Sep 18, 2007 1:29 PM
The Swerve Festival is on
the way quick—Sept. 28-30, to be exact—complete with a lineup that'll include
live sets from the likes of We Are Scientists, DeVotchKa, The Black Angels,
Illinois, Oh No! Oh My!, Foreign Born, Thee More Shallows and Snowden.
Featuring an eclectic mix
of internationally known headline acts as well as critically acclaimed
up-and-coming artists, the performers will, well, perform at Los Angeles'
Echoplex and in free shows at the Barnsdall Art Park. These live-music artists
are being booked in association with ASCAP, a nonprofit performing rights
organization.
Attendees can also check
out Swerve's late-night afterparty at Echoplex Saturday night, featuring
Brazilian sensation Bonde Do Role's hybrid of hip-hop, funk and electronica.
Other acts that will be featured between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m. include Juiceboxxx,
LA Riots, The Toxic Avenger and DJ's Franki Chan and Paparazzi.
Film, music videos,
original art installations, recycling programs and other global initiatives,
and various activity labs and meet-the-artist sessions, will also be part of
the rilly big shew.
