Schecter t s/h-12 with hard case. excellent condition. one tiny ding along the side. this is a really gorgeous-sounding guitar with a lot of options, one of the best pseudo-rickenbackers ever produced. volume and tone knobs for both pickups, and an extra 2-way switch to make it single-coil. the "lipstick-bucker" pickups have a really great sharp high-end tone. beautiful color.this sounds like a dream, looks like a dream hanging on the wall. i wanted one for years, but now that i have it, i don't really have any project that needs a 12-string! better it goes to someone who has more use for it.

Never ever thought I'd own a Schecter. I always saw them as reserved for metal players, and I play alt.country. Saw this strange love child of a Rickenbacker and a Gretsch at the local candy store and had to try her out. Fit and finish are awesome. The retro look combines with a sort of psychedelic twistedness that makes the guitar fit in with my shows. Reverse sunburst?!? Yep. Droopy wing on the cutaway?!? Sure nuff cool. But the best part is how nicely the neck plays and how those humbuckers growl and bite. Hit the tap and sound like Luther from Johnny Cash's band. Hit it again and you're playing screaming leads. I purchased the TSH-1 (red) after a friend had told me that he had bought a Schecter and couldn't believe the quality for the price. He's more "shredder" than I, but I decided to check out Schecter and ran across the "retro" line. After digging through the models and various reviews I came to Musician's Friend to make the purchase. Service and packing were outstanding. I unpacked this thing and wow. Absolutely stunning guitar. Pictures on the web misrepresent the color making it look too red. It is really a deep, almost oxblood/ candy apple red to black burst. My friend was right: Fit, finish, and all around quality rivals the biggest brands. I can say that with confidence having sold a Gibson ES-335 a month ago. Nice guitar, but not for the price. So, yes. I replaced a high end Gibson with a much less expensive Schecter and couldn't be more happy that I did. Go watch the videos on you tube, the TSH sounds great, plays wonderfully, and looks freakin' amazing. Pardon me while I go spend the rest of my 335 money on more Schecter guitars.SchecterLove

The guitar is very well built along with a great design for a semi hollow body guitar. Easy to play. And comes set up much better than epiphone & Ibanez guitars. Having relatively recently started learning guitar on an electric stratocaster-style guitar this was a great transition to the acoustic segment. The thinner body makes it much more comfortable to play than say a dreadnought and the neck is comfortable to transition too, yet the guitar doesn't seem to sacrifice as much sound as you'd expect from a thinner guitar. The finish of the guitar is that of a more expensive guitar for example the rosewood finger board. On arrival I actually thought the guitar looked better than the pictures on the website suggest but do note that because of the finish it is prone to showing finger marks which would need cleaning time to time. After suffering a permanent back injury I could no longer play my elictric guitar as it was too heavy or my acoustic electric guitar because it felt like it was twice it's normal size because I could no longer find a comfortable position for myself to play it. I bought a keyboard thinking that I could still play music. Afterv two weeks of playing around with the keyboard I gave up pllaying. Then I saw on the internet one night an advertisement for a 3/4 size Yamaha acoustic electric guitar guitar with a slimline bosy which looked like a nice guitar so I checked out males and females playing it and sounded very nice so I bought one. Man am I'm so glad I did. I got the sunburst like this one on sale. I was excited as l took it out of the box and went straight to my mancave and started playing it. It was perfecty in tune and for a guitar of this size it's got such a beautiful tone playing ACOUSTIC. So I plugged it in and it's as good as it sounded on YouTube. As an 67 yesr old man who started playing guitar when I was 16 years old, this is a beauty. The only thing I'm not entirely happy with is the action. It's just a little too high. Other than that, I love it. It's a very nice looking acoustic for the money. It stays in tune extremely well and I was shocked at how full the sound was even with such a thin body. Sounds even better plugged in. The thinner body is super comfortable to handle and hold. It makes the transition from electric to acoustic very easy. The built in tuner is one of my favorite features. It works great and seems to be as accurate as any other tuner I've ever used. Overall, I would recommend this acoustic to anyone on a budget looking for a great sounding and feeling acoustic who doesn't mind the action a little on the higher side. (Side Note – I might be too critical on the action since I'm used to my electrics set up for such low action.)

I always read as many reviews as I can before purchasing an instrument unseen. This particular guitar had mostly good reviews. I was trying to find a good 12 string for not a lot of money. A unicorn essentially. I had narrowed my search to Luna and Washburn. I decided on the Luna and it was a tremendous mistake. This guitar, or at least the one that I received is virtually unplayable. Tuned to pitch the bridge has a slight enough gap from the body of the top of the guitar that you can just slip a thin piece of paper under. Visible bowing of the top. It does however stay in tune but the action is quite high and you almost need a C-clamp to bar chord it. Very VERY tough to play up the neck. It is a beautiful guitar aesthetically but upon close inspection there are several small fibers or possible hair of some sort in the finish in a few places.All in all not a good choice. I would recommend looking elsewhere for a 12 string. I'm an experienced musician with over 48 years of professional and semi professional experience. I would definitely not purchase this instrument again. Fire wood kindling would be it's best use now.Jeff
The Luna Heartsong 12 string is a comfortable guitar to play. I'm replacing a Ovation 12 from 1974 that I bought new and enjoyed for many years but the neck finally gave up. The Luna body size is smaller than a dreadnaught but fits nicely in your lap. It has really nice upper and middle range but the lower range is a little weak unless you plug it up through an amp and boost it. Then it sounds much like the folk guitars of the 60's. I tuned it up to standard tune and the neck had a slight bend at the 7th fret and the action was high by the time you got up to the 12th fret. So I tuned it down a full step and it straightened right out and the action went back down to a good level for a 12 string. Just capo it up and you get good normal sound and action level. The wood is good throughout and the craftsmanship is more than adequate for the cost of the instrument. The volume is good for a smaller guitar body. It won't overpower a D-28 but I really didn't expect that. The sustain is good and harmonics chime nicely. In summary, it's a great guitar for the money I paid. I also have a Luna Vista Eagle and really enjoy the sound of Luna's. They won't put Martin out of business, but the impact on the bank account is proportionally less. I am a 50+ year picker and used to play in bands and at church, but now it's just around the house for fun and therapy. I'm happy with the value I got for the amount of money I paid.Warren
This is the 2nd 12 string i have owned. The first was a D12-35 Brazilian 1970. After letting it sit 24 hrs tuned,intonation perfect. Low action Daddario acoustic bronze down to 10. Very easy playing. The quality of this guitar for the price! Don't hestiate to get this twelve string.

I've been a D'addario guy for a long time, and use them on all my guitars. I like the phosphor bronze tone on my acoustics, and use the extra lights because I have hand and finger joint issues. Actually 10s are pretty heavy for me, I use 8s on my electrics. Anyway, they sound great, are easy to play and have always been reliable for me.James
For years I refused to replace one of the low E machines on my Guild 12-string, as much on principle as anything else. I could only find a full set when I only needed one. The folks at Sam Ash knew my feeling and enthusiastically referred me back to the shop. Not only did I get a single machine, the price was more than right. A friend of mine put light gauge electric strings on his acoustic guitar so it would be easier to play. I did like the feel but the sound was too thin so when I came across the Extra Light D'Addario's for acoustics I was excited to try them. My preferred style of playing an acoustic has recently become almost all finger-picking without finger picks. I tried them on my vintage classic dreadnought Yamaha F335ii and they sound good with a little less low end and a little more thin high end which you would expect. Also there is a tendency for the little E string to rattle as I use an upward stroke with the index or middle finger to play it. I will try switching that string out with a little higher gauge to alleviate that problem. Your style (light or heavy) of playing may determine whether these strings are right for you. They are great for strumming light rhythm with a balanced bright sound using a Fender thin pick so I would definitely use them for recording rhythm parts. For recording finger-picked parts I will continue using regular light gauge strings on a Martin. The D'Addario extra lights are easy on the fingers and good for practicing any style. Overall: Wow. Just wow. When I heard about this guitar as it first released, I was excited because I'm pretty loyal to Schecter, already having a few of their Hellraiser 7 strings in my collection. Availability on it was limited to completely zero, though, but eventually, one popped up here and I jumped on it. Glad I did. It is absolutely amazing. Plays like a dream right out of the box, looks and sounds incredible. Schecter sets the bar SUPER high, as always. Cost wise, this thing is on part with instruments at least triple it's price tag. As a metal/jazz/neo-classical guy looking to move into more acoustic spaces, this is perfect. An absolute dream.
I recently took delivery of an open box "condition level 2" Schecter Orleans Stage Acoustic/electric guitar from MF. I can't find a ding, a nick or a scratch anywhere on it. The only negative I can find are a few rust spots on the strings. Even the action if set very good. I cannot imagine what the person who returned this guitar was looking for that they had to return this one? In my time I've owned and played a Martin D18, Taylor Grand Pacific, Larrivee L-03 and over a half dozen other of various brands and prices. This mid price half-a-grand guitar hangs with and in some cases surpasses the big dogs from the big names! The vampyre red is a very beautiful, deep red. And it great flame on the maple back. Size is GA and very comfortable. Upper fret access is good too. The guitar sounds great with good projection acoustically, and is even better plugged into a Yamaha TRC desk-top amp. I was concerned with the maple back & sides making it too bright, but the tones are really just perfect. Nice lows, mids & trebles across the spectrum. And the best part is the neck. I don't have big, meaty hands and with this one some of the chords I've struggled with and also some barre chords come easy! EASY! I have a Schecter electric and it's a keeper…I just didn't even know Schecter built acoustics but I do now and can't wait to try the Orleans Studio w/ the cedar top or maybe the 7 & 12 string Stage models. Bottom line, I can't see how anyone would not be fully impressed with this fine instrument.AK-J
For the price this guitar sounds amazing. The neck and action come perfect right out of the box. Its super comfortable to play. It looks great too. At the price this guitar is amazing! I recommend some DR Veritas strings. The one down side although super minor is the strap button on the button is also the input jack, my first acoustic electric idk if this is standard. But it makes putting a strap lock on super hard and annoying. Schecter is known for their amazing electric guitars but i can assure this acoustic is well worth the money and an amazing instrument.Matt C.

I was very excited to see and play a highly reviewed 12 string that costs pennies compared to my 12 string Takamine, Yamaha and Ibanez. Once I got through the box I saw the guitar had the look of some cheap pressed wood. The sound was as weak as a cup of Finnish coffee. The darn thing couldn't stay in tune to save mine or its life. How this guitar gets rated so highly MUST be a result of fake reviewers OR I simply got the ONE Rogue 12 string that seemed to be made by the Fisher-Price Company. This is NOT a musical instrument. It IS an instrument to make noise with. My edition was not worthy of the effort one has to put forward to learn and play guitar. One must have to have an instrument meet the musician at least half-way. With this "musical" instrument, you have to cross the block, pick the guitar up and fight against it to produce close to a tone that sounds musical. Best to buy a used good name 12 string guitar. Or save your pennies and get a Takamine or Yamaha. The latter will be excellent and cost in the $350 range. But a Yamaha will play forever and stay in tune. I recommend my Yamaha over my ash Ibanez. The former just has a fuller tone. If possible save for the Takamine which is on another guitar plane altogether. But don't buy a guitar based on price and/or name. I've discovered many of the friends I play with can't tell if their singing and/or playing is in tune!!. And yet, they own $5,000 MARTIN GUITARS!! Haha. Quite simply a waste of money. Be like me buying a red-green "masterpiece" oil painting, as I'm red-green color blind. But I DO have a good ear and this Rogue of a guitar is worthy of no one's money or effort. Purchased this around December hoping to get my kids into it. As usually happens, it ended up being much more of a display use. I would imagine it was picked up about 12 times max total. It sat on display being ignored primarily. Still, by mid-June (in under 6 months) the bridge has warped and started to detach from the main guitar. I noticed this as I walked past it. The glue did not hold. Surprise though, because you can't just pull up a website for Rogue. I called Guitar Center for help to contact the manufacturer as this should be covered under their warranty. Guitar cCenter took my information and said they would forward it to their "contact" for the company and I should receive a response in 3-5 business days. It's been a few weeks now and I'm not impressed. No one called me back, they wouldn't simply give me an 800 number to call to handle it myself, and I still have no solution and no idea who to contact in order to make a claim on the manufacturer warranty. I am more than disappointed with Guitar Center's negligence to truly stand behind a beginner product they seem to offer a great deal of.Amanda V.
I'm so impressed by my RD 90. I think some reviewers are hesitant to give it the praise it deserves because it is an inexpensive guitar. I did a little work to lower the action and now it is perfect. Humidity and temperature changes cause it to need occasional tuning, no different that my other two acoustics. It has a full, rich tone. It plays easily. It makes me feel like I got a real bargain; I don't know how they turn a profit at this price.Charles

In my search for an all around hollow body I tried the Gretsch Streamliner G2420 .My first impression was this can't be. The guitar had a great feel and tone. The string action was low with no buzzes or rattles and was easy to finger. Before this I tried the other popular and well known hollow and semi hollow body brands ,in this price range and more. None of them compared to this Gretsch G2420..If set up right and no flaws in this guitar, you could have an archtop that's comparable to other more expensive hollow bodies. There were a few cons. Couple of frets had sharp edges.Was not a real problem and I felt this could be correct by myself with the correct file. Also the Volume and tone pods have a lot of play in them. Not crazy about them, but most likely can get use to them. The Pros are this guitar feels great. And.the tone is good for Jazz , Smooth Jazz and other styles.Do not hesitate to give one a try. I think you will be pleased that you did.samual
This was an impulse purchase as I had always wanted a Gretsch, and now that they are affordable to the ordinary man, I thought "why not". The guitar arrived in perfect condition, perfectly set up from the factory and played beautifully, although I did find that the strings were a bit too close together over the first 5 frets for my fingers, which are by no means fat. It was even in tune!!! This is a stunning looking hollow body guitar, but the acoustic sound is a bit weedy. The plugged in sound is fine from the two humbuckers, but fairly mild. The tailpiece is a bit flimsy. You can easily distort it with your hand. My main issues were to do with the controls. The knobs are quite plain, with no arrows or numerical markings making it impossible to know what they are set at without twiddling, not ideal for live performance but ok I suppose if you are a bedroom player (which I am not). Also, the master volume goes from virtually nothing to full on in about a quarter of a turn. In the end, I reluctantly sent it back and received a full refund. Well done GAK!Steve
A guitar this good should not be this reasonably priced. Moreover, a GRETSCH should not be this affordable, but here we are and I could not be happier. I am, historically, a bassist. This Gretsch G2420 in Village Amber is my first six-string purchase in over 15 years. The problem is that now, every other guitar is going to have to match this incredibly high standard. I love the binding on the body. The laminated Maple body is first-rate with a beautiful glossy finish. I also LOVE the inlaid fret markers. The sound is absolutely Gretsch, just what I wanted. If you are thinking about getting one of these, stop thinking and start buying! I am sure you will love it at much as I do.Jeremy C.

Overall: I read some of these negative reviews and can't understand what they're talking about. This guitar is probably the best guitar for $200 I ever played , right out of the box it was setup perfectly. All I did was tune it , I've even got the same strings it came with. Which I normally change whenever I get a new guitar. The tuners are unbelievably tight , this guitar barely goes out of tune even if it has been sitting for weeks. Also I never attached the whammy bar , so I can't speak on that throwing it out of tune. Since I have over a dozen guitars I don't usually play it daily , but when I do it always makes me glad I purchased it. This is a very versatile guitar , I play mostly metal and this thing shreds. But I also play blues and it sounds just as good as my custom strat. I bought an Epiphone SG special in the same price range and let's just say the setup is night and day , the tuners absolutely sucked , "already replaced them" and the intonation was off. It was a mess , I've already put it on Craig's list and bought a G400 Pro instead , 10x better quality and setup , but I digress. I've got many high priced guitars but always go back to the GRX , the playability and neck feels so comfortable to play. The only thing I'm going to do eventually is throw in a Seymour Duncan humbucker and I'm definitely keeping this guitar. I don't know how Ibanez can sell this for $200 and keep the quality , but I'm certainly not going to complain. Whether you're a beginner or experienced this guitar delivers. Definitely will be purchasing another Ibanez down the road.Mike
I read a lot of reviews on this guitar before purchasing. Most common complaints revolved around tuning stability. I was expecting mine to go out of tune every 2 minutes. Not my experience at all. It seems to be strung with 10's, and holds tuning very well. Pick ups sound warm and tight. When I eventually upgrade I'll probably do the nut and tuners, but those are by no means urgent. There are so minor finish flaws, but i bought this guitar to play, not to stare at it. For less than £200, you really can't go wrong. Delivery was on time and without hassle.Ben A.
Sound: Does not have the cleanest sound due to the picks. Putting the right pedals and effects in line and cranking up the distortion makes it an awesome beginner / intermediate metal guitar. Features: For the price the materials feel great. Ease of Use: It sounds great on my Fender Champion 20 or Positive Grid Spark amp. Not the cleanest tone but a great metal sound and extremely easy to play. Quality: It feels made well, especially in the $200 range. I feel like this is one I'll have for years and once I get better definitely see this is a good platform for future mods. Value: This guitar is excellent value and at this price an amazing guitar. Manufacturer Support: I have not dealt with Ibanez. The Wow Factor: I must admit the aesthetic. It's extremely hard to find good looking purple color-based guitars. If I could dream up what I want a guitar to look like this is it. It helps that its quality is awesome. Overall: I love this guitar. Purple is my favorite color and a hard one to find good guitars in. It looks great. It feels great and I have yet to find any significant issues with it. No problems with the frets or fret buzz. Action is easy and low. It sounds great with my Positive Grid Spark amp. The pickups sound great. The HSH setup is very versatile. I bought this Gretsch 2622 streamliner from Blake Rice at Sweetwater and I couldn't be more happy! Every once in a while, you pick up a guitar that immediately feels like an extension of your body; this is that guitar! It plays so easy and sounds great through both solid state and tubed amps. The quality and construction on this guitar is excellent. The binding looks amazing around the edges with zero flaws. The wood is beautiful and the lacquer has zero drips or flaws. Over seas produced guitars have really come a long way in the last 20 years. The electronics are quiet with zero hum. Pots are very smooth and the humbuckers have a wide range of tones. This has instantly become my favorite guitar! Blake Rice and the team at Sweetwater provide unparalleled service. Communication is prompt and often. I love getting photos of my guitars before it ships. The 55 point inspection is GREAT! The guitar comes ready to play out of the box. It even remained in tune, which is amazing. The service keeps me coming back!
I picked this guitar up when I was in my local Guitar Center selling some gear that I didn't have a use for. I had been looking at this guitar for a while, and it was on sale, so I snagged it. I have always loved the way a Gretsch plays and sounds, and it's a beautiful guitar. I have played it through many different amps and effects, and this guitar always sounds great. Right from the display it plays great, but having it professionally set up will make a difference. That said, I have zero complaints about how it played or sounded with out any modifications or adjustments. It has quickly become one of my favorite guitars in my arsenal, and it's almost always the first guitar I pick up when I'm sitting down to write. For the price, it's a hard guitar to beat.Jeffrey
Wanted something like this with a slimmer neck for a while. Delighted with the guitar, a breeze to play, the setup is excellent and you get lots of power from this version of the humbuckers. Finish is not perfect on the binding- a smudged neck marker and a small line near the headstock. But at the price plus a proper set up – no complaints. The plastic is off and I am keeping it!

Overall: The fit and finish on this Mexican-made guitar is terrible! The cheaper Indonesian-made version I have is much much better. Fender should be ashamed of themselves for turning out product like this. The frets are not finished on either edge. They'll cut you if you're not careful. The binding on the lower bout is much wider than on the upper bout. The toggle switch is noisy, doesn't engage well, and is cheap feeling. The intonation setup on arrival was not only severely off on the lower strings, but required moving to the alternate saddle screw location on the Floyd bridge. I have other Mexican-made instruments as well. They are all substandard, but this one is the worst. Cannot recommend any Mexican-made Fender instruments.
This is one of the better guitars I've played in my life. Right out of the box it was intonated perfectly but needed to be tuned. If you haven't used a D-Tuna before (like me), I highly recommend looking up a video on how to properly tune it. Having owned floating floyd rose bridge guitars before, I expected tuning to be a hassle. But to my surprise, it tuned just like a regular guitar and I barely had to use the fine tuning pegs. My only problem that I've adjusted to my comfort would be the tension on the bridge was a bit too much for me, removing the cover on the back and taking out one of the springs fixed this problem for me. But everything else is perfect, you're getting the sound of a Les Paul in a strat style body. It's hard to not want to play this guitar. The neck is the smoothest I've ever played, it's finely sanded down and just feels like butter. The gloss black body is also stunning to look at, but keep a cloth around because it's a finger print magnet. If you're a fan of EVH or looking for a good hybrid between Fender and Gibson, this is the guitar for you.Glenn
Fantastic and great looking guitar but the lack of "strat contours" on the Specials has me returning it and getting EVH Standards. I knew they laced the contours when I purchased but I really wanted to love this guitar. Love the feel of the neck and the sound of the pickups. Recessed Floyd in the arched top is too clunky sounding landing back on the top. Pickup selector is noisy, not the electronic sound but the actual clicking sound when going into the middle position. Those two things could just be my guitar and might have a remedy. Ultimately returning because, the non contour (non-strat) shape of the Special is uncomfortable at my chest and forearm when sitting. Just my preference, a lot of guitars lack the contours. Bought two Standards (Bomber Black and Transparent Amber) and love every thing about them.Patrick

I sat down tried all of the Ibanez, D'Angelico, Epi, and Gretsch's from $400-1k and walked out with this one. If buying online please read… The frets are not medium jumbo… more like vintage medium, they are thinner and shorter than a typical medium jumbo. Also the neck profile in the hand is a tad thicker than an Epi 335 and also a bit narrower… closer to my LP with a 50's neck… which for my hand was perfect and why I chose this over the Epi's/D'Angelico's. I will say all of the Streamliner Gretsch's in the store played well. You can tell the guitars were set up nicely prior to shipping and came out of the box that way. I was able to grab a new in box from the back of the store and the setup was great. No fretwork needed at all… which is something I RARELY see in the sub 1k price point. Tuners are die-cast nickle but they are smooth as can be and do not feel the need to change. Pickups sound good to me as well. The neck is very Jazzy and soft and the bridge has some bite but in the upper-mids, not ice-picky, and cuts well. Because they are standard humbucker size, replacement options are plenty. In order to make this guitar stay in tune with the Bigsby, you'll need to work that spring in a little and do some work and lubing the saddles and nut. Not a knock, just a warning if this is your first Bigsby bridged guitar. All in all a great playing guitar with a good size and comfortable neck with room to grow/upgrade if you feel the need. I was looking for a semi-hollow with Bigsby preferably to add to the collection, and this fit the bill perfectly. Plenty of that Gretsch vibe and at no point does it look like nor do I feel like I am playing a cheap guitar… Which is what ultimately drove me away from the Ibanez's in this price point.JJ in SC
Great guitar for the money. Bigsby included. The Torino Green is a great colour and at night or in the shade the guitar looks like black on black, with the pick guard standing out. All the trim is immaculate, though the machine heads are not the best and may need changing out for stability of tuning. The setup is pretty damn good straight out the box though I adjusted the string height to lower the action and checked the intonation which is all quite easy with a small screw driver. The playability is great though one needs to go easy on the strings when playing chords so as to not unintentionally bend them out of tune (Typical for a Bigsby setup). But, as I got this guitar more for playing leads and melodies this is not an issue and will facilitate ease of bending. All in all, a great guitar that looks great, feels great and sounds great, at a pretty unbelievable price. Well done Gretsch.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
Guitar came set up great for my playing feel. The neck shape feels really comfortable for my hand, with great playability up and down the neck. I typically practice at home on the couch with no amp, and the acoustic sound is great, and quiet enough to not bother my wife. I have been a Strat player for a long time, and wanted a guitar with a different sound for some of the different bands I play with. This guitar does a good job of taking me out of my "comfort" zone. I typically play pretty hard with a heavy pick for solos, and thus can break strings more than I would like. That being said, this is not a good guitar to have a string break on , as changing a string on a gig with this Bigsby is quite a challenge to do quickly . The Mosaic pedal is easy to use, and produces a realistic 12 string effect. It comes with it's own power supply, and I recommend using it as it seems to use quite a lot of energy to produce the effect. When I first connected it in my chain, powered by the wimpy Snark power supply, it didn't really work. The light came on when I pressed the on/off button, but the effect wasn't happening. Then I used the power supply that came with it. Suddenly, out came the shimmering sound of an electric 12 string. In short, it might not sound like a Rickenbacker, but its close enough, and much less expensive. If you want the sound of a 12 string, but don't want to spend the money, this may be the perfect substitute.jonaha650
Overall: Ive been using my Roland Gr-55 (w/ GK-3) to add 12 string shimmer to my sound for years. This little box is amazing! Tracking is impeccable, and the controls are so simple I was up and running within seconds! The metal box is sturdily built, and COMES with a muscular 9v, 1.3amp power supply(?!?!) Switching is silent, and the effect tracks tonal changes between pickups well enough that once dialed in, I dont need to touch the tone knob. If I get insanely picky, I kinda wish there was a separate out for the 12string sound, but that would negatively affect the affordable price and kind of defeat the 1 pedal= 2 instrument simplicity. I have both a 6 string and 12 string Rickenbacker. I don't normally like to take my 12 string gigging because I've got enough other gear to haul around and the 12 string is only used on a few songs. Plus all the associated issues with tuning, string replacement, swapping guitars, etc. The Mosaic does a pretty credible job of making my six string sound like a 12 string. It does not produce a perfect reproduction, but I find it good enough that I'm using it regularly. Considering the technology needed to generate the 12 string sound from a six string instrument, I'm actually very impressed that it does a good a job as it does. And the fact that it is polyphonic is icing on the cake. I've used electronic harmonizers to try and duplicate a 12 string sound, but they always failed in two areas. You could not play chords and the high B and E strings sounded just awful because the harmonizer would try and play notes an octave above on those strings as well (usually rendering this approach useless).. I found that the Mosaic gives a pretty credible 12 string reproduction on the E, A, D, and G strings. Fortunately the upper B and E strings do not get the octave treatment. They remain with the original pitch, but they don't quite have the full tonal resonance of a true 12 string. It isn't bad, just not quite perfect. All in all, I feel its a good product, does a good enough job and I'm happy with the 12 string emulation. I think its a credible option to consider if you need a 12 string sound, but can't justify the cost and issues of owning a true 12 string.bgb92549

Overall: Having had a Peavey Wolfgang and an Evh Wolfgang when they first came out, I knew I loved the hardware and the neck so I figured this would be the same with a new look. With the addition of a kill switch, I figured this would be a perfect guitar for many styles. I knew I would want to put it through my tremonti MT15, Mesa road king, Mesa tremoverb, orange Micro Terror and Yamaha THR5 to see which styles this is suited for and which it is not.Right off the bat I was very happy with how the matte finish felt. The neck is incredible as well, as I expected. And having spent a lifetime of using the volume knob go from clean to dirty as Eddie did I appreciated the volume knob being so easy to turn.I was very happy with the sound of the pickups. I know that Eddie has been through many pickups throughout the years. These are very good, and seem to work well for everything. Not too hot and just the right bit of midrange. Nitpicks are that it doesn’t come with a bag or case. And Eddie liked the pickup selector reversed, which this one does not. But that is a small fix. And something about the finish just looks cheap. Maybe that is just something to do with the purple daze finish….
Very impressed with this guitar. The neck has a great feel and well set-up for playing fast and note bends, especially in the upper register. Sustain is impressive for a sub £1k guitar and there is probably enough grunt from the factory pickups for most players. The low friction volume and high friction tone are a nice thing to have and am considering adapting my other working guitars with this. Using the D-Tuna was a learning curve as you can't use the fine tuner once set at drop D (well, you can tweak the tuning on the D-Tuna itself once set in the standard tuning position). If you don't fancy using it you can always swap it out with the supplied kit. The kill button is fun and I'm sure I'll get good use of it in time but I do keep brushing it when hammering out funk rhythms. Possibly due to my large hands but worth noting that if you splay you strumming hand when playing, you may end up with a scuff bruise or two. Great guitar. Plays like butter. My biggest problem is that the Floyd Rose bridge goes out of tune every time I use the tremolo ( actually comes out of the body). Even with me buying the protection plan I keep getting told that my only option is to pay more money and get the bridge replaced and re-setup. Very disappointed with this whole experience.Kevin

I play solo fingerstyle guitar and this capo makes it so easy to play the chords and melody at the same time. The key of D is very friendly to playing the melody of a lot of songs over the chords but you need that low root note. You can use drop D tuning but that takes away your normal G chord and kind of messes things up with scales and chords. This capo make it so easy plus it's quick to take off and go back to standard tuning. I love it and I've been using it for years.Josh
I wish I would have gotten one of these sooner. Drop d without the rethinking of the fret board. Also works great with the shortcut capo for "no tuner turning" tunings all up the neck. Bridge pickup: fat and loud. This produces a very noisy rock/metal sound that fits perfectly for bands such as Rage Against The Machine and Black Sabbath. No hiss and very useable. Middle pickup: Clear. Essentially the acoustic sounding pickup. Very very effective for chordal work. Sounds great for acoustic work such as certain Babyshambles, Libertines, Oasis and the like. Does get a hiss occasionally, but not too huge. Probably isn't aided by my old amp. Neck pickup: bright. Extremely sweet sounding pickup for solo work beyond the 12th fret. It does sound a little muddy playing 1-5th frets on occasion, but the tone and sound at the other end of the neck is beautiful. Sounds fantastic playing Hendrix, Kravitz and solo's from Strokes etc. Have also used it to good effect on some Clapton tracks. There is the option to mix pickups (such as half neck humbucker, half single pickup) but I generally find these too weak and in-distinctive to be used effectively.
the part where subjectivity kicks in (have you noticed how "objective" this review was from the get-go? ). The styles of music I play, as I mentioned earlier, are mostly the Metal subgenres, with an occasional pull of a bluesish pentatonic. To me, this guitar fills every need I might have concerning any and all "heavy" music. It simply molds itself to any need I might have, and fills it in style. Sure, I DO have that Peavey Raptor as well, using it as a practice guitar, but the GRG will remain foremost. If I had had a question to ask before I'd bought it, then that question would irreversibly be: "Does it come as a "2 for 1" special?"… and if it were – forbidden be the thought – lost; or worse – stolen, then I'd definitely get another one. Simply put, this is my guitar. What I love most about it is it's demeanor. I compared it to the Raptor: whilst the latter is an extremely comfortable guitar, quite literally screaming "play me!" (I don't speak "guitar", though, sadly), the Ibanez stands firm, proud and distinguished, with a superior look on it's face; It took me a while before I could subdue and befriend it, unlike the Peavey's "I go with anyone" attitude. Yet that's what the beauty of taming is all about. What do I hate about it? Possibly everything, possibly nothing. But the thing that ticks my nerves, still, is the aforementioned buzzing frets (though, I reiterate, that is not a fault of the builder). And, lastly, my favourite feature of the guitar is, as you might not have guessed, the neck. 24 medium frets of sizzling speed, Ultra-fast picking and high screams, on a fast and responsive neck. That is, ultimately, what the GRG 170 is all about. Versatility and adaptability, all with an affordable price tag.
Getting used to the extra 2 strings, which is a little awkward. And the fanned frets is something new too. It's kind of like learning the basics of swimming, then decide to try the diving board. LOL. I'm cool with that, as it saves me from buying a bunch of guitars along the way to be comfortable with this concept. These are for you if you tune lower than D or even C, their loud , their built to last , their cheap and yet at the same time the new string sound doesn't go away. D'Addario have been around this long for a reason. If you're new to 12-52 strings these are a great first set. Well first lets focus on the gauge as it is features, the thicker the string the longer it stays in tune and the louder and stronger the strings are. If you want to tune below D these are for you, you can get all the way down to open B or lower depending on your style. Not a huge jump from regular strings either so you won't have any problems adapting to them. Well the new string sound stays longer than most brands I've tried compared to my local guitar shops or fender super bullets which are hands down the worst brand. Plus they can really take the abuse of detuned black metal without any concern that they'll break, you can play these for an extended period of time until they rust and they'll still stay in tune. Only a few brands I keep coming back to as my store sells everything , these I can buy without any kind of hesistation because their cheap but yet have this awesome new string sound, that and like I said before their built to last.Jason Tallwood
I broke down and tuned to down a half step with these. I hear a massive difference with these, and for good reason. More mass, more power, more sustain. More Steel. These are more work to play on, no doubt. Harder to bend for sure. I imagine if you play on these for a week you'll have massive strength if you go back to a lighter gague. I dig em'. Looking for a pair of strings for youre heavy work with a bright nickel-wound sound? Youre search is over! These strings come with the standard Daddario quality so you know youre good. Daddario strins have never failed on me, I have to replace them because of the dirt after a couple weeks rather than because the strings break. This gauge is also appropriate for lower drop tunings. Absolutely great for Drop C tuning, but youll manage to get a good sound out of it even in drop B.

Overall: Having had a Peavey Wolfgang and an Evh Wolfgang when they first came out, I knew I loved the hardware and the neck so I figured this would be the same with a new look. With the addition of a kill switch, I figured this would be a perfect guitar for many styles. I knew I would want to put it through my tremonti MT15, Mesa road king, Mesa tremoverb, orange Micro Terror and Yamaha THR5 to see which styles this is suited for and which it is not.Right off the bat I was very happy with how the matte finish felt. The neck is incredible as well, as I expected. And having spent a lifetime of using the volume knob go from clean to dirty as Eddie did I appreciated the volume knob being so easy to turn.I was very happy with the sound of the pickups. I know that Eddie has been through many pickups throughout the years. These are very good, and seem to work well for everything. Not too hot and just the right bit of midrange. Nitpicks are that it doesn’t come with a bag or case. And Eddie liked the pickup selector reversed, which this one does not. But that is a small fix. And something about the finish just looks cheap. Maybe that is just something to do with the purple daze finish….
Very impressed with this guitar. The neck has a great feel and well set-up for playing fast and note bends, especially in the upper register. Sustain is impressive for a sub £1k guitar and there is probably enough grunt from the factory pickups for most players. The low friction volume and high friction tone are a nice thing to have and am considering adapting my other working guitars with this. Using the D-Tuna was a learning curve as you can't use the fine tuner once set at drop D (well, you can tweak the tuning on the D-Tuna itself once set in the standard tuning position). If you don't fancy using it you can always swap it out with the supplied kit. The kill button is fun and I'm sure I'll get good use of it in time but I do keep brushing it when hammering out funk rhythms. Possibly due to my large hands but worth noting that if you splay you strumming hand when playing, you may end up with a scuff bruise or two. All told, I'm very happy with this new addition to my string family.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
Great guitar. Plays like butter. My biggest problem is that the Floyd Rose bridge goes out of tune every time I use the tremolo ( actually comes out of the body). Even with me buying the protection plan I keep getting told that my only option is to pay more money and get the bridge replaced and re-setup. Very disappointed with this whole experience.Kevin

D'addario EJ26 Phosphor Bronze guitar strings are very good. I have played this strings for years. D'addario is a very trusted brand among guitar players. They are always consistent great sound and playability. They are comfortable on the fingers and they last a good while. The longevity of strings all depends on how much and how often you play. I have used various D'Addario strings since the early 80s. I was 'aware' of them in the 70s but I typically used Fender strings on electrics and Martin on acoustics. I have always maintained that D'Addario strings are cheap, plentiful, and get the job done. The argument could be made that there are better strings out there ("boutique" strings) but D'Addarios are available in any music store and they are consistently good. I think I only had one or two sets where the unwound strings were nasty…. they looked 'kinked' and didn't sound right. One or two sets out of how many hundreds of sets?? As to these particular strings, I have a 1947 Gibson L-5 and it just feels more 'right' with caveman strings. I'm not one of those 30s rhythm players that go runka chunka all day long, I play it like any other guitar, and it begs for heavy strings. D'Addario has them available….not everyone does, ya know. I'm happy with the company's products, across the board.ksdaddy
I bought these for a Little Martin, which was recommended to me as the best way to introduce Nashville tuning to my repertoire, as the smaller scale takes better to high-string tunings. Nashville tuning is sort of a studio trick most often used as a doubling of a standard guitar in order to achieve a 12-string or natural chorusing effect with less playing effort, more mixing possibilities, and no worries about having to down-tune to D to avoid neck or bridge issues due to the tension of most 12-strings (other than Guild models). There aren't many choices for pre-configured Nashville sets (many people put theirs together from individual strings), but this set seems the best balanced of what's available, and is especially designed to work well on short-scale guitars like the Little Martin series. I just wish they also made this in an 80/20 formulation, as I am starting to prefer how that metal combination blends with other instruments in the mix vs. the more modern phosphor bronze formulation. But one could always use 80/20 on the main guitar and get an even richer sound when blended with this phosphor bronze set.
