RØDE Microphones is now shipping the M3—the first in a new series of mics designed to make high quality recording and performance accessible to a wider audience.
“The concept behind the M3 was to create a versatile microphone that displays superior quality, while making it readily available to the new user and seasoned performer and engineer alike,” commented RØDE Microphones director Peter Freedman, on the M3's affordable $199 MAP pricing. Designed with versatility in mind, the cardioid M3 is suitable for both live performance and studio/remote recording, internal shock mounting and low handling noise make it suitable for location recording, field reporting and sample/sound effects gathering.
Other features include: a switchable high-pass filter for LF attenuation, a 3-stage (0, -10dB, -20dB) pad, maximum 142 dB SPL handling, 48 VDC phantom or 9 VDC battery powering, molded flight case, foam windscreen and mic clip.
