I brought this for a signature book for our wedding, we wanted a playable momento, but didn't want to spend a lot of money. It's a great $88 guitar, we have guitars upwards of $500 so of course it would not be as good. Well built, tunes easily, buy needs frequent tuning. I think if we replace with high quality strings we would definitely take this guitar up a notch. Good for beginners and will definitely teach them tuning skills.Tasha S.
I purchase this bass being motivated by its price and rave reviews. Let me just say that when I received my bass today I was blown over at the fit and finish on this bass. It looks like a $500.00+ guitar! I've been playing it for hours and the deep bass is so sweet. The action is a tad high but I kind of like it that way. The great sound projection from this bass made me chuckle while I was playing because the bass made a silver cup I have on a wall mounted shelf rattle! Now that's impressive sound projection! I can't wait to plug in this bass to my friend's Ampeg that's a 1X15 ported bass amp. It should be wild! This is a great acoustic-electric bass. I originally purchased it to use as an alternative to plugging in my electric bass. I instantly fell in love with it. It stays in tune. The nut is of appropriate measurements and the frets are greatly positioned. I changed the factory installed strings with some acoustic bass strings and it sounded so nice! I purchased my left-handed Glarry Jazz bass back in July of 2020 as a way of keeping occupied during the lockdown, after nearly 2 years I'm still as blown away as the day it first arrived. This bass is a *beast*! It sounds incredible, very little adjustments were needed right out of the box, I lowered the action on one string a little & that's it. The thing that really impresses me in an ongoing way is this bass *insists* on remaining completely in tune almost indefinitely, I have a digital, highly-accurate tuner & this instrument rarely strays from being in tune even after lengthy practice. I find myself wondering how Glarry can possibly make money here. I've also, based on my experience with the bass, purchased a left handed strat copy in a matching finish, & also a Glarry kid's drumset, and am completely happy with my purchases. After hearing a lot of positives about Glarry basses I decided to take the plunge and order one. Unfortunately, I cannot report that I find it to be an amazing value as some have reported. The main problem is the neck. Out of the box the action was set quite high and the usual setup adjustments reveal that the frets are in serious need of a level and dressing. Besides the unpleasant fret fart outs, I notice a fair amount of odd resonances that seems to be originating from the neck on various notes. I can't tell if a good fret leveling would eliminate them or if it is something related to the truss rod internally. The truss rod does work, but turns WAY more easily than any other bass I've ever owned. (Probably 2 dozen over 40 plus years.) The body is good, finish is nice, and the electronics and hardware are serviceable. For the hundred-ish I spent, I'll keep it as a mod bass and replace the neck. Be forewarned: the original neck is a VERY chunky P-Bass width and nowhere near the normal streamlined Jazz Bass neck found on most Jazz basses and Jazz bass copies. Not sure this would be a good starter bass without taking it in for a good setup and fret leveling. In my neck of the woods that would cost about $150.00. Perhaps a better alternative would be to see what you can get in the $200- $300 range that comes ready to play out of the box. As always, YMMV.

I sanded and stained the neck a darker color, applied several coats of polyurethane and a final coat of paste wax. The electronics were upgraded to alpha pots, braided wires and alnico5 pickups, a new wilkinson brass saddle bridge, black machine tuners, bone nut, black jazz bass volume/tone knobs, flat wound strings and a tortoise shell pickguard. While this instrument is completely fine for a beginner, I am more of a seasoned player and was up to the challenge of a fun project. Could I suggest maybe selling only bare body and neck without parts at a lower price which people could build their own instrument to their personal taste? Also, the internet is a wonderful place for information if someone knows where to look, but a beginner might not understand how or even if they need to adjust their truss rod or bridge saddles. Perhaps an included instruction booklet might also be useful as these instruments are catering towards beginners. I am pretty happy with the end results, I'll start with the cons because it's a short list: there were a few chips in the paint on the bass when it arrived (somewhere around 2-4). This is likely a shipping issue more than Glarry itself, however they are so small and obscure you would have to know they are there and look straight for them in order to see them. Now onto the pros: Price, price price. Glarry has put profit behind them and prioritized putting instruments into the hands of as many people that are passionate to get one as possible. This bass plays like any other bass and at a 1/3 of the cost of most mainline basses. Not to mention it looks way cooler and comes with a bag and a pick and some tools, wires and a strap. It's just overwhelming bang for buck and I respect prioritizing making it cheap and easy for everyone who wants an instrument to get one over profit. Can't stress it enough. Would recommend to anyone and everyone looking for one of the instruments available on this site.
I bought to learn Bass Guitar, I'm learning at an awesome rate on this Bass. My instructor said it's weight is perfect, not too heavy. He's a Speed Metal player. That's what I'm learning. This is the first bass I've purchased. I got the burning fire sunburst bass/amp combo for 187$ Shipped! I Assumed and was willing to do a little work to the guitar because that's a great deal. have played guitar for years. Decided I wanted a bass but didn't want to pay an arm and a leg. I was looking at used basses. A glary review popped up on my Google news feed. So I read up about them. I expected the shipping to take forever and to have to do some work to the bass. I placed my order on a Wednesday night at 8 pm Pacific time and recieved my bass the following Saturday at 1:30 pm. Pretty dang fast for free shipping!!! When I recieved the bass it was in perfect condition. Very nice finish, no sharp fret edges, Al electronics in working order. The only adjustments I made we're the low E and A saddles. I raised them a little to get rid of some string buzz and tuned it. I am extremely impressed by what I recieved vs what I paid. If you're like me and looking for your first bass and want a quality instrument but don't want to break the bank. Then this deal is for you.

How fast it came was amazing! For someone just learning to play guitars, I find this bass guitar is awesome especially for the price you can't beat it… The only thing is it's a NO NAME Brand but for a beginner I don't really care about brand… I have other electric guitars, Ibanez, and Alvarez, I have a Fender Acoustic and a Dean Electric Acoustic Bass.. This electric bass I'm reviewing sounds and looks just as good as my other guitars… I've played keyboards and percussions with famous 60's group for over 30 plus years, not to give my age away, always wanted to learn how to play guitars so I figured with this international virus going around and stay at home warnings in affect this is a good time to teach myself how to play guitar.. I read so many reviews before I finally purchased that the original choice wasn't available in the color I want and I hesitated again and the bass I wanted wasn't available at all. I settled for this one and I dont feel like I settled at all. This is an awesome bass for how much it cost. There are minor inconsistencies like the pick ups weren't put in correctly and but still worked. Cosmetically the finish is awesome. Neck doesn't come finished but that's ok. That's not hard to do. I plan on putting better parts in it and that was kinda the plan all along and from the reviews I've read most people have that intention but right out the box it's awesome. I own 3 Ibanez bass guitars and this one is equally as cool.
I read other reviews finding complimentary comments before purchasing. Purchased and received in a timely manner. Took right out of packaging, tuned, and played. I was impressed with playability and even had a fellow bass player try and was also impressed. I am making some minor adjustments to suit my style. Great bass for price.
I own 10 other basses and , I was looking for a 5-string bass that was low-cost, playable, and had passive circuitry. This Glarry 5-string fit the bill perfectly! I bought this bass (and a 4-string fretless, burlywood P-bass style bass) for the exclusive purpose of leaving them at church to be played for the three services we have every Sunday. I'm always asking the sound crew for fresh 9 volt batteries for my basses (and Chourus) and I thought it would be nice to stop doing that (They don't mind) . Our lead soundman Mark Johnson (Candle Box, Red Hot Chili Peppers, too many others…) thinks the bass I bought from Glarry sounds great at the back of the house! I was mistaken about the screws being bent. I was able to adjust the screws, but it made the pickups uneven. I think it's the springs under the pickup, but I will need to remove the pickups and look. I would raise my review to 4 stars, but the site doesn't allow it. I don't think I could get a better bass for the money.
i like the bass guitar alot. it has a minor blemish on the neck near the headstock. but other than that it is nice. I gave it 4 stars because the 1/4 in jack caused a bit of buzzing, once i changed it everything was fine. Plays great and stays in tune. Just a suggestion, on a black guitar it would be nice to see all black hardware. I changed all the hardware and the strings to "black it out". see attached picture. Hope you like.

I wasnt really in the market for a new bass, but when I saw these I changed my mind. It arrived right on time and in perfect condition. The white finish is beautiful and flawless, and the maple fretboard looks killer! The inlays on the fretboard are perfectly done and the fret ends are nicely done! I did have to do a bit of setup, but after 5 days travel to Illinois, that is to be expected. Minor adjustments only, though and the intonation was almost spot on!The neck also seems to be a bit thinner than previous Glarry necks, and plays quite nicely! The only negative here is unfortunately the pickup. Its probable that I just got a bad set, because all the other Glarry basses I have (6 in all) have good pickups. These set very low in the body and were far from the strings, so not much output. The foam on the back is not nearly thick enough, so I reinstalled the pick you p with some springs I had. This raised the height more than enough, but the output is still kinda weak, especially on the A and E strings. That's ok, because I've been eyeing some of the offerings from GFS, so it gives me an excuse to try one out! All in all, I'm pretty happy. I think Glarry has another winner here!

I am pretty happy with the end results, I'll start with the cons because it's a short list: there were a few chips in the paint on the bass when it arrived (somewhere around 2-4). This is likely a shipping issue more than Glarry itself, however they are so small and obscure you would have to know they are there and look straight for them in order to see them. Now onto the pros: Price, price price. Glarry has put profit behind them and prioritized putting instruments into the hands of as many people that are passionate to get one as possible. This bass plays like any other bass and at a 1/3 of the cost of most mainline basses. Not to mention it looks way cooler and comes with a bag and a pick and some tools, wires and a strap. It's just overwhelming bang for buck and I respect prioritizing making it cheap and easy for everyone who wants an instrument to get one over profit. Can't stress it enough. Would recommend to anyone and everyone looking for one of the instruments available on this site.
Just bought one for my granddaughter to learn to play. I do guitar setup work, so I know what I'm talking about. It arrived with neck relief set perfectly! Action needed a slight adjustment, nothing major. Fret end were well filed and didn't need much attention. Neck feel is great! Overall excellent product. Fit and finish were really good, especially in this price range Fantastic bass, especially for the price. Minor complaints: Although it comes with a strap and a gig bag, both were cheap and inadequate and needed replaced. Small amp that came with it appears to be way less than 20 watts, probably more like 2 watts. But amp is useable for a novice learning at home. So this is the good and bad, but really nice bass and an excellent value!me
I bought to learn Bass Guitar, I'm learning at an awesome rate on this Bass. My instructor said it's weight is perfect, not too heavy. He's a Speed Metal player. That's what I'm learning. Update 7/18/2022 I was contacted by Glarry and initially requested a replacement for the broken tuner, Glarry instead offered a $10.00 refund so I could replace the tuner. I replied that I would prefer they send a new tuner so it would match the existing tuners. For reasons unknown to me Glarry did not want to send a tuner so I found a set of tuners on Amazon for $20.00 so Glarry refunded that amount. If I could I would change my initial review from a 3 star to a 4 star but the site won't let me.
I bought the GP bass in dark blue about 3 weeks ago. honestly I'm very impressed with the guitar. It's sounds great, beautiful finish. The only issue I have is the screws for the strap were too short and kept coming loose.if not for that I would give 5 ⭐. I'm actually going to buy the burning fire model next.
