Best Reverb Pedals For Guitar (2024 Update)

Playing, recording, practicing, etc. This is high quality equipment, can definitely keep up with the best out there. Have a friend that has Strymon Big Sky, and he is going to get one of these, and an MS -3 also. Bottom line, you should check this thing out, of coarse I tweeked the presets right away, was able to pick a few and make them much better, just with the outboard controls. No problem getting good sound right out of the box, I always reduce the effect, and use my spices sparingly, most of the time anyway. Its not hard to go deeper into the controls though. Love running this thing in stereo, it can do Ambient off the hook, pretty much anything you need, it can handle. I have a lot of Wampler pedals, Pinnacle 2 Deluxe, Sovereign, Triple Wreck, Dracarys high gain distortion. All great pedals. TC electronics pedals, etc. Like to use the Hall of Fame 2 with it, and Flashback Delay. Very happy with purchase, of coarse built like a tank. Will likely outlive me, ha – – –Mr Tips

Strymon pedals are very well made with sturdy enclosures and wonderfully smooth controls with excellent gradation. I also have Strymon Sunset overdrive, Flint tremolo and DiG delay. Those are 5 star boxes for me. To my ears the Blue Sky is a very good bit of kit – but on this occasion is it worth the extra £80 or so above reverb pedals around the £200 point? Ultimately that is for the individual's judgement. I am happy with the Blue Sky, it is just missing something that I can't put my finger on.Reviewed by guitarguitar custome

It replaced all but one my other guitar pedals which I used to enhance my NS electric violin strung as a viola. Playing with a Fishman Platinum preamp through a TC Electronics"Shaker" into two Behringer Studio Speakers makes me able to play modern, traditional and classical music with great effects. The piece I have just left off playing is Bach's "Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring" with the mix knob just over half way – sounds like a whole group playing. Keeley makes two of the very best reverb and echo units. One is the Memphis Sun for the low fidelity tile room Sun Records '50s rockabilly sound. This is also excellent and high fidelity. I like the simplicity of Keeley pedals to get that classic reverb and slap back sound I love. I grew up adoring my father's Echoplex EP3 in the '70s. This pedal is so much fun. Well named as the combo of effects makes any small practice amp sound like you're in a tremendous cavern. I'm just getting started with my pedal collection, so my expertise is minimal, but this pedals was really easy to get the hang of. With the amount of Delay/Reverb pedals being released this pedal is breath taking! The 3 reverbs on-board are inspiring to say the least. Most reviews say this isnt a "just for a spring reverb" pedal however the spring setting on it is my favorite. Love the built in trem. The Shimmer is awesome but the shimmer setting has to be pretty high up for them to become noticeable. The Modulation setting is also very nice though I dont go to it frequently. The delay side is amazing as well. The modulation goes from subtle to extreme. This is a steal at 179.99 and its worth every penny!NRKB

There are a lot of full-featured reverb pedals on the market today, most of them with some sort of shimmer/octave/pitch-shifting mode. A few things set this pedal apart from its counterparts. First off is just the amount of control you get over the processed signal. Being able to mix the signal heading into the reverb circuit, the reverb unit itself, and then the final blend, lets you get sounds that are just not possible on 4-knob units. Everything from subtle to watery to full-on church-organ psychedelia. Next, you get three memory banks to save your creations. You could use Red for no-frills reverb, blue for slight modulation, and red for the crazy stuff. Or just save different flavors of crazy stuff in all three, it's up to you. Lastly, you've also got the option of running it in stereo if you'd like (which really amplifies the effect), plugging in an expression pedal for realtime control of the reverb, and also plugging in a two-button controller to make the buttons more accessible if the Descent finds a home at the back of your pedalboard. Title says it all, and this reverb still gets 5 stars. You can't really imagine how many unique sounds you can get out of combining 12 different reverbs, & you would never imagine the way they work together. I've got a long bow sounding reverb, mixed with shimmer, & the shimmer cleans it up so much that I can pick some blues with great clarity, while having an electric orchestra like sound accompanying me, without getting in the way of my playing or muddying up the sound. It's really remarkable. You need to have some aptitude with this pedal, it clearly has some nobs & alt functions, so be willing to tweak a little, or read the manual. Although it's also fairly simple to use, with basically 24 presets with the dual reverb. It is rather small for all it does, but I've got big hands and have no problem with it. This is a no brainer, amazing studio quality reverbs in a pedal.Jeigh

Got this pedal to pair with my OB-6 for some extra spacey reverb and am very impressed. All the algos sound great and the tweakabilty makes experimentation really fun, plus you can save your work to a preset which is huge for me. UI is very intuitive for such a small box and makes hitting that sweet spot a breeze. Never knew the joy of putting two types of reverb on one sound before this pedal. Definitely recommend.Merdoque

Sound: The sound is very lush and rich, without any grainy, static noise. Using it in stereo is not required to get good sounds, but you can really enhance the reverb wash by using a stereo setup. Features: The fact that you can save presets you come up with, and alter those presets without changing them once you have saved is essential for anyone wanting to use this pedal live. Ease of Use: Figuring out how to use this pedal is super easy, even without the manual in front of you. It is very user-friendly and intuitive, and it is easy to fix any "mistakes" you make while experimenting.The print is a little bit small, making it impossible to see on a dark stage. Wow! I'd been looking around for an update on the reverb front and having heard and read so many good reviews for the Source Audio I went with it. This little box is superb and not just on the reverb algorithm front. The reverb engines sound fantastic, this has kicked an Immerse MK1 off my board for good (I wanted presets too). The options available with having two reverb engines running are almost limitless. I'm a big fan of a huge hall reverb and this delivers without fault. Hugely impressed with the Swell and the E-dome too. The shimmer, for me, is much more usable than the Immerse and I loved the sound of the Immerse. Once you get this plugged in to the editor you can really see how far you can really take things. Changing the option to have 8 presets available, without midi, gives me more than enough to start with. I've only just started to get to know the Ventris and I'm very happy already. As Source Audio have tried to achieve, this pedal can give you a middle ground between a plug and play reverb unit which also does deep editing too. Believe the hype, this is an ambient tone machine. So many options and variations it's mind blowing. The shimmer when used properly is one of the best I've ever heard. Every algorithm is musical and useable. Pair it with the Nemesis Delay and wow, just wow. There are some potential downsides depending on your use case so be aware. To unlock the full potential you need to edit with either the phone app (almost useless now that most phones do not have headphone jacks), or the Neuro App on a PC. Also the number of available presets opens wide when you use with MIDI, otherwise you are limited to how many you can switch between on the box. Aside from these minor things, it's an amazing pedal. For the best results use in a stereo rig with a MIDI controller and be amazed!AJB

I actually sold my original Holy Grail and ended up buying the Holy Grail Neo because of the plate reverb – it's just so lush! I had looked at so many other reverbs (not wanting to repeat myself) but as a gigging musician who loves to tweak their sound mid-set, there is nothing better in this price range. I have to say I also tried the Oceans 11 pedal and was not impressed by the physical quality of the pedal. Also, the text on the pedal was barely readable because it is so small – maybe the Oceans 11is more suited to a home studio or someone who is still looking for their sound…Garry

Pedal has a small foot print which is good for saving pedal board space. one knob for the amount of reverb and a 3 way toggle switch (Spring, Hall and plate). Reverb range is really good and all 3 sounds are really usable. I use spring and plate for blues / classic rock and the hall for deep ambient sounds, when combined with other effects. overall very happy with this pedal, spent ages researching before splashing out the cash for this, but genuinely for me i'm happy with the return for the price on this unit. it;s one of those pedals that offers you insparation when you play due to the wide tonal range it has. overall very happy with purchase.Derek A.

Let me confess right up front, I'm a reverb lover. Some love it, some don't. I especially like a good reverb pedal when I play outdoors to add some of that room sound that I'm missing. This pedal is so direct and to the point. Three reverbs to choose from, all quite usable I might add, and the Reverb knob which controls the wet/dry mix. I don't have the time or patience to experiment all day long to get the right sound. I work full-time and gig on weekends. I need something like this Holy Grail Neo that is simple but effective. An added bonus is that it kind of matches my EHX Neo Clone. Right now I'm in love with the plate reverb but that could change next week. You can't go wrong with this pedal.Larry

Upfront…..it's a Keeley …and that alone tells anyone who knows pedals that it will be well built , decent sound quality and affordable…..but they missed the boat on this one and I expect a version 2.0 soon enough….the reverb and the delay cannot be stacked , either way , they can only be played independently. This was a big mistake on the design engineers or Robert himself. The gain/overdrive side of this pedal is excellent!!! And unfortunately I am stacking this pedal with an Oceans 11 while using their spring or plate modes. I will be pretty peeved if and when version 2 is released and the stacking in series or parallel is now useable. Otherwise I give this a 3/5 where it could have been a 4.5/5 easily!!!!!…….sorry guys …had to be honest …but I won't buy version 2 unless you take BACK this original version and modify it correctly!!!Chaotic Embrace Inc

What an incredible pedal! This is the perfect grab and go for the working musician. A wonderful solid blues breaker style drive and choice of delay or reverb. Both the analog and digital delays are amazing. I can't recommend the pedal enough. Donner Morpher is one of my favorite pedals now! Sometimes I like it even more than my Xotic BB Plus which is more flexible but I spent $200 and Donner Morpher can compete with it if you dont use two channels at once. It has very nice tone without extended mids like BB Plus but with more modern bottom which can be adjusted by the switch. With low gain it sounds more like overdrive though it's a dist. I also use Donner Compressor in front of it which makes it sounding more aggresively. I highly recommend it to anyone!VN

The first setting is an excellent small to medium room verb. The rest is only ok. If you want to just have a taste of ambience this pedal is good. If you want long reverbs like church or stadium this is passable but not great. And it has phase issues when you run it with other pedals.erik

However, as a hobbyist guitar player I was not as familiar with TC pedals as I was with pedals by other manufacturers (MXR, Dunlop, Boss, Ibanez, etc…). I've been looking for a good reverb pedal to run in my FX loop because the reverb built into the amp is pre FX Send and since I play with tons of gain I have a gate (TC Sentry – also amazing) in the FX loop and the gate was cutting off the reverb tails. I considered a variety of Reverb pedals but ultimately decided on the TC Hall of Fame 2 for several reasons. First, TC knows reverb, their System 6000 reverb is 13,000 without the remote, 15,000 with the remote. And they are using algorithms from the System 6000 in the Hall of Fame 2 – pretty cool. Sturdy unit full of good quality effects. This is the first "cheap" unit that has impressed me with its pre amps. It even manages a passable vox sound that others at this price point fail to achieve. My favourite things about this unit are as follows : 1. The amount of usable presets out the box. Even the more whacky ones can generally be quickly tweaked into something usable. Other brands tend to fill their presets with ridiculous over the top high gain, and what I would call low budget sci-fi sound effects. Boss have done a good job with the GT1. 2. Ease of editing. While you can access the effects chain easily through the menu system, the buttons along the top physically represent a typical effects chain. Press and hold for a second on any one and you are straight into the effect behind it for easy editing or changing to a different effect. Negatives: lack of an on/off switch. It switches on by plugging in an instrument cable – minor annoyance but that's just me. Only other thing is no battery indicator, and I seriously doubt the 7hr battery life claim. The supplied ones died after about 2-3 hrs and the duracells I replaced them with haven't fared much better. I do have a power supply but wanted to see how the battery's would hold up if I had to do a gig on them. Probably wouldn't trust them and would carry two sets as backup rather than one.David B.

This is overall a great pedal. This will give you a wide variety of tones and effects that you can personalize for whatever music you play. Other pedals will offer maybe one tone and you may have to try different ones and might not be happy with them or have to buy multiple ones and spend lots of money to have a well set up pedal board. You can literally spend all day picking out distortion pedals and feel lost on where to go. With this you can go through a wide variety and set it up however you want and save the settings. This isn't some plug and play kinda pedal. You will need to spend time with it and get to know it. It is kinda confusing and there are YouTube videos that help as well. I got more e set up with a clean tone and then a click over to distortion and and anther click on and of for a wha effectErik

The sounds are decent for the price. I downloaded all three pdfs are they are basically useless when it comes to setting up patches, adding an external pedal and the overall operation. I gave up on trying to assign functions to the FS-6 I bought with it. There are no real explications how to use the 6 assignment functions. I think the headphone output is mono as I can only hear in one ear. You can get some decent patches off of tone exchange I'll probably sell it .Kenneth

For a quarter the price of most reverb pedals this is incredible value. It has a comprehensive range of reverb types with full adjustment for each. Each sounds great and so far I have fpund nothing I disliked. The pedal is quiet, no unwanted hum or clicks and the bypass apears to be full bypass. Some may say that the plastic case is a put off but all the plastic cased pedals i have ever had have stood up well to normal use. I think that this would be the same.Colin H.

I bought the Fathom after watching many online reviews and on the recommendation of a friend (co-worship guitarist…he uses a lot of Walrus gear). All I can say is WOW! The richness and depth of sound in this pedal is great. It sounds better overall than my Strymon Blue Sky! This pedal can do anything and achieve any reverb sound you can imagine from the most ambient-wash to the shortest chicken-picking tones with ease. The 'hold' function is awesome to extend your reverb tail once you stop playing. The octave function adds a very usable dimension and all the regular suspects (Hall, Plate, etc.,) sound fabulous. Lovely Pedal although watching demo reviews would be more useful than what I can write here. However, there is a hidden delay feature which is not in the manuals which you enable by holding down the sustain and switching from hall to sonar mode and do the inverse to disable. It sparkles. It swells. It makes me swoon. With so many features I am still finding new swooshy tones to play with on this reverb. The momentary switch for swells (sustain) is amazing and a favorite when I'm digging into leads. 100% meets my expectations. I've had this for 6-7 months and it hasn't left my board. It's just as fun in the studio as it is on stage. I've been running vocals through it on "Sonar" for some amazing modulation effects on demo tracks. It's a fun little box. Good work Walrus.Jon

Great little pedal. I wanted to find something close to my Nunaber WET I use on my larger board. The hall and spring in the A7 sound closer than the basic tone of the TC mini reverb so its been replaced. The ambient settings are a bit extreme and I probably wont use them much but its cool having the option.stratomanme

Always heard a lot about the Holy Grail and the Soul Food pedals, and wondered what the fuss was all about. Found out.I have a half dozen od pedals ( Ts-808, BD,DOD) and they all have there place on the board, but this one has a different growl than the others. Not as brittle as the BD, yet not as smooth as the TS. Not overpowering, just the "right " amount. Needed a reverb pedal too.The Defender amp I use has Dark Vader spring reverb, but not on a foot switch. There is a switch that let's you choose between spring, hall, and plate reverbs, as well as a reverse reverb. The first three sound very good. Can't really find a use for the reverse though. Maybe it sounds different to me mites in Austrrrralia , since everything is supposed to be backwards down under. If I was stranded on a desert island and could only take one pedal, this would be it. Remember, life is too short NOT to have good tone!Gerald

I could spend all day yapping about this pedal…In my travels i've tried countless pedals, but got tired of having 'too many' pedals. The weight, the time it took to hook it all up. I also busk, or play where electricity isn't available, and wanted a setup where i could make one trip with everything, and keep the weight down. I've always been a fan of ZOOM products, so trying out the Multistomp series was a no-brainer for me. The 50G met all my requirements, and exceed them all after i got one and started using it. Tones that are as good as any higher priced pedal, the versatility is second to none, and the price is killer for what this pedal can do. I would say the the Bluetooth version was my favorite, then the 70CDR, then the 50G, with the 50G's new 3.0 update, the 50 G is now my favorite pedal…period. The 50G started with maybe 50 patches, now it has 172, and best of all it has the Exciter patch, which to me is required on any pedal board. All i can suggest is watch the countless demo videos of this pedal. I would recommend this pedal for any level of guitarist, i would also recommend the MS-70CDR, watch the demo videos of the 70-CDR vs Strymons…amazing I cant say enough good things about the 50G, i believe it's near the perfect all around pedal. The MS-50G pedal is first class. It is every bit as clean, quiet, and well built as the Boss pedals. It is not a replacement for the Boss line. Zoom pedals have a character of their own. Personally, I like the Zoom tone. But I'm not a guitar player. There is a great ~15 minute YouTube instructional video for the MS-50G. I got over the learning curve for writing and storing effects by watching this video, then I bought pedal. It replaces several pieces of my high quality studio gear when I need fast results that are of high level audio quality. Zoom delivers with this product. After I watched this video I purchased the pedal. I also like my G1X as a companion to this pedal. The G1X has a nice volume/expression pedal.Sean

I needed something for my living room and practicing while watching TV late at night without a full pedal board or multi-effects box. This along with a Boss RC-3 and a mini mixer for my wireless headphones provides everything I have in my studio at a mini level. The sounds are good enough. There are enough options in sound to play most anything. Eventually I'll try this little beast as a sub for my full pedal board and see how it works in a live jam. One pedal to do everything. It's not perfect but it is great. I wish Zoom would provide updates to it and a better manager. It's pretty old by today's standards and if Zoom provided updated files they would sell even more if these great little boxes. Sounds good. very practical tool if you want to cary a small pedal board you can fit in your hand. Great for connecting to your interface to record ideas for demos. The cab sim is good. I find it abit dark sounding but the eq fixes it. Comes in adurable metal shasi you dont have to worry about it breaking and even comes with it's own power supply which is great for this price point. The affects are controlled by a mix level- Agreat solution to saving realestate. Dirt starts with Gilmorish over drive up to hair metal and everything in between. A tap tempo and an aditional overdrive would have made it aperfect pedal but it's great as it is considerring the price point. I would recomend it to any guitar player or producer.tamikere0

Easy to use, nice chorus, nice reverb, delay is a bit touchy and difficult to adjust on the fly. The distortion is pretty good..when you engage the button, I get a lot of noise through my amp. I thought it may be a bad cable, but I have tried several cables including two brand new monster cables.same thing. Other than that, the pedal is fine. Does anyone have a suggestion about the noise issue? It is extremely annoying.gandkconn19461947
