I spend more time negotiating the mechanics of this pedal than I do simply playing guitar. In the heel down position, the pedal turns off. This means that if you're paying more attention to your playing than the rocking motion of your foot, you'll get a very noticable bypass bump in your sound (the best way I can describe that sound). While there is a hidden control to alter the speed of the bypass, it's not enough to remove the function while playing. Also, the boost doesn't really work for me but that may have to do the name of the effect rather than what it actually does. Boost makes me think of an effect that makes you guitar shine while giving it some volume. Behringers boost just does volume. The sweep on the actual effect ( the reason I bought a wa wah in 1st place) was not all that wide. That said, while I plan to buy a cry baby at some point, this unit will by used on my current recordings as it's better than no wa wah at all.JACOB
I love the plethora of features that this pedal has. The indicator light is a lifesaver, but also kinda irrelevant sometimes since it's impossible to actually leave the wah on when you aren't stepping on it (because of the springs). It admittedly doesn't have as much wah as my Crybaby, but the bypass is much much cleaner, and I'll never accidentally leave the Hellbabe on and look like a fool onstage. The tone editing options work pretty nicely as well. The timing setting is on the bottom and requires a screwdriver to edit, but it's really not that complicated. Overall, this pedal is so reliable, and I love it.
Need a new Wah-Pedal to replace my old Crybaby that has been crapping out for years. I've always liked Behringer products for years since they provide workman like quality for a very decent price. This pedal is interesting in terms of the extras like the EQ scoop and the boost button. Although I'm still figuring out how to best use those features. Time will tell there. If I have any complaint is when using the pedal, you really have to finess getting the wah to work at it's utmost. It seems to only really kick in when the pedal moves in a very small range. Bought it as part of an entire Mooer pedal board. The idea was to have a super portable rehearsal pedalboard, and perhaps house gear gigs where space and time are limiting factors. Many wahs have a slight signal boost to compensate for the frequency band being narrowed and to 'cut through the mix'. To use a fine old term 'bang for the buck' this is definitely it. If one understands how these work this one delivers the goods. I am easily able to get the full envelope range using a stock Strat. This pedal is cool but kind of strange. The overall effect is very mild through clean instruments but is very noticable with distortion. It boosts your signal a bit which will cut your volume if you switch it off in the middle of a song. The white knob does reshape your mid range tone which can either add an extra layer to shape your eq or diminish your eq altogether. This knob always reshapes your tone in this manner regardless of what the other knobs are at. One major benefit to this is that it seems to polish your tone a bit. The difference was extremely obvious when I tested this through my full bore pedal. This is worth having but it's more of a secondary effect pedal. If you need something to go with your distortion/reverb pedal combo and don't want something generic, this is a good choice.gei_57

I bought this to replace my Dunlop Jimi Hendrix wah that got stolen. I can't say enough good things about this pedal. Before I start, I'd like to reiterate what someone else wrote about buying local. My wah works flawlessly, so don't be discouraged by some bad reviews. I had a vintage Vox wah on my pedalboard that I was seeking to replace simply because I was weary of constantly changing the battery or having to remember to disconnect the input cable because it had no provision for an AC power supply. None of the contemporary wah pedals I tried seemed to capture the even sweep of my old wah. I was particularly disappointed with the newer Vox V487 (made in China, not the US-made from the early '90s). Then I tried the Fulltone Clyde Standard. Let me start by saying I NEVER bother to write reviews on anything. I'm a pro guitarist (as in Berklee College of Music), not a garage band hack. I've used a TON of WHA pedals over the course of my life, Crybaby's, Vox, no-name brands, don't even get me started on the junk that Morley makes. This WHA pedal is hands down the best you can get. The tone is so smooth and transparent. It's also a True Bypass pedal. I'm not a huge believer in having to have all of your pedals be True Bypass. However, for pedals that produce noise and alter tone like WHA pedals do, it's a must. I compared this pedal side by side using the exact same setup and cords as a Dunlop Crybaby 535. Aside from the fact that the Clyde blows the Crybaby away in terms of the WHA tone, it also smoked it in terms of noise. The Crybaby produces noise and alters your tone, even when the pedal is off. If you don't believe me, then you've either got bad hearing, or simply have no idea what you should be listening for. If that's the case, even the best gear in the world isn't going to help you. Bottom line, this pedal produces a superb WHA sound and unlike so many others out there, doesn't alter your tone AT ALL or add noise AT ALL whether the pedal is on or off.Add it to your pedalboard and you'll never need another WHA again.MODUS

Like all the Fulltone stuff, this pedal is built like a tank with quality parts and meticulous wiring. The tone is good and the three voicing are nice, but you'll probably find yourself using only one of them most if not all the time. Likewise, the input level control isn't really all that useful or necessary; adjusting the volume knob on your guitar amounts to pretty much the same result. The sweep of this wah is huge, particularly if your use to the standard Cry Baby swing. Depending on your taste and playing style, this could be a good or bad thing. It has a great sweep(enough pedal movement for expression), Great frequency sweep, and the fact that it has an adjustable spring for the foot pedal. The Moan feature is a little "iffy". It can be extreme (its kind of a mild distortion with a frequency sweep on it), especially if you are currently running an amp on "kill". I rolled of the Moans gain, rolled the moan (frequency) back all the way, and now I can use it to "boost" my solos, and also drive the front end of the pedal. It is EXTREMELY easy to elicit feedback with the wah/moan combined, using the wah as a control. I would recommend for someone who doesn't have a decent wah pedal.o_0
I bought this wah not knowing what it would sound like and I was amazed when I first used it. Don't listen to anyone who says its bad, they're just steering you wrong. Its cool because you have Normal, Classic, and Bass. The moan effect is pretty cool too because when you combine Moan/Wah you get a jimi hendrix tone. I bought this pedal several months ago because it had lots of features to boast, but Ive found none of them work particularly well. First I really dont notice a difference between the 'classic' and 'normal' settings. The 'bass' setting wasnt special either. The acutal wah itself is broad, but has way too much low end so you cant sweep back and forth quickly and acutally hear your sound. Also, whenever the pedal touches the switch, it makes a crunching noise–it sounds like faulty wiring. The first one I had would not turn on, so I got it replaced. With the second one, on stage at a gig it died out and I had to do my solo without the wah. The Moan is basically just added noise to your sound; no quality in it at all. Also the Moan switch was on the side, which made it hard to turn on (you need to kick it with the side of your foot. In my opinion, a standard Dunlop wah would prove much more useful, even without any controls.bluespower958

This is a pretty awesome wah. I doubt there are many other choices for a true bypass wah at this price. Also it has quite a broad sweep that sounds very vox-like at the heel and very crybaby-like at the toe. The only thing I didn't like about the construction was that the rubber stopper at the heel is completely in the way of the hex nut that adjusts the treadle. I had to pop off the stopper and then glue it back on later. The overall sound is not quite as smooth and clear as the Budda wah, but for the cost of the Modtone wah I just don't think you can do better. Great inexpensive pedal. This pedal is a best buy at any price range. True by-pass does not effect tone when disengaged. Pedal has nice tone and decent sweep range. Sweep is not excessive, but ample, actually it is fantastic once you find the sweet spot. Pedal tension adjustment is great. It is not a cheap plastic strap slung over the pivot pin like the Original Cry Baby. Compared to the Cry Baby, the MT is way superior. I tried the Cry Baby and returned it because the tension would not hold, input jacks where noisy anytime you bumped the cables, massive EMI issues, picking up nearby radio stations and static of nearby eletronics, and high end tone hissed and popped unbearably. Basic sheilding and grounding issues. gives Made in America a bad name. There are modification to deal with the Cry Baby's issues, buy my MT Vintage Wah has none of the issue for the same price and true bypass. Same die cast housing for rugged use, same inexpensive price, no mods, none of the problems. The MT does have slight high end hiss if you leave the pedal down all the way (why would you do that), and I said slight, that can be controlled with high freq tone adjustment. Stroke the pedal properly and it will never be an issue. The MT is a great product at a fantastic price. Forget about labels,save your dough and get this pedal. The pedal I got did not have a balanced wah sound. With the pedal fully depressed gave me a big volume boost. Backing off just a little gave me a big volume drop and all the way back the volume was ridiculously low and muddy. Bypass gave me a moderate treble increase in tone. Absolutely loving this pedal. It takes a little while to get used to, especially if you're more used to a regular wah however the applications for this are great. It's easy to use and so much fun when used with other effects. You'll really have a great time with this. My only issue was with the fact that the one I bought, inside packaging had been opened and box was a little dented but for the price I couldn't complain. Overall: Here it is, the signature wah from the love him or hate him wah master himself, Kirk Hammett. For this review we'll just exclude Kirk, his playing style….or overuse of the wah itself and stick to the sound and use of this wah. After trying out the Dime wah, and a few others (still going to buy the Slash wah later) I decided on this one in particular for a few reasons. One it handles so well with a lot of gain going on, it does not get thin or cut out or sound like tin. This is great when it comes to that. Secondly, the graphics, while those aren't overall important I love the look of this pedal. Now, the downside is that is does not have that wide of a sweep, but the tone and great construction of the pedal make up for it. If you are in a Metallica cover band I say get it, I play a Gibson Les Paul, Fender Stratocaster through a Marshall Code 100 half stack (classic metal setting is near perfect) and can get those killer, sick wah sounds. I have been wanting to get this pedal for awhile and I am so glad I did. This pedal is amazing, not only the graphics and paint are second to none especially under the lights on stage, the basic design of this pedal is solid and you can customize your solos with this thing. The build of this pedal is sturdy and Dunlop did a year job with this. Kirk has these pedals spread throughout the stage when he is playing and I can see why, if your looking for a fabulous and amazing sounding wah pedal, you must get this!! Mark tremonti wah, really great wah with optional up to 20 db boost (used via the knob). step on, instant wah, step off, switches back out. the wah is optical, switchless, true bypass. extremely robust.haven't used it as much as i thought i would, never left the house. it's collecting dust mostly. the knop has been bitten on by a rabbit, that's the only reason this product isn't rated "excellent". functions perfectly. 23cm by 14 cm, built like a tank. like the sound a lot, though mine has evolved a bit so – thought there must be someone who wants to try this one out.it needs 9v dc center negative, adapter not included.

There is really nothing bad I can say about this awesome pedal.The only problem I have with it is that I had the Bad Horsie one before it. That thing finally gave out after years of stomping on it. I tried to fix it myself but only made it worse. I ended up smashing it against the walll out of frustration. So being a fan of Tremonti I got his pedal. I really love it but I got so used to the slickness of the bad horsie that its taking some time to learn how to manipulate the tremonti one into doing what I want. Other than that I love it. I've had the Morley Mark Tremonti Wah for about a year now after switching from a crybaby and I couldn't be happier. It's perfect for a pronounced lead voice which is what i use it for. It has a great range with no dead spots and an addicting tone that you simply can't get from a crybaby. I've heard about people downing the switch-less design due to a delayed shut off, but this pedal has a trim pot on the inside so you can adjust the delay of the pedal turning off or make it have no delay at all. It's a very cool feature that not many people really know about i guess. I also love the boost feature on this pedal though I'd suggest not cranking the boost knob because things get a little too hairy on the high-end. I run this with a Morley Power Volume+, a T-Rex Tremonti Phaser, and an Empress Vintage Modified Superdelay through a Mesa/Boogie Stiletto Trident and a Mesa/Boogie 4X12 cab. I would definitely recommend this wah to any hard rock/metal guitarist who is looking to break away from the bland and overplayed crybaby realm. Keep Shredding!PRSslinger
Had an older one for a while but the bypass wasn’t perfect and it let the tone just slightly flutter when the pedal wasn’t used. Bought this and it’s perfect, so so easy to use, bypass works great, got a little booster just to top it. I need this in songs I play at rehearsals and gigs as I can’t switch a crybaby on and off fast and efficiently enough so this pedal really saves the day .Alex L.

I use it for slap bass. Still the best, still American made!!! Great tone, heavy-solid build quality. Don't get the competitor's lightweight copy. There's a reason why this hasn t changed much for over 40 years. It's a must and a mainstay for any pedal board. Extremely solid/ heavy. Note though if attaching to a pedal board. Feet has to stay on. If you remove the feet, it holds the bottom metal plate. If you remove the screws that hold the feet on and use them, they become too long and now the plate is loose. Fortunately my board had gaps that I was able to sink the feet into so the Velcro can catch onto the board. also the power input on the left is right under the output signal. Not the most ideal location when using an angled patch cable and trying to make your board look nice and neat.Rene
This is probably my 5th or 6th one. Not because they broke either. The original crybaby is my favorite wah because it doesnt have all the extras on it, it fits good on smaller pedal boards, can run on a 9 volt battery or adapter, and is just reliable. This pedal is awesome! It has a bunch of different effects all wrapped into this little box, with a few knobs that make dialing in the right tone simple yet gives you plenty of options. The only downside I have to this pedal is that on some of the modes, the pedal automatically makes a "wah" sound that I'd rather be able to control more myself, and sometimes it simply applies the effect too little or too often. Maybe I just need to play around with the knobs more but regardless this is a great pedal, especially for the pricedslesinger
I bought the one for guitar, not the bass unit. I love it. I have been doing live sound for 16 years, so I'm a self trained sound engineer. I also have a love for small tube amps, 30 watts and smaller as I play guitar as a hobby. I have been collecting pedals for years. I keep the ones I like and sell the ones I'm not so crazy about. This pedal rocks! I have this pedal at one amp along with a boss/fender reverb pedal and I can get many sounds. This pedal can be tweaked to get so many different effects, it's hard to describe or name it. This unit is usually very affordable and is a lot of fun.soundssharp01
Very affordable pedal with lots of great sounding features – the wah and the octaver sound great, the other synth effects are good. This is a great way to try a bunch of different effects to see what you like or don't like. The construction is heavy duty so it should hold up to rough handling. The down side is that with so many features it would be difficult to use as a gigging pedal if this were your only way to get those sounds. There are four knobs which must all be tweaked for each of the different effects. There's no good way to to redo all the settings in the middle of a gig if you want to switch sounds. If you find one or two that you like and can leave it set that way, or you're experimenting, then you'll be happy. The other problem is that the synth settings boost the volume compared to the octaver and the wah.doodad1

it's a decently built pedal, as is a ll Morley stuff, but the tones arent there. this uses a light & reflecter instead of a pot and gear set up, so getting it tweaked in for a decent swell rate and tone range is a pain, it involves taking the bottom off the pedal and bending the light assembly as it goes in the pc board. I have got mine usable, but save your money and get a vox. Thats what i have on my other pedalboard-its a whole lotta better!cjm2211
I bought this Pedal to reproduce the wah sound over clean and overdriven effects. I like that this pedal produces a clean smooth and effect but I don't like that I have to activate it with the switch. I can hear a pop in the amp when activating. I have replaced Wah pedal with the Ibanez Weeping Demon pedal as I have more control over the sound of the wah with the knobs to dial in the perfect amount and I have the option of simply stepping on the pedal to activate the wah effect.garysgreenguitar
I don't hear the same thing as other reviewers. This pedal is great for the money. I think the sweep is quite dynamic. It is a little quiet on the low end and the high is "screechy" which basically means it gets vey high. But the action in the middle is great and I can't hear much difference between this and the crybaby. The fact that you don't have to "toe down" to activate it gives you a lot of freedom. Just got mine today and I couldn't possibly be more pleased. Yes it's an expensive pedal, and some say you could get a regular wah pedal and just leave it parked for free.. but it's not true. The Wahfull has so much soul in its tone you can't stop playing it. Every notch on the frequency knob(which is foot adjustable btw) yeilds another incredible tone. Every setting has several uses and all inspire more riffing. I used it with univibe, distortion pedals, overdrives, delays, phasers, and even with a wah pedal!! It's a very good product, the best pedal in my rig. It offers wide sound opportunities. The expression pedal converts it into a cosmic toy.
