Not crazy about their sound. First time I tried them. Too metallic and the strings Vibrate too long, disrupting a chords pure and rounded sound. The e string broke immediately as I was re stringing the guitar. Luckily i bought 2. But won’t purchase again. I miss a warmer, fuller sound. I had elixir 10’s before which were excellent. I will go again for 10’s or 11’s.Nina V.
I ordered 9 high string because my barre chords were causing me grief. These seem much louder than my recent strings (which may have become dull) I use my fingers mainly but a pick requires some restraint. They haven't settled in yet requiring retuning each day but may be due to the weather i.e heating coming on! For the price I've had less performance from much more expensive strings.grummanfly
I believe I already rated these once before but as I've been asked to do it again…ok. Not the usual kind of strings you would expect to be able to use on an acoustic guitar but worth trying. The only issue I had with these is that the G string would not intonate properly and I could not get that in tune for trying and so I bought a separate custom string to replace it. The measurement of the G in the set is .015 plain steel and I replaced this with a .017 wound string and this fixed the problem very easily. If, like me, you like a consistency of feel and sound I would recommend getting all the strings in custom strings. It's very easy to do. And there you have it… 🙂 Overall a nice set of strings but maybe just think about changing the G (.015) to a custom string (.017) wound string.Francis O.

Reviews:
Silk ans Steel strings seen to have less tension a smoother feel and sound mellow. I use them on my parlor guitar and they are plenty loud. I fell back in love with my parlor guitar after putting silk and steel strings on. I still use EXP17's on my dreadnought and different sizes on my electrics like heavy tops on my 335 and 10's on the tele and about to try 7's on my strat. I think guitars are all different and need strings that match the guitar and the style of your playing. I have no problem going from one gauge to another. Most of my practice is on the acoustic with the 13-56 tuned Eb, then when I pick up another guitar It seems to be faster and easier along with being more fun if that's possible. I love D'Addario strings sorry now spending so much money on trying other brands. I recommend trying D'Addario silk and steel on any folk/acoustic guitar first!Lewis
I'm no professional. I like to play around the house and I often do solo music in church. I tend to only play acoustic guitar because I love the sound. However, the 80/20's make me want to vomit both in sound and feel. These strings take anything you play and transform it into a smooth and beautiful piece of art. They feel wonderful, very soft but still very present. They sound so warm, but also articulate every sound. If the EJ40's ever get discontinued, I might just hang up my axe and stop chopping down tunes.JC_Broussard
I play finger style and bought the strings to cut down on or eliminate finger scraping noise; the packaging states "virtually no finger noise." The claim is not accurate. Whether with my fretting hand (left) or plucking hand (right), the strings are only slightly less noisy than any other round-wound strings I've ever played. The finger scrapes were louder than the finger scrape noise I'm still getting from D'Addario flat tops. I am replacing these strings with flat wound strings. The manufacturer's claim of "virtually no finger noise" was misleading and I wasted my time and money. I do not recommend these strings for fingerstyle play. For any other style of play, the strings are like any others and it is a matter of the tone you are looking for. These are mellow and easy to bend.

I loved speed, a good delivery! I'm building my own guitars and I would like to do a lot more business with you as long as the Price is Right. So far you have impressed me. Could you send me a catalog that would be great. What I mainly need is good hot pickups for both country and Rock dual coil and single coil and pickguards if you would happen to have any I'm building them in my own signature style of course, of course they are called Reed Guitars. I can get to Nick already made with fretz and truss rod for $14. But I would like to buy bodies that I can work with to give you an idea of what I looking for. Also need 3-way switches and a 5 way switch and of course potentiometers and knobs. Thank you very much. Until then you will need a friend George Reed.reedgeorge
I bought these strings today because my local store was sold out of my usual Elixir brand. I just put them on my old Gibson acoustic, and all of the ball ends are color-coded wrong, and the strings are turning my fingers black after 20 minutes of playing. They sound OK, but really? I used to be a big fan of D'addario strings for my electric guitars. These changed my mind.Page
I always get this brand of strings. They are the best! The strings are color coded for easy restringing. I usually purchase the ultra light bluegrass style and was happy to see that these are the same top notch quality. The ultra lights are a must if you want easy on the fingers. I can’t say enough good things, and you can’t wrong in buying these!Ginabug

D'addario EJ26 Phosphor Bronze guitar strings are very good. I have played this strings for years. D'addario is a very trusted brand among guitar players. They are always consistent great sound and playability. They are comfortable on the fingers and they last a good while. The longevity of strings all depends on how much and how often you play. Phosphor Bronze have a warm smooth tone. If you are looking for great sounding strings look no farther than D'addario EJ26 Phosphor Bronze strings.Travis
I have used various D'Addario strings since the early 80s. I was 'aware' of them in the 70s but I typically used Fender strings on electrics and Martin on acoustics. I have always maintained that D'Addario strings are cheap, plentiful, and get the job done. The argument could be made that there are better strings out there ("boutique" strings) but D'Addarios are available in any music store and they are consistently good. I think I only had one or two sets where the unwound strings were nasty…. they looked 'kinked' and didn't sound right. One or two sets out of how many hundreds of sets?? As to these particular strings, I have a 1947 Gibson L-5 and it just feels more 'right' with caveman strings. I'm not one of those 30s rhythm players that go runka chunka all day long, I play it like any other guitar, and it begs for heavy strings. D'Addario has them available….not everyone does, ya know. I'm happy with the company's products, across the board.ksdaddy
I bought these for a Little Martin, which was recommended to me as the best way to introduce Nashville tuning to my repertoire, as the smaller scale takes better to high-string tunings. Nashville tuning is sort of a studio trick most often used as a doubling of a standard guitar in order to achieve a 12-string or natural chorusing effect with less playing effort, more mixing possibilities, and no worries about having to down-tune to D to avoid neck or bridge issues due to the tension of most 12-strings (other than Guild models). There aren't many choices for pre-configured Nashville sets (many people put theirs together from individual strings), but this set seems the best balanced of what's available, and is especially designed to work well on short-scale guitars like the Little Martin series. I just wish they also made this in an 80/20 formulation, as I am starting to prefer how that metal combination blends with other instruments in the mix vs. the more modern phosphor bronze formulation. But one could always use 80/20 on the main guitar and get an even richer sound when blended with this phosphor bronze set.

Reviews:
I've used D'Addario strings for a few years now and they do a pretty good job. I do a fair bit of de-tuning of the strings for different songs, and they generally aren't prone to snapping when de-tuned (although after a while this does become a risk – I've learned to put on a new set before gigs). Throughout the covid pandemic I had the same set on for nearly 2 years straight, and they lasted the whole time despite being played fairly regularly. This triple set of strings represents very good value for money in my book.
I've tried all kinds of strings on my Martin guitars. Used coated strings for a while thinking it would be smoother on my fingers and stop the squeal as they slide on the strings.. but that's not cool !!! I'm totally on natural strings ., no boatings., I feel the string more .. I realized I want that !!! I don't get the screech as my ginger slide on the strings except fir when/if I want it . Yep !! I bought several 3 packs of these EJ16's. Great sound and you have !! Go gif it !!Chuck
I have an acoustic archtop guitar, and found a long time ago that phosphor-bronze strings produce the best tone for my playing style and the instrument I use. I've used a different brand for a long time, but I thought I would give these D'Addario a try. I'm glad I did. These strings produce a nice warm tone, and take a lot of punishment. I have a pretty aggressive rhythm style, and have snapped a lot of strings in my time and had to buy a lot of extra G-strings (it's always the G-string), but these D'Addarios hold up well. I'm very happy with them. and they are around half the price for a 3 set pack of the brand I was previously using, which is why I decided to give them a try.Noah
6. Elixir 16545 Acoustic Phosphor Bronze Nanoweb Guitar Strings Light 12-53 3-Pack
Product Details:
Not all guitar strings are created equal. even after just a few hours of play, dirt, sweat, skin oils and other debris will build up between the string's windings, causing corrosion in the metal. the result is a noticeable "deadening" of the string's tonal quality, which can happen very quickly with uncoated strings. elixir phosphor bronze strings begin with anti-rust plated plain steel strings that are corrosion resistant. they provide a clean feel and bright, vibrant tone. both the steel core and its phosphor bronze winding are then treated with elixir's patented nanoweb thin polymer coating that completely envelops the entire string. this results in a long-lasting, rich tone with more audible high-frequency harmonics. the ultra-thin nanoweb gives you the natural feel of untreated strings without sacrificing that important protection. this revolutionary product is a great value, as it means a dynamic and lively sound with less frequent string changes and fewer string purchases.

Reviews:
These are outstanding strings. For many years I held off using them because of the relatively high price. I had read and heard the general narrative about how much better they felt and how much longer they lasted than conventional strings. I recently purchased a nice mahogany Taylor and it had a factory set of Elixirs on the guitar. Anyway, tired of the "grungy," tacky feel that my strings would often have after only one gig, I tried the Elixirs. I'm now an Elixir convert. They feel terrific, even after 3 or four gigs. Musician's Friend is a great place to buy these. Fast, free shipping and a really easy, no-brainer purchase now that I understand what all the fuss is about. Buy these and you'll not regret it.Billy The Kid
When you play guitar outside, your strings decay pretty quickly, unless you've got coated strings for protection. The coating on most coated strings get frayed and buzzy too quickly. A set of Elixirs will last three or four weeks of daily outdoor playing, and virtually never break. I can't imagine how long they'd last if I only played indoors!whowhatwhywhenwherehow
These are a bit pricy, but if you can afford them, I recommend them. To me, the advantages are 1) they last longer before the intonation goes sour and the treble starts to decay 2) they are quieter, meaning less string/finger squeak 3) they seem extremely uniform and predictable. No hot, dull or buzzy strings out of the box, or bad ball end wraps, which I've experienced using other brands.55music

Product Details:
Dr multicolor neon strings are super bright color coated strings that sound clear, bright and natural. players are falling in love with the bright neon colors and their remarkable sound. super bright in daylight and under stage lighting, dr's neon's are 100% black light active, glow strongly under uv lighting, and even look great under natural lighting. neons are the first coated string to make no apologies. while neons last as long as a coated string should (three to four times as long as uncoated strings, according to dr strings) they sound as good, or better, than uncoated strings. multicolor neons look great, are great for learning, and gamers will love them!
Specifications:
Reviews:
I've tried DR strings with the recommendation of others and found them to be my absolute favorite for my old Yamaha acoustic. The Black Beauties, which these replaced, played great but had premature coating wear. I like the feel of them, especially on pull offs, where the strings stay put until you say go. The Neons are coated much better and everyone wows them and wants to know if they are real (or plastic). I like them a lot, they have that good feel and less finger pain, but the rainbow effect may wear off in months to come. Then I'll get another set of DR Black Beauties.Gregg
The strings feel weird that's all I can say about it. But it just could be me I wouldn't buy them again.dj4tuna

I've been a D'addario guy for a long time, and use them on all my guitars. I like the phosphor bronze tone on my acoustics, and use the extra lights because I have hand and finger joint issues. Actually 10s are pretty heavy for me, I use 8s on my electrics. Anyway, they sound great, are easy to play and have always been reliable for me.James
For years I refused to replace one of the low E machines on my Guild 12-string, as much on principle as anything else. I could only find a full set when I only needed one. The folks at Sam Ash knew my feeling and enthusiastically referred me back to the shop. Not only did I get a single machine, the price was more than right. Now I will be going back there not so much for their merchandise as for the people. That's where they put their investment.Mediaman.2
A friend of mine put light gauge electric strings on his acoustic guitar so it would be easier to play. I did like the feel but the sound was too thin so when I came across the Extra Light D'Addario's for acoustics I was excited to try them. My preferred style of playing an acoustic has recently become almost all finger-picking without finger picks. I tried them on my vintage classic dreadnought Yamaha F335ii and they sound good with a little less low end and a little more thin high end which you would expect. Also there is a tendency for the little E string to rattle as I use an upward stroke with the index or middle finger to play it. I will try switching that string out with a little higher gauge to alleviate that problem. Your style (light or heavy) of playing may determine whether these strings are right for you. They are great for strumming light rhythm with a balanced bright sound using a Fender thin pick so I would definitely use them for recording rhythm parts. For recording finger-picked parts I will continue using regular light gauge strings on a Martin. The D'Addario extra lights are easy on the fingers and good for practicing any style. They would also be a good choice for beginnersdhughe1

Reviews:
I really like these guitar strings. They are thin and flexible yet produce a nice sustaining sound. Not too bright but not at all thuddy. A nice full sound for lightweight strings. Easy on the fingers, especially if I haven't been playing much for a week or two. They bend easily enough for the sound effect while not so bendable as to play out of tune if no bend is intended. THe sealed packaging they come in assures a nice untarnished surface thus a nice crisp sound, tempered slightly by the phosphor bronze finish which means a shorter break in period and a longer lasting clear tone. All in all these are the strings of choice for my Guild D-50 guitar. They are a perfect match. I have tried many different brands and versions of guitat strings over the years and I keep coming back to these D'Addario phospher bronze strings for the right sound and the longest life. They seem to last about twice as long as the other brands and don't require a long break in period like some do. I try to keep an extra set on hand since to sealed packaging keeps them fresh new sounding indeffinately.Softouch
These are different. Forget the corrosion resistivity for a minute. First and foremost: they just sound great! Tried them on an all mohogany acoustic electric guitar – pleasing, sweet tone- amplified or not. They feel wonderful, sensitive to nuances of touch. Unlike any of the coated strings I've tried- those always just felt and played like something was, you know; BETWEEN you and the guitar! It was annoying, distracting- unnatural. These strings have none of those characteristics. I have not had them long enough to comment on longevity, but will review again when I've had more time with them. Plan to try an electric set next for one of my other guitars. Well done, D'addario!Strum Bum
They are crisp and bright compared to other styles. My only critique is they don’t give you much to work with so not good for beginners. Otherwise I like them a lot. They're a little short but not enough that you can't use them. It's just means you can't mess up putting them on. I tried to add a video clip so you could hear the quality but for whatever reason I couldn't so you will just have to take my word for it. The sound they make is great.Candy

I average about one or two solo gigs a week. I've used D'Addario EJ16-12 Lights strings for a couple years, changing them once a month or so. Love the tone, and the price is reasonable. That's great, but as another user mentioned, the G-string (.024 wound) is more prone to breakage. I'll break a string maybe two or three times a year, and it is usually the G-string that breaks. So, since I just bought another set of 12 6-packs of these, I also ordered a pack of a dozen single .024 Rogue phosphor-bronze strings, to keep handy as spares so I won't have to open a whole set of D'Addarios when the G breaks. If the G is still prone to break, then by the time I get through what I've bought I may have to try another brand.Charlie the Tuner
These are my go-to string for acoustic because they have a bright high end and still have a warm balance. Fresh strings always sound best, and these last as long as or longer than most non-coated strings. Whenever I don't have an unusual requirement, these are the strings I turn to.Vin Weasel

Conficting information !!!! The text on the web page indicates that the package consistd of two sets of NB1253, and 1 set of EJ16. It turns out that the photo on the web page shows 2 sets of NB1356 and 1 set of EJ16. What I received matched the photo – NB1356's , NOT the 1253's that the description promised.Gary T.

I have used D'addarrio string for many years Long lasting Excellent quality Clear sound Great value Totally recommend.elea2511
I've heard that string manufacturers re-labeled string gauges. What was once light is now extra light. If you've got an older guitar, and you're worried about tension on the neck, bridge, and top, buy a set that's a notch lighter than what you'd been using years and years ago. Extra lights are plenty loud enough unless you're a gorilla. In that case, see if you can find some Mapes heavy gauge. They'll yank the face off your guitar, but you'll satisfy your need to be a genuine irritant until they do.jdeitch11
For years DAddario strings have been my go to. They are the right combination of performance and price.laryfriend

SO I put them on my 45 yr old acoustic guitar and they are brighter than bronze – they sound amazing with fingers or using a slide. They are very clear, project well, sound great. They have lots of punch too – they sound great for all types of music from rock & roll to blues. I definitely recommend these strings. The strings look a lot nicer than the old strings I had on my acoustic guitar!Lauderbabe
This review is about D'addario guitar strings. The guitar strings included in this package are extra light gauge .010 – .047. This product contains three sets of guitar strings, each set consists of six strings. This product is specifically for acoustic guitars. The D'Addario guitar strings are advertised as having a corrosion barrier sleeve. Each set of strings is individually wrapped. This is an amazing product. I do not know how to play the guitar but we have a guitar that had old worn strings on it and the D'Addario acoustic guitar strings changed the overall appearance of the guitar, and even made my guitar playing sound good (to me). Replacing our old guitar strings with this brand was a necessary choice. With these acoustic guitar strings, the life of this guitar has been extended tremendously. The sound that comes from the instrument is more soothing now, than it used to be. The D'Addario guitar strings took a little time replace, but the process was fairly easy. I am excited that three sets of guitar strings came in this package because I am truly a beginner when it comes to the guitar, but now that the new strings have been installed, I am excited to play. I recommend this product, and the craftsmanship is superb.Missourian
Although more expensive than your average strings, because of their longevity, they represent great value for money. Tonally excellent – bright, focused, rich, resonant bass, sparkling treble, and all points in between. Also surprisingly smooth under fretting fingers. Now I can bring my guitar to all the best parties in town, Women love me. Men admire me. It's a win win situation every time. Seriously good stringspaulguitar09

I put a set on my beloved Taylor 324 and they sound and feel great. I liked them so much I decided to put them on my 12 string Taylor 254. The guitar is just three months old the Elixir strings were fresh but I changed them anyway and the sound and feel are both improved . I've tried EXP's in the past but preferred the Elixirs the XT strings are game changersMarc

I pretty much exclusively use D'Addario strings at this point, best balance of value, durability and tone. These ones I bought for a 6 string Epi I was setting up, rich lows and bright highs, perfect for lower tuning, open tuning or full chord rhythm playing. A blind test would put that Epi at a much higher price point then what they go for, simply by a set up and these D'ddario strings.KENNY
I have been using D'Addario 12-53 phosphor bronze acoustic guitar strings in the recent past and decided to go to the next thicker gauge being Med 13-56. As with the electric guitar strings the fatter and heavier gauge strings sound unreal. I fitted these heavier gauge strings to my 3/4 Artist acoustic / electric guitar and was way pleased with the full bodied rich strong tone. I did find the strings a lot harder to fret at first for chords and notes but with a little discipline and much more practice my finger strength will get better. I t will be way worth it in the end. I have always been a fan of D'Addario Acoustic Guitar strings and can thoroughly recommend them.

Reviews:
Definitely the best strings at the price point lately. They have a thinner or smoother wind than Ernie Ball slinkys or Daddarrio exl and this results in less finger noise and a zingier tone IMO. I'm into clean and classic rock, and I doubt you would like these over the former two names if you were into more modern and metal sounds. It depends on the guitar for me, on my strat I could use just about any strings. My guitars with humbuckers seem more picky, at least to my ears. I prefer these over the other two as far as cheap strings go, and these are often cheaper. Win win. Used to be I would never have preferred Fender strings so either my tastes are changing or these strings have changed over the years.Joelish
Overall: Don't pay any attention to the low price these are great strings. Have used Fender 7250's on all kinds of bass guitars they always sound great and feel good. Years of use have proved quality. I put them on my Jazz bass, my PJ, and my Squire, have used them on Samick, Music man, OLP, and Epiphone basses, all good.Scott
According to a Fender rep, these are what came on the Fender PJ bass I ordered from Musician's Friend. They produce the classic Fender tone I wanted. I eventually replaced them with a set of Fender 7250L (.040, .060, .080, .100) to make it easier to play on the guitar's 9.5" fingerboard radius. I stayed with Fender because of the tone that the 7250M strings produce. The Light's have slightly less oomph on the low end, yet all the tone while the lighter gauge makes for nice melodic work on the high end of things. If you have a Fender bass and want Fender tone…Vice

Reviews:
Tried these Flex Core Strings on my L-00. No huge difference with the regular M540 strings I usually use on my acoustics. These FX strings are slightly more flexible which is most noticeable when pushing and pulling but I experience no profit while fretting (bar) chords. At this point the new FX set has not been played in, but they tend to sound slightly less bright than a regular new M540 set. Cannot say yet how this will develop once played in thoroughly but I hope they will keep this brightness all the way.
