I'd been looking into different strap locking systems for my multiple guitars, but there's always a few problems in the back of my mind. This strap takes care of all of them. For one, button straps can be stressful to install when they come with bigger screws that could wreck the body if you're not careful. With multiple guitars, you need one system for each guitar you have, which can add up. Not to mention the strap that you can only use on strap lock systems. This sweet little strap needs no installation, and after you buy one you need nothing else. The only way you'll drop your guitar with this strap is if your pins fall out. Fairly simple to use, I would recommend this strap to everyone. My one complain, however, is style choices. I love the black satin, but I would never use any other style available. Am I the only one that things flames are incredibly cliche? Good designs for a 12-year-old, but not much else in my opinion.Erik

I have several of these on all sorts of guitars, this one's for a Steinberger. They're easy to use, reliable and long enough to sit the guitar nice and low even if you're reasonably tall. Nice quality, this one was a satin feel to it.frishionark

First, the good–this strap is well-padded and comfortable. Now, the bad–the surface of this strap is very slippery. If you bass is heavy but perfectly well-balanced, this strap will work well. However, if your bass has ANY neck-dive, this strap will slide over your shoulder and the neck of your bass will end up at your waist. A good strap carries the weight well and resists slippage, but this strap only covers half of that job.Dave

Before you commit to this strap, make sure that it will be compatible with your guitar. It should work with guitars that have a strap button on a horn like a Strat, or on the side of the body where the strap button is facing to the side pointing towards your headstock like a Les Paul or Telecaster. It will not work well with guitars that have a strap button on the neck heel or back where the button is facing backwards towards you. That includes guitars like SGs, ES-335s, Explorers, etc. The strap ends are too chunky and you can't flip them over and slide them over the button from the reverse side. You will have a twist in your strap if you try to use this with guitars that have the latter strap button orientation and that can be very uncomfortable. Another design issue is that the ends slide on and off some buttons very tightly and require enough effort that you start to worry you will be ripping your strap button out of the wood or at a minimum, loosening the button or rubbing the finish off your guitar. Maybe they will ease up a little over time with use. On the plus side, the padding with the strap is very comfortable. I have the 3" wide version and it distributes the weight fairly well. It may be a bit on the long side for some guitars with the button on the top horn, depending on how tall you are and how far down you prefer the guitar to hang while playing. If the stores weren't all closed down now and I could return the strap to a store without paying return shipping, I would have done that already. I would not buy it again. The concept is good but poorly executed. I have another much cheaper strap with simpler flat plastic locking ends that has worked for years with no issues and is compatible with all guitars and button types. The only problem is that it is a thin 2" cloth strap and doesn't have the nice padding that this one does so I thought this would be an upgrade.PDX Music

This strap is well made and designed. The locking mechanism works well with out having to modify anything on the bass or put any additional hardware on the strap itself. It is secure and it is comfortable even with a heavier bass. The biggest thing to mention is that it is not very long. If you like to hang your instrument low this is not the strap for you. I wear mine a little higher so it's not a problem for me, but a bandmate noticed it and it would be a problem for him as he is bigger and wears his guitars/basses lower. I was expecting a higher quality of leather to be honest. It does its job though. I bought this because I own the fabric version of this locking strap and it like to slide around. This on the other hand is extremely comfortable. Although the leather isn't the best it is really soft to the touch, and feels like it isn't going to start wearing out or start fraying at the edges anytime soon. So if you feel like paying for a slightly overpriced version of the Planet Waves locking strap that is more comfortable and useful for live performance, then I suggest picking this up!Mikael P

This strap is great. It is comfortable. It is not that wide but I find it is wide enough. I like the leather. I have not tried the nylon ones. The best feature is they have strap locks built right in. So they work on virtually any guitar. You don't have to change your strap buttons to use it. It is long too so can be easily used on a bass. I think for the price of $18-28 it is the best strap you can buy. i have seen straps for far more that were not as nice. I would like to see more colors. Obviously it has them but I have only seen in black.mikekantola

First things first: absolutely fantastic set of locks! I got a set of these from my wife (then fiancee) 3 years back to put on my Ibanez 5-string bass, because stock strap buttons won't hold a strap for anything unless you play standing dead still. Installation was pretty much effortless, though I had a little trouble getting the lock itself through holes in brand-new, somewhat-thick leather. Being somewhat-thick, the leather also didn't leave much thread surface for the nut to hang onto, especially with the washer in place. Eventually the nut & washer fell off of the top lock (the lock that attaches to the top horn on the instrument) as I was taking the strap off the bass & I wasn't able to find them. Luckily they weren't critical to the function of the straplock, and I've been rocking it without the nut & washer ever since, with no issues. Honestly, the only thing the nuts & washers do with this particular set of locks is ensure they stay on the strap while it's unattached from the instrument. While it's attached to said instrument however, you'd have to take a hammer to the lock to break it off! To wrap things up, I've used Schaller & Fender Style strap locks, & they didn't keep the strap on near as effective as these do. Won't buy anything else to do the job.EarthquakeGenerator251

So when I’m about to throw down serious heavy breakdowns I need the best. That ol’ 6 string gets swingin’ round pretty hard sometimes. I need to know that my strap locks are up to the task of wrangling a wild axe spinning 1000 rpm around my neck. Once, with my schallers, I sent my ‘59 burst through the wall of a small club in northern Wyoming. Not only did the owner charge me for the 17 beers I had before the show, he charged me for fixing the wall, and 18 more dollars for wrecking his best favorite nascar poster. I had to sell the Gibson to pay for it all. Fast forward to 2020 and I find my self picking up a pristine first act from the yard sale José and Tammy-Jo put on every 4th of July.I spent 30 bucks on that beauty and I can’t possibly recover financially from another disaster like the Lester incident, so I gotta play it safe. I returned beer cans, got 20 bucks, and tried a set of these bad boys based solely on how I felt emotionally on that particular day. So far, I’ve only dropped the new guitar twice, but that had more to do with the 151 my cousin gave me last weekend. I’ve been rocking hard and these things just won’t let me down. I have used these type of strap locks for many years. And they do what they say on the packet. Very easy to assemble and can save your guitar or bass from what couple be a disaster on / off stage. The colour all depends on your hardware. But the product is god tier!Lynden G.

Overall, this is a good strap. It's comfortable, fully adjustable and the locking mechanism is a great idea. The locking part of the strap however is plastic and can cause an issue with the guitar finish from rubbing up against it. I have three of these straps and found them easy to use but over time the locking mechanism gets more difficult to unlock. These straps work great but I would not advise using them on a high priced instrument unless you apply tape, felt or some kind of soft fabric between the strap and the guitar.Mr Mustang

I needed two straps—one for my Epi Masterbuilt acoustic-electric and my Epi Les Paul electric. I sent a specific question to the Guitar Center staff asking if the locking mechanism would fit on the short/wide rear pin on the acoustic-electric. I got a 'Yes it will' reply from Guitar Center. The correct answer is 'No it won't.' The strap fits the electric but now I am going to have to package and return the second strap to Guitar Center and start my search for a strap that fits the Masterbuilt. I no longer play gigs but play at home for my own pleasure. Not sure yet on the durability of the product—the Epi Les Paul is a very heavy guitar so I'll find out soon enough. My '5 star' is for the product—I'd give a '0' star for the service staff who gave me incorrect advice.Canyonram

These strap locks were easy to install both on the guitar and on the strap. The screws provided are standard size so no drilling is required. The lock mechanism fits perfectly on the strap and is simple to operate. If you want a low profile strap lock system then this is the one for you. I purchased the gold finish to match my guitars hardware.JazzandBluesMan

These appear to be good locks. I haven't had them for a very long time, but no problems yet. Their appearance is nice, probably better than some other strap locks. They feel solid, also. Are they as secure as other locks? That remains to be seen, but so far no problems. I'm not one to toss my guitar over my shoulder, so I can't comment on that usage. I like this strap lock system, no guitar modification required! It grips your strap bolts more securely than not using a locking system, though may not be as secure as the more elaborate locking systems that require guitar strap bolt changes. Keep in mind that it works best with guitar strap bolts that face left and right when you wear your guitar. This Ernie Ball locking strap has a thick angle that only lays flat on one side when attached. It is fine for a Strat, but my Gibson 335 dot has a strap bolt that faces towards me when wearing, so that causes an awkward extra twist on the guitar strap, to attach to that 335 neck bolt. I don't see an obvious way to just disassemble one strap end to flip it 180 degrees. That would help make it more versatile for all guitars, not just best for left/right facing guitar strap bolts.Scared Rabbit

I love this strap. It is really sturdy and secure. I have watched videos where people test it by jolting their guitar and spinning it. That is good enough for me, since I do not jump around or get crazy with my instrument. But I love that it attaches and releases very easily, and without having to do any modifications to your guitar. It works best with my Music Man, or Strat style guitars. It does not connect to my Casino Coupe because of the placement of the strap button. And a warning, it does connect securely to my Les Paul, but since the strap button is on a curve, the strap end rubbed in a ring on the finish around the top strap button. Not a big deal to me since it's not really scratched, and it's covered at all times by a strap anyway. But just a warning to those who want to keep their guitars in pristine condition. I owns two of these straps so far, and will be equipping more of my guitars with them.xrose

Absolutely loving it. The clips are made of hard plastic which feels rubbery does not chaff of the guitar. Feels secure even when jumping around. I recommend it! Great price for a great product!spiral_6

Great locking strap,.I have the plain back planet waves strap and this one is much better quality webbing and still gentle fabric. The only disadvantage with this and the plain one is the little bit of constriction right where the strap connects to the guitar,very stiff plastic ends which also lock very nicely btw. Overall great strap and would recommend anyone who wants to keep their guitar where it should be.natek8402

I got the darker one (skull and bones) for my double neck black BC Rich guitar. Since the instrument has some nice devilish looks, I figured it would pair it nicely. It sure does! I am not a tall dude, so I was able to adjust it to the right measurement for me and it is holding with no problem. That's great because the guitar is heavy as holly gorillas, and both strap buttons are in the back of the instrument. The locking mechanism fits perfectly and the slightly padded backing on each locking mechanism protects the guitar paint finish. I like also the fact that it holds it with no problem when moving around. I did get a shoulder strap, not because the strap is uncomfortable, just that the guitar I used it for is heavy and after a while any strap will feel unpleasant. I have purchased many locking straps from this brand before, I will continue to do so as there are many cool designs to match my instruments. Who knows maybe my next guitar will get the other model. The strap looks a lot nicer in person than in the picture, it is a great purchase! Great price too!BeeZee

It was wider than expected, but it's really comfortable. I have expensive leather straps, but they wouldn't keep a hold of my Les Paul. My cheap nylon straps held great, but I'm not taking chances. Once I figured out the operation, it goes on fast, and keeps it locked in place. Nice purchase.WannaB

This strap holds your guitar securely without having to put on locks. The first few times it is used it is a little tight and hard to get over the strap pins, but it loosens up and is much easier to put on. It is wide enough that it feel good and doesn't cut in to your shoulder. I would like for it to be about a 1/2 inch narrower, but not a big deal. I never have to worry about my guitar coming loose.Marshall

I like to use locking straps on all my guitars. My Takamine G Series jumbo wouldn't take a locking strap because the end button is the audio jack. This strap locks around the end button just fine. It is very secure. I am very happy with the strap. The only problem is that it is a little more difficult to put on the guitar but it's worth the security in the long run.Ky Preacher

If you are looking at this product, you probably know what it ie. If not, this is a nylon guitar straplock system made out of seat belt like material. It is very comfortable and light. It can be worn for long periods of time with no discomfort unless you are slinging a double neck guitar.heavyles
