Reviews:
I own a couple Ernie Ball VP Jr volume pedals, and while these pedals are superior to the Boss FV50 in terms of build quality and feel, they're heavy. I'm putting together a small pedalboard for bus and train travel and so weight is my primary concern. I picked up the FV50H for use with guitar as well as the EV-5 expression pedal. So far they're working out great.hexagon
Some unusual advantages here, compared to most passive volume pedals: Weighs < 1 lb. (and feels even lighter); stereo throughput (good for keyboards); and minimal tone suck. Has the same abrupt taper as most volume pedals — active or passive — but its "minimum volume" knob helps you tweak this: You can set the pedal's heel position to provide anything between zero volume and full volume (= no cut from toe position). This simulates a more-gradual taper/response, if you can live with a heel position that doesn't entirely cut out your sound. E.g., set the heel position to your basic rhythm-guitar volume level, then rock forward to the toe position for solos. The Interwebs claim that you can use a TRS cable, plus a standard patch cable, to make any passive volume pedal work with an expression-pedal input. I haven't tried that yet with this one. But I like it — perfect for my needs.Grasshopper

Reviews:
I'm running through an inexpensive Marshall 30-watt solid state amp. Using a variety of guitars into the EHX volume pedal directly to the amp introduces a noticeable hiss that becomes very pronounced in the middle of the sweep. That said, when I run the EHX into a Pignose the hiss is nearly non-existent. Running a keyboard through the EHX into the Marshall works fine with no hiss. Must be something odd in my setup somewhere. Doesn't really accomplish what I'm looking for anyway, I think I'm looking for something more like a boost pedal. Seems to be a well-constructed pedal, works fine in some applications, just not through my particular guitar setup. Most of the other reviewers have no complaints so it's probably a great pedal, just not exactly what I need.buckg

Reviews:
I have been on the hunt for a volume pedal with a few characteristics. It had to be somewhat small, so it doesnβt take up a huge space on my board. It couldnβt be like the VP JR with its wire mechanism. And it had to be a quality build. I have several friends who own the VP JR and theyβre constantly fixing the wire, something I donβt want to have to do. So the mechanism used here seem way better and will hopefully last a long time. I love the travel of this pedal as well as the resistance, it was perfect out of the box for me. The build quality is also great and it fits on my board without taking up a huge amount of space. Itβs not tiny but itβs also not like a Cry Baby size. So far operation has been flawless and the pedal just works brilliantly. I am very happy with Xotic XVP 250K volume pedal. I think volume pedals are a personal thing but I would highly recommend this.
Pedal works great you donβt lose any tone and the action is super smooth.Isaac

Still the best. Price increased only by $10 since inflation hit the pedal market, so not too bad. Tried many others. Still my go-to pedal. Heavy, fits my foot nicely. Not to small or large. L/R in/out, plus exp jack. Tension setting helps for fine tuning volume control. Recommend remove base plate and blow out rheostat once a year or so. Use compressed air (Office Depot/Office Max)mud1105
I needed a pedal to help me get my volume right at shows….Using the gtr volume control and or a volume pedal in front of my pedal board just changes the drive into the FX. I get everything nicely balanced in the studio or at home, and then each venue has odd sound characteristics and sometimes I am too loud in my rhythm and too soft in my leads & no time to get everything adjusted just right. So I wanted a simple master volume pedal after all the FX and before the amp…(did not want to hassle with more cables needed for the FX loop). I have tried them all…none worked well for me….Well, here is what I learned: This pedal has a min volume control which allows more accurate setting of the pedal to the volume I need mid-song. This control was key, allowed me to zero in on the volume easily as small changes in the pedal position did not produce huge changes in volume. The pedal does not cut the quality, at least not in noisy bars and restaurants. So it's very good. But the real point is after years of not doing the volume thing well with my right foot I discovered that I was much better at the task using my left foot…and I am right handed!! This has changed everything. Turns out, the issue was my right leg is way sturdier to stand on and control the volume with my left foot. If you have a problem with this type of thing, just try your other foot. The pedal and this simple foot change basically solved the issue. I am not perfect, but way better than before and I get better with each gig!!BC 123
Our keyboard player also plays steel guitar. We built a stand that integrates with the keyboard, so she can switch between keyboard and steel very quickly. We now own two of these volume controls. The first one is mounted to the effects pedal attached to our keyboard. The other is a spare. We use channel 1 for keyboard volume control and channel 2 for steel guitar volume control. It saves us from cluttering our board with two pedals. I wish we could run stereo keyboard, but we forgo that for practicality. We like the overall feel of the FV-500L Stereo Volume Pedal. The only drawback we can find is its size. It's about a foot long. But overall we like it.Uncle Ronnie

I was skeptical about this purchase, but wanted a combo wah/volume pedal for my mini board. Well, this unit is great,if you are looking to go small. Sound quality: Better than my Crybaby! Really happy with the wah. The volume has an equal span across the pedal. Features: Small footprint. The only issue I had, and it's mostly cosmetic, is that I wish the leds were on the side rather top pedal because my foot covers the top and I cannot tell (sometimes) if I'm in wah/volume mode when playing with the band until I depress the pedal and listen closely. All in all I am very pleased with this pedal. I play professionally every weekend and believe this pedal will last a long time, as long as I take care because it is basically made from plastic.just42daysteve

Ive bought and sold lots of wah pedals, just tryin to find the right one, like, from voxs, to cry babys to mini wahs, and even other morley wahs……….other wahs try to give you extra features such as switchless and or fuzz built in etc…….The morley dragon wah, was good but it was switchless, and the problem with switchless is it cuts out if you rock too far back, the problem with the cry baby and vox, is you have to turn it on by spomping down on it, again, you can accidently turn it off if you go too crazy, and as many musician has discovered because it has no light to indicate its on, you sometimes leave it on……..So the morley m2……on /off switch is a big fat stomp knob, you have a light that tells you its on, and you can go as crazy as you want rockin way forward and back with out accidently switchin it off……..and on top of that it sounds great………you also can adjust the level of wah, and also leave it cocked at different angles for those wah tones ……….This in my opinion is the best wah on the marketspitlip

Reviews:
I bought this pedal right when they announced it, as I was recording and my Ernie Ball volume pedal had an unfixable scratchy pot. Well, this pedal seemed like a godsend with no moving parts and a calibrated sweep. NOT THE CASE! There are two reasons why I use a volume pedal: one is to erase the attack of my pick to get a bow-type sound. The other is to set my rig at a certain volume, say for an open mic night or something where I know people won't use my guitar's volume knob. This pedal can't do either unfortunately. If my foot isn't depressing the pedal, it resets to full volume. When I want to do swells, it seems like no matter how I calibrate the pedal, I cannot get a satisfactory swell. In my experience, the pedal goes from zero volume to halfway with the tiniest motion of my foot, then the most noticable expression is from half volume to full. It never really sounds like a swell in the beginning; it sounds like the pedal is off, then to half-volume. There is a noticable moment when the pedal starts "expressing" the volume. On my scratchy Ernie Ball, this expression is seamless, and the swell is smooth (in terms of the actual volume output) from no volume to full volume. Also, and this was the final straw for me, there is noticable noise when the pedal is switched on. Since this pedal is used primarily in low-volume situations for me this was unacceptable. I had very high hopes for this pedal because I am a fan of EHX and their visionary pedals. But this pedal needs to be retracted for further development. It was a good try but I feel like more of a beta tester than a musician gigging and recording with this thing. I did not end up recording with this pedal, and instead went through the labor of programming an algorithm for the repeated swells in the song. This Evil Ross
14. Boss Volume Pedal (Fv-500h)
Product Details:
Large and seemingly indestructible, the fv500h from boss is a value pedal to be reckoned with.' heavy duty' does not begin to describe how tough this pedal is! it's large enough for any foot and has a very smooth sweep. this pedal will withstand tour after tour.it's mono and high impedance, so this is suitable for electric guitars. you'll find a jack output for a tuner and a knob for setting the minimum volume, a very useful feature that isn't too often found on volume pedals.this is a serious option for guitarists who play live often. the boss fv500h is a pedal you can rely on.

Reviews:
Overall: Itβs huge but itβs also surprisingly light weight. Because itβs so big it feels good under your foot. The resistance (which is adjustable) is, to me, just right because instead of fighting against you, itβs follows you like a shadow. The volume taper is pretty steep. Once you get the pedal to about 40% open, youβve got 90% volume. Thatβs not necessarily a bad thing, itβs just something to get used to. What would be great is if you could adjust the taper of the volume. Maybe thereβs a mod floating around on the interwebs? You can set the minimum volume which could be useful for using it as a boost right before an overdrive pedal whereby you set the minimum volume and put the pedal all the way down and when you want to melt some faces, you can open up the pedal all the way to slam the overdrive into…overdrive. I put the volume pedal after distortion and before modulation. That way I can swell into the modulation, delay, and reverb while preserving the trails of the effects that come after the volume once the volume is all the way down. My biggest gripe would be that the jacks are recessed into the enclosure. You can use a 90 degree connector for the top of the pedal, but itβs a juggling act. The side jack for the tuner can only be used with a straight connector. As it would happen, because the pedal is so big, it takes its own entire section of my pedalboard, so space at the top of the pedal wasnβt an issue. I did opt to use straight jack connectors from the top because I had the space and I didnβt want to stress the connectors on a 90 degree jack. Overall itβs a good volume pedal. I dinged it one star because of the volume tapering and recessed jacks. I still think itβs a better volume pedal than the others in its price range, but there are better volume pedals out there.
I'm going to make this very simple. It is very robust and does what it says it should do. I have two quibbles however that detracts from a 5 star rating. 1. No matter where in the chain I placed it (I use buffers), on low volume settings, all the top end disappears from the tone. 2. I love the idea of a separate control to set the minimum volume level, however I strongly believe it needs a wider range. It appears to have a "maximum" minimum volume (if that makes sense?) of about half. This is exactly the point at which all the tone is sacrificed. For players who simply want a slightly lower rhythm volume and therefore to use the pedal like a "boost" to help leads cut through, a lot of finesse is required in getting the pedal to exactly the right angle. Had they allowed the minimum volume control cover the full range of the pedal, it would be much improved.Daniel C.
I use this pedal as an expression pedal with my Arturia Keylab88 MkII. This Boss pedal is one of the only ones out there that work 100% perfectly with Arturia's products. I bought it because it's made out of metal, it's durable, I can kick it and use it as much as I want and it will still feel solid and steady.YOHAI

Reviews:
Sounds great. Also surprising versatility with the HP/LP settings. One criticism is that its very loud. Slotting in after 2 boosts and an OD, then before a fuzz has played havoc with my gain structure as, with those other pedals operating within normal vol ranges, I've found the volume on the OCD needs to be most of the way down when using drive greater than 12-o-clock which is even more noticeable on the HP setting. Btw, that's into a highish headroom amp so if you were using the OCD to further drive an already breaking up amp into much more compression then probably not that great an issueReviewed by Andertons Music Co.
I needed something to stack along side of my TS that did not overpower the sound of the other pedal or sound too thick on its own. This pedal sounds fantastic with single coil pickups and pairs extremely well with other OD pedals. I like the fact it can run on either battery, 9V, or 18V AC connections, making this a great choice if you have limited ports on your power supply. On its own, it stands out very well when dialing up the drive settings and it sounds absolutely great coming through a properly dimed tube amplifier. It is no coincidence you see these pedals on the boards of many great professional players… This box just has excellent tone and all their products are handmade in the USA with plenty of care involved–making them a quality purchase. I am looking at collecting a couple of other earlier versions as some have tonal differences that work better with other set ups. Overall very satisfied with this purchase.built_for_speed
I've owned the Fulltone OCD for just over a week now and I can confidently say it's the best overdrive effects pedal I've ever had the pleasure of using. It has a sturdy build, it's versatile, it retains the original tone and colour of your guitar/amp combo and it's LOUD! I wanted a pedal that would fit compliment my '65 Twin Reverb Reissue amp and Telecaster, I love the tone of my setup but I really needed some bite in the shape of a good overdrive. After doing some research and seeing the name Fulltone OCD pop up again and again I started to get very curious about this pedal, the clincher was when I saw it on the pedal board of a guitarist on youtube who was showing off some of my favourite licks! I'm glad I chose the OCD. The fact that new OCD stock routinely goes out of stock shortly after going on sale on most websites should tell you everything! Recommended.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
16. Morley Mark 1 Mark Tremonti Wah Pedal
Product Details:
Mark tremonti wah, really great wah with optional up to 20 db boost (used via the knob). step on, instant wah, step off, switches back out. the wah is optical, switchless, true bypass. extremely robust.haven't used it as much as i thought i would, never left the house. it's collecting dust mostly. the knop has been bitten on by a rabbit, that's the only reason this product isn't rated "excellent". functions perfectly. 23cm by 14 cm, built like a tank. like the sound a lot, though mine has evolved a bit so – thought there must be someone who wants to try this one out.it needs 9v dc center negative, adapter not included.

There is really nothing bad I can say about this awesome pedal. The only problem I have with it is that I had the Bad Horsie one before it. That thing finally gave out after years of stomping on it. I tried to fix it myself but only made it worse. I ended up smashing it against the walll out of frustration. So being a fan of Tremonti I got his pedal. I really love it but I got so used to the slickness of the bad horsie that its taking some time to learn how to manipulate the tremonti one into doing what I want. Other than that I love it. I think I will have both in my pedal board. The Horsie and the Tremonti.Drew
I've had the Morley Mark Tremonti Wah for about a year now after switching from a crybaby and I couldn't be happier. It's perfect for a pronounced lead voice which is what i use it for. It has a great range with no dead spots and an addicting tone that you simply can't get from a crybaby. I've heard about people downing the switch-less design due to a delayed shut off, but this pedal has a trim pot on the inside so you can adjust the delay of the pedal turning off or make it have no delay at all. It's a very cool feature that not many people really know about i guess. I also love the boost feature on this pedal though I'd suggest not cranking the boost knob because things get a little too hairy on the high-end. I run this with a Morley Power Volume+, a T-Rex Tremonti Phaser, and an Empress Vintage Modified Superdelay through a Mesa/Boogie Stiletto Trident and a Mesa/Boogie 4X12 cab. I would definitely recommend this wah to any hard rock/metal guitarist who is looking to break away from the bland and overplayed crybaby realm. Keep Shredding!PRSslinger
Had an older one for a while but the bypass wasnβt perfect and it let the tone just slightly flutter when the pedal wasnβt used. Bought this and itβs perfect, so so easy to use, bypass works great, got a little booster just to top it. I need this in songs I play at rehearsals and gigs as I canβt switch a crybaby on and off fast and efficiently enough so this pedal really saves the day .Alex L.

Reviews:
I am a home use player and wanted to run this in the effects loop of my 40 watt tube amp to get my preamp crunch without blowing out my windows. I quickly noted that the response was smooth and just what i wanted except that as i neared the full heel position to get the volume i wanted, i was getting some very loud popping from my amp which i worried might blow a speaker. I read online that other Ernie Ball vp owners had noted that there were loose solder contacts on the pot. I took a look and sure enough, one of the solder lugs was loose on mine too. The wire was soldered just fine but the lug was loosely crimped to the little board on the pot. I took the pedal apart pulled the pot out, crimped the solder lug better put it back together (which was a real pain to get the string wrapped correctly and back on the spring). With the pedal back together, it worked great and gave me exactly what i wanted with no popping. This is a great product but could really benefit from some better quality control.Jack
This volume pedal has a great, even volume swell. The addition of gain controls makes the volume pedal even more useful, however. When I'm playing bass, I sometimes want to increase volume for certain passages, but without the sudden change in tone that comes from an overdrive or boost pedal. This does that (I use a few different class D amps). Additionally, this allows me to have greater flexibility with my volume without needing to fiddle with my amp or bass' volume knobs while playing. On guitar, this can act as a nice, subtle boost that can push gain-ier amps (I use an Orange) into some sweet saturation. Great pedal.Derek P
18. Lehle Mono Volume 90 Pedal
Product Details:
This is by far my favorite volume pedal and i ve tried many high end ones. i ve had this for just a couple months, and only selling to rebuy the smaller one for my mini rig. lehle is definitely the of the line in quality and durability for sure. has some scuffs on the left side due to rubbing against the rail of my tight board. (never got banged up, was always secure) comes with the manual in mint condition. wish i still had the original box but i threw it out by accident. due to the scuffs i can t put mint condition but it s like new as you can see everywhere else.

Reviews:
This is a great volume pedal, the mechanical action is very smooth with adjustable tension. The taper response is good and adjustable though I found it fine straight out the box on the default setting. Being potless, as it is using a magnetic field to control volume level and has a built in pre-amp, it does not suck tone. I did a compare with the pedal in circuit vs straight from the guitar into the amp and could hear no discernable difference in the tonal response. I bought the mono 90 version of the pedal as I will use it with pedal steel guitar which requires the jacks to be on the right hand side of the pedal as opposed to having them on the front. Volume pedals dedicated to pedal steel guitar use are generally very expensive for what they are, this pedal came in at well below the cheapest comparable pedal steel pedal and functions just as well imho. Another positive feature is that it works with a standard 9v power supply, so can be powered from an existing pedal power supply. I believe it uses a voltage multiplier in the circuit to boost the 9v up to higher voltage which increases the headroom response. All in all, very pleased with it and would recommend this make of volume pedal.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
19. Goodrich Sound L-120 Low Profile Passive Volume Pedal
Product Details:
The goodrich l-120 is the "low profile" version as described above. wether sitting behind a steel guitar or standing over a pedal board, for additional balance and comfort, the "low profile" is available. if you are long-legged person, or prefer having both legs at about the same height when you play, the "lowboy" goodrich pedal is probably your answer. three quarters of an inch has been shaved off its height, and the pedal weighs a little less than the model h-120. otherwise, the two pedals are identical. many players appreciate this added comfort. it is a bit more expensive due to the additional machining required to reduce its height.
