The alvarez artist series ab60ce acoustic/electric bass guitar cutaway is warm, punchy and resonant and comes with the amazing sys650 dual pickup, blend system eq with tuner. this bass is a member of the alvarez artist '60 series. alvarez was careful to get the construction just right to allow this series to sing, and deliver a player experience that's exceptional for a mid price instrument. the term "solid top" of course refers to the soundboard of an acoustic guitar being made of solid wood, rather than being laminated. however, just because the top is solid, it doesn't necessarily mean the sound automatically benefits from this feature. the tone of the instrument only improves significantly when the whole guitar is built correctly to really release the energy a solid soundboard can generate. the artist series is built to do exactly this. each model is designed to get the best out if its components, and for them to work together to produce a tone and player experience, rarely found in affordable instruments. the sound is warm, open and powerful, and both the treble and bass registers are clearly present and balanced in relation to each other. acoustic bass guitar. hand selected, a' grade, solid sitka spruce top. hand sanded, scalloped bracing. mahogany back and sides. sys650 dual pick up, blend system e.q. w/tuner. alvarez bi-level rosewood bridge. rosewood fingerboard. premium, high gloss finish. dovetail neck joint. real bone nut and saddle. paua abalone and mother of pearl inlays. premium die cast chrome tuners. abs binding. d'addario strings.
Reviews:
Overall: I ordered this bass online because it was really the only option a bass player has for an acoustic or most electrics sadly. I received the first one the next day after I ordered it because I payed for overnight shipping. The bass arrived with a crack behind the bridge. Needless to say I was very disappointed. I immediately contacted zZounds. They furnished the shipping label and promised me a replacement would ship out that day overnight to me. This was important because I needed the bass for an acoustic set we were doing that Sunday. The guitar did not ship that day. It shipped the next day and did not arrive till that Monday. I was disappointed. When the replacement did arrive it also had a crack behind the bridge but this crack was in the seam where they joined the two top pieces. I was livid, but this is where zZounds showed how great a company they are. They reimbursed my Luthiers cost to repair it and discounted the bass. They are a great company and truly aren't happy until you are. I will continue to buy from zZounds in the future. I would recommend all bass players buy their acoustic basses from zZounds. The guitar will always need a setup from your local guys but you get such a better deal with zZounds it's still a good deal. In summary a bass player will nearly always have to buy an acoustic version online because most all guitar stores cater to guitarists. It's just a fact, but bassists can buy from zZounds with 100% peace of mind because they have your back and will always go the extra mile with customer service. So go ahead buy it. There's no excuse.Brian
Overall: I was looking for a bass to play in acoustic jam sessions with mostly 6 string guitars. Looked at, tried, researched, and even bought a couple. This was the best one I found for under a grand that is loud enough to hang with the group. And this one is under $500. Also, plugged in it is outstanding! Check it out.Denver

Reviews:
I am an intermediate player. I was looking for a parlor guitar in part due to the guitar lessons on Active Melody, where the instructor, Brian, uses a similar model, which sounds fantastic. I bought a "scratch and dent" to save some money, but it is verydifficult to see the blemishes. MF described the cosmetic blems perfectly, but they were much more minor than I expected. My wife could not find them. The set up was perfect right out of the box. I put on new strings when it arrived, and have not put the guitar down since (about a week ago). I use it mainly for finger picking, and it sounds great. It is amazing to be able to purchase such a beautiful instrument for so little. I have several more-expensive guitars, including a 15-year old Martin D16GT and a newer Seagull S6, but I am drawn to this Alverez's warm sound and projection. It is also easier to play than the Martin. I had a bit of trouble finding a case that fits, but eventually bought the Luna LLFP. It much more sturdy and padded than the standard gig bag, and the guitar fits nicely. It is also much lighter than a hard shell, and about half the price. (But the case also arrived with a nasty chemical smell inside, but I guess this will fade.) In summary, I am very happy with the Alverez AP70, and I would highly happily recommend it to my friends. I wish I had this one when I was just starting out.rabbitt
Bought this model to get back to playing after a bad accident stopped me playing at a time when I owned a seriously expensive guitar. Didn’t want to spend too much in case I couldn’t get back into playing but I can’t praise this guitar too highly. The tone is outstanding and it’s playability is second to none. The guitar is set up perfectly, no need to have it set up at your expense as with a lot of guitars out there. The build quality is superb and as it sits it the stand encourages you to get it off and play it. This model belies the price you pay because in my opinion it it a 400 to 500 pound guitar in all respects. It is delivered ‘mummified’ in bubble wrap to ensure safe passage and was delivered as promised. Can’t thank PMT enough for their advice. Great people to deal with. Need to get back to playing now.Mal H.
I wanted a small, inexpensive guitar that sounded good and played well. I pick up and play a guitar every night while I watch TV. The Takemine dreadnaught I was primarily using was carelessly broken and unremarkable. After reading about this AP70 and listening to Alvarez promotional and YouTube videos, I decided to buy this. It seemed like the thing to do, especially because of the low price and apparent sound quality; it seemed like the best value. It was on back order and wasn't supposed to ship until Feb 9, but I was pleasantly surprised when I received it on Feb 2. It was packed well and mostly in tune already. The construction quality is fantastic, and the sound was pretty good, but not as good as I expected. One of the other disappointments was that it wouldn't stay in tune and the intonation seemed off. After close inspection it seemed that there were not enough wraps of string around the tuners, the quality of the strings used were sub-par and more of a medium than a light gauge, making it difficult and frustrating to play. I immediately replaced the factory strings with Elixer bronze 80/20 nanoweb strings and that made all the difference in the sound, intonation, stability and playability. It's now an enjoyable instrument to play and a great value, in my opinion. The Deeski

Reviews:
I have a Trans Amber Quilt Top and it's not only beautiful, it is fun to play! I took it camping with a little Flamma FA05 amp that can run off a small sine wave inverter that I have. That was so much fun. I have 5 guitars on a Hercules rack but the Steinberger sits next to my office desk where I can just grab it and plink away. It is so small and compact it doesn't interfere with my work stuff and it doesn't bump into things. It sounds great through my Orange amp and Boss ME80 when I want to kick things up. The people who moan about setup and the like need to spend a little time and learn how to tweak the setup which on the Spirit is really EZ to do. And once you dial it in, it stays in tune and properly setup for a long time. Got a little fret edge? Use a fret file and take it down. Done deal in 10 seconds. I have never understood peeps that don't want to maintain their equipment from start to finish. Oh well. The pickups are fine for ordinary purposes. The single coil is a bit high and maybe low output which can be annoying but I learned to live with it. You can always take it out or replace it. The humbuckers are solid and reliable. No complaints. The whammy bar is cool and can be locked. It stays in remarkably good tune due to the double ball ends. The little leg rest is all metal and has never given me a problem. I did have to tighten the cable jack nut a couple of times but that wasn't difficult to do. The quilt top is really quite good. i wish there were more of it but then the guitar wouldn't have the qualities that I bought it for… namely size and convenience. All in all it's worth every penny of the $400 they are asking.
I got the hotrod yellow. How often do you see a yellow guitar? I also have a $1600 bass and this sounds just as good! I had to do a complete setup which is unusual, adjust the truss rod, saddles, pickup height. It plays and sounds amazing now. Downsides are, you have to buy an adaptor(if you can find one) to use regular strings of your choice. The strap extender which made the bass sit right and more playable cannot be found and is no longer made. Lastly you need to buy a special stand which is also hard to find cause it wont fit on a standard one. I managed to buy the adaptor and the stand from Reverb. As always American musical delivers excellent service and has made many purchases become a reality with the payment system! I no longer shop at music stores all my buisness is done here! The crafstmanship is better then you would expect for the price point. The fit and finnish seems great no sharp edges. The gigbag has a larger pocket and seems a little better quality then the one I got with my GT-Pro years ago. I would recommend a hardshell if you play out a lot with this.Scott G.
I bought this guitar because my back and shoulder have been hurting a lot recently, even with reasonably light guitars. I also tried the Strandberg Boden, but although it was lighter than this I could not justify the huge amount of money and didn't feel it was worth it. So I went with this, the original headless! (or version of) For the money, you can't fault it – I am very happy and play it all the time. So in many ways it deserves 5 stars. There are some bits I don't love though: The volume knob is so close to the strings I knock it a lot. If you are a very precise player this won't be an issue, but if you're going at it Cobain style you will. For the size, it could be lighter. It is still considerably lighter than a "normal" guitar though. The pickups are not great. However, I knew this going in, and with the guitar being so affordable and pickups being the easiest component to replace, this is what I plan on doing. The middle pickup is too close to the strings – I hit it a lot. Again, fixable. The neck profile gets weirdly thinner the closer you get to fret 1. I use this guitar for metal, so I don't mind, but I can't play chords on it, for that I need some girth! I want to end on a high, so here are the things I really like! General playability – it plays really well! A joy. Fretwork – top notch. Tremolo system – Why do more guitars not have the knob at the back to adjust the spring tension? It is fantastic. As is the quick way to lock it off. I've not had a floating trem in years because of the hassle, this is much better. Flip out leg rest – just what you need for seated playing. The look – Marmite for sure, but I love it. Retro yet futuristic.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.

Reviews:
After the initial COVID lockdown I landed a gig where I had to have a 5 string bass. So like a red blooded American I took my cash down to the local GC store to buy a fender 5 string American jazz. There wasn't any. I looked for an Ibenez. There wasn't any. I looked for anything and we'll there wasn't any. As the date grew near for our first show, I happened in and they had this one. I was disappointed that this was all there was, but out of desperation, I bought it thinking I would trade it once something I wanted became available. It took me about two months and 10 gigs later when I realized I love this thing. 9 months in and I don't know how many dates later, I wouldn't want to live without it. It plays awesome after a quick and minor setup on the action. The tone is big on the bottom and the mids and highs are as shapable as you want. It is a dream to play and guess what, when I finally got to put my hands on the fender I wanted, I didn't want it anymore. This bass is very much like the high end Ibenez basses. Probably too much for Ibenez's liking actually. I run through a 800w mark bass head with a 2×10 cab and a 1×15 cab. It sounds incredible. The big thing for me is when I run through my amp using the direct out in bypass, it sounds amazing. It is like having a sans amp in the bass. The electrics are that good. I have gotten tons of compliments on the tone and questions about how I got it. I literally just plugged it in. Also I can play it all night and even though it is a five, I am less fatigued then when I play the four fender American jazz I already own. The string spacing and scale I believe is responsible for that. If you are serious about playing a 5 string, at any level, then this bass is one you should look at. I am not super crazy about the esthetics but I get a surprising amount of complements on it. So if that is your thing then rock on I guess. I am getting over the fact that I was a fender snob. Also I believe Jackso is made by fender sooo….Chris
Love this Jackson bass. Finish is first class and blemish free. the satin finish of the neck really does give it a smooth easy playability. doesn't have the triangle fret markers or logo on pick ups like more expensive models…and only one screw holding the truss rod cover in place… but this is where savings are made and the price kept low I guess.. The hardware… bridge, saddles and tuning pegs are all solid high quality… i highly recommend this bass to beginners and pros alike… OK… the BUTs.. out of the box… this model must have been rushed through control… the action was so low that that there was fret buzz across the entire fret board. slight truss adjustment and raising of the saddles easily enough sorted that out though…. It plays beautifully now but i would'nt have expected to have to do a full set up. AND…I also ordered a mic stand… this brought my total order to over 200 euro. The website VERY clearly states that orders over 200 euro qualify for free postage to Ireland… but after ordering, I was mailed to inform me that as it is a guitar…. and therefore large, I would have to pay postage…this isn't mentioned anywhere on the Musicstore site… very annoying indeed. So.. great guitar… but might need a little setting up and beware of postage charges.
My one only bass for the past 20 years has been a Ibanez SR405 (2001 year model). I feel like I've purchased a big upgrade with this Jackson X Series Spectra. In comparison to the Ibanez, the Jackson's neck is fatter, lower fret sizes are slightly wider and the string spacing is slightly wider. The playability is a lot smoother for my larger fingers/hands. The pickups and active EQ systems are powerful. Need to have some amp/di box control to contain the powerful output when in smaller venues. I use the passive pickup control when in smaller venues and small churches. I feel that what sets this apart from other basses I've tried is how great it sounds to play the d and g strings as well as going above the 12th fret. The stock strings (D'Addario) sound really pretty when playing the higher octaves. The Elixir strings I'm currently using give the B string a BIG SMOOTH THUMP. For those worried about setup out of the box, I live in high altitude. Setup post manufacturer is usually a must because of that. I have been able to get fairly low action without fret buzz after casually messing with adjustments.Zach

The Deeski

Sounds as fantastic as it looks. Its an amazing guitar. Would recommend replacing the strings though.pecanctmichael
I am a working bassist and this bass first caught my eye it's a very cool looking instrument , then I plugged it in and with a little set to fit my playing I was sold , and frankly blown away at this little Ripper. Plays like Butter and has great tone , punch, sustain and independent volume control for each pick up instead of the standard pu mix control I really liked that feature you can really dial in your tone , and this bass is far from being a one trick pony , you could use this bass in most any situation just by simply dialing in the sound you you want for what ever style of music your playing. Can't say enough good things about this bass I'm just loving this bass.Boom Boom

Overall: Acoustic Basses are quiet when unplugged and this one is no exception. However, it is loud enough for practice in the living room and maybe with an acoustic guitarist playing softer. The tone unplugged is above average, very woody with some brightness.BUT this thing absolutely shines when plugged in. I was blown away at the crisp tones and ballsy lows I was hearing. I usually play a Fender 5-String American Standard Jazz so I’m used to lots of sizzle and growl. I am beyond happy to add this acoustic bass to my lineup. The Fishman Presys+ is amazing. You have so much control over your time and can almost get anything you want out of it. The notch and phase features are especially useful for maintaining clarity and tone at high volume and eliminating feedback and distortion. The fit and finish of this bass is exceptional at the price point. It’s like a piece of artwork and even more beautiful in person. Definitely gets bonus points for style.I’m giving this bass and bass alone 5 stars but I must also say this. If you get a case with it, pony up the cash for the hard shell. I got the gig bag and the quality is questionable. It arrived with a small tear and some frayed stitching. It will be adequate for protection for now but I may upgrade to the hard shell eventually. Also the stock tuning pegs aren’t the best but they work and have held tune fine so far, just feel cheap.Tyler
I am a worship director and songwriter. I use this bass in tracking things in my home studio and occasionally when gigging. It sounds fantastic, has good intonation, and is an absolute stunner to look at. I couldn't be happier. The box was a little beat up upon arrival, but the bass was packed well and I damaged in shipping.Zoo Station Studios
Overall: I've been playing music for over 50 years and when I first saw this instrument, just by the looks, I knew exactly what I was getting into! When I played this bass, It left me with a"smile that you can't buy"!! When I was able to say something, all I could say was Wow.I recommend this multi-facet , guitar to both pro and starter level musicians.I can guarantee that the new owners of these basses will be completely satisfied and will tell everyone about this wonderful stringed masterpiece.Andrew
9. Michael Kelly Custom Collection Element 5r Burl Electric Bass
Product Details:
The custom collection element 5r bass is an upgraded version of the standard custom collection bass guitars, featuring a roasted maple neck and head, pau ferro fretboard, and a striking buckeye burl top over the lightweight indonesian mahogany body. the body still has all the comfort features like the arm and belly cut you have come to expect from michael kelly. the impact of a bridge on the performance of a bass guitar is something that people too often underestimate. michael kelly uses a solid molded bridge with tight slots for each fully-adjustable saddle, a big enhancement on its own. under that bridge is an aluminum tone block, adding sustain and attack. since it is aluminum, it does not add weight to the bass, but has a similar sonic impact to using a heavy bridge. michael kelly calls this bridge-and-internal-block combination the mk stealth attack bridge system. in addition to the upgraded neck and stealth attack bridge system, this guitar includes an element active circuit electronics, utilizing a push/pull volume pot to switch from active to passive modes. michael kelly also added a pickup blend knob in place of the 3 way toggle switch, giving you loads more control over your tones. add to that separate bass and treble controls, and rockfield 5sw pickups that are specially voiced for the element basses, and you have a super comfortable, lightweight, highly playable and fully controlled tone monster.

Overall: I love the sound and playability of this wonderful instrument. My only complaint is with FedEx, they delivered a day late and at 10pm. they did not walk it up tp the door they left it in the middle of a driveway I share with a neighbor and left with no notification. I just happened to hear their door slam. I opened the front door as they left. I walked out to the driveway and stepped on the package because it was so dark. Fortunately the instrument was not damaged.Micheal

I told my wife of 46 years that I fell in love all over again…not only with her…but with my new Alvarez ABT60E! (BTW…I love living in the garage now! Just kidding! HA!) I was able to play one of these a few weeks ago and after playing, decided to purchase one of my own….one of the best purchases I have made in my 50+ years of performing, recording and of buying and playing guitars! SWEET, mellow sounds both acoustically and electric that can't be described! Love it in live performance and the studio! Thanks!Country Boy
Overall: I decided on the ABT60E after looking at every Baritone acoustic I could find. It seemed to have all the features I wanted and the price was very reasonable. I was concerned that the specs on the zZounds website were not the same as the Alvarez website, which showed some up-dated features on this model that I wanted. (LR Baggs Pickup, 1 3/4" nut). I placed the order and was approved for the "pay as you play" financing, which really helps ease the burden of buying a new instrument. The guitar arrived in two days! Everything on the guitar was perfect out of the box! I was relieved see it did have all of the up-dated features as shown on Alvarez's website. The build quality on the guitar is outstanding for a guitar in this price range! The gloss finish on the solid Sitka top is flawless, the satin finish on the B/S is a smooth as can be. The bound neck and fret work are super-smooth, and set-up is perfect, nice and low with no fret out's or buzz. Neck angle is perfect, and the neck is straight. Intonation is spot-on! As for tone, it is very full and rich with lot's of low-end and mids. The size of the guitar is a bit daunting at first, and the 27.5" scale neck along with 16-70 baritone strings take some getting used to for sure! The ONLY complaint I have with this guitar is that I hear some buzzing inside the guitar on some of the low note overtones. I can't quite place where they are coming from, but I suspect the electronics. This is annoying but doesn't affect the amplified sound at all, just when played acoustically. I'll have to take it to my luthier to fix if I can't solve it myself. zZounds did a great job on this order! This is my second purchase from zZounds, and I am sure there will be more. I also ordered the Gator Jumbo Hardshell case zZounds recommended and had it shipped in it. ( I never ship an acoustic guitar without being in a hard case). The Gator case is very nice, good, tight fit and seems well made. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend this ABT60E to anyone looking to add a little "depth" to their guitar bench for not a lot of money. I really had a hard time putting it down, it's a lot of fun to play! This guitar is a great value! Thanks zZounds!Mike
I've been playing guitar for almost 15 years and I was looking for something different. I read up on the Alvarez baritone and saw on many sites that users were more than impressed with it, so I waited patiently for my store to order a unit. I took it off the rack, dropped to one knee, positioned it on my leg and gave it a strum. I froze momentarily and then uttered : I'll take it. It literally is that good. My friend, a pro musician playing on a $4500 Taylor 600 series had exactly the same reaction after I strummed the guitar once. It has a super deep, rich sound, well manufactured – a real beauty. I read on several sites that this guitar was "perfect right out of the box". I have to say that once I tuned the strings on std baritone tuning it was … well, a little bit unplayable really. I suppose due to the very high string tension the neck was taking some heavy strain and I noticed that the saddle was pretty high as well. Taking this one for a decent setup is a must for sure. Also, the salesmen didn't really have any idea which case would go with this big boy, but luckily I read up that the Gator Jumbo case worked well, and sure enough it was a perfect fit. For the price this is a joke – it's worth much more.Kiepa

Reviews:
This was my first Jackson product purchase. I was absolutely impressed with the quality of the instrument at this price point. I have purchased other higher priced guitars that weren't as nice as this. I can definitely recommend and will probably be looking to purchase others.busmech70
The Kelly Bird looks drop dead gorgeous and sounds absolutely thunderous. It's tone and tone shaping ability is amazing. Clean, gritty with some OD, or even some weird solo synth preset you never use on your effects- all sound like you handed the bass to a pro. It has enough punch to scare the dog but also enough top end to play high. The neck is just wonderful. Sanded from the factory without that sticky shellac on cheaper instruments. The fretboard perfectly laid out and the frets properly rounded. The fit and finish is top notch stage quality level. Stock strings are pretty good and it came to me almost perfectly in tune. I love this guitar. From a tonal standpoint it scores top marks. But whoever designed the body has never even held a guitar. The neck dive is just ridiculous. I've had basses that dived before like Warlocks and Mockingbirds, but the Kelly blows them all away in the sheer speed and violence this neck plummets to Earth. It's only saving grace is that it is light so having to hold the thing up with your fretting hand is possible, but ungainly. But for the pick player- it's a challenge. I've seen Megadeth live and Dave Ellefson's bass doesn't dive when he lets go of it. Mine dives like someone yelled 'Incoming! I ended up shoving tire wheel weights in the electronics box until the bass was half again as heavy– and it still dives, just more slowly now. You'd have to add enough weight that the thing is uncomfortable to completely eliminate the dive. Next I am going to hang weight off the rear strap lock. It's silly that I should have to do all this just to make it stay put. I expect neck dive on these body shapes, but the Kelly takes it to another level. Sitting down is no better. The body slides to the outside of your knee, putting the nut somewhere in the next time zone from your body. It is like playing a Steinberger bass, despite those being small you have a long reach to the nut. As a functional guitar body, the Kelly Bird is terrible. Standing or sitting- it's badly shaped and badly balanced. But man, does it look great. Because it sounds so good, I can't give it anything but high marks for actual playing. But only after I have had to resort to frankly silly fixes to try to make it more playable in the first place. Hands down wins the gold medal for neck dive. Still a great bass sound, still love to play it, still think it's the best sounding bass I've ever had. Just have to accept it's faults like any lady you fall in love with.thesollylama

Let me start by saying I own basses at the lowest end of the spectrum and the highest. I love basses regardless of their price point and play them all. Some I like more than others obviously, but that is based on acoustics of the woods, balance, playability of the neck and the quality of the pick ups- not price. This bass in particular has all of the above. Its sounds good not even plugged in, but once you do plug it in, theres a wide variety of tonal options through a powerful active system. The truss adjustment wheel at the neck heel is a great feature, only seen on my higher end basses. The neck profile is not to fat, not too thin and sanded finish is super smooth and fast. This bass is a great value for the package and excellent build quality for an import.azgillman
This is a great bass! I was looking to a get a dave ellefson Jackson, wanting a 5 string p/j active fender and here it is. Not always normal, the action out of the box was good. Maple neck is great, very smooth to get around. Active electronics are top notch, many styles easily can be had on this instrument. ive recorded, done live gigs and church and this instrument would fit any. Great price point.Sasquatch
Unfortunately the bass was a display item, sent unchecked and damaged.Phil J.

14. Alvarez Aeb5 Purple
Product Details:
I fell in love with this as soon as i saw the color (and, let's be honest, relative rarity)…then it showed up to my door and my hands aren't big enough to comfortably play it. my hands are done growing, so my loss is your gain…it came to me with a ratty padded gig bag i'll include, and i'll throw in the coffin strap as well, along with rubber strap locks attached (it's a brand new strap). you get the chroma case hard case, gig bag it came in, strap, and this super cool bass (most people don't even know alvarez ever made electric basses).there is some light scuffing on the back and a few nicks on it, as you can see in the photos.i attempted to find a year this was made, or anything that could at least give me a sense of when it was made, and i found nothing.

I read so many reviews before I finally purchased that the original choice wasn't available in the color I want and I hesitated again and the bass I wanted wasn't available at all. I settled for this one and I dont feel like I settled at all. This is an awesome bass for how much it cost. There are minor inconsistencies like the pick ups weren't put in correctly and but still worked. Cosmetically the finish is awesome. Neck doesn't come finished but that's ok. That's not hard to do. I plan on putting better parts in it and that was kinda the plan all along and from the reviews I've read most people have that intention but right out the box it's awesome. I own 3 Ibanez bass guitars and this one is equally as cool.
I read other reviews finding complimentary comments before purchasing. Purchased and received in a timely manner. Took right out of packaging, tuned, and played. I was impressed with playability and even had a fellow bass player try and was also impressed. I am making some minor adjustments to suit my style. Great bass for price.
I own 10 other basses and , I was looking for a 5-string bass that was low-cost, playable, and had passive circuitry. This Glarry 5-string fit the bill perfectly! I bought this bass (and a 4-string fretless, burlywood P-bass style bass) for the exclusive purpose of leaving them at church to be played for the three services we have every Sunday. I'm always asking the sound crew for fresh 9 volt batteries for my basses (and Chourus) and I thought it would be nice to stop doing that (They don't mind) . Our lead soundman Mark Johnson (Candle Box, Red Hot Chili Peppers, too many others…) thinks the bass I bought from Glarry sounds great at the back of the house! (High praise from a guy who would know!) I'm not even using a processor, only a little Chourus. Even sound good online, as we stream our services as well.KUDO's to you guys!! Larry (Larreeex) Burks

17. Alvarez Villain 5-String Bass Natural Late 1990s
Product Details:
I have owned this bass for about 15 years. alvarez inexplicably chose to serialize these with cheap paper stickers, and mine fell off a long time ago, so it's impossible to verify production information. i have been able to gather that these basses were manufactured in south korea between 1995 and 1999, and feature an alder body and maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, dual split coil pickups at the neck and a single coil at the bridge. there are a few dings on the finish, but the bass is otherwise in great shape, sounds good and is very playable. she has served me well, but as my collection grows, it has become time for her to find a new home.buyers within reasonable distance of northeast ohio should contact me to arrange pickup. international buyers should contact me to get a shipping quote.
