I upgraded my pickups in MIM strat and wanted to go black from the existing white. I lost a humbucker for a single coil in the process and needed a new pickguard. My strat was the midnight wine color (dark) and the black looks absolutely awesome on it compared to the white. Everything fit perfect. No mis aligned screws etc as often occurs when changing out parts on some MIM strats. The strat is year model 2006. The only complaint and it is notable band the reason the rating is a bit lower: I understand black loves scratches but come on, the instant I wiped the pick guard with a very soft cloth, massive scratches. It is brand new and very scratched. Even micro fiber cloth marks it. I know it will get scratched but I wanted the shine at least until playing it caused scratches. I would prefer to pay a little more and Fender make the plastic more scratch resistant. That can be done very easily in the polymers/chemistry chosen. Other than the scratching gripe, typical good quality OEM Fender, looks sharp, fits good. Change your color and personalize your strat easily. I am glad I did.
I love the aged look of the pickup covers and knobs. I have ordered many over the years. The tremolo cover does not match at all and usually has a mint green color. That part of the kit is a waste. I have piles of them which I cannot use. The best look for your Strat is a W/B/W pickguard with matching tremolo cover and these pickup covers and knobs. I will continue to buy the kit. I have tried several others and they are always lacking.lawellness

Looked too simple to be true, but the abrasive tip was great for smoothing down the scratch in a small area. Just work it back and forth along the scratch until you can move your fingernail across it without it grabbing. Then clean the scratch area with rubbing alcohol and paint the scratch with the ready to go brush. Let it dry for five minutes and paint it again. Reapply until the new paint layer is higher than the original car’s factory coat. It does not have to be pretty. Then sand it down wet and/or dry (trying to keep the area small) with another Auto Zone product “Finish 1st Assorted Wet/Dry Sandpaper 6 Piece. Once you can rub your fingers across it with eyes closed and not be able to tell where the scratch was… you can then rub it out with Meguiar's M10508 Mirror Glaze Ultra-Cut Compound (also found at Auto Zone) and it will look like new.David

I bought this to repair a few rock chips on my vehicle. At first glance I thought the small tip was for fine paint correction of small areas. Turned out to be a sanding block. I was actually cool with that. Made it possible to properly prep areas prior to painting. What I was disappointed with was the big, sloppy, un-manicured brush used for touch up. Why do these companies provide such a brush that doesn’t work very well when attempting to stay within the confines of a small area of damage. I’m not Michael Angelo… I need all the help I can get. This is an absolutely fantastic product, and completely exceeded my expectations. I have "ebony" rims on my 2016 Ford Fusion which were immaculate until one fateful day when I clipped a curb when taking a turn and suffered some "curb rash." The paint scraped off and there was about an inch of exposed alloy which was painfully obvious since it's silver-colored and the rest of my wheels are black. I read the reviews for a number of products and finally settled on this one since it looked like an easy application and came with a clear coat to protect the work. And WOW, it really worked. I sanded the area down just a little bit, and started to apply the paint. I only needed to apply one coat and it was perfect, completely matching the original paint work. I didn't even bother doing a second coat of black, it was so perfect. I let it dry for 30 minutes and then applied the clear coat and now you can't even tell there was any damage to the rims whatsoever. And I mean that seriously, or I would have said so. You can only tell if your eyeballs are inches from the rims and/or you run your fingers across the surface of the rims and find a small rough patch from the initial scraping. This stuff is perfect and works 10 times better than some of the crazy home remedies I searched for on YouTube before settling for this product. I'm sure it works just as well on the paint on your car, but for those people who scraped their rims on a curb, this is the perfect solution for you. My rims have a kind of sheen to them so I went with this Universal Black, which makes it a bit shiny after application. PERFECT!C.D.
Worth every penny to go over those small chips that looked distracting. TYROGER
Someone keyed my wife's 2017 QX70; envy, jealousy, or just plain stupidity. So, I was tasked with fixing it. You have to be careful using this product, otherwise you'll still see where the fill marks were. Especially if the scratch can be felt by moving your nail across it. With a magnifying glass you have to remove ALL of the excess particles from the scratch; this will take time. Then carefully fill the crevice with the Touch-up paint, blotting it as you go along. Preferably you'll use a heat gun so the paint dries and flattens in the crevice, you may have to do this multiple times until the crevice is filled. Then using 2000 grit paper "level" out the surface of the crevice. Afterwards, you apply a thin coat, or two of clearcoat over the painted area. Using 3000 grit paper, you'll level out the clearcoat you applied. Dupli-Color doesn't tell you that.E.G.

This is an absolutely fantastic product, and completely exceeded my expectations. I have "ebony" rims on my 2016 Ford Fusion which were immaculate until one fateful day when I clipped a curb when taking a turn and suffered some "curb rash." The paint scraped off and there was about an inch of exposed alloy which was painfully obvious since it's silver-colored and the rest of my wheels are black. I read the reviews for a number of products and finally settled on this one since it looked like an easy application and came with a clear coat to protect the work. And WOW, it really worked. I sanded the area down just a little bit, and started to apply the paint. I only needed to apply one coat and it was perfect, completely matching the original paint work. I didn't even bother doing a second coat of black, it was so perfect. I let it dry for 30 minutes and then applied the clear coat and now you can't even tell there was any damage to the rims whatsoever. And I mean that seriously, or I would have said so. You can only tell if your eyeballs are inches from the rims and/or you run your fingers across the surface of the rims and find a small rough patch from the initial scraping. This stuff is perfect and works 10 times better than some of the crazy home remedies I searched for on YouTube before settling for this product. I'm sure it works just as well on the paint on your car, but for those people who scraped their rims on a curb, this is the perfect solution for you. My rims have a kind of sheen to them so I went with this Universal Black, which makes it a bit shiny after application. PERFECT!C.D.
It is the best I could find although not perfect. The product looked really off until it dried completely. There were still a few areas that look textured and off color. I had a lootttt of scratches so I wouldn't say it blends big areas completely. It certainly helped a lot for the price. Product flaw: the clear sponge brush broke off. I had to clean the color paint brush and use in the clear top coat paint pot instead which did a decent job. Overall I think this is most ideal for small scratches here and there. I used the entire contents for the large scratches I had and it will need something else to blend the large areas better.B.
I purchased one like this year ago for my other car it was awful. This pen is AMAZING! Once it is fully cured and dried it blends right in just give it a few days. For scratches and small knicks I apply the paint then immediately wipe it with a paper towel. This way it isnt bubbled up and it still fills the gap. Just dont add door much or it will spread and ull have to cover more with the clear coat. Practice in a test piece till you learn how it works. You can also pour a bit out then use a toothpick to apply it on small parts. Great product very happy with it! I just bought an 8 yo silverado and the shape of the wheel well fenders are rock catchers so I scraped and painted all the dings so now you cant even tell they were there!J.

Bought about 12 of the Light Blue Spray Cans and some primer and sealer to give our 1988 Dodge Van a new coat of paint on the upper body to cover rust and chips. This is the second time in three years masking, sealing, sanding and painting this workhorse van. The original, 1988 paint on the top was metallic which eroded much faster than the normal paint on the remainder of the van. Love the Duplicolor spray can for ease of application, but the paint needs to be available in a spray can twice the size. Love the Duplicolor quality, and reliability and uniformity of color between cans. Also appreciate that several stores approached were quick about ordering in as many cans as I needed, practically overnight. Really like the small town atmosphere of Advance Auto Parts shops and personalized service.
