Been playing it for a couple of weeks. My feedback. 1. Bajaoo Service The delivery and packaging was to my expectations. 2. The guitar Ideal for someone who has relatively less longer fingers. I used to play on a yamaha c40 which has a std 52mm nut size, whereas this comes with a 46 mm one, so the stretching is comparatively smoother. 2. Retuning of strings is a must before each session, but after a few days the strings seem to retain their tone, which is the case with all guitars. 3. Due to the thin soundboard, the sound is not very projecting but good enough for soloing in a medium sized room. However, the tone for me is acceptable. 4. The preamp works well after connecting to my kustomsound amp if one really needs amplification. There is no on/off switch, so the battery may have to be removed if you are not using the amp. 5. It is artfully finished in terms of its looks. 6. Would be a good buy for someone playing the steel guitar which usually have a 43mm nutsize and wanting to move to a nylon guitar. My overall experience with this guitar has been good so far.Nikhil D.
Let'S just say I have bought a lot of guitars at every price range, but If you are either just starting to play or an accomplished guitarist. This instrument for the price is the BEST on the lot. Not pricy but loaded with quality sound either pluged in or just by itself the tone is Fantastic. Easy to hold as it is more of the popular thiner body style and it looks beautiful and well constructed. After looking over classical electric guitars for the price, this one came out on top as my choice. Also for a travel guitar it's unbeatable.

I have been playing classical since age 12, I am now 72. I have found this instrument to be most comfortable and responsive to my needs. I still have my first guitar that was purchased by my parents in 1954. As I play for my own pleasure and an occasional recital, I have found much satisfaction with this product. My son gave it to me 2 years ago for a birthday present. This instrument "fits" me perfectly. The neck is of perfect dimension for my left hand and fingers. As I transitioned from my first guitar to this one, I found it to be so comfortable. As I do not use much, if any, amplification, it is nice for large rooms like church buildings or recitals. The most expensive is not necessarily the best. The instrument must compliment the human body. Thank you for allowing me to comment on this instrument.Sounds of the past
Overall: This was my first time ordering from zZounds. I wanted a cheap nylon string to play around the house and Ibanez makes decent low cost guitars. The guitar showed up and the box looked to be opened previously, the tape was cut. I immediate noticed the fretboard was extremely dry, to the point that the radius of the fretboard was concave, not flat, it had cracks, and all of the fret ends on low E side and high E side were sticking way out. I boxed it right back up and sent it back the next day. I'm no stranger to working on guitars but this was not worth the effort. Too bad, the guitar itself sounded decent but I highly suspect this guitar was stored in a poor environment hence why the fretboard was severely dried out and the radius of the board literally changed shape.Customer service etiquette was lacking as well but I got a refund. If you buy anything from this place, a bit of advice, use PayPal, as I did. The refund process seems to move faster if you report an issue via PayPal.
I have several classical guitars, and this was the least expensive. It has become my go-to guitar for gigging, including a few spots for TV. At home, this Ibanez is the one that was always out of the case on a stand, ready to pick up whenever. So it became comfortable, but then noticeably reliable. It stays in tune. The electronics sound better than the Fishman on another that I have, particularly the bass response. The tuners (particularly the low E) have withstood routine changes to drop D a few times while playing, without obvious sign of wear. When I first started gigging I used another great sounding guitar but then changed to the Ibanez to protect the other(s) from bumps, weather, people, and other hazards. If something terrible happened to my guitar collection, probably the first replacement might be this Ibanez.Tim - ATL

I wanted a smaller acoustic electric thats a little better than a starter guitar, something I could enjoy as my skills grow, and keep for years; something I can play by the campfire on weekend trips and not worry about having to pamper it. I read many, many reviews and listened to experts on YouTube play and compare. I bought this Ibanez and have been really pleased. All the reviews were on target and there were no surprises. The factory strings arent terrific but deliver a decent sound; there is no manual or even a gig case that comes with the guitar, but I found the perfect sized used hard case on Letgo for $20 and a used starter amp as well. I am all set up for under $360. Dont spend good $ on new cases and accessories. There is a huge local market to tap into through Letgo and OfferUp. I didnt want to buy the guitar used since Im still a beginner and wanted to play right away and be able to return if not satisfied. I think I made a good choice. The sound is good, better than expected for a thin instrument on the non-amplified setting, and think it will only improve with usage and better strings, which is what many experts say. Amplified, the sound is crisp, clear and delivers as promised. Its a lovely guitar; the dark finish is deep and beautiful, not atall a factory look like the ubiquitous blonde Yamaha starter guitar of my youth. I am not crazy about the gold-look hardware, which I think cheapens the otherwise excellent quality of the build… but that can be upgraded to chrome if I still dislike it next year. (Ill make it a goal reward for myself when I reach my next skill level). I noticed, while shopping for this guitar, that there are a number of very similar models out there. Most were more expensive, with different woods and very subtle differences. But, what kept me coming back to the Ibanez was the sound plugged in. Nothing else, regardless of cost, sounded as realistic as this does. Light weight guitar that sounds pretty darn good with an amp. It boasts a rich beautiful color in the light with really nice detail. Pretty decent sound for a streamline guitar. Your not going to get a deep sound but this a great piece to travel and practice with. Having a built in tuner is awesome! Also has bass and treble controls. I hooked it up to my home stereo through the stereo's amp and it really sounded sweet. I would highly recommend this guitar for anyone at this great price!TRACY

Bought this mainly as a travel guitar. My go too guitars are a Taylor 12en and a Córdoba orchestra CE nylons along with a selection of steel stringed instruments. Compared to all those guitars the Yamaha is a disappointment and it serves me right for buying a guitar on line I'd never played. The action is high, even for a nylon, and makes playing tiring. Try to lower the action and there is buzz from the D string. The sound, either through quality headphones or an acoustasonic amplifier is really "synthetic". It is difficult to really pick out the ring of individual strings when playing relatively fast. So it doesn't help much during practice – the sound is just too "blurred". The much talked about STR electronics are not very useful in improving the sound. I'm debating taking it back to guitar center and trading it in. But it has its uses when I need to be quiet like in a hotel while traveling. But that's all it will be used for, because I never enjoy the sound it makes compared to a real nylon acoustic. It's really expensive too, worth $300 at best.Graeme A
I've played classical guitar for 40 yrs and fingerstyle jazz/blues for 25 yrs. Most of the guitars in my collection are expensive collector's instruments: Taylors, Gibsons, and a handmade classical guitar by the Spanish Luthier Ricardo Sanchis, to name a few. While I don't play publicly much anymore, I have performed classical guitar in concert. I'm no pro, by any means, but a good Saturday still includes at least 4 hours of playing. As for the SLG200NW, I am ALWAYS amazed at how great this guitar sounds. I run it through a Fishman Aura (get one), and the sound is nothing short of SPECTACULAR. When run through a good pre-amp (or imaging), it sounds like a VERY expensive instrument. This guitar is super responsive to touch, producing both delicate nuance and big sound without a hint of string buzz or hiss. Most remarkable for me is how playable it is. The fingerboard, action, and frets gives me the feeling of "glide" that I do not get with any other guitar. The machine heads are also very responsive, and the guitar stays perfectly in tune. Clearly one of the most obvious benefits (aside from the above) is the ability to play silently without disturbing anyone nearby. This is ESPECIALLY helpful when practicing scales or repeating passages hundreds of times; we all know how irritating this is to others. Slip on headphones and get lost, undisturbed and without disturbing others. This aspect (even without great sound) would've been enough for me. For true classical purists, get the wide neck. The feel is exactly like a good classical guitar. The version with the smaller neck is just too cramped for classical playing. Again I suggest using it with a good pre-amp. It's worth it. Final note on Yamaha classical guitars: Many years ago, I was in a master class at the Royal Academy of Music in Madrid. I had Yamaha classical (my first guitar). EVERYONE else had a Ramirez. My teacher, a pupil of Segovia, heard my Yamaha and could NOT believe his ears!Indigo
Two design flaws: The strap buttons screw in and out to attach the top of the "body." They loosen over time as the strap moves making it easy for them to fall out and the guitar to fall on the floor. Also the upper part of the "body" is very "sharp" and digs into my forearm much more than any other guitar leaving a lot of red creases. Aside from these flaws the quality is good but I just don't enjoy playing it possibly due to the action or the lack of tone/authentic feel. I also dislike it when I see people perform with this guitar. People should play real guitars in performance IMO.Christopher

Purchased this guitar in December of 2019. Total for guitar, hard case (extra), 2 yrs of maintenance, and tax came to < $900. The guitar was purchased for my 11yo son who has been taking guitar lessons for about a year and is developing a repertoire in classical and flamenco musical styles. Prior to this, my son was using a simple < $200 starter guitar. But because of his interest and development throughout the year (we rarely have to ask him to practice; he does it on his own), we decided to purchase this guitar as a next step up. We tried a number of guitars, including Cordoba, and from various sellers prior to purchasing this particular guitar. It came down to this model and another model from Cordoba. At this point, my son's guitar teacher (who has been playing professionally for 35+ years) volunteered to visit the store and help with our final selection. We decided on this model because of its sound (very important that *you* like the sound of *your* guitar!) and it is extremely light-weight. Additional features include a built-in tuner, amplifier pick-up (so you can connect to an amplifier if you wish) and has guitar strap connectors. Finally, a particular and unique feature of this guitar is the small bevel where your playing arm rests on the guitar. My son appreciates this simple and unobtrusive feature which allows him to rest his arm on the base of the guitar without the guitar edge digging into his forearm. I just bought this instrument and the first impression was good. Good looking guitar, and sounds good enough if you want to practice with no amplification at your home. Then in the studio of the Guitar Center of Tyler, they allowed me to taste the electronics of the guitar while amplified, and it surprised me in a positive way. The looks of the instrument are gorgeous. When I was buying there were very few reviews for this instrument on internet. I took a leap…. This guitar will not give you real classical sound unplugged. When you plug it in you can play with the sound settings depending on what you have available. I play classical guitar in an ensamble and can add some reverb and even a bit chorus. Being a classical musician I wanted depth and warmth, so you need a good EQ. I use just a bit of piezo and a lot of inside mic but right off the bet with such set up you have feedback issues with volume on the guitar all the way down. So there is the need for anti feedback feature. During live concert I had no choice but to bring the Low frequency down and it was very uncomfortable. The guitar is hot. Despite all of it I like the guitar and I suspect there is a lot of potential with this instrument. When you finally set the sound to your liking it's very rewarding! This combo of under the bridge Pic up and inside mic gives you a lot of room to explore the sound. I took the guitar to my Luther to try to eliminate some bazz especially on 4th string, he was able to somewhat do it via bridge and he said that the freeboard is done quite good and does not need adjustment. I like the playability as well. I have another Yamaha trans acoustic that is absolutely amazing and deep but wanted to expand the range of sound variations. My first guitar was a nylon-string classical guitar made in Spain. The neck was wide as expected, but that wasn't an issue for me when I was 11 years old. However, this guitar's neck is thinner and that's one of the reasons I went with this model. The action is also low right out of the box which I like. It is a joy to play. The sound when unplugged it's good, but the guitar really comes alive when using an amplifier. The built quality is great. And the case that comes with it is very, very good as well. If you want that nylon-string guitar sound with a friendly neck profile and low action, then this is a great choice.Carlos
Excellent instrument . It takes a while to get used again to a wide fingerboard but very good for finger style. I particularly liked the strap button near the heel and first class protective gigbag.. As soon as I picked up this guitar, it felt like it had been my guitar my whole life! The narrow neck and quality craftsmanship make it probably the most playable guitar I've ever gotten my hands on. The materials and look of the guitar are absolutely beautiful, and it sounds even more gorgeous. The pickup and microphone blend option is amazing, so you can play percussion or really capture rhythmic slaps and plucks of your fingerstyle. The cut away gives you that extra freedom near that wonderful area past the 12th fret, and arrived out of the box with perfect intonation across the entire fret board. Cut away doesn't effect the quality of the sound, and also just looks very good. The gig bag is as nice as it gets. I could not be more pleased with this purchase.Colin O
This guitar is really excellent, plenty loud and round sound from the tight-grained cedar top. The saddle and nut are high quality, and the craftsmanship across the rest of the instrument is great! The headstock especially is beautiful. I purchased a scratch and dent instrument, there were several marks in the finish in seemingly random spots, hard to tell exactly what caused them. There were also a few pin-sized bubbles in the finish (specifically near the edges on the body) that easily scratched off, leaving a hole directly to the wood itself. Very minor, but unsure of it was a factory flaw or just the finish being naturally delicate. Of course, it doesn't really affect the sound or playability of this wonderful instrument!Dan
I just received my Solea SA-C guitar in the mail and I could not be happier with how beautiful this instrument is! I am quite literally blown away by the beautiful wood grain of the cocobola back and sides! The fit and finish seems very good although there are a few small imperfections that you can find if you look close but overall this guitar is a gem. I've never owned a classical guitar before and ordered this one after doing some research. I did not want a Chinese made guitar and I wanted all solid wood. I first ordered a Cordoba Solista but it was back ordered so I cancelled and ordered this Solea and I'm happy I did because it's simply gorgeous and sounds exactly how I had imagined it would. Hands down, Washburn gives the best bang for the buck in guitars. I hobby in repairing/building guitars and was very impressed with the quality of this guitar. You could pay a couple hundred dollars more and get something not as good. I have bought other Washburns and continue to be impressed with their products. One was a Washburn steel string Mahogany acoustic. I set it up with a new, bone nut and saddle. The $150 guitar now plays like a $1500 one. I gave it as a gift to my brother and still marvel when I pick it up. Anyway This C5CE clssical is another great product.aleface781
The guitar came promptly within a few days. I haven't found any flaws in this guitar. Action is nice and low with no fret buzz. Came with a nice long cord and truss rod tool. I registered the warranty which i have never had any problems with Wasburn customer service. The electronics amplify all strings evenly. The built in tuner works spot on. So I was looking to get the Ibanez GA35TCE or This Washburn classical guitar. Acoustically both guitars are nice except that the Ibanez was a bit flat from G-E nylon strings. It also had a buzz in the bridge that I did not like however the electrics of the Ibanez were flawless, clean and no hum or hiss. Now the Wshburn, the guitar is a beautiful guitar, nice finish and well made. Acoustically the tone is clearer and more balanced throughout all 6 strings compared to the Ibanez. The ibanez probaby could do with better quality strings to fix the flat sound issue. The Washburn has very good sustain and resonance such that at times other strings start resonating and dirtying the sound – especially when playing solo sections. This may be fixed with a new set of higher end strings which I will chnage after I use the ones that came with it or changing the bridge and nut to graphtech. Maybe I'll switch in the future. The electrics are ok. The electric pickup reporoduced the guitar sound pretty well except that there is a lot of Hiss with the BBand system. The pickup has treble, mid and bass EQ plus a presence knob where you can mold the tone as youplease. It also has a built in tuner that work well. So I sent back the Ibanez and kept the Washburn. The tonal character was much better. If the ibanez goes as a SDOTD sale dirt cheap I will pick it up just because of the cleaner pickup system.Afee

When I went shopping for an upgraded acoustic steel string, I had no idea that my favorite guitar I picked up would end up being a classical hybrid. I had never played a nylon string guitar. I kept coming back to this amazing Alvarez in the store, and had a huge smile on my face every time I played it. It is so comfortable, and the sound is so lovely. I can't quite believe they could build a guitar of this quality for the price, the build and finish are excellent, what you would expect on a guitar costing far more than this. In usage, the neck has the same width as a standard classical but the depth of a steel string, coupled with the thinner body and light weight it makes this guitar extremely comfortable to play. The sound /tonal quality is also excellent, though perhaps due to the thinner body it is "quite" compared to standard classical, this was easily resolved by fitting carbon strings. The only real criticism is there is no dot at the twelfth fret and with the longer neck it can take a bit of getting used to if you are a novice player Overall this is an exceptional guitar for the price, novice or professional, this guitar has something for everyone.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
Overall: You've read reviews by guys who have been playing 40 years and owned every imaginable alternative to the guitar in the ad. Yep, I'm that guy. And this Alvarez CC7CE blows away every other guitar in its category. The tone is balanced, vibrant and responsive, never tubby. Fit and finish flawless. And right out of the box it is the best factory set up on a nylon string I've seen (3mm at the 12th fret, .090 at the first fret, 10mm at the bridge). I did smooth and polish a couple of fret ends and degloss the neck. But Alvarez has done their research and the slightly longer 660mm scale, thinner top and Ramirez-style bracing sing with D'Addario hard tension strings. Very glad I pulled the trigger on this beauty!Mark

But technically, it seems for.me that this guitar presents distortion on some strings, that when vibrating, they touch the steel part of some other threads. Guitar looked fine when I received it. Bought it on sale a little over a year ago and the guitar has developed a haze or blush under the finish that cannot be "buffed out" and looks horrendous. Everyone has told me it is from putting on the finish while the wood still contained moisture. The guitar has a 2-year "repair" warranty but I have to pay to ship both ways and there's no guarantee they'll even do anything. When they receive it they'll decide if its a manufacturing defect or not, which it clearly is. Then, If "they" decide it is, they couldn't tell me exactly what they would do. Is MF going to repaint and refinish the whole guitar, or try to buff it out anyway leaving it in worse condition than when I sent it? Or do absolutely nothing after I pay 40 for shipping both ways? I honestly don't care what their policy is, this is unacceptable, They sold me a defective product and it should be replaced at their expense. I have 2 Electric Ibanez guitars, but I'll never spend another penny at Musicians Friend or on Ibanez.MetalTeK
I twice received this guitar in sub-standard condition. The first one had two scratches and one polishing mishap, all of which were under the final gloss coat (so they couldn't be fixed). I called to request a replacement, was assured that problems like this were unusual, and that they'd send me a replacement right away. When I received it, it was worse than the first. There was a very visible semi-circle indentation about two inches below the sound hole, almost as if they went to stamp the sound hole there and then repositioned the machine. Because I had a gig that weekend and needed a guitar I had to keep one of the blemished versions (I kept the first one), and Musicians Friend did refund me a little money, but it was still quite disappointing. That being said, the guitar itself has a beautiful tone and plays with ease. The onboard tuner is convenient and accurate and I have no complaints about the overall performance.B&B
I am primarily a bass player but I was interested in purchasing a nylon string/classical style acoustic/electric guitar. I had checked out a few costing more at one of the big music stores in town. I then saw the Ibanez and thought I would check it out. I really liked the sound and features And actually thought it sounded better when amplified than one of the more expensive ones I tried. I then saw the one I finally purchased from Music 123 as an returned mint condition item. The price was great compared to a "new" item and it was delivered in mint condition. My only disappointment was that it was advertised as the earlier model that had an XLR output in addition to the standard 1/4" output jack. The newer models only have the 1/4". Also as a cost cutting measure the bridge seems to be a plastic material but does not seem to adversely effect the sound. One thing I do like about it compared to other classical guitars that I looked at is that it has fret markers on the fingerboard. All in all I do think it is a good quality and sounding guitar forr the cost for those wanting to start off learning a nylon string or just wanting to have just another option to play in their collection.

The looks of the instrument are gorgeous. When I was buying there were very few reviews for this instrument on internet. I took a leap…. This guitar will not give you real classical sound unplugged. When you plug it in you can play with the sound settings depending on what you have available. I play classical guitar in an ensamble and can add some reverb and even a bit chorus. Being a classical musician I wanted depth and warmth, so you need a good EQ. I use just a bit of piezo and a lot of inside mic but right off the bet with such set up you have feedback issues with volume on the guitar all the way down. So there is the need for anti feedback feature. During live concert I had no choice but to bring the Low frequency down and it was very uncomfortable. The guitar is hot. Despite all of it I like the guitar and I suspect there is a lot of potential with this instrument. When you finally set the sound to your liking it's very rewarding! This combo of under the bridge Pic up and inside mic gives you a lot of room to explore the sound. I took the guitar to my Luther to try to eliminate some bazz especially on 4th string, he was able to somewhat do it via bridge and he said that the freeboard is done quite good and does not need adjustment. I like the playability as well. I have another Yamaha trans acoustic that is absolutely amazing and deep but wanted to expand the range of sound variations. My first guitar was a nylon-string classical guitar made in Spain. The neck was wide as expected, but that wasn't an issue for me when I was 11 years old. However, this guitar's neck is thinner and that's one of the reasons I went with this model. The action is also low right out of the box which I like. It is a joy to play. The sound when unplugged it's good, but the guitar really comes alive when using an amplifier. The built quality is great. And the case that comes with it is very, very good as well. If you want that nylon-string guitar sound with a friendly neck profile and low action, then this is a great choice.Carlos
Excellent instrument . It takes a while to get used again to a wide fingerboard but very good for finger style. I particularly liked the strap button near the heel and first class protective gigbag.. Hands down, Washburn gives the best bang for the buck in guitars. I hobby in repairing/building guitars and was very impressed with the quality of this guitar. You could pay a couple hundred dollars more and get something not as good. I have bought other Washburns and continue to be impressed with their products. One was a Washburn steel string Mahogany acoustic. I set it up with a new, bone nut and saddle. The $150 guitar now plays like a $1500 one. I gave it as a gift to my brother and still marvel when I pick it up. Anyway This C5CE clssical is another great product.aleface781
The guitar came promptly within a few days. I haven't found any flaws in this guitar. Action is nice and low with no fret buzz. Came with a nice long cord and truss rod tool. I registered the warranty which i have never had any problems with Wasburn customer service. The electronics amplify all strings evenly. The built in tuner works spot on. So I was looking to get the Ibanez GA35TCE or This Washburn classical guitar. Acoustically both guitars are nice except that the Ibanez was a bit flat from G-E nylon strings. It also had a buzz in the bridge that I did not like however the electrics of the Ibanez were flawless, clean and no hum or hiss. Now the Wshburn, the guitar is a beautiful guitar, nice finish and well made. Acoustically the tone is clearer and more balanced throughout all 6 strings compared to the Ibanez. The ibanez probaby could do with better quality strings to fix the flat sound issue. The Washburn has very good sustain and resonance such that at times other strings start resonating and dirtying the sound – especially when playing solo sections. This may be fixed with a new set of higher end strings which I will chnage after I use the ones that came with it or changing the bridge and nut to graphtech. Maybe I'll switch in the future. The electrics are ok. The electric pickup reporoduced the guitar sound pretty well except that there is a lot of Hiss with the BBand system. The pickup has treble, mid and bass EQ plus a presence knob where you can mold the tone as youplease. It also has a built in tuner that work well. So I sent back the Ibanez and kept the Washburn. The tonal character was much better. If the ibanez goes as a SDOTD sale dirt cheap I will pick it up just because of the cleaner pickup system.Afee

It's exactly what you expect. Not quite a classic guitar but will get the job done. I was thinking the smaller neck would be easier to transition to from electric but I'm thinking it may be a little too narrow for me now. I guess I'm use to the feel of a real classical guitar neck and with nylon strings this neck feels too small. Not the manufacturer's fault, the guitar is exactly as described. I could see this being good for someone who's never played a classical guitar though. Tuner and electronics work great and it's a great guitar for the price but if you've played a real classical guitar the neck may feel a little cramped.GT6L6

This is the entry level NTX model. The SDOTD price was a genuine and honest discount. But, the product description was confusing and possibly misleading. It describes an "A.R.T. System61" that is not installed on this guitar. The pickup system on this guitar is the System73. The System73 is a common under-saddle piezo strip configuration. The System61 is the Yamaha proprietary technology that is installed on all other NXT models. There is a noticeable 'runout' effect between the top halves of the sound board. Otherwise, the seam between the halves is impossible to discern. In fact, there were no seams, joins or gaps visible anywhere on the outside of this guitar. The neck and head stock are a work of art. To reiterate, the top is two spruce planks, the back and sides could be Okume or Nato. Yamaha does not list these woods as being laminated. Okume is an African hardwood and Nato is from South America. Both are considered acceptable mahogany substitutes. My guitar was made in China and sounds good enough given my untutored ear. The guitar has a truss rod, the 'urea' saddle is angled and uncompensated. My intonation and string height did not need adjustment. The NXT500's 'Slim' neck and nylon tones make this guitar hard to put down. Its also very light. I have several other steel string acoustics but I played this guitar exclusively for over a week, mostly unplugged. It plays well in my living room with a Fender Acoustasonic 15. The on-board tuner and rear-pointed tuning keys were convenient and comforting. I used them both a lot… btw, do nylon strings ever break in? The SKB-30 Deluxe Thin-Line guitar case fits this guitar perfectly. I'm very happy with my new guitar, I bought this after play many models for more than 2 hours in the local store in Orlando. The Cordoba was my selection because this have a sweet sound, is very soft to play acords that require a large elongation, is very comfortable, is a "Impeccable" guitar. Really I recommend this guitar for enthusiast players!
Overall: I have to say I am very happy with my guitar. It is great unplugged, and even better going through a PA. I play a lot of classical, but also James Taylor, Paul Simon, etc. and the guitar works perfectly for that style as well. I am also very impressed by the customer service at zZounds. I had a problem with the first guitar I purchased and without hesitation they found a solution for me. Overall very satisfied with everything, the guitar is beautiful. I played many others in looking and this one stood out right away, strong sound, easy to play. Highly recommend.

I bought this guitar in 1986 for college classical guitar study. It was recommended by a great guitarist that worked at my favorite shop, and the price was right. This instrument is simple, inexpensive, and well made. I added a Shadow pickup almost immediately, and upgraded the tuning machines, also. Although I did not continue with classical guitar study for long, I've played the Takamine daily for years. I've used it on hundreds of gigs and several recordings. Most of my playing uses electric guitar or steel string acoustic. I have many electrics, a few steel string acoustics, but this is still my only classical guitar. The design is truly classic. As for scale length and neck width, just about identical specs to Segovia's. The tone is very warm and improves as time goes by. Some professional classical player friends have commented on what a great, responsive instrument it is. I would not recommend the 132 for flamenco as the tone is not nearly bright enough. I have tried every king of string in an attempt to make it more flamenco, but this is a classical only guitar.Becksbelews
Overall: BUYER BEWARE! purchased this $1400 guitar to challenge my growth learning classical guitar and an upgrade from my Cordoba GK Studio, so i thought. wanted electronics to facilitate recording and thought the idea of cool tube sounded "cool." since delivery have never heard the guitar amplified, using the internal electronics without distortion, because there is an "chirping" artifact in the electronics that is totally distracting. have tested through every piece of electronics i have, still the same story. on top of that, the indicator lights for the cool tube do not work properly so i can't tell when the cool tube part of preamp is on or not, so it drains the batteries which it eats like no tomorrow then i can't even tune it. contacted takamine/esp 3 times to no avail. they simply ignored my inquires despite providing my warranty information. so, i am saddled with a $1400 acoustic/electric classical that i can only use acoustically. i was concerned initially when an electric guitar company bought out takamine and sure enough my reservations were realized. When I decided to get a nylon guitar, it was a toss up between the Taylor 914 or the Tak TH90. I have several custom Taylors and it was easier for me to pick a nylon Taylor. However, my experience with my nylon Tak TH8SS was not easy to disregard. I decided and opted for the Takamine TH90 and I am so glad I did for two major reasons. Firstly, when I play a nylon guitar, I gravitate around finger style playing that borders classical and flamenco. The Tak has the true dimensions of a true classical guitar fingerboard. Secondly, off the box, the Tak plays like a seasoned and matured solid wood instrument. It is loud and bright! I have the impression that its a small guitar but putting it side by side the TH8SS, the difference in dimensions are almost indistinguishable. Did I say its loud and bright? – not to mention the sound that the guitar makes when it is plugged in. I use an acousticube and the electronics of this guitar is far advanced than the TH8SS by the sound it produces! However, ultimately, one's decision comes down to the kind of music you play and where your comfort zone is.

I have had no trouble with my GC5CE Classical guitar. I am new to guitar playing. I have played this guitar everyday for over a month and it has worked great. I have read where the G5 series of Takamine is inferior to the higher priced Tak's. This guitar is as good as any guitar I have played. I also have a Big Baby Taylor guitar that I have trouble playing because of the 1 11/16 nut width. I am glad I went to a classical. The GC5CE has made the difference.Bristol
I have a La Patrie Etude model classical which now are made using the Godin name but still called the Etude model. It has a solid Cedar top and sells for about $600.00 new without a preamp or cutaway body. The Takamine sounds better unplugged than the Godin La Patrie which is made in Canada. The La Patrie is a nice sounding guitar in its own right but again the Takamine does sound better. I bought the Takamine new from Sweetwater a couple months ago and for what you get it seems like a fair value for the money.

This guitar seems beautifully made and sounds wonderful. I have only had it for a few days but I am finding the slim neck, 48mm at the nut is extremely well suited to my smaller finger length. I am very happy with the purchase and competitive price paid. I have used it on facebook and it sounds great with lots of comments on the sound and look of the guitar. My only disappointment with the guitar is the very small fret markers fitted, they are difficult to see clearly for people with eye problems. this is only a minor point and does not detract from the quality of the instrument. This is an ovation classic 1773ax-4 nylon string acoustic/electric guitar with built-in pickups and volume/tone controls. it is in very good condition with just a few cosmetic blemishes including some scuff marks on the back, an example of which is shown in one of the photos. it also has some tiny finger scratches on the top under the strings. otherwise it is in excellent condition, with perfect intonation and very good action. it comes with the original form fitted case and a leather strap.

Die Lieferung und Abwicklung des Auftrages verlief tadellos! Dafür vielen Dank! Die Ovation ist zu 99% perfekt! Kleinigkeiten am Griffbrett zum Schallloch weisen Klebereste auf, sowie ein kleiner Kratzer am Korpus – hätte besser sein können. Hals und Bundstäbchen sind sauber verarbeitet. Die Decke hat eine gute Maserung und sprich sehr gut an. Der Sound und die Bespielbarkeit sind klasse, klingt halt nach Ovation! Ich würde mir dieses Instrument auf jeden Fall wieder kaufen, wenn ich sie nicht schon hätte.Matthias
I did not know that "Ovation" guitars are now made in Korea. I thought that was only the "Ovation Celebrity" line. This guitar does feel and play well but the quality is less than the American-made 6868LX I used to have. It seems to have a non-standard output jack. I finally found a cord that will work with it without losing sound but I will definitely replace when I restring. Also, this guitar does not fit straight in the case. Overall, not a bad guitar just not what I expected from Ovation.One and Five Man
This nylon string guitar is about as good as it gets. The sound is Ovation "ultimate" all the way. As cosmetically beautiful as it's sound, I was surprised to see it when I opened the case for the first time. My only wish was that it was a super shallow bowl. I prefer a thinline type but that's just me. The tuner works great and the Ovation pickup is the best on the planet for acoustic sound and at your desired volume. The Ovation pickup produces each note on every fret exactly relevant to each other (with no note too loud or too soft) I recommend any Ovation acoustic guitar for the best in sound and quality build for the money.
