Sept. 22: New York + Tokyo = One Cool Festival

Sep 10, 2007 5:12 PM

The 3rd Annual New York Tokyo Music Festival (NYTMF) is set for Sept. 22 at Central Park's Rumsey Playfield. The event will run all day long, exploring the creative possibilities that bind together these two cities, from the mainstream to the underground, traditional to modern, kitsch and art, the cute and the cool.

This year, New York offerings will include hip-hop musicians/lyricists MF Doom and Pharoahe Monch, and Tokyo will present DJ/producer Nigo and his hip-hop crew, The Teriyaki Boyz, as well as electronic one-man band DJ Uppercut. Kenny Muhammad and DJ Pete Rock will also appear, and the fest will include video games, fashion, and more.

The proverbial doors will open at 2 p.m.; tix and etc. at http://music.newyork-tokyo.com/how.html.
