Not only does this 5 watt lil' monster have enough power to rattle the windows, it also has class! At only 9 lbs. the Bugera T5 Infinium has enough "UMFF" to push your favorite 4X12" cabinet into the stratosphere! It's better having this reverb built into this lil' madman than not having any at all. Just like 9/10 of the other amp heads in its class. The 1 channel, "all tube" head has warm cleans. Push in the PHAT switch and crank the volume and gain and you get saturated distortion that will blow you away! All of that in a 9 lb metal cage like package for only $200! You won't find another 5 W head with all of that for this price. I love my T5 Infinium from Bugera!brmul-8207
What it's not: Not a $1k boutique tube amp. Not a mid-size club amp (unless you have great monitors and a good sound guy). What it is: A well designed, very affordable little monster that will give enough stage volume at 5W for rehearsals in a full rock band or small club, and will also allow you to drive the output stage at that 1W or 1/2W setting for recording at home. The amp sounds best at 5W and driven into either a 4ohm cabinet or two 8ohm cabs. If you use it to drive an 8ohm cab, you are getting only 70% of its potential. I only use el84 based amps. i love their dark, throaty sound, and while this amp doesn't have the punch or snap I get from my 15W custom built el 84 amps, it sounds great for rehearsal or recording. I am a little bit worried about long-term build quality. The input jack is plastic. I have a hard time seeing that surviving a year of rehearsals without breaking. This is a great supplemental amp for rehearsals and recording. Very smartly designed. Good feature set. And if you like the el84 style sound, it delivers it above expectations at this price range. In these days of small solid state, practice amps, this little amp gives you tube tone and more at a very affordable price. A 12ax7 preamp tube and an EL84 power tube provide the tone along with built in reverb, 2 band EQ, gain and a "phat" overdrive switch for added crunch. The three stage attenuator is a nice touch. The stock Bugera tubes are OK but I switched them out with Tung-Sols which provided a rich creamy overdrive more to my liking. Great sound when plugged into my Orange 8" or 12" cab plus headphone jack for late night playing. Great amp for the price!Isom

Lots has been said about these Burgera amps. I've had two of the V22 versions. This is my first V55 version – which has the 6L6 tubes for that more fendery clean headroom sound. The larger cab gives some warmth to all of that. It does look kinda empty behind there -being it has one 12 inch 70 watt speaker. Consider the 60 watt fender DeVille which either gives you a 410 or a 212 and about the same size cabinet closure. ..Or the Twin reverb. I think Bugera wanted you to feel like you had one of these kind of amps. However at 55 Watts I would say it feels a little lacking if you compare it to those other amps. So don't do that! On its own it's great and totally nails that ZZ Top Brown Sugar sound with thick woody notes. I find the volume to be very tame on it. Plenty of headroom and takes pedals better than my Hot Rod Deluxe. The reverb on it is just okay it's not awful ..but it's nothing super exciting either. Bugera used a Hall Reverb chip on it and it does get the job done. I wish they would have used a spring reverb chip instead. Some have complained that the clean and game channel shares the same EQ, but that's no big deal to me. On initial fire up you may hear the highs to be a bit metallic and the lows a bit flubby. No worries, it just means the speaker needs to be broken in a bit. Once you do – it warms up nicely and the highs get their magic back pretty quick. I've heard it said that it takes about 2 weeks to break the speaker in real good. After that they say you won't want to replace it. Anyway Some things that stand out: Great Tube tone and volume Looks classic and super sharp .. I have no problems displaying it in my living room. Super quiet and no noise coming out of it. Concerns: You will swear this thing is bolted to the floor when you go to pick it up! lol – yes it's heavy. Bugera is known for installing crappy tubes in these. Meaning they don't last very long so you better have a set ready. These amps are known to give you rattle, hiss and static right out of the box from bad tubes. I got lucky on this one and sounded great time the get-go. Best to buy this amp from an established retailer like Sweetwater in case you get a bad one. That weight!!!
This amp sounds like the old Fender tube amps, I love it. If there could be one improvement, it would be to have the true spring reverb. The tone is incredible, and I love the look. This amp is about a third of the price of a Fender witht the same features. I also understand that it's hard wired – no circuit boards. Great amp all the way around.Fud
I used to play through a Marshall 4×12 cab loaded with GT 75 Celestions. I was a heavy amp owing to the fact it had 4 speakers so I wanted something a little lighter and I came across this Bugera 2×12 with the Turbosound speakers. This is an impressive Cab and is versatile. You can run it in stereo or bridged mono, and it's got some great power handling capabilities. The sound is very clear and if you crank up the bass in your amp head or effects, it can get very "throaty". For the money, this is a big bang for the buck. Great little amp for the money. This is my first EL84 amp as I was after something different to my old EL34 Laneys & Marshall. This delivered what I was after. Both channels very useable – clean has quite a bit of headroom as a pedal platform. Drive channel sounds great – better with humbuckers than single coils to my ear, but very useable – very touch responsive and cleans up nicely when you roll off the vol. The reverb is fine but maybe a little over the top at higher settings: maybe useful for ambient stuff. Biggest surprise is the speaker – well balanced and sounds really tight – especially with humbuckers. Stock valves seem absolutely fine. The combo is nicely finished too. If you want the sound and are not bothered about brand names, this is fantastic value for money as a first valve amp, or as something that sounds a bit different. Easily loud enough for pub gigs. This item was purchased as a level 2 blemished item. The blemishes very minor and well within my ability to accept it that way. However, after receiving the amp I discovered that the reverb did not work. I tried several different guitars all with the same results – no reverb. Though the demos and reviews said the reverb wasn't the greatest there was still plenty of reverb available (too much according to some reviewers). Even with the reverb turned to 10 there was no reverb. I called MusiciansFriend and was told that a level 2 blemished item could have functions that didn't work. The fact that the reverb didn't work or that some items may not work on a level 2 blem should have been explained in the description I could not find this information anywhere.Chris
3 x 12AX7s and 2 x EL84s, solid (heavy!) chassis, reverb, effects loop, external speaker connection with switchable impedance – just what I wanted. The footswitch to change between clean and gain channels means you don't need pedals to get a boost. Only negative: the footswitch came in a heavy duty plastic bag which was stapled to the bottom of the cabinet, and difficult to remove. Sounds good on its own – all the tone without blowing your eardrums. Playing through my vintage Carlsbro 4 x 12 sounds better still.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.

This is the amp and tone I have been in search of. It has plenty of gain for metal and the EQ dials in nicely. The clean channel is excellent as well. You will not find a better amp for the price, what a killer value! You could potentially spend a lot of money on an amp of this caliber, but probably won't get any better tone quality for spending lot's of extra $! It has all the knobs, bell's and whistles that you'll ever need, including a four button footswitch; clean, crunch, lead and FX/boost. Be prepared this amp is bulky heavy but sounds beautiful. The clean channel crisp clear. The crunchy gain is FLIPPIN CRAZY great tone. And for the lead channel well its the same depending on how you have your settings. This is in great shape. i bought it in the spring of 2020, and it works perfectly. it s just not my sound. if you like high gain, this thing is for you. the drive channel makes one of the best distortion sounds i ve ever heard, but i m more of an overdrive and fuzz guy it turns out.with power scaling, a headphone/line-out with cab sim choices, a boost-able fix loop, and, again, an absolute monster of a drive channel, this is great for modern playing and recording. it s a great pedal platform too.

This little five watt amp has the heart of a Lion. Clean channel is from crisp and articulate to warm and wrap it up in a sweater goodness. The drive channel with the greater level of tone control can be any sound you want, truly. It's up to you. I drive this amp through a close backed cabinet of my own design made with plank spruce and 8" Jensen Mod 35 speakers. It sounds amazing. Rich full tone and great response to picking level (hit it hard and it'll bark at you. Soft and it will whisper too.) It also has digital reverb which for me coming from spring will take a little getting used to. Overall a great addition to anyone's arsenal of amps.codboy61
I bought this strictly for my bedroom but found it's much more. It gets loud enough for band practice on the dirty channel and the clean with the volume up gets a nice breakup. It handles pedals well in the loop or an overdrive out front. I don't care for the morph when it's fully left or right on the dirty channel but you get nice tones on the clean side. The attenuator is the reason I bought it and I love it. I A/B'd it with the ht5 and couldn't see spending the extra cash on the Blackstar. Then I A/B'd with my modded dsl15h on triode (7 watt) and it made me wonder how much of the signal is tube and how much is solid state, but I don't know if that's fair given the Marshall has 4 12ax7 and 2 6v6 tubes. Can't speak to durability yet but it seems well built, and I haven't used the emulated out. All in all I'd recommend it for the price and the featuresgbob61

Tone, Tone, Tone! Its a fender deluxe reverb on the clean channel, and a marshall 1974x on the dirty channel. The clean channel is great. Its extremely clean, and sounds beautiful with a guitar plugged straight in and dry without reverb or any effects. Additionally, the clean channel takes pedals very well. The dirty channel is fairly versatile. By messing with the dirty channels settings you can go from blues to rock, to early metal tones. Using different speaker cabs really makes a difference in the sound too. The amp itself feels very solid. The only negative I can say about this amp is the reverb. The reverb is very clean, and it isnt bad sounding, but at settings over 5 it starts to sound fake (digital). So if your playing 1960's surf music with this amp, you might want to use your own reverb through the effects return. For everyone else, the reverb should be fine.njdeval
I ran across this head while researching 2 channel amps around the 20 watt mark. I've been using a 15W Tweaker combo (which I love), but couldn't get the desired range of sounds while playing live without expanding my already cluttered pedalboard. Since no stores were carrying one that I could hear in person, I had to resort to online videos to figure out whether or not I liked the tones this could put out. After months of agonizing, I finally bit the bullet and ordered it sight unseen (sound unheard?). I got it with Bugera's 2×12 closed back cabinet. Since I live in an apartment, the initial tweaking was done at a reasonably low volume. My humbucking PRS SE Santana was pretty muddy in the "normal" jack, but after switching to "bright" I quickly found some usable tones. The clean channel is very rich sounding and required a bit of fiddling with the treble and presence knobs to get a tone that would work with a band. Once dialed in, it took my pedals beautifully and let the guitar tone really shine through. The gain channel was disappointing. Anything past mild breakup sounded fizzy on the top end and muddy at the bottom. The shared EQ got a decent compromise between the gain and clean channels, but I was a bit underwhelmed. As soon as I took it to band practice and got the speakers moving some air, things improved dramatically. The clean channel stayed articulate and warm, and the gain channel sat so well in the mix I felt like I wasn't using any volume at all. There was still fizziness with higher gain, so I kept that channel to a mild overdrive that I could push with a boost pedal and saturate with a drive pedal. A cranked OD pedal on the clean channel took care of the rest of the gain. At stage volume, this covers lush clean to mild, classic rock overdrive all on its own. With pedals, I can cover anything from ambient post-rock and 90's grunge to country/blues and classic rock. In short, TURN IT UP!!!Alpine Floridian
Got this as B stock, and since I repair amps, I took this amp apart and tested the tubes. The tubes are Tung Sol reissue copies and they sound great—let them break in first, give it about four or five months of intermittent use. You'll be very pleased with the results, I can tell you, the sound stage and head room are outstanding, the EL-34's positively purr! I had to remove the lead free solder from all of the tube sockets, as they turned out to be cold solder joints (ergo, why I got a deal on the amp, as a B stock customer return.) The amp sounded far, far better than it had originally, if you have the skills with solder wick and a soldering iron, give it a shot, you won't regret it!! 99% of the problems with these amps are simply due to the tube sockets being hand soldered incorrectly, the main board, which is wave soldered, is 100% perfect, even with the lead free solder used. The Fender to Marshall ISF pot works, interesting tones produced by this, you'll enjoy the results… The PC boards use surface mounted components, for the most part, so don't buy this amp thinking that you can modify it that easily, you can't and it really is not necessary, the amp sings fine, just as it is!ejmendoza

I was looking for a tube amp head and a 112 cab. Like a lot of people I don't have a ton of money to spend, but I wanted something that would work for what I do. When I got the amp it worked and as advised a let the power tubes warm up before I used it. this is a list of features I really like. 1. A good built in reverb. 2. An effect loop. 3. A switch for 4,8 and 16 Ohm speakers. 4. Came with a foot switch that that controls the channels and turn the reverb on or off 5. Two channels. A clean and a dirty. 6. Responsive tone and volume knobs. 7. Four pre-amp and two power-amp tubes. 8. The Infinity self bias feature for changing tubes. 9. One of the best clean channels I've ever used on a tube amp. 10. Works very well with pedals and effects units. 11. A indicator in back to let you know if the tubes need to be replaced. 12. A great price for a 50 watt all tube amp. 13. Looks great, almost like a Vox Night Train(which I believe Bugera modeled this after). 14. Works extremely well with the Burgera 112TS cab. Great cab by the way. 15. Has a fat switch which is helpful for people using single coil pickups in their guitars. These are the thing I didn't care for. 1. A fairly bad dirty channel. It tends to get fizzy sounding when bring up the gain. 2. The Tone Cut Knob in my opinion is pretty much useless. It kill your tone and sounds like a wet blanket was put over the speaker or speakers. Maybe if you use it slightly I could see a use for it, but you're better off using your EQ and/or adding an EQ to your effects loop. 3. The stock tubes aren't that good, but then again you can't except much for an inexpensive tube amp. I love and enjoy playing different kinds of music, but I love my metal :). I put in a set of GT 6L6GEs, a EH 12AX7 in V1, a Tung Sol 12 AX7 in V2, a EH 12AX7 in V3 and a EH 12AX7 in V4. This cleaned up the fizzy sound and tightened up my tone, but you still need separate overdrive and compression to put this amp in modern metal territory.Realmofreal
I have had the G20 for a couple of weeks and it has exceeded my expectations. I have had over a dozen amps in the past few decades, mostly solid state combos. One exception is an Orange Micro Dark hybrid I still own. This is my first all tube amp, and to me, the G20 provides "better" tones than any of my others. The G20 feels well built, with metal knobs & switches, solid connectors, and nice tolex with everything straight. The Morph knob adds great variety and tone controls work well. I have played it through 3 similar 1×12 open-back pine cabinets with Celestion Rocker 50, V-Type, and WGS ET-65 speakers. It sounds different with each one providing their own character. My previous right-angle instrument cable did not fit well with the input location and upgrading with a straight Kirlin cable was a noticeable improvement. The amp sounds good with a 1994 Fender Am.Std. Strat – getting nice clean and bluesy tones. Mostly, I've played a 2014 GLP Studio with 490s. With the Gain at 12 o'clock & Volume on 10, the Overdrive channel provides a nice, well, overdrive. The cleans are nice – clear and chimey. With Clean Volume at 3 o'clock, to match the gain settings when channel switching, it gets a bit dirty when guitar volume approaches 10. The Master allows you to get the tone you like and adjust the volume. With the above settings, the Master on 1, the amp is pretty loud in a 24' x 16' room. I have found it responsive to volume and tone adjustments on the guitar and pick attack. The reverb seems good (set on 1), but the cabinets with their location provide a certain amount of reverb so I have a hard time telling how effective it is otherwise. I really like this amp! It is quiet and can produce a variety of very nice guitar tones. I'm hoping the Infinium technology eases future tube changes and lets me know when it is needed. I will be using the amp at home so can't speak to its roadworthiness or relative loudness in a band setting. Worth checking!C-ville Brent
Got this as B stock, and since I repair amps, I took this amp apart and tested the tubes. The tubes are Tung Sol reissue copies and they sound great—let them break in first, give it about four or five months of intermittent use. You'll be very pleased with the results, I can tell you, the sound stage and head room are outstanding, the EL-34's positively purr! I had to remove the lead free solder from all of the tube sockets, as they turned out to be cold solder joints (ergo, why I got a deal on the amp, as a B stock customer return.) I bought this amp based on the good print reviews and the way it sounded in you Tube reviews. I did a lot of homework and finally placed my order. I was excited when it showed up at my house and plugged my Jay Turser Les Paul copy right in. Boy, is this thing dark! I turned all the tone controls to 10. I changed the strings. I removed the covers from my pickups- that just made it dark and tinny. After three days I decided that I had to either send it back or make some changes. I took the speaker from a Squier 15 amp and installed it in the Bugera. Right away there was more life and clarity to the sound, though it still sounded tinny (because it's a speaker from a Squier 15), but it was some progress. Next I pulled tubes from a circa 1959 Curtis-Mathes console stereo and swapped them into the Bugera. Now we were getting somewhere- the overtones, the reason we use tubes, were now present and accounted for. The same console is full of Oxford speakers, which are a Jensen knockoff and well respected. I took an 8" from that and installed it in the V5. OH YEAH! Now this is a great little amp. The clean tones are super sweet, clear, full and bell-like with tons of sustain. The overdrive has a huge range of grit, and the reverb is better than any other amp I've had. So after installing a set of +/- 60 year old tubes and speaker, it sounds great. But out-of-the-box stock, I would have sent it back, no question. If you have a too-bright guitar or are willing to make upgrades, this amp is a super value. My one complaint about build quality is that the wattage selector switch is extremely touchy- it goes from .1 to 5 watts and has to be fiddled with to get it to stay on the 1 watt setting.Farmhand
This week I bought a duellist overdrive pedal from king of Tone, the Revival Drive from Origin Effects and this lovely little amp. The two pedals cost nearly £700 between them and the Bugera only £189 but my favourite tone comes from the Bugera itself largely because the built in attenuator allows you to really cook the single valves at pre amp and power amp stage without annoying the neighbours. This makes the Bugera a lot of fun. It’s tone control could be improved to raise the brightness but for the price I’m not complaining. This is definitely more of a British than an American tweed sound. And the addition of pedals – which it takes well – can potentially increase the brightness. The onboard 8 inch speaker is fine for practice and the amp is just about portable enough to use for travel. The speaker jack is accessible on the back panel, so it can be swapped easily for a guitar cabinet if you wanted to gig this machine or open up the sound (it’s 5 watts can still be loud enough for small venues). If, like me, you have been dependent on fender amps for home playing and you want a good alternative ‘Marshall’ sound at bedroom levels, then look no further!
Perfect at home tube amp. I generally use 1 watt mode. Great tone whether clean or breakup. Loves my telecaster and Boss BD-2 into it, and takes pedals great in general. Couldn’t get over how nice it looked when I unboxed mine, either. Beautiful looking amp on top of sounding great. Really an incredible value. I picked this up for my son so he could practice around the house. Killer stocking stuffer! When the son is away the dad will now play. I started playing my Mustang Bass through this and it did the job. It's a small amp, not a practice amp. This is perfect for camping trips, rocking at the office or kicking it in the backyard. Took a chance on this and purchased it without every playing it. Watched video reviews on it and gave it a shot. Yes, I know that it's small in size, smaller than a kids lunchbox but I hoped it'd produce quality sound and what I got was muddy sounds at increased volumes. It's not clear sounding and my goal to play through an amp is to sound good and I felt if I actually played this in front of people, the muddyness would make me sound amateurish. So, for what you pay for this, yes, you get amplified but it's not real great quality, unless you're a metal player because you don't get a clean sound from this. I rate this 3 stars because it's convenient to have a portable battery operated tiny amp that you can plug into and get sound from, however, the quality almost makes you not even want to play it.Jesse

It really does sound like the rectifier amp of Mesa Boogie, very nice harmonic overtones. I use it with a 1 x 10 with tuning ports that performs like a 1 x 12 with a Celestion G 10. At full volume it was great for a large room and sounded well enough to record. Turn the gain down and it cleans up quite a bit. Effects loop works fine and it also has a 1/8' input, too. It also worked without any noise through my modified sine wave solar power and humbucker guitar. Amazing little 5 x 3 x 3 amp. This is the sound I wanted!!guitarboy7
I find the amp works as described only problem I have found is trying to find a speaker that works with an amp of this size. I'm sure there is an 8" in guitar speaker that would truly bring out the tonality of this amp, but I haven't found it yet. Besides this point everything works just as described. Maybe a link from the manufacturer or a speaker box they could make and sell separately would be helpful. For me it would faster and cheaper to buy a more expensive lunchbox style amplifier that works with sll speakers then hunt for a speaker that compliments the amplifier.convdart440

This has to be one of the best stamps I've ever had with the exception of one little hiccup. This is replacing a Fender Blues Deville, which I absolutely loved. I had access to almost every Fender amp when I bought my Blues Deville and it just spoke to me. Well, they don't make Blues Devilles anymore, and I knew the Hot Rod Deville existed, so I went for it. To my ears, it's the same as my previous amp. This is a two channel amp in which each channel is independent of the other with the exception of the tone knobs, which are the same for both channels, which is not a problem for me. When I plugged it in, I couldn't believe how incredible it sounded clean. It absolutely blew my mind. I used both a Stratocaster and a Les Paul. Then, I took the second channel and add a little bit of gain to it, which distorted it. The distortion on this amp is so creamy that I don't even need to use my TS9. It has to be one of the best distortions I have ever heard from an amplifier. I usually use an Orange TH30C for my distortion. My Fender amp was always a clean amplifier. I may be using this one for the distortion and my Orange may get sidelined. The reason I'm giving this amp four stars is because of the following; when you go to switch channels using the included foot switch, there's a loud pop that happens every time you switch channels while you're playing. Apparently, it's inherent to the amplifier. It's the only reason I cannot use this amplifier with clean and dirty at the same time unless I use a TS9 on the clean channel. That really was not a well thought out process from Fender. For the price of this amp, I would think that problem would've been fixed, but it is what it is. I still love the amplifier and I'm still glad I bought it, although I will have to use my Orange when I want a distorted sound.Chuck
I bought my new Fender Blues Jr v4 about 2 months ago from a guy who decided he was more of a "Marshall Guy After All" so I got a bargain, but that was just the beginning. I wanted to spend some time and several sessions playing with this thing before I rushed into a review, but it turns out my first impressions have been even more reinforced since playing this thing for several hours, and the big word here is WOW. I have been playing for over 62 years (that's right, got my first guitar at 7) and bought my first Strat in high school. I've played and owned a LOT of different amps, and even now I have a few pieces for which I have some sentiment, but now it seems I will have to seriously reconsider. Good thing there is no "Amp Limit Law", but if there was I could finally happily liquidate all the others if I could have just my new Blues Jr. I have read voraciously for years about concepts such as "touch sensitive", "controlling breakup with the guitar volume", "takes pedals well", etc. Turns out these have only been myths to me all this time until now. Everything good and superlative that's been written about this amp is absolutely true. The preamp section is like pure magic in shaping the tone and delivering it to my favorite-EL84 power amp section. I have never been a fan of the usual Fender tube lineup, and when I heard this runs EL84s I was already excited. I am still a Strat guy to this day and love everything about it. But I have never even dreamed it could sound so good. I have an Egnater Rebel 20, a vintage Crate 15 watt blonde with a Dr Z speaker, and my prior favorite-a 5 watt Epiphone Valve Jr into a 12" Eminence Lady Luck. I have some others, but nothing I own or have owned can even come close to this thing. And what has been said about the Celestion speaker choice is again, absolutely right on. Simplicity itself, with great tone and a big sound from a small package. I've a few amps, ranging from heads and cabs to combos, but had a hankering for a small tube combo – one that could do a rehearsal if needed. This has a great sound with a 335 and a Telecaster, and so easy to dial in a fantastic tone – infact hard to get a bad tone. Plenty loud enough, I would happily take this out and gig it. I love the fact you can unplug the internal speaker and plug it into a cab, makes it a great package. No perceivable noise when winding it up, and the stock speaker is great, good tight bass and nice and chimey on top. Seems solidly built, but I guess time will tell on that front. This is the amp and tone I have been in search of. It has plenty of gain for metal and the EQ dials in nicely. The clean channel is excellent as well. You will not find a better amp for the price, what a killer value! You could potentially spend a lot of money on an amp of this caliber, but probably won't get any better tone quality for spending lot's of extra $! It has all the knobs, bell's and whistles that you'll ever need, including a four button footswitch; clean, crunch, lead and FX/boost. There are some bad reviews on Bugera amps like when an expelled tube blows a fuse and someone thinks that it deems It a piece of junk. Be prepared this amp is bulky heavy but sounds beautiful. The clean channel crisp clear. The crunchy gain is FLIPPIN CRAZY great tone. And for the lead channel well its the same depending on how you have your settings. All IN All i am very pleased with this amp and it can only get better with tube modifications. so if you want to blow the doors off of your house then this is the amp!dmenezes99

It sounds great as a practice / studio amp. You can unplug the internal speaker, and plug in an 8 ohm cab, which makes it sound larger than the 8" speaker. The cab is solid wood, and cosmetics were perfect. I am fortunate to have a selection of amps that have been collected over the years. To me this amp is for someone that is looking for good tone at a reasonable volume for home practice, or a quick grab and go for an informal, low volume jam / rehearsal / audition. This will do anything and everything great except play an arena or large stage without being mic'd. Without pedals sounds great, breaks up nicely but at different volumes depending on single coils vs HBs, and the low vs high 1/4 input. The natural breakup and sensitive pick attack are what makes it so special vs other amps. I love the concept of only a volume control to preserve the power of the tubes/circuit and it is powerful. It would suffice in 4 piece jam space without needing mic'd. A boost pedal would definitely help. With the selection of pedals for gain stacking available today, why aren't more powerful modern amps designed this way. In front put a tuner, an EQ w/ boost, your choice of dirt, reverb and delay and BADABING. IMO all amps should be designed this way; one knob and let me have complete control over EQ with pedal in front to maximize power. Makes sense. My favorite pedal chain into this amp is Tuner>Tumnus>Xotic Souldriven>EQD Dispatch Master. I have yet to feel like the amp flubbs out at any volume, at max volume the speaker remains really tight and clear not to be confused with clean, it's definitely beautiful dirty girl to me and that's how I like 'emSantafemikez

To be honest, when I opened the box and saw the actual size of the amp, I thought, "Save the packaging. It's going back." For the money, there's not a lot here. I have a bunch of low wattage, boutique tube amps – Tweed Deluxes, Tremolux, hand wired Princeton's, brown Princeton's, even the Magnatone Panoramic in stereo. I didn't think this Starlite would make the cut. Then I plugged it in. Holy cow! This thing is a blast. Absolutely killer tones. It rips. It cleans up well. It's inspiring. It handled my Strymon Flint (reverb / tremolo) in the front end beautifully. I doubt an overdrive pedal would improve the natural break up on this little dude. I didn't bother. I just used my volume knob on the guitar. If there a more dynamic, low wattage amp that won't rob you of your hearing, I don't know about it. I couldn't stop playing it. For the bedroom / living room guitarist, it would be hard to do better. It doesn't need to be loud to do it's thing. But it does seem to be a robust five watts. For the gigging guitarist, I think if you're mic'ed up with a good mix in the monitor, you'd be more than happy. I'm going to mic it up for rehearsal this week. If that doesn't work, I'm going to try my Boss Tube Amp Expander in to a bigger speaker cab. I'm motivated to use this. But if I can't, this is definitely going to be my go-to recording amp. It's Tweed-y, it's Deluxe-y, it's even kind of Marshall-y in the Bluesbreaker sense. Most of all, it's just fun. They dropped the price on these. Get one while you can!

I have several rehearsals and a few gigs under my belt with the Pano. I feel confident that I now know it well enough to write a review. The first thing I'll say about this amp, and it's true with all the Maggies I've played, the EQ section is more dynamic in its range and curve than your standard Fender variant. You have to spend time with your guitar of choice while twisting the tone controls on this amp to understand. This is a very clean amp. But it's not exactly "clean" in the JC or Twin Reverb category. It's super clear and defined with a hint of grit that goes where your pick attack and playing dynamics want to go. If you hit harder, it responds perfectly – but still maintains its clarity. Sloppy players will be revealed. Clean players will be rewarded. Note and string definition is just stellar. The Pano is also much louder than every other 12-watt amp I own. If you want a ton of clean headroom in a 2×10 stereo format, this is hard to beat. It doesn't break up on its own until you're well in to the upper decibels. Honestly, that tube saturated break up occurs when it's too loud for the folks I play with. A good drive is pedal is essential for playing rock or blues. However, the vibrato is so good, I tend to leave it on more often than not and adjust controls accordingly. It does surprisingly well at adding that extra harmonic distortion that inspires you to play your best. You may be able to leave the drive pedal at home. If you're a classic country player or playing pedal steel style licks, this amp is probably all you need – for pedal steel, it's better than my Twin. (But I'm a student level steel player so buyer beware on that bit of advice.) The reverb and AM / FM vibrato are beyond fantastic. The stereo spread certainly helps. The stereo field isn't huge like running two amps but it's full enough to take notice. If you're in the sweet spot in front of the amp, it sounds "amazing" with the vibrato pulsing. I used quotation marks because I really mean "amazing". It's truly panoramic. Just like a hi-fi system, when you leave the sweet spot, you can't detect the stereo imaging. As a pedal platform, it's a lot of fun. I run a Fulltone Tube Tape Echo in to it at the rehearsal space and wow, pure joy. It's addictive. However, at this price point I would prefer the option of an effects loop but that's not really a thing in the 12-watt world. Ultimately, the Pano is a very different amp, a very good one. I see no resemblance to tweeds or Princeton's as some have mentioned. I see even less resemblance to the Vox or Marshall sound even though it's an EL84 based amp. The Pano is it's own beautiful thing. It truly is a high fidelity experience. Advanced players will be rewarded.

Overall: I didn’t buy this from zZounds. I bought it from harmony when it was released. I’ve had it for a couple months now and I love it. It’s perfect for the bedroom. It’s got an effects loop and takes pedals really well. It likes les Paul’s and strats. It has power settings so you can attenuate. It looks great. It’s really the perfect amp for bedroom players. And a Italian Jensen. You can’t beat it. It gets better and better as the speaker breaks in too.
I buy a ton of stuff from AMS and this amp was next on the wish list. I bought the 1×8 but most people think it's the 1×12. It can be surprisingly loud for its size and not at all boxy sounding. I was looking for a tube amp head and a 112 cab. Like a lot of people I don't have a ton of money to spend, but I wanted something that would work for what I do. When I got the amp it worked and as advised a let the power tubes warm up before I used it. this is a list of features I really like. 1. A good built in reverb. 2. An effect loop. 3. A switch for 4,8 and 16 Ohm speakers. 4. Came with a foot switch that that controls the channels and turn the reverb on or off 5. Two channels. A clean and a dirty. 6. Responsive tone and volume knobs. 7. Four pre-amp and two power-amp tubes. 8. The Infinity self bias feature for changing tubes. 9. One of the best clean channels I've ever used on a tube amp. 10. Works very well with pedals and effects units. 11. A indicator in back to let you know if the tubes need to be replaced. 12. A great price for a 50 watt all tube amp. 13. Looks great, almost like a Vox Night Train(which I believe Bugera modeled this after). 14. Works extremely well with the Burgera 112TS cab. Great cab by the way. 15. Has a fat switch which is helpful for people using single coil pickups in their guitars. These are the thing I didn't care for. 1. A fairly bad dirty channel. It tends to get fizzy sounding when bring up the gain. 2. The Tone Cut Knob in my opinion is pretty much useless. It kill your tone and sounds like a wet blanket was put over the speaker or speakers. Maybe if you use it slightly I could see a use for it, but you're better off using your EQ and/or adding an EQ to your effects loop. 3. The stock tubes aren't that good, but then again you can't except much for an inexpensive tube amp. I love and enjoy playing different kinds of music, but I love my metal :). I put in a set of GT 6L6GEs, a EH 12AX7 in V1, a Tung Sol 12 AX7 in V2, a EH 12AX7 in V3 and a EH 12AX7 in V4. This cleaned up the fizzy sound and tightened up my tone, but you still need separate overdrive and compression to put this amp in modern metal territory.Realmofreal
I have had the G20 for a couple of weeks and it has exceeded my expectations. I have had over a dozen amps in the past few decades, mostly solid state combos. One exception is an Orange Micro Dark hybrid I still own. This is my first all tube amp, and to me, the G20 provides "better" tones than any of my others. The G20 feels well built, with metal knobs & switches, solid connectors, and nice tolex with everything straight. The Morph knob adds great variety and tone controls work well. I have played it through 3 similar 1×12 open-back pine cabinets with Celestion Rocker 50, V-Type, and WGS ET-65 speakers. It sounds different with each one providing their own character. My previous right-angle instrument cable did not fit well with the input location and upgrading with a straight Kirlin cable was a noticeable improvement. The amp sounds good with a 1994 Fender Am.Std. Strat – getting nice clean and bluesy tones. Mostly, I've played a 2014 GLP Studio with 490s. With the Gain at 12 o'clock & Volume on 10, the Overdrive channel provides a nice, well, overdrive. The cleans are nice – clear and chimey. With Clean Volume at 3 o'clock, to match the gain settings when channel switching, it gets a bit dirty when guitar volume approaches 10. The Master allows you to get the tone you like and adjust the volume. With the above settings, the Master on 1, the amp is pretty loud in a 24' x 16' room. I have found it responsive to volume and tone adjustments on the guitar and pick attack. The reverb seems good (set on 1), but the cabinets with their location provide a certain amount of reverb so I have a hard time telling how effective it is otherwise. I really like this amp! It is quiet and can produce a variety of very nice guitar tones. I'm hoping the Infinium technology eases future tube changes and lets me know when it is needed. I will be using the amp at home so can't speak to its roadworthiness or relative loudness in a band setting. Worth checking!C-ville Brent
Got this as B stock, and since I repair amps, I took this amp apart and tested the tubes. The tubes are Tung Sol reissue copies and they sound great—let them break in first, give it about four or five months of intermittent use. You'll be very pleased with the results, I can tell you, the sound stage and head room are outstanding, the EL-34's positively purr! I had to remove the lead free solder from all of the tube sockets, as they turned out to be cold solder joints (ergo, why I got a deal on the amp, as a B stock customer return.) I used leaded solder and since I have been soldering for over 43 years of my life, the work turned out very nicely… Surprise! The amp sounded far, far better than it had originally, if you have the skills with solder wick and a soldering iron, give it a shot, you won't regret it!! 99% of the problems with these amps are simply due to the tube sockets being hand soldered incorrectly, the main board, which is wave soldered, is 100% perfect, even with the lead free solder used. The Fender to Marshall ISF pot works, interesting tones produced by this, you'll enjoy the results… The PC boards use surface mounted components, for the most part, so don't buy this amp thinking that you can modify it that easily, you can't and it really is not necessary, the amp sings fine, just as it is!ejmendoza

Excellent build quality, brilliant sound. Separate tone controls would be better but "ISF" works OK. Only niggle is the OD and Voice buttons are too close to the rotary controls which makes it easy to nudge them accidentally. Encouragement to buy a footswitch I guess! What a cracking little amp! Great clean channel, takes pedals well and the overdrive channel with voicings is superb. I’m glad I went for the combo and not the head. I now have a portable amp that I can take around with me or plug in to a 1×12 cab when I want to crank it. Put an Xotic preamp in front and enjoy some amazing tones!!Glen H.
