Reviews:
Bought the Polytune 3 to replace the Polytune 2 on my board because I wanted the buffer without having to use a separate buffer pedal. First thing I noticed out of the box was that the Polytune 3's screen is only 60-70% as bright as the Polytune 2. Returned it and got a replacement; same thing. I spoke to TC Electronic and they confirmed that this is indeed a design change in the Polytune 3 because some people were complaining that the 2 was too bright (wow, I guess a lot of complaining people don't do outdoor gigs). Go figure. At all levels of the built in light sensor, the 3 is dimmer than the 2, including outside full brightness. Boo. This is a deal breaker for me as the Polytune 2's screen & brightness were perfect. The new one is too dim and hard to see from eye level, and other LED's on my board are actually brighter than the Polytune 3's display, which is distracting. So so disappointing as this could have been perfect. Such a puzzling decision on the part of TC Electronic. A much better solution would have been to make the brightness switchable between two modes if that really was an issue. I mean really: who wants a dimmer, harder to see screen? Especially outside in sunlight. They took one of the industry standard tuners and upgraded it with a switchable buffer, but downgraded it because the screen is dim. Going back to my Polytune 2 with separate buffer pedal.Tommy
Don't know how well it works yet. This is not ready to use out of the box unless you happen to already have a 9v DC power supply. Not sure if it will take a 9v battery because a specific hex wrench is necessary to open the unit. It would be helpful to have this information on a retailer's website to alert potential buyers.Steve
Does everything it says it does. I only have two complaints and two suggestion: 1) Tuning in poly mode seems to have you tune everything slightly sharp. I tuned all strings in poly first and then when switching to a single string to fine tune, ever single was string was just a hair sharp. I don't know if poly mode is accurate and single string mode is flat or vice versa, but that's a minor gripe. You can use poly mode to get close and single string mode to get every string perfect. 2) There is no way to "lock" the pedal in one mode or the other. You strum all strings for poly mode or one string for the other mode and the pedal automatically switches between modes. The problem is that you have to be sure ALL of the other strings are muted/completely silent to keep the pedal in single string mode. If you even accidentally bump another string while trying to tune a single string, the pedal will switch back to poly mode. It would be nice if there was a way to keep the pedal in one mode or the other to avoid inadvertently switching back and forth. Second suggestion, I wish there was a way to dim the display. When they say this pedal has an ultra-bright LED display, they mean it has an ULTRA-bright LED display. You could probably tune your guitar in low earth orbit with this pedal. That's fine in bright lighting or daylight, but at night or on a darkened stage, something that bright tends to affect my vision for a few minutes. Other than that, I found the pedal intuitive and easy to use. The only thing I had to refer to the manual for was to find out how to switch between alternate tunings. There is a TINY little button near the input jack and I missed it when just holding the pedal and giving it a quick once over. The pedal does not affect your tone in any noticeable way, even when you have your volume way up. The footswitch is smooth and there's no audible pop (either on the pedal or through your amp) when switching the tuner on and off.Heavyarms

Specifications:

Reviews:
This is an amazing tuner that does what it's supposed to with no issues. I would recommend this over a standard guitar/bass tuner since it can detect pitches that fall outside the range of standard tuning since it is chromatic, and that means it suits alternate tunings. The flip out stand on the back is also a great feature. I have the tuner propped up on top of my amp and it looks as great as it functions. Having an input/output makes it even more versatile since you can leave it plugged in to the amp all the time and not worry since it has bypass which means sound passes through even when the tuner is off. And if you have an acoustic guitar? No problem, this tuner also has a built-in microphone. The only downside is that is has no illuminated screen. Unfortunately is seems Korg does not offer an illuminated version of this model, but you really can't complain as this is one of the best tuners you can get at this price point. Features: Chromatic, good for alternate tunings. True bypass Simple operation Microphone Buit-in stand Small, unobtrusive. Cons: No metronome No illuminated screen. Sometimes has trouble detecting really low notes, otherwise pretty accurate.alan
This is a good tuner for 6 string guitars, 7 string guitars, and basses, provided that they are in standard tuning. However, if you use alternate tuning, it may confuse one for the other. When I tuned my 6 string electric down to C#, the tuner kept trying to find the 7 string low 'b', making it useless. Although it has a 'flat' control, a simple manual select switch would solve everything.Jeff

I really like the Snark tuner. You can turn the head where ever you need it to see the screen clearly. The tuning graph is easy to see, read and easy to get the pitch needle to the perfect pitch stop position. Very good value. Easy use, easy read. I am very satisfied.Gwindmorriso-0
I was looking for a good tuner that would be small and not too expensive. I read many reviews and came to the conclusion that this is a very good product that offers precision and comfort with a small size. It doesn't need volume for tuning, only vibration and it is very convenient to place it on the neck of your instrument. For the price i think it does the job and it is definitely not lagging behind other more pricey tuners. The tuner is more suitable for guitarist for it has some tuning options when using capo. Overall i think this is a good product for the price. The only drawback is that it consumes a lot of battery life because of the display, so if you are using a tuner frequently, take into account that you will need many replacement batteries (but the batteries are very cheap on E-bay so not a big problem)Michael
This little gadget is a definite must have for amateur and professional guitarist alike. A cousin of mine showed me his and I knew that I just had to have one. Very simple to use: Just clip it on to your guitar and tune. I especially like that it enables you to tune quickly and also that the display is large and bright, so it is easy to see. It also seems to be very accurate. Another feature of this model is enabling you to tune sharp or flat in half step increments. So, for example, if you wanted to tune to a keyboard that was tuned 1/2 step or a step sharp or flat, you could tune to the keyboard. This feature also enables you to tune with a capo on for more accurate tuning. If I lost it, I would purchase another one…….QUICKLY! Also purchased one for a friend. She is loving hers, as well.Myrna M.

Reviews:
The Cool Waves D'Addario Eclipse Tuner is the best tuner I ever seen. The color display is very bright, easy to read and allows for easy calibration. The display itself is surrounded by a red rubber edging, similar to a rubber cell phone cover. It is attached to a heavy duty plastic clip by a "hinge". Where the display attaches to the "hinge", it can rotate 360 degrees. Where the hinge is attached to the clip, it can also turn rotate 360 degrees. The hinge itself can be opened almost 180 degrees. So you can basically move the display into any angle you wish. The attachment clip is very sturdy, easy to grip, and has a rubber cushion its ends to keep it from scratching your instrument. The only negative I have is, that although it has basic instructions, it does not come with detailed instructions, or a link where someone could find detailed instructions, for beginners or those not familiar with the usage of electronic tuners. Overall, The Cool Waves D'Addario Eclipse Tuner is the best tuner I have owned. Bright display, very sturdy, easy to use, with limitless viewing angles. If you have a stringed instrument, I highly recommend this tuner!SheShopsSales
We love this D'Addario Eclipse tuner! It's easy and gentle to clip on. Very easy to use, and easy to read as well even in low-light areas. It came with a battery too! It uses a CR2032 button-style battery when the time comes to replace it. It has a nice colored and easy to read display, and is very no-frills. It is chromatic and calibrates from 435 to 450Hz, works with both our electric and acoustic guitar. It's actually very accurate, and works quickly too. It makes it easy to know when the guitar is in tune. It shows lights that guide you to the correct tuning and shows the note for the string you're tuning. It seems to be made well and it's a good brand name as well. It's reasonably priced and works just as well as the more expensive brands we've had in the past. It will work on all stringed instruments and comes in other colors too. One other nice feature is that after attaching it to the headstock, you can swivel it in many directions so you can view it easily. We really like this, and it's also a nice gift idea if you know someone who plays a stringed instrument. A few of us, including me, in the family play guitar and we all really like it!Kedst123
I've never had a tuner before, I was using an app on my smart phone which was good when it picked up the audio but wasn't ideal for a bass guitar. So I finally decided to look into cheap yet reliable tuners. I found this, loved the look, checked out YouTube reviews and decided yeah it's worth the gamble, can't be worse than the app on my phone! Obviously I've heard of the brand D'addario so I knew quality wasn't going to be an issue. When it arrived I restrung my bass (I purchased new strings too) I was VERY impressed how this picks up and how quick it changes depending on me tuning the peg. It instantly made the app on my phone seem as junk as it was. So so very happy with the price, the product and its performance. Even if it were to break or die, I'd replace it with another one for sure. Very impressed for its priceLuke B.

Reviews:
I have previously used TC Electronics tuners with which I have had no complaints. I was looking for a cheap alternative to prevent me from having to carry my usual rack of pedals for my acoustic guitar when I was only going to play bass at a gig. The Behringer fits the bill admirably. I've not experienced some of the difficulties some hard-to-please people have posted on Youtube – crikey some people are petty – and would have no hesitancy in recommending the tuner to anybody else. And the price makes it a winner. N.B. I've been a pro/semi-pro musician for over 50 years.Stephen W.
Ich took this tuner as my old Korg Tuner started slowly to send me goodbye messages. After using it for several days the Korg is not used anymore. I don't see any dissadvanteges of this device – the differences to overpriced tuners of other companies are synthetic. I simply have not had any problems with Behringer devices at all. Price / Quality ratio at its best.
This tuner pedal works almost same like Boss TU-3 tuner pedal. I bought it based on YouTube reviews, found it really good. The review says it has got very bright power indicator LED which blinds to see the tuner LED's. But the pedal I received didn't have this problem, I think Behringer guys rectified this in the new production batches. This pedal is bit slow in responding (which I can live with) but gives accurate tuning. I took this pedal to quite a few gigs, it has never failed me (I bought it in Jan-15). Now this sits on my Bass guitarist's pedal-board, and he takes it to every gig we go, has never failed him too (he has got a 4-string Ibanez SR-300 bass). Overall nice tuner pedal for the bucks I paid. Pros- Accurate tuning Bright LED for better visibility Cons- Plastic casing (if you want to use it roughly..) Works only with external power supply.Abhijit D.

Awesome tuner. Perfectly compact. I have limited space on my pedal board and was trying to figure out how to fit the TU-3 while still being able to step on pedal. The TU-3s solved this problem while eliminating the need to turn it on with my foot. Is on as soon as I plug my pedal board in. Perfectly accurate. Couldn't be happier. Would definitely recommend this product.Chuck V

Reviews:
You WILL be satisfied with the Korg GA Custom Hand-Held Tuner. I had my doubts about ordering it because of the low B string on my 5-string bass guitar. The previous tuner I purchased would not even recognize the low B note. The Korg GA tuner zeroes right in on the note, just as easy as all the other strings. It's light weight, portable, easy to use and has bright, sexy tuning displays. Bottom line – Good job Korg!mrdecc
Cool trippy display. With several tuning modes to use you can kind of cross-check and get fairly precise tuning. Unfortunately, the built-in mic started giving me trouble after several weeks – sometimes it just wouldn't pick up the sound of the strings. Fresh batteries, holding close to the instrument didn't help. It just wasn't registering any external signal. Couple of weeks after that, the mic quit entirely and now I can only use it on electrics, or acoustics with pickups. Since I bought it mainly for my acoustic guitars, I can't say I'm satisfied. I emailed Korg and they actually did respond, but couldn't offer any solutions. I guess I'll keep shopping around for a good, accurate, reliable tuner.Rick
i would have liked a little bit crisper and clearer display, but i like the way it works, the design; and it seems very accurate. calibrate is useful if you're not 440 ing (hz) cons: very small, (about cassette tape size) light, easy to drop, no facility for keeping it still . being hitched up to a cord ( input~output ) could result in the weight of the cord banging it down or against something.bobtyme

This is the second clip-on type tuner I've purchased. I wasn't happy with the first, so I was skeptical about this unit. But, I'm being won over. Operation is a bit tricky, so I'd suggest a quick glance at the instruction sheet. Clip-ons don't work the same on every guitar, so my experience may not be the same as another owner. I play acoustic guitars. I usually clip the tuner on the headstock. The unit is small so it's not a distraction, although unless I'm having tuning problems, I usually take it off during a performance. I like the color indicators and background change from red to green when accuracy is achieved. I downgraded it a bit for the operational characteristics. Small buttons that require multiple pushes or "press & hold" annoy me. Still, it seems to do a fine job of tuning, the indicator is reasonably stable (doesn't jump around) and it's pretty easy to read while on the guitar.Firstson
My favorite tuner! It's tiny, so it fits everywhere. I usually play solo, so I don't worry if the guitar is "properly tuned." But sometimes I get a chance to play with a singer so it's important to get it right = the FT-1 works quickly and accurately, so I'm ready in a few seconds and people aren't standing around waiting for the guitar guy to get in tune. The screen is visible in any light, and I love the bright red/green indicator! I've never had a problem with sensitivity or background. Using the clip on different headstocks can be interesting, but that's a much bigger issue with other tuners – I have one guitar with a 5×2 tuner setup and I learned to clip the FT-1 on the headstock, on the bass side, as close to the nut as possible. It worked so well, I clip the FT-1 they same way on all my guitars. Overall, I'm very pleased and the FT-1 gets my biggest OK!guitarpicker7
It's a marginal tuner with a few problems. First of all, it's black & white before you get near the correct pitch. That's hard to see so you better have good light hitting it or you won't be able to see it. Once you're near your note, it turns either red or green to tell you you're off or on the note. I found that distracting and annoying. It's like this light show going on. Secondly, the indicator bar is about 1/3 of the display and also hard to see. It also needs to have more bars to tell you you're near your note. It only has a few. Other tuners have more bars for detail. I got this on Stupid Deal and it's not worth sending back. I might save it for someone's Xmas stocking and call it a day.MF Customer

A lot more tuner than I know how to use right now I'm ashamed to say. The instructions are a bit complicated for me but the tuner (which is why I bought the thing) is excellent. This is the fourth tuner that I have bought trying to find accuracy. All were close but this Strob Plus is right on the money the best that I can tell. I dial up Perfect Guitar Tuner on the internet and cut the Strobe Plus on and it doesn't move when the notes are sounded. That's what I've been looking for. Highly recommend it.rc-oval
Keeping guitars in tune is so easy with this tuner, extremely accurate and the difficult task of intonation becomes a breeze. Finally I can setup my guitars quickly and with excellent results. It may look a bit pricey compared to clip-on or pedal tuners, but the features, easiness to use and results pay for themselves. It is a great and worthy tool to have.j.a.
Best tuner ever! Clear display, extremely accurate tuning and easy to use. Long battery life means it can be used for several gigs between charges. I use it as an in-line tuner and mute the sound using another pedal. The only slight irritation is that it auto-powers off after 10 minutes inactivity. This means that it needs to be turned back on before starting a gig, and after the break. It would be great if I could disable this function but there is no way to do it. Otherwise, perfect!Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.

I purchased this a few weeks ago and I used it every day. I think it is ok. It gets the job done and is light. It does feel cheap and you will notice rattling especially when you tune the guitar. The note detection doesn't jump around like on the korg pitchclip 2 so that's a plus. It is also rechargeable and comes with a cable. I think it would be a decent backup in case your tuner breaks or forget to the battery. I charged it to full on the first day I got it and it still has 2/3 bars of power left. I would look at other options however.Lewis A
Great product which has several features. Good size and fully adjustable, so can clip on to your instrument – guitar, ukulele or violin. And recharge too, this is what sold it for me, too annoying having to purchase batteries for tuners. Well played Fender (see what I did there 😉) A must for any musician, regardless of rank.Mr D. U.
All is great except for one thing. The tuner has multiple modes (guitar, bass, etc.) which is great. But after use I'd like to be able to turn the tuner off immediately. But when you touch the power button, it simply switches modes. To turn it off you have to hold down the power button a few moments to turn it off (instead of just switching modes). I'd like an "instant off" button.Sherman

Reviews:
The Korg CA-1 Chromatic tuner is what I'd call "a proper old fashioned guitar tuner" in that it doesn't clip onto the headstock. It's more like the tuner I used in the early 80s, it's powered by a couple of AAA batteries (supplied) meaning that I can use re-chargeables, and not have to worry about a little button cell quitting on me. Being a chromatic tuner finally allows me to really be in tune when I use my trusty capo or decide to stretch out to an alternative tuning. The familiar 180 degree tuning arc is aided by LED's that signify flat/in tune/sharp. The belt and braces way of doing things that my old but similarly priced "Kwik Tune" tuner lacked, and it wasn't even chromatic either. Korg is a well known name in the music world so I expect this piece of kit to stand the test of time as long as it's not thrown about too much. At this price, can you really go wrong?joegarbled-uk
The ability to use it chromatically is amazing in a practice setting, because before you even turn your amp on you can plug into the tuner, get set, and then shred away. Also works well with all acoustic wind instruments. The mic is not so sensitive it'll pick up every little noise, but not useless. Amazing little piece of gear to always keep in you bag/pocket. Easy to change out 2 AA batteries and they power it for a pretty long time. Nice, bright green and red lights tell you when you're okay so you see on stage. Not preferred for live guitar performances, but if necessary, it's quick, reliable, and accurate.American Dan
any given situation if its a tuning I can't do by ear I'll use this no matter if its a cheap guitar, floating a floyd rose , tuning a bass to tuning a guitar with the wiring disconnected I always turn to korg. Perfect for home use to in the studio. Only thing i wouldn't use this for is playing live and having say two guitars and no one back stage with me, I'd imaging I'd look stupid constantly having to change tunings with one of these , i'd rather a pedal version in that case. only ONE way this can get better, a light up LED screen and an easier way to put in new batteries. tune to anything since it shoots up letters instead of just saying standard tuning without any extra effort, its simple and works great, this is why they call them chromatic tuner of course. Has a microphone built in so you can tune bass guitars to just sing in it or put the thing up to the speakers of your computer and get notes and it even plays notes for those who got a good ear for music. I've used this on pretty much every big brand as I've owned 20+ guitars and the same results every time, bass guitars and acoustics this always does the trick. Its fast and accurate and believe me I've tried many other tuners. So regardless if I got to tune a bass to really low tunings , 7 strings , 8 .. in any tuning even the ones I have to wikipedia this shines through. It hasnt broken and the batteries last very long. the only other tuner I've liked as much was my Line 6 Pod XT's back in the day because when I was recording tracks and i felt i was out of tune it was on screen. But seriously you hear the over used term worth every penny , without a doubt this is. I've dropped it so many times and it still works like new.Jason Tallwood

So, I really didn't know what to expect when I bought this pedal, I just figured that hey, its a tuner pedal, you can't really mess that up. The pedal in the beginning was great, it tuned my bass as it was supposed to, however, the actual switch didn't not take long to give out. By that I mean that it got to the point that it would come on randomly while I was playing (not good when actually performing) and it just would not turn off. I had to keep playing with the pedal until it would stay off. Ultimately, I just had to get rid of it. Honestly, its just a cheap pedal. If you're not looking for longevity, go ahead and buy it. But I think you should spend you money on something better.Benji

Reviews:
Having been a big fan of the Snark tuners for years, it was a big disappointment to find that it had to be removed from my new guitar in order to put it in its case. This little widget has really saved the day! Because of its ultra-small body, somewhat limited positioning ability and ratchet clamp design, there's only a couple of places this tuner can really mount on the headstock of a Gibson es339 style guitar, but it mounts securely and is easily operated and that is a great thing! Those two positions, by the way, are on either side of the headstock, between the nut and closest tuner key and even then the bulk of the truss rod cover almost makes that not work. But the display rotates a full 360 degrees horizontally, so it's easy to position it for easy reading once in place. As much as I am thrilled to be able to keep a tuner on the headstock while the guitar is in its case again, that's not to say this tuner couldn't benefit from some changes, however. 1- the battery is a pain to remove, 2- the display is almost too small and information is cramped and not very crisp, 3- the ratchet clamp, although secure enough for my needs, might not be in some positions and with more active players. Two BIG Love/Hate issues I have with the Micro Tuner and changes I would make, if it were up to me would be: 1- make the display about 1/4" bigger all the way around. It's compact design makes it both great and troublesome. Just a little bit larger and text could be more readable. 2- Including a metronome is GREAT and its display works a lot better for me than the little beating heart of the Snark, but why wasn't the metronome function button made to be a TAP tempo button? The arrow buttons already default as calibration adjustments for the center reference pitch. The metronome button could have just been made to override the pitch calibration function, instead of to choose between functions. A metronome-on/tap tempo button would just be the icing on the cake here (in my opinion). Overall, great tuner – responsive, accurate, compact and appears to be of good build quality. Worth every penny to me.uptildawnsearlylite
This little tuner is really easy to use and discrete in appearance. I'm by no means a professional musician but getting my guitar and ukulele in tune is important to me. The D'Addario NS Mini is easily transferable between instruments and has excellent adjustability to make sure I get the right note on each. PMT delivered my order very promptly and their site was very easy to navigate and make a purchase from.Richard B.
This is the second one which I purchased to put it on my electric guitar, couse I was very satisfied with the first one, wich is perfectly "on duty" on my other acoustic guitar. This little tuner is a great product, so discrete and almost invisible on guitar headstock, it is very simple to use and quite accurate. Despite the small overall dimension, the display is very bright and readable. The price is very affordable and the utility is unbeatable, so I strongly recommend to purchase it!

Good built quality and necessary functions both as Tuner or Metronome. The good thing about tuner is it shows the number next to the notes like G4 which is a great option and helps a lot. A backlit screen and better microphone for faster recognition will be amazing updates for next gen.Essi D.
I pluck hard, so it takes a second for the harmonics to settle down, but then it is fast and accurate. Sweet feeling when the two lights kiss! I have only used it a few times, so I am going to do the obvious and learn to pluck lighter when tuning. The key signature letters are bold and easy to read, but my tired old eyes have trouble with the flat & Sharp symbols. Packaging and action is standard Boss excellence. I had to laugh at the "Is it enjoyable?" question. Yes, we just live to tune up the old axe!danjammen
Great Boss quality, seems to be solid as usual, easy to use, probably has some features I won't use but glad they are there. My only complaint is that the # sharp led is TINY … actually fairly hard to see compared to all the other lights on the pedal… if that light was double the size or even triple it would be in a good proportion. Otherwise it is good and hope it lasts as long as my TU-12telecastermasters

Literally took this thing out of the package. Clipped it on the guitar neck and started with the 6th string. Strum the string and the Note displays. If its the wrong note, simply tighten or loosen the guitar string till the note shows and its solid blue. Color display is easy to use and shows if your going the wrong way or getting close to being on time. Buy it and stop wondering and use it.rogerpk
I tried to use this product several times for acoustic guitar tuning. It is not accurate enough for me. The display was not clear enough. I've played Fender guitars for years and have used this type of tuner for 1 year or more. I much prefer Snark tuners. The Fender tuner was not precise enough in tuning. I would have to use the Snark tuner to more finely tune my guitar. The display was also not that bright. I could not discern when proper pitch was reached.duxr9870

I tried both Korg CA-40 and OT-120. They both have one weakness that you need to purchase a microphone to pick up the input sound especially in the range of c6 and above. Between OT-120 and CA-40. I would prefer CA-40. The digital readout is easy and the number readout give an indication of how close you are. It appears more accurate than OT-120. Initially, I thought OT-120 is more expensive and it might be more powerful or more accurate or more something. After tested it, I found the ability of accuracy is equal. A microphone to pick up the sound for the equipment is essential.howardchu
No mention in the printed instructions about how to use common equal temperament. I understood after some hesitation that there is simply NO display in the right upper part of the screen when equal temperament is used. The NIL DISPLAY is bound to be the default setting, but nothing says it. It would only take an extra line in the printed instructions to specify that the absence of display in that area means that the device is set to equal temperament. At first sight, this is not at all obvious, and less experienced users might accidentally choose TRANS or worse a historical tuning, instead of the modern equal temperament as we commonly know it, for example in piano tuning. But the device is very useful, sophisticated and wonderfully precise, congratulations to Korg ! well done !Jean-Pierre
This tuner may have full Orchestral range, but it is not an effective tuner for pianos. The built-in mic does not work well in picking up the notes of the low register piano keys. Plus the high frequencies of the piano keys do not ring out long enough for this tuner to recognize the note. The tuner itself is good quality, but not for pianos. For pianos, you're better off buying a tuner designed specifically to work with a piano. My star rating is solely based on piano usage.Gilbert
