PAUL OAKENFOLD AND SHURE WHITELABEL CARTRIDGES ON REALITY SHOW

Dec 20, 2004 7:32 PM

World famous DJ, mixer and producer Paul Oakenfeld will add his talents to a new reality television show called The Club for Spike TV, which will feature the use of Shure’s Whitelabel phonograph cartridges. The show will feature a Las Vegas nightclub—presently called Ice—that has been recently refurbished but is not turning any profit. Oakenfeld will be one of the key players enlisted to help transform the club into a successful enterprise.

“It’s very important for me to use gear that performs consistently time and time again,” Oakenfeld says. “I’ve been using Shure’s White Labels for years because I know I can depend on them for accuracy and great sound. This is going to be essential for the new show because it’s critical that the music sounds flawless.”

The Shure Whitelabel is a unique cartridge designed expressly for club and party DJs with a striking industrial design that places function before form. Key features include:

-Forward Mass Design: Puts the majority of the cartridge's weight where it belongs-over the needle itself, giving you the best combination of accuracy and skip resistance.

-Adjustable Stylus Overhang: This unique feature allows forward and backward movement of the stylus to ensure optimal tracking whether you use a straight-arm or S-type tonearm. The cartridge ships pre-set to 52mm, the preferred setting for use with the industry-standard Technics 1200 turntable.

-Reliable Electrical Contact: Gold-plated connector pins help you get the best possible connection without damaging your tone arm.

-Improved Stylus Visibility: Eliminates the annoying guesswork of just where the needle is going to hit the vinyl-drop it perfectly every time!

The Whitelabel cartridge ships complete with a very cool brushed aluminum carrying case to protect it from gig to gig. MSRP is $175. Check out www.needlz.com for complete details on the Whitelabel and all of Shure's other phono-related products.
