Sound: This guitar I by far the smoothest I have ever played. The tone is great and playing leads on it is like no other. Features: Everything about this guitar is perfect from the type of wood to the electonics. Ease of Use: This is an easy guitar to play if you have experience. Beginners will have to get used to it. The jumbo frets is where people will get messed up because of the spacing of the strings. Quality: This guitar will last a lifetime. Value: It is a very good price Manufacturer Support: I did not have to use any of the manufacturing numbers or talk to anyone this guitar was perfect right out of the box. I've wanted one of these for a long time and finally took the plunge. I'm very happy with the sound and construction of this guitar. Note that at least as of early 2018, there is no longer a "KH-602" inlay on the 24th fret. There are two small skull inlays like on the new Purple Sparkle model. The neck is super smooth on this guitar as mentioned by everyone else. The only thing I am having trouble getting used to is the extreme bevel of the fret ends. If I'm not careful it's easy for me to push the low E off the fretboard. Tuning the Floyd Rose bridge takes some patience, but once you get it dialed in it stays locked down. I like it.Rockman

I played on an Ibanez S-series for years and it was my go to for playing metal. I also own an American Standard Fender Stratocaster. I bought this guitar because I love playing Metallica songs and solos just jamming at home. This is by far my favorite guitar to play on now. The extra jumbo frets make soloing a cinch and have improved my capabilities. The heavy metal crunching sound is AWESOME and I only play on a Line 6 with one 12" speaker. My only disappointment is with some buzzing frets. The repair technician at Guitar center told me I have uneven frets, which would need to be repaired to get rid of the buzzing on both E strings, which is still present even after having the guitar set perfectly to spec by Guitar Center. You can't hear the buzzing through the amp, but I expected to receive near perfection from ESP/LTS when paying such as high price tag. QC those frets better before you release the guitars ESP South Korea! Or cut the price!Brosche

After months of searching for my next guitar I finally settled on the Ibanez Prestige AZ series. As a lifelong strat player, my goal was to find a guitar that married modern features with classic American Strat-like qualities. The obvious choice might be the modern Suhr series, but the pricing on those was too high for me to even entertain exploring. The Ibanez Prestige AZ2402 is the perfect rendition of the featuree I was looking for and after 3 weeks of playing, I could not be happier with this purchase. I was able to secure the guitar for a few hundred less than new, as it was labelled as "minor blemish" on the AMS site. I immediately jumped on it and am ecstatic that I did so. To this day 3 weeks later, I cannot tell what the "blemish" could be. This thing looks, feels, plays and sounds like a brand new guitar. Out of the box the guitar was set up and only just slightly flat of tune. To meet my preference, some minor adjustments were made to the neck and bridge, but the 20 minutes or so that it took to slap some fresh strings on and make the measurements was well worth it. I have even had to do this on product that was brand new before, so I could not even attribute this to the "minor blemish" label. Th pickups are amazing. The coil switch mechanisms are great for added versatility, but the standard humbuckers are excellent and the guitar should still be considered even if you do not plan to use the switching system. The neck is super creamy and clear as a bell, while the bridge is just hot enough for metal and crystal clear enough to jangle some clean chords. The bridge is very solid with comfortable saddles and screams top quality. Tuning stability has not been any sort of issue, even with the use of the bar. I am not an extreme whammy bar user, but I did do some tests on deep dives and the guitar tuning needed no adjustment afterwards. In fact, since I changed the strings and did the setup on the second day, the guitar has not gone out of tune at all. I will highlight that the neck is way thicker than what I was anticipating, but in a few hours I was right at home with the feel. I have played many wizard necks and it simply was not what I was looking for, being accustomed to chunkier modern strat necks. The AZ neck is big, chunkier than the strat but I am now in love with it and this guitar has become my go to #1. Definitely recommend even at the full new price. Sound: The Hyperion pickups do a great job overall and offer up a nice array of different sounds for just about every style of music. When in HH mode it goes from blues to rock and beyond with no problem. When the DynaMix switch is engaged the guitar takes on a completely different characteristic from jangly to warm and has some great tonal options for clean and crunch. I like the versatility of this guitar. It takes a bit of time to get used to all the options and you’ll have to tweak your EQ here and there to avoid them sounding thin or shrill, but I think you'll be able to find quite a few useful tones with this guitar. Features: The Gotoh tuners are sturdy and stable. The ratio is great and they really smooth with no issues at all holding tune. I had never used them before and I had to YouTube how to unlock them lol, but they work great. I prefer locking tuners with the knob on the back, but that's just personal preference. The Gotoh bridge feels spectacular. The titanium saddles are so smooth, no more rubbing your palm raw over rough saddles or screws. I don't use a trem much these days but it does a good job staying in tune even with some dive bombs and flutters. The roasted maple neck is beautiful and has a great smooth feel on the back. The cutaway and contours are very comfortable and the recessed input jack is a thoughtful highlight. And yes, most wireless transmitters will fit. I could not get my Line 6 G10 transmitter to fit in the AZ Premium I had. The Prestige is not as deeply recessed and the transmitter fits just fine. This is my first go around with stainless steel frets but I do like the feel of them and they look good too. Ease of Use: It’s a fairly straightforward guitar to use and maintain. Nothing overly complicated here. Changing strings on a 2 point trem is a breeze compared to Floyd Rose or Edge terms and with the locking tuners you can get through the task in just a few minutes. All the back panels open easily for access to trem springs, input jack, and electronics. The exposed truss rod socket makes adjusting the neck a snap. The included multi-tool is really all you will ever need for quick changes. Quality: This is where everyone will say they have high end made in America PRS, or Custom Shop whatevers and this is just as good or better. They will say that for a good reason because it’s the truth. Fit and finish are spectacular. No gaps or wiggles to be found. Fret work and fingerboard are simply top notch. It feels like it’s been your guitar for years. Electronics are smooth and there is an overall premium feel to this instrument. The hype is real…. FujiGen makes great guitars. Value: Value is a subjective measure. This is an expensive guitar for sure but when compared to similar “modern player” guitars out there the 2402 sits right in the middle price-wise. I feel it’s well within reason for what you get and it’s a good value for your money. I’d rather get a painted body with stainless steel frets than a bookmatched top and standard frets. Manufacturer Support: Haven't needed it The Wow Factor: In my humble opinion the wow factor is somewhat unseen. The story behind the AZ series is quite novel in that Ibanez reached out and met with some of the best and brightest guitarists around today. Over a period of 2 or 3 years and through several prototypes they compiled all of those suggestions into this amazing series of instruments. If all the artists involved really feel that this is their ultimate guitar then that’s pretty wow in my book. Overall: OK first let’s talk about the 800 pound gorilla in the room. That neck!!!! If you have done any research on the AZ series you already know it’s not a Wizard neck, but you may be surprised at how big it is. When I first grabbed it I was thinking I was going to return it, but after playing on it for a few days it felt like home. Like a lot of things about this guitar, the neck is a paradox. It shouldn’t feel this comfortable to someone who prefers Charvel and Jacksons, but it does. It doesn’t feel like a shred neck, but you can play that way remarkably well on it. It has its own unique shape like nothing I’ve played before. If I had to compare it to something I’d say somewhat resembles a Fender American Elite neck but more of a U shape with bigger shoulders. I can say that I don’t notice a huge change when going back and forth with my other guitars. It’s easy to transition between them without a lot of readjustment time to ‘get the feel’. I’ve seen a lot of forum posts asking about how the AZ Prestige stacks up to other instruments. Here’s my opinion. I own a Charvel Pro Mod DK24 HSS with the roasted neck and I really like that guitar a lot. The 2402 is a little lighter and sleeker and has a higher quality feel. I think the Hyperions as humbuckers are more versatile than the Full Shred. The 2402 neck is thicker and feels a little wider vs the DK which is more like a very thin Strat neck. Wow. I'd read a lot of reviews of this guitar and watched some videos, but nothing prepared me for how awesome this guitar is, and I haven't even had a chance to play it out of an amp yet! I honestly don't feel worthy to even play it, it is so nice. Beefy yet lightweight. Very comfortable and well-balanced. Smooth fretboard and the neck is great. Overall very happy with this guitar and I can't wait to get back home with it to run it through some pedals and an amp! Oh, and the special TSP colorway is amazing. Sound: I think the Heretic pickups are a nice change to most stock pickups they are hot but sound great dirty. chords ring nicely voicing is excellent for metal and rock. Cleans up well too. But pickups could be a bit more dynamic. Great guitar if metal is all you want to play. Features: Quality control shows on the model I purchased it isn't very good. Gapping in the pocket from neck to body shape upper frets just wasn't pleased to be honest . Overall: I just ordered an elite 6 as well the fit in the neck socket is not good I could fit a good size credit card in there. The high frets were sharp and bit jagged and in need a dressing and crowning. A tool mark on the horn and in the gap of where it bolts on can't tell if it's scratched or cracked. I emailed zZounds today hoping to hear back and provide shipping back at no cost to me. Nice guitar but it has its flaws no doubt surely disappointed.ArmandoArmando

I'm not sure how one customer could have received 4 of these that were all bad…maybe a bit of exaggeration, or someone who just doesn't know how to setup a guitar. I've been playing for 37 years now, and have owned countless Schecter guitars. This one is on par with the best of them. For the money, any other brand in this category cannot compete! The neck plays very well and the fretwork is great! The tuners are stable and the pickups are decent. IMO, locking tuners would be more desirable and the pickups could be a bit more robust and clear as well…hence the 4 stars. However, that said, neither HAVE to be upgraded in order to play this guitar live or in the studio. You may need to tweak your EQ a bit, but that's a small price to pay for this guitar's playability and quality build. Grab one before Biden raises the price!!Shane S.

Overall: Ok, so I love the looks of this guitar! The pictures do not do it justice! The problem is that it had a loose neck bolt/screw. zZounds did great getting it returned, but I had to drive 86 miles round trip to ship it back. Plus spend $16 for packing material which I drove another 18 miles to get. The process is slow, which means I can’t play! It’s frustrating to say the least! Second guitar I bought here that had issues. Honestly, I don’t really know how it got past Schecter QC, but it did. Now I have spent multiple hours to get something right that should have been right from the start! Not to mention waiting. I think I will buy guitars from someone else in the future. Everything else I purchased here has been awesome. So for me, I will say that zZounds has been great to deal with, but until they actually do a multi-point inspection on guitars, I will buy those somewhere else.Joshua

I want to start by saying I did not get it from GC. I got it from another site where they had a charcoal option. This is a review on the guitar and not the supplier. They say a good guitar isn't necessary how it looks. I also read a lot about "a PRS sounds somewhere between a Les Paul and a Strat." For some reason people hold these sounds as the "gold standard" for musical guitar tone. Now I don't know about that either. What I can tell you is that what makes this a good guitar is how inspiring it is and how creative it's making me play. I don't know how to describe it- maybe a more experience person can weigh in (I've been playing on and off for a few years) but I seem so much more creative in my playing when I'm jamming with this as compared to my Gibson SG standard or Fender Player. At the end of the day, you want a guitar that not only sounds great (which this absolutely does) but also feels great and inspires you to play out of your norm. It does not have as much rock power when distorted when compared to my SG, so if you're looking for a rock heavy guitar, I don't know if this is for you. But it sounds incredible clean (which is how I mostly play). My Player sounds great clean too, but I love the wider and thicker neck profile it has compared to my strat (I got big gorilla hands so I like a chunkier neck). I've only had this for 2 weeks but it's become my grab guitar.Robbie A

I was looking for an entry level guitar that was priced right and built well. First of all, how can you go wrong with this beautiful style. It is also very light and wont leave you with back pain after a couple hours of riffing. Tuning keys are solid without any dead spots and dont slip. The guitar stays in tune very well with only slight adjustment needed due to temperature changes. Pick up selector is smooth and not notchy. Havent used the whammy bar and have been playing with studio headphones, so sound is subjective, but as someone that has been playing several instruments for 30 years, I like to think I have a good ear. All in all a great purchase decision.oxouk

In stock this guitar deserves no more than 3 stars but I can give it 4 because you can really work with it and upgrade it to become a better sounding instrument. The tremolo is not very good but it works fine and gets the job done. It can go out of tune easily if not set-up properly. The tremolo on mine deteriorated over time and has now been destroyed but that's not a problem for me as I will upgrade it. The pups aren't bad but they aren't good; you get what you pay for. Other than that it is an okay instrument for practicing and learning specially if you're a Metallica fan boy. The thin U-neck is very comfortable and the jumbo frets make it easy to play but there are way better guitars out there for the price.TheHomieDavid

This was my upgrade from a Lucero 150se and what a difference it made. In terms of playability there's no comparison, the Cordoba is superior in every way. Start with the tuners/nut which are perfectly smooth allowing you to make small adjustments even on steel strings. Playing the Cordoba is simply easier and there were things I could not do well on the Lucero due to the thickness of the wood neck. Mind you I'm not talking about the nut width which is 50mm on both, I'm talking the actual thickness of the wood neck itself below the fret board. The slimmer profile of the Cordoba meant reaching certain chords easier, changing chords faster, and giving my hands the ability to put pressure when needed. The factory strings on the Cordoba appear to be superior as well although I would still upgrade them if you can afford it; the steel strings on the Lucero wore out at about 85hrs. No fret noise of any kind on the Cordoba (so long as you play the chord right) whereas on the Lucero I would get buzzing on frets 5 & 6 from both 5th and 4th strings with anything other than light strumming, even with perfect finger placement. The sound of the Cordoba is more sharp, crisp, and clear than the Lucero. My only con is that the shallower body does create a slightly more "twangy" sound than I'm used to but its a negligible difference I quickly settled with in exchange for the other qualities. You get what you pay for. This is a very solid guitar for the price. I would recommend nothing less for serious beginners.Joe T

I mostly play rock/popular music gigs but wanted a classical nylon guitar for that particular sound on home recording projects. I researched intermediate level guitars and thought I'd found what I wanted when I chanced on a review of the Cordoba C7 and decided to spend a little more and go with that. I haven't been disappointed. The build quality and tone have been worth that little extra. It would have been nice if a gig bag was included to give it some protection but it wasn't a deal breaker.David

I had a misconception regarding this brand. The only Cordoba's I noticed in stock at the store were inexpensive ukuleles. So when I began the search for a proper classical guitar, Cordoba was nowhere on my list. I ordered a used european built guitar by a reputable brand. It arrived with a bad up-bow in the neck. That's when I learned that traditional classical guitars have no truss rod. (Just my opinion, but wood isn't what it used to be, and you aren't going to get an instrument built with old growth timber under several thousand dollars.) So began my search for a "traditional classical guitar", but with a truss rod. That google search led straight to Cordoba. (All their models have truss rods.) I ordered a C7 (built in China) and a 45CO (built in Spain) to see what this brand was about. It would be a battle royale for build and sound quality. The loser is… my bank account, because I'd like to keep both. The two have a different build and likewise a different feel and sound. (see Cordoba's website for details.) Fit and finish is impeccable on both guitars. The C7 projects more, while the 45CO has perhaps a slightly more refined tone. My past experience has been that nylon string guitars are difficult to play, have poor intonation and need to be tuned more than played. None of that is the case with these two. My steel string acoustic and electrics are collecting dust while I obsess over this genre of guitar. My conclusion is… classical guitars are awesome, and Cordoba should definitely be on your test drive list. What I received are well priced instruments that are not only well made but intoxicatingly fun to play.JRH

For the price, this guitar is awesome. The overall feel and look is outstanding, and the bridge pickup is clear and articulate (the neck is ok). The split coil sounds are chimey but not harsh and brittle which was surprising. No high frets, the nut is cut well for the strings, the tuners are pretty stable. Cosmetically the finish and general build quality is very good with some exceptions. Mine came with a crack in the veneer at the heel of the neck near the pickup. There are some pretty gnarly tool marks on the fret board and frets, but mostly on the higher ones which is pretty typical on something at this price point. there are some chips and what looks to be excess glue to where the nut is installed. Cosmetic stuff isn't THAT important to me, especially for lower priced instruments, although the crack in the veneer bummed me out so that contributes to taking away one star. What also is keeping it from being 5/5 is that the saddles could be a little more rounded off because the low E saddle has it's corner digging into your palm when muting, not painful just uncomfortable. Then finally I needed to add a shim because the angle of the neck was far too steep for me to get the action I wantedRuss

First off I was surprised with the overall quality although the tuners are it's weak point and should probably be changed unless the nut is causing the issue. Everything looks amazing and the sound is very impressive. The alnico neck pickup sounds beautiful. The bridge pickup does what you want to without a problem and overall sounds surprisingly great for rock and metal. The neck is very comfy thanks to those rolled edges and smooth roasted maple satin type finish and makes a big difference in the feel and comfort of the neck. This is a Fender Strat Killer. You get way more for the money and the overall attention to detail you just don't get with Fender unless you do it yourself. A little heavier than I would l would like it but an above average guitar in this price range.Doug

I’ll start with it out of the box. Please keep in mind this isn’t every guitar, just the one I paid for. The set up was pretty dreadful to be honest. I’m not sure if it was set up like that ready to ship, if it was sat in a warehouse like that before hand or if the shipment itself caused the major back bow. In either case, that caused a lot of fret buzz. A simple fix. I can’t fault it for being out of tune out of the box. The finish is great! A lovely, deep red that’s kinda sparkly. Very pretty… Apart from the tone knob which has dug into the guitar causing a scratch in the shape of a ring. The tone knob itself fell off after a day of having it (I think it’s quite funny as that happened to my 2015 ML1 after a few years). I imagine this being another issue caused by shipping. Fairly minor things for a guitar but not what I was expecting from one purchased brand new. I was really looking forward to loving this guitar but it seems somebody somewhere along the way didn’t put the care in to it. Next I want to talk about feel because that’s the thing you can’t understand until you’ve got it in your hands. It’s incredibly resonant and you can feel the guitar vibrate through your hands just like my Korean ML1. The neck is fairly thick, I like that. Some people don’t but that’s not the guitars fault. It feels like the Korean ML1 I mentioned earlier, just a little longer because of the scale length. The neck itself could do with being 5mm wider across to accommodate for the over crowned fret ends, leaving almost no room for the low B string to be fretted. Thus making it far too easy to pull (what would be the high and low E strings) off from the fretboard. I think that may be a flaw in the overall design of this guitar, particularly if you think about the floppiness of the strings even if they weren’t horribly down tuned. The fretboard looks much better in person and feels like an ebony fretboard [insert happy face] The frets are slightly dull and more importantly, heavily over crowned which makes it difficult to play those thick chuggy riffs we all know and love. Functionality: The locking tuners would’ve been a great addition to this guitar if they kept the guitar in tune. I might be going a little hard on this point but staying in tune is a vital part of any guitar and this one isn’t great at keep itself in tune. The pickups are ok, I love the ability to coil split and get some lighter tones out of a guitar. I’ve found myself spending more time with the coil split and it’s lovely. The full humbuckers just don’t have the bollocks they need. I would’ve preferred a HS or HSS set up but that’s a me thing and no fault of the guitar.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.

Overall: This guitar sounded very clean when plugged in directly w/o effects applied. Wonderful sound when applying effects as well. neck action is nice. 2 things I would consider if you haven't played this guitar and are going to purchase by internet:: 1. The pickups are located next to each other so a slight modification in your strumming hand position will be needed. 2. The neck is very wide and not friendly to shorter fingers. You may need to find a different position on the neck to play certain things. Otherwise it is a fine guitar with an absolutely beautiful finish that shines even in a dimly lit room. the pickguard and pinstripe around the body have a matching shell like pattern that I thought was a nice touch. My first ESP and I am very impressed. Made in the USA too very nice.Angelica

I have owned a custom shop Jackson SL and an American made Jackson SL2 in my life. I have also owned a Carvin 727. I have to admit the fit and finish of my 607B is on par with those. I am using it for recording primarily, but it sounds incredible. It cuts right through a dense mix of keys, brass, strings and percussion. I compose symphonic metal and this guitar suits me perfectly. The is jaw dropping in person. It stays in tune extremely well and the intonation appears dead on and the strings are ver, very close to the fretboard. This guitar easily rivals my previous guitars and cost less than half or a third of the others. I may eventually decide the buy the purple 607 because the quality of this has sold me on these. The pickups are the first actives I have ever used and are very aggressive. They sound dark, but powerful. Thank you ESP and AMS for such a great axe and a payment plan that made it possible.Lonzenator

First off…the paint job on this is AMAZING. There is no way for this to NOT look good on stage or in the practice room. It is surprisingly pretty hefty for a telecaster style body in terms of weight, but not to the point that it is uncomfortable to play. The ebony fretboard and neck radius makes this guitar VERY easy to play. Doesn't matter if I am chugging away or doing shred style solos, the easy of fretboard navigation and feel is beyond comparison. The Fishman Fluence Customs it sound great through an overdriven 5150's and a Kemper. Surprisingly the cleans are very nice as well. The Longer baritone length gives it a lot pf crispness and clarity while maintaining that gnarly bite even under high gain. The only thing I wish was a little different is the pickup placement. For solos, I love to use neck pickups. The pickup being in the middle is not as usable as I would like it to be, and I had to lower it a great deal so that I was not hitting it with picks constantly. But…I knew what I was getting when I got it. The neck meeting the body where it does makes it a little harder to access the upper frets for that 23rd and 24th fret. The switching between voices is a little different on these when compared to the normal Fishman Fluence Moderns…but not a deal breaker. My only regret overall is that I did not buy this guitar years ago. I am thinking about getting another simply for touring so I can have different tunings on one and then switch to the other.Casey L.

Probably the most comfortable fretboard I ever touched. Solid electronics and bridge and pickups. Removable whammy bar. Great unique looking design with metallic paint. Bought this due to the fact it looks like a cousin of Aoi's (TheGazettE) official ESP guitar (sold in Japan only) but I have not had any problems with this guitar at all. Sounds great clean but kills with distortion pedals. This is my second ESP guitar and I'm very happy with it.K.E.

Sound: The 'Blackened' Black Winter pickup is very bright. Not shrill, but definitely will cut through a mix. It's incredibly clear, and touch sensitive. Very high output, which is appropriate for a guitar called the Black Metal! Features: This guitar has an alder body, which is amazing for almost all tonal aims. The raised LTD logo on the headstock is an incredibly nice touch! The Grovers are smooth, and stable, and the OFR is also stable and reliable. Ease of Use: This is where this, and just about every other LTD I've purchased shines. The fretwork is immaculate. I have the action at .75mm, and it doesn't buzz, for those who aren't familiarwith action measurements, this is incredibly low. The pickup height was perfect right out of the box. The only thing I needed to adjust was the truss rod, it had a bit too much relief. But once that was done, it plays like butter and sounds brutal! Quality: This guitar has absolutely no quality control issues, and feels extremely well made. As stated above, it has all high end appointments, such as a Seymour Duncan pickup, OFR, and grover tuners. It functions amazingly. Value: Absolutely. I'm a Jackson fanboy 90% of the time, but I can say (and zZounds can verify) I've had to return multiple Jackson products and never a single LTD. The Jacksons cost more, and have less. Manufacturer Support: I haven't needed to deal with ESP, as I've never had an issue with their products. The Wow Factor: When you're playing this guitar, if feels metal. The guitar is so easy to play, and sounds so brutal. I can't recommend it enough if you like to play extreme genres of music. Overall: LTD never disappoints. What a brilliant guitar. Where to start? Ill just keep this brief and roll off compliments like a fanboybut Im not, this is my first Schecter. Pasadena pickups are stellar. Hotter than PAFs but tonally still capable of vintage-type sounds. Sound great when split, as well. Set up was perfect right out of the box. Stainless steel frets are excellent. Fit and finish are top shelf. Satin body makes for a slick neck. Hardware is qualitylocking tuners, solid switch, the best factory knobs Ive ever encountered, Tone Pros bridge, etc. Very playable low action, great fret work, slick compound radius neck, carved heel for access to upper frets, nut is upgraded to an Ernie Ball Compensated Nut and it shows in how well the guitar stays in tune. Aestheticsthe binding is aged to beautiful effect, hardware is gold (and lovely), knobs are black with rubber that is felt more than seen, fretboard is gorgeous ebony, mother of pearl block inlaysthis guitar would not be out of place in the hands of metal thrashers and at the same time would look great in the hands of a black tie jazz guitarist. I am so impressed with this Schecter Solo II Custom. So many high end appointments from the beefy locking tuners, the Ernie Ball articulated nut to the ebony fingerboard on the 12/16 compound radius neck, REAL mother of pearl block inlays, Pasadena Customer Shop pickups to…..well you get the point. Schecter spared no expense in this single cut Les Paul model. You cannot get a Gibson with these features for less that 3,000.00 and this model comes in at just under a grand. Plus the fit and finish of this made in Korea guitar are absolutely flawless. This guitar is simply a BEAST. If you are looking for a high value, high quality alternative to Gibson….you absolutely will not be disappointed with the Solo II Custom.Jon

Sound: So many tonal options! I love the coil splits in middle position with the bridge turned down really low and the tone at about 4-5 for some killer blues riffs. Features: The locking tuners and coil splitting capabilities. Ease of Use: All the sounds are great and it’s the easiest guitar I own to play and it’s still Day one! I’d say there’s zero learning curve coming from a Wolfgang standard. Quality: It’s made very well. I assume it’s a lifelong instrument. I’m sure the gold will tarnish and the matte paint will polish in spots, but the reason I got gold hardware and matte finish is so I can watch it relic over the years. Value: If comparing to Gibson, it’s at least $500 under priced! Incredible value. Manufacturer Support: N/A The Wow Factor: For me, the looks of matte black and gold is flat out sexy Overall: This was delivered while I was at work and stopped and put it inside on my rounds since I was in the neighborhood. I did a quick unboxing and was pretty disappointed at first, it just felt off. It’s a cold day so I’m assuming the wood just need to warm up, because when I got home it was like a different instrument. Perfect action and almost perfect intonation and the fret work was custom shop worthy once the wood settled. I absolutely love the pickups and the tonal options seem to be never ending. It really is of superb quality, you would have to pay $5,000+ to get a Gibson that plays as nice with similar specs. Schecter and Ibanez are in their own league when it comes to quality and price. If you’re looking at a Gibson LP tribute, buy this instead. It’s not even comparable. I do feel like $950 warrants a soft case, I’d be happy paying $1,000 knowing it wouldn’t be shipped in box by itself. That’s my only gripe though.Scarecrow

Overall: I purchased the Viper 400B expecting a middle of the road guitar for lower tunings. When it arrived, I was blown away by the quality. This guitar is my first ESP purchase, and now I'm a big fan. The pickups are great for heavy guitar, as you'd expect from EMGs. The matte finish is beautiful, and i catch myself staring at the guitar across the room when I'm not playing it. I've been able to get an awesome clean tone for intros out of this axe, and the palm muting(chugs) and chordal stuff I do really growl and punch nicely. Single note passages sing out beautifully, and the neck feels very nice to my hands. If you're like me, and you love Melodic Death Metal Bands that use B standard tuning(Amon Amarth, Avatar, Kataklysm, etc.) and want to capture that tone yourself without having to file the nut down on a normal scale-length guitar, I don't think you can find a better option anywhere else in this price range. If is fine for a young kid 6-10 years old to see if they will have any interest in playing a guitar later on without putting a lot of money into it. The "case" that came with it was more like a plastic garment bag. Strap does NOT fit and only has one of the connections for it on the guitar. But the guitar alone was fine to hold for about 6 months to see if the child holds interest without spending a lot of money.smokey_littleone2004
