Don't let it's size fool you, this yamaha apxt2 can bring it! you'll be surprised how punchy and full the tone is coming from this 3/4 sized flyweight! constructed with a nato neck, rosewood fingerboard and meranti back and sides,this apxt2 utilizes an art based pickup and yamaha's proprietary onboard tuning system. the tone is very lively with a warm, smooth character. the short scale and low action lend an easy, relaxed feel to this guitar. this one is pretty clean overall with very little play wear. there are the ever present finish swirls (hey! it's black) and light pick marks. there is a small finish crack on the rear of the body (see pic) but it appears entirely superficial. this little yama-monster delivers a much bigger punch and fun quotient than it's diminutive size would lead you to believe.

For what it is – a very cheap, small, travel guitar, this is great. You'll need a strap as it doesn't sit high enough on your leg to be comfortable to play. Also – the action was high, but a bit of adjusting with a belt sander on the saddle and that came down well. The scale length is short, but plays OK – takes a bit of getting used to from my full-sized acoustics. Putting a capo on it and making chords further up the neck is tight, but OK. Sound is very good for a travel guitar of this size. This would be a great kids guitar or even for an adult beginner. I did put 11s on it – sounds a bit weaker, but is fine, and that's what I use on my other acoustics. I had a washburn rover before – this is better, though not as small, but worth the extra size, I think. I have a GS Mini, which is much better, but a good bit larger, and much more expensive. Tuner works good, haven't tried plugging it in yet. Bought this for the boat – seems pretty sturdy.Alexander
I bought this guitar because I have chronic pain and am a small lady and found that even smaller acoustic guitars are too big and bulky and unplayable. I like to play high up on the neck so wanted a cutaway and occasionally perform so having an electro-acoustic version means it ticks all the boxes. When play acoustically it does sound really tinny, there's not getting away from that. It also tends to be unbalanced toward the neck end, so I need a strap to keep it in place. But it is much more playable for practice and I am almost managing to play bar chords again. Not chance on a normal size guitar. It has a full fret board just smaller but not too small.Michelle S.
I ordered this for my pastors wife who wanted to learn a new instrument. She is tiny ( less that 5 ' tall) and a full size guitar would not fit her body type. I was shocked when the guitar came in. The photos on line do not do the finish justice. I was even more shocked when I played it. Most student guitars in this price point have horrible action. The set up on this from the factory was great. It was very easy to play and the sound was extremely good for a thin body acoustic . Then we plugged it in. I could not believe the sound quality of the electronics in this guitar. On Sunday, I pulled out after church and let the music team take turns with it. Everyone that played it raved about every aspect of this little guitar. The instrument also came with a quality gig bag. The material was thick, padding was good, the zippers and hardware appeared to by sturdy. Even more importantly, she loved the guitar. READ ALL: Great little guitar for a beginner. I bought this for my sons (13, 11, 9) I've played for years and wanted something for them to learn on. The MIKRO does just that. The action is descent, pick-ups are average, tuning keys are a little weak (tune B4 playing) , effects are almost non-existent. It's not an instrument you would perform with-but it's a great little axe to learn on. I did have to take it to a guitar tech shortly after purchase- the frets expanded past the neck – making moving your hand up and down the neck down right dangerous – not to mention the e string would get stuck on the frets very easily (not under warranty). The tech said it was typical of the MIKRO (he is an Ibanez dealer)and was due to lack of moisture in the guitar (what can I say, it's winter time and I run the gas heat). Overall, I rate it as average. But I gotta say-for around $100 I've been too hard on it. I would buy it again and don't regret buying this one. But many individuals (on other sites) have claimed they perform on stage with this axe, and I just don't see it happening. Great guitar for smaller hands or traveling (I find myself taking it everywhere). Good entry level guitar for 6 years+. I would suggest changing the strings for a heavier gauge (10 or 11) as the stock 9’s go out of tune due regularly to the nature of it being a short scale guitar. Well finished, although I did lower the action on the saddles and had to correct the intonation a little bit. Neck is straight and frets have no sharp edges. Pickups are ok, a little bit lacking in clarity and noisy, but to be expected on a guitar in the price range. Overall a good entry level guitar for a younger player or someone with smaller hands.

I always liked the Ibanez instruments and products. This guitar for the money has a great sound, is light and small, very practical for people with small hands, or for children. Playability is nice, the pickups are good, hardware is good. It's versatile also for all types of genre's. Ideal for rock and metal, shreds real nice. If you're looking for a good but inexpensive guitar, this one is a good purchase. It's not only for beginners, it's for all level players.John
Classic Ibanez body shape, neck, tuners and lightweight, like a scaled down Soundgear (SGR) series only sans the unnecessary active bass junk. Knobs are solid metal, not cheap plastic ones found on other low end Ibanez basses. Only thing bass needed out of box was intonation set. No neck adjustments needed and no significant buzz. Strings are round wound (my pref). Would not recommend this bass if you think you need (tone killing) flat wound. I'm not aware of anyone making flatwound strings for a 28.6" scale bass. Note: scale length of this bass (28.6") is shorter than typical short scale (30"). The strings on it are proprietary (Ibanez). You might be able to make some cut down long scale strings work (pain, wouldn't recommend) but the proprietary Ibanez strings are the way to go. MF doesn't sell them for some reason. You can find them online for a very reasonable price online. Buy a couple of extra sets. Pickups are jazz bass style and config (two volumes + one tone) which is my pref. I had zero issues with tone or volume controls. Pickups are all passive. Yah! And tone sounds great, classic jazz bass tones available including a nice Jaco-ish tone with 100% bridge pickup and tone rolled way down. Be wary of review comments from guitar players that don't play bass and buy this bass and suddenly have a lot of opinions about what this bass should and shouldn't be. This bass does not need the bridge, pickups, tuners or electronics replaced to make it a "pro" instrument. All this bass needs to be a "pro" instrument, is a "pro" player playing it. Tone is in your fingers. I highly recommend for beginners and I think experienced players will dig it as well, especially those that appreciate shorter scale instruments.mark5211
Overall: We bought two of the Mikro guitars. A GRGM21 and a P.Gilbert Model. We expected at this price that some changes would be needed; and we were right. The nut has to be replaced. The original has so much wrong with it that I really don't want to type a paragraph explaining. It's made of bad material and you will never get to tune without replacing it. Consider the nut a "model" and there should be instructions with the guitar saying to replace it soon as poosible. There's gonna be some buzz from some high frets but that was an easy fix. There a a couple tricks to getting the intonation right but it can be done. (hint: move the saddles all the way forward) Hope this helped.

Overall: Always wanted a Nashville Tele but several things were stopping me from buying it. I could have made some mods myself but that kind of defeats the purpose of a new guitar. No bridge + neck pickup option was a biggie.No locking tuners. All my guitars have locking tuners. 3 saddles instead of 6 individual. I just prefer the 6 even for a Tele.No noiseless pickups. Now they've also done a couple of things I wasn't necessarily looking for but are nice addition. The rolled fingerboard edges are a really nice touch as well as the belly cut. Again, not expected but very nice additions especially since I can roll my own fingerboards but have never attempted my own belly cut on a Tele and probably wouldn't but they are really nice on my G&L's. For the not so great stuff. The neck had entirely too much relief in it but this was rectified with a truss rod adjustment. I did have to do a fret level, crown and polish. The guitar also had a bit of fret sprout and some sharp ends. I easily fixed these issues but would understand others might have to take it to their local tech for a fret job. After a little work on my part the guitar plays wonderfully. The neck is really comfortable. This is every bit as good a guitar as the US produced Fender's I have played recently. The sounds are exactly what you would and should expect from a Nashville Tele. Overall, this is a very well made guitar. Played 4 gigs with it over the New Year break and I gotta say, this is probably going to be right there onstage with my EBMM's. No, it's not as good as my Cutlass and LIII's but it doesn't need to be. I think this guitar is a great bargain and I'm pretty picky. Fender finally got the Nashville Tele right. What a absolutely beautiful instrument. I got mine surf green and the online pictures don't do it justice. Guitar arrived flawless and played great out of the box. Action seemed a little higher than I like, but still plays great with the vintage frets to my surprise. Definitely has that telecaster sound with very nice cleans and twang. Also hitting it with a tube screamer or distortion pedal it has a snarl. Playing through a PRRI, 78 SFDR and 67 Vibro Champ. The C shaped neck does seem slightly beefier than other C shapes on my AVRI strats, but I find it just as comfortable and a nice difference. Clay inlays look really good on the rosewood neck also. There is also a tint to the neck that's more than what was on the previous line of AVRI guitars but I think it looks good.Don
This telecaster is legendary. First, the noiseless pickups immediately distinguish this tele from others and result in ZERO hum and stays that way on all pickups. Second, the C-shape fretboard design makes for effortless phrasing. Third, this guitar is impressively light (much more so than my strat) and is therefore my go-to guitar for gigging. And I should add the unique color configuration makes this tele stand out from the rest. Apparently "Aged Candle Apple Red" is Fender's own thing. Finally, I should note that I run this guitar through my Marshall DSL40CR. The combination makes for great depth and a fullness that rivals my strat — including on clean tones. I bought this guitar in 2010 and it has been my main rig since. I bought it as a backup guitar to my ESP Horizon, which is my prized possession, but this EC401 never felt like it lacked any of the charisma the Horizon has. Surely, it's not quite as well constructed, but take that as no indication of build quality. This is beautifully constructed actually, with no real areas of weakness. The Horizon is just faultless, being a custom Japanese model. The first time I held one i was sold. Great weight, great resonance, great sustain, great playabilty. This thing absolutely shreds. The only things I've done to it are satin finish the neck and locking tuners. I have never, and will never regret this purchase, nor will I ever sell it. I've had no issues at all. Nothing needs to be done to it. I've just modded nine to suit my playing a fraction more, but they weren't necessary modifications. After gigging with this live countless times, I can vouch that this thing will stand the test of time.Slam

Jackson js34q in transparent red. has all original hardware including a jackson-licensed floyd rose tremolo and trem arm. some light wear after several years of play. there is a small, barely visible bump mark on the back side of the bottom horn. an otherwise gorgeous finish with a beautiful curly maple top. 2 screws are missing from the back plate, guitar is in need of a setup and intonation. the b string buzzes just a bit after sitting for a few months in it's case. after setup this guitar is super playable and shreddy. very comfortable weight. includes a premium hard case and a very nice crimson seatbelt strap from couch straps.

I would suggest both the JS34Q (this purchase) and the similarly priced and same model series JS32QM for, in my judgement, an all around reliable and capable instrument at a moderate to economical price. The pick up configuration is the only difference between these two models. The price is about the same as well. I've had and used my Jackson JS32QM for about a year now. It stays in tune (I use the tremolo a lot) and has never failed me. But I was seeking a backup. That is why I purchased this Jackson JS34Q (here). So I expect to have the same experience with the new JS34Q as it physically is the same build as my JS32QM. So far I've had no issues, plus I think the JS34Q was already set up. I am absolutely not saying that generally any guitar brand comes set up new. It is no big deal anyway to set up a guitar. For me Floyd Rose guitars are the easiest to set up due to access and hex tools. Hard tails often have easy to damage little slot things, hard to get to and length limited range. Beginners take note. I have a hard tail Jackson Kelli too. It plays a lot like a mix of my SG and my '58 LPJr., which means great bends and chording. So therefore I can say I've had all types of guitars over the last 45 years and with all the past experience I'm a dedicated Jackson user now. So I can unreservedly suggest a Jackson, at least those I mentioned. I was expecting this new Jackson JS34Q to pretty much be a close twin to my current JS32QM, but was pleasantly surprised to find the difference in sound and play feel with just a different pickup configuration and maple neck. Both guitars have humbuckers in bridge position, but they sound totally different. I'm thinking maybe it is the maple neck? Anyway, it is a good thing, now I get that Hendrix-Trower-SRV-on sound. Got to GC to return something and already have enough guitars and am actually selling some to make room. Well, I don't have a purple or a Jackson, and I love the HSS configuration and had a Fishman set I wanted to try, so I grebes this guitar off the wall to test it out. I'm not an import guitar snob, so I don't judge Chinese guitars harshly unless there are QC issues. I had played the red and the blue colors of this model around Thanksgiving and literally cut my hand to bleeding because I didn't check the fret ends before playing the guitars. Well needless to say, this purple one's fret job had no razor ends and was built incredibly well with a tight finish. Stock pickups are very solid, though an aftermarket upgrade is always the way to go for more articulation. I'm partial to actives now, but I think I might swap it's Fishman's I installed with my Banshee's DMZ Protrack, Alumitone, Andy Timmons AT-1 Bridge. I love the Schecter also for its Thick D neck and larger radius, but this Jackson just has this awesome bright, yet not harsh tone that comes off the strings and the neck is extremely playable. I can't say enough good things about this guitar and I'm hoping to score a mid-tier Jackson now as they belong right up there with Schecter and ESP as far as brands I can expect a consistently playable guitar, no matter the price range. I'm very impressed with this guitar for the price. Out of the box, the action was quite low and the intonation was almost perfect. There's no buzzing anywhere on the fretboard. The fit and finish on my guitar was flawless, even in usual problem areas like around the tremolo and pickups. Playability is excellent with one exception: when bending strings, it feels like the frets are sandpaper. Oddly, they feel perfectly smooth to the touch. This has already improved somewhat after an hour of playing, and I suspect they'll smooth out with use. This is very subjective, but through an amp it doesn't sound as good as my other electrics. I can't quite put my finger on it, it just falls flat. Not too surprising given that these are inexpensive pickups. Or maybe it's simply different than what I'm used to. Your mileage may vary. As with any three-pickup guitar, the middle single coil falls right in the way of my pick when palm muting. Again, your mileage may vary. All things considered, this is an exceptional value and would be great for any beginning or intermediate player. I suspect examples can vary widely depending on who assembled them and did the final setup, and I'm sure there are some lemons out there as evidenced by some other reviews, but mine is excellent.Ross

Classic Ibanez body shape, neck, tuners and lightweight, like a scaled down Soundgear (SGR) series only sans the unnecessary active bass junk. Knobs are solid metal, not cheap plastic ones found on other low end Ibanez basses. Only thing bass needed out of box was intonation set. No neck adjustments needed and no significant buzz. Strings are round wound (my pref). Would not recommend this bass if you think you need (tone killing) flat wound. I'm not aware of anyone making flatwound strings for a 28.6" scale bass. Note: scale length of this bass (28.6") is shorter than typical short scale (30"). The strings on it are proprietary (Ibanez). You might be able to make some cut down long scale strings work (pain, wouldn't recommend) but the proprietary Ibanez strings are the way to go. MF doesn't sell them for some reason. You can find them online for a very reasonable price online. Buy a couple of extra sets. Pickups are jazz bass style and config (two volumes + one tone) which is my pref. I had zero issues with tone or volume controls. Pickups are all passive. Yah! And tone sounds great, classic jazz bass tones available including a nice Jaco-ish tone with 100% bridge pickup and tone rolled way down. Be wary of review comments from guitar players that don't play bass and buy this bass and suddenly have a lot of opinions about what this bass should and shouldn't be. This bass does not need the bridge, pickups, tuners or electronics replaced to make it a "pro" instrument. All this bass needs to be a "pro" instrument, is a "pro" player playing it. Tone is in your fingers. I highly recommend for beginners and I think experienced players will dig it as well, especially those that appreciate shorter scale instruments.mark5211
Overall: We bought two of the Mikro guitars. A GRGM21 and a P.Gilbert Model. We expected at this price that some changes would be needed; and we were right. The nut has to be replaced. The original has so much wrong with it that I really don't want to type a paragraph explaining. It's made of bad material and you will never get to tune without replacing it. Consider the nut a "model" and there should be instructions with the guitar saying to replace it soon as poosible. There's gonna be some buzz from some high frets but that was an easy fix. There a a couple tricks to getting the intonation right but it can be done. (hint: move the saddles all the way forward) Hope this helped.

You get a 3/4 size acoustic guitar, of course, for the size. I already had the Yamaha APX500III which is a truly magnificent price-point instrument. The thinlne body moves you away from the bloat of a regular size dreadnought. All of the features of the larger brother are implemented in the APX Thinline 3/4: built-in tuner, volume and tone controls. The reason I wanted a comparable guitar in 3/4 size was to have it in my office nearby, ready to pick up at a moment's notice and for that it serves me perfectly. You can sit in an executive swivel chair and play this guitar comfortably. Do not delude yourself into thinking the big sound of the bigger thinline will transfer to the smaller guitar when play unamplified. When amplified the difference is slight. So now I have what I wanted – a quality price point smaller guitar that sits on a stand in easy reach for those moments when you need to reach out and find a way to explore a musical idea, run some scales, etc. Perfect solution!Jerry
Although I bought this guitar online from PMT (excellent service) I also posted a detailed review on Amazon UK where I also counselled against paying the stupid prices being charged by some of their affiliates. The PMT price was excellent. There were a few negatives with my guitar, all of which I was able to cure or tweak: the action was ridiculously high and until I altered the battery holder, the pickup and tuner wouldn't work. However, they were hopefully one-off problems. The guitar has far better tone that you might expect from an all-laminate guitar, especially if you play above the soundhole or at the end of the fretboard at around the 17th fret. Played with a hard pick it can sound a bit 'thin' but played with fingers or with a less aggressive 'attack' it has a really sweet sound. I am 75 with normally sized adult hands and do not find any problems with the fretting or scale length. Having made the adjustments, it's become my go-to acoustic guitar . . . and as I also have a GS Mini, that it is praise indeed. If you buy this guitar, I'd suggest changing the strings although the generic type which are fitted are OK. I changed them whilst shaving the saddle and fitted D'Addario 10's. This guitar is ideal for adult 'noodling' + a beginner of any age + a travel guitar. Funny thing about this world is that, a perfectly shaped, and sized acoustic guitar with modern electric pick-up and built-in tuner. The maker gives you a gigs bag, which is not much thicker than double bags from your local grocery store. And you must become religiously pious and pray that every time you go out of the door, that free gigs bag is gonna protect your $200 investment. I ended up purchased in extra, a Gator Hardshell case, GWE-acou 3/4. The case is still big, so I use some swimming noodles to pad up and cradle the guitar in full protection. The plush liner inside the hardshell case can be peeled up, so I can tuck in the noodles to form a snug fit. I also purchased an Amplifier, for practices and maybe buskering later. My setup of the case is not flight luggage safe, so if you are a frequent flyer, better ask nicely if you can give it to the cabin member to stow in the closet for you. I am personally happy with the sound range and volume, very little difference when compared with a full-sized guitar. The human comfort is better under your right elbow. The deal I got comes with a tuner, but the guitar already has a built-in unit running on 2 AA batteries. The free stand is ok.djadtoys

Great guitar. Unbelievable sound for this price range. You can distinctly hear each string ring out when you strike a chord. Rich, sweet, balanced and full. Great play-ability after a truss rod adjustment. I still need to lower the action at the saddle and nut another mm, but the action is super fast and easy as it is right now. The frets are well crowned and smooth. They aren't sharp, but they do protrude at the ends a bit. Filing them back won't be a big deal. Otherwise, fit and finish was perfect. I've owned a lot of acoustic guitars in various price ranges and the more I play this, the more impressed I am. I wouldn't hesitate to gig anywhere with this. I'm delighted. It's a keeper.c-cat1
I am a semi-pro musician with a guitar collection. I bought this for my daughter, a lefty, to learn on. There aren't many short scale, lefty acoustics on the market. I was skeptical with the low price, but this is an excellent guitar. Well built and looks good. Sounds very good for the price and the fact that it's a plywood top. Nut and saddle are a composite bone material (most cheap guitars come with awful plastic appointments). I would have to say that I was highly disappointed in this guitar set. I purchased one for my son as he is very interested in learning the guitar. It was purchased for his Christmas gift only to open it up on Christmas for it to not work at all. So we brushed it off and said “things happen.” We decided to purchase another one after having to explain to a 5 year old that he can’t play with his guitar on Christmas. Just received the second guitar only to find that it does not work either. I picked up the Surf Green Ltd Ed. Bullet Mustang a few days ago off the rack. They had two. One had rusty strings and sharp frets but the one I picked was almost perfect. These Mustangs are great for smaller learners and older guitarists that may enjoy the lighter string tension due to the short scale. I love the sound of both humbuckers. The bridge one gives you a nice grungy Nirvana like tone while the neck is smoother but both love to be driven. I picked up the Imperial Blue Mustang HH a few weeks ago. They both use the same humbuckers, The only difference I believe is the wood type, Basswood vs Poplar. Both guitars are quite light with the Basswood Surf Green one being somewhat lighter.These Mustangs are ideal for modding but for now I've only changed the cheap pickguard on this Surf Green one, putting a Tortoise Shell on it. So far I'm loving both of them and my Fender P90 Mustang is getting quite lonely.Tingman
First of all, this is a ton of value for the price. I got it on sale which made it even a bigger steal. Now, this guitar needs a lot of setup out of the box. You should polish the frets since they are as coarse as beach sand. Otherwise, string bends will be impossible and will most likely damage the cheap supplied strings (which should be changed immediately as with most new guitars). Expect some fret buzz, so be ready to adjust the saddles and the truss rod (I like my action quite low so this was a minor tweak for me). The intonation was actually quite close to perfect, it only needed a bit of tweaking on the A string. The nut and string trees are the ones you typically get on Squiers, which are good enough but won't do wonders for your tuning and should be replaced unless you are patient enough to tune your guitar every so often. Be sure to change these first before changing the tuners/bridge if you have tuning problems, I haven't changed the tuners or bridge on mine and don't plan to – they just work. Finally, the pickups are surprisingly good for the price, not too mellow and you can get some nice tones from the bridge pickup. You might soon outgrow them, though, and might opt for better humbuckers or P90s. For all these reasons, this guitar is not the best as a first guitar or for beginners unless it gets a proper setup first or if you're really planning to learn how to setup or change electronics/other parts in a guitar. However, those are the same reasons (plus the low price and simple design) that make this a really fun modding platform, and if you don't feel like modding it, with the right amount of work it's still amazing. It's light as a feather and the neck is very fast; you can probably muscle through hours of playing with barely any effort at all. The stock tones are reasonable enough, and in my opinion it looks awesome. You can't get a better deal for the money once you're aware of the above.Carlos, M
I like this guitar because of the 24" scale length. Everything else was pretty bad out of the box. The strings were a 1/4" off the fretboard. The fretboard was super dry. There was fret sprout. The frets felt like sandpaper on bends. The E strings are too close to the edge of the fretboard. When you play you're constantly hitting the pickup selector switch. The finish on the neck is supposed to be satin but it looks unfinished to me and there are light and dark areas on the neck which look bad. It is the worst finish on a neck I've ever seen on a guitar and I'm going to have to put some kind of finish on it. Trying to load strings is tricky and not as easy as on most other guitars you have to bend the end of the strings to get them to load. So that is the bad. The good? The tuners are your typical Chinese tuners that come on all cheap guitars these days, and they are fine. The pickups sound good. The 24" scale is great and really fun to play bends on!Steve

I bought this guitar used at GC. Looks great and sounds great. I brought it home and took it to my first gig with it. It kept going out of tune. I had new strings on it that I stretched out and it should of stayed in tune. The tuners on the headstock are bad. I couldn't find a set of locking tuners that would fit on this guitar without looking like a hack job. I brought it back to GC and got my money back. Honestly, Sire guitars come with locking tuners. The neck, despite a poly finish, is fast and slick and your hands won't stick to it. There were not fret spouts and no adjustments were needed. The pickups are powerful, yet very clean and makes it perfect to run effects through. The semi hollow body is much and light, and the guitar is not really that neck heavy. It's just a joy to play. It's now replacing my Nashville tele as my number one guitar. In fact, I loved it so much, I went out the following week and bought a second one. Don't let the name on the headstock fool you. I have played for 50 years. Have owned and traded all kinds of expensive Fender, GIbson, PRS, and boutique brands. All lovely guitars. Thought I would try a Pawn Shop weirdo a few years back and got a HH Strat made in Japan. Incredible. So I ventured further and got this HH Tele in natural. I can't say enough about how good it looks, sounds and plays. No string buzzing issues for me. Feels like the frets are rolled beautifully on the fretboard sides. I bought this guitar as a mod platform. As such, some of its stock faults, while present, simply don't matter. Top to bottom: Tuners suck, swapped them within hours. Nut is plastic, will replace with my first GraphTech nut. Neck is very thin, very nice. Frets are a mixed bag, as they may need very little leveling or polishing, but the fret ends are the sharpest I've ever seen! Pickups sound surprisingly good, though I'm only barely tempted to keep them. Bridge is maybe okay, swapped it first thing. I should mention that the stock bridge was decked. This is no problem with an old campaigner like me, but a beginner would have frustrating problems with it. This is my first guitar with a conical ("compound") fretboard radius! Never knew it could feel this good! If you're buying one for a rank beginner, either set aside money for a good setup or find your newb some good lessons in maintenance on YouTube.Edwin
Great guitar for under $200 , got this for reduced price because of very faint blemish on the back of the body. This is my second Jackson , also have the Rhoads JS32 V. Been wanting this one for a while , it sounds and plays great. The tuners are fine and I lowered the action to my liking and have no fret buzz , none on my other Jackson either. These are solid guitars and build is great for the price , they're comfortable to play especially with the thin necks. They come pretty well set-up right out of the box unlike others in the same price range , the JS22 is right up there with some of my more expensive guitars , great tone and sustain. I play for a hobby and have several guitars and this is up there with my Schecter and Ibanez , this is a great guitar for a beginner or experienced player and also a nice addition to your collection. I've bought other guitars in this price range that were a mess and needed a complete set-up , for the price you can't go wrong with Jackson!Mike G.
Overall: This guitar is a real sleeper. The neck is just so nice to play really amazing and it balances really well. I have two of them when I get them I just rip out the electronics and put all new stuff. They play great out of the box though and you could use to pick up some electronics that are in them until you decide to get better stuff. The fundamentals of the guitar are almost perfect something about the angled headstock make it so the strings have just the right amount of tension on them and it plays great. The downside of this is that it doesn't come back into tune as well as a strat style headstock but since I don't use the tremolo much or even at all sometimes this doesn't bother me. I love the caramelized Maple neck it has a great feel to it the other one I have is rosewood and it's also awesome.John

I have always wanted a Telecaster. This Squier Tele is the BEST brand new right out of the box guitar I have ever purchased. It's Incredible sounding and good playability. The neck and bridge pickup sound great. Not only do they sound great played in the just the neck or bridge position but together they compliment each other like no other guitar I own. This Squier has a black Nut that looks like it's made from Graphite. The Bridge is not a traditional Telebridge. It has 6 individual string saddles like a Strat. No Tremolo. The only thing I will upgrade on this guitar will be to Locking Tuners if I can find some with a set screw in the (four) eight o'clock position Don't let the "Squier name discourage you. Will a Higher priced Fender sound better than this entry level Squier?Jman
I purchased 4 Squiers over the past year, a surf green Bullet Tele, a butterscotch Bullet Tele with maple neck, a surf green Bullet Mustang and this sunburst Affinity Tele with maple neck. I had no problem setting up the 3 Bullets, the Mustang is the best but the butterscotch with 9s is a blast to play. This Affinity has been a major let down. After trying every trick in the book to get the high E string to stop sounding like a sitar, and fret buzz in odd spots all over the neck I'm at a point where it's going to need new parts and some serious surgery just to make it playable. That's a chance you take when buying a bulk guitar online, you get what you get.GrandpaPete
I purchased this guitar in hopes of getting an inexpensive tele sound for recording and for live audio. The guitar came quickly and upon initial inspection, I liked the guitar. The fretboard was smooth and I thought the playability would be great. However, upon plugging the guitar in, I noticed the pickups were likely not secured as the selector switch produced no tonal differences and the tone itself was buzzing and awful. Okay, that's frustrating but I can understand these things happen. When I called musicians friend customer service, they said they don't ship return boxes and that I would need to pay for a box to have it returned. That completely goes against what I believe principally. I would rather burn the guitar for firewood than pay nearly fifty usd for a box to return it at no fault of my own. I will not purchase from musicians friend again because of their lack of clarity on this issue. It appears most people have not had the same issues so this may not be a common experience, but why take a risk when they aren't willing to correct it.Owen

I've always wanted a PRS and now I have one it was worth the wait. The range of tones, the sensitivity of the controls, the playability are all top notch. Not to mention it looks stunning. Out of the box it was all nicely set up, low action and very very playable. I've switched from the stock 9s to 10s and it sounds perfect. I've never been one for coil taps…all the others I have stay firmly in humbucker territory but there's something about these which really work for me – putting one in coil tap and then switching to the middle position is a tone I've not had on any other guitar and one I shall be using a lot. This is the first prs I’ve ever owned and I have to say if this is the quality prs puts out for their SE line, I can only imagine how good the core models are! I mostly play heavier stuff (djent, deathcore, death metal, etc.) and with the right eq settings these pickups do just fine. But they really shine with lower gain and crunch scenarios. I love playing jazz or doing some chicken pickin with the multiple sounds you can get out of the wiring setup. Superrrr versatile, very well built for an Indo guitar. My only complaint is the glossy neck, since I mostly play leads. But that can be solved fairly easily. It’s an easy guitar to play and it plays like butter. Stays in good tune even with whammy abuse. No sharp fret ends, fret buzz, high action, bad intonation etc. played great out of the box with a tuning. Now the only thing I would “upgrade” on this guitar are the tuners to locking tuners. I purchased this guitar for my teenage son who has just started to play, so I wanted a budget guitar. The sound is really great and I'm very impressed with both the quality and aesthetics of the guitar. Delivery was efficient and within the estimated date of delivery, which having read other reviews I was expecting it to be later. The item was very well packaged and I was sent the tracking details for DHL and then for Parcelforce once the guitar had made it to the UK. I can recommend using this company based on my experience and this guitar.
Overall: I read some of these negative reviews and can't understand what they're talking about. This guitar is probably the best guitar for $200 I ever played , right out of the box it was setup perfectly. All I did was tune it , I've even got the same strings it came with. Which I normally change whenever I get a new guitar. The tuners are unbelievably tight , this guitar barely goes out of tune even if it has been sitting for weeks. Also I never attached the whammy bar , so I can't speak on that throwing it out of tune. Since I have over a dozen guitars I don't usually play it daily , but when I do it always makes me glad I purchased it. This is a very versatile guitar , I play mostly metal and this thing shreds. But I also play blues and it sounds just as good as my custom strat. I bought an Epiphone SG special in the same price range and let's just say the setup is night and day , the tuners absolutely sucked , "already replaced them" and the intonation was off. It was a mess , I've already put it on Craig's list and bought a G400 Pro instead , 10x better quality and setup , but I digress. I've got many high priced guitars but always go back to the GRX , the playability and neck feels so comfortable to play. The only thing I'm going to do eventually is throw in a Seymour Duncan humbucker and I'm definitely keeping this guitar. I don't know how Ibanez can sell this for $200 and keep the quality , but I'm certainly not going to complain. Whether you're a beginner or experienced this guitar delivers. Definitely will be purchasing another Ibanez down the road.Mike
Sound: Does not have the cleanest sound due to the picks. Putting the right pedals and effects in line and cranking up the distortion makes it an awesome beginner / intermediate metal guitar. Features: For the price the materials feel great. Ease of Use: It sounds great on my Fender Champion 20 or Positive Grid Spark amp. Not the cleanest tone but a great metal sound and extremely easy to play. Quality: It feels made well, especially in the $200 range. I feel like this is one I'll have for years and once I get better definitely see this is a good platform for future mods. Value: This guitar is excellent value and at this price an amazing guitar. Manufacturer Support: I have not dealt with Ibanez. The Wow Factor: I must admit the aesthetic. It's extremely hard to find good looking purple color-based guitars. If I could dream up what I want a guitar to look like this is it. It helps that its quality is awesome. Overall: I love this guitar. Purple is my favorite color and a hard one to find good guitars in. It looks great. It feels great and I have yet to find any significant issues with it. No problems with the frets or fret buzz. Action is easy and low. It sounds great with my Positive Grid Spark amp. The pickups sound great. The HSH setup is very versatile. Not the greatest with clean tones like my Stratocaster, but amazing with the right effects.Josh

…so I purchased this as an alternative to my acoustic guitar. The 1st thing I noticed is how light it was. The maple neck was a different feel and gave me more accessibility to the frets. Once I got the guitar in tune I was surprised how nice it sounds. The amp is not the best, but if you don't have one, you won't notice. Overall I like this guitar. Thank you Fender for making an affordable electric guitar. I would get this again for a beginner. As I progress, this guitar is pushing me to upgrade to another Fender. It's that good. I have always been pleasantly surprised at the quality of these cheaper Squier Affinity and other similarly priced Squier guitars. I have played Squiers for decades, including jazz basses, Teles, and of course this Stratocaster. It plays as well as a guitar can play. It looks absolutely gorgeous. It sounds like any much higher priced Strats and the humbucker is a great go-to for playing leads without having to have a pedal boost or having to go to the amp controls for boost. It set up as well as any Fender I have worked on and I have worked on quite a few over the years. I would not hesitate to use this guitar on any stage or in any studio production.
