Worked fine on my as new condition twenty year old Martin Dreadnought.Initially I applied the product to the back of the guitar to see if there were any negative effects on the guitar.That went well so I cleaned the rest of the guitar with it. Great product, comes with everything you need a larger fabric cloth which is huge. When I ordered this product id figure the cloth would be 6×6 inches but boy to my joy it was about 1ft by 1ft. This product does what it promised to do at a great price. The quality of this product is good. The product does what is said it would and did it very well. I bought a used guitar with a few dings and the coat was about to start fading. This brought back the shine in that guitar and honestly I was a little bit nervous to play because I didnt want to hurt it. This price for you guitar to look alot better. Thats a steal.
Does what it's suppose to and keeps the guitar looking clean and shiny. Simply spray and wipe. I've used a variety of other cleaners, scratch removers, and caranuba wax before and honestly it didn't do crap. I was so silly to think I could spend money on a magic bottle that'll restore the finish on my guitar just as new. Seriously don't believe into the hype of scratch removers. I've spent a lot of money on cleaners and finish restorers. Those products won't erase pick marks because your guitar's finish (assuming it's a decent guitar) isn't made of some cheap coating that can be "restored to new" by wiping some cream. I've been using Dunlop or Gibson polish for years but I saw this cleaner, read the reviews and bought some. The reviews are right. This stuff sprays on and you don't have to wipe and wipe and wipe to get it off. It has a pleasant smell and really does the job in half the time. I've found a new polish. As a collector of guitars and player of 40 years, I have not found a better cleaner/polish than Formula 65. When I get a used guitar I spray it then buff with a soft cloth. I repeat this process several times until the desired shine is obtained. Once this is completed, I only have to maintain the shine with a couple squirts every 6 months or so depending on use. The spray comes out in a fine mist, so you actually use very little. I have been using Formula 65 for about 10 years and and in this time my collection has gone from 8 to about 50 guitars. Worked As Advertised It's great to purchase something that does what the company said it would. At first, I was surprised at how small the bottle was – but then, you don't really need that much. A couple squirts on a microfibre cloth, rub it in gently, and buff with the other side of the cloth, and I got a mirror finish. I ordered GHS' Gorgomyte cloth, the Nomad F-One fretboard oil, and some new strngs, GHS Burnished Roundwound Nickel Rockers Medium (11-50) for my Strat. Like others, I avoid lemon oil. First, I cleaned the fingerboard with some squares cut out from the Gorgomyte cloth (per the instructions). Then I applied the Nomad oil on the entire fretboard. I let it sit a few minutes and the rosewood fretboard soaked it right up. I applied a second coat, only this time I rubbed some on the back of the neck, too. Gave it a few minutes to soak in and wiped off the excess. Lubed the saddles and nut, and put on the new strings. What a difference! It feels so much faster and sounds great! I recommend this procedure every string change.Johne1
I used it on both my rose and ebony fretboards with great results. It slicks on easily with no mess and adds a luster to the look of the wooden surfaces. The price is right close considering you know exactly what is in it, unlike other mystery oils. I like to know what I'm putting on my expensive surfaces and this is good stuff. As a professional for thirty years, I have reasonable experience in cleaning fingerboard, although it's probably been ten years. I watched the demonstration video and got right to it, replicating the video. It's not a complicated process: dab on, soak for a few seconds, rub off. I was pretty disappointed the gunk did not come off anywhere near as well as in the video. I tried soaking, rubbing harder, different cloth, etc. Both instruments (high-end acoustics) had a buildup that I eventually had to carefully scrape off with a tool. Once I got almost all gunk scraped off, I used the fluid again and it cleaned the last bit. It did soak into and condition the ebony, however, so that's a plus. After being skeptical about the players kit since release I though I'd give it a try. since it's not cheap I have waited and saved up to try it out The item came in good time and I was eager to get it onto my guitars. I read all instructions twice and thought I get started on tiny sketches on a newer guitar Used the product and nothing, absolutely no changes the guitar got a clean but the tiny scratches were still there and visible Then I used it on larger scratches and absolutely nothing, on black surfaces.. Still nothing Waited few days and gave it another try and still absolutely no scratches were being removed I used car wax at fraction of the price which did a better job. So in conclusion I would not recommend players kit to anybody it's definitely a no Brainer Better off buying car wax for better results I'll give it a 0 out of 10mikyb676
I choose this product to take some scratches and scuffs out of my gloss black congas. The two major scuffs were deep enough to easily feel them by running my thumbnail across them. Black is a difficult color to polish out, but a couple of rounds of #2 followed by #1 to get the glassy shine back did the job. I wish I'd taken before and after pictures, because this stuff restored my drums to like-new condition. Yeah, it takes some strength (rubbing gently will not do it with a polyurethane finish… you gotta dig in), but it was worth the time I put into it (about half an hour actually) to see those conga shells shine like mirrors. I bought a used guitar on a well known Guitar website , it was supposed to be in excellent condition but arrived with a bunch of scratches and swirls on the top part of the body . I immediately bought this stuff even though its pricey at $30. I read the instructions and applied this stuff a few times(probably 4 or 5 times) , it reduced / diminished the look of the scratches but there are still many . If anything all the scratches are still there just slightly less visible. Note theres lots of glare on the guitar being that's its glossy and the scratches are only visible under the light . I'm glad it was able to reduce the appearance but disappointed it could not remove them.. they're basically all still there. Here's a before and after. Overall: I received some Music Nomad samples about a year ago and immediately started converting to their products. The F-One fingerboard oil is just amazing. Especially the fact that it is safe for any fingerboard wood like maple and ebony!The fret polishing kit is another personal favorite of mine. It takes such little effort to shine those frets back to like new. The polish is great for light swirl marks from picks or other light mishaps. The detailer sprays add a nice depth and shine to the finishes. The included tools in this kit just make it a steal. From the brushes to specialized rags and cloths. Overall: I bought this kit hoping it would give a long lasting high gloss polish. Very sad to say that in fact it will polish somewhat, it does not last . Within a few days my frets were back to the oxidized look and bends were no better than before I used it. Honestly you need to start with about a 1500 – 2000 grit and work up to at least a 8000 – 12,000 grit like a micro mesh paper. You need to actually put some very fine scratches in the fret and work up to the 12,000….. then polish with this stuff. Then it's a whole different feel and much more of a long lasting smooth shine. Very disappointed. I hope zZounds will start to carry the micro mesh pads In the near future.Ron
Figured I'd take a chance on this fret polish kit. Boy, is this a great an easy kit for anyone to use. First off I would recommend having another cloth to use with this as when you use the polish it may end up on the fretboard imo. The three different size fretboard guards work great for any guitar you may have and are sized right so you don't get a lot of that polish on the fretboard.You may need to wipe off the guard here and there from the polish tho. Working the polish in is very easy and within a couple of swipes back and forth you can notice a big difference as the shine Comes back to life and the dirt comes right off. Mind you I haven't polished my frets in I don't know how long but let's just say a long time (years). I've notice a difference in my strings lasting longer,bending is easier and smooth and just moving around chords on the fretboard feel much better. I have a classical guitar that acquired some scratches in the polyurethane while in the hands of a not-so-careful luthier. One was a star-shaped thing on the back, probably from a belt buckle. This stuff made it absolutely disappear! Gone without a trace! I was skeptical before I tried it, but this stuff convinced me. Just used a small amount, a dab about the diameter of a pencil eraser. Applied it to the scratch, and immediately buffed it out with a microfiber cloth. Can't even tell where the scratch was. Good stuff, IMHO.Khing Dheano
I have to start this review off with the obligatory I have been a musician for over a hundred years comment. LOL. Seriously though, this product is excellent for removing very light scratches and swirl marks. It also does wonderfully for removing grime and so forth. As far as deep scratches go, do not buy it for this purpose. You will only be disappointed. This product made my Les Paul look like brand new. My Les Paul had real light swirl marks and some fine scratches. This stuff did a great job of removing all the fine swirl marks and very light scratches. I finished it off with some wax and the guitar looks like brand new. So, yes, I will highly recommend this product for this purpose.JayTheBird

As a collector of guitars and player of 40 years, I have not found a better cleaner/polish than Formula 65. When I get a used guitar I spray it then buff with a soft cloth. I repeat this process several times until the desired shine is obtained. Once this is completed, I only have to maintain the shine with a couple squirts every 6 months or so depending on use. The spray comes out in a fine mist, so you actually use very little. I have been using Formula 65 for about 10 years and and in this time my collection has gone from 8 to about 50 guitars. I haven't found anything better than Formula 65. To maximize The shine I also use The Carnauba polish in the green label.razor12345
Worked As Advertised It's great to purchase something that does what the company said it would. At first, I was surprised at how small the bottle was – but then, you don't really need that much. A couple squirts on a microfibre cloth, rub it in gently, and buff with the other side of the cloth, and I got a mirror finish. And then, after playing, just wiped with a dry cloth and the finish came back. Now I'll try their lemon oil fret and strings conditioner. I'm a fan.Mark L.
