Reviews:
I wanted a guitar that I can travel with, perform and require minimal adjustments (gig ready) and sounded great. The RainSong Black Ice fits the bill perfectly! It sounds great, plays great, is light and looks really cool too!DU in KS
I had a chance to play one of these at a local store and was impressed. Great tone albeit somewhat different to what someone would expect. Not as warm as the tone of a wood acoustic, more like a cross between a guitar and a piano in a good way. Bass is very deep and pronounced, treble is nice and clear and does not get drowned out by the bass, very balanced tone. Rock solid construction and stable no matter what the climate is like inside or outside. If you're interested in one of these it's probably because you've had headaches with keeping you high-end, wood acoustic in tune and properly humidified. This is not necessary with the Rainsong. Always in tune even if it's been a while since you last had it out. Raining outside and with your wood guitar it's probably going to need to be tuned since the wood has reacted to the additional moisture in the air and has caused the strings to go a cent or two sharp. Not the case with the composite, it's the biggest advantage. Playability is decent out of the box but the action comes from factory on the high side. If you're a heavy strummer it's prob better to keep it this way to prevent buzz. If you play finger style or have a light touch you would prob benefit from taking the saddle down an eighth inch or so. The Fishman preamp is excellent. The nut width is nice at 1-3/4 so if you have large hands as I do you should feel comfortable anywhere on the neck. Excellent tuning keys, they are Rainsong branded but seem like Gotohs. The neck profile is odd to me and is one of my complaint areas. It a D shape and I wish it was more of a C shape, the shoulders would help keep my hand from cramping up. Zero defects in workmanship, quality oozes out everywhere and it really shows in the tonelarry
The sound is crystal clear, rich and warm tones. Stunningly beautiful with a mirror finish that reflects everything. The "Black Ice" effect looks to me like black ice crystals that the images don't do it justice. Looks incredible in person. This instruments action plays like any other in the same price range and better. It's construction is sturdy and strong, but what else would you expect from a carbon fiber instrument. I'm loving this guitar!! Well constructed and solid with mirror finish. I found no defects of any kind in mine. It's definetly well worth the money as it plays and sounds comporable to wood guitars. Not quit as warm as wood but the volume and clarity of this instrument is impeccable. I'd definetly recomend to my friends.

Reviews:
Overall, I'd say that I'm very happy with the guitar. It plays well, and it sounds great. I had to tweak it a bit, though. It had a respectable amount of bow in the neck when I received it. I've torqued most of it out, but I have the truss rod tightened as far as I dare to. The action is still a bit high at the 12th fret, but I'll take care of that when I change out the strings. It sounds very chimey and bright with no bottom end at all, hopefully a beefier set of strings will help with that. Skinny frets, I wish they were a bit more robust. String spacing (between pairs) isn't consistent between the nut and the bridge, I may notch the bridge a bit to eliminate that. Otherwise, it's a beautifully built guitar and a great value for the price. You won't be disappointed.
I had a cheap 12 string guitar for about almost two years. I had been playing corridos during this time. However, I had played guitar for several years. Mainly rock and other stuff. Well, after I got it, I could play all the solos I couldn't really play clean. I guess the other guitar really was bad, or this one is great. Funny thing, I had a really good player tell me to not buy this model but the more expensive one. Well, I'm glad I decided to go with this one. This guitar sounds great and it's extremely easy to play. The guitar stays in tune fairly well for a 12 string guitar. The action is low. I haven't tried it the electronics aside from the tuner which works fairly well compared to my snark. I do have a Taylor and Martin guitar, and the tone on this guitar is pretty clean.Juan
This Guitar plays like a dream, sounds great no matter if it is plugged in or not, stays in tune and looks great. This is a great price for a guitar of this quality, but thanks to another dealers daily deal and Guitar Center's price matching, it was even better. I was able to get this out of layaway for $240 less. I am very happy with this guitar. I have not played in a band for a while, but getting back into practice and plan to start back with some solo acoustic gigs. Having this awesome new guitar is surely an inspiration to help me want to practice more.Kip
5. Guild F-2512e 12-String Acoustic Guitar Maple
Product Details:
This guitar comes with a first-rate roadrunner case. this is a beautiful 12 string acoustic. the top is a lovely spruce. i have tried in three photos to make clear the inch long scratch on the top near the strap button. as far as scratches go, this one is placed pretty well. it goes with the grain, as you can see in the photos, so you have to catch it in the light just right to see it. sides and back are maple, and the arched back, with its tiger eye-style markings, is especially beautiful. as you can imagine, it has a bright yet robust ringing sound. it does have a piezo pickup, and the electronics, like everything else on this guitar, work perfectly. it has been kept in a humidity-controlled, smoke-free home. it comes with a roadrunner case that is in perfect structural condition, but the previous owner had children who chose to do a little light coloring on the top.

Reviews:
First off, some people don't know the real characteristics of a Guild 12 string. And, no, they aren't ALL supposed to be deep….The wood determines the sound. Denser wood, deeper sound…lighter wood, brighter the sound…I bought one after playing MANY 12 strings. Including Taylor, Martin, Takamine….and this one was my favorite. Frets easy, sound is bright yet full, loud, and just a great guitar. As for the electronics..ehh..not the best…but…I am running a LR Baggs acoustic preamp pedal and it brings the guitars natural sound. I turn up the bottom just a bit…sounds amazing…LOVE THIS GUITAR…and it's beautiful to boot….Jamie
I ran into one of these in a guitar store and was immediately impressed compared to the other 12-strings in the acoustic room. It's not a Guild 512, but it has a good, solid sound and nice neck. I was concerned about the tuners, but they seem to work fine and stay in tune and they are the same as on the deluxe Westerly models. My guitar showed up with a detached soundhole control. I almost sent it back, but I liked the sound of the guitar enough that I just decided to reattach the soundhole control with some double sided tape. We'll see how that holds up, but I wasn't impressed with the original glue job. Otherwise, nice guitar. A 12-string has so much going on sonically, that I don't think I need a more expensive model to get good sound. The pickup sounds nice, too. I also like the satin finish. Good guitar. Very good guitar for the price.Victor
This is the worst guitar for the money I have ever purchased. My brother took sick just before it was delivered. I never got a chance to check this guitar before the time expires. Where should I start. To say this guitar's flyncey is an understatement. The neck is very uneven! The body is so thin even at its great size it cannot give a deep tone. The head of this guitar is heavier than the whole guitar. I see positive reviews on this guitar and I wonder which cartoon characters are posting them or if they are even real. The sound system is is pathetic! It does not matter which amplifier or PA system I play it through it is totally inadequate. And it is incapable of being used in any type of venue through any type of sound system. Why put it in there at all. Guild should be ashamed of itself!!!!! If you are looking for a quality guitar at a reasonable price that plays well! THIS ISN'T IT!Jake

Reviews:
So, what is it? Acoustic or electric? Wanting to re-learn the guitar I started to look for acoustic guitars. I’ve had Yamaha in the past, so a safe place to start now. The ‘silent’ guitar fitted the bill perfectly. I don’t annoy anyone but can play for hours. But… You will see below the ‘would I recommend it' is NO, and 'is it comfortable to play' is OKAY. Why? The NO is because you must understand what it is. I didn’t know and you can’t quite tell from the photos and videos. I thought I was buying an acoustic guitar (PMT have it in the electro-acoustic and acoustic sections). But it is not. The designer has flubbed it for the desperately simple reason of the body width. Because you create the sound with the body of an acoustic they are wide, deep. Not so here. With no need for a body it is a shallow, electric guitar depth. So when I set up in a classical guitar position, I was all wrong; far too close. The designer should have made the outer body shell deeper, AS IF it were a classic guitar depth. So, what is it? It is an electric guitar you can play 'silently’. Hence the reason why the recommendation is NO, If you want a ‘silent’ acoustic, this is not really it, unless you are happy with the electric guitar body depth. And the OKAY recommendation is there because if you are expecting a classic acoustic depth, as I was, you will be disappointed, despite the excellence of the kit. This then brings along another annoyance. Luckily, I decided upon getting a strap. Handy really, but now the lack of body means a lack of good balance. In an electric guitar the body weight ‘holds’ the guitar down, here the neck is the heaviest item and it just feels a little odd as, sometimes, I get the feeling the my left arm isn’t so free because it is forming the chords/riffs AND ALSO supporting the guitar. That is probably just me being finicky, though. Or, at least, it is my excuse why I can’t form the chords/riffs quickly enough whilst re-learning. So I am now going to get some Ernie Ball electric guitar strings, as I had on the Gibson twin, and work it as a ‘silent’ electric guitar. As noted on PMT, it has been on stage and I would be happy doing so later, if that is where I intend to go. To end on some positives, the ability to dismantle it saves some great space when transporting it in the half-size bag. The electronics in the guitar completely fool the mind into believing you have a real, live acoustic guitar in your hands. The action is superb. Overall, do I like this kit? Am I pleased? Would I change? Yes, I do like it. Yes, I am pleased. No, I wouldn’t change. I now know what it is, what I am doing with it, and where we can go together.Mr R.
After touring with a full-size acoustic guitar for so long, and having to do too many fly-dates with it, I had to either accept that at some point I was going to wind up with a case full of splinters, or find a better alternative. The silent guitar is that alternative. It plays and sounds great. Would I record with it over my good dreadnought? No, but live through a PA it sounds fantastic. The on-board effects and tuner are decent. Nothing fantastic, but do the job if needed. It loses a star, however, because the strap buttons (which also double as the top frame set-screws) tend to loosen when using a strap. I'll have to find a way to keep that from happening in the future. Otherwise, though, this is my new touring acoustic, and I will accept the small infractions while making my travel life way easier.Mikey
Okay, so it sounds great. The neck is lovely. It stays very much in tune, and it makes a terrific practice instrument when I'm out of town. But it could be so much more! The biggest flaw is that when you put a strap on it, the strap actually loosens the bolts that screw the upper bout into the unit. Using a strap will potentially make the guitar come disassemble. I could probably rig something but right now I'm giving up on playing this standing up. Also, the jack does not work will with an angled plug, particularly when standing. Even when using the straight end, the cable can readily disconnect while playing standing up (highly disconcerting). Another oddity is that –for me — the instrument isn't particularly comfortable. I'm 5'8" and of smaller build and when playing seated in the classical position (yes, that's how I learned) the upper bout's contoured edge digs into the chest. After a while, you may find yourself looking for a cloth to drape over that edge to provide cushion. The reverb effects are over-the-top and not terribly useful. The chorus is nice, but I wish I could tweak the depth/speed on it. Finally and sadly, I'm discovering it hungrily eats batteries (AA), or at any rate it signals "low-power" after only about 5-6 hours of playing. The case is okay, just large enough to accommodate the instrument but not much else. I got mine used and it was a good price. I'm glad I own this, but I'd be disappointed had I paid full price. With improvement, this could be a gigging instrument, but in this edition, it is a fun travel/practice instrument.JD Cazador

Reviews:
Been a drummer all my life and a studio producer over the last decade. I recently dove into learning guitar; electric, bass, acoustic, and classical. I wanted to explore the special sound you get from a 12 string. I have a Taylor 214 CE Dlx which sounds fantastic, so I base my acoustic ears off what I get from that guitar. I played everything I could get my hands on up to $1000. I was simply blown away with this Mitchell guitar's sound and playability. I have found that less expensive 12 strings can be pretty glassy sounding and typically lack low end. Not this guitar. It has a very pleasing airy sound that is warm and articulate. It is well balanced across all the frequencies to my ears. Most tops are sitka spruce, this is mahagony and seems to be what really helps set it apart. I had to ignore the "brand" name and just go with my ears and instinct The strings were broken in and it stays in tune very well. It was set up very nicely with low action and just easy to play and inspiring. The bridge was still fairly flat and not pulling up much at all, as can be typical with cheaper guitars that use young wood that still needs to dry out and settle. If it sounds, feels and plays good and inspires you to play more, than you can never go wrong with your choice. Sold…Drum Dood
I have tried this guitar in 2 Guitar Centers (Manchester, CT and New London, CT) when shopping for other reasons but I like to try the goods while I'm there. Point being, I keep going back to it. I've been thinking about adding a 12string to my arsenal. After trying other brands in higher price ranges I find myself enjoying the playability and sound more while in disbelief if its price point. As I read other people's reviews I have come to the conclusion that it's a must have. There is a sale right now on the thing so I'll be owning it within a couple hours. For practice, trying something new, playing out… I believe we have a winner. Nice job, Mitchell. P.s. I couldn't bring myself to add an official Con, honestly. If anything, the appearance could be a setback if one finds value in such a thing. I plan on throwing cool stickers on here from traveling to add rock n'roll character to it so to heck with image.Ian
This is my first 12 string after 36 yrs of playing. There are no issues to speak of with the guitar I received. Sounds and plays excellent. Looks are better in person. Honestly couldn't be more happy about this guitar. I mainly playing electric guitar, rock to metal, and not that big into acoustic. If you get one, I sincerely hope it's as nice as mine. Time will tell on how it stands up. For now, this guitar is a steal in my honest opinion. I don't write reviews but had to for this..Korey

This was a demo basically flawless.alex always great at Sweetwater. And went through 55 point inspection Logan and Cody did a excellent job. Thanks Sweetwater. You rock
Loved the look, price, sound, and feel of this guitar. Tried it out in the store and was ready to buy the floor model, but luckily I asked for a 9V battery to test the electronics at the counter. Oddly the battery port fits fine into the guitar when empty, but the moment you put a battery in it it will not stay shut and pops open rendering your electronics useless. Me and the sales rep at the front figured this was had to be a fluke and he ordered a new one to be delivered to my house. Four days later it arrived. I played it for about an hour out of the box without issue (set up was great, sounded great acoustic) and then I decied to check the electronics. Sure enough, the exact same issue occured when I tried to fit a 9V in the battery port. When a battery was actually in it, it would not stay shut. No tuner, no electronics. Ten minutes later I was back at my local GC. The tech inspected it an came to the same conclusion as I did after trying 5 different brand batteries to see if that made a difference- it's defective. He recommended I return it and try another product. In short it plays nice, sounds nice, and looks nice but if it happened on 2 guitars it has to be happening on more of them. I'm sure you could duck tape it or find a way to keep it closed but this should not be an issue on a $350+ guitar. 3 stars.Ryan
This is my second 12 string and I really like it. Sounds great action is outstanding and onboard tuner is great – I could not ask for more.Jim

Sound: What more do you want at this price point with free shipping. Well built, sounds good.Fishman MX electronics, already installed heel joint strap button, Tusq saddle and nut and bridge pins. Overall: Nice guitar. I can easily tell the difference between this model which I just bought, here, from a USA made one: then again one could buy a few of these ones for the starting price of a new USA made Martin 12 string.Very nice gig bag. Well constructed. Fishman MX electronics with the batter door where it should be at the output jack plate.Plek'd at the Martin factory, but I am going to have my tech adjust the action, not bad just a little higher than I like.
First off ! I highly recommend this 12 string to everyone! i have now owned this guitar for almost a year now. Before I bought this Martin dx2e I shopped around and went to a bunch of different guitar stores to compare different brands and see the difference. I was after a really good full sound with no string noise , I definitely did not want a lament top and real wood sound that would appreciate more and more in time. I compared a taylor, and it was great but the price was a little crazy, for what was afforded I didn’t care what brand of guitar i was going to choose, all that mattered to me was the tone and feel , I tried a guild 12 string and again it was really nice as well but I found it had a lot of mid high tones . Again I was looking for a certain sound that would cater to my own sound, style and feel . After shopping around I chooses this Martin DX2e for its great natural sound and the feel , the price was definitely unbeatable and I still can’t believe how good this guitar sounds! Amazing guitar! The next big factor was now where to buy it , Sam ash? Guitar center ? I found American musical “AMS” was amazing to purchase this Martin from, it showed up in just 2/3 days protected and the customer service was unbelievable! I love this guitar and love AMS and again I highly recommend this guitar you will not be disappointed! Thank you AMS for making my decision easy and effortless !
I recently purchased my Martin DX2E 12 string from AMS and I love it. I purchased my Martin GCE16 about a year ago from AMS and I have never heard of them before this. I tried to order the same guitar from Guitar Center and it come in damaged, so I returned it. I then tried to order the same guitar from Musicians friend. The online site said it was in stock. I even paid for 2 day delivery, but it never showed up. After 2 weeks I called and they told me the guitar was out of stock. They also told me they should of called or emailed but they don't know why they didn't.(TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM MUSICIANS FRIEND).This is when I found AMS. I called AMS and they were VERY helpful and easy to deal with. I ordered my VERY FIRST MARTIN GUITAR from AMS and have been very pleased. I have since ordered my second Martin guitar from AMS and will only use AMS for my online purchases from here on out. Thank You for all of the great service and merchandise.Bobby
10. Alvarez Artist Aj80ce-12 Jumbo Acoustic Electric 12 String
Product Details:
Solid top electro-acoustic guitar with cutaway jumbo body shape from multi-award winning artist series that provides a true powerhouse when it comes to sound. it is designed to get the best out if its components, and for them to work together to produce balance, lively projection and great response. these components include the fst2 bracing system, bi-level rosewood bridge, real bone nut and saddle, great quality tone woods including solid a+ sitka spruce top and maple back, sides and neck, and thin gloss finish. the fst2 is a forward shifted x brace design, which means the axis of the x is closer to the sound hole and therefore creates a larger soundboard area allowing for more energy and vibration to be harnessed. both the x braces and asymmetric tone bars are carefully scalloped. the fst2 also creates very good balance so both the treble and bass registers are clearly present and balanced in relation to each other. along with a more angled headstock with rosewood plate and chrome die-cast tuners, the bi-level bridge increases string tension by making the break angle of the strings from the saddle to the top more acute. improved string tension adds to the sound, feel and response, which are also heightened by the use of real bone nuts and saddles. other premium features include the lr baggs stagepro eq and element pickup for optimal live performance, 21-fret rosewood fingerboard with abalone/mother-of-pearl inlay, ivory abs binding, dovetail neck joint (joined at 14th fret) and d'addario exp strings. scale length is 648 mm, nut width is 44.45 mm. natural colour design.

Reviews:
Having owned an original 1980 Yairi DY87 doubleneck since new in 1980 I was looking to semi-retire it with a new six string acoustic to be my work horse. With that I bought the AJ80CE six string a few months ago and I am thoroughly amazed with the tone, feel, and looks of this Alvarez beauty. Now to compliment it I have now bought the twelve string version (open box) and I can;t say enough about it! Although I had to make a slight adjustment on it as the low "E" was kind of dead sounding- I popped out the saddle and adjusted the braided strip underneath and now it is absolutely an awesome sounding , looking and playing twelve string. I highly recommend both of these!
I ordered this 12 string from MF a few months ago. I have played an Alvarez Yairi since 1983 and my six string plays as well after 30 years than the day I bought it from St. Louis Music. I wanted a 12 string as I have only owned one in my lifetime–an Ovation I traded on a Martin six before trading for the Yairi. I have been so impressed with Alvarez that I didn't shop for anything else in a 12 string, saw this on MF and pulled the trigger knowing I could send in back. I registered it in my name day one. Alvarez is the most underrated guitar maker out there. A beautiful instrument I plan to keep and a joy to play. Thanks MF!Willis
Well, I have owned plenty of 12 string guitars in my time. Rickenbackers, Fenders, Gibsons, Peaveys, and Ovations but this is the finest of the bunch. I seriously wouldn,t replace it with any of the others that I have owned. I am a big guy, so this big jumbo feels perfect for me. The neck is just right, not too wide, the action is low enough, and tuned to D using a capo and extra light strings, it has a smooth touch and a loud enough sound, both highs and lows. It stays in tune. always a plus! The electrionics are superb and offer a fine balance of tones and volume combinations. I play mine through a Fender Acoustosonic 90 and wow. I am just blown away somtimes by the effects and possibilities with this setup. The whole instrument is a thing of beauty and I bet if you get your hands on one, you will just have to own it.12 String Paul

The guitar sounds amazing!! But needs some modifications for my personal use.Josh
I bought my JJ 12-string here in England in 2000, 16 years ago. It has given me nothing but pleasure ever since. It's a joy to play – much easier than a six-string in many respects – and its tone, playability and looks are much admired by other players. Mine is fitted with the DSP acoustic preamp which is great, but I gather its has had a few problems along the way and has been replaced. The guitar has been refretted and plays as well as the day I bought it. Some slight bellying when you get the light right, but you'd expect that. There's only one slight downside: the scratchplate will lift at the edges and come off in time. I replaced mine with a transparent scratchplate which is effective but doesn't have the charisma. I also bought, in 2007, the six-string equivalent. Again, a really great instrument – sadly, with the same scratchplate problem, so it wasn't a one-off. I love my 12-string. I have never regretted paying far more for this guitar than I had ever spend on an instrument before. It is worth every penny, and more. I cannot recommend it enough.goosebooer
This guitar is by fat one of the best takamine guitars that i have ever played.

Reviews:
Ok so it's Chinese made, but this is why it does not cost 1500. The build quality is good, the setup out of the box was great. Low action and easy to play, even accounting for wider than standard 6 string neck. ( And I don't have long fingers) The electrics work great and the hidden nature of controls is cool, if you don't want a big hole cut in the side of your guitar. Solid woods throughout, with great finish. Weakest point is the tuners, but it holds tune well for a 12 string, which in itself is unheard of!jacol-431
I've wanted a Guild 12-string since college, over over 40 years ago. Back then I had a Lyle Hummingbird clone 12-string, which sounded okay (laminated body, spruce top, Japanese manufacture.) Before I left college I also bought a Guild G-37, blonde, arch back 6-string. I still have both guitars. I loved the sweet, well balanced tone of the G-37, but could never afford one of their 12-strings to mate up with it. Fast forward to now – haven't played any of my guitars in several years, and wanted to get back into it. With the Westerly Collection, a 12 string was now affordable, and all the reviews and videos convinced me that this was the time! My new F2512E Deluxe arrived the other day, and it's stunning! Flawless finish, precision inlays, and oh that tone! Just like the tone of some of my favorite artists from the folk era, like John Denver. Can't wait to try Rocky Mountain High on this baby, but I'll also be learning or relearning some more contemporary tunes as well. Thanks Guild for making an affordable but terrific sounding 12!Mike
Bought this guitar to add to my acoustic collection. For this price my exoectations were low as I own a Martin, Gibson, Ovation Elite and Yamaha Transacoustic all which cost considerbly more so I was abslutely blown away by this guitar. It came perfectly setup out of the box with nice low action-no adjustment needed. The glossy sunburst finish over the flamed maple back and sides is absolutely beautiful-the top and is matched spruce and the back is matched flamed maple. Beautiful shimmery sound and the pickup sounds great plugged into my deluxe reverb amp. The satin neck finish is smooth and the frets are smooth and polished. The quality of this guitar is outstanding-I could not find a flaw in its material or construction anywhere. Nice bright maple jumbo guitar that I am glad I purchased. Don't let the price point and the made in China sticker scare you away-this guitar holds its own against my Martin HD-35, Gibson hummingbird and my other acoustic guitars. I bought a gator jumbo case to keep it safe and the ase fits nicely.DWB

Reviews:
I bought this guitar from Musicians Friend almost two years ago. First of all, I love the way it looks. The mahogany body and the skulls on fretboard are awesome. It looks amazing hanging on the wall with my other guitars. But with guitars, sound is most important. The sound it makes when unplugged is very unique. This is because of it's smaller size. The top face of this guitar is roughly the same size as my other acoustics, but the sides are an entire inch shorter. This makes it easier to transport and hold, but changes the sound. Yet it is still about the same loudness as my other acoustics. If the unplugged sound was always like that it would be fine, but the wiring inside the body is not done well, and it makes noises. The plug connecting the wires from the jack/battery to the tuner/knobs often comes just loose enough to allow it to rattle inside the body when you are playing. It only takes a second to reach into the soundhole and put it back in place, and it only will happen once a week or so, but I would never want to play live with this guitar for fear of it happening in the middle of a performance. Now there is the issue of playing while plugged in. The guitar has built in volume, bass, middle, and treble knobs, which is great, but they cause problems due to the poor quality pickup. The higher you turn up the volume knob, the more static you get, but if you turn it down, it is too quiet. The higher you turn up you turn up the bass the more feedback you get, and the higher you turn up the middle and treble the more of this annoying humming sound you get, but if you turn these knobs down you lose all your tone and the guitar sounds dull and boring. To achieve the best sound I just put all the knobs around the halfway point. Even if you do this, depending on how loud you want your amp, you have to be a specific distance away from your amp or else you will get the most horrendous sounding feedback (it's comparable to holding a mic right in front of the same amp its plugged into). If your amp is on the quiet side, you need to be about 5 ft. away, if it's kind of in the middle you need to be about 10 ft. away, and if it's loud you have to be almost 20 ft. away from your amp. The other thing I would like to address is the guitar's playability. Due to its smaller body and thinner neck than most other acoustics, it is very easy and comfortable to hold. However, the action is so high to the point where it is difficult to play certain songs, but that can be fixed by filing down the saddle. Oh, and for some reason the bridge on mine is slowly starting to come off, it's just the edges now, but I fear it will get worse. Under close inspection, it appears that hardly any glue was used. This is probably just a defect and not all are like this. I will simply glue the bridge back on should it come off completely. To sum it up: If you permanently fix the wires in place, and lower the action, this would be an amazing acoustic guitar; one that would be (for the price) deserving of 5 stars. As an electric it would need a much better pickup, and that would require addition money to replace (if you even can, I haven't checked), so as an electric instrument, I would give it 2 stars. But it does sound alright through an amp if you carefully set your tone and stand back. Overall I'd say it's a decent guitar, so I'll give it 3/5 stars.Duftite
I bought this guitar for my boyfriend for Christmas, & he loves this guitar. It's a lot better than the acoustic that he bought himself on Amazon & now that He has this guitar He's debating wheather he wants to keep the Amazon guitar or not. This is a great guitar! He does have a few complaints about it. It's a little too quiet, the frets are smaller than what He's used to, because He mainly plays electrics with either medium jumbo or jumbo frets. The only other thing that He wishes it had is a cut out for the higher frets. All in all he thinks this is a great guitar & it sounds & plays great. The action is low, the neck isn't too thick, so if you have small hands, you should still be able to play it. All in all this is a good guitar & if you are looking @ acoustics then he implores you to consider this guitar, He has yet to find a Fender that He don't like.Piano/Guitar Man
So its my birthday and as a leftie on a budget I wanted to get a cool new guitar since I hadn't bought a new w one in 15 years. So I gave myself 2 weeks before my Birthday to make my purchase. I heard of musicians friend from a friend when I was looking for a Ovation (which I've always wanted). So I see this guitar and think man thats cool. So I ordered it but when it came in the Fishman electronics were different. So I called Fender and they said the electronics I received were from the 2010 model and since then they had upgraded to better sliders and a large electronic box instead of the tiny tuner knobs for bass mid treble… So I called and the rep was cool and said return it and w'ell get another one out and I'll have my guys at the warehouse open the box to be sure it has the right electronics before we ship it. So I spend my time going to the UPS store on my only break. Musicians friend sends me my guitar. Open the box. WOW… Same guitar same electronics.. No follow through. This is not how you do business. Called and was told first rep didnt do his job right and too bad too sad basically. I just wanted the guitar they had pictured. That Musicians Friend showed they were selling… Could they not make sure the product they had pictured is the product they were selling? Yeah-I know- big cry baby- but sometimes you dont get alot of pleasures in life and my pleasure was looking forward to a new instrument. My lifes been tough this past few years with the economy. I'm working over 100 hours a week 7 days a week for 2 1/2 years- so yeah – I'm disappointed and frustrated.Ousso2112

It took some effort to dial in this guitar. Before my purchase, I had read about some manufacturing flaws and in deed, this guitar had them. Most notably, the ends of the frets were razor sharp and needed to be filled down. I also had a problem with the 7th tuning key breaking the string. It broke 3 strings before I swapped the #7 and #8 strings on their tuning keys. I didn't have any other tuning issues after that, but it did cost me three sets of strings. I also had issues with the tuning display, which required me to take it apart 20x, but managed to get it dialed in and working. The reality is, for the price, it's hard to beat. If you have a little bit of skill, you can dial this guitar in and once it's there, it's great. The intonation is good, the sound quality is great, play-ability is great, once it's in tune, it stays in tune, once the tuner issue was worked out, the tuner has worked great since. It showed up without a mark on it, the woodworking, inlays, body and neck construction is good.cronkauctions

I ordered an open box guitar at a discount. It was the Black one. When I opened the box I found the documentation and the batteries for the electronics loose in the box. It didn't come with the sound hole cover either. This guitar had been played as the pick marks below the sound hole were obvious. This guitar was not a 2nd but more like a 3rd. I called to return it and decided to order a brand new one in Natural. I would really like to see a pick guard for this instrument but the sound hole is oval so I would need to buy one and modify it to fit. I received the new one and it seems fine but the jury's out on the playability until I get it set-up by some pro techs. Then I'll follow up with another review.Stan the Man
I own several six string instruments, but this is the first 12 string to my collection. I am very happy with the choice. I did a lot of research, and played several different brands and I would always keep coming back to this one. What did it for me: Smooth and easy is to play. Many 12 strings may get a bit tiresome after a while, and depending on the brand the tension of the strings can be very punishing on the instrument AND your hands. I can play thing thing for hours with no problem, and it stays in tune surprisingly long, even when I get spirited with this thing. I use it mainly as a rhythm guitar, not much bending going on with this. The preamp, with the incorporated tuner is such a great convenient tool. Speaking of that, I've met some people that like to have the strings in this model doubled up for their music style — such as "norteño music" (instead of the traditional octave type), and neck & bridge seems impervious to the added tension. I don't plan to do that, but I am happy to know that I have that choice. I went with the black finish, and it is gorgeous. It is nice when you open the case (I paired it with the Yamaha APX Vinyl Hardshell Guitar Case — it fits perfectly) all your friends get that "wow" factor. It sounds amazing unplugged, just loud enough to be a pleasant compliment to not-amplified vocals. Once you plug her in, this thing is a monster! Amazing, crisp professional sound! The tones are controlled, there is no distortion when you need to get that "forte" emphasis to the song. I haven't had any feedback problems, even though it actually comes with a convenient sound-hole cover. And the answer is no, it will not diminish the sound quality if you use the cover, especially plugged in. For the price, you're definitely purchasing a guitar that is much, much better than more expensive models. Trust me, the pictures do not make her justice at all, this is a gorgeous professional level instrument.BeeZee
This guitar is probably all it was designed to be and also probably perfect for an electric player who just wants to throw a little 12 string into their set-list. It plays like an electric. It is well put together and has all the appeal of a much more expensive guitar. However, it is a thin body design. "Thin" being the key word, that's exactly what you get from the ambient sound of the guitar. It can be EQ'ed to sound thicker in an active environment, but that's not what I look for in an instrument. The tight neck feel also was not to my liking.SRP

Bought one used… traveled across the country for 8 days… despite very used strings, it was playable out of the bag… nearly perfectly in tune! Sounds great when plugged in.Robert Van Geons
I bought this guitar for a trip to France where I played in 10 different cathedrals with a church group. I have probably played it every day since 2018. My other 8 guitars are languishing. Great feedback, comfortable size. I love the neck. And I can leave this guitar out for my grand children to play on, without worry of them destroying it.

Reviews:
This is one of the best travel guitars Ive tried. Although it isnt perfect, its extremely well thought out and is about as close to the real thing as it goes. Neck is slightly thick and heavier than a traditional acoustic. Body and neck scaling feel a little bit shorter than a traditional. But, the folding mechanism is spot on, and it sounds and looks great. Pricing is on the higher side. So, its still going to be a novelty item until they drop the price to make it more affordable to the masses.asnrogue
