After being skeptical about the players kit since release I though I'd give it a try. since it's not cheap I have waited and saved up to try it out The item came in good time and I was eager to get it onto my guitars. I read all instructions twice and thought I get started on tiny sketches on a newer guitar Used the product and nothing, absolutely no changes the guitar got a clean but the tiny scratches were still there and visible Then I used it on larger scratches and absolutely nothing, on black surfaces.. Still nothing Waited few days and gave it another try and still absolutely no scratches were being removed I used car wax at fraction of the price which did a better job. I choose this product to take some scratches and scuffs out of my gloss black congas. The two major scuffs were deep enough to easily feel them by running my thumbnail across them. Black is a difficult color to polish out, but a couple of rounds of #2 followed by #1 to get the glassy shine back did the job. I wish I'd taken before and after pictures, because this stuff restored my drums to like-new condition. Yeah, it takes some strength (rubbing gently will not do it with a polyurethane finish… you gotta dig in), but it was worth the time I put into it (about half an hour actually) to see those conga shells shine like mirrors. I bought a used guitar on a well known Guitar website , it was supposed to be in excellent condition but arrived with a bunch of scratches and swirls on the top part of the body . I immediately bought this stuff even though its pricey at $30. I read the instructions and applied this stuff a few times(probably 4 or 5 times) , it reduced / diminished the look of the scratches but there are still many . If anything all the scratches are still there just slightly less visible. Note theres lots of glare on the guitar being that's its glossy and the scratches are only visible under the light . I'm glad it was able to reduce the appearance but disappointed it could not remove them.. they're basically all still there. Here's a before and after. Great product, comes with everything you need a larger fabric cloth which is huge. When I ordered this product id figure the cloth would be 6×6 inches but boy to my joy it was about 1ft by 1ft. I bought a used acoustic guitar for my son to learn on. I didn't realize exactly how much grime was on this guitar until I used this system. I wasn't happy with other methods of cleaning this guitar. I bought this kit to clean up a demo model acoustic bass that I just bought. The finish had been slightly worn in several spots and the neck was very dirty. This kit easily did the job. After a couple hours of buffing and scrubbing, my bass seriously looks brand new. I did have to apply a couple coats of the wax, but the finish looks flawless now. Most impressively, however, is how nice the fretboard looks after applying the conditioner. The other products are great as well; although, I haven't tried the string cleaner yet. I ordered GHS' Gorgomyte cloth, the Nomad F-One fretboard oil, and some new strngs, GHS Burnished Roundwound Nickel Rockers Medium (11-50) for my Strat. Like others, I avoid lemon oil. First, I cleaned the fingerboard with some squares cut out from the Gorgomyte cloth (per the instructions). Then I applied the Nomad oil on the entire fretboard. I let it sit a few minutes and the rosewood fretboard soaked it right up. I applied a second coat, only this time I rubbed some on the back of the neck, too. Gave it a few minutes to soak in and wiped off the excess. Lubed the saddles and nut, and put on the new strings. What a difference! It feels so much faster and sounds great! I recommend this procedure every string change.Johne1
I used it on both my rose and ebony fretboards with great results. It slicks on easily with no mess and adds a luster to the look of the wooden surfaces. The price is right close considering you know exactly what is in it, unlike other mystery oils. I like to know what I'm putting on my expensive surfaces and this is good stuff. Note: it doesn't display the ingredients on the bottle, but there is a presentation on YouTube explaining everything you might want to know in case you' interested. Highly recommend.Scotty
As a professional for thirty years, I have reasonable experience in cleaning fingerboard, although it's probably been ten years. I watched the demonstration video and got right to it, replicating the video. It's not a complicated process: dab on, soak for a few seconds, rub off. I was pretty disappointed the gunk did not come off anywhere near as well as in the video. I tried soaking, rubbing harder, different cloth, etc. Both instruments (high-end acoustics) had a buildup that I eventually had to carefully scrape off with a tool. Once I got almost all gunk scraped off, I used the fluid again and it cleaned the last bit. It did soak into and condition the ebony, however, so that's a plus.
