ModernBeats has announced
the four winners and six runners-up for its second Hip Hop Beat Contest. In
addition to receiving a total of $2,876 in prizes, the winning music producers
gain industry exposure and name recognition among urban musicians.
The grand prize ($1,000,
$578 in gear prizes) was awarded to music producer Jeremy Yeremian of Los
Angeles, Calif. Second place ($500, $298 in gear prizes) went to hip-hop
producer Terrence "T" Lewis out of Hamilton, Ohio, while third place ($300)
was snagged by producer Brian Moody from Atlanta, Ga., and fourth place ($200)
was given to Eric "edub" Walton of Poway, Calif. All of the music
producers competing in the Hip Hop Beat Contest used at least one ModernBeats
sound or loop library in their contest beat productions.
