Reviews:
The cool factor on this guitar is a solid 10. So many "quirky" things – the double pickguard, poly on the fingerboard, soviet-era rocket hardware…. This is my third Rick (two basses) and the workmanship on the frets/setup is second to none. But…it did take me three tries at the 330 to get an instrument that did not have unacceptable finish flaws. The first had "orange peel" along the edge of the body and headstock. I used to work for a major US guitar manufacturer, and I recognize that a right angle edge is difficult to finish, but for this price, a good finish is to be expected. #2 looked like whoever painted the inside of the f-hole black, was in a hurry and got paint on the top and then it was cleared over. Touch it up, THEN send it out. The third one had some finish bubbles on the headstock, but after three tries, sometimes better is the enemy of good and I kept it. When they get the finish applied properly – it is stunning. The Fireglow is much better than in pictures and draws you in and "moves".Reviewinbacker
I own a number of Fenders and Gibsons. Having always wanted a Rick and knowing its limitations, I bought one at the local GC. It is truly a beautiful guitar, set up was perfect out of the box for the pure nickel 10's I installed. No fret buzz whatsoever and really, really low action. Not a great neck for bending notes and that's why, in my opinion, this is a rhythm guitar. Tonewise, it's got one characteristic "Rick" tone, achieved with both pickups. Single pickup tones are ok but not noteworthy. In summary, I would not recommend this as your "only" electric, but certainly a worthy component of any musicvian's multi guitar collection. Get the Fireglow…it's the best colorBob the Strat Player
I own a Rickenbacker 330 in MapleGlo, which I purchased new in 2004. As I started to get into home studio recording, I went shopping for a Rickenbacker guitar, and literally bought the first one that I found, which, at the time, was probably the only one in town. I tweaked the set-up when I first got it, and it has only gotten better since, with almost zero maintenance, aside from string changes. It really is a great guitar, that sings wonderfully before even plugging it in, with a full chime, and smooth, blooming notes. I have long been a fan of Peter Buck from R.E.M., which was my original impetus for getting a Rickenbacker guitar, but once I got mine, it quickly worked its way into my own world of music and sound. I use D'Addario EXL115W strings on mine, with a wound G, which helps me play perfectly in tune, up and down the length of the fretboard. For jangle and chime, I tend to favor the middle pick-up position, with the 5th knob turned all the way to the neck pick-up, i.e., counter-clockwise, and the two tone knobs at the half-way point. The 330 does appear to have a slightly larger body than the 360, which I think lends itself to a fuller chime, although the 360 may rock a little better … I would say decide for yourself, if that is possible. In any case, I definitely and whole-heartedly recommend a Rickenbacker 330 in your favorite color. It is, in my estimation, the best rhythm guitar money can buy, made by a company which exhibits impeccable artistry and craftsmanship. Every Ric is exquisite, and the 330 is right up there with the very best of them.Steve

I use to own 330/12 I sold it foolishly, but Im glad I did. I love this one so much more, for starters its more authentic in look and feel, its modelled after the famous George Harrison Rick 12 string Its a stunning guitar in real life. I highly rate this guitar, 10/10 Not to mention the beautiful case it comes in Regards Andrew Armstrong (Australia)andrewma1959
Waited a life time to own this guitar. make sure you have it setuo to the way you play.Steve T.
Lefty Rics are few and far between, even more so for the twelves (no new ones have been produced for a number of years now). This one turned out to be very well cared for and in near mint condition for a twenty five year old guitar, and plays and sounds like the dream guitar I always believed it would be. Fellow lefties, keep the faith, keep an open mind and one day yours will turn up too.longnecklefty

Reviews:
I’ve owned a EF381SC-LH since the early 90s. My being left handed had a lot to do with my decision to purchase it, as up to that point it was the only 12 string I’d ever seen in person, never mind Getting to play one. I was able to tune it by ear and it plays as easily as an electric guitar, so buying it was a no brainer. But over the years I’ve come to appreciated it more for it’s acoustic and amplified tone. It sounds great plugged into my guitar amp, it doesn’t need to go through a PA. It takes the dry New England fall/winter less than 20% humidity while never protruding a fret or needing a truss rod adjustment. I do use two Dampits less than diligently. This 12 string Is one of the best values in the guitar universe, if you have ever wanted one this is the one to get.Stan
I use this guitar as a requinto. (Mexican Guitar) It's just beautiful. I'm at a loss of words with this one the beautiful Gloss Black Finish and the mahogany Takamine logo and Fret markers are just flawless. I would purchase this guitar time after time if i had the money. Oh, and not to mention the electronic pickup that comes factory with it. It just sounds beautiful, super rich, and just cannot compete with the G Series Pickup.IsaiRequinto
This guitar was sold as "blemished." I haven't found any blemishes on the guitar. When it arrived it still had the plastic scratch guard on the pickguard, and the strings were still stretching the way brand new strings do. I tried the lower range Takamine 12 string, the GD 30CE, and wasn't happy with the feel of the the neck, string height, or the over all sound of the guitar. So I ordered this one. I know this range of Takamine guitars well because I own an EF 341SC. So far, this guitar has delighted me at every turn. I've not yet played the guitar through a PA system, but plugged into a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface and recording it sounds great: well balanced and rich. The same if not better recording off of a live mic. The neck feels good, the string height is perfect.Ron

Reviews:
Overall: I have never purchased a guitar online but my have things changed. My Son ordered an Ibanez AS7312 as a gift for me. I unboxed it and it was stunning and I am particular. I looked high and low for a flaw but found none. I checked the neck relief, it was perfect, fret rocker, perfect – fret sprout, none, it was tuned 1/2 step down and the intonation was as close as you could with 6 saddles on a 12 string guitar. Then I plugged it in and I remembered why I missed my old 12 string so much. All I can say is great job Ibanez and great job zZounds.Stan
I have owned my Ibanez Artcore AS7312 for about a year now, and I will say it is one of the best guitars I own…..and I own many. I was looking for an electric 12 string without the price tag of a Rickenbacker. Even though I looked at this Ibanez many times, it took me a while to order it because I was trying to decide if on a semi hollow body design that the jangly, cutting thru sound that I was looking for would be there. When the guitar came in and I plugged it into my Fender Twin I could not have been happier. The sound continues to amaze me even after a year of hearing it. I don't think I realized at the time I ordered it that it had a solid maple block that the pickups were mounted into much less realize what a difference in the sound, and sustain that this would make. The solid center block, and the back and sides are all maple. The block gives the guitar bite and sustain, while the maple back and sides tends to project with a more brighter sound…….perfect for a great 12 string sound….at least to me anyway. I should have known Ibanez would know what they were doing, but I guess I more equate Ibanez with solid body guitars so it took me a while to order it. I equally enjoy just putting on 6 strings and playing it that way too. I have a '64 ES-335 but I actually like the sound to this guitar better probably because it sounds more like a solid body and that is mostly what I play. It was a little hard pressing down 12 strings until I read that a lot of players tune down a whole step and then capo back up to the 2nd fret. This made all this difference and was then easy to play. This guitar has a great action, great tone, and is pure elegance and eye candy on stage, lol If you're looking for a great 12 string electric at a decent price I would highly recommend this guitar.kareydunn1805
First of all the AR420 is a beautiful looking guitar with the abalone giving just a perfect amount of bling. The setup and action were great out of the box. The pickups are pretty good sounding alnicos and the tritone switching on each pickup give a wide variety of tones. The parallel sounds are a great alternative to the full humbucker and aren’t as thin as the split coils. The neck is very comfortable, fret ends are well finished and the hardware all seems fine. I find it very nice to play and easy to get the sounds I want. Design-wise the shape gives very good access to the upper frets but that also leads to the primary drawbacks, neither of which is an enormous issue for me but just annoying. Firstly the guitar is neck heavy so it does want to dive and secondly the pickup selector switch is directly above the neck pickup as it had to be brought forward towards the bridge due to the cutaway. That does make it susceptible to being knocked while playing with a resultant pickup selection change. Overall I am very happy with this guitar.Andrew C.

Reviews:
Overall, I'd say that I'm very happy with the guitar. It plays well, and it sounds great. I had to tweak it a bit, though. It had a respectable amount of bow in the neck when I received it. I've torqued most of it out, but I have the truss rod tightened as far as I dare to. The action is still a bit high at the 12th fret, but I'll take care of that when I change out the strings. It sounds very chimey and bright with no bottom end at all, hopefully a beefier set of strings will help with that. Skinny frets, I wish they were a bit more robust. String spacing (between pairs) isn't consistent between the nut and the bridge, I may notch the bridge a bit to eliminate that. Otherwise, it's a beautifully built guitar and a great value for the price. You won't be disappointed.
I had a cheap 12 string guitar for about almost two years. I had been playing corridos during this time. However, I had played guitar for several years. Mainly rock and other stuff. Well, after I got it, I could play all the solos I couldn't really play clean. I guess the other guitar really was bad, or this one is great. Funny thing, I had a really good player tell me to not buy this model but the more expensive one. Well, I'm glad I decided to go with this one. This guitar sounds great and it's extremely easy to play. The guitar stays in tune fairly well for a 12 string guitar. The action is low. I haven't tried it the electronics aside from the tuner which works fairly well compared to my snark. I do have a Taylor and Martin guitar, and the tone on this guitar is pretty clean.Juan
This Guitar plays like a dream, sounds great no matter if it is plugged in or not, stays in tune and looks great. This is a great price for a guitar of this quality, but thanks to another dealers daily deal and Guitar Center's price matching, it was even better. I was able to get this out of layaway for $240 less. I am very happy with this guitar. I have not played in a band for a while, but getting back into practice and plan to start back with some solo acoustic gigs. Having this awesome new guitar is surely an inspiration to help me want to practice more.Kip

Reviews:
Overall stoked with my fireglo Rickenbacker 330 purchase. With any guitar I buy, I'm most concerned about sound and feel, which are absolutely exceptional on this 330. It is legitimately the most comfortable guitar I've ever played and the sound is exactly what I was looking for from a Rick. It set up perfectly and I didn't even have to touch the truss rods, regardless of a pretty drastic climate change (traveling from IL to FL) and swapping the factory roundwound strings (which felt like 9's) to TI flatwound 11's. To me, that indicates a very stable neck. Aesthetics are not a top priority for me, but some minor quality control issues which may bother other buyers: small spots of clear-coat imperfections on fretboard edges and around the neck joint, as well as a somewhat sloppy black outline of the f-hole. Though not noticeable without close inspection, these are the reasons for the 4/5 star rating, as I know others may find them irritating on a new, $2000 guitar. At the end of the day though, I bought this 330 to play it, so I know I'll eventually be adding a few unintentional dings and scuffs of my own. Not to mention, the wood grain and fireglo burst are totally stunning. Aside from minor cosmetic/QC issues, everything else was perfect with my 330. 100% a keeper.Ingo H.
This is not to bash C & M Music, whom I purchased this guitar from. They have been nothing but professional. However, it is Rickenbacker who should be ashamed of themselves for their quality control regarding their fret work on their finished guitars. The neck on this guitar is practically unplayable due to the frets sticking out of the sides of the neck. If you do any sliding along the neck to play bar chords, or are thumbing a chord, you seriously run the risk of slicing yourself. This is unacceptable for a company that prides itself on "American" quality. I have bought brand new guitars made in Korea and China that have had better QC than this, and for a company that is so adamantly American, this is a disgrace! I own many Rickenbackers, from their vintage reissue guitars, modern basses, and 6 and 12 strings, and have never once had a neck this so shoddily prepared direct from the company. Let's hope this once great company will get their act together soon.thetasigma
The Rickenbacker 330 fireglow is one of my guitars I alway get back to. Got some other high end Gretsch and Gibson guitars but you can't find a better built semihollow body guitar at this price. It sustains like my Gibson customshop es345 but has more clarity when played acoustic. Once plugged in its almost like a good 335 meets a telecaster. So you get all the warm tones and the singlecoil snap in one guitar. Just be sure you like a lacquered fretboard with vintage frets. The bendings can be hard on such a guitar. For people who like the feel of an all maple vintage strat of tele it's good. I'm more used to medium jumbos on my guitars so I refretted the guitar myself and took of the lacquer. Now it plays smoother on the bendings than any of my other guitars!

Reviews:
I usually wait awhile if I am going to review something and after buying selling and trading over 50 guitars over a lifetime I am well over the "Newest Toy" syndrome but I absolutely love this guitar way more than I ever expected I will. I love everything about it so far, from the important stuff like tone and playability to the superficial stuff like it's cool vintage cream paint job. I have yet to restring the guitar and my only concern is durability. I have one other Danelectro guitar that I have owned for close to a year and have had no issues with. Other than that I have no experience with Danelectro guitars. I should note that there is nothing about either guitar that leads me to suspect poor quality. The 12 string came with a nice straight neck and immaculate finish. It was very playable right out of the box. I should also note that this is my first 12 string electric guitar. I am primarily an acoustic guy and have owned several 12 string acoustics over my lifetime. I understand the pressure those strings put on a guitar's neck which is why I wonder how well this will hold up in the future. Providing it does it feels like a steal at this price. Of all guitars I have owned I have never had one turn so many heads when I went out shopping for a case. It's a shame Danelectro won't make or commission cases for their guitars. If it matched the aesthetics of their instruments they would probably be a hit as well.Patrick
The best thing about this guitar is how nicely and easily it plays. It seems to sing out and chime from any note that you effortlessly put your finger on! You also cannot beat the play-ability of this neck with most any guitar at this price level! These are about the lowest priced guitars that you can buy, while still having a sentimental nostalgia of very high-profile guitarists enjoying them, too! Jimmy Page on Kashmir! Sleater-Kinney on the album cover of Dig Me Out! This is the 12-string version, but with the amazingly fast neck on these guitars, I can easily see why professionals would still choose them. The pick ups are decent and sound balanced between neck and bridge positions. This guitar is a joy to play, I look forward to picking up this guitar and playing every night! I got the Blood Red model, which feels much more solid than the b/w classic version that I got earlier. The b/w classic uses inch wide, white tape as trim, which gives me the impression of being less durable than the superior finish of the Blood Red version!Rev316
I spent over two years shopping for an electric 12-string guitar. I own many 6-string acoustic and electric guitars, plus a very high-end 12-string acoustic, but I've always wanted a high-end 12-string electric too. I played many of the best brands, but I just could not justify the cost of some of these 12-string electrics… yes, they played great, but the cost was insane, and I just didn't believe they were worth it. Danelectro recently upgraded their 12-sting electric guitar, and for the price, I could not resist any longer. I figured if it was no good, then no worries – since I spent such little money on it. However, when I received it today, I was COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY! I actually think that Danelectro is giving these guitars away for what I paid for it! Something almost doesn't make sense…. Anyway, I cannot put this thing down. It sounds great (dare I say as good, or perhaps better than the "R's" I tried out?). Not to put down "R", since I already own a 1990 360, but this Danelectro is a KEEPER! At a fraction of the cost, I have a really professional sounding and playing 12-string electric! I'm in my late 50's and have played for decades using many, many great guitars, but today is a day I'll never forget, when I unboxed this incredible guitar and played it right out of the box for hours of complete and total joy. I love it!Commish

Reviews:
I love this product. It came exactly how I wanted it to. The only thing that as missing that I wanted was the Takamine sticker.Cristian
I just received my EF381DX today, and all I can say is "WOW!" The detail and finish work is superb. The factory setup is very good as well. I will probably have it taken in for minor bridge adjustment, but nothing too serious. For comparison, I owned an EF381SC about 15 years ago and the factory setup and finish work was less than stellar and needed a little bit of adjustment for the action. Don't get me wrong, it sounded amazing, but for the price I paid at the time, it could've been a little better. This guitar sounds exactly like I remember how the SC sounded all those years ago, and is far superior in finish work. The binding, fretboard inlays, headstock inlay and Abalone purfling and rosette are perfectly done. The bone nut and bridge saddle are shaped cleanly and with precision (way better than my old SC), although I prefer either a B string compensated saddle or fully compensated saddle. The pearloid tuning machines and perfectly buffed gloss finish round out the amazing look of this guitar. Great work, Takamine!!!Geasley
Very pleased with this fine instrument… After a major setup it plays as good as any 12 string that I have ever played. The only thing that I would like to have different is a thinner and narrower neck… but every 12 string guitar maker is stuck at 1 7/8" at the nut… so I have to live with it… Not that it is a burden… just my personal preference… The sound is no less than awesome… and when amplified and when stereoized through my Line 6 X3 Live pedal the sound becomes heavenly… and fills the venue with the fullness and harmonics that a 12 string should deliver… I am a solo artist… a musicianary… and I need to be able to fill the venue with sound as I play and sing… and this fine instrument fills the requirement very nicely… much better than the other 12 strings that I tried and owned… and of course the unique pickup and preamp combination fills out the excellence of the sound. I have a Custom Legend Ovation and a Custom Elite Ovation… both black with abalone compliments… and this black beauty fits right in with my signature axes… Looks great adorning the stage… and sounds as good as it looks!!! Then there is Sweetwater… one awesome company in every respect!!! And sales engineer Ashton Boyd… what can I say??? The patience of Job with me… always kind and extremely helpful in every respect… making sure that I have what I need and what I want… We have been doing business for several years now and he has NEVER let me down… and always goes the extra mile to take care of me… and always has a smile in his voice… for this I am truly blessed.

Reviews:
I ordered an open box guitar at a discount. It was the Black one. When I opened the box I found the documentation and the batteries for the electronics loose in the box. It didn't come with the sound hole cover either. This guitar had been played as the pick marks below the sound hole were obvious. This guitar was not a 2nd but more like a 3rd. I called to return it and decided to order a brand new one in Natural. I would really like to see a pick guard for this instrument but the sound hole is oval so I would need to buy one and modify it to fit. I received the new one and it seems fine but the jury's out on the playability until I get it set-up by some pro techs. Then I'll follow up with another review.Stan the Man
I own several six string instruments, but this is the first 12 string to my collection. I am very happy with the choice. I did a lot of research, and played several different brands and I would always keep coming back to this one. What did it for me: Smooth and easy is to play. Many 12 strings may get a bit tiresome after a while, and depending on the brand the tension of the strings can be very punishing on the instrument AND your hands. I can play thing thing for hours with no problem, and it stays in tune surprisingly long, even when I get spirited with this thing. I use it mainly as a rhythm guitar, not much bending going on with this. The preamp, with the incorporated tuner is such a great convenient tool. Speaking of that, I've met some people that like to have the strings in this model doubled up for their music style — such as "norteño music" (instead of the traditional octave type), and neck & bridge seems impervious to the added tension. I don't plan to do that, but I am happy to know that I have that choice. I went with the black finish, and it is gorgeous. It is nice when you open the case (I paired it with the Yamaha APX Vinyl Hardshell Guitar Case — it fits perfectly) all your friends get that "wow" factor. It sounds amazing unplugged, just loud enough to be a pleasant compliment to not-amplified vocals. Once you plug her in, this thing is a monster! Amazing, crisp professional sound! The tones are controlled, there is no distortion when you need to get that "forte" emphasis to the song. I haven't had any feedback problems, even though it actually comes with a convenient sound-hole cover. And the answer is no, it will not diminish the sound quality if you use the cover, especially plugged in. For the price, you're definitely purchasing a guitar that is much, much better than more expensive models. Trust me, the pictures do not make her justice at all, this is a gorgeous professional level instrument.BeeZee
This guitar is probably all it was designed to be and also probably perfect for an electric player who just wants to throw a little 12 string into their set-list. It plays like an electric. It is well put together and has all the appeal of a much more expensive guitar. However, it is a thin body design. "Thin" being the key word, that's exactly what you get from the ambient sound of the guitar. It can be EQ'ed to sound thicker in an active environment, but that's not what I look for in an instrument. The tight neck feel also was not to my liking.SRP

This guitar has a warm bright tone easy action and is beautiful in design. This guitar is easily a favorite to me as it allows me to speak even when Im not sure what to say. Its design makes ecen an unseasoned guitarist sound like a pro. You definately will not regret purchasing this axe.tarquill61
I needed a low action 12 string acoustic guitar that wasn't the size of a battleship. Something I could practice on at home without annoying half the neighborhood. An 'acoustic' guitar that would give me stonkloads of volume plugged in but with absolutely zero feed back even when I'm standing right in front of the monitor. It also had to sound like an acoustic guitar at any volume level. Turns out that's exactly what I got. Easy…..now I need to get a case…turns out not so easy here in the UK. Why don't dealers buy in the correct case when they order the guitar? Or is this just an ESP thing? Anyway, when a guitar is this good it is not so easy to get annoyed.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
From the minute I unpacked this guitar, I cannot put it down. The neck feels just like my PRS SE 24 Custom. It is a bit wider to accommodate the 12 strings. The setup, from American Musical Supply was spot on. The Fishman electronics are great and match up to the Loudbox Artist Pro 120 w I have been playing it through. This guitar is designed to be plugged in. The thinness of the body, 2" makes it very comfortable to play, but, it doesn't have any appreciable sound projection capabilities. It is like strumming a 12 string solid body electric. Right after the new years. I will be picking up the TL-6 6 string and will retire my Ovation Elite TX from acoustic gigs. The workmanship and quality at this price cannot be beat. Buy it and enjoy it, you won't be sorry!

Reviews:
So far so great. This is my second Taylor ( 2008 914ce is my other) and I really love it. I have played twelve string acoustic and electric for decades but never had an American made acoustic. Compared to my other 12 strings, Epiphone and Yamaha, this feels like playing a six string. The action is great. It is not as loud as bigger acoustics but that is a good thing because it brings out all the strings and their nuance better. It sounds great with or without amplification.ktrip
This is an amazing, high quality instrument. The guitar is easy to play for a 12 string. It's resonant and responds to picking attack very well. Digging in a bit and using my picking hand for percussion on the top is very satisfying! The top is lively and there's lots of sustain. The set up seemed almost too good to be true. This is a precision built, beautiful 12 string guitar. I'm glad I took a chance and bought it. I think it's a great value for the money.Mandolin Player
The Taylor 352CE 12 string is an awesome guitar. Well made and easy to play with great sound. If your looking for a 12 string acoustic guitar, this is the one you want.1swenson

Reviews:
Ok. I've had Danelectro, Fender and 3 Rickenbacker 12 strings. I like the extra sizzle.jangle that a 12 string provides. But they usually play very poorly and stay in tune even worse. Even the vaunted Rickenbacker was a general pain to deal with. But a POG doesn't give you the full effect, so I bought this Gretsch 12 string. The guiatr arrived flawless and after tuning was perfect. The classic tones, experimental tones even ripping leads….all quite possible on the Gretsch. Being a kid of 70's I grew up on the Monkees and the Nesmith factor was a big thing for me. But I'm blown away at how well this thing plays and well voiced it is. Ricky-like treble plus the bluesy twang of a Gretsch. Middle setting is especially useful. I run this through massive amounts of distortion sometimes and tune to dropped D. The Gretsch (with a compressor) can handle it all. You can rip leads effortlessly on this thing. It's an extremely useful instrument.Uncle Frank
I'm usually a semi-snobby MIUSA guitar guy – with multiple Gibson, Fenders and Martins, but this Chinese Made Gretsch is a thing of absolute beauty. Gretsch QC is remarkable and I've had others in the past decade that have been equally wonderful. The finish and details are fantastic, even down to binding on the F Holes. The neck is ridiculously playable for a 12 string and I've had fun learning all the classic 12 strings songs, in addition to trying some new stuff. Tuning is easy, and it stays in tune really well. I'll be getting a professional setup done on this soon, but out of the box this guitar was exactly what I was looking to have to noodle around with, but be nice enough to hold a permanent spot. If you are looking to add an electric 12 String to your lineup, this is the one. They've been dipping in and out of stock, so keep an eye out or pre-order one. It took me about a month from when I "reserved".Darren
All of these guitar companies market their guitars with pictures of nice, dark, fretboards, that look like dark Rosewood, or even Ebony. They do that because they know that's what people want, but then what you often end up getting is an ugly, dull, light brown or grayish looking board.Pablo

I've looked at a number of 12-string guitars over the years, this is the one that captured my interest. A very playable and great sounding 12-string, sounds even better when played through an amp using the internal pickups.Reviewed by Absolute Music custo

Reviews:
This was a demo basically flawless.alex always great at Sweetwater. And went through 55 point inspection Logan and Cody did a excellent job. Thanks Sweetwater. You rock
Loved the look, price, sound, and feel of this guitar. Tried it out in the store and was ready to buy the floor model, but luckily I asked for a 9V battery to test the electronics at the counter. Oddly the battery port fits fine into the guitar when empty, but the moment you put a battery in it it will not stay shut and pops open rendering your electronics useless. Me and the sales rep at the front figured this was had to be a fluke and he ordered a new one to be delivered to my house. Four days later it arrived. I played it for about an hour out of the box without issue (set up was great, sounded great acoustic) and then I decied to check the electronics. Sure enough, the exact same issue occured when I tried to fit a 9V in the battery port. When a battery was actually in it, it would not stay shut. No tuner, no electronics. Ten minutes later I was back at my local GC. The tech inspected it an came to the same conclusion as I did after trying 5 different brand batteries to see if that made a difference- it's defective. He recommended I return it and try another product. In short it plays nice, sounds nice, and looks nice but if it happened on 2 guitars it has to be happening on more of them. I'm sure you could duck tape it or find a way to keep it closed but this should not be an issue on a $350+ guitar. 3 stars.Ryan
This is my second 12 string and I really like it. Sounds great action is outstanding and onboard tuner is great – I could not ask for more.Jim
16. Reverend Airwave 12 Midnight Black
Product Details:
It has some very clever design features that set it apart, from the shorter 24 3/4” scale length, to the semi-hollow korina body with solid spruce top and outstanding 9a5 pickups. want a closer look? our glasgow store holds what could be the largest reverend display on the planet. reverend airwave 12 string in midnight black reverend have produced an outstanding 12 string electric guitar in the airwave. the shorter 24-3/4" scale provides lower string tension making it far easier to play than regular 12 strings. a 1-3/4" nut provides proper spacing for the extra strings. it also intonates perfectly thanks to a bridge that is fully intonateable for all 12 strings independently. chords are always in tune and sound sweeter than you’d expect. the offset double cut semi-hollow body is made from korina with a solid spruce top. in terms of pickups, reverend’s updated 9a5 bridge pickup provides raw, classic tone, but is wound for slightly hotter and thicker tone than a vintage p90; perfect for the bridge position. the 9a5 neck pickup is slightly cleaner than a vintage p90, with clear, open tone. the 3-way switch with volume, tone and bass contour controls allows you to dial in a myriad of sounds all of which are extremely usable. fixed bridge, boneite nut & locking tuners 12 string guitars can be notoriously difficult to tune. the reverend airwave holds its tuning perfectly thanks to the combination of a self lubricating boneite nut and locking tuners. the standard 6 strings are strung through the body with the octave 6 strings strung through the back of the bridge plate. this gives the airwave great sustain. this is a 12 string guitar that you can play lead on if you wish, it's that easy to play and it sounds great!

Reviews:
I waited far too long to own a Taylor. But I am so glad I waited to buy the 362ceV 12 string. The sound I get is great. Whether I need that deep boom of a classic rock cover or the brightness needed to do justice to Jim Croce. The 362ceV delivers for me. I have had the guitar for about a month now and have played it at over a dozen gigs and I have had more compliments on the sound of my guitar then I have had in years. I love the light action, although with my fingers I could a tiny bit more string seperation. I think the action helps keep the sound clean and crisp regardless of how far up the fret board I am using a capo. Almost all of my guitars require me to rmove the strings to change the battery. With the amont of shows I do, I change the battery a lot! So the battery location in the body of the guitar was a pleasent surprise. I had to play with the tone and volume over several shows to find the sweet spot, but it was well worth the time. The guitar came with a top quality case, another positive as I do travel. I have to say that the 362ceV hits all the right hot bottons on my guitar needs list. I may actually buy another Taylor in the near future and put my other guitars onthe wall!
I know what you're thinking: every guitar I buy is the last one, when I'm telling my wife about it. At my age, it may actually be true this time, so I studied many possibilities before I invested. I could not be happier! The 816ce Builder's Edition is a beautiful guitar, to be sure, but its beauty is more than skin deep. The tone is superb, and the Grand Concert size coupled with the players port gives the guitar the extra punch I wanted. Should you buy this guitar? I can't say. But it is a fantastic guitar that is definitely worthy of consideration! For the record: I also have to include a very positive comment on Paul Allen and the rest of the Sweetwater team. Their care and attention to detail are far beyond the norm; they have a customer for life in me!
This is an exceptionally versatile guitar, I needed a workhorse for small venue solo gigs playing a wide variety of genres and this truly fits the bill. Extremely balanced range with just a hint of that Taylor sparkle that (IMO) is overwhelming on most Taylor models. What I didn't see coming is how this thing absolutely opens up in D Tunings. Best DADGAD sound I have ever heard in person, it's quite incredible. Skip the E version and just add an Anthem SL to this like I did, Taylor pickups are always so mediocre and the Anthem SL's cream color even matches the accents on this guitar.Ryan H

Big shout out to AMS. Bought this Saturday A.M. had in my hands Sunday Morning, next day. This is not my first order and definite won't be my last. Service is Fantastic. Arrived without blemish. Playability is far superior that the price would suggest. All it needed was a little tuning, strings were slightly flat, but thats to be expected. I'd put the tone and sound quality in the same ranking as my Gibson J45. You won't be sorry with this purchase.Chad M.
I’m a huge fan of 12-string guitars. I have two others, as well as a 12-string banjo (banjitar). My other instruments are usually kept at the performance venue where I work, and I wanted a guitar to keep at home and write with. Ordering online without playing first is always risky, but the Takamine GJ72-CE was ready to go almost right out of the box,” not to mention visually appealing. After tuning up, it was wonderful. The action is very nice, very good for faster playing, and the overall sound is well balanced. It’s quite a bright sound, but there is plenty of bass tone and good mid-range to match. The intonation is also exceptional. Chords and notes voiced in the upper frets are in tune across all strings. The electronics are very good, especially for the price. There is a great deal of control over the sound, and it sounds very natural. And oddly enough (to my ears, anyway), it sounds the best and most natural with “EQ Bypass” turned on. The only complaint I have is the sticker on the back of the headstock is difficult to remove and left some adhesive residue, but I don’t think it’s worth knocking off a star for something trivial like that. Overall, for the price, this is a fantastic guitar. It sounds great and looks great. Five stars.
The guitar is extremely well made, has a great tone (with and without amplifier) and looks like a piece of art. The quality of the guitar is outstanding, the finish is flawless and the action is good. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a high quality acoustic/electric guitar. Everything considered and I have looked a number of parlor or New Yorker style instruments, the price was incredible. I do not know how Takamine can make such a quality instrument for such a reasonable price.edwbe-1802

I am in love with this guitar! I always wanted an electric 12 string, and I'm delighted with this one. Andertons had it at the best price I was able to find anywhere, either in-store or online. It was perfectly set up and in perfect conditionReviewed by Andertons Music Co.
This guitar is an excellent instrument for all levels of guitarist but perhaps best for intermediates and above. Excellent twangy 12 string sound and well set up straight from the box ensuring ease of playing even up the neck. Stays in tune well. Edge tape may need re-glueing at some stage according to some reviews but all in all a great instrument at a very reasonable price. A major challenge to a much more expensive Rickenbacker at a fraction of the cost! If you want a great electric 12 string look no farther than the Danelectro!
I just got my aqua model and I’m very happy. First off, it was in tune so it was great to be able to play it right away and not go thru nightmare tuning! The fit and finish is excellent as is the sound. Both plugged and unplugged. It plays so easily that I found myself playing leads in all positions. Unlike most 12 strings of the past. Definitely well worth the $$$.Brian Limmer
