Overall: Whether you're trying to dial in a wet surf rock reverb or an ambient shoegaze tone with lots of atmosphere, this pedal can do it all. This is hands down the best pedal I've ever purchased and far surpasses any other reverb pedal I've heard. You can even tweaked it to make it sound like a proper spring reverb unit on an old fender amp. There's also a handy shimmer effect you can use to get some angelic and synth-like tones, which can sound monolithic accompanied with a fuzz. I'd recommend this pedal for any style of playing, as it's one of the most versatile ones on the market right now. Also since it's Boss it's built like an absolute tank. I use a few different brands of pedals and Boss makes solid pedals. This rv6 pedal makes a great variety of reverbs that sound very good with cleans, on every setting. I play with a few different distortions. It is very difficult to dial in a good reverb sound with too much distortion. The level setting has to be low and the sensitivity of the effects are boosted and that makes it very hard to easily swap from clean to dirty without major changes. Dirty will require serious tweaking. I would give it a 3 star because it's not friendly to dirty, but I'll give it 4 stars just because the cleans really do sound great and the variety and quality of sounds are in a price range well below many other reverbs of this caliber. It's a BOSS, a tank. I did mess with the shimmer with crunch and low level and found some decent sounds.Ghostpuncher
I got this as a catch-all reverb to round out a basic pedal board I use for home practice and hobby recording. First off, all the "usual suspect" reverb tones sound really great in the effects loop of my Bogner Atma combo. I had read reviews of the RV6 where it had been criticized for sounding digital/grainy, but I preferred it over the Oceans and HOF2 I compared it to. I classify myself as a somewhat fussy "toan snob" who still prefers tubes and analog, so I wonder if maybe that "digital/grainy" complaint was with it going straight in, out in front of the preamp. I'll have to get around to trying it like an outboard spring verb sometime. I really dig the shimmer verb, especially with a flanged, overdriven lead tone. I need to get an expression pedal now and play around with oscillating that! Last thing I want to compliment is the helpful buffer the Boss adds at the tail end of my board. Overall: First- I own the Nemesis delay one as well as a TC alter ego x4 and TC HOF Reverb: When I first fired this up I was wowed by the shimmer and edome reverb but after diving in I found that none of the reverbs are warm in the slightest sense. Even adjusting the tone knob would not warm up any of the types of reverb. Delays: not even close to either my nemesis or TC alter ego x4. Once again the delays sounded thin with a high end shimmer to every type that I could not dial out. User interface: very frustrating to use in stand alone non app mode. You need to remember to switch over what you want to control. If you are adjusting kets say reverb mix level and do not save it and then go to adjust delay, the reverb looses its settings etc. App- my LG phone would not work with this unit. Works fine on my Nemesis. PC app: plugging this into your computer generates so much noise that its not possible to hear your guitar while making adjustments. The PC app has very limited capabilities so if your phone app wont work youre just out of luck. Over all I say a hard pass on this. It would have saved so much room. Bummer.Ty
I have a Line 6 HX FX and it supports my needs for the most part. But the Reverb and Delays are very lacking. That's where the Collider comes in. The 56 bit engines for each effect makes this pedal a great pedal when it comes to reverb and or delays. The controls couldn't be more simple to adjust, and the toggle switch controlling which controls do what is a nice touch. Full MIDI implementation makes this pedal work with any setup. You can run Delay+Reverb at the same time in series, parallel, or run 2 delays or 2 reverbs at the same if you like. I have had the pedal for a month and it continues to surprise me in the tones. The software app for PC/MAC and Android/ios allows even more versatility and fine tuning, including sharing presets. Although I heard great sound samples of the pedal, it exceeds my expectations in ease of use and tone. The big pluses for me is the sound, and the ease to make great pre-sets.Dave
First of all you can’t go wrong with any Source Audio gear. This pedal will become your favorite reverb, delay. As soon as you plug it in you’ll hear some amazing tone with out digging deep into the manual. I do recommend you look the manual over, because this masterpiece of a pedal has some hidden features. You can use 2 delays at the same time or 2 reverbs. The pedal is designed perfectly. The knobs are labeled so even a bass player could figure it out. Sturdy unit full of good quality effects. This is the first "cheap" unit that has impressed me with its pre amps. It even manages a passable vox sound that others at this price point fail to achieve. My favourite things about this unit are as follows : 1. The amount of usable presets out the box. Even the more whacky ones can generally be quickly tweaked into something usable. Other brands tend to fill their presets with ridiculous over the top high gain, and what I would call low budget sci-fi sound effects. Boss have done a good job with the GT1. 2. Ease of editing. While you can access the effects chain easily through the menu system, the buttons along the top physically represent a typical effects chain. Press and hold for a second on any one and you are straight into the effect behind it for easy editing or changing to a different effect. Negatives: lack of an on/off switch. It switches on by plugging in an instrument cable – minor annoyance but that's just me. Only other thing is no battery indicator, and I seriously doubt the 7hr battery life claim. The supplied ones died after about 2-3 hrs and the duracells I replaced them with haven't fared much better. I do have a power supply but wanted to see how the battery's would hold up if I had to do a gig on them. Probably wouldn't trust them and would carry two sets as backup rather than one.David B.
This is overall a great pedal. This will give you a wide variety of tones and effects that you can personalize for whatever music you play. Other pedals will offer maybe one tone and you may have to try different ones and might not be happy with them or have to buy multiple ones and spend lots of money to have a well set up pedal board. You can literally spend all day picking out distortion pedals and feel lost on where to go. With this you can go through a wide variety and set it up however you want and save the settings. This isn't some plug and play kinda pedal. You will need to spend time with it and get to know it. It is kinda confusing and there are YouTube videos that help as well. The sounds are decent for the price. I downloaded all three pdfs are they are basically useless when it comes to setting up patches, adding an external pedal and the overall operation. I gave up on trying to assign functions to the FS-6 I bought with it. There are no real explications how to use the 6 assignment functions. I think the headphone output is mono as I can only hear in one ear. You can get some decent patches off of tone exchange I'll probably sell it .Kenneth

This is my first chorus pedal. I like the sound and it does what it needs to do. I own several Behringer pedals, and although they are plastic, I never had any quality issues with them. Never felt I needed to be extra careful with them either. I'm mainly using them at home, so they don't need to be build like a tank.
I have heard this Stereo Chorus in action. I wanted one for my own! Back-ordered.?.?.? Wait 3 months?.?.?. ok… I'll wait. It just came in and I have spent 2 glorious weeks finding out what it can do. With one amp (a Peavey Backstage Plus, 10", 35 watts) it sounds pretty good. Not quite as good as my Fender Princeton, 2X10" stereo chorus (I put in a baffle plate to help sonically isolate the 2 speakers…) Played stereo into 2 amps, Crate 35 watts, about 15 feet apart, feeding each one from the stereo outputs, it sounds lush, dreamy, swirly, and full of character. I mostly play ballads and love songs, nylon fingerstyle (think: Love Me Tender, In My life, Morning has Broken.. Side by Side, etc) This stereo chorus, on slow/moderate settings, is perfect to enhance a romantic feeling, without getting syrupy or seasick…. It was definitely worth the wait!!guitarpicker7
Don't buy this pedal. It's cheap, yes, but the quality is no good. First of all, it's made out of plastic. But there are bigger issues. With either of my Fendor Stratocasters, the thing distorts if I run standard-level sound through it. It's very distorted when the chorus is enabled. But even worse, only one of the two output channels actually has the chorus effect. The other output channel is a clean passthrough. The Level control is not stereo, so it only attenuates the output of the channel which has chorus, leaving the other channel at clean-passthrough level. Over-all, this thing is a piece of junk. It's not worth buying, at any price. If you own one, the best thing you can do is try to pawn it, or pitch it into the trashcan. You're much better off with something from Boss or Digitech. You can't buy cheap and expect to have good quality — you'll just end up wasting your money and your time. Life's too short. Just say "no".Ron

Ich war auf der Suche nach einem Fuzz, mit dem eine Vielzahl von Fuzzibilities umgesetzt werden können. Letztlich hat mich dann die Fat Fuzz Factory überzeugt. Optik und Verarbeitung: Bei der Optik kann ich zugunsten des Preises auf die handbemalten Versionen verzichten – zumal ich es sowieso nicht so bunt auf dem Pedalboard mag. Das Pedal ist angenehm schwer für seine kleine Größe und der Widerstand der Regler sorgt für wertige Präzision. Soweit top! Klang und Features: Ich müsste hier Romane schreiben, um die verschiedenen Sounds zu beschreiben. Und selbst dann würde ich sicher noch nicht alle berücksichtigt haben. Nur kurz: Vom Vintage Fuzz über Stoner Fuzz bis komplett kaputte Störsignale sowie knarzende, knisternde Röhren ist hier alles drin. Der Fat Switch sieht zwar unscheinbar aus, multipliziert aber die Soundmöglichkeiten noch mal um das Dreifache mit deutlichen Unterschieden. Zudem entdecke ich fast jedes Mal neue Sounds je nach vorschalten eines leichten, analogen Overdrives oder beim Griff zu anderen Gitarren bzw. Pickups (ist ja auch logisch, verblüfft aber trotzdem, wie es reagiert). Bedienung: Hier teilen sich meist die Meinungen. Mich persönlich reizt es, zu verstehen, wie das Drehen der Regler die Sounds beeinflusst und es macht Spaß, damit auch im Bereich feiner Nuancen zu experimentieren. Es ist aber (vor allem am Anfang) etwas Fummelei und nicht selten quiekt der Amp bei leichtfertigem Drehen der Regler. Fazit: Preis/Leistung stimmt. Wer schnell zwischen verschiedenen Presets hin- und her schalten möchte und nicht unbedingt die Zeit oder Lust hat, nach seinen Sounds zu suchen, für den sind sicher andere Fuzz-Pedals geeigneter. Wer unzählige Fuzz-Sounds möchte und gern experimentiert, der kommt nicht an der Fuzz Factory vorbei.
This thing can do Smashmouth "When the Morning Comes" style fuzz. As well as Rolling Stones "Satisfaction". And with the bass switch I have even coaxed a unique "Spirit In The Sky" out of it. from the get go i was looking for a fuzz that stood out something weirder than your normal FUZZ , i researched for hours and found this little fat sack of fuzz and decided to go with it due to the fame of its predecessor fuzz factory and because this thing sounded wild just insane variety of fuzz you can get just on the first setting alone , the three way octave switch this thing has makes it , it really creates something completely different for each mode you can dial in a raunchy dirty grind fuzz in switch 1" basic fuzz factory" right into switch 3 which just gives it an insane low end doom fuzz and then over to switch 2 and it creates something unique again. this thing is like having three fuzz pedals cause any dial in will sound significantly different in each switch setting which is really nice , too bad the vexter series is only a 2 year warranty , i love this pedal so much i get paranoid it will go out or something in that case id gladly pay for it again its that good , ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… last thing id like to add is its use with other effects pedals , i could not find any information online about its use with other effects for me i was looking for information about fuzz with reverb , with normal distortion tones i like to use alot of reverb to give it that distant haunting quality , with the fat fuzz factory your going to want to run it as the first pedal from your guitar for maximum quality and i have to say it does sound better with out any effects as a stand alone you get some serious warm analog fuzz tones that i have never imagined , something impossible to get from a normal fuzz for me , the fat fuzz factory is THICK WARM AND FAT through a tube amp , just love it , in use with my HOF reverb pedal it works but you loose a little warmth and buzz of the fuzz , will work nice with effects but as a standalone your ears will just melt in WARM FAT THICK SATURATED FUZZ it almost tickles your ear drum in a soothing way , for someone who does not want an insane variety of crazy weird fuzz tones go with something plain but for those of you who want an eccentric pedal this is your grailLORD LOCK JAW LANDO OLE

I've used units like this before, (PD HD500X and an old Vox Tone Lab) but felt they still sounded artificial. The BOSS GX100 is amazing! The learning curve is hilariously easy, and the touch screen makes editing on the fly a breeze. The other guitar player in the band couldn't believe the sound coming through FOH… and the recording needed no tweaking in the studio. Incredibly happy with this purchase, as with everything I've purchased from Sweetwater. BOSS has outdone themselves again.
Overall: This is a heavy duty pedal with so many different great sounding amps and effects that I don't even know where to start. Well built is an understatement. The build of it screams professional. from the chassis to the knobs and expression pedal this thing feels Pro in every way.The amps are fewer than most companies offer but BOSS went the quality over quantity route here. From crystalline cleans to all out brutal and everything in between. The drives are excellent and so are the modulations, delays, and reverbs. I find them superior to my Helix actually. There's not enough room in this review box for me to go over everything I love. A couple things I do not love..There's no poly pitch in this unit. The assigns can be confusing at times especially when it comes to assigning the expression pedal. It was ok once I wrapped my head around it but it was definitely and obstacle I had to overcome. i wanted to compare this to my boss hm-2 pedal but i can't get to it at this time, so i'll have to do this by itself. this is a very nice distortion pedal. again the plastic casing is durable and inexpensive ,so you're getting a good pedal for the money.the level and distortion controls are sensitive- i consider a plus. i do wish there was more bass in the in the low frequency control. now you might be asking, "why don't i cut back on the high frequency control?". here's why : the high frequency control appears to be a combination high frequency/gain control! the more you turn it up, the more gain. combined with the sensitive dist/level controls this is a nice feature if you want that. i like it . i can always boost the bass on the amp/EQ/whatever. i like to use different dimensions of distortions and if you are like me ,i recommend this.thurstonnalley
I guess I'm more of a roady/studio guy than I am an artist, as I've always got more out of turning knobs then actually playing music lol. I bought this pedal for one reason and one sound only. The Swedish "chainsaw" guitar tone of the 90's that came out of Sunlight Studios that was popularized by bands like Entombed and Dismembered. I think it sounds incredibly good considering I bought it NEW for 25 bones plus shipping! The distortion is sometimes a bit over the top, but cleans up when you roll back the volume knobs on the guitar. I imagine you could really get some interesting tones going if you paired this pedal with a compressor and eq both before and after it in the signal chain (and with Behringer that's actually an affordable option), and of course, a tube amp, as most of the bands with that sound supposedly used Peavey 5150 tube heads. Very nasty distortion pedal, if you could travel back in time to the 90's you could probably sell this to a metal head for absolutely ridiculous amounts of money. If you are not buying this pedal for a certain "Swedish death metal" sound or just metal in general, I would not recommend this pedal, as there are probably much better pedals out there for what you need. Its made out of plastic which I personally don't mind, as I'm not a touring or gigging musician. If I stomped on it several times a night for half a year I dunno how that would work out. Not a big fan of the color, but then again, I didn't buy this pedal for aesthetic value. Another great effects pedal from BOSS. The DD-7 is quite like a 'Swiss-Army-Knife' in the realm of compact delay pedals. Built with the standard of quality that BOSS is known for. The delay range is amazingly vast from 1ms to 6.4 seconds, plus a 40 second looper, as well as assorted delay types like modulation, analog and reverse. I haven't purchased a Boss delay for years. I did buy a DM-2 Waza to retire my vintage unit. I've just always been an analog delay guy. However, I bought the DD-8 on a whim because I needed a delay for a project that required some specific sounds. Namely a stereo reverse delay sound. I figured I'd give this one a try. This is a home run pedal. Every notch on the mode knob yielded usable and inspiring delays. The only part that I haven't used is the looper but if it works like the other modes, I'm sure it's excellent. No regrets here on this one. It might even knock a Strymon delay off of my main board.JV
Really delivers a lot for the price point. I wanted a delay to do nearly everything and do it well, and this does it. I'm more of a digi, tape & analog delay user, and I don't care much for the more "out there" options, but they are fun to mess with. I use this in mono 99% of the time, so my only gripe against the pedal doesn't really matter much at all. I wish it had a wider stereo field and wish it had a ping pong options in settings, but again, I use it in mono mostly, so no big deal. The DD-200 is super easy to dial in and presets work simply. I like that it has a dedicated Manual mode so I can just use it without worrying about presets. Awesome delay.KC

This is going to be a marmite product – if you only plays Chicago blues you are going to struggle to find a use. However if you enjoy playing many other styles, it adds to your tone pallet. Gut feeling is it will take practice to get more than swoop up/down Morello impersonations- it's like a new instrument at my feet. As pitch shifters go it has impeccable tracking and wealth of features. It covers several other Digitech products in one rather large red box – going to need a bigger pedal board. One feature is the warbleless chorus. All that richness without the whooshing. Another feature is the fixed pitch shifting which lets it be used as a virtual capo. I use this only sparingly, but it is so awesome to be able to transpose my guitar a half step up or a half step down in seconds to play songs in the key our singer requests while keeping proper fingering and not needing addtional, alternately tuned guitars. Does an awesome job tracking, but again, I only go a half step up or down, so the sound quality is still really good….sure beats the hassle of bringing several guitars and having to switch. We tune a half step down, and I use it for this purpose on few of the songs we perform at gigs. I have this first in line, right after my guitar, so it works extremely well for whammy and drop/raise tuning applications, but since it is not in an effects loop, the harmony option doesn't sound good. I run this into the front of my Soldano SLO100. I also love the whammy side on rare occasion, to throw in a wild noise ,,,or if I'm ever asked to play any Rage Against the Machine songs. Again, I use it very rarely/sparingly, but I highly recommend and I love having it on my board for when I do use it.Al
This pedal is terrific. Very easy to learn and intuitive. It has two sides: on the left, you have your whammy/harmony effects, with some nice chorus-y sounding detune effects thrown in for good measure. On the right, you have your detune effects where you can go up or down seven semitones, or a full octave higher or lower, with or without dry signal. This means you can instantly take your standard tuned guitar down to C, or B, or hell, even A if you're TRVLY CVLT. You can play an octave lower with dry signal and voila, you now have a bassline running underneath your guitar. I bought this pedal because I love whammy effects, and originally was going to buy the Whammy 5, but this is that pedal PLUS the detune effects. Overall: After purchasing – and being mostly disappointed with – modelers from other brands I was hesitant to spend the considerable sum on the GT 1000 core. But after extensive review of specs and sounds on Youtube and a good deal from zZounds I went for it. I purchased it solely for the presets because my past ventures into programming haven't been good. I haven't gotten through all of them yet but unlike all the other units I've tried that have only a very few actually useful preset patches, the GT-1000 has a considerable number of them, going straight into my studio console, flat EQ, no additional processing or effects. The verdict so far: I don't think I'll ever again have to use a microphone to record most guitar parts. Additionally, Boss has kept the noise levels surprisingly down on the hard overdriven patches, also unlike the other units I've mentioned. The only drawback I've found – and it isn't major – is that there is a dearth of straightforward Fender clean sounds without effects. I'm sure there's a way in the internal programming to deal with that but I haven't found it necessary yet. The effects are pristine – very well done. All-in-all, worth the money.Jerry
I sold my Line6 HD500X multi fx board and bought this because there were some effects I wanted, like autoswell and some other aspects of this that I preferred, like the smaller size and the ability to add 2 extra expression pedals was great (the inexpensive Nektar pedals=great). I was able to get sounds I liked, but was frustrated by some limitations to how many duplicate effects I could stack, and there were times when I got frustrated with it. I had an instance when trying to record with a friend when it just wouldn't pair with my MacBook Pro for recording through Logic. And other times when working with effects there would be some non-intuitive things I'd have to relearn how to do. I've been working with similar units like this from back in the day with rack effects, and owned many models of DOD, Digitech, LIne6, Rockman, and Zoom but this was my first Boss multi-effect unit. I tried to love it, and the form factor and size is great, but ultimately moved to the Headrush Pedalboard full size unit. It was between that and the Helix, but the Headrush got me. It's got the best user interface of anything out there, with the touch screen and custom naming for each of the footswitches, and the hands-free editing mode (so easy!). If I could give the Boss GT-1000 3.5 stars, I'd do that, but ultimately, I can't recommend it because for the money, the Headrush blows it away for usability: speed of creating presets, adjusting on the fly when performing, and ability to name the footswitch so you know what each one on a given preset does. The Boss has the advantage only for size and weight and the double external expression pedal jacks. As far as effects, I guess that comes down to personal preference on the specifics, but I'd say they are more similar than they are different. No effects unit out there can compete with the software plugins I use for recording and mixing, so for me, it came down to the best for live, spontaneous control, and that's where the GT-1000 lacked.Matt F
I originally tried the Headrush portable effects unit, and although it was simple to use, the sounds were not as close to the original petals as I was hoping for. I then switched to the HX stop, and although it had great amp emulations, again, most of the pedals did not sound that close to the originals to my ears. Upon switching to the GT 1000 core, the user interface was not as simple, but the tones were by far the closest to the original pedals that I had found. I do not use it for the amp emulations much, although those sound good too. But where this pedal shines for me is saving space on my pedalboard, by being all of the modulation pedals that I could ever want in one box, and they sound very close to the original pedals to my ears. I use it for the Boss chorus CE-2, the tape delay, Space Echo, plate reverb, phaser, flanger, harmonizer, pedal bend, and pitch shift. For all of those it is fantastic and sounds much closer to the originals than the others I tried did. It does have a slightly bigger learning curve to get everything set as compared to some of the others out there, but once you have it dialed in it is super simple to switch back-and-forth. And tone wise it is by far the best for me.S

Sturdy unit full of good quality effects. This is the first "cheap" unit that has impressed me with its pre amps. It even manages a passable vox sound that others at this price point fail to achieve. My favourite things about this unit are as follows : 1. The amount of usable presets out the box. Even the more whacky ones can generally be quickly tweaked into something usable. Other brands tend to fill their presets with ridiculous over the top high gain, and what I would call low budget sci-fi sound effects. Boss have done a good job with the GT1. 2. Ease of editing. While you can access the effects chain easily through the menu system, the buttons along the top physically represent a typical effects chain. Press and hold for a second on any one and you are straight into the effect behind it for easy editing or changing to a different effect. Negatives: lack of an on/off switch. It switches on by plugging in an instrument cable – minor annoyance but that's just me. Only other thing is no battery indicator, and I seriously doubt the 7hr battery life claim. The supplied ones died after about 2-3 hrs and the duracells I replaced them with haven't fared much better. I do have a power supply but wanted to see how the battery's would hold up if I had to do a gig on them. Probably wouldn't trust them and would carry two sets as backup rather than one.David B.
This is overall a great pedal. This will give you a wide variety of tones and effects that you can personalize for whatever music you play. Other pedals will offer maybe one tone and you may have to try different ones and might not be happy with them or have to buy multiple ones and spend lots of money to have a well set up pedal board. You can literally spend all day picking out distortion pedals and feel lost on where to go. With this you can go through a wide variety and set it up however you want and save the settings. This isn't some plug and play kinda pedal. You will need to spend time with it and get to know it. It is kinda confusing and there are YouTube videos that help as well. The sounds are decent for the price. I downloaded all three pdfs are they are basically useless when it comes to setting up patches, adding an external pedal and the overall operation. I gave up on trying to assign functions to the FS-6 I bought with it. There are no real explications how to use the 6 assignment functions. I think the headphone output is mono as I can only hear in one ear. You can get some decent patches off of tone exchange I'll probably sell it .Kenneth

I've owned 8 reverb units over the last 30 years. This is a nice one. I just set it on the spring setting at about 8 o'clock and leave it there. Too much reverb sounds like a joke anyway, I grew up w/ spring reverb sounds from Fender amps like Princeton Reverb, Deluxe Reverb, Super and Twin reverb. etc. This won't sound exactly like that, but for the price it gets pretty close. It will work fine for recording/ performing w/o issues. I did notice it sounds different when using a single coil guitar vs. a Humbucker, that's a standard issue. True bypass is great. You can buy with confidence ,but you need to understand it's not like spending major money on a high end unit. I can say , no one will ever say, "hey that's a bad reverb" who will ever notice that…. maybe some super sound studio recording guy with 40 years of studio time ? who cares, plug it in a dial in a setting you like and play and enjoy.VJ
Excellent budget effects pedal – Great value – Has 3 basic settings Spring/Plate and Hall – Reverb sweep is very limited range, but mix control is almost unlimited (you can adjust to make it sound like your playing in the next house!) – I generally only use reverb to add snap to a dry signal amp, so was not expecting true ambience at this price range. *Pros – Robust build, large sweep controls, very quiet and clean, True bypass, optional 9V battery (you don't see many of those today do you?) For a quarter the price of most reverb pedals this is incredible value. It has a comprehensive range of reverb types with full adjustment for each. Each sounds great and so far I have fpund nothing I disliked. The pedal is quiet, no unwanted hum or clicks and the bypass apears to be full bypass. I ran this pedal through the front of my jet City 20 with a 4×12 greenback celestions and pedal was way out of control, until I ran it through effects loop in back of head. This tamed the pedal down nicely, it gave me the reverb I was looking for with out taking away from the organic tones of the tube amp. This pedal from German manufacturer KMA is a combined delay and reverb pedal. Having more controls than a battle star it takes a bit of getting used to. The build quality is excellent. It’s capable of producing some great sounds. I’m gradually beginning to love it. The included instruction card leaves quite a lot to be desired. There are a lot of full-featured reverb pedals on the market today, most of them with some sort of shimmer/octave/pitch-shifting mode. A few things set this pedal apart from its counterparts. First off is just the amount of control you get over the processed signal. Being able to mix the signal heading into the reverb circuit, the reverb unit itself, and then the final blend, lets you get sounds that are just not possible on 4-knob units. Everything from subtle to watery to full-on church-organ psychedelia. Next, you get three memory banks to save your creations. You could use Red for no-frills reverb, blue for slight modulation, and red for the crazy stuff. Or just save different flavors of crazy stuff in all three, it's up to you. Lastly, you've also got the option of running it in stereo if you'd like (which really amplifies the effect), plugging in an expression pedal for realtime control of the reverb, and also plugging in a two-button controller to make the buttons more accessible if the Descent finds a home at the back of your pedalboard. This might be an old reverb algorithm but it is a classic and still stands the test of time. Nothing else sounds quite like it. Initially I was a bit concerned about not having analog dry through, but actually I think part of this pedal's sound and the way the wet and dry signals blend benefits hugely from this.Carl W.

expensive pedals but i never had something like this. this pedals is just unique it's not just a regular drive pedal. this circuit is based on vintage amps circuits and it does it really well. you can get marshall plexi / vox ac30 and fender like tones easy! its also a heavier pedal and somewhat larger than common but this is quality. maybe i'll buy his big brother next thanks Musicstore.
It's big, it's heavy, it has a lot of knobs, and it the most amp-like drive pedal I've ever used. Unlike many amp in a box type pedals, this pedal attempts to recreate amps at a circuit level rather than producing a polished, idealized amp tone. As such, it can be a little trebly and harsh depending on the settings. Like the amps it endeavors to recreate, it will allow you to dial in terrible tones. It may take a little work to dial it in but it's worth the effort. I recommend taking a few minutes to read the manual. All the knobs and switches may seem complicated at first but they're really not. Some are dedicated to dialing in amp tones and some are dedicated to tweaking EQ to match whatever you're plugging into. It didn't take me long to get good tones using my Fender '68 Custom Deluxe Reverb. I'm an old school kind of player in that I like to use the guitar volume and pick dynamics to control grit and this pedal delivers in that respect. Pick softly and it cleans up nicely. Slam it and it gets gnarly — just like a tube amp. However, if you want hotrodded, super high gain tones you may need to hit the front end with an overdrive or boost. My only gripe is having to use the external switch if I want the mid controls engaged on both channels. I've found that I prefer it that way but it's not a big deal. I understand that there's only so much functionality that can be squeezed in without having to go to a bigger enclosure. It's amazing how much they managed to squeeze in. Overall, I find the the Custom Revival Drive, like the Cali76, to be a great piece of gear.Todd
