Reviews:
I've been a D'addario guy for a long time, and use them on all my guitars. I like the phosphor bronze tone on my acoustics, and use the extra lights because I have hand and finger joint issues. Actually 10s are pretty heavy for me, I use 8s on my electrics. Anyway, they sound great, are easy to play and have always been reliable for me.James
For years I refused to replace one of the low E machines on my Guild 12-string, as much on principle as anything else. I could only find a full set when I only needed one. The folks at Sam Ash knew my feeling and enthusiastically referred me back to the shop. Not only did I get a single machine, the price was more than right. Now I will be going back there not so much for their merchandise as for the people. That's where they put their investment.Mediaman.2
A friend of mine put light gauge electric strings on his acoustic guitar so it would be easier to play. I did like the feel but the sound was too thin so when I came across the Extra Light D'Addario's for acoustics I was excited to try them. My preferred style of playing an acoustic has recently become almost all finger-picking without finger picks. I tried them on my vintage classic dreadnought Yamaha F335ii and they sound good with a little less low end and a little more thin high end which you would expect. Also there is a tendency for the little E string to rattle as I use an upward stroke with the index or middle finger to play it. I will try switching that string out with a little higher gauge to alleviate that problem. Your style (light or heavy) of playing may determine whether these strings are right for you. They are great for strumming light rhythm with a balanced bright sound using a Fender thin pick so I would definitely use them for recording rhythm parts. For recording finger-picked parts I will continue using regular light gauge strings on a Martin. The D'Addario extra lights are easy on the fingers and good for practicing any style. They would also be a good choice for beginnersdhughe1

Reviews:
See above. I play a 12/6 1982 Ibanez Studio. The 6 gets the usual EB slinky regulars. I have tried EB slinky 12's, and didn't care for them. They were stiff and too jangly of a tone for my taste. These EB light nickels for the electric 12 are perfect. And they last. It is a lot of personal preference, but I think the most important thing with elec 12 string axes is to get a gauge spectrum that works for your needs. Unfortunately, it is trial and error. Superb. Haven't popped one yet, and I am quite rough on them. 9 bucks a pair is a steal.Timothy Benz
I've been playing multiple stringed instruments for over 40 years and have tried nearly every brand of strings made but I always came back to Ernie Ball. For probably the last 15 years i've used Ernie Ball exclusively. Unless someone starts giving me free guitar strings(6 & 12), mandolin, bass & uke strings, i'll stay exclsively Ernie Ball For all my instrument strings. Even if given some other brand i'd go with EB when I had to spend my money. The string brand I trust thru years of experience. Great life, great feel, great dependability and most importantly, great sound. It's nothing but Ernie Ball strings for me.none
Like I say, I've used nothing but Slinkys, on my six and 12-strings since about 1970 with NO complaints. They hold pitch after a gig of bending them like the dickens. Wipe the off frequently and they'll last and last, like for those whom like to occasionally "flog" their axe just for their "own amazement" anymore. Used Ernie Balls on 99.5% of the gigs that I've played since about 1970. Wha's zat tell you? Hold pitch in ALL kinds of environments. From rainy, outside festivals to smokey dives, there's VERY little loss in pitch. You get nearly 100% value for your money with "Slinkys"-ALL sizes!

I have a 370 12 string that I purchased in 1998. Over the years I had used several other brands of 12 strings, I found they offered no perceptible increase in quality, tone, or life on my 370 than Rickenbacker's own branded strings. The on-line price for the strings is very competitive, especially when combined with the free shipping. I had my strings within 4 days and I was extremely pleased.DougYC72
Sure, you could buy other sets of electric 12-string strings. Probably. But I haven't seen any other set with the same gauges as the factory ones. They're not widely available and they were half the price here as they were at the next cheapest place.Zev
I use these for my Gretsch Country Gentleman 12 string, I like the balance on the string tension and the correct intonation on the two G strings. Sound great!ROBERT

Reviews:
I usually use brands that cost more – I decided to try these out on my 12 string because I like to try out different strings and they were cheap. As I was putting them on, I immediately noticed that the strings needed to be stretched out a lot more than the brands I usually use. As I was tuning them up, the small G string snapped. Later one of the high E strings snapped. I was afraid to keep tightening the strings to get them up to pitch because they did not stretch out like normal ones. When I finally got ten strings tuned, they kept going flat. Eventually they stretched out & actually sounded nice (with ten strings on a 12 string guitar). I ended up taking them off the next day and throwing them out & putting a new pack of nicer strings on. I've been changing guitar strings for 32 years so I know how to do this – I've worked with many different brands & types of strings (80/20, phosphor bronze, silk & steel, coated, etc). I say that to emphasize that I'm not a novice at putting strings on a guitar. Maybe they'll work for you but I won't try them again.10nhm69
Nice extra light gauge but still with more bass than I expected which is a bonus. Very little pull on the neck, so action stays low. Nice feel and tone when playing.DuncanW
Kept getting sore fingers after playing on my Taylor, but then put these on. They are so soft and playable, I can play all night. Highly recommend these strings.S

Reviews:
Definitely the best strings at the price point lately. They have a thinner or smoother wind than Ernie Ball slinkys or Daddarrio exl and this results in less finger noise and a zingier tone IMO. I'm into clean and classic rock, and I doubt you would like these over the former two names if you were into more modern and metal sounds. It depends on the guitar for me, on my strat I could use just about any strings. My guitars with humbuckers seem more picky, at least to my ears. I prefer these over the other two as far as cheap strings go, and these are often cheaper. Win win. Used to be I would never have preferred Fender strings so either my tastes are changing or these strings have changed over the years.Joelish
Overall: Don't pay any attention to the low price these are great strings. Have used Fender 7250's on all kinds of bass guitars they always sound great and feel good. Years of use have proved quality. I put them on my Jazz bass, my PJ, and my Squire, have used them on Samick, Music man, OLP, and Epiphone basses, all good.Scott
According to a Fender rep, these are what came on the Fender PJ bass I ordered from Musician's Friend. They produce the classic Fender tone I wanted. I eventually replaced them with a set of Fender 7250L (.040, .060, .080, .100) to make it easier to play on the guitar's 9.5" fingerboard radius. I stayed with Fender because of the tone that the 7250M strings produce. The Light's have slightly less oomph on the low end, yet all the tone while the lighter gauge makes for nice melodic work on the high end of things. If you have a Fender bass and want Fender tone…Vice

Reviews:
These flex core strings are the best, I use them on all my guitars. The tone quality and response is awesome for fingerpicking and they're super easy on the fingers. The only issue I have with the twelve string set is that it only comes in the extra light gauge so you can't detune them very far. I use some medium gauge strings for the low e, a and d stringHayden
I like these better the regular strings. Worth the extra costs. This is my first 12 String so I am comparing these to the Six strings that I have used in the past. These sound and feel really good. Great quality!!! For the money you can't go wrong.INGRID HEAD
These were described as custom light; however, they are extra light. The thinner strings break too easily, and dont stay in tune.brmilubech

Not a good quality strings. They can't hold tension if tuned to higher octave for 12 string guitar. 1 string snapped during tuning. Maybe they would be good if tuned a 1/2 step down but otherwise not.radiusdishuk

Fantastic set! Took my standard scale six-string to new lows! It’s a bit loose but useable in G but about perfect for G# on my SE archtop Rich Bich. And better than the 72 gauge EB string I had tried previously. Immediately fell into a reasonable tone and with a little EQ-ing! Been an Ernie Ball guy for years. Stringjoy has a new fan!Andrew M
I like the strings, but the over advertising on emails is really annoying. I’m not sure who is your marketing manager, but your time would be well spent at NAAM, Local guitar dealers, online advertising, etc. Maybe even getting a contract to put your strings on specialty guitars from the manufacturer, along with specs that only you meet. Such a great product, but it’s really not out there and non-stop emails are annoying to every person. Good luck as a company, hope the honest feed back helps.John L
I had been reading about these strings in forums etc and was intrigued. Decided to try a set or two and see what was up. I bought the 10-52 Signatures. Well, I have been using them for a month and a half and all I can say is, believe the hype. The feel great, nice on the fingers, and it seems like the difference in quality of the metal is noticeable. I mean, it feels that way. Maybe it's something else. I don't know but they feel good, hold tune very well and settle in easy right after they're strung up. In six weeks of home playing they have not diminished in tone or tuning stability at all. I am already subscribing for three sets every two months as well. Love my stringjoys.Brian H

Reviews:
I've been playing for 38 years. I wasn't aware of generic strings in the old days so I've used all the big names, Ernie Ball, GHS, D'addario and to me these are pretty good strings. I've been using them for 8 or 9 years now. The main thing I will say about them is that they mellow out quickly, in other words the new string brightness goes away pretty fast. For me, this is good. I do not like that jangle brightness of new strings. Other than that I can't hear or feel a difference from the major brands. I have recommended them to friends who also liked them. We were in a cover band together and had to restring many guitars fairly often because they would get sweat all over and not wiped down. So these were economical.Quinn
I bought a whole bunch of these in different sizes as it is a good way to experiment with using different sized strings. Some strings last a while but many pop almost immediately right at the ball. Once I had three in a row pop, each one the first time I struck the string with the pick. Enough of the strings work well enough to allow me to accomplish what i wanted but it is frustrating and I will be glad when they run out. But whatever at this price I don't really care.b
I ordered a huge bulk back in 2010, the 10 thru 46 guages set. They hold tune well and have good tone. After each time I practice or gig, I wipe down the strings with 3 in 1 oil and they last. Some people complain that the ball ends break off. But I only use these strings on my Floyd Rose equiped guitars, so I use the ball end wrapped through the posts of my tuning keys, then lock the clamp down. I use stainless steel picks and stacatto pick ( like Yngwie Malmsteen), bend 2 whole steps and pull up hard on the tremolo bar …..and they stay in perfect tune. I'm due for another huge order and will post another review.A.J.

Used on my new Harley Benton RB-612BK electric 12 string. I have been using Ernie Ball strings since 1992. Would not consider any other strings for an electric guitar.Mr S.
Do your guitar a favor and always tune your 12 string to "D". Use a Capo to raise the pitch to "E" if you need to. In the long term, your neck, heel joint and bridge will thank you. Just some advice, take it or leave it as you wish. THX

Reviews:
I am a guitar tech with my own shop, so I do a lot of string changes, and get to experience a lot of different strings on different guitars. My personal go-to acoustic strings have been Martin SP phosphor bronze for years. In my shop I use a lot of D'Adderio and Ernie Ball because they are good and inexpensive. About a year ago I went through a bunch of different strings, trying to find the best fit for my OM Martin. When I put on a set of DR Rares my search was over. They gave that guitar volume and richness that none of the other strings could match. Since then I've started putting the Rares on my dreadnaughts, and they sound great as well. They have a nice feel, and they last. The ones on my Martin have been on for two months, and still sound great.Norm H
Whenever I get a new or a new, used guitar I begin the search for the strings that sound best for it to me. This can take a long time because I've learned that brand new, freshly mounted strings take a couple of days to settle in and then it takes more time to evaluate how they sound, how they feel and how they last before a judgement can be made. I don't think I've ever tried any modern strings that I disliked so much that I took them off the guitar right away but there are differences among string brands and models. As regards these DR Rare strings; eight or nine years ago I got a new 2006 Gibson J-50 and boy was it tight sounding. The highs and mids were fine but the low end was lacking. I did a number of things (that ended up working) to try and loosen the top up on this guitar but along the way I found DR Rares to be the strings for it. At first there was just the slightest increase in bass response over other strings but the feel of these strings was just so tasty I stopped my search for strings once I had played them for a month. At this guitar's ten year old mark this guitar began to really blossom with the Rares and it has only gotten better with more age. I find DR Rares to be very consistent in quality and tone and longevity and well worth trying, especially on short scale instruments. They definitely have their own little niche when it comes to feel and tone.Mountainpicker
I put these on my Greg Bennett OM3. It's an all sapele, all laminate box. They sweetened the sound of the tinny trebles. Slide very smooth but still squeak of course. Feel great on the fingers. They are the loudest strings I've ever had. They settled in and held their tuning within minutes. The cheap guitar is always in tune. Never had strings perform like this. I play 90 minutes every night and the strings sound fresh after a month or more. They're showing no sign of corrosion or wear. However, I don't like the overall tone they give to this particular guitar. I used them to replace the cheapest Martin P.B. which are not my favorite strings, and the Martins sounded better. After much experimenting, D'Addario PB lights are the best string for my OM3. I'm going to try the Rare Bluegrass version on my Yamaha FG730S, and will review those in the future. These DR Rare strings have a lot going for them, and are relatively inexpensive. Try them and see how they sound on your guitar.I_likewalnuts

Reviews:
I have too many guitars according to my wife, so I use a lot of strings. I have tried many different string manufacturers, then a few years ago I discovered Stringjoy. I do a lot of country style string bending and did some research to see what the pros were using, But I recall Tommy Emmanuel’s answer to an audience member who asked what gauge strings he uses, to which Tommy replied, “it’s should not matter to you what I use, but rather what you personally feel comfortable with†. I kept this in mind when doing my research. I had been using 10’s but found that bending the B and G string was a little challenging. Hey, we don’t all have SRV fingers that can bend aircraft cable. For my first Stringjoy order I tried to assemble a custom set (a cool feature that Stringjoy offers) and Scott contacted me with a suggestion. That personal attention was something I had not encountered until then. After some experimentation, I am now using the 9-48 set and it has changed my playing in a big way. I’m not a pro by any stretch of the imagination but I am a tone hound, and these strings not only feel good, but sound great. I highly recommend these to anyone who likes to bend their strings.Jim J
So far so good with this set of strings. I like the feel as much as I do the Signatures. I can't say one is better than the other, but I agree with the assessment that these are coated strings for those who don't like coated strings. They feel natural and durable. I only have a few hours with them so far, but I've tried to bend as much as possible, and they hold tune perfectly.Chris G
The best strings hands down. I have gone back and forth with most of the other major brands, and I keep coming back to Stringjoy. The quality and longevity of the strings can be felt, and makes playing even more fun than it already is. Not to mention the company are very responsive and friendly with any questions. The standard sets and their gauges really make a difference in tuning stability, especially with the higher gauge sets (11.5, etc). Keep up the great work Stringjoy crew!Michael G

These strings sound and feel great on my 12-string Strat. My only complaint is that I think the lower-octave G-string should be wound, not plain steel. My solution was simply to buy a bunch of single D'addario 18W strings to supplement these sets. Worth it for the improvement in intonation and tonal balance with the E, A and D octave pairs.captdusty
Bought a gear4 music tele' 12 string, first thing took off strings and replaced with these, the difference !!! amazing ! setting up intonation with these was brilliant, the sound is bright n clear, the playability is wow – yep , I love these stringscelticmusicman
The price was good, but the strings sound toppy real bad. I am constantly having to adjust because of buzzing. I wouldnt normally suspect the strings for the buzzing, but there was no buzzing before and I have to regularly adjust to make it stop. Which Im sure throws off my intonation and action. Not worried to much about action on this 12 string. Thinking of switching out the primary 6 to se if that fixes it.tomdarton

I hardly ever review stuff. Also, it is hard to write a review like this without sounding like a bit of an ass, but here goes: I've been playing for 20+ years. Lots and lots of time spent playing on and off stages in all manner of venues. These strings are hands down and without question absolutely, positively the best strings I have ever played. I have been playing .10-.52's for years and the Stringjoy set just kills. If it wasn't true that I will NEVER buy another brand of strings again, I would say that Stringjoy strings are too good to be good business. I change strings about three times LESS than I used to. And while I used to blow my b or e strings off my guitar routinely during shows, I (almost) never breaks strings now. These things have unparalleled life and longevity and sound snappy gig after gig after gig (well, back when we used to do that sort of thing). We've all played all the major brands. Frankly, I considered them interchangeable and just had dogmatic loyalty to certain brands for no particular reason that would change from time to time (availability?). If you don't have a lot of playing time under your belt bending strings and playing hard, you may not notice how good Stringjoy strings are. If you are a serious player, do yourself a favor and get a set (Hell, get 10 sets). You might not notice the difference immediately, but you'll notice the following month when you haven't broken a string and they sound just as good as they did when you strapped 'em on. Thanks for an awesome product, guys. Seriously. Also, I just realized that I'm reviewing the Broadways (green). I like them a lot. The blue ones rule and they are the ones I usually get.Julian A
I’ve been playing various styles of music for the past 55 years. As a musician, songwriter, arranger and singer I am constantly looking for ways to improve. Whether “live†or in the studio the quality of equipment is of vital importance. Over the past several months I have been using Stringjoy Signatures on my Strats, Tele and Les Pauls. They definitely are ahead of the curve in every way and I recommend them highly. If you have not at least “experimented†with Stringjoys you owe it to yourself to do so. If you are serious about your music you need also to be serious about your strings.Michael D
I had been a loyal user of (unnamed brand) strings for over 3 decades. The first time I tried Stringjoys, I had such a positive visceral reaction that i had to try one more set on the same guitar, assuming that it was a fluke. NOPE! The differences are real! My tone was exponentially better, and they felt "right". That was over 5 years ago, and I will never use another brand of string on any of my stringed instruments (yes, I have migrated my acoustic guitars, a lap-steel, and a few basses to Stringjoy!). The improvements are not anecdotal or trivial, these are amazing strings!Rich P

I cant state enough how good this nut worked. It fit perfectly with a little minor sizing. The guitars tone opened up dramatically. The notes literally come blossoming out. And that annoying plink while tuning is gone. Great product. 2017 Breedlove Studio 12-string.jhs60061
19. Rotosound Jk30l Jumbo King 12 String Phosphor Bronze
Product Details:
Jumbo king acoustic phosphor bronze still the world`s favourite acoustic string that has been around for decades and will continue to do so. with a 92/8 bronze alloy made especially for us to our exacting specifications in the uk. this set continues to remain the favourite string for such eminent performers as john renbourn and sir bob geldof. please note: w denotes wound string johns thoughts on his strings of choice in my search for the clearest set of bronze strings, i tried some old rotosounds in black and red packets that i had somehow managed to hang on to for years. they sounded really good, bright and well balanced but with a rich tone. the company were amused to hear that anybody should still have strings going so far back but assured me that, several packet designs later, their new strings were still the same quality. rotosound bass strings have a high profile world-wide which may have overshadowed their guitar strings. james how, who founded the company in the fifties, engineered a new type of string-winding machine that was a step ahead of the industry and all the strings are produced to the same degree of precision. in addition to the phospher-bronze round wounds, rotosound also make guitar strings in the piano string design. that is with the wrap wire stopping short of the ball end so that a section of the core wire is exposed and only the core wire comes into contact with the saddle. these strings are called ‘country gold’. it is actually an old idea and i have a feeling that the very first steel strings used on the guitar in the 1800′s were like that. the gauges for both types of string are 060 to 018 covered, and 026 to 008 plain.

Always great strings since the 60s.josephbrevcat
Great Value for price, superb tone and string tension with a wound A 5th which enhances bottom end tone, Oh, and a 10 gauge G 3rd plain octave as opposed to flimsy 8 gauge available on others. What's more…. it's a well known and respected UK brand and provides an excellent tone. Best I've used on my 12 string to date, so the search is over. PS, with regards to String tension these string seem to me to have the same tension (or slightly lower) as 10 -47 gauge USA alternatives previously used, with a richer tone and greater volume acoustically..134gloria44

Terrific strings for markedly reducing the jangles on my Taylor Sitka/Rosewood 12-string. Full but warm tone. On top of that, owing to the low tension of these strings, I am no longer forced to tune my 12-string a half-step flat to ease fingering! Highly recommend.Phaedrum
I prefer the crisp tone of 80/20 bronze strings. They sound great on my Seagull S12 CH CW Spruce Sunburst GT Q1T. Rock n Rollphifan_24
