NUMARK DXM SERIES
DJ MIXERS
Numark raises the bar on its competitors with the release of the DXM Series ($270-$350) of all-digital DJ mixers, including the DXM01, DXM03 and DXM06. The new mixers boast 24-bit digital signal paths throughout, offering high fidelity with signal-to-noise ratios greater than 103 dB. Each model offers unique features to appeal to a variety of tastes and wallet sizes. The DXM06 incorporates 12 beat-synched and vocal effects, including double-copy, tape echo, echo, flange, phase, filter, vocoder, reverb and distortion. Beat-sync effects are controllable with a beat-sync Tap button, a wet/dry fader and a rotary parameter knob. The DXM03 features a huge 12-column Spectrum Analyzer. The DXM01 includes a sub-bass synthesizer for beefing up the low end in a way that harmonically matches the music. Peak limiting with look-ahead is present on the headphone and master outputs, providing extreme EQ and signal boost with full clarity, as well as protection from signal distortion and speaker damage. All DXM mixers use noise-free digital controls for longevity, precision and quiet operation, and all provide DJs with wide 3-band channel EQs with frequency kill switches for sound sculpting and creative mixing capabilities.

BEHRINGER TWEAKALIZER DFX69
DJ EFFECTS PROCESSOR
Behringer steps into the world of DJ products with its new Tweakalizer DFX69 ($129.99). According to Behringer, “Don't be fooled by its cutesy looks: The Tweakalizer DFX69 is an extremely powerful desktop DJ effects processor with real-time control.” An intuitive user interface provides the power to simultaneously control six functions. A real-time Scratch function and a superfast and accurate auto-bpm counter are included. Some of the effects functions include a virtually inaudible pitch transposer; an LFO-controlled effects section with delay and flanger; and filter effects that provide three filter types (low-, high- and bandpass), three filter modes (auto, manual, LFO) and a separate resonance control. Switchable phono/line inputs with a built-in phono preamp allow the user to connect to turntables, CD players and other line sources, and controls for signal/effect balance and input gain provide flexible and accurate signal control. Ultra-high-resolution 24-bit A/D/A converters, along with high-performance 24- and 48-bit digital signal processing provide excellent sonic resolution.
