1. Schecter Omen 6 Electric Guitar (Walnut Satin)
Product Details:
The schecter omen-6 electric guitar is an awesome metal guitar that you can play for hours, and adorned with classic high-quality schecter appointments. maple neck and basswood body maple has a uniform grain, it' strong and stable, and it has less reaction from environmental changes than other hardwoods. its tone is highly reflective, and focuses more energy onto the body wood. maple transfers a bright tone to the body which complements the warm tones of a basswood body. rosewood fretboard the most common fretboard, rosewood is naturally oily, and works well for any surface that sees frequent human contact. the sound is fundamentally richer than maple because the stray overtones are absorbed into the oily pores. schecter diamond plus pickups over wound coils with a ceramic magnet give this aggressive high output pickup the push that will send your amp over the edge. made for crunchy rhythms and blistering leads, and perfect for drop tunings. this pickup will cut through the mix with ease. schecter tuners these high-quality tuners feature a classic design in a lubricated and sealed housing to protect gears for a lifetime of maintenance free playability. details include a 15 1 gear ratio for smooth and precise tuning, removable knobs, threaded hex peghead bushing and a 10mm diameter peg hole. tom w/thru body bridge classic design tune-o-matic bridge with a schecter string-thru body tail, for added string tension, sustain and clarity. case sold separately.

Reviews:
First a much deserved word about Musicians Friend. Having made numerous purchases in the past year (5 guitars, two amplifiers & two sets of powered monitor speakers) hats off to Musicians Friend. They are professional, courteous and a pleasure to purchase from. They truly have treated me like a friend over the last decade and a half. My guitar arrived in pristine shape, no issues, of course. For me this is a beast of a guitar and cannot be beat, not even close, at this price range, nothing I've played compares. Love the sculptured maple top and head to toe creamy binding, simply beautiful. The setup was very good, slight string height adjustment, neck did not need adjustment and pickup height was good. Someone is paying attention with quality control. The neck is fast, silky smooth and easy to navigate, I can accomplish sweep picking with this guitar. Coil split is always nice with humbuckers adding to the available tone palate. Everything works and works well. Check it out if in the market for a very nice modestly priced guitar. Doubt you'd be disappointed.Stratocasterplusplayer
Totally stoked on this purchase. I was looking for something solid with an inexpensive price point and came across this Schecter. I've never owned a Schecter before so I was unfamiliar with them but they put some serious quality into this instrument. Feels good in my hands and plays really fast and it looks fantastic. I do recommend upgrading the pickupups but if you're just looking to play around the house with this, it's set up and ready to go. Highly recommendableSmooks
I understand why people call this a beginers guitar. Some the components are cheap and the guitar felt unfinishhed. I own 8 guitars. All of them are higher end Made in America guitars. This guitar caught my eye solely because of looks. I decided to purchase it as a project guitar. After receiving the guitar it needed to be properly set up. I straightened the neck, leveled and radiused the fret board, re-crownded the frets, filed the fret ends and rolled the edge on the neck binding. I proceded to replace the bridge with a Graph-Tech Resomax NV2, and the tuners with Schaller M6 ones. I replaced the tone capacitor with an Orange Drop NOS .027 UF. The pickups are versatile and offer a wide variety of sound. I now have a guitar that has a fast articulate neck and fret board, great tone and sustain all for $160.00 in parts and my labor. This is no longer a " beginers guitar" . The guitar has great bones and was easy to convert to a guitar that you would pay over $1000.00 dollars for. Good job Schecter!Hodigity

Reviews:
Sound: Sounds great. It does get a little muddy sounding on the lower strings but for the price I'm okay with that. Ease of Use: I play this through an orange tiny terror running an ibanez tube screamer and compressor pedal (I think it's an mxr, nothing fancy). The neck was pretty easy to get use to it granted i do have bigger hands. Quality: Only had it a short time but it seems pretty well built. Arrived in perfect condition and was packaged securely. Value: Well worth the price Manufacturer Support: Have yet had to interact with them The Wow Factor: Pretty much got this on a whim due to the ibanez r8 constantly being backordered. Sold me from my typical go to brand of esp. Overall: Bought this guitar recently being a faithful ESP player my whole guitar playing life. Was nervous about the bolt on neck but let me tell you this guitar is perfect. The neck is like butter and the longer scale is perfect. I read about the pickups not being the best but for the price you can't go wrong. Highly reccomend to anyone.Garrett
I looked around for a while to try to find an 8-string that wasn't bigger than me. When I finally found Schecter's offering, I was elated that it not only had a normal (not baritone) guitar scale, but it was also availible in another color besides black or white. I got the walnut satin finish. When it came in, it was more beautiful then the pictures showed it to be. I plugged it in and discovered how narrow the neck was considering the eight strings. Granted, the strings are a little closer to each other than many guitars, but it suits my plating style very well. By the way, the two "extra" strings are B and F# below the low E. The girl can growl like a a cougar if you want her to. What a voice range and tone range this baby has, and for the price, the workmanship is truly outstanding. Mine came to me flawless and already set up for playing. I didn't need to adjust the action at all. I tuned her up and started making beautiful music. For someone who wants to try out an 8-string guitar without going broke, this guitar is a good investment.
This guitar is awesome. I got the walnut satin version and it is very nice. It's way less red than the pictures show; I'd recommend googling the guitar to see real pics of it. There were no problems with it upon arrival. The setup was almost perfect too. The neck is very thin and easy to play on. However, being my first 8 string (and first Schecter), the width of the neck and the closeness of the strings has taken some getting used to, even after a month or so. Very hard to reach the last couple of fret, but going all the way up there isn't entirely necessary for everyone. The inlays are cooler than expected. They probably aren't pearl, but look like it. Hardware wise, the controls work just fine. The tuners are better than I expected based on other stock tuners I've worked with from other brands. The pickups are fine i think, but I don't have any other 8 string pickups to compare them too either. Overall great deal. The walnut satin finish on an 8 string really made the deal for me, but I was impressed with the overall quality for an entry-level-priced 8 string. I had read many forums looking for the best low cost 8 string and almost everywhere there were a few people mentioning the omen 8. Based on my experience thus far, I would definitely agree with them.Joe

Reviews:
This was set up to perfection out the box.(this has never happened to me ever!!!!) Great fret work,no sharp ends, no sprout, no buzz, but super low action. Make no mistake, this is a shredder made to look like a tele. Coil split works great, and u can get that classic tele sound in the middle position, but the bridge pickup roars. Nice warm sound with clarity. The bevel and tummy cut make this a very comfortable instrument. The neck heal has great fret access. Im just blown away by this thing. So much bang for your buck. The only thing i wish they added was locking tuners. Not that it loses tune, but they make for a quicker restring. The locking tuners on my nick Johnston Schecter should be on this. Dont let the low price fool you, this is a great guitar, even gig/recording worthyJake
Fantastic. Beautiful green finish. Licensed Bigsby works great, holds a tune. Nice pickups, bridge is on the kow output side a bit… no real death metal chugs. I play stuff ranging from NOFX to Reverend Horton Heat and this guitar is a real player. The coil-tapping also makes this a mean ska machine. My only complaint, and this is petty, is that they didn't do something a little more eye-catching than dot inlays… split crowns, or blocks I think could've really popped. I have some significantly higher-priced guitars, and I find myself enjoying this just as much as, or sometimes more than those. If you're more into playing stuff on the metal side, consider something else. But if you're anywhere from honky-tonk to hardcore, you could really enjoy this.Niles
Very happy with this guitar. This is my second Schecter, so I was expecting good things. They did not disappoint. Fit and finish are excellent and it was setup and still in tune when I took it out of the box. I got the metallic red one, and as mentioned by others, the pictures don't do it justice. It really looks good with the black pick guard. I am also amazed at how well it stays in tune with the Bigsby. The controls are straightforward, and yet they offer so much variety in tone! The split coils for the pickups are great. You can get anything from a twangy Tele to the warmth of a Les Paul, and everything in between. It's great how many different sounds I've gotten out of it in just a few hours of playing around. Can't wait to take it to rehearsal this week. If you're looking for an all-purpose guitar, this is the one.Don Gee

Reviews:
This is a really fantastic guitar for the price, the finish and feel of it are overall brilliant and easily comparable (if not better than) my Player Telecaster. All of the usual Schecter touches are there – great frets, beautiful neck etc. The guitar isn't perfect though – the neck pickup is a bit dark I fine but at least its replaceable. I'm also experiencing some neck dive when using with a strap – think it just requires a thicker strap but it's a shame because I'd managed to buy one that matched the beautiful finish perfectly! Overall – great guitar with one or two areas for improvement.Chris B.
This is tough. I've owned fender tele's, but I love this guitar. The bridge pickup sounds twangy er than any televive played, in my opinion. The pickups are just hot enough, without overdoing it. The neck p90 is, in my opinion, too basy sounding. But, the middle position, and pulled tone knob for series/parallel sounds fantastic for what I play. Not sure I'd switch out the neck pickup, as I love the sound of it mixed with the bridge.

Reviews:
As a Schecter user since 2002, I've been able to see their products improve from year to year. With this Hybrid Hellraiser, the build of this guitar is borderline flawless. A great combination of the SLS body style but the audio girth of their Hellraiser models. For a 7 string, it is about as light and fast as possible. Even though it's meant to handle the heaviest of metal, the neck is smooth enough to deal with a variety of styles. The stock locking tuners are solid as is my favorite EMG combination the 66/57 which provides all the goods. Headroom but gain, bite but warmth. To top it off, the looks of the guitar is as classy as possible. From whatever light is shining on it, the trans black is either a slight green, or a dark grey. So the personality of the guitar varies as much as what you choose to play on it. I've yet to own a bad Schecter. And this is the best one yet. It leaves all LTD's and Ibanez's in this price range in the dust.Druzovich
You do not have to spend $5,000 to achieve big boy vibe. The features on this guitar well exceed the price. I am pretty blown away with the impression it’s made and I just got it. After a good set up this guitar will gladly catch anything you thrown at it. You will definitely feel like a rock star with a Blackjack in your hands. The tone capability seems to be endless, I can’t really find an end to them. If you buy one of these, I promise you will be very happy that you did. Guitar dealers should be a little intimidated by this one because once you’ve got this one, you’re guitar buying fever will be quenched for quite awhile.Kevin
Overall: Ok lets start of with , I own PRS, Gibson, Fender, Epiphone… Never crossed my mind to ever try a Schecter . But i was interested in the Sustainiac pickup, so i took a chance and bought this model because i did not want the active EMG pick up , wanted active . Now this guitar is not cheap as you can see.
So here it is open the box amazed at what i saw, stunning guitar, Came set up perfect slight tuning adjustment that was it , the intonation was right on..Lets talk neck ..thin 'C' with a 12”-16” Compound Radius ..Are you kidding ? Reviews:
Sound: I think the Heretic pickups are a nice change to most stock pickups they are hot but sound great dirty. chords ring nicely voicing is excellent for metal and rock. Cleans up well too. But pickups could be a bit more dynamic. Great guitar if metal is all you want to play. Features: Quality control shows on the model I purchased it isn't very good. Gapping in the pocket from neck to body shape upper frets just wasn't pleased to be honest . Overall: I just ordered an elite 6 as well the fit in the neck socket is not good I could fit a good size credit card in there. The high frets were sharp and bit jagged and in need a dressing and crowning. A tool mark on the horn and in the gap of where it bolts on can't tell if it's scratched or cracked. I emailed zZounds today hoping to hear back and provide shipping back at no cost to me. Nice guitar but it has its flaws no doubt surely disappointed.ArmandoArmando
I'm not sure how one customer could have received 4 of these that were all bad…maybe a bit of exaggeration, or someone who just doesn't know how to setup a guitar. I've been playing for 37 years now, and have owned countless Schecter guitars. This one is on par with the best of them. For the money, any other brand in this category cannot compete! The neck plays very well and the fretwork is great! The tuners are stable and the pickups are decent. IMO, locking tuners would be more desirable and the pickups could be a bit more robust and clear as well…hence the 4 stars. However, that said, neither HAVE to be upgraded in order to play this guitar live or in the studio. You may need to tweak your EQ a bit, but that's a small price to pay for this guitar's playability and quality build. Grab one before Biden raises the price!!Shane S.
Overall: Ok, so I love the looks of this guitar! The pictures do not do it justice! The problem is that it had a loose neck bolt/screw. zZounds did great getting it returned, but I had to drive 86 miles round trip to ship it back. Plus spend $16 for packing material which I drove another 18 miles to get. The process is slow, which means I can’t play! It’s frustrating to say the least! Second guitar I bought here that had issues. Honestly, I don’t really know how it got past Schecter QC, but it did. Now I have spent multiple hours to get something right that should have been right from the start! Not to mention waiting. I think I will buy guitars from someone else in the future. Everything else I purchased here has been awesome. So for me, I will say that zZounds has been great to deal with, but until they actually do a multi-point inspection on guitars, I will buy those somewhere else.Joshua

A good guitar. It is very light and really fun to play. The design is amazing and it has a comfotrable feel.Panny
Almost impossible to set intonation… the only way I can set the intonation is to raise my bridge, lower my pickups, loosen my string, move the saddle, lower bridge, tighten string and I hope I get everything set to how it was…total pain. For the first time in my life I will pay to have my intonation set…not happy about that.Aarons55540

Reviews:
I have to say, this guitar is built amazingly well. Not only the finish, hardware, and aesthetics, but the fell of this guitar is fantastic. The neck is smooth and is a standard modern feel. But you still get that great vintage feel. The start like cutouts make it very comfortable and the angled neck plate where the neck and body are joined make this and easy player. The electronics sound decent and have some good tones out of it. Coil splitting makes it pretty authentic in the tele realm. And a convincing Les Paul-esque in humbucking mode. Overall I m very impressed with this guitar and it is really solid. The hardware was well beyond my expectations as well. I wanted a tele deluxe style guitar and I can happily and confidently say that this was the best decision for what I was looking for. I highly recommend this guitar. Feels like most of the $1500 to $2000 guitars that I have either owned or played over the years as far as quality.Barry B
This thing. I absolutely love the tone. At first I wondered if the bridge position was a little too far from the bridge for my personal tastes, but no. It sounds wonderful. The middle position is my absolute favorite, those deep bottoms and bright tops. The neck position is lovely for jazz and blues. When you pull up the knobs and coil split, you get a surprisingly bright chime compared to other schecters I have played. The neck is easy to maneuver, it keeps tune better than any guitar I own, and the bigsby is a perfect match for this work of art. Side note, this guitae is definitely a bit on the heavy side, and has little to no neck dive.Easa Lynn
