Best Bass Guitar Headphones (Jan 2023 Update)

This version addresses the lack of structural integrity the engineers built into the previous two versions, the MDR-XB950N1 being one of them, that saw cracking in the earphones holding brackets in the front, back, left and right sides. They are significantly lighter in weight, but built with a more nonsense approach. I am used to the heavier, more metallic MDRs so these feel cheap to me, but thats subjective. Like previous versions these attach to the Sony app for more detailed interactions and customization. Once you past the wear in stage for the speakers they sound great and give a nice, clear rumbling bass. Not as over the top as past iterations but well enough. The touch sensor is not my cup of tea but works as expected. However, you cannot allow the right side to come in contact with clothing, long hair, sheets, etc . The new touch layout is very sensitve. No more laying in the covers with this one on. It beeps endlessly from erroneous contact. The NFC is no longer available here. The Bluetooth connectivity is automatic everytime, so no big issue there, even though I want it to be. And you get high resolution audio through LDAC. Nice! All in all i give them a 4.5 of 5. Catch them on sale if possible for more bang out of your buck.Sconian

I already own Sony's older versions of their noise cancelling over ear headphones WH-1000XM2 and in ear buds WF-1000XM3, and I have been asked by SONY to do a review of their latest headphones, Model Number WH-XB910N EXTRA BASS, which do not cost as much as their high end "Flagship" models. OPENING THE BOX: The packaging is made of cardboard and it is pleasing to note, that as part of Sony's aim to help save the planet and conserve resources there are no plastic inserts within the box.The headphones are simply and neatly enclosed in their own hard case(photo 1), with a very small USBC charging lead, an Audio Cable which is approx 4ft long and will enable you to attach the headphones directly to a non bluetooth device,and this is a great touch by Sony to ensure that we can still continue to use our older devices. There is no actual charger included, but the lead can be plugged into a standard USB charging plug and as it is the latest USBC connector, I used my Phone charger to charge them. The hard case is a nice dark grey with the SONY logo in the centre, although there is no Loop or Belt strap on the case which would have been useful to help carry them around. The headphones are neatly folded inside, but when taking them out of the case I would have expected the Left ear cup to be stored on the left hand side of the case, and the right one on the right and would have made it easier to put them on. Unfortunately they are actually stored the other way round, so you have to turn them around before you can use them, and it also makes it a bit more fiddly when trying to put them back in the case. HEADPHONES: The Headphones themselves feel Good Quality and appear to me like a dark graphite/black colour, with a white Sony Logo embossed on each of the side arms. They are well designed and engineered and the plastic has a lovely "Silky Finish" giving them a really Stylish and Sophisticated appearance,(photo 2). I find that some headphones, even on their smallest setting, are a little bit too big which can make them more uncomfortable to wear. These Headphones, on the other hand, fit me absolutely perfectly. The ear cups fit well over the ears, and the soft padding of the ear pads and on the headband make them very comfortable to wear and at approx 250 grams they are not too heavy and feel well balanced. They have the Letters L(in White) and R(in Red) printed on the inside of the arms to identify which ear cup is which, and the colours help identify them at a glance(Photo 3). In addition there is a small tactile dot(a bit like braille) on the left hand edge of ear cup so you can corectly orientate them even in the dark. The Power Button and Noise Cancelling button are both on the edge of the left ear cup and are quite flush, but unfortunately they are offset in relation to the tactile dot, it would have been much better if they had all been inline so it would have been easier to find the buttons quickly (photo 4). There are Swipe Controls via the RH Ear cup: by swiping your finger up or down, or backwards and forwards, this allows you to adjust volume levels, select next or previous tracks, and by double tapping the ear cup you can pause or resume what is playing or answer a telephone call. This might appear to be a little awkward at first but it becomes very intuitive, and it is certainly much easier than trying to fumble for buttons, or constantly reverting to your device. However, when moving about I did occasionally change the track instead of the volume, so maybe some tactile dots in the right places might make it a bit easier to use. SETTING UP: Sony want these headphones to be easy to use straight out of the box, and printed on the inside of the flip up lid, there are two simple steps for "Easy Setup":- 1. Download their Headphones Connect App, (NB: I have to emphasize that to get the best from these headphones and have access to all the features, you DO need to use the App). 2. Power on your headphones and connect via the App following the simple instructions. MAIN FEATURES: 1.Sound Quality: Obviously one of the most important features of any set of headphones is the sound quality, and whilst Sony want to put the emphasis on the EXTRA BASS to promote these headphones, and for some music eg. Rock Music it was great, on other tracks I personally found it too boomy. This can however be easily adjusted via the Equaliser Facility in the Headphone App, which has several different presets but more importantly there are two Custom Settings which can be adjusted and stored for your own personal sound preferences, and by using the graph of the presets as a guide, it is relatively easy to do. When using a Bluetooth connection, and depending upon the quality of the track you are listening to, there can be some loss in sound quality, so to counter this Sony have also developed "LDAC™ which is a new audio technology that allows you to enjoy high quality wireless audio via Bluetooth". Noise cancelling headphones tend to be pricey and the ones that aren't tend not to work. These seem to be ride that like of being affordable and justifiable for the average person to spend on headphones while also having pretty good noise cancelling. They aren't the best but they work better than I had expected. They eliminate about 80% of sound around you but do so in a way that's strange to me. For example I can be right next to the air conditioner and it will filter out that perfectly but then at the same time I can slightly hear the TV which is 8ish feet away and I can hear someone 3-4 feet away talking unless I have the content I'm listening to at about 40% total volume. That being said I'd definitely buy them again and have no regrets at all. They are actually the first pair I've purchased but I've used many over the years. Well I do have 1 regret actually… Right after I bought these they announced an updated model that is essentially replacing this and that new model has more microphones which I assume means even better noise cancelling. Oh before I forget… You have to use them wired but these work amazing as (virtual) Dolby Atmos & DTS:X 3d audio headphones on the Xbox and PC (Win10 & 11). Oddly they can't do 3d audio on the PlayStation but they can do regular stereo, also when wired. Overall sound quality is pretty good as well but I think most of the cost goes into the noise cancelling side of things. If you're listening on something without an equalizer they can sound a little flat and empty but these days most devices have some kind of EQ and that includes phones.d0x360

When I started using them, the bass seemed to alternate between the two sides rather than be in sync. The alternating bass problem got fixed after a few more minutes of using it, and I was satisfied. I really liked them when they worked okay, I'm assuming like how they're supposed to, for watching movies, the bass was really satisfying and made me feel like there was a movie theatre in my ears, until I laid on my side while in bed, it was then that the alternating bass came back, and if I got too comfortable there's another sound that's hard to describe, but I want to say kind of like a woodpecker pecking on wood, it's kind of easily noticeable. There is also the problem with the hissing when noise cancelling is on. Personally I would tolerate the hissing more if the noise cancelling worked better, I tested it by tapping on a table for a minute, and it was really audible. The only real complaints I have is the alternating bass problem, and the noise cancelling quality. For 300$ you'd expect a better experience, and this is coming from a skullcandy fan. I got these on sale but even still, if the price for these were lower I wouldn't be as unsatisfied as I am. Personally, even with 3 breaking on me, I had a much better experience with the Crushers than the Crusher ANC with the little bit I've used them.Elizer V.

Have some Momentum III’s that I thought were really nice. After buying the Crusher’s and burning them in for about 20 hours, they are decent and have lots to “ridiculous”bass noise depending where you adjust the slider. The problem is it is mostly just noise when compared to my Momentum III’s. The bass on the Senns when you tweek it a couple decibels sounds so much better. The mids and treble on the crushers is also decent but lacking the polish of the Senns. They are a little tight on larger heads so gonna send them back. The new Sony 4’s sound really good in the store so save my money for those and see how they do in a side by side. Price does reflect quality to a large extent in headphones it seems.steven

I’m terribly disappointed with these headphones 1. It’s states over the ear, but really the cups sit on your ears somewhat, unless you have tiny ears then they would probably be considered over the ear. 2. I find these headphones extremely tight on my head, which over extended periods of wearing starts to hurt my head 3. The sound quality is terrible, I have a wired pair of HD595 sennheisers that are amazing in sound and comfort, when I compare these wireless headphones to the sennheisers the one huge difference is distortion, there is so much bass in these headphones I find when I turn up the volume the distortion / sound quality is really really poor. I adjusted the bass boost all the way down to see if that would make an improvement and it was very minor. For the cost of these I was expecting a little better sound quality. I will say surprisingly they feel well built in your hand and not cheap , but that’s my only positive noteSteve

After trying the Samsung buds pro, I was very surprised how uncomfortable they were, and how there was almost no noise cancelling. I also tried the Bose 700 and the Bose QuietComfort earbuds, I was dissatisfied with the design and noise canceling level. Also their app was not working properly. After seeing that the Sony was on sale, and after reading great reviews, I bought them. I was instantly impressed. The app has many more features, and works perfectly. The noise canceling is great. One of the greatest features, is that without even having my Bluetooth turned on on my phone, I can place the back of the left ear piece against the back of my Samsung Galaxy phone, and through NFC, without the app even running, and the headphones powered off, the headphones power on, and turn on Bluetooth on my phone and connect. When you connect the included cable between the headphones and your device, for some reason the noise canceling is even better. I am going to check into this to see why this might be as it does not make sense. The app allows you to adjust the ambient sound so that you can go from complete noise canceling all the way to being able to hear cars and noises around you. Most of the options for the headphones can also be controlled by buttons or swiping on the earpieces. It's been decades since I've owned a Sony product, and this reminds me of the quality that I remember seeing in Sony products. Since I don't want to always have bluetooth on because I'm not sure of the health risks involved, my research showed that when you plug in the cable it turns off the Bluetooth in the headphones. I tested this out by trying to reconnect via Bluetooth while the cable is plugged in. The phone was unable to find the headphones, which supports what I read, namely that Bluetooth is turned off in the headphones when you plug in the cable. Luckily found these on sale and had rewards points making them a great deal with super quality. They are also comfortable, lightweight and seem to have great battery life and quick charging via USB C. The only potential problem that I've discovered is that when wearing them outside in the wind, I do hear some of the wind. However these were not mainly purchased for outdoor use.sgp617

I purchased these about a month ago. This is my first foray into wireless noise canceling headphones in about five years, I am impressed with the improvements. The sound quality is simply terrific, approximately as good as a set of wired headphones of similar cost. The wireless link is reliable, no interference or dropouts noted though in fairness I usually use these with my phone which is never more than a few feet away. I purchased these in part to replace a set of headphones that I use when I cut my grass. That is a very challenging environment for noise reduction as it contains wide band noise from very low frequencies up to almost the limit of human hearing. The noise is also at a fairly high decibel decibel level, something like 90+dba at 1 m. The headphones knocks the mower noise down to a really surprising level, and even with the noise reduction working that hard the audio still sounds great. I also very much appreciate the touch features of these headphones. My experience with non-phone/computer gesture sensing has not been good. However these sense tap and swipe gestures very reliably. The headphones come in a small zippered case and include accessories such as an airplane adapter and hardwired cable. They charge in three hours or less, usually much less, from USB-C. Sony also has an app available for iOS and android that provides various settings for noise reduction, equalizer, and setting the function of a dedicated button on the headphones. I can't speak to the iOS version but the android version works well, I've had absolutely no issues with it. Overall I think these are a great choice, and well worth the price.Mark

It would not be fair to claim one is outright better than the other – the better question is what do you prefer? It is too difficult to recommend either the QC45 or the Sony XM4s over the other. Since I am fortunate to own both – here are notes/thoughts from my own experience – Sound Quality: Sony have an impressive soundstage especially with bass-heavy music. Sonys seem to have a greater volume output and maintain a well rounded/uniform sound from low to maximum volume ranges. Sonys are well suited for all music and especially impressive with bass-heavy music. They have a warm sound and one can enjoy listening to music at volume for a longer period of time compared to the Bose. If I want to listen/feel like Im hearing something at a club, Ill go for the Sony. If I want to appreciate vocals or instruments in a song, Ill prefer the Bose. Bose have an impressive soundstage with music that emphasize vocals or live instruments – in my experience you can hear more detail and pick instruments apart from one another with the Bose. The potential downside with such clarity and emphasis on the highs may be that you experience fatigue as volume is increased towards the max with I can best describe in my non-audiophile lingo as sharp treble. Build Quality/Comfort: Materials are comparable. Bose and Sony use a combo of faux leather and plastic. Sonys have bulkier earcups but the exterior of their headphones feature more premium feeling matte textured plastic. Bose have a slimline feel/look by comparison but have a more simplistic plastic feel to the exterior of their cans. My nod on build quality go to Bose though; the Sonys have already started to creak a bit when I wear them with slight movements of the head. This slight creaky noise originate where the band connects to each earcup. While Sony might exhibit slightly more premium materials, the build construction and lack of any creaks/rattles or looseness of the Bose and the slinky feel of the latter (along with the faux leather/more compact protective case) make the QC45s the winner here. Both are equally comfortable – draw on comfort. Noise Cancellation Both are impressive. Imo, I prefer the ANC of the Sony in cases where consistent low frequency noise is apparent. In cases such as flying, the Sony drown out the lower freqs and almost cloak it with a somewhat perceptible yet satisfying hiss/white noise. Bose do a godd job too with the lower frequencies but their slight edge might be in fighting against higher freq noise such as in a coffee shop. Other Notes: Sony capacitive touch controls can be both convenient and fun but at times just as frustrating. I enjoy swiping forward and backward for songs in a playlist (Bose can only skip forward) but changing volume or pausing music is more clunky. I only want to skip one or two tracks at a time so a swipe is convenient, but changing the volume is easier with a several quick clicks instead of several swipes. The quicker the swipe can be hard for the capacitive controls. When I take the headphones off though, its nice that the Sony tech knows (80% of the time) to pause the music. EQ Control/App: Sony has a better EQ App offering more adjustability that suits your preferences. Bose have a preferable phone-call experience and ambient mode gives me greater awareness of how loud I am talking out loud when on a call. TLDR: If you have a QC35 or XM3, this is a worthy upgrade. Owners of previous Sony XM ANC headsets may notice a slight degarde in material quality but the upgrade in tech everywhere else is a fair trade. XM4s are as good as the newer QC45s and trade the uber-detailed and crisp sound sound with an impressive bass positive soundstage and warm, full and balanced sound profile. Sony wins with its warm sound, immersive soundstage and ANC. Consumers who value the foremost vocal and instrument detail at the expense of bass will want to check out the QC45 instead.Szluski

Normally, I never write reviews. Never. This is in fact my second one to date. What prompted me to write this was the fact that I had forgotten my phone in my bathroom on the third level of my house, which is on the side closest to the backyard, while the headphones were still connected. I made it almost 20 feet out the front door before it started stuttering from the distance. The battery life is very solid, I believe I got about 4 days of frequent use on a full charge (combined total usage of about 20-25 hours. Here’s how I would describe the audio: Three categories (bass, mids, highs) each with a possible score of 100. Skullcandy had 275 point available and put 100 into bass, 100 into mids, and 75 into highs. The bulk of the sound is in the lower half, but there’s only a small, but noticeable, lack in the highs. Build quality wise, just don’t throw it around or shove it in a bag. Get a case if you can. This was on sale for $50 which is an absolute steal. For retail price I would probably shell out an extra $30-40 for Sony.andrew

First of all, the sound is great for the price you pay for it. I have Airpods but the bass on those are nowhere near powerful as these headphones. However, the product does have its downsides. It squeaks a lot whenever you move the ear-cups or extend the headband. It makes you cringe and makes you think these headphones won't last very long. However, these headphones are extremely comfortable when wearing them. You can listen to music for hours upon hours while doing office work. Its noise isolation is fairly decent. It definitely muffles the sound around you and makes it to where you can't hear the people around you unless they are speaking very very loudly. Overall, it's a fairly decent product. It serves its purpose well. I would recommend getting a traveling case for them if you are like me and are constantly on the go.chrisolorzan-8

I got these as a replacement for my Skullcandy venue tiles that broke, Skullcandy discontinued the Venue line, which had absolutely phenomenal active noise cancellation. These headphones are better than some other ANC headphones, but not as good as the Venues were. The assistant voice is kind of annoying, and the ear pieces kind of squish my ears, but putting them on and turning them on gives me instant relief from sensory overload. I would definitely recommend these for other neurodivergent people. Follow for follow.jenni.s

Unfortunately, I had to exchange this for a far more expensive Sony WH1000XM5. The sound quality, features and aesthetic of the Sennheiser MOMENTUM 3 is outstanding, not to mention the best value for the price @ $250 when I bought it, compared to Sony and Bose. The noise cancelling literally took away loud construction noise from next door and other loud ambient noises. The quality is that of studio headphones, with no "enhancements" like chirpy Bose does with mid-range. The clarity from these headphones connected to my Sony Master Series TV enabled sounds that I had not heard, taking movie watching and music to another level. The channel separation is a great revelation – even the App tiles on Apple TV on the left and right side were separated between the cups! Also, even a seasoned listener of classical music will be pleased with the honesty of the fidelity, true to source as any headphones can be. This, for the brief while I owned it was The One Headphone to Rule Them All – my TV, Pixel 5a and Computer, it connects all without a hitch. It has superb features like auto pause and auto connect when Bluetooth is enabled. The build quality is superior – finished, tough German engineering. However, I could not wear it for over 30 minutes at a stretch; it clamped down hard on my ears, and began to feel uncomfortable in less than 20 minutes. It could be because of my glasses, but my ears started to hurt in 20 minutes. Any potential buyer should try this on for comfort first; I could not reduce the pressure and discomfort even after adjusting the earpieces for varying looseness. It is unfortunate that I had to return these quality, tough headphones for a lightweight, overpriced Sony. I still cannot take away a single star from this product, my discomfort while wearing these is not a universal experience. I have to thank BestBuy for outstanding customer service, both with the exchange of these headphones and for dealing with a large TV return and exchange process earlier. I wanted a headphone set that sounds fantastic for some music, but mainly watching movies via bluetooth on my tv in my bedroom at night. These are it. I don't work out with these. I don't need them when I work because I usually wear one earbud at work so I can hear people talking to me. These sound superb! I've tried the Sony XM5 and Momentum 4. XM5 sound is a bit muddy in the bass where as these have a more focused clear bass. The sound on the XM5 is more closed and vertical while the Momentums are widely spaced, like you're in a big room. Both Momentum 3 and 4 sound the same but I think the fit of the 3's ear cups being big does affect the perceived accoustics. The 3 has big ear cups that cover but doesn't touch my ears. The 4 ear cups though very plush, soft, and comfortable, are smaller in diameter so they sort of rest on part of my ears. Initially they feel good, but after 10 minutes, they start to feel warmer by the minute. This could be just me, because my ears are very sensitive to the feel of headphones and even earbuds. The feeling of the 4's ear cups resting on my ears are like having leather pillows pressed on my ears. This causes the sense that the sound is slightly less open than it does on the Momentum 3. The sound is truly amazing. People complain about the push buttons being small. I agree but you can get used to anything after using it for a while. For my use in watching movies, I don't press those buttons much. I use my tv remote to control the volume. These connect very fast to my Sony tv and my phone and tablet. The noise canceling works well and also the transparency function. No complaints. Battery is 17 hours but I use it 2-3 hours a day.JiggerMeKnickers

Sound is great, noise cancelling technology is the best I've ever used, very comfortable for me and I can wear them for hours no problem. While the case is not hard, it does have stiff boards which provide a very reasonable amount of protection in my opinion. If you hang them on a bag and aren't careful, then maybe you want a harder case. But there were a couple of features that influenced my choice of the Sennheisers over others and those features don't work reliably, hence 4/5 stars: 1. The Smart Pause was a key feature for me so that if I have to pause listening, all I have to do is take the headphone off and they will restart afterwards. Saves fiddling with mouse/buttons/waking phone etc. However, Smart Pause does not work properly. It triggers when you move your head to the side. For a very short while at the beginning I would actually jerk my head to restart after an inadvertent pause. That was ridiculous. I am really hoping this is fixed with a software or firmware update so I can re-enable it. 2. With multiple BT connections, pauses and/or switches are annoying. For example, if I am listening to music from my computer and there is a second BT connection to my phone, it's great if there is a pause in the music and I hear a phone notification. However, what is considered an audio 'event' is too broad (not sure whether the phone or the headphones decides). For example, if all I want to do is wake my phone and check an app, it will pause the music while entering password, presumably to ensure I hear whatever the phone is alerting me to. But if you multiply this over the course of the day it's quite annoying and I sometimes disconnect from the phone to avoid this. Also, I find that BT prioritization is off. Again, if I'm listening to music on my computer and my phone is connected, if I bring a previously paired tablet nearby it will connect, dropping the active computer audio which doesn't make sense to me. I have to disconnect the tablet and reconnect to the computer. Ultimately, this means more BT connection management than is ideal. In fairness, I find the same is true with my Klipsch earbuds, but they are not the same price or quality level. 3. The headphones don't seem to have an energy saver setting so that if you take them off but don't fold them up, they power off or go into standby mode. This means that if you haven't charged them recently, and you leave them on overnight you may need to recharge sooner than is convenient. This could probably be added to the app so you can turn it off or on as you wish.DaveM

Overall I like these headphones. The high end does leave something to be desired though. One weird thing I’ve noticed is that mine don’t last very long in cold conditions. A couple times while shoveling snow this winter they’ve turned off before I finished my short driveway. Once back inside and warm for a moment they turn on and operate as normal. It’d probably be a bigger deal to me if I didn’t have other options to use. What mostly drew me to these headphones were the hard buttons and ANC. The ANC works nearly as well as my wife’s AirPods Pro. And the hard buttons work fabulously in comparison to temperamental touch controls I’ve used on other over the ear headphones. The battery life on these things, even with ANC on, is incredible. If I’d have paid MSRP ($350ish?) for these, I probably would’ve been disappointed with the lacking upper audio frequencies and cold temperature performance. I really wanted to love them because it’s now an Apple product so connectivity is super cool and easy. I’m annoyed that I have to return them because the cup sizes are small. They press on my ears and I don’t have big ears. After about 2 hours my ears get sore, and while I appreciated the adequate pressure they have to stay on my head, it’s not good if you wear glasses. It smashes my glasses arms into my head and down on my ears. It’s just soreness after a mere couple of hours. I have a pair of gaming over ear headphones that feel comfortable, always, and never makes my ears hurt. I hear Sony makes comfortable headphones so I’m going to return these and try another brand. I had Solo’s before and thought the discomfort was because the cups were so small. The Studio 3 cups are bigger but not big enough to actually be OVER eat. I don’t think I need to comment on the sound quality or the ANC considering I can’t even keep them. It also doesn’t make sense that they don’t come with software to modify the equalizer settings. It’s just the one setting it comes as. Even for $150 on Black Friday I can’t justify that price for this quality. Build seems nice and it definitely looks pretty, it’s just not comfortable and not customizable.Ahsu42388

At its full price, I don't think it is worth it. There are other options such as Sony headphones that go for less and produce the same quality, if not better sometimes. However, when there is a big sale and its at 1/3 of its price it becomes way more attractive. The headphones are very comfortable but for a limited time (around 4 hours for me) before my ears start hurting a little bit. The best thing I can say about these headphones is the sound quality. The base, the mids, the treble all work together to make a really good sound. Its comfortable to wear on my head too. It does have some weight to it, but not heavy by any means. The packaging was also very nice and pleasant. Truly felt like I was opening some exclusive product. The battery life is pretty good as well. They say its around 22 hours, but I tend to get a little less. It lasts me a day and a half before I have to charge it. Charging it is also another amazing thing, I get a lot of charge within 30 minutes, and after maybe 2 hours its fully charged. So overall charging time is really good. Definitely worth it when its on sale.Olga

Since I don't want to always have bluetooth on because I'm not sure of the health risks involved, my research showed that when you plug in the cable it turns off the Bluetooth in the headphones. I tested this out by trying to reconnect via Bluetooth while the cable is plugged in. The phone was unable to find the headphones, which supports what I read, namely that Bluetooth is turned off in the headphones when you plug in the cable. Luckily found these on sale and had rewards points making them a great deal with super quality. They are also comfortable, lightweight and seem to have great battery life and quick charging via USB C. The only potential problem that I've discovered is that when wearing them outside in the wind, I do hear some of the wind. However these were not mainly purchased for outdoor use.sgp617

I purchased these about a month ago. This is my first foray into wireless noise canceling headphones in about five years, I am impressed with the improvements. The sound quality is simply terrific, approximately as good as a set of wired headphones of similar cost. The wireless link is reliable, no interference or dropouts noted though in fairness I usually use these with my phone which is never more than a few feet away. I purchased these in part to replace a set of headphones that I use when I cut my grass. That is a very challenging environment for noise reduction as it contains wide band noise from very low frequencies up to almost the limit of human hearing. The noise is also at a fairly high decibel decibel level, something like 90+dba at 1 m. The headphones knocks the mower noise down to a really surprising level, and even with the noise reduction working that hard the audio still sounds great. I also very much appreciate the touch features of these headphones. My experience with non-phone/computer gesture sensing has not been good. However these sense tap and swipe gestures very reliably. The headphones come in a small zippered case and include accessories such as an airplane adapter and hardwired cable. They charge in three hours or less, usually much less, from USB-C. Sony also has an app available for iOS and android that provides various settings for noise reduction, equalizer, and setting the function of a dedicated button on the headphones. I can't speak to the iOS version but the android version works well, I've had absolutely no issues with it. Overall I think these are a great choice, and well worth the price.Mark

It would not be fair to claim one is outright better than the other – the better question is what do you prefer? It is too difficult to recommend either the QC45 or the Sony XM4s over the other. Since I am fortunate to own both – here are notes/thoughts from my own experience – Sound Quality: Sony have an impressive soundstage especially with bass-heavy music. Sonys seem to have a greater volume output and maintain a well rounded/uniform sound from low to maximum volume ranges. Sonys are well suited for all music and especially impressive with bass-heavy music. They have a warm sound and one can enjoy listening to music at volume for a longer period of time compared to the Bose. If I want to listen/feel like Im hearing something at a club, Ill go for the Sony. If I want to appreciate vocals or instruments in a song, Ill prefer the Bose. Bose have an impressive soundstage with music that emphasize vocals or live instruments – in my experience you can hear more detail and pick instruments apart from one another with the Bose. The potential downside with such clarity and emphasis on the highs may be that you experience fatigue as volume is increased towards the max with I can best describe in my non-audiophile lingo as sharp treble. Build Quality/Comfort: Materials are comparable. Bose and Sony use a combo of faux leather and plastic. Sonys have bulkier earcups but the exterior of their headphones feature more premium feeling matte textured plastic. Bose have a slimline feel/look by comparison but have a more simplistic plastic feel to the exterior of their cans. My nod on build quality go to Bose though; the Sonys have already started to creak a bit when I wear them with slight movements of the head. This slight creaky noise originate where the band connects to each earcup. While Sony might exhibit slightly more premium materials, the build construction and lack of any creaks/rattles or looseness of the Bose and the slinky feel of the latter (along with the faux leather/more compact protective case) make the QC45s the winner here. Both are equally comfortable – draw on comfort. Noise Cancellation Both are impressive. Imo, I prefer the ANC of the Sony in cases where consistent low frequency noise is apparent. In cases such as flying, the Sony drown out the lower freqs and almost cloak it with a somewhat perceptible yet satisfying hiss/white noise. Bose do a godd job too with the lower frequencies but their slight edge might be in fighting against higher freq noise such as in a coffee shop. Other Notes: Sony capacitive touch controls can be both convenient and fun but at times just as frustrating. I enjoy swiping forward and backward for songs in a playlist (Bose can only skip forward) but changing volume or pausing music is more clunky. I only want to skip one or two tracks at a time so a swipe is convenient, but changing the volume is easier with a several quick clicks instead of several swipes. The quicker the swipe can be hard for the capacitive controls. When I take the headphones off though, its nice that the Sony tech knows (80% of the time) to pause the music. EQ Control/App: Sony has a better EQ App offering more adjustability that suits your preferences. Bose have a preferable phone-call experience and ambient mode gives me greater awareness of how loud I am talking out loud when on a call. TLDR: If you have a QC35 or XM3, this is a worthy upgrade. Owners of previous Sony XM ANC headsets may notice a slight degarde in material quality but the upgrade in tech everywhere else is a fair trade. XM4s are as good as the newer QC45s and trade the uber-detailed and crisp sound sound with an impressive bass positive soundstage and warm, full and balanced sound profile. Sony wins with its warm sound, immersive soundstage and ANC. Consumers who value the foremost vocal and instrument detail at the expense of bass will want to check out the QC45 instead.Szluski

I absolutely love these headphones which totally proves to me you get what you pay for. I got these as cyber Monday deal 2 years ago, I was happy to be able to get them for $100 off. Not only are these great for listening to music but these are also awesome for talking on the phone. The noise canceling technology also transfers to background noise that is removed when talking to others on the phone, so these are also perfect for any home office. The caller on the other end will not be able to hear any background noise on your end as well. These have the sound quality that one would expect from Bose. Bose is famous for its sounds quality, which still amazing for this headphone. Headphone comfort, noise cancellation and voice pick up is amazing. How come a 3 star then? The user experience and interaction is just bad. Let's talk about the good stuff first. I bought this mainly for home meeting. With kids at home, able to have great passive/active noise cancellation and voice pick up is essential. I tested this and have conference call in the airport. I basically don't need to mute myself and there's little to none background noise picked up. 2. Versatile look. I choose Bose 700 UC over the competitors because of its sounds quality and also versatile look so I can put it on outdoor as well. 3. Wired option. I like the idea able to have wired option if headphone ever run out of battery. Now the User Experience part … Diaster, the only word I can think of. 1. Bose app requirement. This means headphone has to sync with the phone, which I don't have a problem about but there is no button for device switch. Bose website indicate either manually switch device from my phone's app or pause sound from current device and play sound from the other device to switch. However both option is not user friendly at all. 2. Shortcut option is limited. I like the touch botton for headphone with gesture enable but none of the shortcut option is useful for me. Why do I need a button for Alexa if I can voice it? Able to manually switch device is more important for me but no such option available. 3. Button locations. Maybe it's just me, I always trigger either the noise cancellation or Alexa button when I take off my headphone. Maybe it's an industrial design thing, even though having these button at these location improves the look but I rather have something easy to use than I need to handle with care just for the look. 4. Doesn't auto turn stop when take off. I thought this is pretty basic features these days. Airpod has it, Bose Sportsfree earbuds has it .. I'm not sure why this headphone doesn't have it. I always need to manually shut it off. 5. Touch Sensor Instability. It just might work, might not work, not really fine tuned. Conclusion: Most of these issues are software related, I hope Bose is able to step up with fixes and improve the user experience aspect of things. It's a shame to have such a good sound, active noise cancellation + voice pick up technology but losing the market over poor UX design. I had read many, many reviews on these and from what I read I was concerned that the call quality would not be on par with what I needed. I wanted to avoid a headset with a mic that extended out enough to take the chance on these. 1.) I am not an audiophile and I didn't purchase these for getting the cleanest, most perfect sound. 2.) I spend all day on calls and needed something that was comfortable and allowed me a break from my usual AirPods. Having them in-ear in all day was becoming a pain. 3.) I paid $39 for these headphones in black which were selling for $149 in the other colors. They are not the newest model but that shouldn't deter anyone from buying these – for what I paid they're an awesome value; at full price my tune might change, given the sheer number of options and features available in the $149 – $249 range. For (cost) comparison I bought my son Spiderman novelty headphones for $25 So far they sound great when listening to music, and anything else. Good bass without sounding muddy or overly bass-y. Phone calls were pretty straight forward and without any drama. No complaints about being inaudible. For any one who is concerned: the call quality to me as the listener, is at least as good if not better than what I get with my gen 2 AirPods and that's all I needed them to accomplish. They were a little uncomfortable the first day or 2, likely due to never really using this style headphone and/or just having big 'ole ears but they are much better now. Now I am even able to use them without pain while wearing eyeglasses. Build quality is solid, battery life is longer than most people could reasonably anticipate needing. They are not ANC, but they isolate background noise fairly well. These come in at less than 1/2 the cost of a comparable model with ANC. It wasn't needed or worth the extra money for my use case which is generally limited to office use or watching videos in bed. The equalizer is pretty helpful for tuning the sound to one's needs. Im sure other reviewers have mentioned about the sound, the sound is acceptable to me even though my favourite is still my wired in-ear phones from a Japanese brand that I used to work for. But that came at a price that could have bought 3 sets of this so I don’t really expect the sound to be equivalent The phones fit me really well and they also fit my kindergartner – im 5’3” and she is 3’10”. That said, I find the normal sized headphones too large and cumbersome so I’m very glad to find something my size (real kids headphones don’t fit me either). Now I can enjoy TV when my husband is working from home in the same room and I can walk around the whole apartment still hearing what goes on with the programme. Even though this has no ANC and I can hear running water when I wash dishes, I don’t hear anything from further than 6ft away with these on. The feature that has some issues is the multipoint connection. When I connect to both the TV and the phone, the tv sound crackles and skips quite a bit. I got REALLY lucky and bought these on clearance from my local walmart for under $20 (box had a small hole and one side had to be taped shut, nothing else was wrong) and honestly? solid headphones. I use them for both HEAVY every day use (shopping, etc) and gaming (moving it to only every day use since they are now old and the side headphone pads are starting to wear out.) There is a default white noise that plays while they are on with no audio playing but it cuts off shortly after audio stops perfectly fine with me but i know some people may not like it. The turn on is EXTREMELY loud however, but if you can ignore that its pretty good. Sound is fairly crisp with decent enough bass and such for the full price. They dont cause me severe headaches. My only real complaint is that occasionally they will either only play audio in one ear (turn off/on fixes it), or cut audio entirely while im using it for pc (again, turning off/on fixes it, just a hassle to be in a match and have to stop, hide in a bush and hope nobody sees me while i disconnect them from my pc and fix it). Occasionally i do have to be careful which way my head tilts because now theyve stretched out to match my headshape and slide off if i learn my head back to far.Althrael

I did burn-in for 20 hours before using this headphones for listening music, hearing foreign language. Pros: balanced, flat and no color sound. Mid sound is very clear (best for acoustic, live music and listening foreign language), high is comfortable, low is just enough. I can use for several hours without ear fatigue or feeling uncomfortable. Cons: It's better for being used as the studio monitor haedphones than for listening music but I can use it for both usage.TMThanh

I love these headphones purchased 2 pair because I was doing a small 3 pc acoustic album and we were playing the songs in one take and I only had one set. The sound was phenomenal but the weight is the real winner even with the sound drivers being more than could have ever been needed the light weight allowed for sessions to go on much longer, as well as allowed the music to flow without the discomfort of traditional Audio Technica headphones. I have ath mx50 and akg k240, both using for hifi music, especially from 70, 80, 90's lps. I am very satisfied with both, but akg 240 is much more detailed on mids and vocals, and much more natural on low end bass sounds. Also it gives very satisfiying bright results on trebles.Hifirookie

Over ear headphones are something I've wanted for a while, after buying a pair of in ear headphones I quickly realised that due to issues with my ears and sinuses, in ear ones simply don't suit me long term and quickly become uncomfortable. When receiving my Bose headphones I was excited to get them out to try as it's always something I wanted due to the quality and reputation they hold. Unpacking the headphones the attention to detail to ensure they arrived to me in perfect condition was clear to see with foam packaging in and around them to ensure no damage occurs. The case that comes with the headphones is sturdy with useful pouches to store the extra cables that come with it for charging and connectivity. The headphones are nice and simple to connect using the Bose Music app, but my only downside about them when first receiving them war that there was no EQ to adjust sound settings. This thankfully was something that was added via a firmware update approx 2 weeks afterwards. The fit of the headphones is great, really comfortable and for someone with larger ears, perfectly goes over the top, whereas some I've tried before don't. They're easy to adjust to my head and don't create any discomfort. The positioning of the buttons on the side are easy to use and positioned easily to reach, without needing to see where they are. The noise cancelling on and off works well and creates an underside experience. I use them for various takes but one of the main uses is for gaming which provides Crystal clear audio and helps me pinpoint the location of sounds within game. Battery life so far has been great with me only having to charge it once after my initial charge and I use them a lot.Adam

I’ve been trying to enjoy these and for most genres they’re just fine. The truth is when I bought these I was looking for a pair of can headphones that would give me back my ideal metal listening experience, I prefer metal in a headphone of some sort bc I want to feel like it’s IN my brain lol. These will never give you that experience. Let’s face it, most metal heads are blasting their music and these headphones will never give you that feeling. I wish I’d returned them and gotten the sennheisers i really wanted. Most mainstream (available at your local Best Buy or retail store) are geared to mainstream music (sorry not sorry) or geared heavily toward a hip hop or rap bias. The equalizer for these is.. pretty lousy. I mean, don’t expect to customize much of anything, it is the most basic equalizer I’ve ever seen. Because these are noise canceling closed back cans you never get the *sensation* of high volume which leads to you turning them up as loud as they’ll go and it still doesn’t *seem* loud AT ALL while in actuality it is very loud and this can VERY easily lead to hearing damage bc you’re seeking out the sensation of loudness and never getting it. Some good things I can say is that these are very comfortable and light and fit my head very well, I’m a smol person and many just flop around on me. Also every other genre I’ve listened to sounds great, I’m a metal head but I’m also a bluegrass musician and bluegrass sounds wonderful, so do goth genres and podcasts. But the whole purpose for me was for metal. I want to hear ALL OF IT.: and again let’s face it, most other genres aren’t so complex that they require headphones but metal is best heard through a great pair of headphones. Oh, something else that really bugs me, for whatever reason these headphones don’t allow you to control iphone volume and headphones volume separately and this somehow has also impacted the volume on my Bluetooth speakers and when I get a text the Bluetooth speaker will suddenly reset to its normal volume. So all in all, if you’re a casual listener who needs to drown out outside noise while traveling or shopping they’re great, if you’re an audiophile or metal head, look elsewhere. I've had my K361-BT headphones for about a month now. The sound quality is good, fit is fairly good. There were numerous items that I'm not pleased with. The mic is either not working or the default output volume is too low. Even when I have the mic volume turn to maximum level on my PC or phone, the mic only registers 2% sound level. There are no adjustment features for the mic on the headphones that I've found. The touch / slide controls don't work well. The require heavy pressure and multiple attempts to adjust. They headphone do feel quite warm when worn for extended periods of 3 hours or more. Overall I'm quite disappointed with the product.Mike303

I read a lot of positive reviews about these headphones. Turns out they were pretty accurate. As far as I can tell, they produce a pretty flat response for all frequencies. The detail is good. They're very comfortable They're excellent for my main reason in getting them (I.e., making new music — hearing my stuff as close to how I made it as possible with no embellishment for any frequency range), as well as also being mostly the way I like headphones to be for general casual listening of just about any music. Probably the best headphones I've owned in quite a while. Also, they were delivered earlier than expected, and the price wasn't jacked up like they do with a lot of stuff. ZReviews on YouTube tested the AKG K371 More$ …. and the K361. Zeos raved about the K361 over the more expensive big brother. I conquer. These are clear and right there. The sound isn't too far away like you're listening to sound coming out of a Cup … over there a bit. High efficiency is a great plus. They sound great with my Laptop AND the Cambridge DAC MAGIC Plus as a headphone amp. Only downside is the fit doesn't quite cover my big ears, some rearranging in long sessions was needed. They come with a long and shorter cable that snaps into place on the phones. Thanks to Parts-EXPRESS for getting them here so fast too! The AKG K361 are a YES. Great price for a great product. The synthetic memory foam ear pads are deep enough to prevent rubbing against the outer ear, What’s more, the padding makes listening comfortable for hours at a time and is moderately comfortable with glasses. The charging cable that comes with the headphone is way too short, most of my chargers are located under my desk but if you have one close to your computer it does make it relatively easy. They have Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa and serve as a great option for anyone wanting a fair priced alternative. All of the controls reside on the lateral edge of the right ear cup. Unfortunately, the playback and volume controls are nearly impossible to find on the first try, Further down is the conjoined noise cancelling/Bluetooth pairing button, neither of which functions I needed. Battery life is quite good. The headphones provided 18.5 hours of playback with noise cancelling on. While this is 1.5 hours shy of JBL’s listed 20 hours of performance, the fact of the matter is that 18.5 hours is plenty. Playback controls are small and hardly differentiated from one another. If you’re wanting to get the best audio quality from the headphones, use the included 3.5mm cable. One of the more functional features is multipoint connectivity. This allows you to simultaneously connect to two devices and alternate between them. In order to do so, pause media on the primary device and play it on the secondary one. This bass-heavy pair of headphones is great for the average consumer. Where passive isolation falls short, active noise cancelling makes up for lessening low-frequency noise. Isolation is just ok, but when noise cancelling is activated, the outside world fades into the background. Active noise cancelling is turned on by default. The headphones may fold flat or upward to become more compact for transport. If you want great noise cancelling for less, yes. They might not be the clearest sounding headphones, but they are comfortable, portable, and effectively filter out external noise with ANC toggled on. Aside from that, Google Assistant and Alexa integration is a wonderful convenience: having texts read aloud and being able to immediately reply without touching my phone is a joy. These are great overall headphones. They’re lightweight, comfortable, and have great sound quality. I’m definitely satisfied with these. First, in the area of comfort, it’s important to note that these are on-the-ear headphones, not over-the-ear headphones. If that’s an issue for you please just make sure you are aware. That being said, they are quite comfortable in my experience using them. They feel lightweight and stay secure without applying too much pressure on my ears. So wearing for a period of time won’t be bothersome. Much of this is based on personal preference though. And just as important as comfort is sound quality. The sound quality is great. You can hear highs and lows well, they have great bass, plenty of volume, and the clarity is excellent. These are great for music, podcasts, or whatever you want to listen to. The noise cancelling works well in the situations I’ve tried it in, such as with a space heater running next to me and in a busy room with an active family around me. I’m not traveling much these days, so there’s no way for me to try them in a plane or any really noisy environments like that. I expect they would work well though and give the noise cancelling you would need to comfortably listen to music or just to drown out the annoyance of plane noise. The connection was easy once I figured out what I was doing. The instructions advertised an automatic connection, but that didn’t pop up until after I had manually connected. Then it tied the headphones to my Google account which is supposed to help in the future. I also tried connecting to the JBL Headphones app to figure out what that would add to the experience, but that part didn’t work for some reason. It’s not necessary really, as the bluetooth connection on it’s own is easy enough and gets the job done well. The connection is strong, it didn’t drop off and it stayed connected as I walked away from my phone and sound quality stayed great. The build quality of these headphones is great. They’re amazingly sturdy despite how lightweight they are. There is nothing cheap about these things at all. I wouldn’t want to go throwing them in the bottom of a backpack or gym back without a case, but if you don’t mistreat them they should last for years. So in conclusion, the sound quality is great, the headphones are lightweight, and they are sturdy as anything. I highly recommend these headphones.J123j

Quick summary: best earphones I have ever owned. Bar none. Period. In detail: I own (or have owned) more than 10 over-ears over the past 7 years. I use my over-ears for long periods while at work, so comfort is paramount. These are THE most comfortable I have had. I wear glasses and have been in front of my computer for 4-6 hours at a stretch. No problem with these. The sound profile is to my liking. It is not as bass forward as some would like (and yet not as neutral as some others). Suits multi-genre listening. I invariably use it wired, so cannot comment too much on battery life. So if wired is an option for you, you can consider the Amiron Home – the Home can also be used with the Beyer Impacto. Impacto will not work with the wireless. It sure is expensive, but for comfort and near neutral profile, i am yet to find anything in the sub-INR60k this good. In fact I find it almost as good as some of my more expensive ones, since comfort is mindblowing.Gnashman

My friend bought me this for Christmas and earlier I was so happy that he did. But these headphones are actually garbage. When I first started using them, whenever there wasn't audio playing it made a high-pitched noise. I tried to get used to it, but this noise only got louder and worse. I then tried to use it for my PC and it kept disconnecting and making weird sounds whenever I changed the volume. When the headphones are connected, disconnected, or ready to pair, it says it in a robot voice from the outside of the headphones. Personally, this is very annoying and the voice is way too loud. The audio is also delayed sometimes. To conclude, these headphones are the first and last product I have gotten from JLab and I do not recommend these to anyone.Enderiac

The Lab Studio Pro does provide a good quality sound for the price. It has the virtue of NOT being a noise-cancelling headset – which means you can listen to music but still hear when someone in the room is trying to get your attention. Unfortunately, the deal-breaker for me is that the microphone quality is terrible, resulting in a muffled sound as though the speaker's mouth is covered with a towel. That means this headset is absolutely not an option for someone who needs to attend web conferences. In addition, the bluetooth pairing is much more awkward than most other wireless sets I've used. It never pairs automatically, and when I'm done using it for the day, the pairing is lost but can't be re-established until I go into System Preferences and tell the computer to forget this device. Purchased this model several months ago to replace prior JLab headset that worked great for couple years but eventually fell apart, mechanically. Hoping for improved build quality, these have been an accelerating disappointment for other reasons. Initial experience: When used as a PC headset, others have complained of difficulty hearing me unless speaking annoyingly loud – not a deal breaker as this was not its primary usage. Current experience: What began as occasional (1x/mo) functionality issues (unable hear, control functions – resolved by disconnection/re-pairing device), recently became a regular issue (1-2x/wk). And now unable to resolve at all after hours of repeated disconnection/re-pairing, restarting headphones, restarting PC, etc. Aspects of issue similar to another review titled "Poor Driver support". I’m still new to the world of high quality headphones and mixing, but I’m very impressed with these. I wanted a neutral pair of headphones as an additional mixing reference. I started with the BD 990 pro, but was unimpressed by the scooped mids and elevated treble. These may work ok for electronic music, but for basic rock, indie etc, they were far too coloured and useless as a reference. I didn’t even find them enjoyable to listen to (I own the closed BD 770’s, and much prefer their sound) The HD600 are so clear… I can hear things in tracks I have previously not been able to. A long time ago I had HD 250 Linear headphones, which I remember liking better. You can hear the bass frequencies fine with these, but I like them with more punch. There isn't a lot of isolation. I could still hear knocking at the door in the same room with the volume on medium. I'm pleased with the sound detail and the overall sound quality. I'd agree with any of the positive comments I've read in reviews regarding it. I know I have a good audiophile product. I say they are not comfortable because after listening to about four songs, I feel them squeezing my (thin) head too tightly. I haven't noticed a way to adjust it for that.noctiphile

Love these open back headphones. I find they are not too bassy and give you plenty of detail on the high end – great for hearing instruments you wouldn't normally catch on conventional headphones. Being open backed these are best used in a quiet environment but once you are listening you'll hear details you've never heard before in songs you've played a million times. The packaging is simple and gives you only what you need, however given these headphones are pretty powerful you will want to pick up a DAC to amplify the sound (Fiio are a good brand to take a look at) and maybe a balanced cable to make the most of the sound. The HD600s are a great entry point to audiophile products at an affordable price and will stay good for as long as you look after them! The DT 177X Go is a confusing headphone. I also have the DT 1770 Pro and while I understand the targeting and use cases of the Pro model, the Go is a bit muddled for me. It's a beautifully built headphone and the 4 pin mini XLR is a nice touch, allowing for balanced connections. But here is one of its many contradictions. Being an easy to drive headphone, the balanced option is largely irrelevant. The included cable is not balanced and the argument of it being there for convenience is flawed at best. The convenience is defeated by the need to get a mini XLR to balanced cable to begin with! On to sound. In one word, treble. I have found the treble to be too sharp on too many songs and this singular attribute prevents me from using it for music. Ah, but it can used in studios for its neutral presentation, you say. Being a DROP exclusive, pro users are hardly the market being sold to, here. Another contradiction. Lastly, for its usual asking price of $450 or even the discounted $350, there are many good to great closed back music listening options, making this a challenging recommendation. Good closed back options include the HiFiMan HE-R9, Audio Technica ATH-A2000Z and the Campfire Audio Cascade at or around similar prices. I would still recommend the DT 177X Go purely for an audiophile collector, so you can experience the variation, but not as a daily driver.entreprenerd

These did not fit my head at all. There was a large gap on the bottom under my ears which prevented them from making a seal. I could fit an index finger in the gap. No adjustments helped. I do have a large head but it's very strange because I compared them to the DT 700 Pro X and DT 990 Pro, both of which fit perfectly fine. I could not really evaluate the sound because of this, but from what I did hear it sounded like they might actually have mids, unlike all other Beyerdynamic models I've tried. The other thing I noticed is the build quality felt much cheaper on these than others. DT 700 felt like a tank, these felt like a toy in comparison. Ultimately I returned them all because I don't like the usual Beyerdynamic V sound, these may have been better but the fit issue was an immediate deal breaker. Looking at the other low star reviews I see several others had the same fit issues so maybe it depends on your head size.wbag

Finally I enjoyed music how I wanted. Using Flat EQ settings. If highly professional sound engineers mastered the sound of for example Pink Floyd album, Why you need to listen it with some bass boosted or treble boosted headphones? They are already fine tuned it for you. Just take the flat monitor headphones and enjoy. Do not forget to use FLAC files and proper sound source. Don't use it with phone with 128kb mp3 and say that it is not sound good. And please note that headphone has a long 3 metres cable so it would be great if used indoors only. Fully satisfied. Value for money. Some of the Bands I've been listening on these headphones : Pink Floyd, Guns & Roses, Nirvana. They sound flawless. <3Silver S.

But to the point: After quite a long time I have to say that I have gotten used to the proximity of the buttons and while I still think that Audio-Technica should consider re-enginerring them, I don't think now that they are as onerous as I felt during my first review. I have upped my rating to 5 stars: I am even more sold on the quality and sound of these headphones and one extra plus! I discovered that it is quite easy to pair them with the TV and with my iPhone at the same time. Very useful feature.William

As a person to whom specs are of little help, I needed headphones for listening to music and my playlists (which a mostly classical) on my pc. I already am happy with my Sennheiser phones for optimum listening, so I was looking for some less critical (and frankly) and cheaper phones. I was surprised by the powerful bass. Music and videos I listen to on YouTube sound great, and my own CDs sound good enough (I attribute that to the player). So this is a real bargain without too much of a compromise.Andrew

I’ve had these headphones for several months now, and they’re still as good as the day I got them. I wasn’t looking for anything fancy, just functional and affordable, which they definitely are. I had a problem with skull candy headphones breaking on me (I went through 4 or 5 pairs in a year) but these feel super sturdy. The sound quality and noise blocking is excellent, and I love having co trip buttons on the phones themselves. My complaints are on the microphone, when I try to have a phone conversation, I get told I pick up a lot of background noise or that I sound like I’m going through a tunnel. also, the low battery notification is way too frequent and irregular. Sometimes it will notify you every 30 seconds, or 2 minutes… either way, having a song interrupted multiple times to tell me something I’m already aware of is irritating.RayBird440

Good detailed sound, cuts out external noise when listening, battery lasts forever, charges quickly, quick and good bluetooth connection, stay connected over distances and through walls. I don't want to keep a phone next to my head for long periods of time or really at all, so I use these most often to talk on the phone or when listening to my recordings, environment must be quiet for microphone input to be good, not silent, not noisy. I don't have to keep them connected for calls, connection takes only a few seconds. I got them for $20 but I'd say they could sell for $40-$50. Only complaint is personal, it's not quite comfortable for my ears, maybe my ears are big or awkward shaped, or I'm wearing them wrong with bad placement, but I can keep them on for a few hours, rest for 10 minutes then put them back on. I've never been one to spend over $50 on headphones and these were just short of that. My ears don't work well w/ in-ear options either so I took a chance on the JLab Audio Bluetooth headphones. I even bought the accidental coverage because I know how clumsy I can be. Pros: – easy to connect and rename on my mobile device – the audio quality between lows, mids and highs are pretty impressive. – the headphones have never been so loud to blow out my ears. – grips to my head pretty well without concern of slipping while I walk, jog, hike, row machine, stationary bike and even when I'm doing boxing basics. – Accidental coverage: I did need to use it and it was completely worth it that I bought it again on my next set. Mainly you pay the accidental cost which was in the low $10-$15's if I recall correctly. Totally worth it! No hassle, most stores have an abundance of these, and I walked out w/ a new one. – My son and daughter kept stealing it from me as it works great on their school Zoom meetings and school laptops. Wired headphones… way more affordable, yes, but these are actual just as ideal for my kids (even for P.E.) – With COVID I work remotely… with these headphones we aren't competing in audio volume and during my work and school hours… we just have to worry about our speaking volume. Cons: – not sure why but audio from my MacPro or HP Laptop are never clean. I actually owned the earlier cheaper/discontinued model before it broke and never had poor Windows/Mac audio. – it's fragile… I'm clumsy and with very low impact and the right angle… it landed perfectly on the ground affecting the volume buttons. I attempted to fix it myself, opened the headphone housing itself and discovered it was far too damaged. If you aren't ready to move up to higher quality headphones or just looking at budget friendly options like me… I highly recommend these!JoeSandyEggo

I recieved my live500BT headphones a few weeks ago. I decided to trust JBL since I have the charge 4 speaker and I love it. My phone isn't in the best shape, but I can leave my phone on the wireless charger and stay connected to my headphones through the entire house! If you're like me and don't care for earbuds, then these are for you. Much lighter, but with a better sound quality than other over the ear headphones I've used. Great for the gym. Works across all genres from podcasts, pop, country, punk, metal and electronic! Also in 3 weeks I haven't had to charge them, amazing battery life!Dank1103

I bought these headphones when my old ones broke. I was excited at first as the audio quality when listening to music is outstanding. Then Monday rolled around and I needed to use these headphones for their main purpose- online meetings. These bluetooth headphones come with a mic and a hands-free mode intended for using the mic and earphones at the same time. However, the audio quality is abysmal, quite literally impossible to understand anything that is said, as it really is little more than distorted static. After much research online, I have found that this is a known problem with this model of jbl headphones. I did not buy a dud pair, the model is a dud. From what I have seen online, JBL has known about this issue since 2016 and have decided to do absolutely nothing about it. Hopefully, I can get a refund for these useless headphones, otherwise I've wasted a lot of money on a brand that I used to regard as high quality. Very dissapointed.craine

was on a trip needed a pair of headphones cause I lost my AirPods and passed by Walmart and got these. These headphones are the way to go. Not overpriced and my favorite part is the battery life. Thing never died on me. I was on the trip for 3 days with the headphones barely charged them. Some days I didn’t charge it and it didn’t die until after a few days I got home . Charges super super fast, battery life super super long. Sound quality is great. Love the thing so much.
