I really wanted to love this kit as it was given to me as a Christmas gift by my thoughtful son. Overall, this is a good, beginner's kit. However, there are a few issues… 1) The neck cradle does not offer much stability. If you're not careful, it is easy to knock the neck off of the cradle. 2) The guitar mat is small and thin. 3) The paper fret guards (for polishing the frets) will not stand up to repeated use. 4) The kit did not include an applicator for the anti-friction lubricant. 5) The string cutter is stiff and difficult to use. I ended up purchasing a TPE Yoga mat to use as a guitar mat. This provides tons of non-slip work space in a thick (1/4") material that will not react with guitar finishes,for a very reasonable price. I also bought a better quality, more stable neck cradle and a better fret polishing system with metal fret guards. Again, this is an OK kit. But, there are better options out there – especially for the relatively high price of this kit. I would recommend this kit if you're just starting out doing your own guitar maintenance. If you have some experience in guitar maintenance and setup, you will likely be disappointed in this kit.Axeman

These products worked amazingly on my smudged, filthy, abused and neglected Oscar Schmidt classical that I bought for cheap, and turned it into a shiny like-new instrument. The fretboard oil reclaimed the dull, dry wood. What was kind of an embarrassment-like who would have paid pennies for that guitar-is now something enviable and valuable. The spray bottle stuff works great. The fretboard oil will amaze you with what it can do to bring that old dried out fretboard back to showroom condition (or even better condition). The polish ("wax" type of stuff) I don't really care for too much, but I honestly don't like using any "wax" type of stuff on guitars or anything else frankly. After being disappointed with the results of a few other polishes, cleaners and oils MusicNomad was recommended, and I was astonished at the results. While it was not able to remove some of the yellowing on my older nitro cellulose paint the polish was able to remove swirls and other light scratches that I had been used to seeing on my 24 year old Ibanez from Japan. I used the polish from the kit along with the wax sold separately and have found it much easier to keep the fingerprints and shmegma that accumulates off the guitars. The F-One oil is amazing and stays around for a long time without the greasy feeling. The spray wax is best for maintenance after playing. A light mist on the great microfiber cloth and any hints of the last session are wiped away. I used the polish on the finish, but I also used it on the frets, lightly and they were even more smooth than they were, and they had just been polished via 2 ways, with fret eraser and #0000 steel wool. The premium kit comes with everything you need to keep the shine up on your guitars. I will not hesitate to buy another entire kit when I need to. Buy with confidence from Music Nomad care. I bought a used acoustic guitar for my son to learn on. I didn't realize exactly how much grime was on this guitar until I used this system. I wasn't happy with other methods of cleaning this guitar. It just didn't shine when I was done. I tried this and it looks brand new! The cloths were filthy when I was done. No wonder it didn't shine with other methods of cleaning. I bought this kit to clean up a demo model acoustic bass that I just bought. The finish had been slightly worn in several spots and the neck was very dirty. This kit easily did the job. After a couple hours of buffing and scrubbing, my bass seriously looks brand new. I did have to apply a couple coats of the wax, but the finish looks flawless now. Most impressively, however, is how nice the fretboard looks after applying the conditioner. The other products are great as well; although, I haven't tried the string cleaner yet. So, I purchased this because I need a nice kit for setup. one thing to know is several items dont work for bass. Also all of the items are pretty cheap. In retrospect I should have gone online and purchased a leather bag and individually purchased the items needed to setup a bass or guitar. The flashlight is cheap, the screwdriver is bottom of the rung. The clippers are cool, they are spring loaded but also poor quality (doesn't want to click light gauge strings towards the tip. The multitool doesn't open well and it super cheap quality. It wouldn't even fit into the truss hole and it was the wrong size for my Ibanez… If it was the right size, I couldn't get it to work… so there's that. the best feature is the zip case. its the most well made part of the whole deal. very disappointing.SamuelPlayzon

Removes buildup from crevices to restore tone, clarity and original intonation. this product is great on fingerboards to remove heavy grim and dirt to restore a clean and natural fretboard. personally, i always use this and the fingerboard deep cleaner 02 on fretboards that need extreme cleaner. the 01 does great at cleaning but i feel it dries out the wood so use the 02 to restore natural oils for overall protection.

The image shown is the older bottle that had a flat tip and porous felt that you rubbed directly on the fingerboard. This is a spray bottle. It leaked quite a bit during shipping, but it seems Musicians Friend knows that because they put it into a plastic bag. The label is coming off right out of the box since it got wet, and the stuff is semi-dangerous to handle. Not a great experience. The stuff works, though.Dave
Was hoping for the best when this was purchased, but this kit is just ok, nothing special. The neck cleaner worked pretty well, but not as well as naptha, and the conditioner didn't work as well as I had hoped, either. Have been using Luthier's Choice, from Gibson, but I have to buy polish, conditioner, and string cleaner as a set. I have enough of the conditioner to last 10 lifetimes now, so was looking for something I could buy when I needed it and not have to fill a cabinet with unused stuff. I'll stick with Luthier's Choice for the time being and give all my friends the spare conditioner for Christmas, I guess. Doubt I'll use the Dunlop kit again. I tried the Dunlop string cleaner as well. Don't care for it much. Smells like gasoline and doesn't work as well as the Gibson product, in my opinion. I'll keep looking.OlRokr
I bought this product to clean the fretaboards of my Fender Jag and Martin D-41. After the first use I can already tell that I am going to keep a bottle of this in my arsenal at all times. To my eyes the fretboards just appeared a little dusty but once I used this I was actually amazed by how much grime it was pulling off. To me, that speaks great things about the quality of this product. Anyone like me who believes a guitar should look as good as it sounds needs to use this!MB

After being skeptical about the players kit since release I though I'd give it a try. since it's not cheap I have waited and saved up to try it out The item came in good time and I was eager to get it onto my guitars. I read all instructions twice and thought I get started on tiny sketches on a newer guitar Used the product and nothing, absolutely no changes the guitar got a clean but the tiny scratches were still there and visible Then I used it on larger scratches and absolutely nothing, on black surfaces.. Still nothing Waited few days and gave it another try and still absolutely no scratches were being removed I used car wax at fraction of the price which did a better job. So in conclusion I would not recommend players kit to anybody it's definitely a no Brainer Better off buying car wax for better results I'll give it a 0 out of 10mikyb676
I choose this product to take some scratches and scuffs out of my gloss black congas. The two major scuffs were deep enough to easily feel them by running my thumbnail across them. Black is a difficult color to polish out, but a couple of rounds of #2 followed by #1 to get the glassy shine back did the job. I wish I'd taken before and after pictures, because this stuff restored my drums to like-new condition. Yeah, it takes some strength (rubbing gently will not do it with a polyurethane finish… you gotta dig in), but it was worth the time I put into it (about half an hour actually) to see those conga shells shine like mirrors. I bought a used guitar on a well known Guitar website , it was supposed to be in excellent condition but arrived with a bunch of scratches and swirls on the top part of the body . I immediately bought this stuff even though its pricey at $30. I read the instructions and applied this stuff a few times(probably 4 or 5 times) , it reduced / diminished the look of the scratches but there are still many . If anything all the scratches are still there just slightly less visible. Note theres lots of glare on the guitar being that's its glossy and the scratches are only visible under the light . I'm glad it was able to reduce the appearance but disappointed it could not remove them.. they're basically all still there. Here's a before and after. I imagine this would work better and darker guitars . A bit disappointed especially being that's ita expensive for the quantity you receive.guitarstuff1

Seems to do the job as the colour of the cloth after you wipe it down suggests. Not a massive fan of the smell personally. Nice little tin to store it in and should last a long time. The cloth provided does fray and leave little bits on the strings every now and then. I expect the cloth won’t last as long as the main product. Not sure yet how much it lengthens the life of strings and whether it pays for itself through that (I expect not) but it’s nice to know that the strings are being maintained.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
I've been using fast Fret for as long as I can remember. A quick wipe after every gig and the strings soud better and last a lot longer. Before I started using it I would break a string maybe every gig (and always had to have a spare guitar ready) but once I started using Fast Fret I was getting more like 6 gigs out of a set of strings. So it pays for itself quite quickly, and lasts a very long time. It is worth noting though, that it is essentially just mineral oil and is not really magic formula. You can buy mineral oil cheaply on eBay (search for chopping board oil) and that's the same stuff. But what makes Fast Fret worth it is the applicator – it prevents you from putting too much on and having a load to wipe off again. It also helps look after your fretboard too, as most lemon oil fingerboard cleaners/conditioners are just made of mineral oil too – there are no lemons in lemon oil 🙂 Anyway, I would recommend it – buy with confidence! I have been using Fast-Fret for decades on ALL of my stringed instruments and it is the ONLY string treatment I will use. I have found that applying Fast-Fret after EVERY use of my guitars, banjos and mandolin can prolong string life for more than twelve months. As an experiment some years ago, I left a set of Fast-Fret maintained stings on one of my guitars to see how long they would remain in good playable condition, and they lasted for more than three years. I'm not saying strings should be kept on an instrument that long as the wire will become tired and lose brightness and tone over time, even when kept clean and corrosion free. But I regularly keep strings on instruments for up to 12 months because Fast-Fret can extend string life for a very long time… If applied thoroughly and religiously to your strings after using your instrument. Experience has taught us that Corrosion and dirt are the enemies of metal strings. This because, the oily salts & acid from contact with fingers and hands is the Number One cause of Premature String Death. Finally, I have to say I love the new design of Fast-Fret. It's new plastic end cap and metal can packaging significantly extends the life of the product.Groovintheblues

Great deal for anything from Chromacast. The cloth and the polish are very nice. the cloth is soft and absorbent and leaves no streaks when used with the polish. The polish leaves the surface of my guitars shining. I have not yet used the string lubricant but if it as good as the polish I know I will be satisfied.
