Best Guitar Hero Controller For Pc (2024 Update)

Bought this for my son for his birthday and we had issues with connecting the controller to the Xbox at first. Then after that had more issues with guitar. Finally just returned it all. Thank goodnessmotherofonespecialboy1

Loved playing guitar hero again. Guitar controllers worked with no issues. I adjusted the audio and visual lag from the game itself and I had no problems with the timing of buttons after that. I suggest guitar hero 3 for these controllers 🙂p-hhog-dze0har

As far as plastic musical instruments go, this particular model has been somewhat clunky and unreliable for me. I have reasons that I stick with it, primarily it's lower price in comparison with the wireless LP models, and that fact that it's powered USB instead of AA batteries. I recently purchased my 3rd Xplorer guitar. The previous two both had mysterious button failure (both the green button) that I cannot repair. Pros: Cheaper to replace than the Wireless model No batteries means less money spent (or less time recharging) No signal interference or missed notes that the wireless sometimes suffers Cons: Shorter lifespan than wireless models Cord keeps you tethered to your console, preventing long-distance jamming Whammy bar is often very loose and dangles around Overall, this is an average instrument for GH. The Les Paul from GH3 (after you fix the neck) seems much more reliable, but goes for $20-30 more. They're both just plastic guitars, but this one just seems to break more often than the wireless and RB instruments. Average!mufanchu43

I decided to buy this for the PC clone of Guitar Hero called Frets On Fire. I read on a few forums this has a USB connection and will work with windows XP and above. Had to find drivers on the website before it worked for my xp system though. Works great. I just have to get used to spreading my fingers out to where they need to be. I'm not or never was a guitar player so it's going to take some adjusting. Also the whammy bar doesn't work with FOF, but that doesn't matter anyway. -= PROS =- Works on PC with USB Works with FOF Feels sturdy. I think it will last. -= CONS =- Whammy bar doesn't work with FOF. It is however recognized by windows. Buttons are spread a little too far apart for my hand. I'll adjust. I am totally addicted to this game! Love the songs, I've already beat the game on easy and now working on the medium level. Lots of great songs and so much fun. Love the Run DMC bit, lots of cool cover band songs too. I skipped thru the Aerosmith interviews because I was so anxious to play. I totally "wussed out" on the guitar battle challenge. Even on easy it was way too hard for me. Hate that it actually says that I "wussed out" on that part on my "career". Guess I have to just keep practicing. :)My hands are all cramped up because I just can't put this thing down! I just love all guitar hero or rock band games. I played these games before I joined band in school. I love the musical aspect of it to keep rhythm and beats going and making sure you hit the correct button at the correct time. I feel like this help d me into the music world.tif.d

I am not sure why every one would give this a 10, because of the taste? How does that help you with your goals? You should be reading the list of ingredients, those ingredients after the proteins listed, like: Maltodextrin, Mono- And Diglycerides, Dipotassium Phosphate, Sodium Silicoaluminate, Disodium Phosphate, Silicon Dioxide, Artificial Flavors, Salt, Sucralose, Acesulfame Potassium. So I see fats, salts, sugars, artificial flavors, etc. Look them up. To me that's not a 10. So, maybe it tastes good, but how will it help me with my goals…it won't. So many reviews on here are hung up on taste. If a supp taste lousy but works, I'll get it down…but supps shouldn't be about a taste contest. I really like this controller. Nvidia didn't try to reinvent the wheel on this one, but at the same time they added some nice features that improve the quality of life for their users and demonstrate a measure of foresight as well. Overall, the controller has a nice sturdy feel to it and a good weight. In general, it doesn't feel cheap (which is good since it'll set you back almost $60). The only gripe I have with the construction lies in the little trackpad centered between the joysticks. This piece feels thin and flimsy. While it serves its purpose admirably, I can't help but feel that if something on this controller isn't going to last it's probably the trackpad. Speaking of the trackpad, this is one of those quality of life things that I think is just brilliant. It works great when streaming games from your PC. Occasionally you just need a mouse cursor to get things done and this little trackpad does just that. Some users have complained that the trackpad isn't very responsive. While the sensitivity could use an option for customization, in general it's used so little that I don't find it to be inordinately slow or cumbersome. As for the controller's performance, it's great. Buttons are springy and smooth, very responsive, and not at all difficult to push. The triggers have a particularly nice feel to them. You'll notice no delay in your commands from the controller to the Shield thanks to the direct WiFi connection between the two devices. I wish the controller had a battery life indicator on it, but it does not. However, when the controller is connected to the Shield, a small controller-shaped icon appears on the notification bar which is shaded to approximate the percentage remaining on the controller's battery. In my time spent with the device, I can attest to enjoying quite a long time between charges, so if the icon is more than a quarter shaded you'll be good to game until the cows come home. The controller can be a bit awkward to turn off, if you want to save battery. You need to touch and hold the capacitive Nvidia logo until the backlight turns off. In practice, this never seems to take the same amount of time. Sometimes I touch and hold for 3 seconds, other times it's been as long as 7 seconds. It's just odd, and it's not very apparent anywhere that this is exactly how you turn off the controller. Minor gripe, when it comes down to it. The controller also features a headphone port and a mic to serve your gaming needs, which is nice, but don't expect the mic to work while streaming a game from your computer. It seems to work exclusively with Android games (I'm not sure if it works with other apps or not). Bottom line. The price tag is a little steep, but this is a nice controller with almost no latency. If you're shelling out for the Shield tablet you'll want to grab one of these. Unless, of course, you don't plan on gaming with your Shield. But then you should just get a different tablet altNathan K.

Overall a great controller, only taking about ten minutes to work out all the kinks and have it working effectively. I don't own an Nvidia Shield, so I can't vouch for its effectiveness there, having only bought it for PC use in place of buying an Xbox One gamepad or some such. I'd like to speak briefly here on compatibility, playing on a PC, and some technical stuff I've found here: When using the gamepad and playing over GameStream, the controller is detected on Windows as a "GamePad," but only over GameStream. Otherwise windows only recognizes the mouse pad, and it doesn't work well at all. With saying this, over GameStream, you -can- map all the buttons on the controller to any program that allows button mapping. Android games are a different story; for the most part, they need controller support to work well. I've been trying to play Deus Ex: The Fall, but it only recognizes my controller in touch-command format. It is interesting applying each button to touching a certain area on the screen, but overall it does not work as well as controller support does. Fun to mess with, though. —————— Lastly let me explain how to use the GamePad on your PC: You -cannot- directly connect it, but you can cheat! Here's how: Connect your tablet to your computer via GameStream, but do so by launching remote desktop (Check Nvidia's website for how to do so on Windows 7). Go to your audio settings and change the default sound device back to your PC's speakers (Unless you don't want that. :/). Then launch any game from here, no matter if full screen or windowed, and you should have audio only from your PC rather than only on your tablet. Voila! You have a controller connected to your PC through the "wireless receiver" of your SHIELD Tablet! (Personally, I wanted this badly because I have a 5.1 Surround setup). This is a good setup unless Nvidia provides the drivers to detect the controller properly on Windows. Console Mode was made to alleviate this issue otherwise. Just get a mini HDMI cable, plug it into the nearest HD TV or Monitor (or Receiver), launch Console Mode, and you should have the same quality of gaming! (Minus true 5.1 surround, unless your receiver/home theater can emulate it).Larry S.

Cant even really use the Guitar it looks great at first,Then when I was playing it the batteries kept popping out it kept shutting off during play. When I opened the battery compartment and saw that they just keep popping out. Ive tried to tape them and put the cover on but it doesnt work and even if you move the guitar a little bit which is what you do when youre trying to play guitar the batteries just keep popping out in the guitar controller keeps shutting offredag.da.bu2ia2ynmg

I was suprised to see a Guitar Hero controller in this good of condition. Most contollers you see now a days are completely corroded on this inside, but the wires in this one are so shiny I could use it to signal planes! The only problem I had with the controller was the stickers, but who didn't put stickers on their controller when the game came out. Plus, a little goo gone and water takes them right off. I also appreciate the inclusion of a strap with the controller. I don't use the strap that often, but I like having it there if I need it. Overall I am super happy with this purchase.dj94546
