Reviews:
Great little unit. Plug and play which is perfect for me. A fantastic recording tool.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
I bought one of these with the intention of purchasing more for my classroom. Once I figured out how to use it (not hard), I fell in love. The app they recommend isn't the best which made it seem harder to use initially, but there are soooo many other amazing apps that work with it (I prefer the tonebridge app since it models any song effects you can think of and is free and foolproof). Now the device is super easy to use and I love how I can toggle between sending the feed into an amp or exclusively into headphones. This will make my playing tests and recording the students a breeze, not to mention saving everyone's ears while the kids try to work out riffs or chord progressions.Dave
2. Graph Tech Acousti-Phonic Kit – Advanced
Product Details:
Get acoustic sounds from your electric – instantly! with the acousti-phonic kit and the right set of graph tech saddles for your guitar (sold separately), you'll be able to take your guitar or bass in a different direction, at just the flip of a switch! or, why not keep the sound of your magnetic pickups going full throttle, then add an acoustic flavor to really shake things up? you can switch between both or use them at the same time. whatever you do, you'll love the way your guitar just got a whole lot more versatile. the acousti-phonic kit is for the adventurous electric guitarist or bassist!
Reviews:
Graphtech has made installation of the preamp kit as easy as possible. Everything came with pin connectors attached to all of the leads and clear instructions. I was using a different output jack than the one that came with the kit, and their instructions covered that change as well. All that was left was connecting the mag pickup volume output to the Acousti-phonic lead and that was that. Just make sure you have room in your control cavity for all of the wires. As you can see in the attached photo. Mine was a tight squeeze.John D.
I rebuilt an Epi Dot installing this system, I run my acoustic sounds out to an acoustic preamp and my electric sounds out to my guitar amp, and it's very very cool. Finally got the guitar sound in my head. If your a strummer like me and an acoustic alone don't do it for you, and neither does an electric, get a semi hollow and install one of these. You'll love it. Put your electric guitar amp on one side of the drums and your acoustic amp on the other and take over the whole rhythm section. Very cool switching between acoustic electric and both. The mid dark switch almost sounds like a phase switch.nobody special
Excellent isn't the word for the ghost system far better. Thanksld212666

Reviews:
I've installed this on my Washburn D26 (Solid Cedar Top with Laminated Koa Back and Sides) which has always been loud, but a bit boxy sounding. The installation was relatively simple and quick (A few minutes including loosening and retuning strings). It's a nice snug fit. I could immediately tell that the sound had improved. Notes really are more defined, clear, and have better sustain. The general timber seems to have also warmed as the guitar is now a bit more bassy and balanced even though the high strings seem brighter, yet fuller, too. Interesting thing, and I don't know if this is good or bad, it is almost impossible to overdrive the sound. No matter how hard I strum (with a medium-hard pick) there is a "volume ceiling." Where before, hitting the volume ceiling meant putting out a very harsh sound, now even with hard strumming, the guitar sounds as if it has been tamed a bit. Picking individual notes also produces a clearer tone. The only possible downside: I am a bit concerned about the material potentially damaging the finish and wood around the hole. As I will probably never remove the O-Port on this particular guitar, I'll never notice if any damage has occurred. It's also my beater, so who cares. I can't see myself installing one of these and taking the chance on my Taylor 815 or my Larrivee L9 – besides they don't need any help in the sound department anyway. In addition, I can't tell if there has been any effect on the plugged-in sound. Feedback, tone, sustain, etc. seem the same. Finally, my buddy put one on his Gibson Songwriter, but I don't think it's had similar effects. His guitar has definitely gotten quieter and is not the boomy and bassy guitar it once was. While the volume suppression has also taken place in his Gibson, it has done so much more significantly. Don't get me wrong, it still sounds great with the O-Port, but it has an entirely different personality. What was once a throaty guitar with strong attack, is now more of a crooner. He loves it. Me, not as much. A previous review had mentioned something about the O-Port having more positive effects on lower end guitars and not so much with the higher end ones. Maybe this is what he was talking about?mclarkin
Bought one of these this morning at my local GC (Towson, MD), installed it, and got me a really nice increase in volume before feedback. –To my ears, it sounds like this thing reduces the Woofie low frequencies. As a result, the non amplified acoustic sound has a bit less low end "thump." However, this reduction of low frequencies makes the overall tone a bit more sharp, more clear. It did NOT make the acoustic output louder, or at least it's not noticeable to me. –Because the woofie lows are attenuated I actually am able to CRANK UP the lows and the overall level on the LoudBox Mini amp without the usual howling feedback. I know that this sounds like a contradiction, but it works!Mark
I installed the O Port on my PRS Acoustic in February. As cheap as it is, I thought, I'll give it a shot. Install was easy and I did notice a bit of change in volume – Cool. Fast forward to late June – I needed to remove it to get to my electronics inside the body and slowly and easily started trying to remove it and noticed I was getting a little tear on the rim, or lip, where it flips up and over and hugs outside of your sound hole. So I tried to be even more gentle, but all of a sudden it just ripped right up the side. Maybe the plastic got brittle over the last 6 months. Anyway, I'm not crying over it, since it wasn't expensive to start with…. I suppose I could try to glue or tape it back together, but it wasn't a huge game changer, so will forgo any attempt at fixing. Will be adding it to the recycling bin 🙂 … Hopefully others will have a better experiencesfmattie

Real sound , no Frills just the Guitars original tone .savmandundee
Hands down! The best sound for an acoustic. I was looking for something that I could hear each string with the same balance. And this pickup was perfect! You dont hear more of one string or less of one. Every string has the same volume and tone. And in the clean channel with no eq, it has natural low end!performanceautoglassandtint
This pickup works great. It's easy to install yourself if you're brave. It took me about an hour. I recommend several pieces of tape over the end pin hole before you drill the guitar, this helps prevent chipping the finish, I also recommend access to a good belt sander to get the bridge sanded down just right to compensate for the pickup underneath it. I use this pickup with an LR Baggs ParaDI and I always get a great sound with them.ToddAllenHooper

This enhances the Graphtech Ghost bridge I installed. Installation was relatively simple since all the wiring is modular and plugs into the pre amp. Minimal soldering was required for the jack and switches. There are a lot of wires so the electronic cavity in my guitar is full but I did not have to enlarge it or modify the cavity.Martin
Absolutely the best acoustic guitar sound from any electric guitar hands down. I've tried and owned aftermarket piezo systems and OEM piezo equipped guitars, the ghost just has that nature sound. It reacts like a "plugged in" acoustic guitar. Soft passages are smooth and even, all the strings have equal output, something the other systems did not have. Step into it and the Ghost just gets dynamic, no piezo "quack" or unnatural thin, sharp distorted tones. Add the fact that string breakage becomes a thing of the past, will pay for its self inside a couple of months. Once you've been able to play a cool acoustic intro, then light into the electric chorus, you'll never go back!Anonymous
6. Tc Electronic Bodyrez Acoustic Pickup Enhancer
Product Details:
This is the tc electronic bodyrez acoustic pickup enhancer. it adds a significant amount of bass and "body" resonance to acoustic guitars when they are plugged in with their electric pickups. the challenge with electric-acoustics has always been that you lose a significant amount of bass and resonance when you choose to plug it in versus mic'ing it like you would a standard acoustic guitar setup. this pedal adds back those missing frequencies in the simplest way possible. one knob, tune it to taste and you sound amazing again.

Reviews:
Guitars used: A Martin with minimal electronics, the tone does nothing. Another with LR Baggs more of everything. I have an EQ pedal an Compressor on my acoustic board to begin with. I was interested to see if this pedal basically did the same thing. After switching on and off comparisons I ended up keeping the Rez and taking off my EQ pedal. I could not duplicate what the Rez does with my EQ and Comp pedals. I did back my compressor way down to very light. I could have done without it but I like it. The Rez does kill feedback nicely even when I was sitting directly in front of my amp doing the tests. I got feedback with the pedals when pushing the bass and mids trying to match it but none with the Rez. After running through a bunch of my songs I really liked the new sound and picking dynamics. If you are not a pedal person this is the only pedal you will need at gigs and open mics. It does come with a 9v power supply. Nothing for instructions. It has one dial you turn it till you like it.AZ PICKER
I play a Taylor, and even the Expression System can use some help when you are in a live situation, playing through a PA. Many of the other "preamp" type options out there are great, but cost 200 – 300. This box warms up the sound, adds some compression, and just sounds fantastic! Dead simple to use, as it has one adjustment knob. Footswitch turns the unit off/on, but with a hold can mute the signal for guitar changes. Also has the ability to switch the phase in order to get rid of low-end feedback in some situations. Bottom line, the Body Rez is just another example of the innovative folks at TC Electronics. Love this pedal, and it has earned a spot on my pedalboard!Austin Steve

Reviews:
I have spent hours trying to get sound out of this thing. I wish I knew how to get it to interface with my DAW. I can't seem to figure this out. It is very frustrating. If anyone knows how to make this thing interact with MixCraft 8, please let me know. I have yet to hear any sounds from this. I do not have a synthesizer to plug it into. I am sending it directly to my computer via midi to USB cable. I thought I would be able to connect it directly to the DAW and play the virtual instruments in there, but I just can't make it work. I have done much trouble shooting with no results. I see the lights blinking on the G2M but there are no sounds or Midi being produced on my computer. Help me if you can… I want to hear the sounds and play with this thing in my DAW! Thanks.Mike
Great for the price, it's lacking polyphony(you can only play one string at the time), but even by more expensive units that I have (Axon, Roland) that function isn't perfect. So if you are guitar soloist and love to play other instruments, this could be your answer, in this price range off course . Chromatic switch is very helpful if playing piano, accordion or any other instrument that doesn't need pitch(string) bend. I'm connected midi out into Yamaha arranger and there is very little latency. Overall, very happy with the unit.

Just plug your guitar directly (or through your favorite pedals) into the input & output directly to your interface. I use a Tascam Model 12. Fantastic clean tone….the gain did not overdrive as much as I was expecting but not an issue for me.
10. K&k Sound Fantastick
Product Details:
This amazingly sensitive under-saddle transducer was developed to transfer the maximum combination of sound elements that exist at the bridge. the real guitar sound with all its natural frequencies and resonances is being transmitted directly at the sound source, the bridge. to meet these requirements, the k&k engineers used a "super-light" construction principle. only ultra-thin material cradles the piezo-crystals, which ensures the unrestrained transfer of the wood vibrations directly to the crystals. this eliminates the need to provide electronic post-processing to improve the sound, as is the case with many other bridge pickups. design – in the fantastick classic pickup, k&k uses selected hand-matched piezo-crystals which specifically complement the mellower sound of the nylon strings. their patented "super-light" construction, along with the selected piezo material for nylon strings, are the main differences between the fantastick and other bridge pickup transducers. construction – during the development k&k discovered that when different classic guitars were tested, the high e-string always transmitted more finger-picking noise than the other strings. the solution to this problem was to fit the fantastick classic with special piezo crystal for the high e-string. this single crystal records less bass frequencies than the other crystals, so that the finger picking impact of all 6 strings is transduced equally. to balance the volumes of each string, k&k measures each crystal separately within the nano-inch range. only six crystals of exactly the same height are combined to create one fantastick.

11. Lr Baggs Eas Element Active System Pickup Preamp Volume Control Nylon
Product Details:
Unlike typical undersaddle acoustic guitar pickups that are dependent on string compression for their sound, the element was engineered to mirror the soundboard’s actual movement as you play. at the heart of the pickup, a flexible film sensor only 2 thousandths of an inch thick picks up the guitar’s most delicate nuances. tracking the motion of the top rather than a direct string attack suppresses “quack” caused by compression and unlocks the element’s unrivaled dynamic range. the pickup’s minimalist construction lessens any influence on the acoustic properties and creates an intimate coupling between the pickup and guitar for the highest fidelity possible.
Specifications:
Pickup active sensor length | 3.4" |
Pickup thickness | .038" |
Battery type | Single 9V |
Battery life | 1000 hrs. |
Reviews:
This undersaddle pickup utilizes a flexible, metal wrapped cable, rather than the hard piezo style pickup. LR Baggs claims this will not only capture the saddle/bridge tones, but will also include and amplify internal resonance due to the microphonic ability of the cable. After installing one for steel strings, and one for nylon strings, I can assure you this is completely correct! Both versions have resulted in phenominal, warm, rich, focused tones – but sharper than LR Baggs I Beam pickup. If you can install a piezo, you can install this. And if you are debating, this is the one to get!WannaBeGood
I bought this LR Baggs Element pickup because I wanted one that's specifically voiced for nylon string guitars. There are two versions of the LR Baggs Element, so this review only pertains to the nylon string version. I'm an experienced wood craftsman who's built furniture for my home use, so the installation went quite quickly and without significant complications. There are a variety of YouTube videos available which anyone can watch to assess their own capabilities before deciding to tackle the installation themselves. It should be noted that the LR Baggs warranty does NOT cover do-it-yourself installations, so give that appropriate consideration. Personally, I had no desire to double the cost of the pickup by taking it to a luthier to do the relatively minor work involved. In my case, I find that the use of an external DI box more than makes up for the fact that the LR Baggs Element has no built-in EQ controls — just a simple volume wheel to control output. Once installed in my Orpheus Valley Fiesta classical guitar, the results were outstanding. I play through a Fishman Aura Spectrum DI box and a number of the Fishman microphone images produce fantastically, rich, detailed sound. One of my nylon classical guitars has a Fishman Presys Blend pickup system installed and the LR Baggs Element sounds every bit as good at half the price. I highly recommend it to all who desire reasonably priced, straight-forward nylon string amplification without a lot of bells ad whistles.Dragon Dave
