Reviews:
I have had this guitar in my sights for a while. I asked for notification for when it was in stock and the when I received that I ordered it right away. It was very late on a Sunday evening so I did not call my sales engineer Charlie Davis I just used my Sweetwater card and bought it. Charlie had the whole thing processed early Monday morning and I got it Wednesday. This is a beautiful guitar to look at, the satin finish and charcoal burl on the top are especially pleasing. The tones you can get from this instrument are great either clean or with overdrive and distortion. Being a child of the 60's I lean more towards Grateful Dead ,Allmans, Little Feat so I play without a lot of effects but it sounds as good playing jams and blues as well as ballads by the Dead or anyone else from the era I grew up with. This is my second Schecter, if you see this back in stock and you don't want to spend $2000 on an electric guitar I would go for it. It came set up to play and that is all I have been doing for the last few weeks.
I've got 3 Schecters if that tells you anything. I have an Apocalypse and a Silver mountain. I bought this for my lady. It's got a slightly thinner neck than the regular "Thin C", it's thinner but not narrower. It came "ready to play"…but to make it even better required a very slight neck adjustment, a couple of the saddles raised…and most importantly for me…the pickups WAY too close and it made it sound "busy" to me…too much going on…chaos. I lowered them to 1/16 treble and 1/8 bass…and they've really improved…I can hear individual notes in the chords where before it was a noisy mess. To the other reviewer wanting to change pickups…try lowering or raising them and see if it improves. This isn't a $1000+ guitar and it shows in the little details…the carve of the body…rounding the neck/frets…the finish…it's not up to the Apocalypse or Silver mountain…but it's a FINE guitar.Joe Rocker
Overall: I wanted to wait a while before I reviewed this instrument just to make sure the new guitar bias wore off first. The first thing I wanna say about this guitar is the tuning stability is crazy good, and I'm sure that's because of the black tusq nut. This guitar stays in tune better than some of the more expensive guitars I own and that really surprised me a lot. The tuners feel sturdy and the bridge is very easy to set up. The neck is super thin, and access to the higher frets is superb. I also really like how the inlays are done on this guitar. As I'm getting older it's harder for me to see where I'm at and having the inlays switch to the bottom of the fretboard after the 12th is super nice. I will say though that while I love the neck, it was also one of the only parts of the guitar that required some work on my part. Out of the box, I did have to level the frets a tiny bit to get the strings as low as I like them to be. It's a minor complaint since I like my strings VERY low, but it is worth mentioning especially since this guitar is around the price-point where these kinds of issues shouldn't be as expected. I'm not gonna cover too much on the sound of this guitar because you can make any guitar sound good with enough processing, but I'd say that the pickups in this guitar sound perfectly fine on their own and I have no plans of changing them out. The tone of the bridge pickup is beefier than you'd expect which you may or may not like. The neck pickup is honestly my favorite, it's very warm sounding and has none of that harsh sharpness that I personally can't stand. Overall the pickups are just comfortable to listen to, which makes them perfect for mixing. To top it all off, it's a very pretty-looking guitar. I got the Sky Burst one and I find myself still looking at it and admiring it. With ALL of that said though, I would say that this guitar best suits someone who is intermediate, but at the same time I think that more advanced players will love the playability if they're willing to put in some minor effort to take the guitar a bit further.Patty

Reviews:
I preordered this guitar but I received a used guitar. The new Schecter guitar actually came inside a Dean guitars box and it was bubble wrapped inside. There were no Schecter guitar box or anything for a new guitar. The guitar didn't have any stickers or labels or plastic that you normally get buying a new guitar. A new schecter guitar normally has a sticker on one of the tone controller and plastics on the pickups. Mine didn't had any. It had scratches on the body and the head stock was completely dirty and on top of that the neck pickup was elevated from one side and not screwed in properly. The same issue was on the bridge pick up as well. If this was a minor issue I could have fixed it and kept the guitar. But I decided to return it immediately. Seems like I received a vendor item or display item but guitar center can clarify this issue. This the second guitar I bought from GC that had major issues out of the box. I let go of the first one but I will not keep doing this. I paid for a new guitar and I should receive a new guitar with everything in working order. As a customer this is not my job to buy a product receive it and than verify to see if I actually received a new product or a used one. For any new buyers please check this before anything else if you bought a new guitar.Mo A
Its a great looking guitar, super clean. Feels great. Plays amazing, im really liking the active emg pick ups. Not too heavy either.joeroche2013

3. Schecter C-7 Multiscale Mountain Electric Guitar Silver
Product Details:
Like most of schecter's electric guitars, the c-7 multiscale silver mountain model is built for modern musicians seeking powerful tones, comfortable playability, killer aesthetics and an extended range. fitted with a pair of schecter usa sonic seducer humbuckers, these potent pickups can handle copious amounts of gain without breaking a sweat. but they're not one-trick ponies, as these humbuckers clean up beautifully via the push/pull tone control which can split their coils. other highlights include schecter-branded locking tuners, a reliable graphite nut and a smoothly-machined hipshot hardtail bridge, which all ensure excellent tuning stability. the biggest feature of this guitar is its multi-scale design, with ergonomic 'fanned' frets that follow the shape of the hand more naturally; improving playability. the biggest advantage of a multi-scale neck, especially on an extended range guitar like the c-7, is that the string tension will be higher on the low strings to give you a fast picking response with practically no flabbiness. intonation is also vastly benefited, with notes sounding more in-tune across the fingerboard.

Reviews:
Overall: Picked this up from zZounds, recently…and I am totally thrilled and impressed. I am a reformed PRS fanboy…and now believe Schecter matches PRS in every category, and surpasses PRS in value for the money spent. My Toxic Venom C-1 Silver Mountain guitar exhibits: Exceptional build quality. Amazing tonal diversity. Stunning visual appeal. Fit and finish are as perfect as can be. Without a doubt, the most comfortable electric I've ever put my hands on. This guitar has it all.And received within 48 hours of purchase. I couldn't be any more satisfied.
I've had this guitar for roughly 6 months, and I am absolutely blown away by it The locking but hold your strings in tune, for what feels like forever. And if they get out of tune, just use the bridge tuners. I am very pleased with the tone that both the bridge and neck pickups produce, I've never used an active pickup before. But this being my first, I am impressed. The 26.5" scale length is nice, it allows for some lower tunings while keeping the rich and dark tone. With the oem strings, I don't recommend tuning any lower than drop G, I've been experimenting in GCGCFAD, and I've ordered a little heavier strings (2-4 gauges thicker). It is pretty expensive, but the craftsmanship is extraordinary. If you're looking for a beautiful 7-string, with a floyd rose, then this is for youSmartAlec
Playable out of the box…but a slight neck tweaking, raising a few of the saddles, intonating the low E, and lowering the pickups made it VERY nice/playable. The neck it slightly thicker than my "thin" C Apocalypse neck…probably the paint. Out of the box it was OK but had a few slight buzzes and sounded "busy"…too much distortion going on…no definition, no individual note clarity with chords. Now…it's a beauty. Good sustain on all strings…all frets. It sounds "clearer" even when heavily distorted. It's worth the price. I have 3 Schecters now…I bought a Reaper for my lady.Joe Rocker

Reviews:
I use this product with a boss gt ran through a mesa boogie and it sounds i credible. The playability is also the best ive ever played, it plays itselfBringerofblood
Never do these but since they don't have a picture of what the pink looks like, submitting mine. I love it and wanted it a year ago. Now it's not on the Legator page so thankfully musicians friend had one in stock.Pink
Mine just arrived today and it is absolutely flawless. Legator has unfortunately had a tainted reputation from their earlier runs, which I understand to some degree. I already had a Performance 7 with a single fret issue and the nut wasn't cut right, paint coating and logo faded…but is comfortable even still. But this G8FP is on another level. Zero fret buzz, zero blemishes, and incredible craftsmanship across the board. I'd definitely buy again, and highly recommend this if you are considering one. The longer scale on this makes the fanned frets feel more natural to me, as even though I love my fanned 7's ergonomics, it always takes me a few mins to readjust when going back to my regular fretted guitars. Not with this one. Easily the favorite of my 8 guitars. The Hive pickups aren't my favorite ever, but are totally useable with some tone tweaking…they have defined clarity in the higher range, but it's hard to compete with my Fishmans when it comes to that in the low end. No complaints whatsoever!Rob C

Reviews:
Overall: I read some of these negative reviews and can't understand what they're talking about. This guitar is probably the best guitar for $200 I ever played , right out of the box it was setup perfectly. All I did was tune it , I've even got the same strings it came with. Which I normally change whenever I get a new guitar. The tuners are unbelievably tight , this guitar barely goes out of tune even if it has been sitting for weeks. Also I never attached the whammy bar , so I can't speak on that throwing it out of tune. Since I have over a dozen guitars I don't usually play it daily , but when I do it always makes me glad I purchased it. This is a very versatile guitar , I play mostly metal and this thing shreds. But I also play blues and it sounds just as good as my custom strat. I bought an Epiphone SG special in the same price range and let's just say the setup is night and day , the tuners absolutely sucked , "already replaced them" and the intonation was off. It was a mess , I've already put it on Craig's list and bought a G400 Pro instead , 10x better quality and setup , but I digress. I've got many high priced guitars but always go back to the GRX , the playability and neck feels so comfortable to play. The only thing I'm going to do eventually is throw in a Seymour Duncan humbucker and I'm definitely keeping this guitar. I don't know how Ibanez can sell this for $200 and keep the quality , but I'm certainly not going to complain. Whether you're a beginner or experienced this guitar delivers. Definitely will be purchasing another Ibanez down the road.Mike
I read a lot of reviews on this guitar before purchasing. Most common complaints revolved around tuning stability. I was expecting mine to go out of tune every 2 minutes. Not my experience at all. It seems to be strung with 10's, and holds tuning very well. Pick ups sound warm and tight. When I eventually upgrade I'll probably do the nut and tuners, but those are by no means urgent. There are so minor finish flaws, but i bought this guitar to play, not to stare at it. For less than £200, you really can't go wrong. Delivery was on time and without hassle.Ben A.
Sound: Does not have the cleanest sound due to the picks. Putting the right pedals and effects in line and cranking up the distortion makes it an awesome beginner / intermediate metal guitar. Features: For the price the materials feel great. Ease of Use: It sounds great on my Fender Champion 20 or Positive Grid Spark amp. Not the cleanest tone but a great metal sound and extremely easy to play. Quality: It feels made well, especially in the $200 range. I feel like this is one I'll have for years and once I get better definitely see this is a good platform for future mods. Value: This guitar is excellent value and at this price an amazing guitar. Manufacturer Support: I have not dealt with Ibanez. The Wow Factor: I must admit the aesthetic. It's extremely hard to find good looking purple color-based guitars. If I could dream up what I want a guitar to look like this is it. It helps that its quality is awesome. Overall: I love this guitar. Purple is my favorite color and a hard one to find good guitars in. It looks great. It feels great and I have yet to find any significant issues with it. No problems with the frets or fret buzz. Action is easy and low. It sounds great with my Positive Grid Spark amp. The pickups sound great. The HSH setup is very versatile. Not the greatest with clean tones like my Stratocaster, but amazing with the right effects.Josh

Reviews:
Hello Ola, I am thrilled with my new Boden Original NX-8. Combined with my Fusion NX-6, I have excellent, hand & wrist friendly, very high quality guitars. I am using a Mono Y-Cable with the NX-8 so that guitar oriented pedals and amp are used for "guitar", while bass i sent to bass-supportive pedals and amp. Really takes better advantage of the 8 string features. My only regret is that I am challenged in trying to add my Roland GK-3 pickup to either Strandberg for use with my GR-55. The very ergonomic, minimalist bodies leave little room for attaching the synth hex pickup. But, still trying since I have been a Roland guitar synth player for many years. Oh well, challenges make life more interesting, right? Thank You and Take Care, David SlowikDavid S.
strandberg asked me to review this product, and I replied that I was not pleased and that they probably did not want my review. Then… they asked me again. First, the positives. This ax is exactly what it says it is. It's compact, ergonomic, light and full of innovations. The fanned frets are just like everyone says.. you don't even notice. The same for the asymmetrical neck. The 3 way switch and controls give you a broad pallet of sounds, just like everyone says. The problem is that it felt, to me, that I was not playing a musical instrument. It didn't respond like an instrument. It felt like a piece of electronic equipment. The tones, while varied, never struck me as particularly musical. I suppose if you are depending on pedals to shape your sound, that's not a limitation. In that case the guitar is just a device for generating a signal. But that's not how I play. It didn't work for me. Remember… I TOLD strandberg all this, and they still asked for the review. My guess is that their algorithm simply registered that I hadn't submitted a review, so they asked me again. But that's it in a nutshell, isn't it? All machine. No soul.John S.
I've been eyeballing the Masvidalien Cosmo pretty much since it was released – I was hesitant to pull the trigger for two silly reasons: 1) I was stuck in this misguided notion that I needed an extended range guitar to play modern metal and 2) I was afraid that the high variability of the burled maple tops could somehow result in me receiving an ugly guitar. Like I said, silly. I started considering the artists I love who do mostly play 6 stringed guitars and decided that was a bad reason to hold back (look at Joe Haley of Psycroptic, or of course the man himself – Paul Masvidal of Cynic!) so after over a year I finally ordered my Cosmo. I was not disappointed! It's light as feather. Fretwork is immaculate. The EMG 57 sounds great, and that VMC control does really allow you to shape the sound (admittedly I need more time to play around with this). The burled maple top is exactly what I was hoping for. I don't see any tool marks, any hiccups in the paint, etc – in short, the guitar arrived flawless. I own one other guitar – a black Boden Original 8. Again, it's silly but I was concerned that I would have a hard time dropping down two strings. Like my fingers wouldn't know where to go. This wasn't the case at all. The slight 6-string multiscale feels just right and the EndurNeck is surprisingly effective (I figured it would play less of a role than on my 8 string since the 6 string neck is so much thinner, but I don't think that's the case at all). It probably sounds like I'm heaping too much praise on this instrument – that I'm being blindly positive. Maybe that's true. But it far exceeded my expectations, I haven't found a thing wrong with it, and I haven't been able to put it down since it arrived. Paul Masvidal and Ola Strandberg cooked up something truly awesome, and I feel very fortunate to be able to own a Cosmo. Highly recommended.Grim

Reviews:
I just got one of these for ~$200 off for being 'open box'. I think someone returned it due to some very minor cosmetic QC issues. The tone knob was a little high, the fretboard was bone dry and looked like they dripped some oil on it but forgot to rub it in, and the finish was a little rough in a couple spots where it meets the binding. So I dropped the knob down, oiled the fretboard, and buffed out the rough edges. Took about 30 minutes. Not even worth taking a star off in my opinion. Now for the thing that matters most, what you're really paying for here: the fretwork. It's fantastic, and stainless steel means it will stay that way. The fret ends were filed and beveled nicely and the neck binding is doing it's job. They aren't boutique shop hemispherical fret ends, but they're very nicely done. Nice and even, well crowned and polished, no sharp spots anywhere. I checked every fret between every string with a fret rocker. There are a couple of frets and a few spots on some frets where I can get it to 'rock' slightly, but it's almost imperceptible. Not enough to noticeably affect action, not really worth spot leveling. This is about as good as it gets on any mass produced guitar made anywhere at any price. Action out of the factory was higher than necessary as expected, but after putting on some slightly heavier strings and adding some relief I was able to drop the action down to ~2/64th of an inch or 0.75mm on both the 1st and 7th strings at the 12th fret. That's absurdly low for a mass produced guitar. I can make some buzz if I try, but not even enough to hear through an amp, and not at all when I'm playing normally. The rest? Locking tuners, fluence moderns, stainless frets; you already know what these are. They all work as expected. Bends are very smooth. The satin neck feels great. Palm muting is extremely easy and comfortable thanks to the flat, angled bridge. Tone is great, plays great. Fantastic for the priceguitaranon
Overall: At first glance this was a great guitar. Love flame tops, and the neck woods are great. But I think the combo of tone woods was a bit too much. There is NO, ZERO, low end to this guitar. I say that with a caveat of comparing it to other guitars. It could just be the particular one I have, but there is lack of warmth in it. Mids are present, and the Fishmans clear up and tighten them, but again no lows. I have to crank the resonance control on my Invective head to get any sorta bump, and doing fast alternate picking on the low string just sounds like scraping the pick on the strings. "Oh it's just your technique dude". If I'm saying that, clearly I've looked into it. So again maybe just the one I have, but I couldn't gel with it.
Thanks to AJ Becarra for the top notch service and hospitality. This is top quality folks!!! I received my Schecter C-1 FR S Evil Twin and was blown away with the quality of Schecter guitars. The slim but long scale neck makes this guitar so easy to play and reach the upper octaves. The sustainiac pickup will scream at very faint volume. Freaking nice!!! I had no idea what I was missing out on. This is now my main guitar out of 44 customs. You can do so much with this guitar. Gotta getcha' one!!!

Reviews:
Overall: This guitar plays great, feels great, looks great and sounds great, but a word of warning. If you're a metalhead and your intention is to slap some big strings on it and play in F#, you're gonna be disappointed. I play in Drop A on a seven string, which is just standard tuning with the B string dropped to A. Well, A is too low on the the low string on this guitar. It gets all wobbly and slappy, and increasing string size didn't make a difference. I went from the 10-59 that it comes with to 11-64 and it made little to no difference in the string tension. This is possibly because of the 25.5 scale length, which is a little short for a seven string. If you're getting this guitar for other genres, cool, it's a great guitar, but don't get it if your plan is to play metal.
Chitarra veramente eccezionale. Molto leggera, comoda nelle dimensioni e curata nei dettagli. Suono cristallino ma versatile, uno strumento che lascia veramente a bocca aperta. Provare per credere. Spedizione e imballo impeccabile. Tutto perfetto!
This is a nice looking guitar, very playable, the sloped frets are a definite plus at the body end of the neck. Surprisingly light and comfortable to play. It has a great range of tones via the 5-way selector and switch. The tail-end tuners are really smooth.Rob C.

Overall: Pretty mad at myself I didn't get a chance to return.Bought this guitar a year ago in the middle of a move so I didn't really play it for a few weeks. The "Nazgul/Sentient" pick ups seem like they're dead. I've played other guitars with the same combo and these sound nothing like it. It sounds like the string vibrations struggle to be picked up by them which results in a super weak sound. The guitar itself looks beautiful but sounds like mud.
I've used it got shows, recording, and practicing! Holds up really well and the tone is incredible.Peter
Parádní kytara, mám jí teď asi 14 dní a má užasnej zvuk! Skoro nic neváží a je dost komfortní i na delší hraní.Martin

Reviews:
First off, the pictures online don't do this thing justice. I picked up the Amethyst and this thing is Gorgeous with a capital G. Overall, as for modern guitars targeted towards progressive metal players, you can not ask for a more well equipped or well made guitar. Personally, the dimensions are fantastic. This guitar is smooth an easy to play to the point that it will probably make a noticeable improvement in your playing. The craftmanship is great and it comes well equipped. This is well worth the money. If you're on the fence about this, dont be. Just go ahead and make the room on your guitar rack for this work of art.Gabriel
I'd been looking at this guitar for a while and I finally placed the order. I couldn't be happier with it! The neck shape is what sold me on Legator guitars a few years ago. The neck is thin, has rounded edges, and the 14" radius is very comfortable. The Fishman Fluence Modern pickups work really well for this guitar as well.Brett

Reviews:
Guitar is amazing, I’ve owned many Jackson king v’s over the year and this one is right up there. Only thing is it had a small crack in the headstock binding. The pickup screws weren’t even tight. After going through the guitar, it’s awesome but Jackson’s overseas quality control department obviously doesn’t check their stuff. Also I American musical didn’t check the guitar either. I would recommend it it’s amazing but for the price it should be a little more quality.Joshuabfxd
Ready to play straight out of the box. Perfectly setup, the blackouts are killer, and as always Jackson King Ava never let me down. They are the only guitars I play. This 7 string in particular is outstanding.
This is my first 7th string this instrument is awesome. The neck is small and the active pickups sound excellent. The strap lock system is incredible. The guitar is extremely lightweight for those long practice hours. I am actually thinking about buying the six-string version of this instrument because I like the 7 string so much it just kicks ass 10/10Batman

Reviews:
Bought this aight unseen. Never touched nor played a Legator m. But based on the specs it was perfect for me, and sure enough! The Korean quality is impressive I ordered an Ibanez AXION Label RG THE SAME TIME, and i was super disappointed in The compared workmanship. The ibanez had tool markings on the fret, and this on didnt. Ibanez was indonesia, but still WAY more expensive. You pay for the name…Eddie the lover
I've had this for over a week now, electronics are far better than older models. Super comfy to play on and super light, I've recorded with it, live practice with it and put it through the ringer. Overall great experience!Senses Dakota
Everything Works perfect on this guitar. Looks beautiful and sounds great as well. I would definitely recommend this guitar for anyone interested in a 8 string guitar. It really is a piece of art and I can't see myself picking up any of my other guitarsKyle
