I am so thankful that I found one at such a cheap price and in this great of a condition. This piece was taken care of as far as dust, rust, wear and tear go. And completeness. It was missing the dongle which did make it a good bit cheaper. Thankfully, I had a copy of the same model. The copy that I had, the dongle worked but not the guitar. I was looking for one without any stickers on it, but I digress. 10/10cubeholic0

Good game with older songs. Not much fun on hard lvls with the sweet songs. Normal mode is do able it reminds me of play Simon says, with some good music and it's own little twist. I would recommend this to players if they doing the same thing over and overchristopher.w

So there's a few things I liked about this game. They changed the guitar so that way for people like me who can't reach the orange button, now I can reach all the buttons on the guitar. There's the regular version to unlock all of the songs they have Guitar Hero TV where people can play online and you can play other songs then the ones on the game. The reason I only have it 3 stars is the actual guitar itself. My guitar was not working well so we returned it and got a newer one. This one now the strum doesn't really work that well at all. Sometimes down works and it doesn't. So majority you have to strum up but, again works sometimes. Now it has to be returned a second time. So for an anticipated game, game was awesome. The equipment on the other hand needs work.nicole.f

Will have to say I was surprised by this game. Being a long time player of the guitar hero games and mastering them to a high level I thought this was going to be a breeze. I was wrong. The 6 button layout is rather deep allowing complex chords at higher difficulties and the overall game play is fun and adds a new dimension to the genre. I thought i wasn't going to like the realistic visuals approach but this didn't matter in the end as the actual story mode this is used in is really short and can be completed in a few hours. The GHTV mode is where I have had the most fun as playing the random collection of songs was keeping me entertained and has a much larger selection of music which is going to be added to over time. The only problem with this mode is its free-to-play model. Where you need to earn coins to buy plays to play the songs you want otherwise you have to wait for them in rotation. This may sound horrible but its not too bad in the beginning as plays are easy to earn as your low levels increase. But after about level 10 you will have to rely on the coins to be able to get your plays. Overall I enjoyed the game and if they keep adding new music to GHTV to play whilst earning coins to play the songs you want, this model isn't too bad. I would recommend this to anyone looking to play a new guitar hero game, but if your all about playing the same songs over and over to increase your score and go for perfect runs it might not be the title for you.Bawhawhaw

Loved playing guitar hero again. Guitar controllers worked with no issues. I adjusted the audio and visual lag from the game itself and I had no problems with the timing of buttons after that. I suggest guitar hero 3 for these controllers 🙂p-hhog-dze0har

I bought this game because the original game I had was scratched up and no longer playing some of the songs. Once I received my order I was ready to play, but after the second time of playing the game it wouldn't read on my PS2 system (fat). So I tried putting a different game in (actually a few) which worked. So then I decided to do some research as to why Rock Band wasn't playing on my system..After reading what others have experienced someone pointed out that maybe the system needed to be cleaned out so I decided to do just that and well behold! I figured out the problem. Now the game works properly and I am a happy camper. I give this game 2 thumbs up Its so much fun to play with family and friends. It literally brought back a lot of good memories. So my advise to others that have bought the game and isn't reading try dusting out the system because that's all I had to do and it worked for me.arz.us6

In my opinion, this game was alright. The drums got in the way though – probably because I'm so used to playing guitar hero, and have grown fond of playing lead guitar. Either way, the drums end up seeming bulky, always in the way, and cumbersome to move, not to mention put together. They also need a stool of some sort, and built in silencers would be nice, as opposed to having to shell out another 15-30 bucks for a generally mediocre game you already pay 180 bucks for in stores. Graphics are wonderful, though the characters move a little on the funky side (they're movements are just odd, sometimes). It's much better than games like guitar hero character-wise, though, that's for sure. And another saving grace is the fact that playing drums, and even the guitar sometimes helps with actually playing the real instruments. The game in general is a good one, but honestly, the creators should have chosen better songs for it. Some just aren't the catchiest of tunes, and others are just a chore to play because of how boring they are. A couple key songs make it an alright game in general. But it's best enjoyed when playing with a group of people. Otherwise, don't waste your time, nor your money. Get Guitar Hero, or better yet, get a real guitar (bass or otherwise), drum set, or microphone and learn how to play/sing the songs you actually like.dee06247

I had heard good reviews about Rock Band, with a few accounts of defective products, so I was a bit nervous about wether everything would work or not. However, upon setting it up (only took around 10 minutes, mainly for the drums – no tools needed), everything worked perfectly! After migrating over from Guitar Hero, I found most of the songs (the starting ones plus a few unlocked ones) quite easy, even on Expert. The drums were a bit harder, but after playing several songs, I was able to move up to the Meduim level without too much difficulty. The Hard level is still a bit challenging, but it doesn't appear impossible. The guitar that came with it is a lot lighter than both the Guitar Hero II and III Guitars, and also a slight bit biger, but I like the look of it. I was also pleased to find automatic settings to calibrate the timing for my TV (plasma and HD TVs sometimes have a slight lag between the video and audio). As for gameplay, everything is very smooth and clean, even with nearly a full band playing (everyone but the singer). All in all, this game is great fun, which is multiplied when there is more than one person. I can already tell it's going to be perfect for parties. However, if there is only one person you're buying it for, I would recommend Guitar Hero III, since a good chunk of the fun is from multiplayer (not that solo mode is bad). On one last note, the song list on Rock Band is a lot more varied. My 10 year old sister, my dad (an 80s guy), and myself (who digs classic rock) all found something we liked.whitefox1324

Rock Band is what Guitar Hero was a few years back, a refreshing take on a tired genre. The guitar plays more like a real guitar with its buttons down in the fret board rather than on top like Guitar Hero. Its whammy bar is in an easier to use place. However its not as thickly made as Guitar Hero's and the plastic doesn't seem as strong. Slight bends of the neck or body sound like its about to break. Its strum bar is more forgiving as well but many from the first shipments have broke and free replacement guitars are being shipped. The drums are the closest thing you are going to get to a real electric set at about 1/4 the price. The game will over the course of weeks teach you how to play the basics of rock drums. The microphone is a real mike is all metal construction makes it feel very good and compared to other mikes is thee best you can use with the game. It spans all rock from the 60's to today plus weekly songs to download and buy means there will always be a reason to come back and play. The game gives a great vibe and joy for all who are playing. Even if someone isn't as good at the game the other players can bring them back up to 3 times to keep the music going. So friends and family who are adversed to games will feel comfortable playing. If you can front the bill for this big ticket item its a must buy. If you can't afford it split the price with as many people until you can afford it. It is the last game in the series to be developed by Neversoft, due to weak sales the Guitar Hero series was placed on hiatus. Warriors of Rock was designed to return to the series' roots (to late), focusing heavily on lead guitar and towards the existing base of skilled players of the series. The game features a remade career mode called "Quest" set to a story influenced by heavy metal and narrated by Gene Simmons. Part of the story is influenced by the lyrics of the song "2112" by Rush, who narrate this portion of the game, while the finale is set to a new song performed by Megadeth and written by Dave Mustaine specifically to challenge Guitar Hero players. The game features 93 songs on disc, and compatibility with existing exportable songs and downloadable content from several previous games in the Guitar Hero series. Highlights the "2112" segment and the game's improved Quickplay+ mode, but a lackluster Quest mode's story and the lack of focus within the soundtrack. There was a tear on the box (which I assume happened during the shipping process), but it was packaged well enough that nothing broke. I was surprised when I found a USB adapter inside the guitar. More than I was expecting, but I already had one, so I have a spare now I guess. Plays perfectly, a bit squeaky, but that's about it. This game is the best guitar hero game ever, and that's including the new one that have out for the XBOX ONE. The graphics is the best of the series (before the XBOX ONE because of course that game is the best since it's just "live people"), the songs are great also. You really get a large variety of different music and it's A LOT of songs to play through. Anyone who has ever played any Guitar Hero title for an extended period of time will invariably come across a song that completely owns them. I'm not talking about a Pat Benatar number, or something from the Killers or Nirvana. They're easy. No, the song that will have you staring in fear at a wall of notes while your rock meter goes into the red faster than ACC will almost certainly be metal, and extremely heavy at that. The reason you never got past hard on Guitar Hero III was because of Slayer, not Santana. Overjoyed as we were with the news last year that Metallica would not only contribute a bunch of their songs for a band-exclusive Guitar Hero title, we were far more interested to see just how developers Neversoft would deal with the difficulty level. World Tour and Aerosmith were noticeably easier than Guitar Hero III, the former going as far as to require much more accurate tracking for hammer-ons and pull-offs, the latter – well, Aerosmith could be described in a lot of ways, but "brutally hard" would not be one of them. Before we get to what it's like to play, it's worth noting just how inclusive this title is when it comes to Metallica lore. The band members were involved in every step of the development, with James Hetfield personally laying down the basic idea for the Career Mode storyline. This is based on a group of fans who followed Metallica around on tour in the early 1990's. It's important to realise that career progression is not done in chorological order like Aerosmith – Metallica vetoed that suggestion, and it's just as well. In a game called Guitar Hero Metallica you'd think there'd be well more Metallica songs. Only about half the songs in the game are from Metallica the other from artist "inspired" by Metallica. It's said Metallica hand picked the other artist in this game but who knows. It's just really disappointing the Metallica games in this song be they their greatest hits or just some random ones are really fun to play. It's such a thrill with the music blaring and rocking out with some of your friends to these songs. Even the less famous ones get you going. Say what you will about Metallica but seeing them play live is a thrill. Which in this game you get to be them playing these songs feeling awesome after pulling off some crazy guitar solo or a really hard drum solo. Which is why this game gets so disappointing when you have to play the other songs which have none of the impact that the Metallica songs have. Sadly this is the formula which Guitar Hero follows. They've done it with Guitar Hero Aerosmith with Metallica and most recently Guitar Hero Van Halen. It lessens the experience. Plus most of the other "inspired by" artist songs pale in comparison and cheapen the experience. Hopefully Activision and Neversoft have learned from the dismal sales of Van Halen and Aerosmith and will try to learn from Mtv games and Harmonix success with The Beatles: Rock Band. Every single song is a Beatles song and there are even full albums you can download to add to your collection something none of the previously mentioned guitar hero games have. If you can find Guitar Hero Metallica for about 25 to 30 bucks its definitely worth the price but not for more then that. In the end it hits a great note when playing the Metallica songs then takes a dive when it forces you to play the other songs in career mode.ucnyc21

Guitar Hero 5 is a great party game. It is one of those games where you can pick it up and play it even though you don't play alot of games. It's great with a room of friends and the Band Set. Rock band has surpassed itself with its latest version of the Rock Band Stratocaster. No clacky strum bar that ruins play, this time has even improved on previous models, that compared to the racket made by Guitar Hero peripherals is playable without having to use noise cancelling headphones. And because the neck buttons are quite subtle it also looks like a real guitar. OK one that's 3/4 the size. My new fave guitar peripheral.houndofculaine

Absolutely wonderful! It did not come in the red box, it came in like a white flowers box with a little window in it, but it looks great. Has the plastic little sheet covers over stuff and everything dongle inside box. I am EXTREMELY happy. Giving it to my son for Christmas in the box it came it. A must have for the Rock Band fan, the keyboard allows you to finally rock with a full band. And, as a bonus, it can teach you to actually play a keyboard as a bonus. The one draw back is that it's not supported by many of the older songs you may have imported from RB1/2, and the keyboard parts for downloadable songs often cost extra. But that's okay, because all the RB3 songs on disk are there, ready for you to plonk along with.Rhys

As far as plastic musical instruments go, this particular model has been somewhat clunky and unreliable for me. I have reasons that I stick with it, primarily it's lower price in comparison with the wireless LP models, and that fact that it's powered USB instead of AA batteries. I recently purchased my 3rd Xplorer guitar. The previous two both had mysterious button failure (both the green button) that I cannot repair. Pros: Cheaper to replace than the Wireless model No batteries means less money spent (or less time recharging) No signal interference or missed notes that the wireless sometimes suffers Cons: Shorter lifespan than wireless models Cord keeps you tethered to your console, preventing long-distance jamming Whammy bar is often very loose and dangles around Overall, this is an average instrument for GH. The Les Paul from GH3 (after you fix the neck) seems much more reliable, but goes for $20-30 more. They're both just plastic guitars, but this one just seems to break more often than the wireless and RB instruments. Average!mufanchu43

I decided to buy this for the PC clone of Guitar Hero called Frets On Fire. I read on a few forums this has a USB connection and will work with windows XP and above. Had to find drivers on the website before it worked for my xp system though. Works great. I just have to get used to spreading my fingers out to where they need to be. I'm not or never was a guitar player so it's going to take some adjusting. Also the whammy bar doesn't work with FOF, but that doesn't matter anyway. -= PROS =- Works on PC with USB Works with FOF Feels sturdy. I think it will last. -= CONS =- Whammy bar doesn't work with FOF. It is however recognized by windows. Buttons are spread a little too far apart for my hand. I'll adjust. Cant even really use the Guitar it looks great at first,Then when I was playing it the batteries kept popping out it kept shutting off during play. When I opened the battery compartment and saw that they just keep popping out. I was suprised to see a Guitar Hero controller in this good of condition. Most contollers you see now a days are completely corroded on this inside, but the wires in this one are so shiny I could use it to signal planes! The only problem I had with the controller was the stickers, but who didn't put stickers on their controller when the game came out. Plus, a little goo gone and water takes them right off. I also appreciate the inclusion of a strap with the controller. I don't use the strap that often, but I like having it there if I need it. Overall I am super happy with this purchase.dj94546

The guitar was shipped two days earlier than I was expecting. The guitar feels great and its in perfect condition. It came with pre applied stickers that felt great on the frets. The good thing Was that there werent any stickers on the base of the guitar which I really like.broncofanrob23
