I originally bought the A20, the chorus went function went bad. I was supposed to get a replacement A20, but I was told the store delivery truck broke down. The demo A20 was pretty beat up, so I went for the A15 since they had it in stock. Less wattage, smaller speaker, no reverb, and no output with adjustable level.. The A15 cost less, but I would have rather had a replacement A20. That said, it's not a bad amp. I will wait before I ever recommend to a friend, based on my experience with the A20.None
O.K. Boys and Girls, I'll get right to the point. If you look at the input jacks on this combo amp, you'll see that the only choice for input #2, is a 1/4" plug. That means that, unless you use a converter to go from XLR to 1/4", you can't use a normal (low impedance) mic on input #2. Input #2 is the one with the EQ section on it. So, if you want to EQ vocals with this unit, you're out of luck with the on board EQ, unless you buy an external XLR to 1/4" convertor cable or plug. Then look at the #1, XLR input. There is no EQ on that channel. You plug your mic into this input and hope for the best. Without EQ you can't tailor the sound from your mic, with this amplifier's EQ. You are stuck with whatever your mic produces, and the tonal characteristics of your voice. So, if you need to roll off some highs, or accentuate them, you can't do it on this unit with just the XLR input on this amp. You'd have to process your vocals externally to this amp, them bring them into the XLR input on this amp. It's either that, or you'd have to get an XLR to 1/4" convertor and use the input #2. Other than that, Acoustic does a great job with these all-in-one acoustic style amps. I've used one for years. They are very quick to setup, have reasonable power for small rooms, and have good tone. I'd recommend these, especially for the price. Just be aware that the limitations on this particular unit, at least partially lies in the fact that they did not put a dual use XLR/1/4" jack on channel two. The old Acoustic AG30 had dual use jacks on both channels. What were they thinking when they designed this unit: no EQ for vocals? What the heck….?TruthMan

When I ordered this amp I expected to change out the tubes for JJs because if recommendations in the reviews I read. The stock tubes in this particular amp didn't produce any rattle and also provided plenty of clarity and bass. I don't sense the need to change out the tubes. This amp has more head room than my 1×10 2013 '65 Princeton Reverb Reissue Amp and I'll say its louder. The Vox Ac10c1 doesn't have a footswitch input installed onto it, if you want to switch from reverb to gain you will have to do it by hand as youre playing. The gain is rich, its a decent factory built in, the gain effect on my 4×10 2003 Fender Concert Reverb Amp doesnt sound nearly this good, if you buy the newer Marshall 20 watt tube amp or their MG solid state series amps their gain effects have a thinner, more static sounding than gritty sound to them. Vox amps have that more lush grit sound, akin to the sound we hear in the songs Ripcord and Vegetable by Radiohead (though Thom Yorke uses a turbo rat pedal) Haven't tried the Ac10c1 with a drummer, setting the Ac10c1 on an amp stand to project the speaker upward or placing this amp on a table should work just fine. The portability and light 27 pound weight are a huge plus if you decide on taking this amp anywhere. With this amp in one hand and a guitar stand and your guitar in a case in the other hand- you will be able to comfortably enter to set up and exit to load up in single trips. I originally expected to change the amp handle out for a leather handle but this vinyl handle is pretty thick. While playing through this amp, you can really feel and hear the nuances of its tube sensitivity while strumming and if you dig in with a pick, you can go from soft to really loud. The touch sensitive dynamics have been well calibrated in this amp. Again, the only downside is the lack of a footswitch input to switch between the amps good sounding gain and so so digital (not analog spring) reverb channel, no one seems to mention this. Everyone has their own effects pedals and loopers and what they already like to use so it almost balances out. I must say I actually like the sound of the gain on this amp. Again Im glad I didnt settle for a solid state Marshall in this price range, or the latest 20 watt tube Marshall which both felt and sounded lesser quality to me. I was looking for a good sounding portable amp. Glad I ordered a Vox Ac10c1
The Ac-10not only looks the business but it has since real depth and warmth to its tone. Clean – it’s bright and has the chime you’d expect. Turn up the gain and your tone breaks up but still retains clarity. Having the gain wide open and master volume down means you can still have the saturated crunch but not disturb others . Perfect for home use but would not be out of place in a small pub gig. Takes pedals will and with a multi-fix like a GT 100, if you disable the amp sim and use like a conventional pedal board, you don’t lose any quality of the AC10’s natural tone. A masterful amp and it even smells nice with those tubes cooking.Mark R.
Ive been playing 35 years and this is probably the best all around practice amp ive ever heard. Pros- looks great, sounds very good, cleans thump and chime, distortion can wail. Its loud for its size. Seems built well. Have had no bad issues. Cons- clean isnt near as loud as w the gain cranked up. No reverb. In short if this amp was 50-100W and had reverb and an external speaker jack id never play another amp. Good job VOX.jjsrvfan

It seems that Fender makes an amp for every use, want and need, and this one satisfies on numerous levels. I'm setting up a studio in my one car garage/mancave, I've already warned my neighbors, who so far seem amenable, and I have placed a Marshal MG15 series DFX (a gift from a friend) and now this Fender Acoustasonic 40 which can get quite loud for the space involved. The Fender is, so far, strictly for practice and the fact that I can add a mic is both impressive and very handy in such a small and handy amp. I brought it home only last week and have explored several tonal settings and, having just scratched the surface, I can't wait to see what else it can do. And it is, so far, obviously perfect for small venues. So, as it happens, it seems I'm more than a bit of a Fender fan. In 2006 I bought a Fender Sunburst Stratocaster (a primary must have guitar.) and a Blues Jr. amp; and then a few years later, I added a Butterscotch Blond Telecaster (a longtime dream realized) and eventually, a Fender 200, 200W acoustic amp to complement my Taylor 614ce for in house use [all bought through Guitar Center with the help of Nick], (Neither of which have made it to the man cave. Yet.) So, do your due diligence, read the reviews, go to Guitar center and ask to try one out, and if they don't have one on site, I'm sure that, if they have a manager as good as Nick Giordano at the store in Murrieta, Ca., they will order one for your trial pleasure and you won't be sorry.Dave
The Fender Acoustasonic 40 40W 2×6.5 Acoustic Guitar Amplifier is a wonderfully portable and good sounding acoustic amp. I tested the Fender Acoustasonic 15 15W 1×6 and I thought it had a good sound but I didn't want the Chorus effect I wanted the Reverb effect and the 40 had reverb. It cost more to get the 40 over the 15 but I got the reverb, more power, and a nice tone for the price. Except for the reverb the 40 s a bare bones no frills amp and that's what I wanted. By the way It is just as portable as the 15. The quality of the amp is realized as soon as you open the box. It is well-built and quite attractive. It has a big sound for such a small package. I plugged my Taylor 714 Nylon into it and set the Amp EQ knobs flat. I adjusted the volume on the amp. The EQ knobs on the Taylor were flat with half volume. I played a bit then adjusted the EQ on the guitar. When that sounded good I flavored that tone with a bit of reverb and that was good enough to get me through the afternoon. I have other settings for different songs or environments but this was a good place to start. I plugged a microphone in and that is a separate channel that requires its own EQ. There is no balance control except your ear. It also works well when you plug in other devices for backing tracks, etc. Overall, a great amp for a reasonable price.Bart

I bought this amp based on the good print reviews and the way it sounded in you Tube reviews. I did a lot of homework and finally placed my order. I was excited when it showed up at my house and plugged my Jay Turser Les Paul copy right in. Boy, is this thing dark! I turned all the tone controls to 10. I changed the strings. I removed the covers from my pickups- that just made it dark and tinny. After three days I decided that I had to either send it back or make some changes. I took the speaker from a Squier 15 amp and installed it in the Bugera. Right away there was more life and clarity to the sound, though it still sounded tinny (because it's a speaker from a Squier 15), but it was some progress. Next I pulled tubes from a circa 1959 Curtis-Mathes console stereo and swapped them into the Bugera. Now we were getting somewhere- the overtones, the reason we use tubes, were now present and accounted for. The same console is full of Oxford speakers, which are a Jensen knockoff and well respected. I took an 8" from that and installed it in the V5. OH YEAH! Now this is a great little amp. The clean tones are super sweet, clear, full and bell-like with tons of sustain. The overdrive has a huge range of grit, and the reverb is better than any other amp I've had. So after installing a set of +/- 60 year old tubes and speaker, it sounds great. But out-of-the-box stock, I would have sent it back, no question. If you have a too-bright guitar or are willing to make upgrades, this amp is a super value. My one complaint about build quality is that the wattage selector switch is extremely touchy- it goes from .1 to 5 watts and has to be fiddled with to get it to stay on the 1 watt setting.Farmhand
This week I bought a duellist overdrive pedal from king of Tone, the Revival Drive from Origin Effects and this lovely little amp. The two pedals cost nearly £700 between them and the Bugera only £189 but my favourite tone comes from the Bugera itself largely because the built in attenuator allows you to really cook the single valves at pre amp and power amp stage without annoying the neighbours. This makes the Bugera a lot of fun. It’s tone control could be improved to raise the brightness but for the price I’m not complaining. This is definitely more of a British than an American tweed sound. And the addition of pedals – which it takes well – can potentially increase the brightness. The onboard 8 inch speaker is fine for practice and the amp is just about portable enough to use for travel. The speaker jack is accessible on the back panel, so it can be swapped easily for a guitar cabinet if you wanted to gig this machine or open up the sound (it’s 5 watts can still be loud enough for small venues). If, like me, you have been dependent on fender amps for home playing and you want a good alternative ‘Marshall’ sound at bedroom levels, then look no further!
Perfect at home tube amp. I generally use 1 watt mode. Great tone whether clean or breakup. Loves my telecaster and Boss BD-2 into it, and takes pedals great in general. Couldn’t get over how nice it looked when I unboxed mine, either. Beautiful looking amp on top of sounding great. Really an incredible value. This was a surprise. I was sure this would sound decent but I was pleasantly surprised at the control & versatility. With a Stratacoustic, very clean & crisp, nice body. I tried all the normal dang Shure's everyone uses but this was great with a Blue Encore 100. Decided to try my daughters Roland Aerophone, very good tone overall. This would work for a little gig or practice of course, but for recording it would work well & of course you can mic this in a larger club/venue. Overall a fun, quality & versatile little amp. I've been a professional acoustic soloist for 12 years and the Blackstar Sonnet 120 is the perfect amp for small to medium size gigs. The external footswitch is necessary for the mute function but well worth it. The speaker stand adapter, along with the unusually high headroom, makes placing the amp extremely easy, even in a small space. The bass response is amazing. Very strong low end without the 'hum inducing boom'. When you dial in your sound on the Sonnet, you can clearly hear the effect of each knob. In other words, each knob does it's job obviously yet evenly. The guitar sound thru the Sonnet is more natural than any other amp I've tried. (I've been using the Fishman Artist and Performer for the past 4 years. Very, very good amplifiers.) The vocals come thru the Blackstar Sonnet 120 with clarity and the overall sound of the amp carries very well. If a 180-watt version comes out, I'd buy that one in a heartbeat. I bought the Vox VX 50 AG, to use as a practice amp at home. I've been more than satisfied with it's tone and volume. It's a nice compact body size, and is easy to move around because of the low weight and sturdy carrying handle. The controls are easily accessible on top, and have a quality feel to them. I'm an amplifier technician and have seen a good spread of guitar amplifiers. The Vox guitar amps that I've played have been consistently of good quality and the AC4TV is no exception. There is a lot to like about this amplifier. The controls are simple and self explanatory. The aesthetic look is fitting of a vintage lunch box amp. Most importantly however, the tones you can achieve with this amplifier are excellent. The clean tones have a crisp chime and high gain tones offer a sizzling high end break-up. As an added bonus, I find that moving between these tones is easily done from adjusting your guitar controls and attack rather than having to adjust the amp settings. I believe this would merit the AC4 as a touch sensitive amp. And what about the cons of this amplifier? My main concern with the AC4 is how hard the amplifier pushes the el84 power tube. Upon replacing the original failed el84, I found that the amplifier would drive my replacement el84s into a red glow on the screens. I feel this is asking the power tube to work harder than it should. These amplifiers do not have screen resistors which are fairly common on most tube amplifiers. From my experience the addition of this resistor helped both in a more natural break-up and added relief on the el84. My other minor complaint with this amplifier would probably be the speaker. The stock speaker is good, but there is room for improvement that most alnico speakers will likely be able to demonstrate. These amplifiers do conveniently offer and extension speaker out so you will be able to play this amp through other cabinets. To sum things up, I feel this amplifier competes well with its low wattage counterparts. The Vox has a good price and excellent tone. In my opinion the tone and control are a great deal better than the current low wattage Fender and Marshall amplifiers.nbrothergtr
For me personally this is a great size amp, easy to carry, load, etc. to gigs and has almost enough power behind it to work for any gig….unless I am playing at a big outdoor festival this amp works well for most of my gigs. I just played an outdoor event here in Vegas, 3 bands, and a large stage with 6 of us on it, and I had it up to about 8 on the level and with a little being added in my monitor up front I was good to go. Not a lot of options or features, such as reverb, but for me it works perfectly for what I expect out of such a small amp! Hope that helps!thomaskrojas
Great product works excellent some tricky soldering though. You will be soldering to back side of board which can be tough for a novice. Three settings you end up is position one is glassy clean, middle setting is original tone, and third setting a little more grit to the signal.tonymadden748

If you are looking for an acoustic amp on a budget, look no further. The Acoustic A1000 is well made, sounds great and has the bells and epistles of a much more expensive amp. I have compared this to the Fender Acoustasonic 40 and there is no contest. I even play my Strat on a few songs in Channel 2 and use a Behringer DI to the PA. It doesnt sound like a Twin Reverb but it is also very acceptable. However, it makes my Martin GPCPA1 sound fantastic! I added a Boss Acoustic pre-amp pedal and the sound is so authentic! Cant beat the price at Guitar Center either. Do yourself a favor and try it out. It deserves recognition!!!!csman1951
I've had this amp for just about a year now and the sound of this amp is amazing. I originally went in to buy another brand (Fender Acoustasonic) but when I tried it out, I just didn't like the sound so I plugged into this model. Man, what I difference. Two inputs per channel, two channels, each with it's own effects bank. The effects sound great, and you can program up to 20 of your own presets. That takes a bit to understand how to do it though. I ended up buying the floor model since they didn't have any in stock, with a discount. When I got home, and after a few days of playing, I noticed a rattle that was coming from the head unit. I moved the amp to different rooms and tried different settings but it didn't clear it up. I brought it back to CG and they ordered me a new one, at the regular price of course. Had the new one within a few days. I've used it with the Bluetooth at an event and it worked flawlessly. Plenty of volume too. I've also recorded direct out to a Tascam recorder and it sounded great. The only thing I would've liked if it had a foot switch to turn off effects but that's about my only complaint. I even got a price match not long after I bought it when it went on sale. The auto-feedback killer is nice and it doesn't effect the tone, in my opinion. I play a Godin A6 Ultra and a Gibson J-180EC through it, both sound amazing.Freditor

The amp has 2 separate channels, each with 2 inputs (accommodating either 1/4" instrument or XLR mic cables). Each of these channels has distinct dedicated EQ, FX, and line out (for recording or running to a bigger board). This is ideal for a single performer who wants to treat their voice and acoustic guitar separately (picture a reverb on voice, delay on guitar, separate EQ, and both running in dedicated lines to a recorder for live recording mixdown). But the additional two "passenger" inputs allow some flexibility for special guests or secondary instruments which can get their own level but piggyback on either channel 1/2 EQ/FX/output (e.g., a backup vocalist or keyboard). For many small venues hosting mostly solo/duo acoustic performers (coffee shops, farmers markets, etc.), this would be an adequate house PA, and would likely also suffice for open mic hosts in most situations. The sound quality is clear and easy to dial in. Good sound can be achieved with minimal effort and intuitive adjustment. For a unit of this size and power, it is comparatively lightweight, but obviously heavier (roughly 40lbs) than its smaller cousins. The wedge shape also can make it slightly awkward to carry at this size. Great sounding clean tones for playing at home, which is why i bought it – my beloved Mustang 1.1 started having issues and I MUST have a great clean tone to relax. Wanted a tube amp and did my research. Decided on the Blackstar. I must say I'm extremely happy with it. The reverb is KILLER to my ear and does a great job at adding shimmer without destroying the tone. No external effects are needed to get a gorgeous clean tone – I use my Zoom G3Xn into the front end to get univibe and compression. The effects loop is very functional. The amp can be very bass heavy, depending on your instrument, but if you run a 10 band EQ (go with MXR) in the loop you amp can achieve any tonal result you want. My best sound comes with everything at 12, with some of the bass rolled off with the MXR EQ – but its just a matter of taste i guess. This amp moves a lot of air when you use the drive channel, and if your not pleased with the amps distortion it does respond really well to distortion pedals. I'm mostly in the clean blues zone but must brag on the amps darker side: it can get very loud and stay rich. I haven't tried any of the direct recording features. The 2 selectable characters of clean that the amp offers thrill me and ,again, the reverb is classy and a bit different from other amps ( I read that is a room reverb). Highly recommended.Tim H.
This amp out of the box sounds fantastic. Crystal clear clean tones and a snarly gain channel that lets you choose between a more American gain tone and a British gain tone. I would say ‘cater for everyone’. But, I received my first amp and within an hour of playing I’d noticed a loud ‘POP’ when changing channels. This pop occurred if a note was being played at the same time as the channel change. (Footswitch and Amp buttons) So, of course I returned the Amp to PMT. they arranged DPD next working day collection for me, completely hassle free. I awaited my next amp, as a direct replacement. A few days later the next Blackstar HT-5R mkii arrived, box fresh like the last. I plugged the amp in, let the tubes warm and away I went. Within minutes of found a great tone again, but the loud ‘POP’ I heard from the first unit was there again on this amp. I tried 4 sockets in the house in case there was any kind of interference/static, but to no avail. Absolutely gutted, I called PMT again. The amp was returned for the second time. Apparently this hasn’t happened to anyone else, I may just be unlucky or the amp may not get along with the electrics in my home. Just check this out as soon as you buy one. I’ve tried two other valve amps on my house since, including a Blackstar Artist 10 AE and an Orange terror with cab, and there’s absolutely zero noise with these. Very important to note here, this is not a slam of PMT, they’ve been absolutely brilliant throughout this whole thing. Customer service is second to none and they are very easy to contact. Used these for a very long time and I will be returning once stores open to try out a new amp.Jack H.
Overall: So, I have been playing guitar for 40 years, always used Marshall's, So I did a bit of research, And found that 2 guys from the research and development team at Marshall for almost 20 years were trying to make some changes on some Marshall amps, Well Marshall said, "No", and these 2 guys decided to leave and start their own Co. Well just let me say, This 50 Watt head, Loaded with British sound and quality, could not be better! So many different features, and options of tone is incredible! Open Box blemish minus a 10% promotion, minus my Backstage Pass and no tax equals nearly half off. Then Fishman threw in an official beanie and key ring! I'd actually been surfing around for a used Fishman Artist when I stumbled upon this Open Box Performer at Musician's Friend. I could probably have gotten by with a Mini but hey, why settle for a four cylinder when you could have a V8? Factor in weight, size and reputation… I called in the order. The blemishes were non-discernible and I'm enjoying this amplifier. I play a Martin Dreadnought Jr or an Epiphone DR-500MCE and sing using a Shure Beta 57A. The Epiphone is using an LR Baggs Anthem since its original pup broke and the Martin has its factory pup. All sound great after adjusting for volume, tone and reverb with minimal feedback. Note to Baggs fans: the LR Baggs can really howl. I'm using a small practice room but its nice to know that I have the watts to go large. If this amp never breaks, it will be one of the better amplifier investments I've ever made.Loudboxer
I plan to use this amp for live performances in small venues. So far I have plugged a Martin acoustic guitar with a Seymour Duncan Woody sound hole P/U into this amp, a tele and strat, and a microphone, and everything I plug into it sounds very impressive. I got this amp because it has the midrange speaker and the Artist doesn't. They midrange was important to me for vocal production. I am not disappointed so far. I have played professionally since I was 13 years old, I am currently 67 years old. I don't remember every being more impressed with an amplifier than I am with this one. I didn't expect the great sound from my Fender American tele and strat that I get this this amp. This is my first Fishman product. Just received my Loudbox Performer a couple of days ago. Spent 30 min one night dialing it in for my Gibson Hummingbird, then tried it with the full band last night. It sounded great, and was plenty loud for an Americana band with a full kit, bass, electric guitar, keys, and 2-3 vocals. Previously I'd been running my guitar direct through the PA, and it sounded good. Switching to the Loudbox balanced our live sound better with the acoustic opposite the electric on either side, and it added weight & dimension to my acoustic sound. It made for a marked improvement in our live sound. I could hear and feel it better, it had more definition, and as a result I got into a groove right away. Originally I'd intended to buy a higher end acoustic amp and tried a couple. They sounded really nice, but maybe too hifi "nice". Pretty/slick/etc. What I wanted was an amp that sounded exactly like my Hummingbird but louder. I'd heard a friend play his $4k+ Taylor through a Loudbox live and was impressed with the tone, and when I tried it I was really drawn to the sound. The Loudbox comes very, very close to replicating the sound of my guitar exactly (after dialing in eq) – most importantly, it stays true to the voice of my guitar. It also has a weight/warmth to it that I really like. *Btw- I'd been concerned about the covering tearing because there are a lot of reviews noting that. I checked the covering on floor models at my local stores and it was a mess – but I believe Fishman took care of this some time ago. I recently grabbed this beauty to use with my array of acoustic electric guitars (Gibson L-00 Rosewood, Martin 000-17E, Taylor 324ce, Breedlove Oregon Myrtlewood Concertina, and Breedlove Premier Adirondack/Rosewood Concert). I will especially need it when it comes time to play shows again, and I was interested in this amp as it has two channels (one for guitar and one for vocals). The sound is perfect and so true to the tone and nuances of each guitar that I'm mostly just mad at myself that it took me this long to get ahold of this amp. It is deep and full sounding and also has an excellent grouping of effects (the delay and reverb are stellar). There are more expensive acoustic amps out there (I own one of them) but this is the best that I've used. Overall I'm very pleased. Other reviews have covered most everything, so I'll just add a few comments. While I love the sound of this amp, it's pretty under-powered when used with dynamic mics or a passive guitar pickup. I have a Taylor 712 ce with a K&K mini installed, and it benefits greatly from running the signal into a LR Baggs Para Acoustic Guitar DI and Preamp first. Similarly, a dynamic mic like a Shure 58 sounds fine, but will do much better with a preamp of some sort. I prefer to use a condenser like an Audio-Technica AE5400. I also have the big brother of this amp, the 200-watt version. I like to take a line out from that amp and run it into the 100 for use as a stage monitor. The amp sound basically identical, so that eliminates the need for messing around much with the EQ – what you hear is what is going out to the audience. There's no tilt-back mechanism on the 100 but I find that a foam block like what's used for transporting a kayak serves as a nice support to lean it on. One other thing – this is a beautiful amp and deserves some protection. I don't think that Musicians Friend as of this writing stocks a cover for it, but ione is available at a reasonable price online if you look around a bit. Hands down, this is the most stunning amp I have ever used with my acoustic guitar! The sound is absolutely gorgeous, warm, and true to the beauty of my guitar! I own a Martin GPC16 and use it with this amp. Even my husband, who isn't a musician but has an ear for sound, couldn't believe how beautiful my guitar sounded on it. I recommend this for any acoustic player! I use it for guitar and vocals and have been so impressed. The built in effects are perfect for what I need- nothing fancy but tasteful. Overall: I’ve owned this amp for about a year and a half now. I run my Taylor 814 CE DLX through it as well as my vocals. It is the clearest sounding amp I have ever used. I have been leading worship in several places for many years. As I said I use the amp as a personal monitor. Both vocals and guitar then out to the house pa. I'm really impressed with the versatility of this amp. Found out you can blend inputs from 4 sources into the two channels. I just love the tone and the sound. Very lightweight compared to other acoustic amps I have. Much more bass without sounding muddy. Digital effects are top notch. Three direct outputs from various points in the signal chain for recording. Although I give it a hearty recommendation, I do wish it came with a cover.safeman007
I would say it was the best, However, I believe that goes to the Genzler pro. I bought the mini. It is simply amazing. Since I also sing, The mini doesn’t offer much for EQ. If your just playing guitar, look no further. The mini would most likely be all you would ever need. The Pro offers a better EQ plus each channel has both XLR and line inputs. I’m going to be trading up to the Genzler Pro and also investing in the extension cab. Even though the price is up there, it’s worth every penny. Which is why I’m confident in investing even more to get the most out my acoustic rig. I play a Martin Streetmaster D-15m with K&K pure mini passive pickup. My guitar sounds absolutely incredible. I played for two hours straight. It literally makes you sound like you are performing on a concert stage. Sonic perfection. Maybe not AS loud as a concert, But definitely as Good! Buy it. I've been running solid state amps for 30+ years now. Tried tube amps back in the day (Marshalls, Randalls, Carvins, Fenders, Peaveys, etc…) but it seemed as though they always needed to be in the shop for one reason or another. Solid State was my choice for decades… Well, now here's this single rack space, all-tube power amp – I had to try it. Love it!!! Had the first rehearsal with the band last week and everybody could hear the difference. At first I thought it was just me being happy about a new amp; but, no… I heard it too, and they all said how great the entire room sounded! The SYN5050 has way more dynamic response than any other SS or older Tube amp that I have ever played through. Clean, clear, ballsy – every nuance of my picking comes through. I gave it 4 and a half stars because I need to use it more. Really happy with my set-up at the first 3-hour practice. This weekend I will gig it for 4+hours – more on that later! Try it, you'll like it!

You also have tons of effects to use in conjunction with all of these modeled amp choices. All of these possibilities can be saved as your own personal presets which can endlessly be tweaked to make you sound and play your best. The amp is awesome. Well built and solid, very pleasant to look at, easy to use and the sound! Oh man, the sound of that little amp is just beyond belief. Full and rich, it fills the room as though it were five times the size. With the app on my android phone, fine tuning the sound is easy and intuitive, and you can save your sounds as presets if you wish. But even without using the app, the presets that ship with the amp are simply stellar. In my opinion, the amp is well worth the price.Richard L.
