The donner yellow fall delay pedal is a cost-efficient and space saving pedal from one of the more well known pedal makers to come out of china in the past few years. along with mooer and joyo, donner is at the forefront of the mini/micro pedal movement that has recently taken hold, and currently offers quite a selection of pedals, many of which are inexpensive homages to well-known, and significantly higher priced, pedals. the donner yellow fall is the company's take on a classic delay circuit. features the donner yellow fall delay features true bypass wiring, and a three knob design with controls for time, echo, and feedback. the pedal's signal path is based around a pt2399 echo/delay processor chip, and provides from 20 ms of delay up to about 620 ms of delay. although on its own, this chip does provide longer delay times than the quite popular bucket brigade device mn3007 analog chip, the pt2399 is still limited to a maximum of 340 ms. however, at the expense of the signal quality, the total delay time of the pt3007 can be stretched to about a full second. as such, the yellow fall delay provides repeats that are clean but not-too-clean, making it a very vintage-y feeling and sounding pedal.

This analog echo box is amazing. It's echo is warm and musical and so un-like the sterile digital delays of the 80's and 90's. It sounds awesome with my big Gretsch guitar. It truly sounds like the tape echo I had back when I was young. Any combination of settings makes good sounds, slap-back, standard echo, strange Pink Floyd sounds and of course, sound-on-sound feedback. The volume level stays the same engaged or disengaged. If I had paid $100 I'd be happy. Having paid about $27 makes me enjoy it all the more. Buy it, you will not regret this purchase.mega-dada
Nothing negative can really be said about this pedal; a great range of effects can be produced in a pretty simple way with only three controls.The VD400 really is an analogue-esque kind of effect; set the intensity to more than 70% and you will get self oscillation provided the echo isn't at full zero. When oscillating, changing the rate leads to some old school sounds like what you'd hear if you varied the playback speed of a cassette.Put the rate between 85-100% and some compressed reverby sounds can be achieved with various echo/intensity settings – reflective small room sounds to muffled kind of bathroom to public address system type verby-delay.The only thing I could possibly complain about is that the rate will only go as slow as 300ms (roughly three repeats a second). I have Roland cube60 so I'm used to being able to have repeats as slow as about 2 repeats per second (which is a huge difference!) for those really chilled semifunk riffs.Still, this pedal is pretty great, and for $25 I'm pretty glad I made the purchase. I've used it mostly with ma bass and found that the tone has to be set kinda bright or it gets muddy, but that's bass for you!I'll probably never use it but the direct out (dry signal output) is a convenient feature that some may find very handy.DrummerKat
I chose to purchase some Behringer pedals for our practice room. I was lugging my big pedal board up and down basement stairs for each practice. I keep an old reliable solid state Peavey in the practice room for convenience. So I decided some cheap pedals just for rehearsal may do the trick. I figured the plastic pedals would be fine staying in place in my brothers basement. And honestly they feel more durable than I expected. I had my first rehearsal and honestly was quite surprised and the sounds of my new Behringer pedals. Playing out I use a MXR Carbon Copy for delay. This pedal was surprising good and I didn't feel like I was using a crappy pedal. I got it set and I was able to just focus on rehearsal kicking this on when I needed it. I'd gig with it with no concerns if my MXR went dead. Everyone says Behringer makes good pedals for the price. I say from one nights rehearsal they make good pedals. I've played a few decades in bands and have a decent ear for tone in mho. For what it's worth this is my review.

O.K. Right off the bat- this is NOT a tape simulator OR a looping pedal but it IS the best bang for your for a tap tempo buck- with dotted eighths, triplets, and four on the floor. The reverse IS the best i've used. The slow delay is magic, ping pong is real feeling, the ducking is perfect heavy fast overdrive riff and rhythm playing-which by the way none of the other glut of delay pedals address. Stereo in, stereo out dual function foot switch that works perfect ( don't listen to the pedal snob whiner dudes!) + used it's less that 1/3 or more than everything else with tap tempo. Get it, use it live ( don't worry- you ain't breaking this one, though if you really try you might break you foot in the process) My take? Best buy for the best usable functions.redbrassier

After doing some quality research on different delay pedals, I decided I had to get my hands on an Echo Park. There a bunch of different modes on this thing that will keep anyone occupied for a week. I love playing with the different settings and getting all sorts of weird sounds. I admit, most of these effects will rarely be used live, but I purchased this pedal mostly for playing around. However, for the live playing, this pedal has a tap tempo feature that allows you to set your delay time without having to bend down to turn any knob. If you prefer, there is a time knob as well, and whichever is last used will override the other (knob vs tap tempo). I got this pedal used for only $76, 50% of the usual price, but the pedal was still in great condition. I use it in my effects loop consisting of a tuner, wah, MXR Dynacomp, distortion, Marshall Regenerator, and another delay pedal. All the pedals are powered by my Visual Sound Onespot daisy chain. So far, I have only discovered one problem. When I have it in just Standby mode, and have 2 distortion pedals and an MXR dynacomp turned on, I can hear a slight pulse of buzzing to the tempo of the set delay time. This could be fixed by turning down the volume on any of the 3 other pedals, but it is not too big of an issue. I have not tried experimenting with my effects loop or buying the pedal its own power supply. I am NOT experiencing the loud hiss I have read about in other reviews of this pedal. Overall, I am very pleased with the pedal and would certainly look for another if it were to break or go missing.soundthesteel

I've been using this pedal for cutting out the noise that is produced from my other pedals and my amp. It works great for cutting noise that would normally ring through in between notes or chords. It's small, built well, and easy to use. The threshold control allows you to set the volume at which the gate starts the noise reduction, and the toggle switch allows you to dial in your settings. The Echobrain is very sturdy and well built, as well as very inexpensive. It only has basic controls but they are all very responsive and produce a variety of satisfying, high quality tones, comparable to high end products such as the popular Carbon Copy. This pedal however is limited to a maximum of 300 ms. but it seems to be enough for me. It sounds great with clean, crunch and high gain tones, and with the right settings it's a great in leads and solos. Notice that it does have a darker, vintage type of tone which might not work for everybody. It also starts self-oscillating rather quickly, so not all settings are 100% usable for melody (but cool for experimental/psychedelic stuff). All things considered, especially the price, this analog delay is very easy to recommend. If you need more control/settings, etc., you'll have to look elsewhere and pay a lot more.
With only 2 parameters (delay time and feedback) relating directly to the delay, it's not a versatile sound, but I do like it's sound : dark "muffled", with some distorted overtones on the delays. Before purchasing this, I watched a few reviews. They were all pretty informative about the uses and nuances of the pedal. For me, some of the complaints or otherwise pain points of this pedal, are some things I personally like about it. So for me, I find the user interface intuitive, and relatively easy to navigate. It's an analog delay pedal first, and achieves that very well. The nice thing is, you can dial in 11 different delay settings, which makes this highly versatile. Using this with my bass, I do notice a considerable volume drop, with the pedal activated though. Making this something to use for recording purposes, or an effect that you would have "always -on". In all reality, for me, that's the only draw back, but a major one. As I don't need delay active on all songs that I play.Jeff
If you can't take a guitar pedal out of the box, plug it in, and get some decent sounds out of it right away with the turn of a knob, then there is no point in it being a live performance pedal. If you have to read the manual to understand it's banks and presets, then it belongs on a studio rack, not a pedal board. I feel completely ashamed I spend even a hundred bux on this for the stupid deal of the day without reading the reviews. Worst part is that I sold my intuitive delay pedal to help fund this purchase because it was an "affordable" tap delay. Not at ALL what I thought it was. Its build quality is excellent and it's got a decent feature set for the price that includes the ability to save you settings and then call them up either with a foot tap or via MIDI. It'll hold about 10 or 12 of these presets. It also comes with a power supply, so that's nice. It looks really cool too. It's heavy and solid. Now the bad: ergonomics. It's as bad as everybody says. You have to read the manual to use it. Seriously. You can't turn knobs & have it do stuff. All the knobs must be turned to the correct positions, like the tumblers in a padlock, before you can change settings. That's bad ergonomics and it isn't readily apparent or intuitive. In this day and age nobody should have to read a manual. Products should be designed so that function is obvious. It isn't that we're too stupid to read, it's that we're too busy to read. I am an avid pedal enthusiast, as my 42 pedal pedalboard will attest; and I have had a few flangers before, but ABSOLUTELY NOTHING compares to Josh's flanger. I could add to this review but it will not do anything for you: JUST BUY IT! YOU NEED IT! THERE'S NO OTHER FLANGER LIKE IT! YOU'LL REGRET NOT HAVING THIS CLASSIC IN YOUR COLLECTION A FEW YEARS FROM NOW. Trust me, I'm a Doctor.
I can get this pedal to do three things: a very subtle reverb that adds a touch of space, a room-like reverb, and a super long-tailed ambient reverb that's so expansive it almost sounds like it's mixed with delay. There are other reverb pedals for a bit more money that have more options built into them-spring, plate, hall, room, shimmer, modulated reverb, and so on. With this pedal I find it difficult to switch between the different sounds since it's a lot of knob fiddling. It does sound absolutely killer, which is why I gave it 4 stars, but I don't recommend it if you want to easily switch between different types of reverb. I was recently using one pedal board for all my guitars, and the chorus I had was mainly designed for use with acoustic guitar. Now I'm rearranging things to have one board just for my electric guitars and all I needed was a basic chorus pedal of quality build and tone. I knew from reviews the JHS 3 series was perfect for me. I've been playing for 57 years and have owned pedals in the $100 to $500 range to provide my chorus effects. No matter if I had mulitple options in some stomp boxes I usually settled on a good subtle setting, so I knew there was no need for me to get anything fancier than the JHS. This pedal arrived with me last Friday, I was really keen to use it having seen the demos online, the following 2 days turned our to be the most frustrating of my life. I suspect the demo people are given a fully programmed device to portray a seeming ease of use. In reality after 2 days of struggling with sluggish and in some cases non responsive buttons and really poor tutorial, even with the help of online programmes, I was not able to store a single usable setting. Now it may be that I was supplied with a faulty unit or the pedal requires far more time and patience than I can throw at it. In a performance environment, utmost simplicity is key and I feel this unit is not that simple, or as I said earlier. could be defective. In either case it isn't for me and the end result is a return for refund or exchange for a different brand. If some-one could mail me in this regard as soon as possible I would be very grateful. kind regards Chris

It has been really fun to try the different presets. The harmonies are very nice and clean. To my ear they sound great. I haven't played a gig with it yet….so we will see. There are some basic things that I wish i had known about the interface. Some fundamental orientation videos would be good. I had the most basic problem with not understanding that the buttons were so sensitive. It is almost comical! I would PRESS the button and nothing would happen! But i finally discovered just to TAP the button and everything worked fine. Seriously. Holding the button firmly down did nothing. Just tapping it though… .and it worked as it should. 🙂 Really weird to me! But overall, I think the guitar effects and voice are very good. i'll enjoy this thing I am sure.mhs9417

Another great effects pedal from BOSS. The DD-7 is quite like a 'Swiss-Army-Knife' in the realm of compact delay pedals. Built with the standard of quality that BOSS is known for. The delay range is amazingly vast from 1ms to 6.4 seconds, plus a 40 second looper, as well as assorted delay types like modulation, analog and reverse. I haven't purchased a Boss delay for years. I did buy a DM-2 Waza to retire my vintage unit. I've just always been an analog delay guy. However, I bought the DD-8 on a whim because I needed a delay for a project that required some specific sounds. Namely a stereo reverse delay sound. I figured I'd give this one a try. This is a home run pedal. Every notch on the mode knob yielded usable and inspiring delays. The only part that I haven't used is the looper but if it works like the other modes, I'm sure it's excellent. No regrets here on this one. It might even knock a Strymon delay off of my main board.JV
Really delivers a lot for the price point. I wanted a delay to do nearly everything and do it well, and this does it. I'm more of a digi, tape & analog delay user, and I don't care much for the more "out there" options, but they are fun to mess with. I use this in mono 99% of the time, so my only gripe against the pedal doesn't really matter much at all. I wish it had a wider stereo field and wish it had a ping pong options in settings, but again, I use it in mono mostly, so no big deal. The DD-200 is super easy to dial in and presets work simply. I like that it has a dedicated Manual mode so I can just use it without worrying about presets. Awesome delay.KC

you can get a nux delay force for 50 bux shipped here on ebay that does pretty much everything this does at an off the hook 250. even USED these are overpriced. the stock unit is nothing particularly special. the fun factor comes with modification, at which point it becomes both useful AND kinda cool…. provided you can obtain one cheap enough to be worth modifying. i know this is sacrilege, but for the money a line 6 costs, you can find a plethora of other pedals with the same or better features for significantly less. these are cool i guess, but not THAT cool for what they ask for them. seriously, the dang nux is a better deal. more models, better sampler with more time etc… do your homework and research. line 6 stuff sounds like line 6. you'll love it or hate it. stock, my vote is "meh". modded so you can access the looper via footswitch, and so you can access both heel down and toe down of the 3 presets and it becomes a bit more palatable. me? i'd buy something else. seriously. don't fall for internet hype written by 12 year olds with daddy's credit card. i've been playing electronic guitar for 48 years. i have played almost every piece of gear out there. this one is good, but not as great as you usually hear.phatjbp
The worst piece of equipment I've ever paid for. Worked for a just a few weeks (sitting on my floor untouched, no gigs) then dropped dead for no reason. Pulled the "chip" out of it, reinserted it, and it worked again for a while (shouldn't have to do that with a brand new piece of equipment anyway). Then it died again, this time for good. Look, if you REALLY have to have a Martin D-45 sound, guess what Of course this pedal will never do that. BUT, if you need something that sounds somewhat acoustic-like in a band mix and don't want to carry an extra (not to mention fragile) instrument, then this will work just fine. Not authentic, not great, not amazingly life-like, just FINE. With realistic expectations this pedal is as good as any for what it intends to do. I use this in an A/B/Y rig. Tha A side goes to my regular pedalboard and amps. The B side goes to this pedal and a volume pedal direct to FOH via a direct box. I get the "acoustic" sound fed back to me through my monitor (or ears if that applies occasionally). I can have straight electric, straight "acoustic", or use the Y option to blend the two to my liking. Works for me, YMMV. I play "for-hire" mostly and my clients love the versatility of my setup. Also, DO NOT run this pedal through a tube amp if you want the best results. It will definitely work best either run straight to FOH or through a clean solid-state amp. Overall: Here's it in a nutshell, if you have a song or two to play onstage it can work but won't be a great sound. Positive features are response time doesn't lag, and it does have a reverb feature. If you like the sound and feel of an acoustic you won't like this. To say you wouldn't bring an acoustic to a gig for fear of it being damaged is kind of lame, maybe keep the expensive acoustic home but take the cheap one, you will get a better sound. I plugged a strat into a clean amps and it sounded better.
Have read many reviews both positive and negative about this pedal. The negatives were not specific but didn't hear their guitar and amp give an acoustic sound with this pedal. The positives were sometimes vague but they liked it. Then some went on to say they liked it not through a tube amp but through an acoustic amp or a PA system. I HOOKED IT up through a very small practice amp set clean and used the emulation out into a mixer then into a low power full range PA type system. Sounded excellent with neck single coil. Didn't try it with the middle single coil nor the bridge humbucker. I am very happy to have this pedal.Kenmorek

Most problems that people report on this are due to insufficient power supply. It draws 175ma so many daisy chain and power blocks many not be enough. Voodoo Labs Pedal Power have designated outputs (5 and 6 on Pedal Power 2 Plus) to supply 250ma for larger pedals which works perfect. Giving it too little power will result in swooshy clock noise, clipping at low levels and overall poor sound. When given enough juice, its dead silent and has no noticeable tone suck (that I can hear through reference headphones straight into clean amp). Sound: Being my first delay pedal I can't compare it to others however it doesn't suck any of my tone. It doesn't even sound digital, cold, or sterile to me. Doesn't color my amps tone either. Make sure you use this in the effects loop however it does sound okay through the front end up my gain channel. Features: From what I can tell this has all the features of the original RE201 but in a compact stompbox. Ease of Use: This is the first pedal I've bought that the manufacturer actually provided sample settings in the manual.On the underside of the pedal has a diagram of how the different modes include which tape head sound. I found my favorite delay sound in a few minutes and now I feel like David Gilmour with this thing on. Quality: It's a Boss pedal. I'll never have reliability issues. Feels nice and heavy too. Value: This pedal is just like it's analog predecessor and those units are very costly on the used market. My friends RE501 tape echo/chorus unit is worth a pretty penny but my pedal does something his unit can't do and that is my pedal actually works. Boss could charge up to twice the price and still sell these. Manufacturer Support: Being a Boss pedal I'm sure the manufacturer support is great too. The Wow Factor: It does have a cool name "space echo". Sounds like something a martian left behind on our planet. It even smiles and winks at you. In fact maybe it's a space robot from another galaxy! Overall: I finally broke down and decided to buy a delay pedal. At first I just wanted an MXR Carbon Copy but after selling my second amp and having extra money I decided without hesitation to buy the RE20. I'm not going to say this is the best delay pedal on the market but it does an excellent tape delay sound for what it's worth. I really like the layout and the ability to mix tape heads and reverb. It doesn't take long at all to find a good setting either. I can't wait to use this with two amps either. I'll probably pick up the MXR someday but I won't need to.Joshua
I purchased this pedal in 2018 after selling my Dunlop Echoplex, seeking a more multi-faceted delay. I saw Jonny Greenwood use the original tape version of this pedal, so I just had to bite. 3 years later, my life has dramatically changed, but my Boss RE-20 Space Echo remains at my side for any practice, rehearsal, gig and family dinner. Everything from the multiple tape head simulations to the tap tempo to the fabled Twist setting has helped me enjoy the great gift of the electric guitar. This pedal has become a mainstay on my board for any sort of delay that I need, from quick slapbacks to endlessly cascading streams and anything in between, all with that good old vintage flavor. One thing I especially love doing is cranking the Intensity until full oscillation and using the Tap Tempo to crank out a sidechain-style rhythm that wows the audience and pisses off the soundguy when I play it through a 100w Marshall stack. If I could offer the smallest complaint about anything related to this pedal, it would be that the Reverb can be quite muddy at times, especially if most of the gain comes later in the signal path. This can be easily avoided by either using the Effects Loop, or by not using the Reverb at all. Oh well. Overall, I couldn't recommend this pedal more. It's easy to use, has Stereo In/Out, Direct On/Off, an input level, a built in Reverb, Boss's tried and true durability, and — my favorite aspect — a nice little smiley face! This pedal delivers exactly what it's supposed to. The tap controlled delay is precise and very flexible. The EQ is nice in that you have a little bit of overdrive on tap even before getting into PLEXI mode. Once you're there, all the gain you could want is available between the plexi and boost switches. All this before you even get to the portability factor; where else can you get so much in one guitar case- friendly pedal? The cherry on top of this sonic sundae is its ability to be plugged straight into a sound board; no more amp worries on the fly…..just leave it up to the sound engineer from there!celt132

The first unit developed an intermittent problem that would have cost more for a tech to find and fix than it was to buy another unit in excellent condition. I REALLY like the sort of left-of-center approach of this pedal, I just found it to be a bit less than user-friendly in a couple ways. Maybe it was just the specific unit I received, but for one thing, the actual rubberneck feature did not adjust its parameters anywhere near as usefully/gradually as I thought, and for another thing, the concentric pots kind of stuck to themselves and would turn together when I didn't want them to. Maybe the latter would be set-and-forget knobs for others, but a sort of third strike I would give the pedal is that sounds which work well clean don't work as well dirty and vice versa, so I found several parameters WOULD need to be tweaked live. I'm definitely tempted to keep it as a studio tool, but I think I'm just going to return it and keep the gear wheel of life turning. The search continues.AnxiousParakeet-60961
Excellent all-round delay with well-defined but not overly percussive repeats, creating a really nice wash in the background on certain settings. Amazing control of the repeats themselves, with a wide range of sounds available from the modulation section. You have to be careful with the gain/tone controls as turning them up allows the repeats to self-oscillate much more easily. The only thing that confused me was a tendency to self-oscillate as delay time was increased, which is the exact opposite of what I normally see in analog delays. I strongly recommend getting the FS3X footswitch for the on/off modulation control, and to allow easier use of the "rubberneck" function.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
The pedal sounds incredible, and the price was a major discount. Shipping was fast and free too. There is a learning curve with how interactive the controls are. You have the ability to make weird, unconventional sounds at the extreme settings, and the lush, beautiful sounds are there but take some tweaking and understanding of how the controls work together, specifically with the modulation, but it is all there. The great thing is that the knobs are large, the pedal is well built, and the switches are easily accessible, so you can change settings like true bypass or trails, and it is all easy to read. I am really excited about the pedal and the sounds that it makes, having only played digital delays in the past, none of which can get close to the sound that this has.myersgeneral
