Sound: It's a basic looper, but the footswitch allows to stop with one tap. All I need for acoustic show. Overall: I purchased the RC-1 for my weekly acoustic shows to replace my RC-300 that I purchased several years ago and love to use, but after lugging up three floors for a show at a wine bar, and the fact that I don't even use the 2nd and 3rd tracks for acoustic show, I decided the only thing I really need for most of my acoustic looping was just one track. In no way could I get used to double-tap to stop, but I have my FS-6 footswitch that works great to stop the RC-1 with one tap AND I can move the footswitch a few feet away so I don't have to be 'perfect' on the stepping like I would the Rc-300. I would still use the 300 for rock/electric shows, as it has mega capabilities, but for my acoustic show where i just usually either want to loop the solo section, or the entire song, this little inexpensive RC-1 works great, and the $100 price justifies the purchase.
For a compact looper pedal this has, great features. The deal breaker is the circular led panel. While this pedal functions in a basic way the led tells you exactly what is happening and where you are in you loop. That knowledge makes me far more confident to use it live. You can end the playback and erase the loop silently or pause the playback and use it again – useful if a lead break is later in the song. You record the rhythm part, pause it and start it later on in the song. There options for adding extra pedal to control things but I found I got on OK without them. Basically a solid looper with a useful display that is, easy to read in a live situation. The trick to silently erase is to double tap and hold the second tap. Stops instantly and the erases a couple of seconds later – this isn't clear in the instructions.David M.
High value and quality! Maybe not for the touring professional who needs every bell and whistle, but for beginners or intermediates it's a really solid feature set and great quality at a price point that is just a hair over the price of some much more basic units. Spend the extra $20 and get a pedal you'll love! Loopers are super fun, this one is no exception. There is a learning curve but that's more on the player than the pedal. (If your timing/coordination are not on point, a looper, like any recording method, will really highlight that.) Would highly recommend to anyone interested in a looper for fun, creativity, practice, comping, improving over your own backing, even for pro use if you don't need the fanciest bells n' whistles.Steverino

Reviews:
This is a neat product, i wanted the bigger model for the 5 channels , but in the middle of lock down the 202 was all that was avaliable to purchase without having to wait, however… The 202 is a brilliant piece of kit , does exactly what it says on the tin and with the help of youtube tutorials i was making some interesting beats ! Reasonable price too. Im still going to get the bigger version, and simply link it to the 202 and have 7 channels. Well designed and simple to use, pmt have never failed to deliver in the 20 or so years ive been using them. My 1st choice for music products. Boss is a reliable brand . The 202 looper is ideal to make beats fast. Im particularly impressed with the " guitar to bass effect, which simply turns your guitar in to a bass guitar, but even more impressive that that, it turns your vocal into a bass guitar! Brilliant fun and extremely useful. Very happy customer 😁. Ps the sound quality is brilliant. Especially when using a DAW and playing vst instruments directly through the 202 looper. Hook up a midi keyboard and build a track in minuets using real instrument sounds. Impressive stuff from boss 👌🏼Mitchell T.

The Looper's use is enhanced by button lighting schemes which identify which 'Mode' the Looper is in – Record, Playback, Overdub, or any of the FX settings which are active. Each of the 2 recording Tracks can be silenced as needed, played as a One-Shot, played in Reverse, the overdub Replaced, Undone or Redone. Also, by switching through the 8 Memory Phases in each of 8 Banks, progression through a song is easily accomplished. If you're looking for a super dope party machine to make you the life of the party look no further than the RC-202!!! Big improvements on the RC-505 in my opinion on streamlining production and getting the beats rolling quickly! 4 input and 4 track effects is one more than the 505 and the ability to one shot samples, ambient record with overdubbing or replacing tracks turns it into almost a 2 track cassette recorder! A plethora of effects and filters makes song production a breeze! Order now if you want to transform your beatbox game and step up you ability to make music on the fly. Pair with a Roland Street and you have a killer busking setup! Peace!

I have rarely relied on a loop machine in my 33+ years of performing music. I've had a DigiTec JamMan for a long time but found it too difficult to co-ordinate short phrases into a piece. I used it more with sampling of ambient sound than musical phrases. I've only had the Boss RC-500 for a short time but already find it much easier to use. I haven't even experimented with the percussion aspects but I can see great possibilities. I'm a great fan of Boss and Roland. They make quality , well thought out, aids for musical expression. What a creative company they are, indeed!Ralph
Have not used it live yet. Still getting friendly with it. There are a lot of rhythm patterns to choose from but many of them are very similar. Some of the functions I would have thought would be accessible through MIDI are not, but there are ways to work around most of them. Overall it seems like a great unit for a moderate price. The sound quality is very good. One disappointment is that I had the impression you could download rhythm patterns to replace the ones you don't care to use – you can't download them as rhythms, only as backing tracks. Look for the reference manual (not the owners manual) and study it before you buy if you have specific expectations.Glenn K
I decided to buy a looper last year to use primarily for practice, and for easily capturing ideas and riffs. I settled on the Boss RC-1 and it performed great. The biggest limitation was only being able to capture one idea at a time. I started looking around for something with more memory locations and I found the RC-5 as an upgrade. I am blown away by the included drums and the device's ability to determine the tempo. As a tool for capturing multiple ideas and being able to back them up to a PC, this is perfect. I haven't tested the midi capability yet. I could easily see using this in an actual performance in the future. It's pedalboard-friendly size makes it very easy to carry around.Joe G

Reviews:
Ive used a good few lopper pedals before and this thing does it all with alot more style. The visual feed back Im getting form this looper is incredible it totally changes the looper pedal game. I noticed even with the stage fog on at fullblast I can see the screen very well. The color coding makes it easy to follow what Im doing at each moment. The screen is what allows the Aeros to combine paralel and sequential looping styles so well so its a huge plus. Using 6×6 mode is like having 6 loopers synced together all in one. Dont even get me started with the hands-free mixing, its a dream!BandGuy4ever
I've have a few different loopers but this unit is like a recording studio that can quickly and easily recreate tracks that are in perfect sync. I have the Beat Buddy (drum pedal) that works in lock step with the Aeros. Can't say enough about this unit and the sound quality is excellent.Ger

Reviews:
Very easy to use and built like a tank. I had to watch a few demo videos to learn how the controls worked and interacted but it didn't take but a few minutes. Playback quality is very good with tons of storage for created loops. My only issue is with what Boss calls "Drum Tracks". There's only 10 of them and their sound quality is piercing. You can load your own via the usb connection though. Also, it only stores wav files from external sources so converting songs you only have as mp3 etc. to wav is an extra step I could do without. I might just be nitpicking because otherwise it's a great looper with more features than most people will ever need. I'd highly recommend it to anyone.ethan1957
I bought this to compare to my ditto pedal. Its not nearly as simple to use, despite what people say. Okay, it might just be me, but the ditto is more intuitive to use. After you record the first loop, it automatically begins recording the overdub. With the ditto, it goes to pause when you complete a loop. So, yes, its a Boss pedal and built like a tank. But for me, its 50/50 with the ditto. You have to make your own decision about this one.jonaha650
Have been nothing but pleased with the Boss RC-1 loop pedal. I currently use it in conjunction with my Digitech RP1000 and it has really allowed me creative freedom while practicing. I bought this since the RP1000 only has a 20 second looping feature, while this one can go as long as I need. I like how you can easily layer riffs on top of one another, delete when you make mistakes, and stop altogether with just the stomp of the pedal. It's amazing. Nothing else to say. You will not be displeased.lmeach00

Reviews:
Very intuitive to use, with lots of options to fine tune your recordings. Even though this is designed to be a tabletop looper, it works well for the guitarist or keyboard player who would rather have the looper off the floor and controllable with their hands. Adding a foot switch still allows for control from your pedalboard. Highly recommended.GregB
These units are getting a bad rap for the plastic construction, and rightfully so. But there are lots of great effects and options for creating loop projects. I have yet to discover everything I can do with the 505. Still, BOSS could have put it in a better casing and with better sliders. You feel like you're going to break it. And the digital effects are quite handy but may not be up to a lot of people's standards. Overall quite good, but is it worth $500? Yes, but be prepared for the learning curve. A lot of us would have traded some of the bells and whistles to have something a little more robust and gig ready.MC Chai Zee
So several people on youtube that I watch have this looper and use it for live performances. It's known as looper for beat box or vocal artist. However I am a guitar player and wanted to give it a shot. I tried the beat box and vocal capabilities of the unit and they were great. My first try I created and nice little vocal piece. I left my kids and wife here it and they thought it was super catchy. I then tried it with the guitar. It worked great, it has several options for effect such as reverb, chorus, delay, flanger and many other you would expect from boss. This unit allows you to create great vocals also. First off, I didn't have the latest firmware update, and loops were going a bit wonky and astray. With latest firmware and most issues solved, I'm finding this an absolute joy, particularly with the fuller, less 'in the box' sound that looper tend to get when you pile lots of loops on top of each other- so much space and headroom. I came from the RC300, but was still a lot of work to get my head around even setting up as before, but worth it in the end. Particularly useful to the way I loop are the 4banks of 4 effects which I can now preset for each song, and scroll through with a foot pedal with so many fewer clicks than previously. Okay, slightly weird what floats the boat of a looper, I know… but, less clicks! Also loving that I can assign 3 of the 4 effects to my violin (INST in) and 1 to my MIC in. Didn't think I'd be bothered by the 3 extra loops, but now I've less effect clicking to do I'm finding that loops 4-6 do get used, and arrangements are getting more varied. It's also physically smaller, and saved me taking extra pedals – really important and so damn useful for me, when travelling. A fabulous piece of kit. PS: I'm also so enjoying the 6 outputs, too – it's solved a long-standing mic and inst out of the same output dilemma.
I really like it, the sound quality is great has a ton of options and features and many customization abilities. In the back of the unit you have a lot of different inputs and outputs which is great you can connect many of your instruments and pro sound system as an output.Anonymous
I've had an Rc505 for a year or so now and was excited to get my hands on this RC600. The floor setup is great, although you can't quite do everything with your feet. With a shoe off you can do most of the functions with a toe, but you still have to bend over to mess with it. The included drum loops in this are a massive upgrade from the RC505. Tons of character and room to play around with there – even settings for fills etc at the end of loops. I've only had this two days, so I'll update my review after some more time with it, but so far I feel like it sounds better, the extra instrument and mic inputs are a huge boost, and overall it's been pretty easy to use coming from the 505.Sterling
12. Radial Loopbone Loop Switcher
Product Details:
The radial loopbone pedal board allows the guitar player to insert two separate pedal effects chains and remove them when not in use. designed as a master control for the pedal board, the loopbone is compact, easy to use and adds tremendous control over the pedal board. there are no signal degrading op-amps or chips in the signal path, only 100% discreet components and radials highly acclaimed class-a circuit for natural tone and exceptional dynamics. the radial loopbone dual effects loop is a powerful effects loop controller for pedal boards that allows the guitar player to insert 2 separate pedal effects chains and remove them when not in use. this is particularly advantageous when using older effects pedals that tend to add noise and cause loading problems in the signal chain. the radial loopbone incorporates a superb post-effects variable-gain power booster that allows straight signal boosting or post loop-1 or loop-2 boost for soloing. to ensure that the natural tone of the instrument is maintained, the loopbone features radials unique drag control pickup load correction circuit that allows the guitarist to properly match the impedance load of any pedal board configuration with any guitar for optimum performance. furthermore, there are no signal degrading op-amps or chips in the signal path, only 100% discrete components and radials highly acclaimed class-a circuit for natural tone and exceptional dynamics. besides fx-loop switching, load matching, and signal boost, the loopbone brings even more to your pedal board: a separate "always-on" tuner-out circuit allows on-the-fly tuning without adding noise or load to your instrument signal and, perhaps the most innovative feature of all, slingshot. slingshot is radials unique remote switching system that allows the loopbone to simultaneously switch amplifier channels, other amp features, or even another slingshot-equipped device.

Many tones can be dialed in with this pedal, and the tube drives the tones very well regardless of the setting.smart_studio_finds
I was pleased with the Radial direct drive amp simulator. However I realised that my existing distortion pedal wasn't going to be enough to be amp free but still maintain decent distortion. So I thought I'd try the company's tonebone trimode. It solved the problem and gave me more besides. The price was half price, reconditioned. The unit includes a tube and because of this gives an authentic tube amp sound. I was struck by the power of the unit. To get the same effects from an amp you would really have to crank it. At the same time there is subtle variety here because you can have your searing leads on one channel, and an on the edge of breaking up sound on your rhythm channel. There are plenty of fine tuning functions on the unit. It takes some experimentation to get your two channels the way you want, but once set you are good to go. So you can dial in subtle distortion right through to full raunch. The distortion remains transparent, but meshes well with a sweet cream pedal I have. The unit itself easily creates tube screamer sounds if that's what you want. A solid unit,it certainly looks like its built to last. When I first played it, it would sometimes drop volume on the lead channel, but Radial do explain about this on their website, and its very easy to rectify- just putting a lead jack in and out of a send/return input a few times if you dont use it. The problem went away without my needing to do this. The only other issue is that the adapter is an unusual power specification, but the unit does come with its own adapter. Certainly recommend. Really enjoyable.dlh.dba.3so7znwlj

13. Pigtronix Infinity 2 Looper
Product Details:
Pigtronix infinity 2 is a stereo looping pedal with two independent loops and a streamlined user interface that has been designed to provide an intuitive musical workflow, right out of the box. the infinity 2 enables musicians to seamlessly switch between parts, even during initial recording or while overdubbing. this verse / chorus type of workflow is further expanded by the ability to delete the loop that is not currently playing—freeing up an open slot for a new loop to be created, without interrupting playback. nearly all actions taken by the infinity 2 occur at the loop boundary. this allows the musician to cue an overdub, switch between loops or stop precisely at the end of a loop, without having to worry about hitting the footswitch at precisely the correct time. simply tell the machine what to do and it will occur at the end of the current loop. this is the general rule of thumb for all commands, with a few exceptions such as instant stop and fade out, which take place immediately when activated. a small push-button switch, located above the left footswitch, allows the user to change the functionality of this footswitch to perform various stop, stutter and octave shift effects. a trs remote jack allows these special features to be triggered by an external switch. undo / redo functionality can also be assigned to the left footswitch, allowing the musician to remove previous overdubs and add them back as desired.

It is nice having access to two loopers, but you have to have experience in looping because this looper is unforgiving. If you'd like to use the undo function, then you have to forgo the duel looping function, which is the whole point of this looper. If you miss a loop in real time, you're hosed. If you can nail your loops this little guy works great, especially going back and forth between loops. It is lame that you can't record in the middle of loops, you have to wait until it gets back to the top. I would not recommend unless you are a loop OG and don't play it out. Any moisture and the thing is a brick. I have a nice paper weight nowLucas
Pigtronics has added a couple features that other loopers lacked! 1. Delete loop not playing 2. Overdub immediately after loop creation It's a great, compact looper that does it's job well and sounds pristine. BUT… the product description is a little off on a several points: 1. There is NO midi for sync 2. There is NO transfer of audio over usb 3. The USB port is for firmware updates only 4. There is NO expression pedal jack for volume control 5. The Remote jack is for a TRS switch for the two-switch pedal accessory 6. There is NO reverse function 7. The varispeed function is ONLY an octave 8. There is NO sync multi Please refer to the Pigtronics website for actual features.

Amazing bit of tech, super simple to use and loads of features, PMT we’re brilliant, couldn’t get to the store so the sent it out by post and it arrived within 24 hours which is great especially since I was buzzing to get on and play! I ordered a stand which was out of stock but the store upgraded my product and sent it out within a couple of days. Top job fellas thank you for the great service.paolo m.
An immense sounding, feature packed device. This looper will improve your workflow and creativity from day one. I have been using it with my synths, bass guitar and acoustic guitar to make a variety of different genres of music, from synth-pop to classical. I’m experimenting with vocals, something I have never tried before and even for someone with no vocal training at all you can use the fx on the MKII to add depth and presence to your voice. The creative possibilities are endless and exploring them is so much fun. I highly recommend the MKII for anyone interested in music production or live performing.Jonathan W.
This looper is great for making music right away. Plug in a guitar and a mic and you can be your own band. I also feel like it's pretty easy to learn. Things I don't like: flimsy volume faders, plasticity connections on the back and I feel like when you're live it's hard to control the volume of each loop. Also having trouble with the mic picking up everything I'm doing. All about I'm satisfied with my Looper.NICK

Reviews:
I utilize looper pedals a lot in band as a guitarist so when I heard this was coming out I was very excited for it. I purchased it a few days after it came out and went home to start experimenting with it. Right out of the box my looperboard had 7.3 hours of recording time on it. Headrush advertises over 9 hours of recording time. I did the firmware update and it changed nothing, still 7.3 hours of record time. That is still plenty of time, but at the price I paid for this thing I want the full 9+ hours as advertised. Another even bigger problem is that my unit will shutdown and restart itself in the middle of recording. There were numerous times where I lost everything I was working on because it shut down and restarted. I contacted Headrush and informed them of the issues. Their customer service was good and they want to replace my unit but I was concerned about their response to the memory issue. They stated that although they advertise 9+ hours of recording time, after all the drum tracks and effects are loaded into the unit you will get around 7 or so hours. Why would you advertise 9+ hours then? Maybe I just got a bad unit but I don't want to mess around with shipping this giant thing back. Perhaps I will give it another go in a year or so and see if issues have been worked out. In the meantime, I will be returning it to GC for a refund.Dom the destroyer
There's a lot to like about the Looperboard, and in a couple of years, after they've worked out the kinks and expanded the global settings significantly it'll be awesome. The hardware, touch screen, visualization options, basic usage, sound, all amazing. HOWEVER: things act inconsistently. For example, when you're in "sync" mode, the only mode I'd ever really use because it allows your loops to be different lengths but puts them together, sometimes stop means stop (on an individual track) and sometimes it doesn't. Most of the time, you push stop, and the loop plays all the way through, which is a nightmare on stage. There's no way to fix an error by bypassing it. Another example: after you have a whole song going, and you want to stop a track (for dynamic effect, say, or because it's "chorus-only," or it's for a solo you're done playing), when you can get it to stop, turning back on it comes back on in record mode, and there's no way to change that. Which means you have to quickly press the start button twice, which is very difficult to do and unnecessary. There are several examples of problems like this. The backing track feature requires .wav files and all of my recordings are .mp3s. The sync feature (to your computer) works but it's wonky–my mac keeps telling me to stop the disc before I eject it but there's no way to do that. Right now, I have to say this thing is all potential. I could take it to gigs and use it as a mixer, but I'm going to return it because it's a bit heavy for that. Maybe I'll buy it again someday when they fix all this stuff, but I advise anyone who's serious about live looping to wait.GladeJustGlade
This is a nice product. It is a little bit too big and heavy and a bit pricey but its a great looper and a great tool for practice. If this unit had the headrush gig board effects and amps it would be a must buy, but its so easy to use and offers easy tools to do it all from the board. You use the PC to synch files and then you can just use the board to loop, play with tracks and record instruments as well. It does require an effects unit or a amped up set up to get the real use out of it because the built in stuff is just not powerful enough. I use the headrush gigboard with it and you get everything with that setup.Route234

18. Stage Right By Monoprice Lp3 True Bypass Looper Guitar Effect Pedal With Unlimited Overdubs And 90 Minutes Of Recording Time
Product Details:
Looper pedals can be both a fun and powerful addition to your board. they are great for developing song ideas, creating a backing track for practicing solos, or helping you create interesting sections or effects for use on stage. the stage right lp3 looper delivers the same fun and functionality of similar higher-end units at a fraction of the cost. featuring three tracks for recording, the lp3 provides virtually unlimited overdubs and up to 30 minutes of recording time per track. its minimalist but intuitive design means you can create loops in seconds, without compromising any features or functionality. simply connect the pedal, step on it, and begin recording. press the pedal again to playback your recorded track and press it again during playback to create an overdub layer. you can delete previous layers (with an undo function) and can save all layers into a single track, giving you a powerful and easy to use loop recorder.
Reviews:
I'm a bassist so not huge into the whole pedal game– this little looper is wonderful to play around with. As some other reviews have said, you definitely lose a bit of tone going through it when you record and playback. The build quality is rock solid and feels great. I wouldn't gig with it due to the tone issues/ tinniness of the playback but for the price, it's a great practice tool to mess about with. I have been playing it through my Acoustic B100 amp with a MIM Mustang Bass with Split PJ pickups and the drop in sound quality vs going straight in is noticeable. Nevertheless, this will stay in play for bedroom jams for a great deal of time to come.Ryan
This looper is great for the price. I like how it has the three tracks to select from for pre-recorded looping. My biggest problem is that it doesn't seem to actually be "True Bypass." The level control still adjusts the clean volume even when not recording or playing back. I also feel that the recorded playback is always louder than my guitar input. I wish I didn't have to do a volume boost on my guitar or volume pedal just to match the playback volume. It results in more tap-dancing than I would prefer while playing and singing. I'll definitely use this for practice, but it probably won't be a permanent fixture on my live pedalboard.Cody
So far so good. A few strange things happening, but I think it was user error. It takes some getting used to, but not terribly complicated, just a little practice. This one had the most features in it's price range and sounds good. Would give it 5 stars, but haven't used it much. I would recommend it for anyone who wants to use a looper pedal, but don't want to spend a lot for their first one. You may find it the only one you need.JM

Reviews:
