I bought the amplifier based on sound clips and others reviews. I love the amps clean channel with OD, Eq and delay in the signal chain for my driven sound. It gets a very articulated, clear, deep throaty sound that is intoxicating for rock sounds. I only have to turn it up to about 4-5 to be clearly heard in the mix. I don't care much for the OD channel as I find it a bit harsh for my taste, even when I dial it back a bit & Eq. it. The only comparisons I have are to my VOX AC 50 and Mesa V mark 25 valve amps. This amp is a great, inexpensive alternative that is ultimately portable – glad I bought it!Dr Crusher
This is a good amp that will give you different results based on your pickups and speaker cab. The tone stack is a bit dark so I like it less with humbuckers than with single coils, but it's still very useable either way. Depending on how you set it, it may or may not have trouble cutting through a band mix. I haven't had that problem, but my amp is always mic'd and we don't play super loud. The dirty channel is – from what I understand – more like an OD pedal overlaid on top of the clean channel. It sounds good and has its own lo/hi EQ and can go from a semi-clean boost to about as much gain as a tubescreamer or the like. Sounds very good, IMO, to the point that it would be possible to use this amp with no pedals for a gig. And it does take pedals well – I haven't run into anything that doesn't sound good. Overall this is an excellent lightweight amp that sounds great and is very giggable. I don't know that it's "better' or "worse" than "a tube amp" (as if tube amps are one generic thing). It just sounds good. I've never felt it lacked anything. I run it through either a 1×10, 1×12 or 1×15 cab and all sound great.Al
Love the clean channel – sparkly without ice pick highs. I don't care for the OD channel, it sounds too harsh for my style. I get the sound I want through an old GenX 2 from Digitech fed into the amp & out to 2 single 12" speakers. I'm blown away by how loud this little amp can get. It gives a full, thick throaty sound that is very articulate and gives singing highs when needed. The portability and sound delivery is amazing! I bought the open box model and couldn't be happier. Great sounding clean tones for playing at home, which is why i bought it – my beloved Mustang 1.1 started having issues and I MUST have a great clean tone to relax. Wanted a tube amp and did my research. Decided on the Blackstar. I must say I'm extremely happy with it. The reverb is KILLER to my ear and does a great job at adding shimmer without destroying the tone. No external effects are needed to get a gorgeous clean tone – I use my Zoom G3Xn into the front end to get univibe and compression. The effects loop is very functional. The amp can be very bass heavy, depending on your instrument, but if you run a 10 band EQ (go with MXR) in the loop you amp can achieve any tonal result you want. My best sound comes with everything at 12, with some of the bass rolled off with the MXR EQ – but its just a matter of taste i guess. This amp moves a lot of air when you use the drive channel, and if your not pleased with the amps distortion it does respond really well to distortion pedals. I'm mostly in the clean blues zone but must brag on the amps darker side: it can get very loud and stay rich. I haven't tried any of the direct recording features. The 2 selectable characters of clean that the amp offers thrill me and ,again, the reverb is classy and a bit different from other amps ( I read that is a room reverb). Highly recommended.Tim H.
This amp out of the box sounds fantastic. Crystal clear clean tones and a snarly gain channel that lets you choose between a more American gain tone and a British gain tone. I would say ‘cater for everyone’. But, I received my first amp and within an hour of playing I’d noticed a loud ‘POP’ when changing channels. This pop occurred if a note was being played at the same time as the channel change. (Footswitch and Amp buttons) So, of course I returned the Amp to PMT. they arranged DPD next working day collection for me, completely hassle free. I awaited my next amp, as a direct replacement. A few days later the next Blackstar HT-5R mkii arrived, box fresh like the last. I plugged the amp in, let the tubes warm and away I went. Within minutes of found a great tone again, but the loud ‘POP’ I heard from the first unit was there again on this amp. I tried 4 sockets in the house in case there was any kind of interference/static, but to no avail. Absolutely gutted, I called PMT again. The amp was returned for the second time. Apparently this hasn’t happened to anyone else, I may just be unlucky or the amp may not get along with the electrics in my home. Just check this out as soon as you buy one. I’ve tried two other valve amps on my house since, including a Blackstar Artist 10 AE and an Orange terror with cab, and there’s absolutely zero noise with these. Very important to note here, this is not a slam of PMT, they’ve been absolutely brilliant throughout this whole thing. Customer service is second to none and they are very easy to contact. Used these for a very long time and I will be returning once stores open to try out a new amp.Jack H.
Overall: So, I have been playing guitar for 40 years, always used Marshall's, So I did a bit of research, And found that 2 guys from the research and development team at Marshall for almost 20 years were trying to make some changes on some Marshall amps, Well Marshall said, "No", and these 2 guys decided to leave and start their own Co. Well just let me say, This 50 Watt head, Loaded with British sound and quality, could not be better! So many different features, and options of tone is incredible! Anyone looking to buy a Marshall head for over 2k, buy one of these!! you will not be disappointed! My god it sounds incredible! I picked up a 'B Stock' from PMT great condition/product. Fantastic Amp! great with pedal boards. When the revies say its Loud they're not exaggerating! It's Loud! Really Loud! Ar home running a GX100 through the front at half volume I had to set the Amp to 0.6 (not even 1) at 5W, it has 2 more settings 5/15/50. If your looking for a Loud Amp work great tones without spending £000's this is a great choice. I wanted that classic Marshall tone and power, but love the versatility of the modern effects/pedal boards. After reading lots of reviews from various sources all 4.7/5 4.9/5. I'd agree 4.9/5. The 3 volume settings of the attenuator mean you can use it at home, with drums/SML venues. The clean tones are… to behold, warm buttery smooth. Add a pedal board to the front of the amp it handles ot perfectly. Best in class at this price point.
Great amplifier, especially for the money. First of all it is an amazing pedal platform amp with nice bass and mid response. Everything I've run into it sounds really good, and it's near breakup gain is gain on 10 and boost off. It is most like a JTM45, it has a lot more bass and more active tone controls than later Marshall amplifiers like the JCM900 I previously owned. It doesn't overdrive too much on its own, but if you push it with a booster, it does pretty well. It is loud, even in the low power setting, and to really get it to drive, you need to push the power amp. It also doesn't seem to have as much drive as I remember from trying a 50 watt version, but that may have been the guitar more than the amp. Great value, I would recommend it to anyone looking for what I just described. If you want something that sounds like a Super Lead, Super Bass, or JCM800, this is not the right thing to buy. If you want a great pedal platform or early Marshall sound, you can't beat it.Craig
I've had My Marshall Origin for about 6 months and I've been pleasantly surprised. I've been a Les Paul/Marshall guy for 40 years and I have the hearing loss to prove it but this Marshall has it all. This versatile 20 watt head is the perfect combination of versatility and guts.This Amp is perfect for pedals as it great grand daddies were, I use an J Rockett Archer Ikon Klon clone, An OCD a Tone City King of Blues and an original Electro harmonics LPB-1 booster. I can go from crystal clear bell like tones to Ace's plexi grind to the verge of jCM 800 tones or straight in crank the Gain and get that sweet traditional Marshall tone and attack. Unlike the Marshalls of old the EQ section greatly influences the color of this Head and along with the tilt control which replaces the need to jump channels from the Hi and Lo inputs its all there. The addition of the switchable effects loop is a huge plus as is the gain/Boost control which gives you that little extra edge for leads. Running the amp on full and using your guitars volume and tone controls gives you a lot of versatility as well. The adjustable power out put feature is nice for quiet practice but I prefer to use my Bugera PS-1 attenuator and keep my amp volume on 10, just a personal preference. A suggestion, I've used this head with 1×12 and 2×12 cabinets an it sounds good but when i finally plugged it into a 4×12 this amp took on a whole new personality. The 4×12 let this amp breathe and with the EH LPB-1 driving the front end and a little reverb I had ACE's Kiss alive tone dead on by using the gain boost and a little color from various pedals the tone possibilities a vast. All in all this amp would be a great deal at twice the price, marshall once again did it right.Miggs

I just received the MV50 Clean, to be used as a backup to my Carvin Nomad guitar amp, and I carefully unpacked it because I assumed it was not going to be powerful enough. Well holy crap – I was wrong. Connected to the 1×12 Celestion Neo Creamback in my Carvin amp (8 ohm), it was loud. I set all controls at mid-point and the deep switch on and I was amazed. The tonal quality surprised as did the volume it kicked out. I then added an extension cabinet (with an 8 ohm Eminence 10" Alpha speaker) so I could load this little dynamo with 4 ohms, and, again, I was taken aback. Loud, yes, but also full sounding and clean. I cannot find any faults with it so far. Using it as a backup amp – sure. Using it as a main amp – it can do it! It is a keeper.
I'm running this through a 1×12 Bugera cab (which to my ear is a pretty neutral speaker, but sounds great). Unless your band plays way too loud this amp should give you enough volume for gigging (even at 25 watts through an 8 ohm speaker). Takes pedals well – all of my drive pedals sound great. The MV50 reacts like my tube amps with a boost pedal in front (Fulltone & Xotic). I really like the attenuator, and at home I play at 1/100 power with the volume at about noon. While this amp has a lot of clean headroom you will start to get some hair when you push it, but in a good way. It's the kind of sound where you can play clean by picking lightly but if you hit it hard you'll hear that you're on the edge of breakup. Not surprising for a Vox, this is not a mid-scooped Fender clean. Mids are present, but not pushed. It is a warm clean, not sterile or spikey at all to my ear. I've been playing this primarily with a Boss Fender reverb pedal and the tone really is glorious. I don't feel like I'm missing anything from my tube amps. Not a thing. I wish I'd had this thing years ago when I was throwing my back out moving 60lb tube amps to and from gigs. What I don't like. The unit feels very solid, seems like a quality piece of gear, but the mini chicken head knobs on the front feel cheap (a minor complaint). Mainly I don't like how much they have crammed on the back panel. You've got tiny switches for power, flat/deep, eco (shuts it off after 15 min. of non-use) and the attenuator, as well as headphone/line out & speaker out. Once you get a speaker cable plugged in it feels very cramped. I'd much rather that the power switch was on the front. Lastly, I wish I could get 50 watts @ 8 ohms, just for the headroom. This is giggable for me at 25 watts into 8 ohms & still gives you good headroom, but YMMV. I primarily use single coils. With hot humbuckers I don't know if you'd run out of clean headroom or not. With all 50 watts you'd be fine, I'm sure.NE Guy
First – let me say that this is a good, tiny pedal-platform amp, if that's what you're looking for. It has a very good base clean tone and it takes pedals well. I think most players looking to downsize would find this usable. If all you need is a good clean tone – for jazz, say – take a listen to one of these. I find the 4 ohm thing a bummer. I don't own any 4 ohm cabs, and after thinking about jumping through hoops to get all 50w available to me, I decided it wasn't worth it. This amp sounds really good, but at the very least for clean headroom, anyone looking for a pedal platform usually wants to control where the edge of breakup is, or have it totally clean. Beyond that, there's just too much crammed onto the (very small) back of the amp. Tiny switches plus the speaker out jack just mean it's hard to find the on/off switch, etc. Put the power switch on the front so I don't have to hunt for it. After having the MV50 a while I decided to try a DV Mark Micro 50 – and I like it better than the Vox. It's more versatile with 3 band EQ, and I have a full 50w to play with. Overall I prefer the DV Mark – I just feel it suits my clean & light OD tones better than the Vox. But if I had to gig with the Vox I'd be OK with it. Having said that, several months ago I came across a great deal on a Blues Cube Hot EL84 (more Vox-ish tone than the standard) and frankly, it blows the other two away. It's a combo, of course. So I'm keeping the DV Mark as a backup. The Vox has gone. Anyone looking to downsize should give one of these a listen. There is good to great tone in there, depending on your needs. Again – the 4 ohm load to get 50w is a bummer. But not everyone needs that much power. The small box is pretty cute and a cool conversation starter – but for practical purposes something slightly larger would've been a better idea, IMO.Mr. Joe

Bought this as an Open Box item in Mint Condition, and all though the boxes were torn and tattered, the Amp Head was in perfect shape. Not sure why someone had to return the head, but the foot pedal was crushed a little, so there may have been some damage at one point. Anyway, the Thrasher 120W is working just fine, and I'm very pleased with the sounds I'm getting with different pedal configurations. Someone said it was hard to dial in the sound they wanted, but it took me very little time to dial in some great tones. It is a versatile amp that can range from a rich clean tone, to an ear blowing distorted Monster. I've been playing a long time, and I'm kicking my self for never getting a Stack like this! My Fender Blues Deville 212 is going to be cold and lonely for a while, because I can dial in the tones I've always been looking for with this Thrasher and a few pedals.Hubie
As a guy that’s owned almost every high gain head and still owns a Fortin Cali, a KSR Gemini, Diezel Herbert MK3, a Monomyth Skeleton Key, a Omega Granophyre and a Ultra Lead it holds its own. Does it sound better than those? No I wouldn’t say that but it really isn’t a bad sounding amp and is real close to the satan in terms of tone. My biggest complaint would be it’s made in China and you can definitely tell the quality difference when it’s cracked open. Not a bad amp for the money thoughJason Quick
Overall: Bias your amp as soon as you get it otherwise the amp is underwhelming out of the box. Set the bias correctly even and the amp sounds the best. The stock ruby tubes are actually pretty good out of the box, I did swap the stock tubes for Tung-sols and it definitely gave alot more sound to the amp that i perfered. (You can mix and match the power tubes to different types than just the stock 6l6, i find the 6l6 the best for this amp, but el34 are good as well depending on what flavor you want)I use this amp primarily for studio use and it kills 5150 type of amps in versatility. You can get a plethora of different sounds. This amp does not need a overdrive but it can handle boosts and or overdrives very well. My favorite feature is the gain shaping options to really dial in the distortion character and the boost function is great for adding in a little more saturation focused on the higher mids.The clean channel is not over looked and delivers the goods.This amp isn't for everyone some perfer 5150 sounds, this gives you a hot rodded Marshall sounds met with Mesa type sounds and it's own 5150 type of sounds (but not exactly close but in the ballpark of 5150 style amps).After putting in the work with a tube swap and a bias, this amp is a monster and has plenty of gain necessary especially when it's biased even.This amp is assembled in China, but don't let that steer you away from it.. (Although my footswitch that came with the amp however came defective with a short in the cable where it meets the houseing and would not function without disconnecting the signal from the amp. I didn't want to return the whole amp after falling for its sounds compared to other amps i have had in my studio. I contacted zZounds customer service and they were able to reimburse me with a gift certificate to replace the defective footswitch, that's awesome customer service.)I will say this amp isn't made for everyone, especially if you perfer straight forward classic 5150 sounds (you may perfer the Randall Diavlo that costs less than this) If you want a Fortin Natas this amp is the closest you'll get to it with a little over 1/4th of the cost. I may contact Mike Fortin in the future in the interests of modding it personally to get it closer to the Natas in terms of transformers/chokes etc., till then this monster of an amp delivers the goods in terms of heavy music live or in the studio. Definitely made for someone who wants go have the options to tweak their sound and tone. I have yet to have a problem with the amp, my band mates are very impressed with quality of the sound when used at rehearsals compared to their 6505 and mesa rectifier they are used to hearing, and both my guitarists want one for themselves for live applications. This is my second Orange after having a OR15 a few years ago. The sound was good but I couldn't get it to clean up enough. This Rockerverb has a clean channel so that soled that. The MKIII is supposed to be brighter than the previous version but it needs to be dimed to be Shiney. Distortion sounds great

So, I don't shred, I am not anywhere close to being a metal guy or a classic rock guy which orange amps are known for. I play alt rock/shoe gaze and I took a big leap of faith on this amp. Never heard it live before and really just based my ideas off of reviews online. This amp is beyond what the reviews show and sound like. It literally took me about 15 minutes to dial in an amazing sound. It adapted to my pedals perfectly and I have't even started playing the the FX loop option. I don't have cheap pedals so the amp really has to have a pure clean sound for them to shine like they need too and this amp not only did that but made my pedals sound better than even I expected them too. It's heavy and it's expensive but I will never look back and wonder if I made the right decision. It is more than I could have hoped for. I am running it through a vox 2X12 with green backs for a cabinet. Great sounds and great amp!!!!John
I've played a lot of amps through the years. Including this guy I now own 6 that I've kept and let me tell you this thing covers the spectrum. This is the 3rd Orange I've owned, always felt the others shined in one area but missed somewhere else. Not the case with the Rockerverb Mark 3. Both channels are fully usable and I don't have a single complaint. I usually use a pedal for reverb but the reverb in this amp works incredibly well. It's also plenty loud enough for any situation. Amazing amounts of headroom. The built in attenuator works very well. You pay a premium for an amp like this but it's absolutely worth every penny. I literally cannot stop using it. If you find yourself struggling to decide if you should make the investment just stop and do it. You'll thank me later. A huge thanks to Jake and all the guys at Sweetwater for having this in stock and getting it out to me earlier than expected. Killer customer service as always!

Is blackstar amp is absolutely fantastic. It sounds great: the clean channel is good and has headroom but the dirty channel is absolutely brilliant and goes from UK rock to American gain with plenty of saturation on voice 2. And it writes the line out is brilliant for playing through the computer and using headphones and when I take it gigging having a cabinet along with the PA is going to sound utterly massive. My only gripe with it would be that now I would really like the EL34 version as well.Gary S.

I use the Interblock 45 amp on a 12×18 pedalboard (for guitar practice in my office) where it shares space with a Vox MV50 Rock amp, 6 or 7 pedals, and a few small A/B switches, playing into a 1×12 cabinet with a Celestion Heritage Series G12H (30W, 8 ohms) speaker. I usually but not always use the I-45 as a clean channel and the MV50 as a dirty channel. I especially like that the I-45 has an effects loop. Gain, Volume, and EQ adjustments are nicely progressive. The 2 EQ voices are distinctly and usefully different; same goes for the FR/Cab settings. Thus far, jack connections are solid. Headphone output is decent; I have not tried the I-45 direct to PA or computer. The knobs feel a bit flimsy, but not enough so to make me open the case to see what might be done to stiffen them up. The I-45 sounds great, is quite versatile, works nicely with all my pedals, and easily fits on my pedalboard. I considered rating it 4 stars because of the knobs; at its price I decided it deserved 5 stars.Strain
I am very impressed with the tone quality from this amp. I have been a tube amp snob for years, but this has turned out to be a great solid state back up and practice amp, and I have even used it as a primary amp for some smaller gigs. Takes pedals very well. Limiter knob is super clutch, and the reverb is pretty darn decent. In my experience so far, the amp keeps up with a drummer as long as they are not an obnoxiously loud player. I would recommend including a boost or overdrive in your pedal line up to push this thing a little more. I also own the Superblock US, which I think is more versatile, but the 101 does get significantly more volume. Very happy with the purchase. Only con- no XLR out – if that's a priority for you, probably should do the 202 or the Superblock.
First off this is NO ordinary solid state amp. Its class D power section provides an amazing replication of real tube feel, rectifier sag and tone. How Quilter did it I dont know but they did. Secondly after lugging heavy tube amps for 52 years of guitar playing, this 3 lb wonder is a huge relief. I have left all my tube amps home. One 12 inch speaker cab loaded with an Emminence Legend speaker and this 101 Mini Reverb Quilter and my condensed pedalboard and my Telecaster and I am ready to play. Dont be fooled by its size or weight. Its 50 watts are true tube level 50 watts. This little monster is a heavyweight champ. It gets real loud, I mean serious loud. I have been a devoted tube amp snob for all of my 52 years of playing guitar. NOT ANYMORE!! Its controls are laid out like a normal tube amp, the limiter control is nice, the mid knob makes a serious tonal difference and the reverb is very spring like. Overall: I’ve been looking for one amp to do it all,and this is the closest I’ve ever come yet. The cleans have a life of their own,it’s not merely lack of distortion but a whole depth and presence,think Stevie Ray Vaughn’s Riviera Paradise,Tin Pan Alley ,etc…Mark Knopfler’s tone,Hendrix’s Wind Cries Mary,yeah it’s that good.The overdrive channel can put out some juice too,pure singing single note leads with a quick attack,and damn good heavy riffage is available,but make no mistake this is no death metal amp.Classic rock yes,Cannibal Corpse no,but I’ve got amps for that stuff anyways.When I removed it from the box,I plugged in the included foot switch,turned on the power and waited for 10 minutes or so for the tubes to warm.I put all the tone controls to the halfway point and lowered the volume to about the number 1 position on any other amp,hit the standby switch and played a few chords on my Strat,it was on the clean channel and sounded glorious!This thing takes some adjusting to get the sound you want,but every move of a knob makes a difference so finding a tone that makes you happy shouldn’t be a problem. The foot switch is nice and silent and the LED indicators for the dirty channel and the boost are super bright. I’ve only had this amp three days and I can’t wait to get home from work and play through it! Definitely worth the money and although pricey still less expensive than the only other amps that approach it’s features and tone. Of course I haven’t had to deal with any warranty work,after all I just got it,but I have the feeling I’m not going to have to deal with that,this thing is solid as a tank.For what it’s worth I highly recommend this thing,it’s a serious amp for serious playersDave

This is an incredible amp!!! I have never played a more versatile Head. Beautiful cleans and powerful gain tones. All the other reviews will give you more detail on the tones. I find that so subjective its hard to tell others what I like without you being me. The only thing to knock is there are some things you NEED to know about the amp that are not clearly laid out. Even the GC salesperson wasn't aware of it. When I first got the amp I compared it to the EVH 5150. I almost returned the VHT because I couldn't get enough headroom for clean tones. I called them and it was explained to me that if you want plenty of headroom you need to dime the master. Have the OD toggle in the back above the footswitch down. The Mid toggle is down and the other toggle in the front is on Jazz. After that I got ALL of the cleans I wanted. I then used a Tube screamer and didn't need to change things up for some nice tasting gain tones when I wanted them. The OD toggle in the back, The mid toggle in front, Jazz/Rock, drive dial, all to do with the pre amp. When wanting gain and distortion playing with them you can create all types of different tones. Get to know the amp and you will LOVE it. Oh, I returned the EVH in favor of this.Ham
Great amp. It takes a while to dial in. The clean channel can take pedals the overdrive not so much. Gets in the Dumble sound for jazz/fusion but also can nail a rock tone. Overdrive has a lot of oomph. Can get bell tones on the clean channel. It does take a while to dial in though and every guitar needs tweaked. I would recommend this amp. It is easily modified to suit the taste of your ears and sounds great as is.Rick
I got a hold of this amp from a dealer who picked it up at the NAMM Show and overall I am pretty thrilled with it. It's incredibly versatile, has that creamy gain with tons of sustain when cranked and has the mid punch that this type of amp is famous for. The clean sound is very nice and will sit in a mix really well but isn't that bottomless fender clean crazy round sound you can get. It's close but not quite meant to do that, it's designed to shine where a guitar does the work, in the mids. The boost channel has a very nice sustained sound for leads and also has a phenomenal crunch. You can dial in some very SRV and Gilmour like tones with this amp. The 3 way bright switch, rock and jazz and mid are very effective and do give you a great tone shaping palette. The only cons so far are a lack of built in reverb and the preamp controls are tied to the clean volume as well so if you want a totally clean sound and super high gain setting the clean channel will be loud. For moderate gain and super clean sounds its very easy to balance the volume. Tons of versatility and an extremely gigable amp right out of the box. The pre-amp boost button makes it feel like you have an extra channel as doing this drives the volume and gain up a bit to the ear. We'll see it holds up, but a point to point amp with components on eyelet boards at this price point is pretty incredible. There may be a better D style amp out there but you can always mod to taste with this layout so it's an incredible platform that starts off in a really good place. I would love to a – b it with a Ceriatone or an actual overdrive special. Also I goat a vht cabinet with the chromeback speaker, I changed it out to a mesa boogie black shadow immediately, the stock chromeback speaker was very treble heavy and piercing. I have a few other cabinets and liked playing this amp through my 1×12 with a cannibus rex the most. The build quality of the cabinet is excellent though.JMatch

I’m very satisfied with Fillmore 50. It’s very new type of Mesa. But it has real Mesa sounds without doubt. I have owned Mark Ⅴ-35 which has 2 channels, very clean and very high gain. On the other hand, Fillmore has 2 identical channels, which allows you to express very subtle different tones, like very clean and slightly clipped, light crunch and relatively heavy crunch, or mid high gain and very high gain and more, infinite combination. Very versatile ! Furthermore, it can be perfect Pedal platform. For example, I was very surprised at the sounds of Tubes Screamer (Ts808 & TS9). Till then, I didn’t realise TS is great pedal, to be honest. Fillmore + TS= perfect ! Even if you are not Boogie fan, you must realise how the Fillmore is great amp, real Fillmore magic. Der Amp ist extrem vielseitig, 2 komplett und mit eigenem Master ausgestattete Kanäle lassen der Kreativität freien Lauf, der Cleankanal überrascht mit detailliertem wunderbaren Klang, der, je weiter das Volumepoti aufgedreht wird den Ton langsam aufbrechen lässt..sehr schön, dank Master auch in gesitteter, ja fast Bedroomlautstärke möglich. der Kanal hat bei Volumepoti auf 10h enorm Headroom und genug Lautstärkepotential über den Mater auch für die größere Bühne. Die Klangregelung arbeitet effektiv und lässt vom Fender-Sparkle bis Jazz alles zu. Mit Pedals verträgt sich der Cleanchannel ganz vortrefflich, auch mit Modulationseffekten. Der Overdrivekanal kann von Bluesrock bis High-Gain alles abdecken, wobei Gain bis zum Abwinken zur Verfügung steht, was vor Allem die härtere Fraktion freuen dürfte. ich persönlich bin mit Gain auf 9h sehr zufrieden. Auch hier greift die Klangregelung effektiv und umfassend zu, vom fast beissenden Distortionsound, Midscoop oder bis zum Classicrocksound ist alles drin. Genial sind die globalen Regler Presence und Depth, durch die der Sound des Amps nochmals massiv an den jeweiligen Stil angepasst werden kann. Nun zur Schwäche des Amps: der serielle Einschleifweg mag nicht jedes Pedal, hier sollte man nur hochwertige Teile einschleifen. Natürlich wäre auch ein gutes Reverb a la Fender – Spring schön gewesen, meine 3 Reverbpedals (Strymon, Electroharmonix, G*R Lab) funktionieren aber alle in der Effektschleife problemlos.. Das Gewicht von knapp 20kg ist noch gut zu handeln. Summa Summarum ein toller, vielseitiger Amp der auch professionellem Anspruch gerecht wird und auch noch gut aussieht. Den Preis kann man deshalb absolut gerechtfertigt, ja sogar günstig nennen.
Overall: Have 2 weeks on mine now, gone through all its paces. I'm 100% happy I did the preorder and got this. It's got characteristics of all the high gain amps out there. It sits right between a mesa rectifier and 5150 in my opinion. Plenty of lowend, plenty of grind. Super balanced sounding gain structure. Every string rings out clear. The presence and depth really help sculpt the last part of your tones. Doesn't get muddy in low tunings, the gain knob is very gradual and usable. The loop noise issue from the mkI archon seems to have been resolved in this iteration. Overall I'm in love with the amp and highly recommend it for people looking for a different flavor than the typical high gain monsters out there that cost an arm and a leg.

overall I really like this amp. the dirty channel has a good crunch. Not a very tainted sound, which I like a lot. Clean channel is not real chimy like some, but nice and clean. the face plate is also black, unlike the 30 watt which is easier to see. The issue is the channel switching. While some amps are known for a load pop, this is quite the opposite, and I am guessing the pop is what they were trying to avoid. this one actually drops in volume and then comes back up between channels. First one arrived and the overdrive channel sounded awful. Made arrangements to return it and the process went quick, I had a new one a week after sending the bad one back. The second one turned out as advertised. You can dial in a wide range of tones and has that beautiful tube sound. The reverb is just a tad weak but still ok. Also, effects pedals sound great. I had a 50 watt 6L6 guitar head and sold it only to regret it later. I saw this one on sale and I took a chance. Glad I did. Disclaimer: I only use it for a pedal platform, although I have tried the gain channel. It's "ok" (not great) but to use the amp that way you'll really have to work with the both channels to achieve unity volume. As a clean channel pedal platform it's great. Like others have said the reverb is lacking but I usually just leave it on 10:00 for ambience. This amp is LOUD and can easily hang with a large band if needed. As far as reliability, time will tell, but it seems well made IMO.john

For classic rock lovers looking for those delicious, Super Lead Plexi-type tones (think classic rock from the 60's and 70's–Hendrix, Zeppelin, AC/DC, Aerosmith, etc.), this amp is for you! I am totally blown away with this amp for the price. I'm glad I pulled the trigger when I did because this amp is now $150.00 more than what I spent. I had a hard time deciding between the 50W and the 20W versions. I went with the 50W to have more clean head room, but would have been just as happy with the 20W head. And who plans to play a Marshall clean anyway? 😀 Most who purchase a Marshall are planning to crank for crunch, although you can get some nice clean tones and all that jazz :-D. The only downside with the 50W version is that you will have to bias the amp if you ever replace/swap the tubes. The 50W is not cathode/self-biasing like the 20W head, so plan on $30-$60 to bias your amp with a tube swap unless you have the equipment and know-how to bias yourself. This amp is extremely loud, even with the mid-power setting! Oh my heck is it loud! I'm running this head through an EVH EL34 2×12 with Celestion G12H 30W Anniversary speakers. Holy wow, awesome, and loud! 😀 To save your ears and keep your family and neighbors happy, I'd advise using an attenuator or power soak. With the Marshall Origin, to get those nice, crunchy, classic Marshall tones, you really have to crank the master volume to around 6-8 to saturate the power tubes and then also dial in your preamp gain to around 6-10. We're talking loud, loud, loud without an attenuator! For a very affordable power soak option, go with the Bugera PS1 (under $100.00), which will allow you to crank (even dime) this Marshall to get all those classic Marshall tones without blowing your brains out. Note–this is not a high gain Marshall amp. It's a classic rock Marshall, but it takes pedals extremely well for those wishing for more high-gain territory.AJ
This is an amazing amp! Not only is it affordable, but it's so versatile! I like to dial in an edge of breakup tone so that by rolling back the volume pot on my Guitar I have pristine cleans, roll it up for that classic "crunchy," biting clean. This amp also LOVES pedals, so when I want more gain I can step on the blue channel of my Friedman BE-OD Deluxe. Even More gain = the second channel on the BE-OD Deluxe with the mids ever so slightly cut back (now we're getting into the hard rock/metal territory). And if that's not quite heavy enough to serve a particular sound, well the internal foot-switchable boost adds a nice extra oomph. The EHX Metal M*ff is great for those extreme levels of gain (contrary to other reviews, this amp is perfectly capable of doing Metal if you utilize your favorite dirt pedals). And the effects loop is wonderful! Reverbs, Delays, Modulations…they sound great through the loop! Even on the lowest power setting, this amp is very LOUD, because that highly sought after power amp distortion that makes a Plexi so desirable demands to be heard!! Is this a Plexi? Of course not, but that magical characteristic of genuine Marshall tone is quite convincing in the Origin! IMHO, for the price, this is as close as you will ever get, and it is fantastic! If you want a good, reliable, LOUD amp with the versatility to cover all your needs, and don't want to spend 5x's as much, well this IS what you have been wishing you could find!Shasal
This is am amazing amp! The 3 power setting are cool and overall this amp has out performed. This is my first Marshall head, and I was thinking about spending some extra money, but for a first or second Marshall, save money and snag an Origin. Definitely a big fan of Marshall. Can't wait for up keep and tube swaps, the back looks very serviceable. I would definitely have a couple fewer heads if I had gotten and Origin sooner. I was thinking DSL or Origin, the extra channel don't mean much to me. I added a clean boost and there's your second channel. That's why I settled on an Origin. Good luck, hope this was helpful

I just received the MV50 Clean, to be used as a backup to my Carvin Nomad guitar amp, and I carefully unpacked it because I assumed it was not going to be powerful enough. Well holy crap – I was wrong. Connected to the 1×12 Celestion Neo Creamback in my Carvin amp (8 ohm), it was loud. I set all controls at mid-point and the deep switch on and I was amazed. The tonal quality surprised as did the volume it kicked out. I then added an extension cabinet (with an 8 ohm Eminence 10" Alpha speaker) so I could load this little dynamo with 4 ohms, and, again, I was taken aback. Loud, yes, but also full sounding and clean. I cannot find any faults with it so far. Using it as a backup amp – sure. Using it as a main amp – it can do it! It is a keeper.
I'm running this through a 1×12 Bugera cab (which to my ear is a pretty neutral speaker, but sounds great). Unless your band plays way too loud this amp should give you enough volume for gigging (even at 25 watts through an 8 ohm speaker). Takes pedals well – all of my drive pedals sound great. The MV50 reacts like my tube amps with a boost pedal in front (Fulltone & Xotic). I really like the attenuator, and at home I play at 1/100 power with the volume at about noon. While this amp has a lot of clean headroom you will start to get some hair when you push it, but in a good way. It's the kind of sound where you can play clean by picking lightly but if you hit it hard you'll hear that you're on the edge of breakup. Not surprising for a Vox, this is not a mid-scooped Fender clean. Mids are present, but not pushed. It is a warm clean, not sterile or spikey at all to my ear. I've been playing this primarily with a Boss Fender reverb pedal and the tone really is glorious. I don't feel like I'm missing anything from my tube amps. Not a thing. I wish I'd had this thing years ago when I was throwing my back out moving 60lb tube amps to and from gigs. What I don't like. The unit feels very solid, seems like a quality piece of gear, but the mini chicken head knobs on the front feel cheap (a minor complaint). Mainly I don't like how much they have crammed on the back panel. You've got tiny switches for power, flat/deep, eco (shuts it off after 15 min. of non-use) and the attenuator, as well as headphone/line out & speaker out. Once you get a speaker cable plugged in it feels very cramped. I'd much rather that the power switch was on the front. Lastly, I wish I could get 50 watts @ 8 ohms, just for the headroom. This is giggable for me at 25 watts into 8 ohms & still gives you good headroom, but YMMV. I primarily use single coils. With hot humbuckers I don't know if you'd run out of clean headroom or not. With all 50 watts you'd be fine, I'm sure.NE Guy
First – let me say that this is a good, tiny pedal-platform amp, if that's what you're looking for. It has a very good base clean tone and it takes pedals well. I think most players looking to downsize would find this usable. If all you need is a good clean tone – for jazz, say – take a listen to one of these. I find the 4 ohm thing a bummer. I don't own any 4 ohm cabs, and after thinking about jumping through hoops to get all 50w available to me, I decided it wasn't worth it. This amp sounds really good, but at the very least for clean headroom, anyone looking for a pedal platform usually wants to control where the edge of breakup is, or have it totally clean. Beyond that, there's just too much crammed onto the (very small) back of the amp. Tiny switches plus the speaker out jack just mean it's hard to find the on/off switch, etc. Put the power switch on the front so I don't have to hunt for it. After having the MV50 a while I decided to try a DV Mark Micro 50 – and I like it better than the Vox. It's more versatile with 3 band EQ, and I have a full 50w to play with. Overall I prefer the DV Mark – I just feel it suits my clean & light OD tones better than the Vox. But if I had to gig with the Vox I'd be OK with it. Having said that, several months ago I came across a great deal on a Blues Cube Hot EL84 (more Vox-ish tone than the standard) and frankly, it blows the other two away. It's a combo, of course. So I'm keeping the DV Mark as a backup. The Vox has gone. Anyone looking to downsize should give one of these a listen. There is good to great tone in there, depending on your needs. Again – the 4 ohm load to get 50w is a bummer. But not everyone needs that much power. The small box is pretty cute and a cool conversation starter – but for practical purposes something slightly larger would've been a better idea, IMO.Mr. Joe

Came upon the notion that I needed to begin a tone quest. After many failed attempts to achieve an amp with the same energy and sounds heard in my head, I am finally satisfied. Real guitar player feature loaded, d-like tone quality, and gets quiet enough to play at home with the master level control. Not a Marshall or Mesa chugga rhythm style amp so prepare to be a lead player almost exclusively once you pair up with this articulate beauty. The more saturated gain settings get almost fuzz pedal like, but still awesome. Still trying to wrap my head around all this amp has to offer but in a really good fun never ends kind of way. This is peavey's earlier realization of the classic 50 amp. i bought this about 4 years ago when i left for college and it has served me well as a gigging amplifier. i just put new tubes in about a week ago and the amp is sounding great. i'm mostly a jazz player, so i never really utilized the drive channel, nor has the amp been played very hard but both channels are functioning perfectly. it's a used amp from the 90's so you'll definitely notice checks and small tears in the tolex, a missing chickened knob, replaced handle, and a new heavy duty power cable. the amp has its stories but has been playing strong for me since i got it. i put the vw logo on the front for extra swag, but i can take that off if you would prefer, the big band i played with called it "the van." it's heavy, loud, and plays well with pedals. happy playing!

I got this in on Wednesday, took it to church, set it up and played through it that night. I am very pleased with the clean sound. I don't know much about dirty sound as I only play clean… But it seems like it's easy to get about any sound you want! This amp is easily up there with my Bassman and Blues DeVille 4x10s, with plenty of power and headroom baby. Good value due to lower price point. Built right, sounds warm and clear, but gets thick and growls too, nice wet reverb. I got a great condition level 1 – mint deal on this monster tweed tonal heavy hitter. Outstanding clean amp, very close to it's bassman origins and certainly not the amp you want if you expect tons of gain from the amp itself. It's plenty loud for anything with the right cab and it takes drive pedals (Vintage LM306 Rat, TS, Fuzz Face, and more) better than many amps I've used. The tone emanating from this amplifier is nothing short of phenomenal. You will hear the characteristics of each guitar in your arsenal be it a Strat, Les Paul, PRS, Super Strat, Tele, etc. The volume taper is extremely smooth allowing you to dial in any volume level you need be it for practice, rehearsal, or the gig. This amplifier dials in quickly! I've never experienced a bad tone from the Victory RK50. It provides a smooth, warm classic rock tone that can be boosted to hard rock and shred levels of gain (listen to Richie Kotzen). The cleans are beautiful, blooming, warm and/or bright depending on how you set the gain knob. Near the edge of breakup tones can be easily obtained via your guitar's volume knob. It should be obvious this is not a high gain metal amp. Checkout the Victory Kraken for those tones. Top-notch boutique build quality all around and ships with a gig bag! I have no complaints or regrets from this purchase. In fact, a friend and colleague of mine bought an RK50 after hearing my rave reviews. Firstly, let me say how quickly Monoprice shipped this to me .. ordered on Monday and delivered Wednesday morning to NY! Guess MP is now shipping from Kentucky, which is great .. no more 5 days in transit from CA to NY 🙂 The amp itself? All I can say is WOW!!! Solidly built with classy looking trimming all around, protective metal bumpers on all 8 corners, top handle with sufficient padding that won't cause hand cramps when carried. On to the sound sections: ——————————– I spent around 3 hours toying with the amp using my G&L ASAT (large MFD pups), just going thru the various gain/volume and tone settings on each channel, and overall my impression is that this amp is capable of achieving a wide variety of tones, from bell clean to screaming metal and everything in between. Clean Channel is absolutely gorgeous sounding. Nice three-dimensional timbre which can only be achieved with a tube amp. Tone controls (Treb/Mid/Bass) seem to interact with each other in a pleasant manner, by turning one or another the tone changes dramatically but still subtly, if that makes any sense. /grin … The Bright switch reacts similarly, it's almost as if there are two sets of overall tone in the clean channel, just by switching 'Bright' on or off. Drive Channel is what you'd expect – lots of crunch with the aforementioned Treb/Mid/Bass interactions. I'm not much of a 'metal' type player, so can't really comment on this section with an opinion, but I liked what I heard in "Drive". Monoprice hit it out of the ballpark with this amp, for mid sized gigs or even small gigs, this amp is a clear winner.New User
The only complaint is the speaker used. While I do understand the logic, I still am not a fan of the celestion seventy 80s. Although, it could be addressed by just adjusting the settings. I got mine shipped securely. I updated the speakers to emminence cannibis rex but thats just for my own taste. Wpuld be nice to have different options for the speaker if that is feasible at all for monoprice. Bottom line, its a lot of ampmfor the price. I highly recommend it!Zed Byron Pisec
