Pyramind: The Institute for Advanced Digital Audio Training is sponsoring the Monday, May 7 kickoff event for the San Francisco Chapter of the Recording Academy's new Grammy U Media Mash-Up contest. In this contest created by the local Grammy Chapter, students from all schools are invited to create three-minute audio and video mash-ups using original files supplied by students.
A select industry panel will evaluate the finished mash-up projects in July 2007. One grand prize-winner will be chosen from the final mash-up submissions; the winner will be determined by how well the piece addresses the contest themes of music education and arts philanthropy, the creative use of the audio and video clips and editing expertise. Prizes from industry manufacturers will be announced soon.
