Very nice. I've been playing for 40 years. I'm teaching my fiancee to play. But I'm self taught. This chart is great. Not full of stuff that she isn't ready for. Great tool. She loves it. Lot of thought went into it. Thank you, always, Jeff Desaro.jdkniv12

i'd like the scales to be a little bigger, to see them from a distance greater than 3 feet awayskug
it is harder to read at a glance than say a Hal Leonard chart. you have to really study the chart before it makes sense. If I had it to do over I would have ordered a different chart.scott
Great for learning scalesJerry
5. Fretboard Logic [Book]
Product Details:
Armed with a comprehensive understanding of the guitar fretboard from volume i, fretboard logic 2 explores the next area common to all styles of music and all types of guitars: the tone groups.fretboard logic volume ii presents the 3 basic tonal elements of music in the context of the fretboard pattern organization of volume i. the tonal materials available to a musician come from note groupings. groups of notes that are played simultaneously are termed chords and those that are played consecutively are called scales or modes. the third category consists of a hybrid whereby chords are played like scales, known as arpeggios. guitar chords, scales, and arpeggios are not music by themselves but are the tonal materials that the musician uses to produce it. with fretboard logic 2 you are not forced to memorize thousands of patterns or stuck trying to guess on which string to look for which note as with ordinary methods. instead, you'll be building your guitar knowledge based on the patterns already mastered in volume i. this takes years off the learning curve. fretboard logic does not dictate any specific style of music, as it presents chords, scales and arpeggios as the one area which all types of music have in common. volume ii represents a full and complete toolbox of these essential musical elements and provides a means of learning them with less effort than ever before. also the guitar lessons include introductions to theory, technique, style, lead and rhythm playing.

Interesting approach to learning guitar fretboard.australopithicus01
I bought the entire 3 book series about 10 years ago. I still use book II and book III as references from time to time and still find them useful tools for expanding my chops. Forget the 1000+ chord or scale compendiums; once you understand the basics of the C-A-G-E-D sequence and how chords and scales fit into it, you won't need to dig thru a book to find a Bb harmonic minor scale (or any other scale). You'll know how to build it yourself. Beginners will find the tools needed to play and sound good, while intermediate and advanced players will certainly find new territory to explore. If you're serious about making music, this is the best investment of time and money you can make.tameddragon
My son is interested in guitar and he's kind of leearning from different people helping him along and a lot of practice on his own time. He was tole by several people that these books (all three volumes) are the best books around for teaching chords, etc. So I got him all three for Christmas. He is very happy with them.heflywhisgirl

I will have fun working through this method book. The author is extraordinarilly analytical about music and can break down complex concepts into understandable pieces. I think the process of working through this book will be as enjoyable as the facility I'll have at the end of it.mortonmusic
If your serious about learning guitar this is the book that will do it. The book goes far beyond any other guitar book I've ever owned. Stetina is a fantastic teacher who makes it interesting and challenging. He even states in the opening pages that this is a book that will take you years to get through. From the first page you are learing intervals and training your ear at the same time. Of course he covers scales and chords, but instead of just showing you, he explains in great depth, why. Other subjects in this book include modes, keys, arpeggios, hybrid scales, alternate tunings, chord voicings, inversions, chromatic melody…and tons more. If you want to just learn to noodle around then this isn't your book. However, if you want to learn and understand theory that will take you from guitar player to musician, then stop reading this and buy this book!eleja09

20. Guitar Fretboard: Memorize The Fretboard In Less Than 24 Hours: 35+ Tips And Exercises Included [Book]
Product Details:
Memorize the fretboard before you play another note! a fully memorized fretboard is one of the most underrated skills in the guitar world. it's not expected from a beginner, nor is it taught in the normal course of guitar learning. – but the smartest and best guitarists in the world know why fretboard knowledge can be the secret to being good at guitar. – why memorize the fretboard? apart from sounding extremely cool when you say "oh, you played a c instead of a c#", it amplifies every area of your guitar playing: area #1: guitar scales won't be just patterns on the neck: guitar scales are simply a couple notes repeated all over the fretboard. if you understand this simple concept and have the fretboard memorized, you won't need to memorize those endless patterns all over the fretboard. simply get set and solo! area #2: you'll unlock 1000+ guitar chords: chords are combinations of specific notes too. you can hold these notes anywhere on the fretboard to get chords in different contexts. but it starts with – you guessed it – fretboard knowledge. – area #3: song writing becomes child's play: break free from common chord shapes and sounds to venture into the wild west of music writing. add your own chords to popular songs, change the key or simply be more creative. – granted this is an advanced skill, but the shortest path to get there – fretboard memorization! area #4: and the biggest benefit of them all – improvisation! improvising is natural to a person who knows the fretboard! new note combinations, unorthodox melodies, playing fluently with a backing track or even writing new melodies. nothing works if you can't pick out the notes on the fretboard in an instant. – so, fretboard knowledge allows you to solo better, improvise better, play better harmonies and write songs. that's a major chunk of guitar right there! why more people don't memorize the fretboard. – it's hard! it seems impossible! it'll come with time! memorizing 24 frets across 6 strings is not the easiest thing in the world. and most guitarists only ever master it after 1000s of hours on the guitar. using these, absolute beginners have memorized the fretboard in less than 24 hours. some even in as little as 5 hours! simple! this will take the layout of the fretboard right to the brain – without any sort of blunt memorization. – with over 700 5-star reviews, this book has helped over 39,000 guitarists shorten their learning time and gain the skill of the guitar gods – in under 24 hours! and it costs less than a pack of strings! so, scroll up and click 'buy now' to gain the unfair advantage of the pros in under 24 hours!
