Don't buy this amp expecting to gig with it at anything more than very low volume levels. Matched with sensitive speakers and master volume set at full, you might be happy with the volume you can get with maybe an acoustic set. The BAM 200 would be fine for practicing and jamming with a friend in the basement, but add drums and an amped guitarist and I think you will struggle to be heard. It's output sounds closer to 30 or 40 watts RMS, rather than the mystery 200 watts TC Electronics rates this mini. Tone was OK, a little fat if you over do the bass control and the preamp sections seems to overload easily, even with low output basses. I really don't have a good use for it after buying it, but it is easy to transport!airtow
The perfect no frills small unit. Haven't really road tested due to virus shutdowns but home bound sound is fantastic. I originally bought for a backup type amp but am quickly becoming enamored by its tonal qualities. Over the past few years I have been trying to reduce my equipment footprint and lugging around effort. I have another TC Electronics amp (BH250) along with a 2×12 cab and a 2×10 cab. These have been fantastic in small and medium venues – larger venues all seem to have their own sound systems which tap into my setup. Now, with the addition of this unit, I can even run my Rickenbacker in stereo without breaking my back hauling around a lot of equipment. The sound coming out of the BAM is smooth and even. It can get very very thin or very very fat and everything in between controls are solid and even. The only thing I would say that might be missing is an 'auxiliary in' but that can be side stepped with a small mixer. All in all a great buy for a very big sounding little D amp that can almost fit in a jacket pocket.2991tom

Really impressed with this small amp/cab combo. Truly great, vintage tube-like warmth, punching lows and crisp highs are all accessible. The headphone output is super useful for practice. The 2×10 cabinet this amp is paired with sounds really awesome for home recording, small gigs (50ish people) and if mic'd, can adapt well for larger gigs. Without an extra 12" or 15" paired with it, it just can't handle the lows at a high volume. I do like running it through an SVT 4×10 for larger gigs to save the trouble of carrying around an 80lb SVT head!Bandy Xan
I've owned this amp for about 5 months now and it is perfect for small venues, church, and recording. I haven't really needed to use the speaker cab much as I mainly use in ears for live performances, but it is nice to have just in case and so the rig looks complete. The XLR out from the head is a great feature and one of the big reasons I purchased this and allows for a crisp sound to whatever you may be plugging in to. I have used this for live performances and recording for backing (split) tracks. You can get any sound out of this little guy and it never disappoints. Don't be fooled by the small size, it can sound massive with the right settings and EQ. The small size allows me to fit all my gear in the back of a small hatchback car. I researched this greatly before purchasing it and do not have any regrets. If i need more volume for situations that in ears won't allow, I may purchase a second matching speaker cab and I am sure that would be plenty for whatever situation. I would definitely recommend to any bass player looking for a professional quality amp that is portable and versatile.DPB
Bought this as an Open Box item from MF. Researched and read many positive reviews. Took the dive and got it. Was a little worried it wasnt going to be powerful enough. Wrong… this little sucker has got PLENTY of power for what I'm using it for: home practice and loud weekend jams with my bandmates. Currently pairing with a Peavey Tour 210 cab. I was a bit skeptical when I purchased but due to all the positive reviews I was swayed. I have had this amp for around a month now and I am amazed at how many different types of sounds I can get out of the EQ section. With the drive you can get massive dirt, crunchy sound, all the way to that "Marcus Miller" type sound. I use a Fender American Deluxe Jazz 5 with this set-up. I have been using this head with a Fender Rumble V3 1x 15 and an Ampeg bxt 4×10. Super warm, round sound all the way to biting rock tones. I also have a Fender Rumble V3 500 watt amp and the quality of this Aguilar is better. I can also get very pleasing sounds out of the Rumble amp as well though. I also play an Eden WT 800 and sometimes it's just to clinical sounding. The Eden is nice but over priced. I think if your budget is limited go for the Fender Rumble V3 500, but if you can pony up more money, go for the Aguilar. My only 2 complaints would be the need to purchase a case separately and the fact that there isn't an aux input. Other than that, I have really taken to the clarity , punch and tone of this little sucker. Mostly I play R & B, funk, gospel, Jazz, and some rock. At first I had trouble finding a way to get "my sound" which tends to lean towards that fat Marcus Miller sound, but I had to learn how to use the EQ a bit. Took some time to figure out but now I LOVE IT! This amp really has tons of power and sounds louder than 500 watts to be sure. I am satisfied with my purchase. If you have never owned a class D amp, I highly suggest paying attention to this review. I bought this amp solely on reviews as none were available in the local GC. If you DO NOT like to FEEL the sound of your bass…then this amp is for you. This amp lacks GIRTH! It is weak and feeble. I bought this amp to take place of my older Ampeg B2R. My ampeg is not even a higher dollar SVT series head…just a B2R and it wipes the floor with this measly class D amp. I highly suggest you not waste your money like I did…..I am extremely disappointed in this amp (It's going back) and the reviews it gets cause these class D amps are weak…go ahead and try one head to head and you will see a BIG difference. I will not sacrifice tone for weight and if you heard them next to each other you would not either. Keep shopping! Better yet, demand companies stop selling these class D junk amps…..the weight is not worth the tone. I now see why so many reviews show little to no EQ adjustment on this amp ( usually reviewing flat)….cause it don't have much to speak of. Little bottom end and lacks high end. The Drive knob goes from not enough to too much …no sweet spot and not very practical sound-wise….just a gimmick in my opinion. Do not let others persuade you into believing this amp or even the 500 watt version is loud because it has NO headroom what-so-ever! Sound: If you're coming in looking for a distinctive amp character sound… this ain't it. This is for clean headroom that allows you to sculpt your sound with pedals if you need to or with modeling… or for seriously hearing what your bass actually sounds like. For me personally, I've really come to enjoy it (and I lusted after the SVT grit sound forever) and I can't believe this does good of a job for the price. Features: The power section on this is just unreal – I'm sure the wattage measure for volume is probably a little relative (then again, so is 1-10 or 11, right?), but I don't ever take it much over the "40W" marker going into a 2 x 12 cab (yeah, you read that right) and I've never had a problem keeping up with two guitarists and a drummer, either on stage or in our practice space. The EQ is a little weird if you're coming from a low/mid/high setup like just about every piece of equipment out there has, but it honestly ends up being more intuitive for adjusting to a room or different bass in front of it. I took a gamble on the line out, which I understand isn't "true DI" in the sense that it isn't an independent signal from the rest of the amp (so if you mess with EQ or volume, your FOH has to adjust on their end), but in the end I ended up pairing this with an MXR Bass DI+ for a FOH signal and to get another distortion sound, so it sort of renders that point moot. I also wish they'd put 2 Speakon jacks instead of 1 Speakon and 2 1/4" outs, but not the end of the world for me. Ease of Use: I think the biggest learning curve on this is the EQ, but as I mentioned, once you understand it, it makes much more sense than your standard 3-band. Quality: For as light as it is, it feels like a tank! The only thing I'd even be a little nervous about is the small mute switch – which just feels light because, well, it's a tiny plastic switch that you just tap, no need for a big ol' mechanical clunker, right? And as silly as it seems, just the basic case is still a great touch. Value: I was very much on the fence between this and the Mesa/Boogie Subway series, and I think if they had been the same price (and both available from zZounds with pay as you play) I would have probably ended up going with the Mesa ONLY because of the name… but I don't at all regret going with this instead. It's done everything I've asked of it. Manufacturer Support: Haven't had to deal with them directly but a big reason I purchased was that it seems like they're extremely good about direct support (including from Pat himself!) The Wow Factor: Would this blow me away as a gotta-have if I had the funds and the means? I mean, tonally, no – alone, it's not tickling my ears, but it does rumble the rump in a rather pleasing way (hey, this is a safe space, don't judge my kinks.) But as someone who needed (fine, WANTED) a physically-smaller bass amp that did the job so I could keep spending my money on rebuilding crappy guitars instead, this 100% does the trick. Overall: I'm not a bassist, I'm a guitarist who just plays one on stage. One of my favorite amps and amp concepts was the Crate Powerblock (which I still use as a travel/audition amp sometimes) – and the Bass Block is what happens if you make the Powerblock 1000 times better an at least 5.33333333 times louder (that's science, baby, I wouldn't lie to you.) Simply put – if you want stellar, clean power that you can put just about anything in front of but also carry around IN A BACKPACK, this is where it's at.Matthew
This amp is a real winner. The power, as with many Class D amps isn't quite as much as the stated wattage, but it is loud and punchy. The amount of grind and kick may seem restrained because I am playing an upright, though I did test her with one of my 5 string electrics with a larger speaker cabinet, and I ran more pre gain on that run. With the upright, all knobs are at 12 0'clock, because uprights love flat sound waves. It is set up to do a great job as a double threat if I ever go back to gigs that require both upright and electric. She's gigged with me a few times and seems to have an intuitive set up with the Active and Passive inputs, Mute button, and the Depth and Contour knobs. I enjoy playing around with my electric because in conjunction with the throttling up or down of Master Volume vs. Gain and varying EQ via Depth and Contour knobs allows for a lot of very handy tone colouring.bill
I have a mixed review. I originally bought this amp because of the great reputation QSC products have had over the years under Pat Quilter's leadership – well-designed, highly-regarded products at a reasonable price, especially in the amplifier category. In the months I've used the Bass Block, it's been reliable and works without strain when I connect two cabinets, one at 4 Ohm and one at 8. That's a load of at least 2.67 Ohm, which is impressive. It never heats up, never shuts down. Bottom line: this amp has been bulletproof. The amp is light – about 15 pounds lighter than the class AB amp Eden Highwayman 500 I'd been using. Before purchasing, I spoke with Pat at the Quilter booth at the 2019 NAMM Show. He explained the tone controls, which are quite different than the usual 4-band passive or semi-parametrics you find on other units. In over 20 gigs with a number of different cab configurations with and without horn tweeters, and both active and passive basses, it has been a challenge to get the tone I need from this amp – it seems skewed toward a bassy/midrangey tone with no ability to juice up the treble. (I play classic rock in a club band, use my fingers mostly, and a pick on a few tunes) For example, when I play my Rick 4003, I can only get that clanky Rick tone if I bypass the amp's preamp section and use an outboard preamp that has more traditional tone controls. With that said, the roundish tones I can get from this unit are good; I'm just disappointed that either the unit is unable to provide the treble definition I want, or I'm unable to figure out how to get it with this amp. On the industrial design side: the amp chassis feels one step from finished – sharp folded edges stick out (versus, say, the smooth packaging you find in a GK or Genzler head.) From a marketing perspective, I wouldn't have applied the graphic of a caution sign (red stripes) to the top of the amp, and the word "block" in the product name, think "verb.Countbassy

I purchased This Gnome for my 110 Custom SSB studio cab to help keep the load light, I love it! It has a smaller footprint than my Stomplab2b and has more than enough headroom. The cab is loaded with an eminence b102 8 ohm. So I'm getting about 120watts from it and it's plenty to jam at home with or in a Practice Session/studio time.Isaac

Took this to the open mic that I host weekly, with lots of power drummers and fairly loud guitarists. I kept turning the thing down! I was using a 115 cab (8 ohms) that used to be a combo amp and I had to add a little high end to make it pop, but at home, with a Genz-Benz XB410T cab (4 ohms) I had everything pretty much flat and it was stunningly loud and clean and punchy. At the show, I barely had it on in the PA except for enough lows to mesh with the kick drum in the subs. Direct output was clean. Been playing bass for 44 years and this is probably the best bass head I've ever had, including 4 different Ampegs, and a G-B 600 that blew all the Ampegs away. My only complaint is that the illuminated ring on the master volume knob makes it hard to see the dot that shows where the volume actually is, but I can fix that with a piece of tape or something. My main drummer said the bass was kicking tonight! I'm very pleased so far.Fred
The Bugera bv1001 M has a nice punch to it and lots of clean power. The amp has nice highs and mid selection knob works well with my bass cabinet. And yes it has plenty of low end bass. I replaced a europower 2400 and bass V preamp with this head and I am impressed with the sound and power in such a small light package. Compressor works well also. This little work horse has it all in one handy unit. It weighs next to nothing, yet has so much packed into it. I have been using the RH-450 for roughly 5 years now and I couldn't be more pleased with it's performance. I play everything from rock to country to blues to polka. I can get a great sound for any musical situation. I did a lot of research before I bought it and nothing came close to it when you consider all the available features including built in tuner, compressor, tube tone, EQ, 3 separate pre-sets, built in DI, audio input for practicing with headphones, and enough power for pretty much any gig (power 3 RS cabinets off one unit). When you add up the cost of all those extras you could buy for a conventional rig, THIS IS A STEAL! I liked it so much I bought a second one so I could keep one in the band trailer and another for home & side gigs. Wow, I already expected a great amp from using the BH250 but this monster totally impressed me. It has way more power than you would expect and the tone is awesome. From very clean and articulate to down right nasty. As much as I like GK and Markbass, TC Electronic is now my favorite. I have owned this amp for several months now and it still impresses me each time I play it at practice or on a gig. When a sound guy says it is the best DI he has heard, that is saying something. Sound: I bought the Ampeg Microvr Head originaly with one Ampeg 2-10" cabinet as a part of matched set, as most people do – about three months a later I bought another cabinet – so now I'm often running two of the same cabinets and the head together. When you plug in the second cabinet the rig gets noticeably louder in this set up, and also appears to have a much more deeper bass tone(if you want it). Adding the second cabinet added $300 to my rig – but if you can afford it, the sound is far superior to just the single cabinet, and gives you a lot of flexiblity. For smaller indoor venues like playing bass behind people with pugged in acoustic guitars, I run the head with just one cabinet and it sounds fine – both tone and volume wise. When I playing along with a drummer most of the time I opt for using two cabinets rather than just one. At higher volumes – like playing with a drummer it just sound stronger and fuller in every respect than by using just the single 2 10" cabinet. I'm either running a recent custom C.F. Martin Acoustic/ Electric Bass guitar, or a Fender Precession Bass, through the rig – depending on who and what I'm playing on music wise. It works excellent with either instrument and I am very happy with the set up. Even with just one cabinet you won't be dissapointed. Features: Happy with everything that it came with feature wise. Didn't like the stock power cord that came with because it was very stiff and hard to wind up – Ampeg should switch vendors and get a power cord supllier that could offer them a more felxible cord of the same quality that you cound wind up easier. Ease of Use: Tone controls are easy to figure out and use. Rear connections on the amp are simple, straight forward and easy to use, and hook things up. I often use a Martin acoustic bass guitar with this rig – so I use a Fishman DI preamp in between my bass and the amp – this being done basically to help control feedback at higher volumes (especially when playing out door gigs) and to fine tune the tone on the acoustic bass a bit more. My Fender bass sounds fine with out the Fishman preamp and the controls on the amp head work well with it – giving you many mutiple tone combinations depending on how you set them. Also my Fender fretless bass sounds really good through the amp and the matched speaker that you will most likely buy with the head. Quality: Quality seems very high. After about two years of owning and active giging – it is holding up extremely well. Over the last year or so I have taken it out on local gigs about twice a week, So it's been out of my house more than a hundred times so far, and there haven't been any issues so far – all this in all kinds of weather and temperatures. I had black vinyl covers made for the head (from a custom amp cover innernet company)and for both speaker cabinets as soon as I bought everything – so even aften trucking the units all over the place for quite awhile now they still all look fresh and brand new. The power cord that came with it was very stiff and always hard to roll up – so I bought an after market cord on a website cord supplier that was more flexible and easier to wind up. I've used the after market power cord every since. The head has a fan in the back that runs whever the unit is powered up, that when you first get the amp drives you crazy – because it appears to sound so loud. Truth is though while you may hear it running in your house when practing – you never do at gigs. At any gig the room and enviroment background noise easily drown it out right away – you just never hear the fan running at all. When I first got it I though something was wrong with the fan – there wasn't. Its an Ampeg thing – that is the low fan noise in a quiet background setting. Keeps everything cool inside the head – so you can certainly live with it. I got used to it after awhile and don't even notice it anymore. No one has ever commented to me anywhere about any fan noise coming from my amp. So don't think something is wrong with the fan when you first get the head. Value: The original outlay (about $600 for the head and one matching cabinet) is a bit steep compared to several other small bass amps on the market out there – but you get what you pay for I guess. Due to the price saddly – alot of bass players might not be able to buy one and will go with something cheaper out there. Before buying this I looked around for about two months at other rigs on the innernet, at music stores, and at othet musicians' bass rigs when watching them perform. This unit was replacing a Hartke Kickback 12 – which I used for about three years for the same type of smaller gigs – which is for more low volume type of dealsthat I play at – where you don't have to worry about shaking the room and making the paint peel of the walls when you hit your low E string on something like Springsteen's "Pink Cadillac". Sound: I own the Microvr amp and 2 210svtav cabs. I bought the second cab after I got the Mircovr set up. The sound sound you get from this things for the money blows anything else out their out of the water. To get the rated 200watts performance you need a 2nd cab as the load with one cab is 8 ohms at 150 watts. Light weight portability and small footprint size are a plus especially if your space chanllenged. This thing rocks. Features: This is a no frills set up. Has what you need to have great sound with a headphone jack to play practice in a low noise enviroment. Ease of Use: It has a 3 band eq section that you can dial in easy to find a sound you like. Its no svtpro 7 but for the money you will not find a better amp in its class. Quality: This amp is made solid. Mimics the old school look of the 70s svt lineup. Value: With anything you purchase you wish you could get it for less thats just the way it is. But for the money you will not find a better sounding and well made rig in this class. Really impressed with this small amp/cab combo. Truly great, vintage tube-like warmth, punching lows and crisp highs are all accessible. The headphone output is super useful for practice. The 2×10 cabinet this amp is paired with sounds really awesome for home recording, small gigs (50ish people) and if mic'd, can adapt well for larger gigs. Without an extra 12" or 15" paired with it, it just can't handle the lows at a high volume. I've owned this amp for about 5 months now and it is perfect for small venues, church, and recording. I haven't really needed to use the speaker cab much as I mainly use in ears for live performances, but it is nice to have just in case and so the rig looks complete. The XLR out from the head is a great feature and one of the big reasons I purchased this and allows for a crisp sound to whatever you may be plugging in to. I have used this for live performances and recording for backing (split) tracks. You can get any sound out of this little guy and it never disappoints. Don't be fooled by the small size, it can sound massive with the right settings and EQ. The small size allows me to fit all my gear in the back of a small hatchback car. I researched this greatly before purchasing it and do not have any regrets. If i need more volume for situations that in ears won't allow, I may purchase a second matching speaker cab and I am sure that would be plenty for whatever situation. Bought this as an Open Box item from MF. Researched and read many positive reviews. Took the dive and got it. Was a little worried it wasnt going to be powerful enough. Wrong… this little sucker has got PLENTY of power for what I'm using it for: home practice and loud weekend jams with my bandmates. Currently pairing with a Peavey Tour 210 cab. I bought this because it was on sale at a great price. Was not expecting it to sound this good, esp after reading a review somewhere that said it was a really "dry-sounding" amp. I don't find that at all. Of all the amps I have owned — Aguilar Tone Hammer, Mark Bass Big Bang, Hartke 5500, Hartke TA600, Mark Bass Little Tube, and Fender Rumble — this one has to best tone to me. When the amp was backordered I almost canceled the order but am really glad I didn't. The only amp I have that sounds better is a Hartke LH1000, which is a Class A tube amp and very very heavy. The Acoustic is a fantastic amp! Great EQ possibilities, lots of tone-shaping options. The low end is much clearer than the Aguilar Tone Hammer, which tends to distort at low frequencies. I believe this amp is way above average with any style that you play . But as far as hard rock/metal ? Its got to be the best I've ever experienced ! I've been playing since the mid eighties but I bought this head for my son . I also bought two B410C Acoustic bass cabinets to go with the B600HD head . A perfect match ! Unbelievable hard rock tone and the overdrive is awesome ! I used to use effect processors for overdrive and compression . Not with this head! The compressor does a great job and I don't see having to use anything else other than flange or some kind of delay if he chooses. Its extremely loud and you can get those cool sounds as Geezer Butler from Black Sabbath and Scott Reeder from Kyuss . You can turn overdrive off and it has great clear bass tones also with a great eq . I wasn't sure what a Notch filter was , but it does make a noticeable difference that is adjustable . Again the overdrive is so good , you wouldn't ever think about using the Tech 21 Sansamp bass driver . Sounds so much better!! Another great and puzzling thing is the price . How can it be so good and so inexpensive? I think Acoustic's marketing program is dropping the ball . More people should know about this company! Why anyone would by Ampeg or Harke is beyond me !! Acoustic blows them away !!! only con is that its so light and powerful it vibrates off the cabinet . I've got to find a solution to that . I played an outdoor event a couple weeks back and had to keep up with our drummer's thunderous stainless steel kit. No problem. Great light-weight amp with generally great features. I originally got this amp to be a backup amp for my long-time Ampeg B2R which was starting to have issues. I had to use it after the B2R failed on an outdoor show (no PA support) on a 4-ohm Fender 4×10 cab (2014) and it surprised me how well it worked. I did not suffer from the lack of power or did I hear any distortion. I played another outdoor (no PA support) show with the same combination and it worked great. Interestingly most of the time I use it for small shows with a semi-acoustic trio with a Yamaha 12" 2-Way monitor (250W RMS rated/97db SPL) and it works great. Far more power than I need but its light weight and small size makes it practical for such applications. The only issue I have with it is I wish it has a limiter or at least a power amp clip LED. Hard to know where to start on this; I will start with my search for the perfect amp head. I wanted something that married the best of both worlds, those being the warm tube sound and the reliable, powerful D amp. This hybrid is unique mostly because of its pre-amp, which consists of 4 tubes, 6 stages. & studio quality optical compression; buying a bass compression pedal was on my list, but now I have scratched it off, as the controllable compression with gain, compression, and volume functions does all that a $250 pedal will – so figure that into your costs as saved money! The EQ functionality is also incredible, esp with the 3-way adjustable midrange switch. After experimenting with all these functions, I feel I can dial in any tone I want, esp in combination with an active/passive bass with various pickup adjustments and EQ functions as well. The tone is warm and pure, and the volume is incredible. The orange glow of the unit looks awesome in darker settings. I have it connected to a Kustom 410G cab which is rated for 1000 Watts, thus I dont dare dial it past half-way – fortunately, I dont think Ill ever need to…but dont be fooled, you can turn this down using the compression to practice amp volumes while still obtaining that satisfying sound you thought only possible from a loud tube amp. I think this would be a great value at twice the price. Get it, and get the footswitch, too (I got a refurbished one for less than $20 and am very happy with it).robrwa123

This review is for the Bugera BV1001T tube preamp head. I have this head coupled with a Fender Rumble 410 v3 cabinet which makes an excellent pair. The head is compact, lightweight and looks great. I can hear the cooling fan but the noise is not excessive. The thing I’m most impressed with is the range of tones I’m able to achieve with this combination of gear. By dialing various levels preamp gain and compression (or not) I can shape my tone anyway I want. It seems to have a lot of punch as well. Additionally Adorama is great with fast shipping and no sales tax at least in WA state.Laurence

Great way to get the 5150/6505 style on a budget. Amp tones are usable as is but, I really love hitting the front end with a BOSS SD1 as a boost. Adding 10 band eq into effects loop shapes the tone even more. Sounds great through Celestion V30 and GT75 2×12. 1/4 power switch helps for home volume levels, but I still use a reactive load attenuator.Dave
Dude !! This thing is extremely loud. I play through a 100 watt Marshall TSL100 and this 80 watt head blows it away as far as power goes..I couldn't get it past 4 without it hurting my ears seriously. I returned it because of that reason. It is a very large head too..pretty good sound though and easy to use. You want loud…get this head if not get the combo but you better have a good back !Mike

You will not sound like Eddie using this amp. it is very big and did I say LOUD !? at full power I couldn't get it past 4 playing through my Marshall with VIN30s – 4×12 cabinet. for the money a good LOUD amp a bit sterile sounding playing clean..It went back though so you can decide yourself…oh it has tons of GAIN too…TONS !! almost too much reallyMike

This is a great bass amp head. I paired it with my hd112 and my ibanez 2405W. The tone that you get out of it is very clean and warm. When using the drive you can get dirty and heavy with it. The Eq let you get a lot of tonal option out of it and is pretty simple to use. The only reason I didn't give it five star was the fan is a little loud when it comes on. but it this issue it is still a very good amp to have.Vic

I purchased This Gnome for my 110 Custom SSB studio cab to help keep the load light, I love it! It has a smaller footprint than my Stomplab2b and has more than enough headroom. The cab is loaded with an eminence b102 8 ohm. So I'm getting about 120watts from it and it's plenty to jam at home with or in a Practice Session/studio time.Isaac
Just been using it in my house. I have a Hardke Hy-Drive 12 inch cab and it sounds great.I have not played with a drummer yet so I cant say how it holds up to gig levels of sound. It feels like it will be fine. I bought it mainly to go direct to computer and to have a small amp for portability. I wish these were available back in the eighties when I turned pro. All the heavy gear back then was such a pain to load at 3:00AM. I dig it!!MThomas

The cleans on this amp are beautiful, which is crazy for just one volume and a presents knob. I like to use my UA Ox Box with this so I can crank the clean channel to 11 and get that pure tube distortion. Speaking of distortion, the dirt channel is where this baby really shines. Hard to explain, like a JCM 800 and a plexi had a baby, and that’s just first gear on this channel, hit the switch and WOW. You have to try this amp out. You will fall in love with it.
I accidentally ordered this amp instead of the 50 watt as originally intended. I discovered the mistake only after it shipped. I intended to exchange it for the 50 Watt at my local Guitar Center. A few days later it arrived at my doorstep and I decided what the heck, I would take it for a test drive. I'm absolutely blown away by this little 20 watt and have decided to keep it. I'm pushing a Friedman vintage 412 cabinet with ease. This small amp is portable, lightweight, extremely feature friendly and has a huge variety of tone. This 20 watt amp can push my 412 cabinet with adequate stage volume with ease. I use a combination of 412 cabinets along with another EVH 5150 amp via ABY switch and will often bounce between the 2 half stacks. I've had numerous Fender Marshall and other Boutique setups in my 45 years of playing but never a Friedman setup until now. The Friedman lineup seems to be popular for a reason. I'm absolutely blown away by this little Powerhouse amp. It's also at a very friendly price tag for what you get. Lots of tone in this little guy. Best distortion circuit on the market as far as I’m aware. Comes with compression/cabsim too. The six band EQ makes it so much easier to tweak your sound. in my opinion every tool the modern bassist needs. After using a mesa boogie carbine amp head and having it fail on me too many times, I switched to the alpha omega 900 and I'm loving it. Have taken it on tour and it paired well with every backline cabinet along the way thanks to the 2 ohm switch which cuts the power in half. The cab simulator on the post di xlr out is awesome, great live and for recording. The graphic eq, compression and drive circuits make it easy to dial any sound pretty much. My only disappointment was in the footswitch. When you switch the distortion on the pedal there is a noticeable gap of silence in the switching. Not sure if this happens when switching via midi. Hopefully there is an update that fixes this down the line, as I'm sure many buyers will want to use the included footswitch. I have been using an external overdrive in the effects loop, and it's the best sounding effects loop I've heard. Overall I'm satisfied.

Blown away by what this amp can do, i use to have 4 pedals on my board and that has now been reduced to 1 tuner pedal and the super intelligent footswitch that works woth this amp! Recording is a breeze with this too, instant good full bass recordings without much config at all, this is made even better with the addition of 3 changable IR cab responses. So, I've been playing on my Hartke for quite some time, it's heavy, it's cumbersome, put it in a 19" rack. Bottomline, it's not doing my back any favours. Been looking to downsize my stack for a while now and since I already had and was very pleased with the Darkglass B3K stombox, my interest went out to Darkglass for choosing a smaller amp. The Microtubes 500v2 has the B3K and VMT effects build in, so this means les cables, less powersockets… It's really light, it's small, it's convenient, and the sound…. damn what a sound. I play in two metalbands and the distorted bass is just so fantastic, LOVE it!! Would recommend to any bassplayer in a metalband.

I can’t say enough positive things about this amp. Starting with the sleek look, the small size of this amp is super convenient. I live in NYC so I travel by foot/train with the amp a lot and it’s nice to not have to lug around a 50 pound amp. The beautiful thing is that no power and no sound is sacrificed by the size of this amp. I play in a technical death metal band tuned to G# and this thing produces those low notes extremely well. After 5 years and hundreds of bar gigs together my trusty Rumble 500 head started acting up. I would turn it on and nothing, unless I popped a string, then it would pop on and pretty much stay on so I still gigged with it but in the world of GAS this is more than enough reason to get a new amp. Am I wrong? So I sold my backup rig which was a 77 Ampeg V4 and set out both TB and YouTube on the dreaded amp comparison ride. At the end, I was about to buy a Mesa Boogie WD-800 but then some reviews of the EBS Reidmar 750 swayed me at the last minute. I ended up returning that amp right away, out of the box the power light worked in the morning trial but was non working at the evening trial. That and I could not get a sound out of it that I liked. It also felt like the master volume pot had an unusual audio taper to it so it was too loud at 2! Also the on board compressor was a bit weak to me. Im sure its a great amp as many have said but not for me. So the search continued and I ended up on an unlikely choice. Unlikely in that if you told me I was going to be all giggly about how awesome my new PEAVEY bass amp was I would have maybe been a little disappointed as I have just a trace amount of brand snobbery. I played through a Demeter prior to the Rumble, Ill have you know! Snort..Snort So I ended up getting the MiniMega. Just from last nights show alone Im sold and in love with this beefy little gem. I went straight from the PO to the gig and just plugged it in, did minimal EQing and loved it from start to finish. The on board compressor works very well and seems to be designed to affect the highs more than the lows which is really nice, seems to be weighted just right for bass. I play American Standard Ps only for the record. Today I played with it at home and its really about perfect for what I do (rock cover bands) and is so flexible I cant imagine a situation where it wouldnt fully deliver. The EQ is super powerful but with the right frequencies so theres a wide variety of GOOD sounds. . Ive had very powerful eqs on amps before but they gave me a huge array of not so great or just so so sounds. Im sure many of you know what Im talking about. The KOSMOS knobs are cool too. The outer is a sub harmonic synth and the inner one I would describe as make my neck sound like a stand up knob. Probably not what Im going to find in the manual if I ever look but thats what it sounds like to me. Very cool indeed. Seriously, I turn the knob and my neck gets extra woody sounding, like an upright. Im not kidding about there being a lot of cool and useful tones in this thing. The extra power over the Rumble 500 was noticeable and nice. Then the guitar player chimed in on the first break, dude, that amp blows your old one away by far! I would highly recommend you try one of these if you are shopping for that perfect all around bass head. You can always return it if you dont like it but youll likely be blown away like me. The one I purchased was discounted as B-Stock but I cant find anything sideways on it at all. Purchased it from ebay seller proaudiostar. Value wise I would easily say it'srileyboyjim
From the start, the packaging is very attractive when it arrives. Head comes with a hand bag style carrying case, which is a nice bonus. Form factor is nice and compact and weight is at 7-10 lbs at most. This unit is perfect for easy travel. Sound wise, this head is clean and powerful. The lows can be a bit overbearing and when you dial it back to tame, it seems the taper off and thin out a little too soon so it can be hard to dial in the sweet spot at times. I found it best to dial in with the punch button disengaged. If you have a bass with an active EQ, this slight issue can be resolved much more easier. Otherwise, this amp has a wide range of tones and is well worth the price of admission. The Kosmos feature is cool but was not useful for my primary purposes of playing live. It was cool to hook up via D.I. to my interface, jam on my 7" computer monitors and shake the house!Henry

Sound: The clean channel is basically a low overdrive channel. Which is fine by me since I never use this amp for clean tones. The number 2 "classic" overdrive is really the best gain you can get for the price. I'm a firm believer in amp over pedals when it comes to distortion and this amp definitely delivers some serious distortion. Very good tribute to the old dime amps. Channel 3 is more suited to the newer "core" sound. It's my low channel for when I want to practice and not blow the windows off but if I turned it up it would rip paint off with the amount of gain. It's not a bad lead channel but the tone will take some time to match up if you tend to switch a lot. All in all, it's not an RH100 but it's not at all a bad amp. Especially for the price. Features: The built in noise gate is crap but it does help. The reverb has a tendency to over saturate and leave this annoying hum if you have it too high. The eq isn't over responsive but it's not dead so you can shape your tone fairly easily. I got around all of these problems by adding an eq turning down the reverb and getting a cheap noise gate and now it's near perfect. Ease of Use: It's a solid state amp so it's literally plug in and play. Finding a tone is fairly easy if you don't mind taking a minute and dialing it in. Footswitches make the world go round… Nuff said… Quality: It seems well made and I take pretty good care of my stuff so it should last a while. Value: This is pretty self explanatory… Manufacturer Support: Never needed it. The Wow Factor: For the price… WOW Overall: I got this in a pinch to go with an old orange cab for my band. Probably the best quick decision I've made in a while.Juan
I have always wanted a Randall Amp but have never had the means or opportunity to purchase one until now. There are pros and cons to this amp but the props most definitely outweigh the cons. Pros Amp's 3 channels make it very easy to switch between genres of music Clean channel is very crisp and other channels have enough "punch" to knock your socks off Buttons are well organized for ease of use and user functionality Built in bass boost and mid scoop make this amp unique Cons The only problem i have found is that it sometimes requires a noise gate in the effects loop as playing at higher gain settings sometimes causes it to hum. Though this is a solid state i feel as if it competes well with higher end tube amps. Overall this is amp is definitely worth the money.Nathaniel
