I run out of polish and fret board lemoil, i mostly use String Fellows however thought i would try the Dunlop range and wow. The polish shines on first application, lasts about 2 weeks before you need to do it again. The Lemoil bottle has a on the bottle applicator to not under or over apply the oil to your fretboard and it works well. Cleans and preserves your fretboard. I recently purchased this to polish the frets on my guitar. Wow did this ever do the trick! Frets look like brand new practically. It works on so many areas of your guitar as well. I bought a used acoustic guitar for my son to learn on. I didn't realize exactly how much grime was on this guitar until I used this system. I wasn't happy with other methods of cleaning this guitar. It just didn't shine when I was done. I tried this and it looks brand new! The cloths were filthy when I was done. No wonder it didn't shine with other methods of cleaning. I bought this kit to clean up a demo model acoustic bass that I just bought. The finish had been slightly worn in several spots and the neck was very dirty. This kit easily did the job. After a couple hours of buffing and scrubbing, my bass seriously looks brand new. I did have to apply a couple coats of the wax, but the finish looks flawless now. I ordered GHS' Gorgomyte cloth, the Nomad F-One fretboard oil, and some new strngs, GHS Burnished Roundwound Nickel Rockers Medium (11-50) for my Strat. Like others, I avoid lemon oil. First, I cleaned the fingerboard with some squares cut out from the Gorgomyte cloth (per the instructions). Then I applied the Nomad oil on the entire fretboard. I let it sit a few minutes and the rosewood fretboard soaked it right up. I applied a second coat, only this time I rubbed some on the back of the neck, too. Gave it a few minutes to soak in and wiped off the excess. Lubed the saddles and nut, and put on the new strings. What a difference! It feels so much faster and sounds great! I recommend this procedure every string change.Johne1
I used it on both my rose and ebony fretboards with great results. It slicks on easily with no mess and adds a luster to the look of the wooden surfaces. As a professional for thirty years, I have reasonable experience in cleaning fingerboard, although it's probably been ten years. I watched the demonstration video and got right to it, replicating the video. It's not a complicated process: dab on, soak for a few seconds, rub off. I was pretty disappointed the gunk did not come off anywhere near as well as in the video. I tried soaking, rubbing harder, different cloth, etc. Both instruments (high-end acoustics) had a buildup that I eventually had to carefully scrape off with a tool. Once I got almost all gunk scraped off, I used the fluid again and it cleaned the last bit. It did soak into and condition the ebony, however, so that's a plus. As a collector of guitars and player of 40 years, I have not found a better cleaner/polish than Formula 65. When I get a used guitar I spray it then buff with a soft cloth. I repeat this process several times until the desired shine is obtained. Once this is completed, I only have to maintain the shine with a couple squirts every 6 months or so depending on use. The spray comes out in a fine mist, so you actually use very little. I have been using Formula 65 for about 10 years and and in this time my collection has gone from 8 to about 50 guitars. I haven't found anything better than Formula 65. To maximize The shine I also use The Carnauba polish in the green label.razor12345
Worked As Advertised It's great to purchase something that does what the company said it would. At first, I was surprised at how small the bottle was – but then, you don't really need that much. A couple squirts on a microfibre cloth, rub it in gently, and buff with the other side of the cloth, and I got a mirror finish. And then, after playing, just wiped with a dry cloth and the finish came back. Now I'll try their lemon oil fret and strings conditioner. I'm a fan.Mark L.

Overall: I bought this kit hoping it would give a long lasting high gloss polish. Very sad to say that in fact it will polish somewhat, it does not last . Within a few days my frets were back to the oxidized look and bends were no better than before I used it. Honestly you need to start with about a 1500 – 2000 grit and work up to at least a 8000 – 12,000 grit like a micro mesh paper. You need to actually put some very fine scratches in the fret and work up to the 12,000….. then polish with this stuff. Then it's a whole different feel and much more of a long lasting smooth shine. Very disappointed. I hope zZounds will start to carry the micro mesh pads In the near future.Ron
Figured I'd take a chance on this fret polish kit. Boy, is this a great an easy kit for anyone to use. First off I would recommend having another cloth to use with this as when you use the polish it may end up on the fretboard imo. The three different size fretboard guards work great for any guitar you may have and are sized right so you don't get a lot of that polish on the fretboard.You may need to wipe off the guard here and there from the polish tho. Working the polish in is very easy and within a couple of swipes back and forth you can notice a big difference as the shine Comes back to life and the dirt comes right off. Mind you I haven't polished my frets in I don't know how long but let's just say a long time (years). I've notice a difference in my strings lasting longer,bending is easier and smooth and just moving around chords on the fretboard feel much better. Also my guitar looks a lot better with shiny frets, makes the guitar look newer. Great product! I'm going to stay on top of my frets from now on. Give it a try!Jim
