First things first this guitar is amazing. Exactly as described and plays great. This was my first acoustic guitar and I had several questions about this one versus a few other models. Josh answered many questions that I had about this one and was extremely patient and informative with his responses. I will recommend anyone to reach out to them to see if they can help you. This is an amazing guitar for the money. I've owned Martin D18's that didn't sound this good! I used to play Bluegrass at one time and at any given point owned 4 or 5 Martins. This guitar could sell for $1000 and it would still be a good deal. This guitar is loud and has great tone with a good punch, but can be mellow as well. I'm blown away with the workmanship, quality and sound. I defy you to find a better guitar for the money.Mike S.

Overall, I'd say that I'm very happy with the guitar. It plays well, and it sounds great. I had to tweak it a bit, though. It had a respectable amount of bow in the neck when I received it. I've torqued most of it out, but I have the truss rod tightened as far as I dare to. The action is still a bit high at the 12th fret, but I'll take care of that when I change out the strings. It sounds very chimey and bright with no bottom end at all, hopefully a beefier set of strings will help with that. Skinny frets, I wish they were a bit more robust. String spacing (between pairs) isn't consistent between the nut and the bridge, I may notch the bridge a bit to eliminate that. Otherwise, it's a beautifully built guitar and a great value for the price. You won't be disappointed.

Well, after I got it, I could play all the solos I couldn't really play clean. I guess the other guitar really was bad, or this one is great. Funny thing, I had a really good player tell me to not buy this model but the more expensive one. Well, I'm glad I decided to go with this one. This guitar sounds great and it's extremely easy to play. The guitar stays in tune fairly well for a 12 string guitar. The action is low. I haven't tried it the electronics aside from the tuner which works fairly well compared to my snark. I do have a Taylor and Martin guitar, and the tone on this guitar is pretty clean.Juan

I have not played in a band for a while, but getting back into practice and plan to start back with some solo acoustic gigs. I typically play steel string acoustics. I wanted a quality nylon string guitar without the wide flat neck of a standard classical guitar. This is it. Extremely well made with quality woods (no laminates) that has a great sound (both amplified and unplugged). It does not have a large body and projection is somewhat limited when playing unplugged but has incredible sound both amplified and not amplified. Can be played quietly when everyone else has gone to sleep, or can flood the house with music if they're awake. The action and intonation on this guitar was fabulous right out of the box and I didn't have to make any setup adjustments. This is an awesome guitar and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nylon string acoustic.John
In 1981 I had three guitars, two of them acoustics, and one of those was an Ovation Country Artist–a nylon-string guitar with a 14 fret, comparatively narrow neck. It was my first good guitar, but when I left for grad school, I kept only a Martin OO-18, and sold the Ovation. In the 30 years since, I have been trying to find a replacement, I tried various Ibanez and Yamaha guitars, but they didn't have what it took. Then, a couple of months ago, needing a brain break, I left work and took myself to the acoustic room at Sam Ash. There was another guy in there playing, so I looked for a quiet instrument, and took this one down off the wall. Immediately, I knew that it was special. The clarity of the tone, and the richness of the bass, it was all there. The other guy liked the sound too, and soon we were jamming and telling stories. Both of us tried other neoclassical guitars, and agreed that this one was best. I loved the guitar at first note, but when I looked at the price tag, I knew I could never own it. So I bought (online) a similar guitar, but it lacked the feel and sound of this one. My wife heard me playing, asked what I thought about the similar guitar I'd bought, and I explained that it wasn't the same. Then she told me to buy this one. So I did, And I have been playing it daily since then. The OO-18 is still with me and still gets some time, but right now my fingers itch to play and hear this one. Did it replace my long-gone Country Artist? Not exactly–this Takamine is significantly superiod to the Country Artist in all respects. Even if I don't play it plugged in 🙂Andy M_S

I've had this twice and I must admit I was pleasantly surprised by the portion of prawns it held. The curry is very mild and heavily capsicum-based so one must like this. For me its too bland but it still provides a quick ready curry base that I can tweak with a little extra ginger, garlic, coriander etc. Also I do not heat it up in the oven , and prefer a shortcut on the hob because I don't much like the idea of eating food from a highly heated plastic container (carcinogens and all that), and the prawns still hold up well. Goes beautifully with a quick home-made mint & coriander chutney on the side which elevates the flavours.Didit
I've played multiple 12 string guitars in my 30 years of playing, and this one simply blew me away. I actually sold an Ovation Double neck and bought this in its place, and I'm grateful that I did. Sound: The GJ2CE has the full bodied, chiming ring, you would expect from a 12-string, (unpluged). But, the minute you plug in, the GJ2CE explodes into full voice, rich full lows, solid mids, and full shimmering ringing highs. The sound is extremely sensitive to your picking attack, from subtle, to booming in your face, and everything in between. The sound quality is that of a guitar 3 to 4 times the price. I spent two days in the Jackson, MS GC center playing every acoustic-electric in my price-range (and quite a few that exceeded it) – while ALL of them sounded good, I was looking for a specific sounds and feel that would allow me to get back into playing after a wrist-injury that still brings fatigue and pain with some guitar necks. The moment I picked up this guitar and strummed a chord, I thought, "This is IT. It's the ONE I've been searching for…". It plays beautifully – just the richest, cleanest and crisp rich sound imaginable. It's perfect for strumming and finger-picking and even now, weeks later – every time I pick it up to play it, it still delivers that same "wow" factor that sold me in the store.
I record at home for my own entertainment. I used to be in a band when I was younger but I get a lot of pleasure doing my own thing. This guitar while not expensive sounds exceptional. This is my first 'Cedar Top' acoustic guitar. I've always had various kinds of spruce on some very high end units with the exception of one mahogany top. I'd heard cedar was softer and not as lively as spruce. I would have to agree with that, but in a good way. The tone is nicely balanced over the entire spectrum with a very beautiful sustain quality that lends itself to excellent backup for vocals. I guess you could term it 'mellow' overall as it won't be a bluegrass pickers choice to really project like a Martin for instance. But once you've played it awhile, you will really appreciate the unique quality of it's sound. For the money invested, you just can't go wrong here. Got it today but instantly in love. I've owned many acoustics, jasmine, ibanez, savannah, yamaha, some off brand ones too. Visually beautiful but plain looking I got it in natural color, the neck is very flat good for resting your thumb, its also a bit thin, it works very well for fingerpicking. The cedar top projects really nicely, I have to say this sounds better than any of my other guitars. If I could sum it up in 1 word It plays and sounds like "Butter" its pretty bright, not too brassy/deep sounding like my okoume ibanez but it still resonates nicely. The pinless bridge is nice. I don't do bends or thing I use the guitar for celtic fingerpicking music. honestly glad I got this, i feel like it plays more like a guitar priced twice as highantman
Overall: IT's okay, it's a good looking well built guitar, it's just got a nasty sound to it. The fret board will stain your fingers with blue dye, WTF, that's a first. It does not sound like a Takamine guitar, I realize it's a 330.00 guitar mass produced but………..not impressed. I've written good to great reviews on guitars I have bought here with zZounds and is absulutley no reflection on them, I give them 5 stars all day long.

Now that I have the neck set-up & and my Martin Marquis strings are on it, I love it. I have another '77 model Tac that I've been using at my church for 10 years, and just love the quality, looks and sound of their guitars. This one is beautiful, the only thing, I would have changed so far is when using tuner, which is very accurate, amplification would be muted, which it does not do.Jim
This Takamine G51C Acoustic Electric Cutaway guitar is simply great. It has only taken me a short time to fall in love with playing it. With this, I replaced an old Takamine with the "Martin" style headstock, a Model G330 from the late 70's, which I have pass on to my daughter. She says that it is a family heirloom now, since she remembers me playing it for her since she was a small child. Funny, but I don't feel that old. Anyway, this new Takamine is great. it plays like a dream, the action is near perfect on it and only took a very minor adjustment to have it just the way I like it. It did come with a set of heavy guage strings on it and to be honest, I first thought I would not be able to play it for long at a time, but I changed these stock strings for a set of D'Addario light guage strings, and it now feels and plays fine. I love the electronics in this guitar, they are handy to reach and very responsive, making it easy to make any adjustments to the volume and tone while playing, right on the guitar without having to fool with the amp. This new Takamine has breathed some new life into my desire to play, and I look forward to sitting down with it everyday.Smoothie

I started looking at the ef508kce legacy also laminate koa top back and sides but having played both I could tell no difference in sound. The finish is full gloss and very pretty.The electronics are great,plays great after slight truss rod adjust.I also own Japan made Takamine guitars and have always found them to be a cut above the Chinese made g series but in my opinion this guitar is an exception to that rule.The electronics are a step better on the legacy series as is the figured Koa finish,however that being said the bare bones of this guitar are every bit as good as the more expensive legacy model.This is a Great sleeper guitar buy.Save your self some money and buy this one,When playing through my Bose L1 system this guitar sounds incredibleOK guitarist
I bought this guitar in early April 2021 and I would call it a decent guitar. Pro's: The fit and finish of this guitar is beautiful. It has a nice rich sound and is easy to play. The tuner is good. The EQ & pick-up give you flexibility to adjust the sound to your liking. Con's: The strings are pretty dead sounding after a short period of time. The tuning keys are junk. You'll spin them full circle just to get a minimal tuning change, especially the G & D string tuners. The G string frequently drops out of tune. I also kept getting a weird vibration noise that sounded like it was in the sound hole after about 2 weeks of playing it and on certain notes. I traced it down to the battery cover. Opening & Closing it did not do the trick. I had to file the edges a bit to resolve it. Good guitar for a beginner/intermediate player at small venues. I would not recommend it for a professional player.33 1/3

My other instruments are usually kept at the performance venue where I work, and I wanted a guitar to keep at home and write with. Ordering online without playing first is always risky, but the Takamine GJ72-CE was ready to go almost right out of the box,” not to mention visually appealing. After tuning up, it was wonderful. The action is very nice, very good for faster playing, and the overall sound is well balanced. It’s quite a bright sound, but there is plenty of bass tone and good mid-range to match. The intonation is also exceptional. Chords and notes voiced in the upper frets are in tune across all strings. The electronics are very good, especially for the price. There is a great deal of control over the sound, and it sounds very natural. And oddly enough (to my ears, anyway), it sounds the best and most natural with “EQ Bypass” turned on. The only complaint I have is the sticker on the back of the headstock is difficult to remove and left some adhesive residue, but I don’t think it’s worth knocking off a star for something trivial like that. Overall, for the price, this is a fantastic guitar. It sounds great and looks great. Five stars.

I have always thought that the best low end guitars on the market, the most guitar for the dollar, etc. are Takemine's. This GD30 is a prime example of that. There was some confusion as the tracking number that came with my order did not work with UPS or Music 123. I did receive a call from UPS about customs and brokerage fees and was told the day my guitar would arrive. The helpful person I spoke with at Music 123 was unable to tell me where my guitar was that day. All the same, it got delivered by UPS at the very end of the day promised. I thought that Takamine had adopted the practice of putting its logo on pickguards as well as the head on current models. Glad that pickguard logo peeled off. I love my Tak EF341SC! I bought it because I didn't have enough money for a $1600 Martin or a $2100 Taylor, but I like the feel and sound of this better than those other guitars I was debating between! The sound is a little brighter than the Martin, but a lot more mellow than the Taylor… It is perfect! La chitarra è arrivata in stato impeccabile, è molto bella, però le corde montate sembrano vecchissime e con corrosione, e inoltre montate in modo non professionale. difficile pensare che la ditta fa uscire una chitarra in questo stato. per cui riguardo suono non posso ancora dire tanto, la prima impressione del suono comunque è buona. dopo un setup riguardo curvatura manico, altezza brigde e corde nuove sarà un ottimo strumento.
Ottima chitarra, ed è anche arrivato prima del previsto. Unico rimorso è di non averla comprata primaRobert Di Ubaldi
