This guitar seems to be well built and has a nice deep sound. I’ve only had it for about 30 days, but I play it frequently for hours each time. I am excited everyday to play it during my breaks or when I am at home. The tuner is convenient, the controls are clear and the glossy finish is attractive. I took the guitar to GC for a truss rod adjustment which lowered the action. Frets and fingerboard are all up to par. Not much else to say. This is a good mid-level beginner’s guitar. Guitar is the third instrument that I am learning, after piano and drums. I look forward to playing this guitar during my breaks, at work, and when I come home. Most cordoba acoustic electric models are smaller than the standard 2 inch nut width. I teach music at a school who has the non-electric version, so it took a bit of time getting used to this. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase. I know that I can grow into this guitar, and if necessary I can “upgrade” if I become really good and dedicated. But in the meantime, I am content with enjoying the journey.Brian
I have had this guitar over 5 years. The Suarez high tension strings give it a clean sound. Warm bass string and higher treble strings. The guitar looks great and holds sound longer then some of the guitars I own in this price range. Plan to stick with Cordoba is I ever upgrade. Also enjoy the cutout and pickup. After you change your strings it does take 1-2 days before your strings tighten and settle. This is due to the high tension.Eloy
I purchased this guitar about 3 weeks ago and wanted to wait to give a review until after I'd played it for a while… turns out my first impressions were really accurate — this is an excellent guitar! The C4-CE is well-built, beautiful, and sounds warm and full. The frets are smooth, and overall this guitar seems better-constructed than some more expensive nylon-string models that were available at my local GC. This is my first nylon-string guitar, though I have played acoustics for nearly 20 years. I did a lot of research prior to purchasing the C4-CE, and the sound, quality, and playability are really exceptional for the cost. Hands down, Washburn gives the best bang for the buck in guitars. I hobby in repairing/building guitars and was very impressed with the quality of this guitar. You could pay a couple hundred dollars more and get something not as good. I have bought other Washburns and continue to be impressed with their products. One was a Washburn steel string Mahogany acoustic. I set it up with a new, bone nut and saddle. The $150 guitar now plays like a $1500 one. I gave it as a gift to my brother and still marvel when I pick it up. Anyway This C5CE clssical is another great product.aleface781
The guitar came promptly within a few days. I haven't found any flaws in this guitar. Action is nice and low with no fret buzz. Came with a nice long cord and truss rod tool. I registered the warranty which i have never had any problems with Wasburn customer service. The electronics amplify all strings evenly. The built in tuner works spot on. So I was looking to get the Ibanez GA35TCE or This Washburn classical guitar. Acoustically both guitars are nice except that the Ibanez was a bit flat from G-E nylon strings. It also had a buzz in the bridge that I did not like however the electrics of the Ibanez were flawless, clean and no hum or hiss. Now the Wshburn, the guitar is a beautiful guitar, nice finish and well made. Acoustically the tone is clearer and more balanced throughout all 6 strings compared to the Ibanez. The ibanez probaby could do with better quality strings to fix the flat sound issue. The Washburn has very good sustain and resonance such that at times other strings start resonating and dirtying the sound – especially when playing solo sections. This may be fixed with a new set of higher end strings which I will chnage after I use the ones that came with it or changing the bridge and nut to graphtech. Maybe I'll switch in the future. The electrics are ok. The electric pickup reporoduced the guitar sound pretty well except that there is a lot of Hiss with the BBand system. The pickup has treble, mid and bass EQ plus a presence knob where you can mold the tone as youplease. It also has a built in tuner that work well. So I sent back the Ibanez and kept the Washburn. The tonal character was much better. If the ibanez goes as a SDOTD sale dirt cheap I will pick it up just because of the cleaner pickup system.Afee

As soon as I picked up this guitar, it felt like it had been my guitar my whole life! The narrow neck and quality craftsmanship make it probably the most playable guitar I've ever gotten my hands on. The materials and look of the guitar are absolutely beautiful, and it sounds even more gorgeous. The pickup and microphone blend option is amazing, so you can play percussion or really capture rhythmic slaps and plucks of your fingerstyle. The cut away gives you that extra freedom near that wonderful area past the 12th fret, and arrived out of the box with perfect intonation across the entire fret board. Cut away doesn't effect the quality of the sound, and also just looks very good. The gig bag is as nice as it gets. I could not be more pleased with this purchase.Colin O
This guitar is really excellent, plenty loud and round sound from the tight-grained cedar top. The saddle and nut are high quality, and the craftsmanship across the rest of the instrument is great! The headstock especially is beautiful. I purchased a scratch and dent instrument, there were several marks in the finish in seemingly random spots, hard to tell exactly what caused them. There were also a few pin-sized bubbles in the finish (specifically near the edges on the body) that easily scratched off, leaving a hole directly to the wood itself. Very minor, but unsure of it was a factory flaw or just the finish being naturally delicate. Of course, it doesn't really affect the sound or playability of this wonderful instrument!Dan
I just received my Solea SA-C guitar in the mail and I could not be happier with how beautiful this instrument is! I am quite literally blown away by the beautiful wood grain of the cocobola back and sides! The fit and finish seems very good although there are a few small imperfections that you can find if you look close but overall this guitar is a gem. I've never owned a classical guitar before and ordered this one after doing some research. I did not want a Chinese made guitar and I wanted all solid wood. I first ordered a Cordoba Solista but it was back ordered so I cancelled and ordered this Solea and I'm happy I did because it's simply gorgeous and sounds exactly how I had imagined it would. I wanted a smaller acoustic electric thats a little better than a starter guitar, something I could enjoy as my skills grow, and keep for years; something I can play by the campfire on weekend trips and not worry about having to pamper it. I read many, many reviews and listened to experts on YouTube play and compare. I bought this Ibanez and have been really pleased. All the reviews were on target and there were no surprises. The factory strings arent terrific but deliver a decent sound; there is no manual or even a gig case that comes with the guitar, but I found the perfect sized used hard case on Letgo for $20 and a used starter amp as well. I am all set up for under $360. Dont spend good $ on new cases and accessories. There is a huge local market to tap into through Letgo and OfferUp. I didnt want to buy the guitar used since Im still a beginner and wanted to play right away and be able to return if not satisfied. I think I made a good choice. The sound is good, better than expected for a thin instrument on the non-amplified setting, and think it will only improve with usage and better strings, which is what many experts say. Amplified, the sound is crisp, clear and delivers as promised. Its a lovely guitar; the dark finish is deep and beautiful, not atall a factory look like the ubiquitous blonde Yamaha starter guitar of my youth. I am not crazy about the gold-look hardware, which I think cheapens the otherwise excellent quality of the build… but that can be upgraded to chrome if I still dislike it next year. (Ill make it a goal reward for myself when I reach my next skill level). I noticed, while shopping for this guitar, that there are a number of very similar models out there. Most were more expensive, with different woods and very subtle differences. But, what kept me coming back to the Ibanez was the sound plugged in. Nothing else, regardless of cost, sounded as realistic as this does. Light weight guitar that sounds pretty darn good with an amp. It boasts a rich beautiful color in the light with really nice detail. Pretty decent sound for a streamline guitar. Your not going to get a deep sound but this a great piece to travel and practice with. Having a built in tuner is awesome! Also has bass and treble controls. I hooked it up to my home stereo through the stereo's amp and it really sounded sweet. I would highly recommend this guitar for anyone at this great price!TRACY

I have been playing classical since age 12, I am now 72. I have found this instrument to be most comfortable and responsive to my needs. I still have my first guitar that was purchased by my parents in 1954. As I play for my own pleasure and an occasional recital, I have found much satisfaction with this product. My son gave it to me 2 years ago for a birthday present. This instrument "fits" me perfectly. The neck is of perfect dimension for my left hand and fingers. As I transitioned from my first guitar to this one, I found it to be so comfortable. As I do not use much, if any, amplification, it is nice for large rooms like church buildings or recitals. Overall: This was my first time ordering from zZounds. I wanted a cheap nylon string to play around the house and Ibanez makes decent low cost guitars. The guitar showed up and the box looked to be opened previously, the tape was cut. I immediate noticed the fretboard was extremely dry, to the point that the radius of the fretboard was concave, not flat, it had cracks, and all of the fret ends on low E side and high E side were sticking way out. I boxed it right back up and sent it back the next day. I'm no stranger to working on guitars but this was not worth the effort. Too bad, the guitar itself sounded decent but I highly suspect this guitar was stored in a poor environment hence why the fretboard was severely dried out and the radius of the board literally changed shape.Customer service etiquette was lacking as well but I got a refund. If you buy anything from this place, a bit of advice, use PayPal, as I did. The refund process seems to move faster if you report an issue via PayPal.
I have several classical guitars, and this was the least expensive. It has become my go-to guitar for gigging, including a few spots for TV. At home, this Ibanez is the one that was always out of the case on a stand, ready to pick up whenever. So it became comfortable, but then noticeably reliable. It stays in tune. The electronics sound better than the Fishman on another that I have, particularly the bass response. The tuners (particularly the low E) have withstood routine changes to drop D a few times while playing, without obvious sign of wear. When I first started gigging I used another great sounding guitar but then changed to the Ibanez to protect the other(s) from bumps, weather, people, and other hazards. If something terrible happened to my guitar collection, probably the first replacement might be this Ibanez.Tim - ATL

I've owned this Takamine TC135SC Classical 24-Fret Cutaway guitar for six months now and I decided to let patential buyers get an opinion on it. All I have to say about this guitar is GOOD things. I was surprized at the guitars weight at first for the Preamp is heavy duty carrying 4 AA batteries. Since that very first impression everytime I pick up this guitar the warth builds and I am amazed each time I hit an open position E maj chord how balanced and smooth yet bright and warm this guitar is. I can get lost playing for hours up and down the 24 frets and wouldnt think of trading in or ever upgrading this to something different. I play mostly Flamenco with a lot of attack. If you want to have a subtle Classical guitar I wouldnt suggest this for a lot of sound is sacrificed by the preamp and cutaway even though I feel that the over all tone and volume is fantastic. I have a Taylor 814CE V Class and am hard to please with the sound quality of acoustic guitars. The Taylor has been my standard. I wanted a nylon string acoustic with a nut width close to my Taylor steel string.The Takamine TC135SC seemed to fit the bill. The looks of the instrument are gorgeous. When I was buying there were very few reviews for this instrument on internet. I took a leap…. This guitar will not give you real classical sound unplugged. When you plug it in you can play with the sound settings depending on what you have available. I play classical guitar in an ensamble and can add some reverb and even a bit chorus. Being a classical musician I wanted depth and warmth, so you need a good EQ. I use just a bit of piezo and a lot of inside mic but right off the bet with such set up you have feedback issues with volume on the guitar all the way down. So there is the need for anti feedback feature. During live concert I had no choice but to bring the Low frequency down and it was very uncomfortable. The guitar is hot. Despite all of it I like the guitar and I suspect there is a lot of potential with this instrument. When you finally set the sound to your liking it's very rewarding! This combo of under the bridge Pic up and inside mic gives you a lot of room to explore the sound. I took the guitar to my Luther to try to eliminate some bazz especially on 4th string, he was able to somewhat do it via bridge and he said that the freeboard is done quite good and does not need adjustment. I like the playability as well. I have another Yamaha trans acoustic that is absolutely amazing and deep but wanted to expand the range of sound variations. My first guitar was a nylon-string classical guitar made in Spain. The neck was wide as expected, but that wasn't an issue for me when I was 11 years old. However, this guitar's neck is thinner and that's one of the reasons I went with this model. The action is also low right out of the box which I like. It is a joy to play. The sound when unplugged it's good, but the guitar really comes alive when using an amplifier. The built quality is great. And the case that comes with it is very, very good as well. If you want that nylon-string guitar sound with a friendly neck profile and low action, then this is a great choice.Carlos
Excellent instrument . It takes a while to get used again to a wide fingerboard but very good for finger style. I particularly liked the strap button near the heel and first class protective gigbag.. As soon as I picked up this guitar, it felt like it had been my guitar my whole life! The narrow neck and quality craftsmanship make it probably the most playable guitar I've ever gotten my hands on. The materials and look of the guitar are absolutely beautiful, and it sounds even more gorgeous. The pickup and microphone blend option is amazing, so you can play percussion or really capture rhythmic slaps and plucks of your fingerstyle. The cut away gives you that extra freedom near that wonderful area past the 12th fret, and arrived out of the box with perfect intonation across the entire fret board. Cut away doesn't effect the quality of the sound, and also just looks very good. The gig bag is as nice as it gets. I could not be more pleased with this purchase.Colin O
This guitar is really excellent, plenty loud and round sound from the tight-grained cedar top. The saddle and nut are high quality, and the craftsmanship across the rest of the instrument is great! The headstock especially is beautiful. I purchased a scratch and dent instrument, there were several marks in the finish in seemingly random spots, hard to tell exactly what caused them. There were also a few pin-sized bubbles in the finish (specifically near the edges on the body) that easily scratched off, leaving a hole directly to the wood itself. Very minor, but unsure of it was a factory flaw or just the finish being naturally delicate. Of course, it doesn't really affect the sound or playability of this wonderful instrument!Dan
I just received my Solea SA-C guitar in the mail and I could not be happier with how beautiful this instrument is! I am quite literally blown away by the beautiful wood grain of the cocobola back and sides! The fit and finish seems very good although there are a few small imperfections that you can find if you look close but overall this guitar is a gem. I've never owned a classical guitar before and ordered this one after doing some research. I did not want a Chinese made guitar and I wanted all solid wood. I first ordered a Cordoba Solista but it was back ordered so I cancelled and ordered this Solea and I'm happy I did because it's simply gorgeous and sounds exactly how I had imagined it would. It's pretty loud and has a nice mellow balanced tone I would say. It sounds sweet to put it simply!Jesse

The artist 65 is very responsive guitar with a warm and open tone. due to its narrower nut, radius fingerboard and 14th fret neck joint, this hybrid feels closer to a steel string than standard classical guitars. the sys550 designed by b-band is a pro level eq and pick up that reproduces the sound of the guitar very closely with great clarity. b-band use a patented under saddle electret film pick up which eliminates synthetic or processed sounds often heard with piezo or other styles of pickup. the result is a very true, acoustic sound. sys550 also has an accurate, backlit chromatic digital tuner. the term solid top of course refers to the soundboard of an electric acoustic guitar being made of solid wood, rather than being laminated. however, just because the top is solid, it does not necessarily mean the sound automatically benefits from this feature. the tone of the instrument only improves significantly when the whole guitar is built correctly to really release the energy a solid soundboard can generate. artist series is built to do exactly this. the solid a grade sitka spruce and cedar tops are hand selected from quarter-sawn wood. this ensures consistent quality and it's no secret better guitar is made from better wood. top is not only look great but it is stiff and strong and finely grained.

Appearance-wise this is a very beautiful guitar and because of this I decided to keep it despite its need for much fret-work and saddle-filing. As received, the truss-rod was completely slack, and this resulted in the neck being twisted counter-clockwise when viewed from the head-stock to the body. This raised all the base string frets so they buzzed all the way down the neck. It took awhile to figure that out; however that only partially fixed the buzzing. At least the neck is now straight. I then used a fret-rocker to check all frets and at least half were higher than the others. These had to be carefully and patiently filed down with a fret-file over several days (you gotta go slow or ruin the whole neck). Next I was able to file down the saddle to get a 2.75 mm action at the 12th fret. A bit more adjustment of the truss-rod and I have a very playable and buzz-free guitar, but only because I know how to do this work. To be fair, every guitar I've owned has needed some of this type of work (including my Taylor 714 CE bought in 2001). The Alvarez, however, was unplayable out of the box. Bottom-line: If you can't do luthier work on frets and action, you should pass on this guitar; if you can you will end up with a guitar better sounding than the comparable Cordoba costing hundreds more. I mentioned the double-holes in the bridge, which is a feature usually only found on high-end guitars. It's very important for low-action, because it maintains excellent break-over at the saddle, especially when you file it down. Break-over is the angle that the strings make after they have passed over the saddle on their way to the holes in the bridge. When you only have single holes in the bridge, the strings tend to form a shallow angle going towards the bridge. This reduces the downward pressure on the saddle and you lose tone. That, plus the looks made me decide to keep the Alvarez, despite the work it needNone
ok, when i first got it, the action was super high. i mean ridiculous…not playable,… i could have sent it back, taken it to a luthier or fixed it myself, which is what i chose to do. the saddle is white and is very tall. i would not recommend fooling with the bottom of the saddle, as that is where it contacts the pickup, i guess. i took a small file and i carved out a groove in the saddle, under each string, till i got my action super nice.. go slow and stop and retune each string often, to see if it is low enough. if not , repeat until the string is close to the frets,,just dont go too far too fast.. you obviously will have to make the groove deeper for the bass strings. make sure the groove is smooth on the sides and make sure to cut with a slight downward motion on the front edge of the saddle… i also had to tighten the truss rod a little..it works good.. i would describe my guitar as a 2 on a scale of 10, out of the box. after about an hour of work, i got it up to 8 OR 9 LEVEL. a luthier will charge at least 100 and would probably disapprove of my method, but mine works.. its a low price guitar so i took a chance….glad i did.. its a very good value now…good sound plugged in or acoustic….plays very nice….not tiring like a regular classical.. i hate the nylon strings that are on it but i dont know how to change them…they are the kind you tie behind the bridge. i am going to get some with a ball end.. i got mine at an open box bargain but for the full price, i would shop for a guitar that costs a little more but doesn't need any work to make it play great.. i find it so amusing that the Musicians Friend spell check does not recognize 'luthier' as a word..joe
Well, the guitar was new and received in original packaging. There was a small 1-inch crack on the back where something hit it. It is between one of the spars and the neck joint, it didn't affect the tone, and since it's a laminate rear section, I didn't bother returning. Outside of that, it sounds great. It came without needing any adjustments. One of the pluses is that it comes with a truss rod and they included an allen key for adjustment. I was almost going to get a Cordoba C5-CE because of that feature. It also has strap buttons on the bottom and the neck so you don't need to install any. The neck isn't as flat and wide as a regular classical guitar which I like. This probably sounds like a silly point but there are only fret markers at the 3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th frets. I am not an accomplished professional guitarist so I'm kind of lost without fret markets above the 12th fret. For classical music, it's not a biggie, but for jazz, I'm going to have to practice more when playing in the upper area of the fretboard. The built-in tuner is nice but it doesn't pick up the sound from the high E without plucking that string very hard. I plugged it into a guitar amp and it sounds great. Enough EQ and pickup adjustments to get a sound I was satisfied with. I like the battery compartment design. The 9-volt battery slides in and out easily. I didn't test the XLR output so I can't write anything about that. Finish all over is nice.Cheesie

The alvarez cadiz classical armrest acoustic-electric guitar evolved from an intense study of some of the worlds great spanish luthiers such as ramirez and torres. everything about them is carefully considered and purposefully chosen. the body shape is slightly taller, narrower, and more elegant than past alvarez classicals. the soundbox is more lightly built, with graduated tops, and each brace is custom cut and sanded with 4 varying widths in total. the bracing design gives a slight nod to jose ramirez iii's asymmetric architecture in the fact that the cadiz guitars have a treble bar. this helps to stiffen up the treble side of the top a little more, which helps give these guitars a very round, bell like treble response on the first three strings. alvarez keeps the bass side of the top light by using slightly thinner braces, which contribute to its very open, clear and strong bass response. unlike traditional classical guitars, the hybrid models do have a trussrod to allow for relief to be adjusted on the radiused fingerboards. cadiz models are also made with a spanish heel neck joint. ramirez and other great luthiers also influenced alvarez when it came to choosing their scale length. the cadiz scale length is longer than the standard 650mm (25.6") you will find on many classical guitars. at 662mm (26.06"), this scale length raises the tension a bit, which helps deliver more energy into the soundbox for better response and projection.

I can't quite believe they could build a guitar of this quality for the price, the build and finish are excellent, what you would expect on a guitar costing far more than this. In usage, the neck has the same width as a standard classical but the depth of a steel string, coupled with the thinner body and light weight it makes this guitar extremely comfortable to play. The sound /tonal quality is also excellent, though perhaps due to the thinner body it is "quite" compared to standard classical, this was easily resolved by fitting carbon strings. The only real criticism is there is no dot at the twelfth fret and with the longer neck it can take a bit of getting used to if you are a novice player Overall this is an exceptional guitar for the price, novice or professional, this guitar has something for everyone.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
Overall: You've read reviews by guys who have been playing 40 years and owned every imaginable alternative to the guitar in the ad. Yep, I'm that guy. And this Alvarez CC7CE blows away every other guitar in its category. The tone is balanced, vibrant and responsive, never tubby. Fit and finish flawless. And right out of the box it is the best factory set up on a nylon string I've seen (3mm at the 12th fret, .090 at the first fret, 10mm at the bridge). I did smooth and polish a couple of fret ends and degloss the neck. But Alvarez has done their research and the slightly longer 660mm scale, thinner top and Ramirez-style bracing sing with D'Addario hard tension strings. Bought this mainly as a travel guitar. My go too guitars are a Taylor 12en and a Córdoba orchestra CE nylons along with a selection of steel stringed instruments. Compared to all those guitars the Yamaha is a disappointment and it serves me right for buying a guitar on line I'd never played. The action is high, even for a nylon, and makes playing tiring. Try to lower the action and there is buzz from the D string. The sound, either through quality headphones or an acoustasonic amplifier is really "synthetic". It is difficult to really pick out the ring of individual strings when playing relatively fast. So it doesn't help much during practice – the sound is just too "blurred". The much talked about STR electronics are not very useful in improving the sound. I'm debating taking it back to guitar center and trading it in. But it has its uses when I need to be quiet like in a hotel while traveling. But that's all it will be used for, because I never enjoy the sound it makes compared to a real nylon acoustic. It's really expensive too, worth $300 at best.Graeme A
I've played classical guitar for 40 yrs and fingerstyle jazz/blues for 25 yrs. Most of the guitars in my collection are expensive collector's instruments: Taylors, Gibsons, and a handmade classical guitar by the Spanish Luthier Ricardo Sanchis, to name a few. While I don't play publicly much anymore, I have performed classical guitar in concert. I'm no pro, by any means, but a good Saturday still includes at least 4 hours of playing. As for the SLG200NW, I am ALWAYS amazed at how great this guitar sounds. I run it through a Fishman Aura (get one), and the sound is nothing short of SPECTACULAR. When run through a good pre-amp (or imaging), it sounds like a VERY expensive instrument. This guitar is super responsive to touch, producing both delicate nuance and big sound without a hint of string buzz or hiss. Most remarkable for me is how playable it is. The fingerboard, action, and frets gives me the feeling of "glide" that I do not get with any other guitar. The machine heads are also very responsive, and the guitar stays perfectly in tune. Clearly one of the most obvious benefits (aside from the above) is the ability to play silently without disturbing anyone nearby. This is ESPECIALLY helpful when practicing scales or repeating passages hundreds of times; we all know how irritating this is to others. Slip on headphones and get lost, undisturbed and without disturbing others. This aspect (even without great sound) would've been enough for me. For true classical purists, get the wide neck. The feel is exactly like a good classical guitar. The version with the smaller neck is just too cramped for classical playing. Again I suggest using it with a good pre-amp. It's worth it. Final note on Yamaha classical guitars: Many years ago, I was in a master class at the Royal Academy of Music in Madrid. I had Yamaha classical (my first guitar). EVERYONE else had a Ramirez. My teacher, a pupil of Segovia, heard my Yamaha and could NOT believe his ears!Indigo
Two design flaws: The strap buttons screw in and out to attach the top of the "body." They loosen over time as the strap moves making it easy for them to fall out and the guitar to fall on the floor. Also the upper part of the "body" is very "sharp" and digs into my forearm much more than any other guitar leaving a lot of red creases. Aside from these flaws the quality is good but I just don't enjoy playing it possibly due to the action or the lack of tone/authentic feel. I also dislike it when I see people perform with this guitar. People should play real guitars in performance IMO.Christopher

Been playing it for a couple of weeks. My feedback. 1. Bajaoo Service The delivery and packaging was to my expectations. 2. The guitar Ideal for someone who has relatively less longer fingers. I used to play on a yamaha c40 which has a std 52mm nut size, whereas this comes with a 46 mm one, so the stretching is comparatively smoother. 2. Retuning of strings is a must before each session, but after a few days the strings seem to retain their tone, which is the case with all guitars. 3. Due to the thin soundboard, the sound is not very projecting but good enough for soloing in a medium sized room. However, the tone for me is acceptable. 4. The preamp works well after connecting to my kustomsound amp if one really needs amplification. There is no on/off switch, so the battery may have to be removed if you are not using the amp. 5. It is artfully finished in terms of its looks. 6. Would be a good buy for someone playing the steel guitar which usually have a 43mm nutsize and wanting to move to a nylon guitar. Let'S just say I have bought a lot of guitars at every price range, but If you are either just starting to play or an accomplished guitarist. This instrument for the price is the BEST on the lot. Not pricy but loaded with quality sound either pluged in or just by itself the tone is Fantastic. Easy to hold as it is more of the popular thiner body style and it looks beautiful and well constructed. After looking over classical electric guitars for the price, this one came out on top as my choice. Also for a travel guitar it's unbeatable.

I have been playing classical since age 12, I am now 72. I have found this instrument to be most comfortable and responsive to my needs. I still have my first guitar that was purchased by my parents in 1954. As I play for my own pleasure and an occasional recital, I have found much satisfaction with this product. My son gave it to me 2 years ago for a birthday present. This instrument "fits" me perfectly. The neck is of perfect dimension for my left hand and fingers. As I transitioned from my first guitar to this one, I found it to be so comfortable. As I do not use much, if any, amplification, it is nice for large rooms like church buildings or recitals. Overall: This was my first time ordering from zZounds. I wanted a cheap nylon string to play around the house and Ibanez makes decent low cost guitars. The guitar showed up and the box looked to be opened previously, the tape was cut. I immediate noticed the fretboard was extremely dry, to the point that the radius of the fretboard was concave, not flat, it had cracks, and all of the fret ends on low E side and high E side were sticking way out. I boxed it right back up and sent it back the next day. I'm no stranger to working on guitars but this was not worth the effort. Too bad, the guitar itself sounded decent but I highly suspect this guitar was stored in a poor environment hence why the fretboard was severely dried out and the radius of the board literally changed shape.Customer service etiquette was lacking as well but I got a refund. If you buy anything from this place, a bit of advice, use PayPal, as I did. The refund process seems to move faster if you report an issue via PayPal.
I have several classical guitars, and this was the least expensive. It has become my go-to guitar for gigging, including a few spots for TV. At home, this Ibanez is the one that was always out of the case on a stand, ready to pick up whenever. So it became comfortable, but then noticeably reliable. It stays in tune. The electronics sound better than the Fishman on another that I have, particularly the bass response. The tuners (particularly the low E) have withstood routine changes to drop D a few times while playing, without obvious sign of wear. When I first started gigging I used another great sounding guitar but then changed to the Ibanez to protect the other(s) from bumps, weather, people, and other hazards. If something terrible happened to my guitar collection, probably the first replacement might be this Ibanez.Tim - ATL

It's hard to find a high quality affordable nylon guitar with a 48mm neck. I have both the Cordoba Orchestra CE Crossover and the Kremona Verea. I like the Cordoba CE a lot more. I'm surprised that there aren't more favorable reviews for the Cordoba compared to the Verea. I admit that I took the Cordoba to a luthier and had the action lowered. They told me high action was normal for nylon, but I convinced them to lower it, now it's really nice; low action and no buzz. Maybe if I did that to the Verea I would like it more, but it seems like the neck on the Cordoba is better. The Verea is fatter with a flat finger board, while the the Cordoba is thiner and maybe a slightly rounder finger board. The Verea looks a little better and the tuning pegs are nicer, but all that stuff is somewhat superficial. The bottom line is that I find myself playing the Cordoba all the time and when I pick up the Verea it just doesn't do it. To me, the Cordoba design and craftsmanship is superior but maybe that's why it cost a little more. That's ok because at the end of the day you want a guitar that you're going to keep forever, and not sell back to Guitar Center.CY
Overall: Before I say anything about the guitar I need to say something special about zZounds. 12 equal payments for this fabulous instrument, are you kidding me? As long as zZounds sells what I need I will always buy from zZounds. The guitar is great. The Orchestra model is worth the extra $. I also bought the Gator case which is vault like protection. What sold me was the feel of the neck was made for steel string and electric guitar players. If you've ever wondered why traditional classical guitar necks feel like a baseball bat there's a reason. Classical guitars from the past (1500, 1600, etc) had NO TRUST ROD so the neck had to be really big. Why haven't they changed that in the modern era? Tradition is a hard habit to change so thank God Cordoba used some common sense.
Have been searching for an affordable and highly playable A/E nylon string for years. Started with a Cordoba C5-CE that I liked a lot (partial to cedar tops), but could never get the intonation and action right. Then tried the top of the line Lucero, but that one was bad luck – sound guy pulled on a cord without looking, and it fell forward and easily busted the headstock, which scared me away from getting another one. Then went cheap-o and bought a Harley Benton and put in Fishman electronics, but it just sounded cheap onstage. Tried this one out, and it's been lights-out ever since…can't put it down.Bob

So I originally wanted to buy a Taylor T5 because they feel so good and sound so awesome. This guitar sounds just as good as a Taylor T5 and about the third of the price. And its appearance is just absolutely beautiful. I was all set to upgrade the strings and set it up to my own preferences but once I started playing it it was just perfect. This is my first classic style guitar. Its heavy, really heavy, I thought it would be light to pick up. Its really well made. The pick up are great and very bright. Shipping strings are good. No case or cover, box was well done, awesome even. Has a nubone nut, had to lube quite a bit for tuning. I feel like its a bit over priced, but that might just be me. Again, its solid, like you can smack someone with it and it won't care. I love the head stock. I got this because my hands are falling into ruin from diabetes. I'm trying really hard to find a falt for it, its just a beefy hard core classic style guitar. Volume is pretty low. If your getting into nylon strings i'd recommend it. So after about 40 years of playing music and traveling everywhere I had never actually owned and played a hybrid acoustic guitar. I wanted a Taylor T5, so sweet. $2000 was more than I wanted to give to add to my collection of 30 guitars already. My I caught this gorgeous ESP Telluride acoustic electric guitar. Playing it acoustically was nice but running it through an amp I was extremely impressed with the overall sound quality specially wearing a suit of quality headphones such as you would use in a recording session. I had about a third of the price of the T5 the quality is exceptional, not as good as a T5 before the price it is well worth it. The alvarez artist 65 series natural classical electric-acoustic guitar with cutaway uses traditional style construction for its entire classical guitar line incorporating a spanish heel neck joint and tapered fan bracing to deliver stability, balance and volume across all six strings. the artist 65 is very responsive guitar with a warm and open tone. the sys550 designed by b-band is a pro level eq and pick up that reproduces the sound of the guitar very closely with great clarity. b-band use a patented under saddle electret film pick up which eliminates synthetic or processed sounds often heard with piezo or other styles of pickup. the result is a very true, acoustic sound. sys550 also has an accurate, backlit chromatic digital tuner. the term solid top of course refers to the soundboard of an electric-acoustic guitar being made of solid wood, rather than being laminated. however, just because the top is solid, it does not necessarily mean the sound automatically benefits from this feature. the tone of the instrument only improves significantly when the whole guitar is built correctly to really release the energy a solid soundboard can generate. artist series is built to do exactly this. the solid 'a'grade sitka spruce and cedar tops are hand selected from quarter-sawn wood. this ensures consistent quality and it's no secret better guitar is made from better wood. top is not only look great but it is stiff and strong and finely grained.

I bought this guitar primarily to be used through an amplifier. In that regard, this guitar is practically useless. The guitar will hiss with white noise unless you slide the treble and midrange completely to 0. Even then, it is still noisy. I thought perhaps my guitar was just defective, so I sent it back for a replacement. The replacement guitar was more of the same, so I mailed it back for a refund. Its too bad the electronics are so bad on this instrument, as the guitar itself seems very nice and well-made. Because the guitar itself was nice enough, I gave the instrument 2 stars instead of one.JMet
I have been using a Taylor nylon string guitar (NS72CE) since it first came out. I also play an Alvarez Yairi 12 string and an Alvarez Denver Bell banjo. I love all these instruments, But I needed a less expensive backup guitar. I traveled miles to see an Alvarez AC65CE and was so happy to be able to test play it, I willingly paid more than Musicians Friend wants for one. No complaints. If you are a classical guitar player, and you want the flat, wide (52mm) fret board of a true classical, one that goes only twelve frets to the body, this is your guitar. But if you prefer a more narrow (48mm) fretboard with 14 frets to the body and a slight radius, then get the Alvarez AC65HCE instead. (My Taylor has these features.) Classical style playing is better done on the wider, flatter, shorter board for my style of playing. Also, the Alvarez has a real rosette. I like that. My only negative is that the on board tuner is slow to recover. You have to silence the guitar and wait for it to reset between adjustments. I prefer to use an external tuner with a mic, then tune by ear anyway.R Louis Oueinaught

Als Wiedereinsteiger wollte ich ein Instrument, dass vielseitig einsetzbar ist und sowohl auf der Bühne, wie auch zuhause Spaß macht. Nach einigen Vorversuchen kam ich bei der Ortega RCE 159MN an. Die Gitarre gibt es mit einer schmaleren als der üblichen 52 mm Sattelbreite. Und genau so gefällt sie mir. Die Verarbeitung ist meines Erachtens insgesamt sehr gut. Außer der etwas zu hohen Seitenlage konnte bisweilen noch kein Manko entdecken. Durchgehend gute Lackierung. Gut arbeitende Mechaniken. Das eingebaute Stimmgerät arbeitet sehr zuverlässig uns ist sehr geschmackvoll integriert. Sobald das Stimmgerät eingeschaltet wird, wird der Ausgang des Tonabnehmers stumm geschaltet. Lobenswert ist, dass ab Werk zwei Gurtpins vorhanden sind. Mithilfe des mitgelieferten Gurtes kann man also auch verstärkt und im Stehen direkt loslegen. Ebenso zum Lieferumfang gehört ein hochwertiges Gigbag. Klanglich gefällt mir die Gitarre richtig gut. Sie klingt in keiner Frequenz überbetont laut oder zu leise, eher sehr ausgewogen. Auch über den Tonabnehmer wird ein natürlicher, warmer Klang produziert. Die Lieferung durch MUSIC STORE erfolgte schnell und unkompliziert. Die Gitarre war sicher verpackt und mit einem Testzertifikat versehen.
At the start of lockdown I decided I wanted to start playing a classical guitar but found the neck on my son's student model challengingly chunky. This hybrid or slim neck is much easier to play. I was looking for a good beginner's guitar, and I wanted something with nylon strings. I did a pretty extensive search in order to find an instrument that was relatively inexpensive yet had some degree of quality. I read reviews on this particular model, and most seemed to be pleased. I was able to purchase one that, I'm guessing, had been returned, and I was very pleased with both the reduced price and the condition/quality of the guitar. The guitar itself has a very beautiful and mellow tone. It stays in tune, only requiring minor adjustments from time-to-time. I would not recommend this for young people or those adults with smaller hands, as the neck is somewhat wider than one might expect. All-in-all a very fine instrument for the price.Swewpa
This is the best beginner/student classical guitar there is bar none. It's full size and the intonation is spot on, the tuners (whilst basic) are fully functional and consistent. The bridge saddle has 3rd string compensation and is set to a low-ish action. Putting a new set of EJ45's opens up the sound considerably (don't play with the crappy strings that are on it). Great second or studio guitar for the experienced player. Stick it in a half decent case and you'll have a fantastic holiday guitar for around £150. The spruce soundboard already sounds good and will improve with age. Buy, play it – chuck it about. – it's very well made and robust. Finish is shiny and cleans with a wipe. Buy it today.Warwick M.
