Reviews:
It may sound funny, but your choice of plectrum (Pick) has a huge impact on the sound of your guitar! A heavy pick will produce a more mellow sound with less attack, whilst a thinner one will sound brighter with greater attack and have the flexibility that allows for faster picking techniques. Harder materials also impart brightness to your sound and increase attack. I choose Fender Thin picks because they are both hard and flexible and produce a very natural sound, at least to my ears. Fender have been making these forever, and for good reason – Just like the Stratocaster guitar, somethings just work better than others and can't really be improved upon that much. If you're a really heavy hitter, you might find yourself going through a few of these Fender THIN Picks during the course of a gig, but they are cheap enough, and it is a small price to pay for the benefits they bring, in my opinion.mark1964-6979
I bought this pack of Tortugas because I was attracted by the material, I thought it was a new celluloid color. In reality I was wrong, this material is definitely not celluloid, and I also made a mistake ordering the 551 size, which is much smaller than the traditional Fender shape 351 and with a sharp point. However I am getting used to them, even if they are more suitable for an electric guitar than the acoustic I am playing. Grip is good, there is no flexibility in the XH version I bought so it's quite good for fast passages, I would say it sounds slightly brighter than a traditional celluloid plectrum with less attack noise. The material looks beautiful and I already ordered a pack of 351 to compare.cuthbert_1978

Fender medium picks have always served me well. They are sturdy, feel good in your hand, and have just the right amount of attack for both rhythm and lead playing. I purchased the Ocean Turquoise set and can attest that they draw the eye, even if you're the only one who notices.Dustin
I personally like the Fender 347 Classic Celluloid (THIN) guitar picks for songs that involve lots of strumming in addition to a softer, quieter sound production as opposed to the Hard picks of the same brand and shape. These are also better for beginning guitarists as they are easier to strum a guitar. Sometimes you just want a quieter pick for certain songs similar to a drum brush drummers use for Jazz or certain songs that are better performed with a quieter, softer sound.irishkale
While I switch back and forth between the type of guitar I play and the thickness of the plectrum, I have been partial to Fender since starting the instrument 30 years ago. This deal is as cheap as they come so far. I've seen several posts that are for just 1 (one, uno!) guitar/bass pick for the same price. Unless it's from a concert by your favorite musician, your wasting your money. I lose one every time, so get a lot, and know beforehand what you need in terms of thickness, the music/tempo at which you play, and the gauge of string instrument that works best for you. An aside: there is an odor when they come in relative "bulk" as will all/most pics. The odor dissipates gradually. One pick doesn't smell but a ziplock bag full of them does. Fast ship. 4. Dunlop Ultex .60mm Standard Picks, 6 Pack
Product Details:
This is it, that one simple thing that can ignite your playing—the ultex pick. dig in and grind, then jump to delicate, fluttering lines. impossibly hard yet absolutely responsive, these picks will reveal every flicker of emotion in your playing and still add brutal bite to the heaviest power cord you can unleash. they’re also virtually indestructible, hanging tough through countless pick slide, windmills, and other insanity the revolutionary ultex material telegraphs the slightest contact, giving you an almost intuitive feel for the strings. with unprecedented resilience and snap, its release is so clean that individual notes sing out and artificial harmonics can be fired off at will. practically weightless, with flawless, silky edges, the ultex doesn’t emulate anything. it is what it is: the most versatile, expressive pick ever made. whether you’re crying the blues, racing through flamenco runs, or throwing down monster riffs, these tequila- gold jewels will be your ultimate secret weapon. forget everything you know about guitar picks.
Reviews:
This picks sound the best, no doubt. But people don't seem to be mentioning the fact that they wear down very quickly. I play the .73 on medium strings with my acoustic, and I run through these picks like its my job. I've even worn down a pick in a 3 hour gig.The biggest problem is that when they get worn down the edges start to crack and get tiny chips. This cause the pick to start catching on the strings while plying, which is entirely annoying. The other thing is that they create a nasty dust as they get worn down that collects on your guitar (like an electric, or in my case my Celebrity Deluxe Ovation, whose sound holes are not in the center.)I rarely write reviews , especially for picks. But I felt compelled to share this. I will keep buying them because I love the tone, but it hurts every time I have to. You should not have to go through that many picks that fast. So don't let that rhino on the pick fool you, these are not that durable.Nick-dS0_Y
Every guitarist has an individual style and a pick to suit. These are ideal for my style. The sharp tip gives the attack that I want. The profile is ideal for my fingers. The material somehow sticks to fingers better than any other material I've tried. These are perfect for me!wazzothemartian
I need to update my review. I never had the equalization I wanted on my amp because the amount of bass I like made the sound mushy, and the parametric had to enhance the high medium because not enough was coming out of the strings. However I would have prefered a hike in the low medium but then the high medium became hollow and flat.Well the Ultex pick solved all that. I don't have to boost the high medium, the pick takes care of that, so I can set the parametric on low medium and finally boost that region of the sound as I always wanted. I could augment the bass, too, to at last get the bottom end I craved for. I didn't have to modify the high setting. As a plus, the more defined sound makes the reverb sound better because it obviously no longer repeats the muddiness I used to have in my sound. The Ultex pick is the simplest and least expensive piece of gear to improve your sound. Beware that they feel more rigid than the Tortex of the same thickness, so use a .60 Ultex to get the feel of a .73 Tortex.Ben downwithtaxes

Reviews:
I am sorry to say this, but these picks are poorly made. They are sandwiched by two layers of shell-like celluloid and a white layer in the middle. The three layers are not well aligned, and the edges are noticeably rough. The sound is okay but by no means impressive. Actually they can harly compared to other picks at this price (e.g. Primetone Jazz III) in terms of tone and feel.xzm110
Great if you use a heavy pick, I have just received my second pack a very happy customer.bel-71

Reviews:
Calling these guitar picks the best ever is a bold claim right? I ordered these picks online just because I've needed some new ones and after purchasing a Gibson, I thought these picks would be fitting. I really like the Extra Heavy (XH) picks because they are comfortable and even hold up on a Bass Guitar; Which can't be said for all picks… The pack of 50 picks and the tin for the price is a great deal, however… What really sealed the deal for me is that the pick tin SMELLS LIKE FRESH CUT PINE. I opened the tin and was greeted by the pleasant smell of pine. I can't get over it. Bottom line is the picks are great and it smells wonderful.Dannie K.
I play metal primarily, and because of my enthusiasm for Gibson, I purchased these picks. So far, these are the best picks I've ever used. The feel is great, the tone is unmatched. The celluloid feels so smooth when I'm playing. I prefer thin picks, as the flexibility enables faster tremelo picking. The only downside is that, comparatively, these picks are expensive (as are all of Gibson's products), but of top quality. The tip wears off quickly, but I'm an agressive player and I use thin picks, so I guess that's inevitable. Great picks, try them out!Explorer85
I had purchased the Gibson 50 pic set because I have been using the Gibson Pure celluloid pics originally when I first got my Les Paul about 4 years ago. These are the closest good quality pics you will find to those Gibson Pure's. I love them because they feel right, play right and also don't change the sound. I can tell because I have a very keen sense of hearing. They're a tiny bit wider than the ones I used to use but it's not a problem at all. It's the same material as the other ones. These pics truly bring out the sound of your guitar and are great on Acoustics as well. I have been using these new pics for about 4 months now and completely satisfied. This set will probably last a lifetime. If you like playing Gibson pics, these are the ones you need to buy.

Reviews:
Excellent product that I would highly recommend. My challenge was I wanted a thicker pick so you don't get that flex while playing which makes playing articulate difficult. But other thick picks have that rounded edge which deadens/muddies up the sound. I also like the traditional larger pick size of Fender. The Gel solved my problems. I play the heavy to extra heavy versions but can still get that crisp ring and harmonics of a thinner pick when I need it – especially with distortion. But you also get the bass too. The other advantage of these picks for me is that they make playing effortless especially when playing fast. I play fairly light so I don't have the wear issues on these. Great product. If you use the sides of this pick – you won't believe how fast you can play – it will be your fretting hand that will have to keep up. These picks changed my playing for the better.Super 400
These picks are among my favorites. Easy to hold on to, great tone, easy to see if they fall on the floor. The light and medium/light (blue & green) in particular are not as durable as some other picks, but they do sound better than most. I like a pick that sounds clear & crisp and not muffled. I don't want a pick where the bass sounds muddy and these provide the tone I want. I like these much better than any other pick. The only other picks I really like as well are the Dunlop Ultex.Randy

I am developing arthritis in my hands which makes it more difficult to hold the pick firmly. I have tried several types including clip-on versions, and these have been the best I have tried so far. I can firmly grip and control the pick, which remains flexible for ease of use on acoustic or electric.Chris C
Im not sure if these are really a pick that I will continue to use. I havent used them enough to really know whether I like them better than other picks Ive used previously I was using Dunlop prime tone with grip picks and I really like them. These mojo pics are nice but Im not sure theyre worth the extra cost.nh-frank

Jim Dunlop seems undeniably the best brand so this is the ideal product. So, so pleased at this incredibly good price.KerryCOYS

My wife and I have an Assortment of Guitars and music genres we love to play. So to have this assortment of picks to play every style, from rhythm to lead these picks fit the bill at a price point it would be foolish to pass up. Been playing since the 60's and love the feel of these classic picks. Think you would too.buzz-r

I have small fingers and tried the size small first. Out of the three only one could be used on my ring finger, even after attempting to reshape them.I ordered the medium size next to see if they would work. They fit my index and middle finger but needed to be adjusted because they dug into my nail cuticle. I used my birds perch to reshape the pic after letting it sit in boiled water for 30 seconds. It helped some what but it still put pressure on the cuticle, but was bearable.. I won't order these again as they are sold now in pkgs of three the same size. Would like to see the problem with cuticle pressure fixed in the design, then I would order again.Bronco1
First the bad. They're expensive! They're also very difficult to size to you fingers. Unlike most plastic finger picks, which will soften very quickly in less than boiling water to enable forming to your finger size. These required a fairly lengthy boil with wedges inserted to open the pick. Yes,l purchased the largest size. They were very tight on my large fingers. Now the good. To me, they work like a long finger nail. I can feel the string with my finger tip and still get a nice sharp, clear note. I wear these reversed from a regular metal or plastic finger pick. Like for claw hammer banjo, which these would work well for also.601thompsonhouse
Finger pickers can use Fred Kelly finger picks as substitute for thin, brittle natural fingernails. Some players may need to modify them for a more comfortable fit, such as in the photo. Left, index finger, as received new, right, on middle finger, as modified w/Dremel. Works for me, may or may not work for others. Otherwise, a fine product.DD26RET
