The software version that came with our purchase was v1.0. When you insert the disk, the game console checks to see if there's a new version. We played v1.0 while v2.03 downloaded in the background. The game is VERY jumpy and pauses often which made it impossible to play – very annoying! We thought maybe the update download was causing troubles but we had troubles even after the download was complete. The new version 2.03 won't even start!!! I've opened two support tickets with the game manufacturer (not Playstation) and they give me the "reboot and it will work" – not the case. I've updated firmware to the instruments and all kinds of steps to resolve. At this point the manufacturer won't even respond. I was so happy to actually find this bundle. If you can find this during the pandemic for a good price do not hesitate, but it immediately. This has been so much fun for my family and friends. Rockband 4 is the definitive experience on PS4. Guitar Hero Live sucks on so many levels. This however keeps the basic formula fresh! With a better wireless guitar controller (which took me a while to get used to but now I love it!) and updated graphics and effects, Rockband remains true to what made these games so great (unlike GH Live, seriously that game sucks). HOWEVER your enjoyment of all these types of games always comes down to lag compensation, if you haven't got your TV set up just right you're gonna have a bad time. It took me weeks to get mine set up just right, but once I did I was shredding through songs on expert like I was born to it! BE WARNED this is very much a DLC song. The on disc track list is the weakest of any Rock Band/ Guitar Hero game for a long time. I literally only bought this for that one 'Mumford and Sons' and 'The Killers' song :p But after sinking an embarrassing amount of money into downloadable tracks, I now have over 300 songs in my library and it's GREAT! I play this ALL THE TIME! Thankfully, Harmonix have had the best post-game launch support I've seen in ages, with regular game updates that actually improve performance and fix little bugs, and by far the best part is that there has been a CONSTANT stream of new DLC almost every week, with not just old favourites, but a tonne of modern songs that a popular right now! I love checking each week and seeing a song I love hearing on the radio being brought to Rockband 4! Another major downside is that although your old guitar and drum controllers will work with this game, you cannot sign in to an PSN account with them, so your scores will never be saved AND it causes alot of performance issues in band play. I HOPE it's not just a problem with the game like in the previous titles where it works fine when there's only one player, but as soon as you get two people playing it lags and makes you miss notes that you hit. If this is still a problem even if you have all modern controllers then THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE! I SHOULD NOT BE PENALIZED WHEN I'M GOING 100% ON A SONG AND JUST BECAUSE MY FRIEND ISN'T DOING SO WELL IT SAYS I MISS NOTES. But other than that the game is incredibly fun. I own several cigar box guitars – some I built – some I bought – usually fretted four strings that I mando tune. I wanted a three string for slide – I liked that this had a disk with a slide technique lesson. I was more than pleased – as an instrument, it's as good as most any CBG – they are all pretty crude at best. This one was easy to assemble – holds tune – sounds good acoustic or electric. There were some comments on it not using an actual cigar box, but a factory-made stylized resonator box. While this is true, it is at least as good as a cigar box, and I can understand why they broke that way for consistency and ease of build (which as I said, was super easy). Aesthetically, most people would probably prefer a real cigar box, but come on – it's like a uke – cheesy is part of the shtick. The lesson is good – play along CD and a book – comes with a good glass slide. I recommend it – worth the list price – all the better with the discounts.JoeFromSD
This is a great way to learn slide guitar. It is small & easy to learn. The book is full of great info. The CD is great, with back tracks, A tuning track so you do not need to buy a tuner, as long as you have something to play the CD in. It would be a good idea to buy a cheep tuner. As far as the price you just can't beat it. You can buy one for any wear from under $20.00 to $59.95. you just have to look around for a good price. Even at $30.00 to $ 40.00 is well worth it. The sound of the guitar very good and a small amp helps the sound but is not a must. Also you can take this any ware. In all this is a great product and was well thought out. I wanted a three string cigar box guitar and between a black friday discount and backstage pass points, I couldn't pass this up. Some reviewers complain that it's cardboard but domestic cigar boxes are predominantly cardboard. Also, Fender recently built a cardboard Strat that couldn't be told from a "real" Strat in a blind test. Build time was about ten minutes. I ran the strings around the tuners contrary to the directions so the string paths were straight. Sounds great acoustic and also great amplified. The only thing lacking is markers on the side of the neck. Maybe not sturdy enough for roughneck kids but a good introduction to the cigar box genre. Nice slide included.Mike

I am a huge Nirvana fan and was living in a figurative cave for a long while so when I finally opened my eyes and knew about this signature KC guitar, I knew I wanted it badly! The overall craftsmanship is great considering it is a MIM but many MIM's nowadays are great too. The only "cheap" part on this guitar is the synthetic nut but that can easily be replaced. The Dimarzio PUPs really scream! The neck is very smooth and playability is awesome! I took it to a guitar tech who set it up. He said he had to shim the neck because the TOM bridge is not stock to the guitar which is no problem and he also had to do a minor fret dress on a few that were a but off.JR
I have played guitar since age 12 or 13. My first guitar I purchased and took lessons at the store was a Fender Squier I believe I can't remember exactly. After that I had to upgrade from a squire.I couldn't stand a squire and never will again. After that I purchased a nice Fender strat. I can remember I kept searching stores looking for a guitar like Kurt Cobain played in Nirvana. And after this guitar purchase I have found the guitar I've been wanting since way back!!! All I can say is WOW!! I am astonished at how great a guitar this is. I recommend this guitar to anyone. The guitar is not just for Nirvana fan's. And you can go spend way over thousands of dollar_s for a vintage strat. To me this guitar looks better and the quality is great and sounds different than a Strat but of course it's a KC Jag. I would love to have a particular vintage strat but not for the vintage prices no way on this earth. The guitar is great with distortion. I recommend to buy this guitar. This is an amazing starter kit for anyone who is starting to play an Electric Guitar! One thing I really like about this starting kit is that not only it is affordable, perfect for college students, but it also has everything that you need to start learning how to play an electric guitar. Never before have I had an axe that had ZERO issues. The nut is Perfect (the E Strings(two outside strings) are perfectly measured from the sides of the fretboard. The floydrose stays in tune when you use it, the D-tuna is great, and if you break a string(at least a high E so far) there is no issue just keep playing because you are still in tune. One pick up is great because of all that space to not bang your pick on anything. The action is super low, and with 009's you are all set. Nice bridge humbucker and cleans up very well. The neck is great with no finish and overtime your own oils condition the wood(great idea EVH). Best of all no floating trem, Yay!surf_ping
Overall: Placed my order for the EVH EVH Frankie Red White and Black striped guitar, Friday 7-30-21 and received it a day earlier than expected Tuesday 8-3-21. This guitar exceeds all expectations for the price. If you know how to properly set a Floyd Rose style temolo, which it tedious in it's own right, it will consistently stay in tune after excessive abuse. I'll be honest. I haven't even watched all 3 videos, yet, but I wanted to give my initial take here before I forgot. I count on others to review, so here's what I see so far. First off, don't buy these if you don't have access to a computer. The paperwork comes as a pdf on the dvd itself, and you will not get much out of the course without being able to use the PDF. The backing tracks are on the website. I haven't been able to download them to my personal computer for burning, yet, but customer service tells me it's coming. I have been self taught for about two years, and I didn't make it all the way through the first DVD without having to practice a few things and build some finger dexterity, so I expect intermediate and advanced are going to be pretty intensive even for a seasoned player. His teaching style is very useful. He goes through each lesson one time very slow giving lots of detail. Then he speeds it up and shows you how it should sound. The expectation is the student will then study the tabs (PDF) and information provided and practice that lesson until mastery. Then come back for the next lesson and repeat. So far, I am really liking the way its working. He gives small amounts of information in each lesson. Something you can practice while spending family time or watching tv or whatever. Then builds the smaller lessons into a full song showing how to play the rhythm and lead with a backing track. If you want to learn any theory from these lessons, you'll have to trudge through the on-line supporting materials. These videos give you techniques and drills to master those techs. Then the techniques are used in a musical setting. Very effective, but very light on theory unless you study the reading material provided on line. I haven't been through enough of the on-line info to give you any idea how in depth they go. Just glanced and took note, okay that's where the theory is described. Also, if you just bought your first guitar, I'm not sure how well you would do with these. Maybe I'm wrong about that, but I picture it being tough for a first day player to grab these videos and get up to speed. If you have the open chords down and the pentatonic scale, do not hesitate, these will be perfect to move you forward from there. If your not to that point, you will likely use other resources along with these videos to get you going. Finally, I have e-mailed their customer service twice now. They responded within 24 hours the first time. The next time came over a weekend, so it took a little longer. I have been satisfied that they are willing and trying to make it a good experience for me. Good reports from me.

No clacky strum bar that ruins play, this time has even improved on previous models, that compared to the racket made by Guitar Hero peripherals is playable without having to use noise cancelling headphones. So there are people out there who think BC Rich sold out with this Stranger Things themed release. Whether that is true or not it doesn't take away from the fact that this is a great quality guitar. The neck is the high point for me. This is the best bolt on neck I've ever played. I would say it's better than a actual 85 Stealth NJ series neck that I own. Frets are silky smooth, not sharp at all. The paint overall is great and I don't see any imperfections. Could the crackle be better? Yes… is it bad? No. If you want a better crackle buy the run of 200. Only complaints are that the pictures were advertised with a run of 200 and now it's 2000. Takes away from the collector value. The electronics are horrible. But that was to be expected, the Floyd rose is cheap. The pros outweigh the bad which isn't a big deal. Great 80s themed guitar. Also the gig bag it came with is really nice.. Worth the buy.Nick
This thing is killer. Fantastic attention to detail. Even if you are not into Stranger Things it is still well worth the money. The Red Crackle finish is awesome and there were only 1000 made with (the other 1000 are the black finish). Also comes with a very nice B.C Rich gig bag which fits it perfectly. Dont bother spending 5K on the Custom Shop version as this will be the one to have.Kevin
Excellent quality! Neck and frets are perfect, pickups sound great clean or high gain, and quality control is on point! No neck dive or anything either! Oh, and can't forget how awesome the crackle finish is!!!! I personally like this better than my old 87' USA BCR gunslinger. My only complaint is it was advertised to come with a FR 1000 and came with a special. They've since fixed this and the bridge works great either way. This guitar is a game changer for this company!
