Reviews:
AS it turned out, the Mahogony pieces were the exact measurement I needed to build two phone/kindle caddy from each piece with no wood left over. Perfect. Then I used several stains to have a variety of caddies to offer my friends and family — and they could choose the one they liked. The wood took each stain marvelously and I couldn't be happier. Thanks Rockler! You made me a hero.Frank
I ordered these boards with some heavy parallel clamps. They shipped in the same box with no other protection or packing material except for some brown craft paper. The wood was not wrapped or protected in anyway. The wood arrived with marring, chip out, and splintered edges. I was hoping to edge glue these panels to make a plaque but the two boards are completely different grain patterns and coloration (dark vs. light). Also these boards are supposed to be S4S but when put side by side there is an obvious gap. i will not order wood from Rocker again. There are other vendors that take care when shipping materials.
As evident in the photo this piece was both warped and twisted. Very poor quality control from the warehouse personell. To Rockler's credit upon emailing with the photo and a few comments a replacement piece was sent at no charge and arrived in 3 days. I received a piece of paduak that was in much the same condition but was able to make use of it on an end grain cutting board. FWIW, the replacement for the mahogany was straight and flat, as it should have been on the first try.PHIL
2. Parts Express Knock-Down 2×12" Baltic Birch Bass/guitar Cabinet
Product Details:
This knock-down 2 x 12" baltic birch cabinet makes it easy to build your own custom guitar or bass speaker cabinet. constructed of high quality 9-ply 1/2" birch plywood, this enclosure is lightweight but extremely durable.
Reviews:
Very easy to glue. Well machined grooves and channels. The amount of time this kit saved me was tremendous. And with the current cost of lumber, this wonderful knock-down kit from Parts Express was economical. Per usual, shipping from Parts Express ROCKS!!!Ron D
Went together quickly with a brad tacker and a few clamps. Lined the inside with foam panels and installed Eminence Ca 10 – 8 ohm drivers. This cab is for bass guitar , Fantastic bottom end from this set up. I usually play with a pair of 15's but this keeps up with anything I can through at it.Randy
I think for the money, you can't get any better than this. The fit up was near perfect. This was my first attempt at building a cab and this kit along with the other available components on this site made it easy. I was skeptical about how it would sound but once I fired it up, I knew I made a good choice. Only thing that could improve this would be 13 ply. But that would also probably drive up cost. I also had to round off the edges myself. For someone without a router, having the edges already rounded may benefit this kit.mike

Reviews:
Very impressive construction. The only (minor) problem is the mounting hardware for the speakers do not line up with the EMINENCE speakers I put in. It's only a minor problem because TWO of four positions on the speakers DO line up and hold the speakers firmly in place. Very well built, great price, quick delivery time. Well done.James T.
The Quality is Excellent. I paid the high price figuring I was helping a small American company make it thru these Covid times. I believe it's made overseas, not the end of the world, still helping somebody. There are many struggling Musicians and gear companies at this time. I rotate an Eminence Texas Heat and a Vintage 30 and they both sound great cranked up and at low volume with many different heads pushing it . I'm satisfieddatie_28
I was looking for a horizontal 212 cab and found your company. This thing is great!!!! I installed a couple of speakers I had and it matches my guitar head just great!! Quality built and should stand a lifetime of playing. Price was right also. I could not have built one any cheaper that looks this good. I will be adding a carry strap to top but that is my only negative. Great job everybody!!WILLIAM T.

Reviews:
I bought this speaker cabinet to complete a stack (of sorts). I bought a Peavey 50 watt amp that has 4 X 10 inch speakers in its cabinet. I like the classic look, but I like the versatility of the amp. An alternate version of this amp has a 2 X 12 inch speaker option. So, I thought that this cabinet with its 2 X 12 inch Celestion speakers could be an alternative speaker set up, when the 4 X 10 inch set up was disconnected and it is plugged into the output. The is also an extension speaker output with this amp, so both sets of speakers can be connected to the amp at the same time, if desired. So, this is suppose to be about this speaker cabinet, and the bottom line is that it is a good overall unit, and has a classic vibe with the tweed exterior covering. I was more interested in the speakers that were in this unit, which happen to be Celestions. They work well with the amp. I think that it depends on the venue as to how to set the amp and speakers up. The other thing that I should mention is that the 2 X 12 speaker cabinet can be separated from the combo amp and there can be a broader sound spectrum. I will say that I was a bit concerned about the unit being made in Vietnam, but, the quality control is very good and the unit will be around for several years.Noone
Mostly using this for studio applications. It comes standard with one g12 t75 and a vintage 30. I've been using a fathead and a 57 on each speaker. 4 mics on that cab literally sounds like I have two different cabs in the other room and they sound awesome. Very happy with this peavey 212c!!!Babbylon Soumd
Overall: Great cab from peavey, the speakers pair up great together. The tone is awesome. It's not too heavy, works great with my JSX head. Overall Build quality, grill and covering are very good. It also has a removable back Wow!!! A great product from Peavey with some of the best speakers on the market.Johnny
6. Rockler 24" X 48" Walnut Plywood, 1/4" Thick
Product Details:
These walnut plywood panels offer excellent strength, dimensional stability, and screw holding ability. ideal for projects where shrinking, warping, swelling, or splitting are a concern. all are high quality a2 grade precut plywood panels with both faces in walnut. all panels measure 24"w x 48"l, and are available in 1/4" and 3/4" nominal thicknesses. excellent strength and dimensional stability. ideal when you want to minimize shrinking, warping, swelling, or splitting. cross bands are made of lauan veneer. great screw, nail, glue and staple holding ability on the face; mechanical fasteners do not hold as well on the butt edges and ends. use for wall coverings, drawer sides and bottoms, and a wide variety of case goods such as desks, c13kitchen cabinets, fixtures, and fine furniture. sanded first with a 120 grit belt and then following with a 150 grit belt which eliminates burnishing and preps the surface for finishing.
Reviews:
Usually if a piece of plywood is dimensionally different from the advertised thickness it is stated. No advanced warning here. The 1/4 (0.25) inch was actually 0.195 on average. The thickness did vary some. On the positive side it is a very nice veneer except for the damaged corner.Richard E.
I bought three sheets, and it cost $10 extra PER sheet to ship, so my extra $30 dollars went towards the additional packaging to keep these items safe. NOT, all three showed up in the same simple cardboard box with no protection for the edges, nothing special, of course all the edges and corners were banged up. If you are going to charge an extra fee to ship, you should provide extra packaging, my extra $30 went toward basically nothing as far as I can tell. If your looking for a review on the actual product it was as described no complaints, but due to packaging concerns I am not sure I would buy again.Brandon
I really wanted 1/2 thick but couldn’t find it with actual plywood core. Others sold walnut veneer on mdf or the like. This was fine plywood with many layers and no voids. I am making a box so a more dynamic grain choice would have been a nice option. All said and done it worked fine and will be solid for years to come.Jarrod J
7. Zebrawood 3 Sq Ft Veneer Pack
Product Details:
Each 2/83" thick sheet measures 12" in length and 4-1/2" to 6-1/2" in width. zebrawood veneer has nice vertical grains with bold light tan to dark brown contrasting stripes. the contrasting grain can be tightly spaced or slightly wider but always an alternating light and dark contrast. zebrawood is an african hardwood that is hard, heavy and dense, with a moderately coarse texture and a somewhat porous grain. zebrawood veneer will accept finishes well. it can be stained but is usually finished with a clear coat that preserves the contrasting characteristics and beauty of the wood's natural color. please measure each piece carefully before starting any project. wood is a product of nature, and as such, no two pieces are alike to start with, while the same wood growing in different locales can vary greatly even though it is the exact same species.

All of the pieces were cracked/split. So none of the pieces are usable as whole pieces. Very disappointing. Otherwise I like the idea of having wood veneer like this and I like the color.Joe
Be advised the ebony veneer does not look anything like the photos on the website. The veneer that arrived was very pale brown and very stripy. While there is room for some difference due to natural variation this steps far outside those allowances. I contacted customer service and they assured me they would hand select a darker and more evenly coloured piece for me and ship them expedited – after about two weeks they finally arrived (far too late for the project I needed it for, so I had to source the veneer elsewhere) but it was even worse than the first set of veneers they shipped – even lighter colour, to the point that it hardly had any dark brown streaks, let alone black. I decided to just return everything, but it took another week of back and forth with customer service, issues with shipping charges and more until they finally agreed to issue a “refund”. The refund that came through said it was for $0.00. I am still in the process of getting my actual refund. Be wary.Wilson
Nice grade material. But I only needed less than 1 square foot for a very specific project. So the rest is wasted. Should offer to sell in smaller quantity like 1 square foot sheets.Painters tape

I bought this cabinet to scale down my live rig and man does this thing sound great! I’ve used it with my orange micro terror and as a speaker extension for my Marshall valvestate head. The sound is warm with great bass response and lovely overtones when playing clean. I’ve gotten lots of compliments on the look and sound and for the price you can’t go wrong!CT
Very disappointed in this cabinet. It looks good paired with my Origin 20 head, but that’s about it. Very harsh treble, no bottom end thump whatsoever, and really mid-rangey. I’ve had it for almost a year, and the tolex is peeling off. My Origin amp head sounds better with anything else than this. Now it just sits there unused in our rehearsal space. Would not recommend.Joey
I really like the vertical 2×12 design because the bottom is robust, but it is balanced by the angled top that directs the sound waves towards the ears. The speakers sound great, and are quite responsive and articulate. This cabinet is a worthy investment. I have several amp heads and I have used this cabinet with the Marshall Origin 50, Peavey 5150, Crate Power Block, Vox MV-50 Rock, Orange Terror Stamp, and an Epiphone Valve Junior; all sound terrific through this cabinet. I haven't had any issues with the tolex, despite not having the traditional corner protectors. It's definitely worthy of the Marshall name, and delivers exceptional tone, volume, and value in an easy to transport format. Equally useful for stage, studio, and practice applications.Shasal

Reviews:
I bought this cabinet with the intention of beefing up my Hot Rod deluxe which it did. The combination of closed back from this cabinet and the open back of the deluxe resulted in a much more richer sound not to mention that at 4 ohms with the cabinet the amp seems to be more responsive to my playing. It also looks cool sitting under the Hot Rod Deluxe III. It not only sounds great with the Hot Rod but with my 30 watt PRS amp head, a Quilter 200 and boy was I surprised when I plugged in my Mesa Mark IV. Awesome little cabinet for the money. Thank you American Musical Supply.Carlos Perez professional musici
This was bought to add an extension cabinet to my mesa boogie nomad 100. My nomad was a single 12 speaker with an open back cab and needed a little more bass. the sealed fender cabinet was the exact same dimensions and fits nicely under the boogie. Sound was as I expected, bass increase as well as a tight sound from the closed back cabinet. Also raised the nomad to a better overall height. Very happy with my purchase. I did not give it 5 stars for several reasons. 1) made in Mexico which I expected for the price but that is the problem! Speaker jack fell out of the back of the cabinet when I removed the cable. Compared to yesteryear and I have owned a lot of fender equipment construction was much better. To repair the speaker jack and not go through returning the cabinet I opened the back to see what holds the jack in place. Half the screws used to seal the back of the cabinet were to short and already stripped out. There were two different length screws used and none were long enough to do the job properly! They were #6 wood screws so a trip to Lowes for proper hardware about 8 duckets worth of new fasteners (went to #8 wood screws and new finishing washers) took care of the problem. The jack is another issue that will require a large fender washer and a new jack with longer threads. about 6 duckets in hardware to repair properly. The strips of wood that hold the back on are only pressed wood and one side was spilt open from not predrilling holes and forcing the screws to create there own holes when installed. This is a time saver at the factory but poor practice in my opinion! The front baffle that holds the speaker in place was held in with 6 bolts, nuts and washers. All were loose and if I did not retighten these the vibration from the speaker would have caused these all to come apart! So over all construction was less then stellar and about what I expected for the price. Still final quality checks should have caught all of this on the assembly line.Strat Blaster
I bought this to go with a Tone King Gremlin head. I figured a fender speaker would pair well with a fender clone amp. The enclosure is quite nice. The speaker however is not. I did read the poor reviews the celestion 70/80 gets online, they are spot on. This speaker is so shrill I felt like my ears were going to bleed. It has a pronounced mid scoop. Instead of returning I decided I like the fender box enough ( and the reasonable price compared to others ) and bought a different speaker. After swapping the 70/80 with a Eminence Cannabis rex, it really sounds great.Josh B

Sounds great, didn't expect to like the stock celestian speakers as much as I do. The weight isn't too bad either, not too bad when carrying up and down speakers. Pricey but nice.Joe
I brought a 1936 from here about 10 years ago. I am 50+ and have a steady working band. This cabinet handles all my gigs. We do 50s' though 80's music covering most popular styles of the eras and today. It is not a boutique sound but a classic/modern sound. Cleans up nicely and rocks pure Marshall. This cab has been a work horse for me. It is expensive but has held up well. The tolex has been peeled and re-glued many times but keeps on trucking. At my age I can easily pick it up and tot it around. Now the exciting part. My main gigging amp is an Egnater Renegade 65. What a killer sound! I use to use a Marshall 410h but it sits at home alone now. I also use two eg 65 heads and run them into the one cabinet stereo inputs for special effects. The Marshall mic's up very easily. I use a Sennheiser evolution e906 Dynamic Guitar Amp Microphone (flat off center) and a 57 (off axis and off center) on it for the big shows and sound men love how smooth and consistent the sound is. I am selling my 1960s stacks and buying a new 1936 only because my current one is worn looking. ( I will recondition this one for backup) Final comment – No cabinet gives the versatility, sound and power compared to all other cabinets. Thanks for your time Prof C. Phillips
This is the great alternative to the 412. Sounds great and I was pleasantly surprised that the G 12 T 75 sounded better than I remember. Theyre actually a really great speaker I can see why Marshall uses them as the default. Are they the best well, you decide.harleystattoosguitars

This cabinet delivers a growl unlike any 2×12 cab I have ever had. Its lightweight and brings big bottom to your tone. I switched the speakers to 1 wgs et65 and 1 wgs veteren 30 and it is amazing to say the least.

I'm running this with my 5153 lbx head and it sounds great. Can only compare to my peavey 1×12 with a greenback…the cab speakers seem to have less bass response but it was easy to bring that up. Overall, I would recommend to anyone looking for a great budget cab!Aaron C
Some genius at Line 6 decided to knock 6 cents off the cost to build this otherwise very nicely built cab by using cheesey nuts on the speaker mounts THEN using red loctite on them so you can never change out the speakers without stripping the mounts.Ruairi
I have one of these and the thing is tough that's for sure. I've had this particular one for about 6 yrs or so and Its been all over the place. You can really dial in some great tones with it. The classic line 6 tones are top notch in these pre-usb era models, true grit , smooth, and triply if you're into the acid rock type. Plus if you like earlier Metal this was the amp most young musicians were playing in the late 90's. I kind of prefer it over a lot of other amps strung about that may be because I am familiar with it though I think its because it reminds me of that time era and the sound is comforting . Really, I guess it depends on what you are using it for. Its quick and versatile. But… It is what it is and it will never be a Marshal JCM or one of the Fender Classics there is no substitute for them and they're not trying to be, but its a great intermediate-pro model and for $100 you cant beat these second edition Spiders. Rock on man!!juice_3311

Hi, I received the controller. I tried to connect it but I can't even play a game. Just a mouse moving around. I event spen a few dollars to buy panda controller Pro to connect it. But doesn't work at all. Pointless to buy this controller waste of money!eddilin-0
So pleased with this purchase. The unit is small enough not to get in the way but it's really flexible and the magnification is perfect! Excellent quality lens. The integrated daylight bulbs are an absolute boon! Just what I needed and I couldn't be happier. I would definitely recommend this product. Thankyou!jan53ele1
If you want to try diy guitars, this is a good starting point. Basswood can vary, but it can make a good sounding guitar. It's a four piece body, with a maple (I think) veneer on the front and back. It also is the width of a squier bullet, not a full width tele . That said, you can still get a fun to play guitar out of it, that sounds okay. It all depends on how much work you want to put into it.Robert
