Sept. 22: New York + Tokyo = One Cool Festival

The 3rd Annual New York
Tokyo Music Festival (NYTMF) is set for Sept. 22 at Central Park's Rumsey
Playfield. The event will run all day long, exploring the creative
possibilities that bind together these two cities, from the mainstream to the
underground, traditional to modern, kitsch and art, the cute and the cool.
This year, New York
offerings will include hip-hop musicians/lyricists MF Doom and Pharoahe Monch,
and Tokyo will present DJ/producer Nigo and his hip-hop crew, The Teriyaki
Boyz, as well as electronic one-man band DJ Uppercut. Kenny Muhammad and DJ
Pete Rock will also appear, and the fest will include video games, fashion, and
more.
The proverbial doors will
