Im really digging this guitar. I needed a travel guitar for some upcoming trips and went through the rungs. Tried the martin backpacker and traveler rm sp, but neither met my needs. The martin limits you to 15 frets and the rm sp wasnt that much smaller than my Taylor GS mini. Weve got a young one and traveling with him brings a whole slew of extra things that have to be included in a trip. My wife was not having us give up one of our carry-ons for a guitar and case. The ultra-light is perfect, and I can throw it in my back pack (in its case) with just a little of the neck hanging out. Thus, not having to give up a carry-on. Its perfect. Went with the electric too over the acoustic/electric version because of the tune-o-matic type bridge and saddles. Stellar product. Lastly, the size and sound unplugged are perfection for playing around on with others in the room and not bothering them. It actually makes me play more now.
I never knew why some guitarists have a favorite guitar and even name them. (I own several higher-end guitars and to me, they're just tools.) I purchased a black Traveler Ultra-Light some time in 2019 thinking it was a "cheapie" but good enough to stuff in an overhead bin of an airliner whenever I traveled. I was certainly impressed at how the guitar played and how well it was made, despite the low price. Since then it's been with me everywhere. But that's not how it came to be my favorite guitar. Last November I was hospitalized for 4 days. Because of Covid going around, I couldn't have visitors so I asked my wife to bring me my Traveler so I wouldn't be bored to death. That's when I fell in love with this little guitar. Because I had my own room and because my vitals were checked every hour, I spent a LOT of time playing. And because of its size and how light it was, I could play it in bed. AND it kept my mind off of what I was going through… a big plus for the road to recovery. Today, I purchased my second one in Torino Red and ordered some blacked-out locking tuners so I can keep it at my other place out of state. As for the black one, I'm not leaving that anywhere…. it's staying here with me!
I love this little guitar. I bought mine from the GC store. I have Taylor GS mini for my RV, but it's still too big and too loud in a small rv with others. I saw the Traveller guitars and thought I'd go to a GC and try it out. I'm too new at this so got the GC sales person to play so I could hear the difference using a big amp. The ones with the pickups were hot and a little bitey for me as I only really play acoustic. The Piezo pickup acoustic sounded mellow and it was on the guitarathon sale for 100 dollars off. That tipped it for me. It's small, extremely light and when unplugged, extremely quite quiet. It's so small, I'm finding that I pick up this one more than the regular guitars. Bear in mind, it's not acoustic or electric, so it's not going to sound like anything else. I bought a headphone amp and also use a regular amp when I can be loud. When practicing unplugged at night, it's loud enough for me, but nobody else can hear it. Also, I've found that if I press it tightly to my side, the lower notes reverberate in my chest. With the acoustic pickup there is no tone or volume controls, so everything has to be done through the amp. I'm getting used to that. With no body and only the wire bottom, it takes a little time before it begins to feel normal. The only negative is if I don't hit the notes perfect, I can get some fret buzz. All in all, it's so different from any other guitar, I would suggest trying it in person first. You will either love it or hate it. And remember it's a small travel guitar you can also use regularly. Play it both amplified and unplugged and see if you think it will work for you.Mike

Going into buying this, I was looking for a travel/mini guitar for a project idea I have, and also because I have muscle weakness from an autoimmune condition. So a lightweight guitar would be ideal for me, especially to have around on the couch and stuff for daily use. I almost bought Squier Minis, a purple Hofner Shorty, and a Fernandes ZO-3 before finding this beauty. I was stunned when I saw it only weighs 1.2 pounds and it's acoustic/electric, something I really didn't expect to find in the guitars I was looking at. I gotta admit, I almost got misty-eyed thinking about what it'd be like to have a 1 pound acoustic/electric guitar and all of the possibilities that would open up for me compared to heavier guitars. Especially playing standing up, which is hard for me with even smaller or 3/4 size guitars much of the time. I had no intention of selling my full size electric guitar going into this purchase, but it's nearly the same color, needs amplification, and it weighs the same as like, six of these! So it seemed redundant and I sold it, which funded the purchase of this one in the end. Some folks may only like traditional instrument materials and designs, but I think this design is incredible and such an excellent example of "universal design." This product is usable by so many people who might struggle to use traditional acoustic and electric guitars both. Bravo for designing this amazing guitar, I love it so much and now I can play music more before I get tired out 🙂

I have owned the traveler molten lava edge guitar now for about three weeks. I must say I cannot take it out of my hands. Truly love playing it. I really thought it would be a gimmick that wouldn’t work for me and I would be sending it back. Now that I have been playing it, I want to order me a custom edge. And I will probably get a few more. My mahogany Traveler Escape arrived yesterday from Musician's Friend. Looking at the label on the inside box it is fresh inventory just delivered to MF a few weeks ago. The build quality is quite nice. It tunes well, it intonates well, sounds like solid body guitar acoustically (loud enough for practice in a quiet room), and can sound quite good amplified. I played one 5 years ago and at the time was not able to get a decent portable amplified tone, but today's amplification options have really broadened. Into a Fender Tone Master Deluxe Reverb (also from MF) set with bass/treble on 5 and some reverb, all I had to do was slightly tweak back the treble and bass on the guitar for a very good acoustic guitar like tone. Maybe not exactly a mic'd D28 but musical and pleasant. I can get to the same place with a Mustang Micro (also from MF) headphone amp into a Bluetooth speaker AUX input. I've found two Bluetooth speakers where the AUX inputs work well with the Mustang Micro. Not all Bluetooth speakers sound good at all so try a few. Now I've got the same great tone to go. The bottom line is the magic of a Fender Deluxe Reverb really does great stuff to the Piezo UST in this guitar (and probably many other guitars with similar pickups) and would not likely be your first thought on how to sweeten the amplified tone.Jon F.
I bought this to replace my usual travel guitar, an old Gibson acoustic. The top split on my last trip. I don't want to travel with my L-00 or any of my other guitars so I got this to replace my usual travel guitar which is now my beach guitar. This B-stock Escape Mark III is just so convenient. Small, lightweight, full scale, it's just so easy to pick up and practice on. With headphones I can practice all the time without disturbing the entire house. Just a great instrument. The piezo pickup was a little too brittle for me played directly to headphones. But a Fender Mustang Micro headphone amp into a clean Fender Black Face Deluxe amp model and some spring reverb does wonders. Another good option is going directly or even better through the Mustang Micro into the Aux input of a Bluetooth speaker. Not all Bluetooth speakers handle this well and are compact enough to fit in the Escape's gig bag pouch. Two good option I've found are the Klipsch Groove II and the Bose Soundlink Revolve+. The MKIII is nicely built for its price point. The top binding is a bit sharp and with a little carpet tape I attached an arm rest I made from cherry. It gives the guitar a slightly bigger feel. In my lap it’s as comfortable to play as my PRS McCarty Thinline. It tunes smoothly and stays in tune. It came perfectly set up for action, intonation, and neck relief. I did swap out the factory strings and suggest changing strings three at a time to keep the hardware in-place. Changing strings takes some practice to get right. Just a perfect companion for modern air travel with jammed overhead compartments. Even with priority boarding you can't be sure you can make your connections on-time to count on carrying-on anything larger.

This is a "better than nothing" guitar that will help maintain your callouses but not do much to help your playing beyond that. It's weighted incorrectly, it doesn't stay in tune, it has an awkward playing position etc. etc. It's a great concept, but poorly executed. It's easier to play with a strap. Size-wize, it does not fit inside a carry-on luggage bag, so you'd still have to carry it on your back like a backpack. I haven't attempted to bring it on a flight yet, so we shall see. I got it on-sale for just under two hundred, and I have brought it on short weekend getaway trips several times. I probably spent more time tuning it and re-tuning it than enjoying playing it. Still, like I mentioned, it's better than nothing. And, I am still happy to have bought it- though I wish it were better. I would recommend it only marginally. I bought this not so much as a traveler , but as a guitar that was easy to always be within reach. Take to the park, beach and backyard. Maybe muted sports on tv and Traveler Guitar in hand. And B-stock? Really? I looked and looked, found one small spot that may be reason for B stock designation. I have seen new top name guitars with more “issues”. While you wont get a full blown acoustic experience, the build and playable quality is pretty solid enough to warrant not being bored or frustrated with, no sharp edges, no horrible not staying in tune, or sticky frets and excessive buzz. The portability of this is astounding, and works great as a practice guitar for when you cant play a full one is a real plus. You have a full scale neck, and when you plug in, you can really put the guitar to recording or amplification use via modeling or effects. It's shipped with extra light 10s and I think heavier gauges would not be ideal for this. But in contrast the light strings make for a bit of a fast play, electric like in feel and will definitely keep you engaged. The cons are just what you sacrifice to have easy access to a guitar to play on and transport. Not comfortable back bracing, a diving neck (but then it's not heavy really), a metal attachment that digs in a bit. Get a simple strap hook up and your problems are solved. Also as a tip, it's a simple guitar, if you find a blemished one or a sale at a good price it's a stupid good deal, and are you going to really care if something like this is banged up to begin with? Makes for a lot of fun, and a chance to play/practice anywhere.GuitarJunkie

Great little acoustic guitar. I bought it to learn and practice on. Having a lot of success. Sounds great and stays in tune. I really love the neck, and the size and shape of it. This is a great tiny guitar for travelling. I changed the strings to D'Addario Custom Light EJ26 right when I got it. I also glued bonded leather to one side of guitar to stop it from constantly sliding down my thigh when played (the guitar is neck heavy). Pros: good quality very beautiful stays in tune the neck is full scale bag included great size for children would be great for a person who likes to play while standing . Cons: the sound is a little bit shallow (because the body size is small). Bass is very tiny. feels awkward in hands due to small size and being neck heavy no electronicsluckyhamsterhandmade

The hofner shorty was first produced back in the 1980s and hofner continue to offer this compact travel guitar for those guitarists who can't bear to be without a guitar even when on holiday! the hofner shorty offers full scale length combined with such small overall dimensions that it can be taken anywhere. it fits easily into the overhead locker on most aircraft for example. the compact size also makes it perfect for lounging on your couch and noodling on the shorty! including a hofner gigbag.changing the strings on a shorty guitar. it is necessary to remove the bridge to change the strings. completey slacken all strings and remove from the tuners. slacken the 2 large bridge retaining screws, pull back the bridge and lift it out. the old strings can now be removed and new strings attached to the underside of the bridge. replace the bridge and gently tighten the 2 screws. the new strings can now be wound onto the appropriate tuners.

Okay this product is good. The pickup is fine and it's a great amount of fun. BUT: The fret work is terrible. Really. They stick out of the neck, and it feels like playing with sandpaper on your fingers. Terrible rash after half an hour of playing, still has not worn off. Also the action is really bad and the second fret is buzzing like crazy on mine. I need to get that fixed, but I hoped to get it working right off the box as I am travelling a lot and don't have time to take care of my guitars (which is why I took this one). Overall if the item and the object is really fun and smart and cool (you really get that "cool" factor when playing live and people notice and start laughing at your baby-sized guitar. Also includes a "cute" factor for those who are into that.) But the quality is really poor and needs quite a bit of work to be really useful without cutting your hand. Also a mild annoyance, but the headstock is not blue. I selected this one because the picture showed a blue headstock and it looked cooler than the black one. I got the black one. Minor annoyance, still an annoyance. I would not make this choice again I think, or be prepared to go to the guitar store and invest an additional 100 dollars in fret work and proper setting.pauwohre_0
I purchased this guitar a few years ago and it is my go-to ever since whether I am at home or while traveling. I have rather small hands and not very good stretch so it makes playing my other guitars rather painful after an extended period of time. I like playing this guitar because even though it has a full scale fretboard, everything just feels smaller in my hands when I play it. The width of the neck is smaller than my other guitars makes it easier for me to reach and my hands don't get as fatigued as easily. The sound is great! I only play for fun and have a small 100W amp but it sounds excellent no matter whether I'm playing metal or jazz. The only problem I have with it is there is a little bit of fret buzz when I am playing certain notes. It is not really a problem with the instrument itself. I ordered this by mail and never had it set up after it arrived. I am not comfortable doing it myself so I will have to take it into the store whenever I get the chance. A solid four stars. Travel guitars all have their limitations and this one is certainly no exception. But despite those limitations this instrument fulfilled its needs on a recent trip. Which is why I waited to write this review until after it was used for its intended function. It's size and weight were convenient for traveling through airports and overhead bins. It was durable despite being mashed by other carry on luggage. It was fun to play through Vox classic rock plug in amp with ear buds but difficult to stay in tune. Also used a basic leather strap with rough suede to compensate for awkward weight distribution. This kept the strap from sliding in that the guitar is neck heavy. All travel guitars like the Traveler series suffer the same malady. The Neck is straight as an arrow and the action is very good. Haven't changed the strings yet but the stop tailpiece is adjacent to the pickup which may make string changes difficult. All in all, I would not gig with this guitar but for the money it served its purpose preparing for a gig upon my return. A good value overall with some limitations.Rockinvet

Selling my travel guitar to downsize my collection. it's about the size of a ukulele (29.4" long and 8.3" wide), and it weighs 3.95lbs.the neck is true and the frets are level. the frets have been dressed to get rid of sharp edges, and polished for smooth bends. all accessories are present (gig bag, adjustment tools). i'm also including a mandolin armrest i paid $50 for, which helps with forearm comfort and guitar positioning.there is a 0.5" by 0.25" dent along one of the front edges (shown in pictures). the dent is cosmetic, and does not affect the functionality of the instrument.

This is an absolutely great guitar!! It's small size is deceptive but it sounds like a full size guitar 100%. I have the black one and it is super easy and convenient to take around and get some practice in when a full size guitar is not practical. The way the designer scaled everything down, it doesn't feel weird going between a full size and this one. I took mine on vacation and have used it as an extra layer when tracking guitars during recording. Also, it is great for little people, young players, or players with smaller hands. In general the Guitar is nice the only issues I have with this Guitar is the fret sprout is terrible, like shred your fingers bad. I was disappointed greatly by this. A guitar at this price point should have a better quality neck and finish. I have no issues with the quality of the rest of the guitar. I own other brand traveler guitars and the necks on the others are better. Improve the finish work on the necks and you will have a good product. Samiamyourhandyman

Being a long haul truck driver, I wanted something that would move easy, store easy, be generally lightweight, and not take up much space. Weight and space are at a premium in trucks and this little number does the job. What I like about it: that Washburn feel. The neck is great, I love it. One of the machine heads on mine has the screw mounted backwards, but I think it adds character. Construction seems solid, I've been running around with it for a few weeks and so far so good. Came with all the advertised stuff, including backpack style straps for the case. Haven't had the instructional DVD out, but if I do I'll re-do this review. Cons: Sounds kind of dinky. Well, it is tiny. I was expecting a small guitar, I got a teeny little itty bitty guitar with a fullsize neck. I was advised to put some light Nanoweb strings on it, so I did and it cleaned the sound up and evened the tone. It still sounds pretty small, but you're not going to have a small guitar that sounds big without spending all the money on a higher-end instrument. I'd love a Baby Taylor, but I bought this because I didn't want my expensive guitars beating around in the truck. The case is nice, tight fit, seeminly sturdy construction, not a ton of space but room for my scale deck, a tuner, pile of picks and a couple other little knickknacks. If you're looking for something you can drag around everywhere you go to whip out and pick whenever the mood strikes you, this is it. I got the black finish and it is nice, little white trim and a nice matte black everywhere else. And the price is so nice, if I accidentally back over it with the truck I won't cry. This is a great little travel guitar in an inexpensive but complete package. The carrying case is compact enough to fit in an overhead bin, and very durable constructed. Some reviewers have complained about the head stock being a tight fit, but the foam is compressible and can be molded to accommodate the tuners. The guitar is well constructed and with proper attention to the important details: the neck is well proportioned, binding is neatly applied, and the satin finish is comfortable to the touch. Unlike Martin's Backpacker, this guitar has a fully functional trussrod, so setup is no problem. A spare bridge blank is supplied, so feel free to adjust the action. The smallish frets are consistent and feel good. The small, shallow body is well constructed, but it does contribute to the instrument's two drawbacks: tone and balance. Don't expect concert tone from a travel guitar. It just isn't going to happen. The balance issue is a problem if you want to play seated without a strap. The strap (included) is pretty essential to playing comfortably. The body could have been designed with another inch all the way around without sacrificing portability, but it is what it is. The Washburn Rover…what a cool little travel guitar. First off, do NOT buy this thinking you will get a full-sized guitar sound…you will be disappointed. I like the Rover's tone. It's different…kind of like a cross between a 3/4 size guitar with a sound hole cover installed and a dulcimer. Before ordering the Rover, I tried both it and the Martin Backpacker locally. I preferred the Rover's sound and feel over the Backpacker. The more traditional body shape of the Rover makes it sit more comfortably than the Backpacker's triangle body. The neck has a really nice, solid feel. The backpacker's hard foam case is a REALLY great feature as well. It played OK out of the box (the neck's truss rod needed an adjustment). Then I did some tweaking to personalize it…as I always do. Lowered the action a hair, lemon oiled the fretboard, etc…all to bring it to my preferences. It's very solidly built. It has no problem staying in tune (I tend to strum aggressively at times) and isn't affected by weather/ humidity changes very much. The 24" scale is nice. The neck and fretboard have a nice, smooth feel, easy fretting of chords, little to no fret buzz, etc. Works well w/ a basic Kyser capo. Wanting to "plus" it a bit, I installed a Fishman AG series saddle pickup. It sounds awesome. Very clean when run DI. I use an EQ pedal to help boost the signal and tweak the frequency levels. Now it's the ultimate travel acoustic/electric. I've used it live with great results. It records really nicely using a single USB studio condenser mic and has added some excellent and interesting textures to recordings. Again, don't buy this expecting a dreadnought tone…but it is a cool and unique instrument.JTSolo

Just took delivery of a used Hofner shorty bass in black. Lovely instrument. Fit and finish was fine. I had to do a little bit of intonation setting which took no time. The neck is better than expected. Frets are finished properly and the neck has a nice satin finish. Its not to wide, not too thick and feels great. The pickup delivers and even sound across the strings. There are no dead spots. Volume and tone controls work great and the knurled knobs feel very good. I was able to dial in some of my preferred sounds using the VPF control on my Markbass Blackline 250 going through a Markbass NY604 cabinet. I was also liking the sounds going through an Eden World Tour preamp. Im looking forward to rehearsal tomorrow using the Eden directly into an EV ZLX 12 powered cabinet. The bass came professionally packed and really appeared to be new. Love the padded Hofner gig bad with the logo on it. All in all a great small, inexpensive (but not cheap) bass for practice, performance and especially travel.Miguel404
First of all, this bass is just what I wanted for practicing when traveling. Compact, 24 frets, decent electronics and comes with a gig bag. Intonation was pretty good too. I did adjust the intonation, but that's really only because I'm kind of fussy about intonation. One thing I will say is I had never experienced "neck dive" until I owned this bass like. in the resting position, the bass headstock will point right down to 5 o'clock. Since this is a practice instrument, I made some modifications. I put weight in the body cavity, but the body cavity is not huge, so with extra weight, I could get the neck to hang in the resting position at about 3 o'clock. I next removed the front strap pin and drilled a 3/8" in diameter hole 2" into the body at the same angle as the strap pin screw. I purchased 3/8" aluminum round stock and cut it to 7.5". 2" would insert into the body and 5.5" would remain outside to mount the strap button while extending out to nearly the 12th fret. I painted the round stock black (primer and paint). I mounted (drilled and epoxied) the strap button on the end of the round stock. I think epoxied the extender into the body. It looks pretty darned good and now the bass balances perfectly.Kevin1014
I have to say I’m so impressed with my new Hofner Shorty ct Bass. I’m used to gigging for years with Monster weighted P basses so the Shorty is such a relief. …. Like Air. Because body is so small it does allow this neck dip everyone cites but with a strap and playing on stage it’s not a problem. The quality and finish is flawless and was Lucy to get a Rosewood neck on mine not one of those horrible Jotoba Cites ones (Though fully understand we have to save planet somehow). The guitar sounds like any Bass circa £300-£500 bass and means you can leave your Musicman and Fenders at home in Studio. Great for touring Bassists who just want easy gigging experience. This little traveler plays like a bigger guitar. Compaq when broken down and travels very well. This is my second purchase of a traveler guitar because I wanted the acoustic version. The gimmicky stethoscope works very well, surprisingly so! Also, the pick ups work much better than I would expect from a little guitar like this. Its rugged, and gets very interesting looks from the TSA. If youre traveling, this is worth the purchase.
This is the second of these that I have owned. The first one was unfortunately stolen. It's got great playability, and good tones, especially with all the pickup configurations on this model. I have had people come up to me and ask about it, specifically so that they can have a portable guitar that won't produce much sound acoustically. The only thing I wish it had (and it's not enough of an issue to dock it a star, just a small preference) would be a built in preamp. I have to get an external unit in order to use my headphones, and I wish that Traveler Guitar made the preamp standard.
Looks and feels slick. Light at around 2Kg with bag. Plays with a low action with minimal buzz. A bit concerned at the amplification, having interfaced to two amps and got muted and stunted sound. But want audio to be good in headphones, so will be buying a headphone amplifier. Currently tossing up between a plug-in (that can be bought to desired sound e.g. Lead, Blues etc..) that interfaces to earplugs; or earphones with built-in sound amplification and synthesis (around twice as expensive). I don't know how the Traveler guitar pick-ups will behave, so I'll have to take the guitar into a music shop.

I started taking lessons again after a long break. I bought this to take with me on my trips, as an airline pilot I'm on the road constantly. It's perfect to sit in my hotel and play, and the size makes it easy to travel with. The neck is a great size and the action right out of the box was perfect. I can plug in the headphone amp and play no matter what time of the day or night it is. I'm glad I picked this up.
I have always wanted a guitar small enough and rugged enough to take on deployments and military exercise. It is quiet enough to play in open bay barracks while others sleep, or I can tune out the clowns and play in my rack using the stethophone headset. This Pro-series Traveler Guitar is everything I was looking for. As a bonus it has already stood up to the beatings of my 3 year old son who broke my last guitar within 24 hours of purchase. I don't think I will ever need another guitar; but you know how it goes.
Ordered this because I do a lot of traveling for work and play. Hated taking my main guitars on any trip due to theft and damage risk. This beauty is just what the doctor ordered. I originally had Sweetwater put heavier electric strings on it to toughen up the sound. Big mistake. Changed the strings to light acoustic bronze ones from Elixir, and that made it nearly perfect! The stethophone is my favorite method of playing. The true acoustic sound is as huge as my Ovation Celebrity Elite, without the volume to disturb others. When I plug in a VOX headphone amp or other headphone, the pickup cranks out like a Strat on bridge position. When plugged into a serious amp, all doubts about this guitar's capabilities disappear immediately. The sound is everything any of my Strats or SGs can pump out, period. I would gladly play this axe in any situation. The quality is excellent. I have had it for about 4 years now, and I never travel without it. Even on a motorcycle trip, it can be easily carried in backpack mode or strapped to saddlebags. When strapped to the saddlebags, it does not interfere with riding in any way. Would give 10 stars if I could!

I purchased this because I am a commercial transporter / truck driver. Being a transporter is very different than your average semi conductor. I jump from truck to truck all the time after I deliver a unit for a particular company. Predominantly traveling all over North America after every job / drop off, I go to the airport and fly to the next job. I have only ever seen people in the review videos for the LTD model and other guitars talk about vacation. Well this is a review for me independent contractor who travels for a living. I'm sure everybody knows the features and the specifications if they are interested in buying this guitar. The four model built-in amp gives you plenty of tone wrench in conjunction with half stacks etc. The volume knob in conjunction with the built-in model amp should be used to also find a sweet spot of every particular model. Overall it's a great product that I will be putting through its paces since I am a real traveler, the LTD EC model has a great pick up with a copious amount of sustain. This guitar was made in China if anybody has any misgivings about it irregardless it's a great product for somebody who wants to write, practice and or record on the road. There's plenty of smaller interfaces and smartbooks/laptops as well as tablets you could record with. I plan on putting it through its paces, it was worth the $700 considering all you get for the quality of the instrument. The only complaint I have is the destination and action out of the box leaves are to be desired. I purchased it from Amazon perhaps if you buy it from their personal store or a music distributor it'll come with better set up than mine.
This has become my "go-to" guitar since it was released from its (excellent BTW) packaging. The EC-1 V2 "fits" exactly the way I like to play and was in tune right out of the box. I have since added locking tuners from Traveler and this instrument is a true joy to play…and take with you absolutely anywhere! My flying trips have VASTLY diminished since Corona, but it fits wonderfully in my SUV! Overall this is an outstanding offering by Travelers Guitars. Ot has on board headphone amp, preamp that rivals my Fender and great intonation. I also own a Traveler Pro (that my girl friend has claimed) and an Ovation Custom Elite. Great job Travler Guitar…outstanding line of instruments…STRONGLY recommend!
The Traveler guitars are great little instruments. They have a good build quality and feel solid and well made. The humbucker pickup sounds good and the fretwork is very nice, with no fret sprout or rough edges. The only problem I had was with tuning stability. I believe this is from the slightly cheap tuning machines. I installed some Grover mini locking tuners and now it holds tune really well. The onboard electronics are okay and the distortion is kind of high gain and a bit shrill. The clean is more than adequate and sounds good in headphones. The guitar sounds great through a standard amplifier. I highly recommend one of these if you need something to satisfy your urge to rock whilst on the road.kingpicks

Do yourself a favor and pass on this very strange instrument. You are much better off with a standard acoustic bass that has far better tone, is easier to set up, stays in tune better, and is easier to play. Changing strings is a royal pain and it's not particularly well balanced. A fair price for this Asian bass would be about $100 max. Dull looking wood as well.kraigster414
Okay, as the title says, this is my first left handed bass. I've only messed around with right handed equipment & I've always felt discouraged to play but when this came in yesterday & I took it out of the box, it felt right. I still have to tune it right, no complaint, every instrument needs to be tuned but still, I hooked it up & it sounded beautiful to me. She's a wonder. I love the feel of it in my hands, fits just right with me. As a left hander I gotta say, this baby is perfect.the_atheist
