Looking to the past with double vision
Consisting of revamped versions of rarely exported early EPs from Norway's leading source of dreamy psych rock and guitar noise, this double CD pairs original rarities with remixes just now seeing the light of day. Four of the five tracks from 2002's Fixxations appear twice with the remixes adding some extra buzz, and in the case of "Hear/Bleed Phil Harmonic," a backward guitar. Disc two updates a previously released retrospective featuring songs like "Degenerate" that display noisier sounds with measured fuses that lead to bigger payoffs.—Noah Levine [3.5 out of 5 stars]
