Reviews:
I love this amp. Takes a few to warm up the tubes but after they warm up there is power for days it just has a great clean channel and the crunch is just so nice. You have independent resonance on each channel. And channel 3 just has a great lead sound. Then that effect loop is amazing no need to worry about turning on effects and hearing the effects kick in you just change the effect then hit the loops and it is there it also has the ability to change tubes but I love the el34s.Mark,C
Sound: My first one (made in 2016) sounded (and looked) amazing.. (also built like a tank). The new one.. not so much. Personally, I think the "green" channel could do without the Gain knob. Just let it be a Clean channel. The "Blue" channel has "almost enough" gain, while the "Red" channel's gain seems unusable once the knob passes 6 (tops). The gain structures should be compensated (preferably the same amount) on those two channels. The "Prescence" knobs should just be on/off "Bright" switches (I couldn't hear any difference between 0-8, then from 8-10 it gets slightly brighter). Adding anything to the effects loop adds a loud and low-pitched hum, on top of the unbearable hiss that's always present (even with a noise gate, which should be built into the amp anyway, and even with the volume at 1!). Features: Since I never got a replacement, I can only judge by the one I just returned.. The closest thing I can compare the "5150III-100S" to is the Egnater "Armageddon". It looks like the perfect "hard rock/metal" amp (on paper), but once it's turned on (esp. the Red channel), you WILL be disappointed.. (but, at least the Armageddon had a built-in, footswitchable, "Decimator G-String" noise gate). Ease of Use: If you did a side by side comparison between one made in 2016, and one made in 2021, I'm sure most people would notice the older ones sound better, and have much less "hiss", esp. with anything in the loop. Quality: Compared to my first one, the new one looked, felt, and even sounded, well, cheaper. I don't think this would've been an issue if Eddie was still alive. Value: The one I got in 2017, definitely. Now? Not at all.. At least not the 100 watt heads. Manufacturer Support: Every time I talked to someone at Fender, I got a different story, esp. when they were on backorder. At one point I was told they were discontinued ("They're called 'Limited Edition' for a reason.") before finding out they were shipping new amps out a couple months later. The Wow Factor: They still look cool, especially with red LEDs installed (DIY), but it doesn't make up for the shortcuts taken to rush them out to the public (plus the hiss, the hum, the seemingly microphonic tubes, etc.). Who knows? Maybe I'm just one of the few (well, quite a few..) people that got a sub par head that just slipped out the door unbeknownst to Fender's QC, and if zZounds sent a replacement (50 or 100 watts) that sounded more like the original batch, or perhaps better, this review would be completely different, and I'd go right back to buying damn near everything from zZounds. Overall: I bought my first one in early 2017. As much as I loved it, I didn't realize it's full potential until a couple years later, when I put my MXR EQ in the loop (alongside my Decimator II). Unfortunately, I had to sell it…fast. After saving back up to replace it, followed by a long wait (they were on backorder), I finally got another one.. from the new batch. Just a few problems….The price went up, but the quality went down.. a lot. Different tubes and components, the tolex coming unglued on the inside, loose (and uneven) pots, and a loud hum/"buzz" on all channels, but esp. the red channel, even with an ISP Decimator II in the effects loop, and the gain below 4 (I expect some "hiss" out of any high gain amp, so I've always used a gate in the front of the amp, and in the loop). It was NOT the same amp I once had. They completely rushed making the new ones, and skipped QC. (It probably didn't help that FedEx handled it, considering all the holes, etc. all over the box). I returned it, but not without being punished by zZounds, which sucks because they were my "go-to" site for amps and pedals for years. If you HAVE to get an EVH amp, just get a 50 watt head (or buy a used 100 watt made between 2016-2017) from Reverb.Joey
I've had this amp for about a week and I can already say it's the greatest amp I've ever heard. The green channel gives you some beautiful clean tones if you keep the gain low. The blue channel is great for classic rock and 80s metal. The red channel is insane, it gives you more distortion than you'll ever need! No need for an overdrive or boost. The controls are very simple, there's nothing complicated about this amp. Just plug in and rock!Rick

Reviews:
This amp is versatile and easy to use stand-alone. It has a great selection of amp models built-in, along with enough effect and delays so that you can find something that you like fairly quickly. I like the clean and boutique models with some reverb. Then I played around with the other models, adjusting settings and effects. You can adjust everything on the amp, not necessary to connect a computer. I did find it confusing initially due to all the different methods required, i.e. "press a button", "press and hold", "press for 2 seconds", etc. That's why I read the manual a few times! Line6 puts a nice 2-sided "cheat sheet" on top of the amp around the carrying handle which is a lot easier than flipping through small pieces of paper staring at small font printing. So don't remove the amp-topper sheet and toss it in the box with the rest of the packing material :-). The best feature of the Catalyst amp is the manual channel. This is WYSIWYG. Adjust the knobs and controls just like a "regular"amp. You can then save the settings once you get something you like. In the future I will connect the amp to the computer and see what else you can do. Right now I am quite happy with the Catalyst amp and I highly recommend it. Go get one!Gene
After suffering a disabling back injury I needed an amp that was easier and lighter to move and set up than the tube amp combos I was used to playing through. I never cared much for the solid state amps as they could never duplicate the warmth a tube amp provided and was considering retiring from live performance altogether. Then I heard about the Catalyst series of amps and decided to try them out and was amazed! My bandmates were as well, telling me how much more clean and clear my sound was. Programming channels was a snap ( just follow the "cheat sheet on top of the amp and read the manual) and the manual button provides the familiarity of a regular amp, and at a third of the weight of my Blackstar 40 watt tube combo I can continue to perform without dealing with debilitating back pain from moving a 70 pound amp. I was so impressed I went back to GC and got the 60 watt Catalyst as well for home and playing at open mic and jams. I couldn't be happier with these amps and am grateful for the help and guidance the folks at Guitar Center in Concord Ca. always provide.Stephen
I have a few amps that I'm selling and a couple that need work – I picked up this Catalyst 60 on a whim so I'd have something reliable and portable while I'm moving amps around my local used market – but I'm super impressed with this amp and am probably going to upgrade to the 100w model! (In fact, I'll get two because I play in stereo!) I found it impossible to get a bad sound out of this, I plugged in direct with my Vox Virage DC and tried all the possible pickup combinations and did not want to stop playing. Great cleans, great crunch. The higher gain amp settings had me revisiting the metal riffs of my youth, haha. I haven't dived into the software editor because: I haven't needed to. This thing sounds great out of the box.FitzG

Reviews:
The Dual Terror has all of the positive features of the Tiny Terror while improving on some of the weaknesses of its smaller counterpart. The DT sports 30 watts of class A tube power in contrast to the TT's 15. This provides more clean headroom for the user as compared to the tube breakup at relatively low volume that often occurred when playing the TT. Fortunately, the Dual Terror has variable wattage for those who like the early breakup or want arena crunch at bedroom volume. The DT may be run at either 30 or 15 watts via the "full power/half power/standby" switch on the front. The user can also drop the wattage even further via a switch on the back panel. The switch allows the user to power down two of the four EL84 power tubes. This allows the amp to be run at 7.5 watts when in the "half-power" setting. This versatility makes the Dual Terror an excellent choice for stage, studio, and anything in between. The amp gurus at Orange also added a second channel to increase the DT's versatility. The new "Fat" channel truly lives up to its name. This channel has all the sweet British tone of the Tiny Terror channel only warmer and fuller. It is a great addition to an already great sounding amp. The only downside to the two-channel operation of the DT is deciding which of the channels to use as clean and which for dirty as both have their own unique voice and sound great both clean and overdriven. The operation is incredibly simple, three knobs per channel, nothing fancy just gain, volume, and tone. Orange proves that you don't need a million knobs and switches to get great tone, just a well-crafted valve amp. Anyone in the market for great tube tone in a smaller package that won't kill your wallet should get their hands on one of these amps as soon as possible. Plug it in, turn it up, and let yours ears feast on some of the best Class A valve tone on the market today…Stanton H.
Bought my Dual Terror used without a case a few years back. Went without one for a long time because these cases were going for over $100, and I wasn't willing to spend that much on a simple cover. Just recently, wear and tear and constant gigging finally caught up with me, and a jack screw came off, along with a switch breaking off clean. Knew I had to buckle down and finally get a case. Luckily this one came at more than half the price. Fits perfectly, extra pocket is great for cables, and actually makes it easier to lug around. Thanks!noizewerm
Okay so i just picked up this awesome little amp the other day and i gotta say i love it! Now some people say this amp can do metal and hardcore music and some say it cant. Well my opinion was stuck RIGHT in the middle. I love the crunch and sound of the distortion. I felt like it was border-line metal though. I could play metal stuff on it and everything sounded awesome, but the chugging just wasnt good enough. EASY FIX! I bought the mxr boost/overdrive pedal and it solved EVERYTHING! It gives you that extra little kick that this amp needs to go to insane mode! I LOVE this amp now, i have it on top of a mesa boogie 412 with v30's and it gets LOUD! I can't wait to do my first gig with it! I wish it had a 4ohm output but 8 and 16 are provided. Its plenty powerful through 8ohms. I love the fact that it has dual channels too. For me i think the FAT channel is more suited for cleans and the TINY channel for dirty stuff. The only difference i could hear is the fat channel is more…well fat i guess. Little more bass maybe. Anyways i give this amp 5 stars and for all you >METAL< fans you might want to buy just a boost or an overdrive pedal (or the boost/overdrive) and get shreddin. One hell of an amp right here!

Reviews:
This is an amazing amp. Mesa Mark Vs are among the legendary and now I know why. Can run all the way from sparkling cleans to Metallica and everything in between (blues, 60s 70s 80s rock, etc) It has changed the way I play and in many cases made my distortion, boost and overdrive pedals irrelevant. For some people Vox, Fender, or Marshall amps make them really happy, but for me, this is it. Some tips: It has a lot of adjustability which makes it so versatile, so read the manual when you get it or you could get lost. Plenty of YouTube videos out there on how to adjust it. Also, with its small speaker and 25/10 watt adjustment it may appear to be a bedroom amp, but it's not. It is a very powerful amp and bedroom volume is just breathing on the master volume (less than 1 on the dial, if there were numbers) But all is not necessarily lost! My solution was to buy a JHS Little Black Amp Box volume knob and put it in the effects loop ($65) and the volume became very controllable while being able to crank up the tubes and get that amazing Mesa sound. I'd guess an eq pedal could do the same. The only question is which one is better for you: the 10' speaker 5:25 or the 12' speaker 5:35? Weight, size, cost, and use will decide that.Phil

Lightweight well constructed and great tone. Has Vox chime you want it and classic rock crunch. Nice looking head made in Vietnam. 8. Prs Sonzera 20 Combo
Product Details:
Prs sonzera 20 watt 1×12 combo black the sonzera 20 is a 20-watt combo amplifier with two independently controlled, footswitchable channels designed for maximum versatility and in the spirit of vintage amps that allowed you to control your tone instead of the amp being in control. the clean channel delivers full, 3d tones reminiscent of american 1960's and 70's amplifiers. the lead channel is related to the clean channel circuit-wise, so that it can be set up to act as a boosted clean channel or manipulated to make the channels sound like two completely different amps (the lead channel can be set from slight to very heavy distortion by simply using the volume and master controls). the bright switch on the lead channel has been carefully tailored to deliver familiar high-end snap and is particularly effective on the low strings, neck pickup settings, and with singlecoils, while the low-end response of the lead channel is full, tight, and clear. both channels on the sonzera are designed to maximize note clarity and definition. the global presence control and the tone stack allow players to dial in a variety of tones from bell-like chime to warmer, thicker tones. the sonzera 20 combo also features global reverb control that is designed to enhance notes without clouding them. the reverb can be turned on and off via the footswitch. the addition of a built-in effects loop allows players to use all their time-based effects with ease without negatively impacting the overall tone of the amp. in addition to its versatile tone, the sonzera 20 combo is also designed for reliability and serviceability. the power tube sockets are mounted directly to the steel chassis, and no push-on connections are used – all wires are soldered. with robust construction, a wide range of tones, and steadfast controllability, the sonzera 20 combo is a solid gig- and studio- worthy amplifer.

The PRS Sonzera 20 is a very good guitar amplifier. It sound exactly like a FENDER Twin Reverb in terms of providing a clear, realistic sound with plenty of powerful bass response. Unlike the TR, the PRS Sonzera 20 is much more compact and a lot easier to transport. It weighs about 42 lbs. compared to the TR's 62 lbs. This amp uses the same 6L6GC power tubes as the TR. I really like the PRS Sonzera 20 a lot…I'm actually thinking about purchasing a second one as a spare! It's that good!Greg
Great sounding amp other than the rattling tubes. I realize I could re tube and get rid of that for a bit but can't rationalize re tubing a new amp. Also the standing hum seemed much louder than any other amp I own. I tried recording with it and between the tube rattle and hum the track was ditched. I assume that's why it was an open box sale. I called customer service and they couldn't tell me Why it was returned. That's no good. There should be a way to track those issues Otherwise you just keep selling folks thsame lemon.Hambone612
I bought this on a 12 month AMS payment plan ive had it 2 days. Its a beast of a combo. I started with everything at noon but the volume. Every setting i tried sounded great. The clean is american sounding but thicker. The drive channel does not sound like a fender n if you turn up your mids you can get a super fat british tone. Its very pretty you know it kinda looks like money. This is its own amp but it can lean alot of different tonal direction. Its gott plaenty of usable gain to get that 80s/90s hard rock to grunge sound. My only struggle with this amp is its LOUD i had thought about a power soak but the internal speaker cord is too short. Currently i have a cotic compressor in the loop so i can get appartmen volumes. Its working well. I recomend it if your looking for a portable giggable combo that can get good fat tones. I still havent had it past 4 n my ears are ringing

This Amplifier is all I will ever need for my electric guitar. I love the sound! I have to be careful with my neighbors as they can hear it and I don't have it turned up that loud. I am 58 and don't like things that loud but when playing I might get a little louder than normal. It has a lot of different settings and I pretty much stick with a basic sound. I thought it was a great price for a quality amp. It fits nicely in my small room.wallyjc

I bought this amp on a wim and I'm glad I did. I wanted a light weight little tube amp to lug around to play small gigs with. I'm old and I don't like to bring out amps that are just too loud and bulky. After swapping out the tubes a couple of times to find what my ears liked, it just perfect. I'm not going to tell anything about how it sounds because that would not mean anything. We all search for a individual sound that is on YOUR head. I will day this. The amp is a great platform to mold into that sound we all are looking. I purchased 2 of the single 12" cabs. O opted to do this instead of the 2 x 12" because I wanted to keep the weight down for moving it around. The 18 watts is plenty loud enough to cut through and be heard. I like the amp so much that I use it for every show. I can play small to large gigs with no worries. When we play bigger events I just run into the board but still use the cabs for monitors. So I can hear my rig. The days of having to lug a full 100 watt stack are not needed anymore. So all in all this a great little amp and it will satisfy most everyone with a little adjusting. I also love that tube replacement is just plug and play. It will tell you if your tubes need replacing and it's self biasing.worldtrdex
Classic Hughes and Kettner tones in a little monster of an amp! Plugged it into a 12 x 2 cabinet and DAMN! this thing is beautiful to listen to. Clean or over driven, this amp is a pleasure to play guitar on. However when overdriven the nuanced variances between different guitars are not well appreciated. The overdrive is more muddy and less nuanced in my opinion. Comparing different strat styles here with different pick-up combinations. Tele sounds different. Chambered SG style sounded the same as other strat style guitars with humbuckers. Parker and Ibanez S series with infiniti 2 pickups sounded distinctly different. Have not played neodymium pickups on it yet but I'm hoping that will clear up some of the mud.arcticwynd

I'm a Fender fan to the core. I love their electric guitars and amps but their Amps aren't even affordable anymore. They've completely out priced themselves and either you are going to pay for a severely overpriced bare bones amp or a severely overpriced amp with far more electronics than a lot of us care to deal with. This is a great sized combo amp that's easy to use and has a great sound and plenty of power and all at a great price!!! There is no reason Fender couldn't do more of this…combo's that aren't easy to use with plenty of effects and a fair price for blue collar musicians. I used a Fender Princeton Chorus combo this same size mic'd through a sound system for over two decades and it started having issues. This was the closest amp I could get (and afford). The 100 has everything you need in a combo amp and at a fraction of the price of everything else Fender makes. Buy it! You won't be disappointed!Josh
I bought this amp because my gig amp died a cyber twin 2-12s 100 watts that was about 16 years old. I have had many Fender amps they were great. I do country and 50s and 60s rock and roll. I figured 100 watts would put it out there and it does. At performing volume, the distortion is a pure heavy metal on the clean channel. Mine is not much good for high volume for my type of music. I have an old champion 110 75 watt that I will be using It has worked for me when the others were down. Not sure what to do.stev_majo
Sound: With the second channel .First it had the twin reverb and super sonic voicing with a chain loop for pedals I was set on that alone. When it got to the house and realized I didn't need my pedal chain and it sounds amazing even though ill still use my pedals here and there. The bassman, tweeds , Princeton all clean or dirty are amazing to play . again to get those sounds with out the tubes and speakers is amazing.. You get volumes that punch against you that are clear without any nasty whitenoise or unwanted sounds. the dirty settings added with the compression build in make all that possible. Outta all my guitars I enjoy to plug into this amp .My 63 firebird , g400 s.g. and my jaguar Ease of Use: Its real easy for me to get the sounds I need .I'm well aware of all the amps they used for the voicing. For new players it might take a little to understand but with no time you'll understand how to dial it in and add the right effects to the amp models to get those amazing fender amps . Quality: Only had it for a week but as for holding it up and down 3 flights of stairs at the studio in Philadelphia id say the strap is well build . Speakers have not blown but I have not had to dial all the way up amps loud as it is half way . Value: yes it is im surprised its not another $100 more.Wish more companies would do this. Manufacturer Support: No problems yet . But in the past fender has always been amazing to me. Overall: (DON'T LET THE $399 TRICK YOU)When dialed up there are so many different fender amps you have here. First off the blackface style clean channel is just amazing. id say that its a twin or deluxe especially when you dial in the spring reverb only thing missing to call it that are the speakers/tubes but fender has made it very clear they can accumulate that sound with out the tubes . I know the tubes will make a difference but not much to this amp unless you have the trained ear for tubes you can't tell. The 2nd channel with all the voice modeling Id say every setting is 99.7 spot on with the models . I love this amp .After watching a few videos online of the 100 I decided to go with it .My friend has the champion 50 so I have already played through this style of amp. When I saw the 2×12 combo version with a double channel pedal it was set in stone . I love combos more than any kind of amp . I came on zZounds looking for an amp to hit the road to the higher states of the new England area of the states in November and December and a long ride from New Jersey to Chicago and Milwaukee in January . the amazing price for a well build and sounding amp there was no way i wasn't gonna leave the website with out another toy.So after adding to the card I headed over to guitars and ordered the squier 70s classic vibe jaguar .One of my favorite things about this amp is I don't have to change out the speakers to get that sound I want. its easy for me to use because I know how to dial in the right sounds to get the sound of the amps in amp unit.Mike

Every guitar player on God's green earth should have one. The different tones offered with the app inspire you to play differently. It allows you to play along with the songs you love, and download the tone. It also tells you the chord progression to the song. It's an amazing Amp, and if nothing else the GREATEST speaker in the world. I could absolutely ruin my neighborhoods night with the most absurdly clear version of my favorite songs. But I could Also practice at midnight with out waking up my roommates using my headphones.

As a practice amp, you will soon lose interest if the tone is thin, boxy and generally sounds like crap. The Spark is none of this. An incredibly wide range of tones are available via the app with sounds that you just don't expect to come from such a small package. The sound is loud, rich without the boxiness that you seem to get with amps loaded with small speakers. If you've used PG's Bias software, you'll be in very familiar territory – great emulations that have a depth that rivals some of the serious modelers available now. The effects, while not giving you a massive selection, supplies pretty well every type of effect you would ever need. The reverbs and delays are particularly good and while more than good enough for noodling at home, are more than up to the task of recording. The unit is quite sturdy with a timber cabinet and looks great – very traditional with an "English" type of styling. Using the Spark as a Bluetooth player for music is more than up to the task – good bass, clean mids and treble and loads of volume. The app overall is very good with some truly inspiring practice opportunities, though the function where the app analyses your playing and constructs a suitable backing track is hit and miss and is probably the weakest part of the app. Bluetooth connection for both control functions and audio playback is stable and very quick to pair with your device. Overall, I don't think you will find and amp sounding this good with the flexibility and functions available, from anywhere else and that is before taking into consideration, the extra functions the app gives you.Mick G.
I bought this amp on the back of all the rave reviews on YouTube etc. For me, it's just not a finished product yet. It feels very "beta". The hardware seems robust and of good quality. The modelled sounds are very good, albeit very bass heavy. But most of that can be EQ'd out. There are several problems I couldn't live with, and had to sell it on. The hum problem which is due to the supplied, un-earthed PSU was very apparent in my example. I contacted Positive Grid support about the issue in December 20, and as of selling the amp at the start of March 21, I had not yet received the replacement PSU. There are temporary workarounds, but I wanted the problem sorted permanently. As said above, the sound is very bass heavy. The amp models' EQ can be used to deal with the guitar tone, but music playback through the unit via Bluetooth has no EQ control, so the sound quality is very poor. In addition to this, the playback level is far too high. When using as a Bluetooth speaker it is very difficult to get the volume low enough using the tiny trim pot volume control for comfortable listening when sat in close proximity to the unit. The Auto Chords feature is a gimmick and needs serious work. It only works for E standard guitar tuning. For example, when listening to a song in dropped standard tuning such as "Yesterday" (guitar tuned down one whole step) Auto Chords will show fingerings for F, Em, A7 etc instead of the G,. F#m, B7 shapes that are required. At the very least, a "transpose" button is required to allow for dropped standard tunings that are very common. When using the tuner, you have to look at the lights on top of the amp. The app should have a screen that displays the tuner on your connected device when in use. The app metronome tempo can only be set by tap. It should have the ability for the user to enter the exact required BPM by inputting the figure required, or selecting the tempo with up and down or + and – controls. All of these niggles were too much for me to live with. Hopefully Positive Grid implement the changes in future releases, but I won't be buying Spark again until they do.Paul

Reviews:
This amp is great for beginner to intermediate players like myself who want an amp that can do anything and, judging by how much my friends like it, great for more advanced players as well. The FUSE modeling software lets you quickly and easily creates any sound you want or spend an afternoon playing and experimenting with all the effects. Despite the low price this amp is well-built and very high quality. The on-board controls are a little lacking but this is only a small inconvenience. All in all, this is a great amp. I bought the Fender Mustang I about 4 months ago, after playing guitar for six months. I was looking for an affordable amp that could work for all the different genres I play. (As a beginner I mostly play whatever I can, but Im starting to focus more on hard rock and punk, such as AC/DC, the Clash, and Green Day.) After looking online, this amp seemed to perfectly fit what I wanted. The main selling point was definitely the Fender Fuse software. The first thing that really struck me after I got this amp was the depth and variety offered by the factory presets. The clean settings, mostly modeled after popular Fender amps, such as the 1965 Twin Reverb, bring out all the tone my guitar has to offer and respond to every articulation in my playing. (My guitar, a cheap Stratocaster knock-off, cost me less than this amp, so Im very impressed this amp found enough tone to create such beautiful sounds.) Then, with just the turn of a knob, the amp can switch over to presets such as British 80s, which sounds exactly like the 100-Watt Marshalls AC/DC uses. (Think Highway to Hell or Back in Black.) On the even higher gain settings, such as Metal 2000, my friends who are better guitarists than I get a nice sound for shredding. (All my friends love playing with my amp even though most of them have more expensive amps themselves.) There are even some really weird models, such as Black Hole Vibe which uses a Vibratone effect to create a shimmering, sparkling sound. When I cant find the right sound in any of the 24 presets, the Fender FUSE software always has the solution. Usually, I can find the preset Im looking for in Fenders online database, which seems to have a preset for just about every genre and artist and even for most popular songs. But, when I cant find one online, it never takes long to create a new preset. I know very little about guitar effects, but the layout of FUSE is so simple, quick, and straightforward that it takes no time to wade through the twelve amp models, the dozen or so cabinet models, the adjustable BIAS and SAG (I usually dont bother changing these), the different noise gate levels, and over half dozen models each of delay, reverb, stomp box, and modulation, all of which can be added in any order before or after the pre amp stage and customized using various controls and adjustments. Simply put, FUSE can make any amp/effect sound I can think of. The only issue I have with the Modeling software is that it is nearly impossible to adjust the presets from the amp. All the effects are in two unlabeled banks and accessed by a series of knobs and buttons, with no sort of screen or display to guide you through the process. Even adjusting the gain and equalization is tricky because the physical locations of the knobs dont change when you load a new preset with different settings. (If the gain knob is set to 2 but the preset is saved with a gain setting of 8, when you turn the gain knob up to 4 youre actually turning the gain down.) I think this problem is solved on the G-DEC series and possibly the larger Mustangs, but for the Mustang I this is a problem when Im not near my computer. If not for this difficulty, I would have given this amp 5 stars for features. Ive had this amp for four months now and play through it an hour or two every day and everything still sounds great. I did a car trip with it and accidently dropped some heavy bags it but nothing broke. If it were loud enough (or maybe even just micd), Im sure it would stand up to gigging. As far as sound quality goes, all the models sound almost exactly like the amps theyre pretending to be (unless you had them side by side you wouldnt notice the difference) and no one I know can even tell its digital. The one problem I had was when I first got it the bass response sounded very muddy and unclear but this went away after a few days. I still dont know what caused this, possibly just breaking in a new speaker. Really wish I could give this a 6 out of 5 for value. On all the models, this sounds like a thousand dollar amp and the volume it produces is incredible. It is by far the loudest 20-Watt amp I have ever heard. I mostly practice in my bedroom but I also jam with friends a lot. In my bedroom I rarely have the master volume above 2 and with 2 or 3 other guitars in the room the volume still doesnt get above 5. This amp can even keep up with a quiet drummer or a pianist. I was thinking about the 40-Watt version, but the 20-Watt is a
It is a MUST Buy all the way from Beginners to the Professional. I guarantee you Will not regret buying this little AMP. It sounds Great with my LTD-M300. I being playing guitar for almost 11 years so I'm not exactly a beginner. The futures of this AMP are amazing, 24 pre-set FX PLUS the ability to Morph the 24 pre-sets giving you the possibility of over 50 FX. It has a built in USB module which allows you to plug the amp and Record straight to the Computer using the included software called Ableton Live 8 and Fender Fuse. Tottally Amazing. Fear not there is also a Mustang 2 and 3 which include more watts for more power and louder sound. The over all sound quality is Great 9/10. The Built in USB, Amazing 10/10. The Built in Sound Effects 9/10. The included software 10/10.All for the Low price you can't beat it.This AMP is far superior than the Fender Frontman R25 not because all the extra futures that the R25 doesn't have but simply on the Sound Quality alone. Best Value… I can't stress it enough, Great Quality, Great Sound, Great Software. This AMP feels like it is worth 200+$'sLincoln Cassis
I like my little Mustang very much. So much, in fact, I find myself playing more. The booklet that comes with the amp is very simple to understand and easy to use. To really appreciate the amp, you have to plug it into a computer! There is a whole new world out there with countless amp and stompbox combinations, as well as getting one started to the realm of recording!I have been playing for 20 plus years, mostly classic and hard rock. I have a 1983 Kramer Pacer and a 1977 Gibson SG that I have been playing through a Marshall JCM 800 50 watt combo amp using a digitech 355RP for effects. I have limited space, and wanted to get a small amp for playing in the house. The amp is small and light, yet feels fairly rugged. I had no problems connecting to the amp with the USB port, and after downloading the Fender Fuse software, I was on my way! I am still learning how to use the program, but some of the presets were very good. I was able to tweek them even better, and I love the sounds I get! I like connecting to my laptop and getting almost endless sound possibilities. I am also exploring recording, which I have never done before. You can't beat the value for the price on this amp! My Digitech cost 3 times as much, and the effects and amp modeling, in my opinion, sound better!

18. Magnatone 432 2020
Product Details:
High-gain american amp with a british accent. the super fifty-nine m-80 tube guitar amplifier head incorporates the gain stages and tone stacks of magnatone’s super fifty-nine mki and mkii models. celebrating magnatone’s 80th anniversary, this super-versatile 45-watt, el34-driven brute gives you the low- and medium-gain tonal range of the mkii and lets you access, via a front-panel switch or external footswitch (sold separately), the additional gain stage found in the mki when you need that extra push over the cliff. the super fifty-nine m80’s tube complement consists of four 12ax7s in the preamp section and two el34 output tubes, delivering 45 watts in a push-pull class ab configuration. the m-80 is also equipped with a 12dw7 tube-buffered effects loop. – exclusive gold edition with premium appointments. this special edition of the super fifty-nine m-80 amplifier is dressed to impress. its blonde cabinet covering is complemented by golden-sparkle grille cloth and gold piping, as well as 14k gold-plated chevrons. solid brass vents and an amber jewel indicator lens complete the gilded look. complete with a limited edition gold certification badge on the rear, and a certificate of authenticity, the magnatone super fifty-nine m-80 will be the highlight of your amplifier collection. – matching speaker cabinet sold separately – matching speaker cabinet sold separately – the best of both worlds. as the m-80 offers the best of magnatone’s super fifty-nine mki and mkii amps, it’s instructive to take a look at the tonal profile of each model. these are both el34 amps, and they both deliver that classic british high-gain sound. but there are differences. in contrast with its mki stablemate, the mkii sports slightly lower gain and more preamp headroom — perfect for chunky rhythm parts. when you need extra punch behind your solos, the mki high-gain circuit offers higher gain and more compression, effectively turning the single-channel m-80 into a footswitchable 2-channel amp. – rock the big stages with classic el34 tone. the sound of the super fifty-nine m-80 quite simply takes your breath away. it nails the classic, big-bottle el34 sound in all its harmonic complexity. and it’s got the grunt to rock the big stages. this versatile beast delivers truly impressive tonal dexterity, taking you from shimmery cleans to vintage grit to brit-voiced high gain, deploying everything from classic rock overdrive to modern tonal armageddon that’ll strip the paint off club walls. very tasty, indeed. plug in and hear what the fuss is all about. whether you’re deploying crispy cleans, arena-shaking crunch, or searing shred, the super fifty-nine m-80 delivers the tone you want — at the volume you need. – matching speaker cabinet sold separately – perfect for live gigs and studio sessions. with two el34s in the engine room, the magnatone super fifty-nine m-80 delivers 45 watts. now, these are tube watts, which means you’ve got more than enough juice for any gig — even if you play heavy music with a powerful drummer. you’re also not burdened with a 100-watt behemoth in the studio. even in a high-gain, master-volume-equipped amp like this, the ability to gain stage freely and push the output tubes to taste is vital in nailing the guitar tone you’re after. you’ll find it easy to match speaker cabinets with the m-80, thanks to its rear-panel 4/8/16 ohm switch. – magnatone: a slice of rock history. magnatone first began producing electric guitars and amplifiers in the late 1930s. by the ’50s and ’60s, magnatone amps had become highly sought after, largely because of their distinctive pitch-shifting vibrato effect, which was responsible for the “watery” guitar sounds you hear on buddy holly and early bo diddley recordings. legendary blues-rock guitarist lonnie mack employed magnatone amplifiers to achieve his signature vibrato-soaked sound. today, neil young is also an admirer and uses a vintage magnatone in his live rig. in 2013, the company entered into a new phase of its evolution, creating a new and improved line of boutique guitar amplifiers that have been embraced by guitar luminaries such as jeff beck and billy gibbons, as well as quite a few of the guitarists at sweetwater. combines the tone and gain stages of the mki and mkii into one flexible, footswitchable amp. limited edition gold finish with blonde amp covering, gold sparkle grille cloth, 14k gold-plated chevrons, gold piping, solid brass vents, amber jewel indicator lens, and limited edition gold badge. 45-watt, – magnatone super fifty-nine m-80 – 45-

20. Vox Ac4tvmini 4w Tube Guitar Combo Amp
Product Details:
Very nice little amp with a good sound despite the size. not a ton of tonal variety; but what it does, it does well. switchable output levels from 4 watts to 1/10 of a watt. the tone control doesn't seem to make a ton of difference in the sound, what it does is very subtle. i don't know if that was how they are made or not. i bought the amp new several years ago. i had it open to change the tubes a couple years back and couldn't see anything not attached or anything like that. amp is in very good cosmetic condition with just a little bit of wear in the tolex on the upper rear corners.
