I love this guitar. I initially wanted an amp, The same model as my first amp, a gift from my parents that I regretfully sold.I placed an order with guitar center and within a few days they called to ask if I would accept a demo model. I told them I really wanted a new one. A few more days passed and my amp was at the store, I picked it up and sure enough it was used, thrown upside down in a box and missing the foot switch. They told me they would get me a new one, but they couldn't and I ended up getting my money back. I was discouraged and ended up spending half the money on something else and never got the amp. I decided I would buy an acoustic with the rest of the money and I had heard good things about the Taylor GS mini. I didn't know where to order from and decided to try Sweetwater. This was the best move I have made. I received a text message right after I ordered, then an email with pictures of my guitar and it showed up the very next day… in tune! This guitar sounds amazing. It also came with a little bag of candy. I was so happy with Sweetwater that I placed another order the day my guitar arrived for a strap and a new cable for my electric guitar. I could have drove 10 minutes to guitar center but I am done with them and now will only order from Sweetwater. The customer service is the best. This is how you treat your customers! I have been wanting to get my own Taylor GS Mini since I first heard one, and when I saw the rosewood back and sides model, I knew I had to act. It wasn't in the budget at the time, but I was so anxious to have one that I called AMS, and man, am I glad I did! My sales associate Enrique made it SO easy for me to obtain this lovely instrument that I simply had to do it. First, the guitar itself: I've never owned a parlor guitar before, and wasn't exactly sure it would be suitable sonically, but man, the sound of this instrument just Blows.My.Mind! Every note of every string rings out as well as or better than any acoustic I've ever played, including several guitars costing three and four times as much. And the tone is simply astounding: huge,rich, bell-like clarity up and down the entire sonic spectrum, and the sustain is simply unbelievable. The setup was very much to my liking and suits my playing style perfectly, and the craftsmanship is second to none. I waited for several weeks before writing this because I wanted to play it for awhile before giving my opinion, and I love it more each and every time I pick it up. I'm not a luthier, but I am a finish carpenter with considerable woodworking experience, having worked in wood for more than forty years now, and I have yet to spot a single flaw anywhere on this guitar. Not only that, but every time I pick it up, I end up playing for much longer than I had intended, so it's good that I am retired! It's just such a joy to play that it really will become a time thief if you're not careful, but that's the kind of problem I think we all want in our gear. I own nine other guitars, mostly electrics, but this has become my go-to baby, because of its breathtaking tone and articulation. I just can't say enough about how glad I am to've made this purchase, and if you are thinking about getting one, think no more! Bought this guitar for my daughter for Christmas. I got a gs mini koa plus for my present, and I honestly can't decide with one I like better. The rosewood back and sides on this guitar are stunning. The Sitka top sounds great, especially considering the size. I cant say enough good things about the gs mini.

Look, I have played guitar over 50 years. I bought this to have a guitar to play around the camp fire or just drag around. I had Sweetwater set it up before it shipped. Got this thing and was completely blown away! With the set up it plays better than my Ovation Elite. Great guitar and great sound not to mention the service from Greg and the guys at Sweetwater. Perfect set up, awesome customer service. For the price, there is no way you can go wrong with this guitar – just make sure you get it set up properly!!!
Much more than a starter guitar. Put a set of Elixir strings on this, a minor tweak of the action and away you go. Plays like an electric sounds full-bodied like a Dreadnought should. Full range of sound from base mid and treble. Mic it or I use a Dean Markley pick up for amplifier. A gorgeous sound and play sensitivity to a myriad of different styles. I have more expensive acoustic guitars. But believe it or not this one sounds better and plays better than all of them. I purchased the ebony all black model. It has a very nice look on stage. But my thing is not how an instrument looks but rather on the playability and the tonal quality. A wonderful steal for the price. I'm telling you if you purchase this guitar for practice recording or performance you will not be disappointed. And at this price point you can get one for next to the couch, one for the studio, one for the camping trip, one for the beach, and one for the stage. And still not spend as much as ONE Taylor.
This 79 buck guitar was the biggest surprise ever! I really didn't expect much, and was having second thoughts after I placed the order. I bought the sunburst version on a SDOTD as a total impulse buy. I have several expensive acoustics, and I don't need a cheap guitar. But I have to say, this is a really nice instrument. The fit and finish is above average, with relatively smooth fret ends and a huge sound. The tuners, however inexpensive, work as intended and stay in tune. The sunburst finish is lovely, with only one small thumbnail scratch. The neck joint is well done, and the neck has a comfortable full feeling. Epiphone has improved the "E" symbol on the pickguard, it is made into the plastic, and not glued on and wanting to fall off like on the older Epiphones. The rosette appears to be painted on, but it looks good regardless. The bridge (rosewood) is solidly attached to the top, with no lifting or gaps. The body has a white plastic binding front and back that is well executed. The rosewood fretboard is attractive with nice grain. And the sound! This guitar has a huge, loud sound for a laminate guitar. Tomorrow I plan to replace the original strings with some quality mediums, which can only make it sound even better. One odd feature is a false truss rod cover, held in place with three wood screws. There is nothing under it! The access to the truss rod is inside the sound hole. I did have to remove some glue from around the truss rod adjusting nut inside the guitar. Quite frankly, the quality and sound of the Epiphone just blows me away! If I had to sell all of my other acoustics and only keep this one, I would be content. It's that good!JimmyJ

I bought this guitar to check out a budget friendly offering from Yamaha. I have to say I was not disappointed! Excellent tone and volume, the top really resonates. The guitar was really well setup right out of the box. It needed about 3/4 of a clockwise truss rod adjustment, no prob. Other than that it didn't need any fret dressing whatsoever. That's really impressive for a Chinese guitar. Heck even one of my Mexican Martins needed fret dressing out of the box! Also intonation was spot on and this also is important in your guitar. Very impressed with this guitar, intermediate/advanced feel but priced at a beginner budget. You won't regret picking one up, I assure you!Big Bone Murphy
There is a point of quality when an instrument reaches when it stops being seen as "better or worse" but rather just a different flavor. This Yamaha has reached that point. You can play it alongside a guitar costing 5x more and it stands up well. Yamaha is also one of those rare companies with a long history of top quality across all kinds of products, and guitars are an area Yamaha knows well. This is just a beautiful guitar through and throughout. You can get beautiful uncompromisingly great studio recordings with this guitar. I've owned many acoustics over the years, MANY, and this Yamaha is one of the best sounding I've ever owned. Went to GC just to check out a few lower end acoustics to pick up for jamming on, and tried almost every one in the room. Picked this one up last just before I was ready to leave, and immediately was blown away by the sound and playability, brought a couple friends to listen and tell me which one they thought sounded the best, and hands down this won over all of them. It has the tone and warmth of a Martin D34, which I have owned a few, and it plays like a dream. The neck is so sliky smooth, easy to fly up and down with no effort. It has amazing sustain and beautiful tone, I fell in love with it and just couldn't put it down. I didn't expect a guitar of this price range to sound as good as it does, got it home and I couldn't put it down. Played for 4 hours straight, and even after trying to put it down to go to bed at 1am I found myself playing a for a few more minutes before I could actually go to sleep. Love this Yamaha more than any guitar I've bought in the last decade. The best thing about it is, It gave me the desire to pick up playing guitar again, after hardly touching any of my other guitars for almost a year it's the one I want to play more than all of them. My first is a 416ce-R….I purchased a couple of years ago which I love playing, and enjoy thoroughly. That being said I love this GS Mahogany Mini more. For a fraction of the cost you have an awesome guitar here that plays incredibly. Bought a SKB hard case to protect it. The case that came with it is nice, but not for air travel. I just can't stop playing this mini. Great sound, playability, quality and beautiful. Glad I bought this guitar. No regrets!
This guitar is warm and rich sounding. The playability is incredible and feels amazing in the hands. It looks like it is worth more than what it is. Taylor took the care and attention to this line of guitars as it does with its higher end models. I used to have a 614ce and this mini is on par with the way it feels. Obviously not as loud as the 614ce or as pretty, but the care in craftsmanship is the same. Not that the guitar is pretty though. I love this guitar and could not put it down. Sweetwater also did an excellent job on inspecting and packaging this guitar to make sure it sounds perfect when it arrives in my hands.

Bought this LH Fender because I wanted an acoustic. Overall the sound is good with the right strings. Within 3 weeks of purchase I had to have the neck adjusted and frets filed because they were inset too high. The sound overall is bright and vibrant. Had a couple times playing where the sound was not the best. Overall, it's a solid entry level guitar. Could be better but could be far worse.Phil
Overall: While this has a decent tone, it's not going to improve with age as the top is a laminated top–not solid spruce.Moreover, since this is a guitar targeting the beginning student, I mark it down because the setup is NOT conducive to the beginner. The action needs to be lowered and the Fender branded DuraTone strings it came from the factory with feel more like a medium gauge than a light gauge. I have a 12-string Yamaha that is easier to play than this.But to give it some props–the price includes a hardshell case–something no other guitar in this price range offers. And the abalone rosette is a nice cosmetic touch.The tuning machines turn smoothly and it does hold a tune very well.And for those who object to Chinese-made guitars, this was made in Indonesia.David
Generally, it is a great guitar. Many of you would expect a low volume for a mahogany top, back and side guitar. However, it's dreadnought style compensates for this and thus you will have a warm mellow toned guitar whilst still having plenty of volume. The guitar looks a lot better in real life than on the photos you may see on the internet. Contrary to the CD60S spruce top (built in Indonesia), this guitar is manufactured in China. The tone difference between CD60S spruce top and this one is small as the spruce top also has mahogany back and sides. This guitar however is one with great overtones. Being a novice, it is a great starting guitar. My only complaint is that the nut and saddle are plastic. The nut, in particular, causes the guitar to be in need of tuning every 2 or 3 days. However, this disadvantage is very manageable and if you prefer, you can spend a tiny bit of money to replace the nut with a bone nut at a guitar shop. If you webchat with a guitar center rep they might be able to give you a discount to cut the cost of this guitar to the price level of the cheapest possible for a major manufacturer's acoustic guitar.Dan the Beginner

This guitar is warm and rich sounding. The playability is incredible and feels amazing in the hands. It looks like it is worth more than what it is. Taylor took the care and attention to this line of guitars as it does with its higher end models. I used to have a 614ce and this mini is on par with the way it feels. Obviously not as loud as the 614ce or as pretty, but the care in craftsmanship is the same. Not that the guitar is pretty though. I love this guitar and could not put it down. Sweetwater also did an excellent job on inspecting and packaging this guitar to make sure it sounds perfect when it arrives in my hands.

Fantastic service from the team at Fanatic – happy to correspond in English. Order processed and despatched quickly and delivered to Gibraltar without any issues. Guitar arrived in perfect condition, well boxed. Was surprised that the guitar didn't have a strap button on the heel, but from research know that this is common practice for Martins – a bit of a shame, but no effect whatsoever on a fabulous guitar. Action is pretty high and the neck needed a slight truss rod adjustment, but easy to do with the right tool and experience of such maintenance (the allen key does not come with the guitar, but easily purchased). Width at the nut slightly wider than my previous guitar so a little technique change needed to avoid unintentional muting on the E string – that's not the guitars fault!
If you want the ARCHETYPE, the inspiration, the BEST, Go for a Martin. I have a Gibson Original Jumbo 1934 reissue, that sound like heaven, the Martin is another animal, a perfect pair for my Gibson, I'm not a professional, I love blues and fingerpicking in my home with a cigar and a whiskey and my two acoustics and my OMI Dobro Lilly Of The Valley are a treasure for me! The martin have a striped ebony fingerboard and bridge (I like it but some maybe preffer a black one, well are not black), the sound is clear and a joy! The craftmanship is perfect, the case is very nice, the martin strings sound very good (I bought 3 sets of the same), the rosewood is very nice paired, and the top have a beautiful aged tone. I'm a new guitarist and consider myself very fortunate to be able to afford an instrument like this. I am nowhere near good enough (yet) to get the most out of this guitar, but I will say that even as a beginner (and long-time music lover) I can really hear the difference between this and lesser guitars, and playing on an instrument like this makes learning more rewarding, and dare I say easier. Anything I hear wrong is clearly my technique, which this guitar rewards when you get it right, and makes obvious when you miss. From simple cowboy chords to picked or fingered individual notes this guitar just has tone to die for. Hit an E minor, hard or soft, and each string resonates with depth, clarity and sustain. Playing this guitar is really a dream come true. Oh, I said I'm a beginner and that means that as I write this I've been playing guitar for all of five months. I'm 52-years-old and take weekly 30 minute lessons, have dabbled in online lessons and practice about 15 to 30 minutes on weekdays and about an hour or two on Saturdays and Sundays. Purchased guitar at local Sam Ash but didn't have in stock because it's left handed. They sent it from Fla. location directly to my house in three days as promised. Open gig bag to find a display model guitar with badly scratched pick guard . A blind man could before putting in gig bag. Disappointed they would send demo model after paying full price and requesting new only. Rest of guitar seemed in fine shape . I purchase this guitar last week Monday and it arrived on Friday. This was an upgrade from my Yamaha FG800 and I must say that as much as I have loved my FG800 the FG830 just blows it away.
I have owned a Martin, Fender, Taylor and Teton. Of all my guitars I have fallen hard for the Yamaha Brand. The FG830 is very easy to play and sounds great right out of the box. The action is lower than the FG800 and the sound is amazing.
My recommendation to a new player or seasoned player is Buy this amazing guitar!Todd Ladwig
I was familiar with the Yamaha FG730 and its' favorable reviews as an excellent value solid top guitar. I also tried out an FG730 at a local retailer and found it to be comfortable to play, with a decent and full acoustic tone. I would have purchased the FG730 had I not read about the newly released FG830 … similar in design to the FG730 with the added enhancement of scalloped bracing. I decided to order an FG830, based on what I believed would be an improved tone versus the FG 730 (enhanced bass). My instincts were good. The tone and playability of this guitar exceeded my expectations, and I find myself picking this guitar quite often to play and practice, in spite of having several Martin and Taylor guitars on hand in their cases. The Yamaha doesn't sound or play as well as those other higher end acoustics, but I am pleasantly satisfied overall. This is an excellent beginner's guitar, and not so bad as a backup guitar in a crunch.karby55

I m selling this amazing martin d28 acoustic guitar with built in lr baggs anthem electronics. i ve had it about 2 years. i believe it is a 2018 model according to the serial number. very light play wear that barely comes out in the pictures but i did my best. there are no dings or dents. in the top corner of the back bass side, you can see some haziness where it s not as shiny as a result of rubbing against the player. there are very light pickguard scratches. the top and sides are pretty flawless. it was professionally set up about 6 months ago and plays great with low action. no trades. serious buyers only please.

I bought this guitar to check out a budget friendly offering from Yamaha. I have to say I was not disappointed! Excellent tone and volume, the top really resonates. The guitar was really well setup right out of the box. It needed about 3/4 of a clockwise truss rod adjustment, no prob. Other than that it didn't need any fret dressing whatsoever. That's really impressive for a Chinese guitar. Heck even one of my Mexican Martins needed fret dressing out of the box! Also intonation was spot on and this also is important in your guitar. Very impressed with this guitar, intermediate/advanced feel but priced at a beginner budget. You won't regret picking one up, I assure you!Big Bone Murphy

You can play it alongside a guitar costing 5x more and it stands up well. Yamaha is also one of those rare companies with a long history of top quality across all kinds of products, and guitars are an area Yamaha knows well. This is just a beautiful guitar through and throughout. You can get beautiful uncompromisingly great studio recordings with this guitar. Hitting the low strings hard with strumming gives a nice deep and rich tone. Also, the hardware / tuners are nice.Scott
I've owned many acoustics over the years, MANY, and this Yamaha is one of the best sounding I've ever owned. Went to GC just to check out a few lower end acoustics to pick up for jamming on, and tried almost every one in the room. Picked this one up last just before I was ready to leave, and immediately was blown away by the sound and playability, brought a couple friends to listen and tell me which one they thought sounded the best, and hands down this won over all of them. It has the tone and warmth of a Martin D34, which I have owned a few, and it plays like a dream. The neck is so sliky smooth, easy to fly up and down with no effort. It has amazing sustain and beautiful tone, I fell in love with it and just couldn't put it down. I didn't expect a guitar of this price range to sound as good as it does, got it home and I couldn't put it down. Played for 4 hours straight, and even after trying to put it down to go to bed at 1am I found myself playing a for a few more minutes before I could actually go to sleep. Love this Yamaha more than any guitar I've bought in the last decade. The best thing about it is, It gave me the desire to pick up playing guitar again, after hardly touching any of my other guitars for almost a year it's the one I want to play more than all of them. It has the tone and warmth of a Martin D34, which I have owned a few, and it plays like a dream. The neck is so sliky smooth, easy to fly up and down with no effort. It has amazing sustain and beautiful tone, I fell in love with it and just couldn't put it down. I didn't expect a guitar of this price range to sound as good as it does, got it home and I couldn't put it down. Played for 4 hours straight, and even after trying to put it down to go to bed at 1am I found myself playing a for a few more minutes before I could actually go to sleep. Love this Yamaha more than any guitar I've bought in the last decade. The best thing about it is, It gave me the desire to pick up playing guitar again, after hardly touching any of my other guitars for almost a year it's the one I want to play more than all of them. I bought this guitar to check out a budget friendly offering from Yamaha. I have to say I was not disappointed! Excellent tone and volume, the top really resonates. The guitar was really well setup right out of the box. It needed about 3/4 of a clockwise truss rod adjustment, no prob. Other than that it didn't need any fret dressing whatsoever. At first I was going to say it's a great guitar for the price, but that really doesn't do this thing justice. It's just a great guitar. It has a great sound, it feels good in your hands, it's easy to hold and to play. I can't fault this guitar at all. The action was a bit high out of the box, but the tech at Guitar Center gave it a great set-up and now it's very easy to play. I'm planning to give this one to my daughter, but I would happily keep this myself. I have only been playing guitar for a few weeks, but even I can make this thing sound good!Todd
There is a place in my project studio for FS800: 48 years ago I sold Yamaha Guitars and found them excellent. When the group "America" presented a acoustic sound (Horse with No Name; Ventura Highway; Tin Man . . . et al) the solid rhythms of Yamaha solid top guitars proved Ideal. Through the years I have experimented with various genres as a singer songwriter; now a days I have returned to folk and "heavy on" acoustic guitar sounds. To complement my more expensive guitars I needed something that could deliver the solid rhythms I fondly recall. Now the Yamaha FS800 excels for finger styles as well: I layer tracks this guitar is a breeze to play and its character naturally stands out in the mix. Perfect couch and campfire guitar. Sustains and project very well with a surprisingly round warm sound. Gorgeous burst finish much nicer in person. String spacing is slightly narrower than standard, make note. Bridge saddle needed to be shaved down for lower action. Neck and frets were perfect otherwise. Tuning very stable. A set of 11-52 will be next string change. Love playing this thing, and exploring alternate tunings! It seems Yamaha's reputation is true.Greg

I love this guitar, but I got mine for a killer price, so… I probably like it 5x better than had I paid full price. I'm marking it not a good value because the new prices are ridiculous. But I am extremely happy with the price I got it for. Plays great, sounds great, looks great. It's got that awesome vintage vibe but has excellent playability all the way up and down the neck. Great for strumming and fingerstyle, and least for anything I want to do with it. The mic on the LR Baggs Anthem blender doesn't get much use because it feeds back. Run it through a Fishman Aura Spectrum DI, and you will love it.martin_gibson
Overall: Ordering an acoustic without being able to play and hear it first is pretty scary. After watching numerous comparison videos, I landed on the Southern Jumbo. I am thrilled to say I am absolutely blown away by this guitar. The fit and finish is flawless, and is drop dead gorgeous in person. Most importantly though is that it’s easily the best sounding acoustic I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing. The sound is lush, rich and complex, with dynamic range for days. The neck feels pretty similar to a slim taper on a 60s Les Paul. It’s got enough girth to grip, but is still easy to move around. I can’t recommend this guitar enough.
This is a unique Gibson. With the Rosewood sides and back and long scale it sounds a bit like my Martin HD-28. This guitar though, with the Rosewood bridge seems to have a little more clarity and punch. Unlike short scale Gibsons this guitar has a nice tight sound. Fit and finish is really good. I am lovin' this guitar! This was the acoustic sound upgrade I was looking for from my Gibson J-45 Standard, and then some! The 1942 Banner J-45 and the Standard are really two different guitars in every way. The sound is wide and broad and deep and has everything a Standard lacks: the 1942 Banner sound is big, the Standard sound is small and not at all on the same level. The build quality on this guitar is exceptional (on par with Martins) and I appreciate the bone bridge, nut and pins. The thin finish really lets the top vibrate and you can see and appreciate the wood grain and wood color on the sides and neck. Less bling, more growl with this model. I could sell every other guitar I own and be content with this Gibson 1942 Banner J-45, and my Martin D-18 Authentic 1937. Both guitars are so very different, but the quality and depth of the sound is the same. They ring forever with layers of overtones. They really compliment each other and yet hold their own against each other. The sound is incredible on this Banner J-45, once the guitar starts to open up from regular playing. It has that big dry Mahogany sound. I am so excited to have this Gibson! I feel I have found my two forever guitars in this Gibson 1942 Banner and my Martin D-18 Authentic 1937. Many thanks to my Sales Engineer, Jake Barker, who counseled and advised me on upgrading to the 1942 Banner J-45 from the Standard – and all the other conversations and help along the way too. I have become a believer in the torrefied Adirondack top and bracing making a difference in regards to sound. Maybe it is just the sound quality of the pre-war models that floors me. The neck is thick with a comfortable rounded C shape. If you can afford it, buy it, it's worth it! Minuses: Not a fan of the tuners, I find them cheap looking from the back – but they hold tune. The "period correct case" is OK, but the latches are small and thin and don't inspire confidence; the standard modern case is better with the big locking latches.
Love the J-45 but also have historically owned Rosewood guitars so this combination was a perfect fit for me. It's got a big full sound, good lows, nice highs. The onboard pickup is better than I expected and when played through an acoustic amp, the low end and fullness of the sound was insanely good. The guitar has a beautiful finish and some nice added touches above the standard J-45. You can't go wrong with a J-45 regardless but if you want something a little different from the standard in terms of sound and looks, I would take a serious look at this one. I really wanted an electric J-45. The G 45 seemed to fit the bill. I've owned many Gibsons since the 70's, including a '63 J45 adjustable bridge and a '64 L5 CES. But they've gotten so expensive that new ones are basically out of my reach. I know Gibson fit, finish and quality and I have to say this guitar falls a little short, even at a grand. I own several acoustic electrics that I use as gigging workhorses. I ran across 3 major issues with the G45 Studio. The G string tuning key responded poorly and required nearly 1/2 a turn in either direction to change string pitch. The offset bridge for high E and B strings raised a flag for me since all my other acoustic electrics have a straight bridge. I could not get the guitar to be reasonably tuned no matter how many cents I tried to compensate either way. If I played an E it would be in, then a D, the D would be noticeably out. I am very experienced in compromised tuning, but it was irreconcilable with this guitar. Lastly, the sound. When I plugged the guitar in to the P.A. there was barely any sound coming out. My other acoustics are consistent in volume when plugged in. I loosened the strings, lifted the bridge and found small pieces of wood left that had pinched and left dents in the pickup wire compromising the contact of pressure of the bridge downward. So the sound was uneven,even after I blew out the wood chips. I would consider buying the guitar again if I could test play it through an amplifier before purchasing, but I won't pay full price for a demonstrator model that has already been played by numerous people and the guitar stores I have visited had no new ones out of the box. The included case makes this a steal. But with the quality control for this model you take a chance. I played the guitar for approximately 30 hours before returning.Rikenrocker

This was my beginner guitar and it was decent enough. A humidifier is very important if you want to keep this guitar in good shape. The action tends to slip up around the 12 fret after a while, which is very annoying especially when you're trying to play blues. If you're REALLY into Dylan, this guitar is an ok choice to start with but for anybody else, I highly suggest you get either an electric starter kit or just another company. Yamaha is great at making a lot of things but if you're serious you should buy from a company that knows guitars and nothing more, nothing less.Monterey Purple

Having relatively recently started learning guitar on an electric stratocaster-style guitar this was a great transition to the acoustic segment. The thinner body makes it much more comfortable to play than say a dreadnought and the neck is comfortable to transition too, yet the guitar doesn't seem to sacrifice as much sound as you'd expect from a thinner guitar. The finish of the guitar is that of a more expensive guitar for example the rosewood finger board. On arrival I actually thought the guitar looked better than the pictures on the website suggest but do note that because of the finish it is prone to showing finger marks which would need cleaning time to time. After suffering a permanent back injury I could no longer play my elictric guitar as it was too heavy or my acoustic electric guitar because it felt like it was twice it's normal size because I could no longer find a comfortable position for myself to play it. I bought a keyboard thinking that I could still play music. Afterv two weeks of playing around with the keyboard I gave up pllaying. Then I saw on the internet one night an advertisement for a 3/4 size Yamaha acoustic electric guitar guitar with a slimline bosy which looked like a nice guitar so I checked out males and females playing it and sounded very nice so I bought one. Man am I'm so glad I did. I got the sunburst like this one on sale. I was excited as l took it out of the box and went straight to my mancave and started playing it. It was perfecty in tune and for a guitar of this size it's got such a beautiful tone playing ACOUSTIC. So I plugged it in and it's as good as it sounded on YouTube. As an 67 yesr old man who started playing guitar when I was 16 years old, this is a beauty. The only thing I'm not entirely happy with is the action. It's just a little too high. Other than that, I love it. It's a very nice looking acoustic for the money. It stays in tune extremely well and I was shocked at how full the sound was even with such a thin body. Sounds even better plugged in. The thinner body is super comfortable to handle and hold. It makes the transition from electric to acoustic very easy. The built in tuner is one of my favorite features. It works great and seems to be as accurate as any other tuner I've ever used. Overall, I would recommend this acoustic to anyone on a budget looking for a great sounding and feeling acoustic who doesn't mind the action a little on the higher side. (Side Note – I might be too critical on the action since I'm used to my electrics set up for such low action.)

Over the past years I have mostly had Senheiser headphones, then AKG then to KRK 8400s on the last pair. As the headphone served me for quite a few years before going defective I decided to try the Yamaha's Glad i did, it's just made me realise I have been missing a true monitor headphone like these. The flat true response they give and enabling you to hear all the details in your song is just amazing. Based on how good these are I will buying some Yamaha Monitors as well.
Overall: The older you get and the longer you play you come to realize that it's your skills and not that of gear that really matters,i.e Hendrix would have been Hendrix on a Wal-Mart Starcaster, is it nice to have a higher quality instrument? Of course is it necessary? No.This guitar will "get the job done", especially in a recording situation. This guitar is a "bare bones" no frills instrument for working players,once you "make it" go out and buy a 4k Martin or Gibson until then keep it real and work on your technique. I'm not really sure what players get in terms of value when they spend thousands on an instrument a 3k guitar does not sound 15x better than a $250.00 guitar. Some adjustment would be advised on this Yamaha, file down the nut or replace all together, the tuners could be better and the strings meh but this is a fine, professional quality instrument and I highly recommend it.Mike
